Stories Forged on a Balcony
I've found myself on the balcony of my mom's apartment in a rather insightful mood. In these summer afternoons, this balcony is where I retreat to. Birdsong plays, the trees sway in the wind, wind chimes naturally create a peaceful symphony and the buzz of the town is in the background.
From these elements, stories are told. In every bird call is a pleasant conversation of their own. In all of the rustle of the leaves is a novel of how they feel, and who moves them. The wind chimes tell of their own anecdotes and the lively busyness of the town makes its own history. From the loud lawnmowers to the unbothered winged dialogues, there is a perspective in everything. How we perceive those perspectives is up to us.
In observing these beautiful aspects of the balcony, I choose to write stories of my own, to give insights to the reader, whoever that may be, of how fun it is to be a writer.
And in these stories, they too can know what it is like to be a kid again. To have an imagination of their own, to think of how fun it could be to be in one of those stories.
This is a prologue to a string of short stories I plan to write! Stay tuned for more :)

20 Ways to Show Extreme Fear in Your Writing
As I dive into researching signs of fear for my horror WIP, I wanted to share some of the most compelling and visceral reactions I’ve come across. Whether you’re writing a chilling scene or crafting a character’s panic, these 20 signs of fear can help bring tension and realism to your story.
Physical Reactions
Hyperventilating — sucking in air but never feeling like it’s enough
Chest tightens — feels like a weight or hands pressing down
Limbs shaking violently, knees buckling
Complete loss of muscle control — collapsing or unable to stand
Cold sweat soaking through clothes
Heart hammering so hard they feel it in their throat or head
Tunnel vision — the world narrowing down to one terrifying focal point
Ringing in the ears or sudden deafness, like the world drops away
Dizziness / feeling faint / vision blurring
Dry mouth — unable to speak or even scream
Uncontrollable Behavior
Screaming / sobbing / gasping — involuntary vocal outbursts
Panic run — bolting without thinking, tripping over everything
Clawing at their own skin / chest / throat — like trying to escape their body
Begging / pleading out loud even if no one’s there
Repeating words or phrases — “No, no, no” / “This isn’t happening”
Hiding instinctively — diving under tables, closets, or corners
Desperate grabbing — reaching for someone, anything solid
Loss of bladder or bowel control (for extreme terror)
Total mental shutdown — frozen, slack-jawed, staring blankly
Memory blackout — later can’t recall what happened during the worst moment

I've been a maladaptive daydreamer since I was about 9. I've used it as a coping strategy, but now that I don't need it anymore and it's getting in the way of my everyday life (e.g. homework, taking care of myself).
But, I know that most of my creativity comes from maladaptive daydreaming. I love writing, and I don't want to lose my creative flow, but then again, I need to take control of my life again.
So that brings me to my question: are there any maladaptive daydreamers, or people who used to maladaptive daydream, who could offer advice?

The first time Woodkid wrote/sung a song for Arcane, it played during the reunion of sisters.
The second time, it played during the collapse of their relationship.
