unlabeled gender is absolutely a thing!! but there's also a few labels that might also suit what you need!

nullgender: the absence of gender, but it is not agender or neutrois. It is a term for those to give a “tangibility” to the intangible thing that is their gender.

pomogender: an identity where one denies or does not fit any labels for any particular gender.

nongender: gender that is most accurately described by what it is not rather than by what it is.

genderqueer: identity and umbrella term that encompasses queer and non-normative gender experiences and identities.

these are just a few that came to mind and are very brief snippets, and we wish you luck in finding a label or lack thereof!!

I have finally finished turnabout for tomorrow (final trial of dual destinies, excluding dlc)

I don't think I have ever been so mad or disappointed in an aa trial

it's the fact that we don't even get to see the culprits real face or find out their name

and maybe I'm stupid, but I don't think anything, and I well and truly mean ANYTHING, actually pointed to the culprit, up until a moment almost at the very end of the trial

even for aa standards this was a wild ride

the apollo justice trilogy so far remains to be my favourite in aa, the first game is amazing and more people should play it, 10/10 would recommend

certainly, you will have many a-headcanon for poor Sholmes.

ohhh I haven't actually given sholmes much thought yet, headcanon wise, but here's what I can come up with on the spot:

-as most sherlock interpretations, I will hc him to be asexual, although I think sholmes is probably somewhere on the aromantic spectrum, rather than fully aro. demiromantic, perhaps?

-in any case, romance is never, has never and will never be top priority to him

-I fully believe sholmes does not conform to traditional gender roles. arguably one of the most gnc characters in aa

-he has for sure experimented a lot, especially in his youth. what has he experimented with you ask? sexuality? drugs? chemicals? gender expression?

-the answer is yes.

-sometimes, his genius mind actually does see through a case on first try. when that happens, he still pretends not to get it and makes wild, outlandish takes, for consistencies sake and bc he has a reputation to uphold

- he has 100% commited at least one crime and carried out a stupidly elaborate plan to get away with it, simply to test if he could

I like you so here, have (some) of my aa lgbtq headcanons:

Miles Edgeworth is asexual, but he's very far from calm whenever he feels romantic attraction. That man is the definition of gay panic

Pheonix Wright is also asexual, but indifferent about sex and he didn't know he was ace until after he and Edgeworth started dating

Klavier Gavin is gnc. Look at that guy. That is a non-binary rock star, he made it his personal mission at some point to take all the genders in existence and shatter them

Apollo Justice is trans and I'm almost counting that as canon. He is also gay and I am brutally projecting here, but he's asexual and on the aro spec, maybe lithromantic

Ema Skye is aro/ace and she might be cis, she might not be, she uses they/she pronouns either way

I am 100% convinced that Maya Fey at some point simply gave up trying to label herself. She likes who she likes, and she doesn't care enough about societal norms to put any label on her sexuality or gender. I am also 100% convinced that Maya would be fine with any and all pronouns

Ace Attorney facts from interviews that live rent free in my brain:

- Turnabout Big Top was voted in the Top 5 cases in the trilogy in a Japanese poll and is, on record, Takumi’s favorite non-finale case

- The team got yelled at for “including too many old men” which led to the creation of Mia’s character

- Takumi’s favorite character is Maya, but he has to get drunk before he can write her dialogue otherwise he gets too embarrassed

- The most requested case concept from fans is [checks notes] a.. train groping case?????

- Takumi has more trouble writing Phoenix than Edgeworth bc the prosecutor is “more unstable than the average person”

- Takumi’s headcanon is that Phoenix was training to be a Shakespearean actor in college and that’s why he’s Like That. He was in Europe studying theatre when he saw Edgeworth in the newspaper and then pivoted to law. Apparently Takumi thinks Phoenix might have been a manga artist’s assistant in college for extra money too?

- Edgeworth’s sanity is apparently hanging exclusively on his dog, who is the only living thing he can be vulnerable with. If the dog dies Edgeworth would apparently Fucking Lose It

- Phoenix thinks Edgeworth is a “pretty cute guy”

- Edgeworth’s favorite music is Korean techno / disco

- When one of the Von karmas wins a case, Manfred takes them out for karaoke

Nilumic

Nilumic, derived from nilum: a less commonly used latin noun, meaning "nothing, nothingness, not a shred, something valueless (without value), (that) which does not exist"

- a term to describe the complete non-existence (lack of) gender identity

- a person who does not find any identity within gender

and/or:

- a person who's personal identity leaves no room for gender

- a nilumic person may identify as trans, but is neither masculine, feminine, androgyne, nor a combination of these.

nilumic as an identity is not cisgender, transgender, non-binary or agender. neither does it exist under any umbrella within or outside the gender binary. it exists outside, independent and in opposition of all gender identities, since it is not a gender identity to begin with.

please note that nilumic is not intended to be a gender identity, but rather a term to describe someone's experience (in regards to gender)

I've also coined this term and flag on reddit
