Black Brothers headcanons 🌌

#1; Regulus is taller.

Alright, so, hear me out on this (knowing that most people see Regulus as somewhat short).

Sirius was the taller one between them, always, even when they finally started at Hogwarts. Not a BIG difference, maybe like half a head taller or something — but he absolutely relished it, brought it up whenever he could because he knew Regulus hated it (Regulus was one of those kids that followed Sirius’ every move because he wanted to be cool like him).

Only, Regulus probably began catching up around his third or fourth year — but he wasn’t even mentioning it because he thought Sirius himself would still be taller than him.

Sirius grew, grew, grew — until he was 16 or 17, probs. He stopped at 5’9 for a while and thought: ‘what…the fuck?’. He tries to brush it off, of course, but then he just stays like that??? 😭

And it’s Regulus himself who keeps growing, and honestly, he’s satisfied the moment he hits just a little over 5’9, because he’s taller than Sirius — but he keeps going. When they reunite again after the war (because no one dies in my head, no sir), Sirius is still just 5’9 while Regulus hit 6’0 easily. Now, Regulus doesn’t bring it up as often as Sirius used to, but he does use it mid-argument or even just in passing because it makes Sirius actually rage (he’s just embarrassed, okay? 😔)

And from then on Sirius refuses to stand next to him, and he forbids anyone from speaking the wretched truth or he gets very sulky like he’s 5 or something.

Miss Rhiannon’s Home For Peculiar Children: a Marauders Story 🕰️ (Part 3; faceclaims!)

(Hi, welcome to part 3 of my 'Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children' AU! These are all my face claims for the characters I've incorporated into the story as of yet.)

(I'll probably add more in the future, but this is all I have for now! About 70 something % of the face claims aren't ones I've seen before, and were really hard to find - so, I think it's fair to say I came up with those ones, lol. These are also just the general face claims I have for these characters, so, hope you enjoy them!)

James Fleamont Potter

= Gurpreet

Why; I never really connected with the usual face claims for James —they just didn’t feel right to me. Most Marauders’ face claims don’t match how I personally imagine them, sadly, so I wanted someone who truly embodied James in my eyes. My main criteria were Latino features, glasses (a must!), and an overall vibe that fit James’ character. Gurpreet checked all those boxes!

Sirius Orion Black

= Inna Nord

Why; I could talk about this forever — feminine Sirius is practically my religion. In my mind, he’s a cis guy but presents so femininely that he’s mistaken for a girl more often than not. That, combined with his abilities and classification, made it impossible for me not to choose a female face claim. I was looking for someone with dark hair, light eyes (ideally a blue or even an actual grey, if I was lucky), fair skin, and an androgynous look — if I had gone with a guy after all. The fact that she has piercings and tattoos only makes her an even more perfect fit for Sirius :)

Peter Charlton Pettigrew

= Stubbosfits

Why; Peter, in my mind, is a plus-sized character (as he is in many people's), and that was a key factor in choosing his face claim. I didn’t have a long list of criteria — just someone who looked warm, approachable, and friendly, with a fuller figure. Blonde hair and blue eyes were a bonus, and I also wanted to avoid someone too tall. Stubbosfits matched most of that!

Charlotte Elizabeth Pettigrew

= Annie.shr

Why; Since Lottie is an OC (not mine!), I had the freedom to play around with her features a bit! The only fixed traits were her blonde hair and blue eyes, since she and Peter are siblings. I wanted someone who wasn’t too tall or too short, just the right balance. More importantly, I was looking for a face that leaned toward youthful rather than mature? Annie.shr was just perfect in my eyes for Lottie.

Dorcas Jade Meadowes

Why; Finding the right face claim for Dorcas was an actual nightmare, honestly — none of the commonly used ones ever felt right to me. In my head, she’s on the taller side, with braids and strong yet distinctly feminine features. It seemed like I was searching for hours and hours on Pinterest without any girl even resembling what I was looking for. And thennnn, I found this goddess. Avatocloo captures that blend effortlessly, really, and I can easily picture her as Dorcas.

Marlene Arienne McKinnon

= Sophie Thatcher

Why; I don’t even know where to start with this one. Sophie Thatcher is a very popular face claim for Marlene, and for the longest time, I couldn’t see her as my Marlene. I just wasn't feeling it, guys :( But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense — Marlene, to me, has a slightly feminine look but carries herself with a distinctly masculine energy. Sophie Thatcher nails that contrast perfectly, I've realized — and I think she's a pretty set faceclaim.

Lily Juniper Evans

Why; I was so indecisive about Lily’s face claim — there are so many amazing choices out there, but I kept running into issues finding enough pictures or active social media accounts for most of them. Kennedy, however, just fits. She has this effortlessly elegant beauty while still giving off that strong, independent woman full of personality feel. She captures Lily’s essence in a way that feels so natural, and I absolutely love her as Lily!

Mary Jean Macdonald

Why; I’ll admit, I’m honestly still a bit hesitant about this one. I can definitely see some of Mary in her — the playful energy, the sweetness she radiates — but there’s still a part of me that isn’t completely sure if she’s the face claim. For now, though, she’s my pick! :)

Pandora Love Rosier

Why; She’s such a common face claim for Pandora, but I adore her. She has this beautifully quirky and unique presence while still carrying an effortless grace that matches how I see Pandora. Plus, it’s rare to find a face claim of a Black woman with such light blonde, almost white braids/hair — so canfrgu was perfect for that.

Evan Xander Rosier

Why; I probably spent the most time searching for Evan’s face claim. I was originally set on someone else — really convinced they were the right choice — until I suddenly realized they didn’t fully match my vision for him. So, I went on a longgg search for another option and eventually stumbled across Vth (I’m pretty sure he’s a YouTuber?). He doesn’t have a ton of pictures out there, but the ones he does have fit Evan so well.

Barty Crouch Jr.

= imran.anj

Why; I don’t think I could ever find the perfect Barty face claim — his look is so specific in my head. I wanted him to have this chaotic, slightly androgynous energy, but finding exactly that was a struggle. Then I came across imran.anj, and I immediately fell in love with the idea of him as Barty. He just fits. Plus, the tattoos? That was a huge bonus because I definitely see Barty having them too — so, it all lined up perfectly!

Regulus Arcturus Black

= Timothee Chalamet

Why; Do I even need to explain this one? Timothée is the Regulus face claim. He just embodies him perfectly — the emotion, the sharp, brooding look, everything. I didn’t even have to think about finding anyone else because no one fits quite like he does. I highly doubt I’ll ever change this face claim — Timothée is just that good as Regulus.

Remus John Lupin

= Matt Hitt

Why; Finding a face for Remus was so difficult - I searched for hours trying to find someone who really fit, and honestly, Matt Hitt is such an iconic face claim for him that I thought — why not? For now, he’s my Remus, though I might switch him out in the future. But what really sold me on him is his ability to express so much just through body language. He just works for Remus in a way that’s hard to ignore.

Haleth Kami Rhiannon

= Gene Tierney

Why; Where do I even start? Miss Rhiannon in my head is…somewhat intimidating at first glance. She’s a taller woman, and also tends to wear quite elaborate, dramatic clothing. I was specifically searching through vintage actresses to try and find someone who fit my view of Miss Rhiannon — and Gene Tierney fits that perfectly. I can easily see her as a matriarch of a home, strict when she needs to be, kind of bigger than life, and I think she has that easy grace that Rhiannon has!

Euphemia Calantha Potter

= Catherine Zeta Jones

Why; Finding Effie’s face claim was so hard. I initially avoided celebrities, but I struggled to find someone who truly fit her, and when I did, I couldn’t find enough photos to work with. So, I turned to Hollywood, and Catherine Zeta-Jones felt like the best match. She captures Effie’s effortless beauty, warmth, and strength — she’s someone to admire, both for her mind and presence. While I wasn’t entirely set on a celebrity, she ended up being the best fit for my vision of Effie!

Fleamont Casimiro Potter

= Andy Garcia

Why; I really struggled with finding someone for Monty. I saw Oscar Isaac as a common face claim, and while I could kind of see it, something still felt off. After failing to find someone on Pinterest, I started searching through Hollywood actors, and Andy Garcia caught my attention. He has the warmth and maturity I imagine for Monty, and after sitting with the choice for a while, I can definitely see it working. Plus, he and Catherine Zeta-Jones look great together, which was something I kept in mind while choosing both Monty’s and Effie’s face claims :)

Walburga Irma Black

= Eva Green

Why; I mean… come on. Eva Green was made to be Walburga. Her sharp features, presence, energy just fit Walburga perfectly. It’s no wonder she’s such a common face claim for her — I completely understand and agree. And, of course, there’s the wild irony that Eva Green actually played Miss Peregrine in the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children movie. That’s an interesting little coincidence.

Orion Arcturus Black

= Alain Delon

Why; I’ll admit, I never thought much about Orion’s appearance until I started picking face claims. Since Walburga and Orion stop aging so young, young Alain Delon seemed like the perfect choice for Orion. He has sharp, striking features, and he can easily play the role of a cold, intimidating figure — someone who’s disinterested and distant. Again, same thing as Monty and Effie - I also wanted him and Walburga to look good/fit together.

Sirius headcanons 🐾

#1; Sirius was heavily religiously indoctrinated.

Unfortunately, Sirius would be religiously indoctrinated to an INSANE amount, even years after running away to the Potters.

In my head, the Blacks had been heavily religious for centuries. Like, Christian Catholic type of thing. And Walburga would for sure drill all the usual things into Sirius’ and Regulus’ heads — all about sex being only for making kids and nothing else, masturbation being wrong and shameful, premarital intercourse and even worse, children out of wedlock being worst things ever — you get the gist.

And Sirius would probably be able to unlearn most things that he’d been taught at home, but I feel like things that fall into THAT category would always kind of stick with him? Like, there’d definitely be rumors going around all the time about him sleeping with half the school or something when he hasn’t even had his first kiss — both because he’s gotten sort of sentimental about it by then and also because he is horrifyingly ashamed about the thought of it being sinful and wrong unless it’s, like, someone he intends to marry or something.

So, when he and Remus get together, he keeps freaking out about little things that would be usual for a couple to do, y’know? Even hand-holding and cuddling is weird now, because maybe they used to be a little physically affectionate before when they were ‘just friends’, but now that they’re romantically involved, it’s like an alarm goes off in Sirius’ head anytime they touch like: ‘Whore, whore, whore, you’ll go to hell, you guys aren’t married, God will strike you down —‘, blah blah blah.

Things you might be wondering:

1, ‘How can Walburga and Orion still be 22 and 23? That doesn’t make sense.’

It can be pretty confusing at first! The answer is: I practically made up my own rules around how time worked and in out of loops. The original source for me (the movie, I haven’t really read the books) really confused me on how they explained time out of the loop and things like that. So, I just decided that once somebody enters a loop, they automatically stop aging no matter what, whether it be out of a loop or anything like that.

In Walburga and Orion’s case, they grew up in the outside world until they were 22 and 23, when they proceeded to enter a loop their other family members made in France somewhere specifically just for anybody within their family. Eventually, they ended up pregnant with Sirius, which is when they pretty much immediately left that loop and lived in the outside world. They had him and eventually Regulus, and I like to think that they just stayed hidden in plain sight for a while until the boys had grown up a little before they moved to Bath, in England. So, Sirius and Regulus managed to age normally until the loop was made and they basically stopped aging from then on because they automatically ended up within the loop. Kind of forced on their part, but I couldn’t just refuse a little more tragedy for those two 🤷🏻‍♀️

2, ‘Aren’t Ymbrynes pretty rare? What’s the chance that there would be two Ymbrynes in the same place at once?’

They are supposed to be pretty rare, yes — but, I like to think that peculiars got more rare the more time went by, with the bad peculiars on the run as well as people starting to notice, and it being quite rare that normal families end up having peculiar children. With all that in mind, I decided that there were probably lots more Ymbrynes and other peculiars in the late 1940s/early 1950s compared to the late 1990s and further on. I couldn’t just not make Effie an Ymbryne with the knowledge that they usually are the caretakers of peculiar kids, it just seemed logical to me!!!

3, ‘How is Miss Rhiannon permanently 28 when she was born practically a century before she created the loop?’

Pretty much same thing as Walburga and Orion! I pretty much thought/decided that she would have made her first loop (being an Ymbryne and all) around the late 1870s, more specifically, 1878 — and as I mentioned before, in my mind, peculiars automatically stop aging the moment they enter any loop for the first time. With that being said, she stops aging in 1878, and creates a couple more loops around the world for peculiars until she finds other Ymbrynes to take care of them, until she eventually ends up in Bath.

Probably around the late 1940s? Some of the kids have parents (James, alongside with Sirius since Sirius does of course leave the Blacks in here as well), probably Pandora and Evan as well, Lotte and Peter too, maybe? But every other kid I’ve basically decided would have a pretty sad background and be without parents, which is why she ends up creating a home for them and eventually creating the loop to protect them as well.

4, ‘Are these all the characters?’

Very likely not! These are just the ones I’ve managed to incorporate into this world as of yet. But I will eventually add people like Snape, maybe some real villains/monsters as well? As well as other family members too, probably!!!

This will also probably not turn into anything like a fanfic unless someone else wishes to write one, because I honestly am not a writer at all 😭 I tried writing a Wolfstar oneshot months ago and still haven’t come more than halfway through, if even that. I really hate mischaracterizing in general, and I would actually hate to realize that I have in fact mischaracterized a character in any way (at least in the way I see them). So, this will not become an actual story, at least not if I’m expected to be the one to write it, lol.

All characters except Miss Rhiannon (which is my very own version of Miss Peregrine 🤩) belong to J.K Rowling and were not created by me, as well as Lottie, who’s a character that in no way belongs to me. I personally headcanon her as a part of the marauders era characters as of recently, but she has been created, written and developed by @motswolo in the fanfiction ‘The Cadence of Part-Time Poets’ on AO3 exclusively ☺️ I suggest you check it out if you haven’t, it’s easily the best Wolfstar fic of all time (or best Marauders fic in general, it’s THAT good!!!!)

Remus Lupin didn’t believe in the stories his father had left behind. But when that last postcard arrived after his death, he had no choice but to follow it — to Bath, 1951.

Setting: Swansea, Wales

Timeframe: Late spring, 1997

Remus Lupin had all but five years of his life with his parents. A faint memory of warmth, spices, soft wool, golden locks of hair, and the tongue twist that was the Welsh language. All of that, until his mother was gone, and his father left him with his aunt and uncle with no explanation to be had — never to return. His presence lingered only in postcards sent with little effort put in that Remus detested receiving, pictures of a world he himself would never see.

No friends. No hobbies. No place to belong — even among the farm of his father’s closest friends, who raised him as their own. Unwanted, unimportant, invisible to all and anyone — ordinary, and boring.

Until the last postcard arrived. Until his father’s death. Until the strange people, the cryptic maps, the faded pictures, and the letters that didn’t make sense. Until Remus ran — fleeing to a place he’d never known, to a “loop” in England, where time itself seemed to be as broken as everything else he knew.

Setting: Bath, England

Date: August 17th, 1951

The loop in Bath meant nothing changing. August 17th, 1951 — forever. The same streets, the same faces, the same air, day after day. Nothing changed. Not the weather. Not the people.

Because in 1951, people started noticing. The oddness of the children’s home, the strange inhabitants, the unnerving presence that made the air thick with whispers. There was something off —too much of one thing, not enough of another. Eyes lingered, questions went unanswered far too often, and people talked. Oh, they talked.

Not only that, but those with a bigger wish for power, for something bigger than themselves — that’s when it came. Came the murder, the stalking, the gouging of eyes and disposing of little bodies which had had no better fate anyways, abandoned by normal families who hadn’t hesitated turning a blind eye.

Miss Rhiannon couldn’t let that happen. Not to her children. Not if she could help it. She waited for the right moment — a perfect, sunny day, a light breeze, a good mood. And then, the loop. August 17th, 1951. Time stopped. The world froze for those who chose to stay, and Bath was theirs — forever so.

Miss Rhiannon’s Home For Peculiar Children: a Marauders Story 🕰️

(An AU heavily inspired by ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children’!)

Just a little note beforehand! All characters except Miss Rhiannon (which is my very own version of Miss Peregrine 🤩) belong to J.K Rowling and were not created by me, as well as Lottie, who’s a character that in no way belongs to me. Setting: Swansea, Wales

Timeframe: Late spring, 1997

Remus Lupin had all but five years of his life with his parents. A faint memory of warmth, spices, soft wool, golden locks of hair, and the tongue twist that was the Welsh language. All of that, until his mother was gone, and his father left him with his aunt and uncle with no explanation to be had — never to return. His presence lingered only in postcards sent with little effort put in that Remus detested receiving, pictures of a world he himself would never see.

No friends. No hobbies. No place to belong — even among the farm of his father’s closest friends, who raised him as their own. Unwanted, unimportant, invisible to all and anyone — ordinary, and boring.

Until the last postcard arrived. Until his father’s death. Until the strange people, the cryptic maps, the faded pictures, and the letters that didn’t make sense. Until Remus ran — fleeing to a place he’d never known, to a “loop” in England, where time itself seemed to be as broken as everything else he knew.

Setting: Bath, England

Date: August 17th, 1951

The loop in Bath meant nothing changing. August 17th, 1951 — forever. The same streets, the same faces, the same air, day after day. Nothing changed. Not the weather. Not the people.

Because in 1951, people started noticing. The oddness of the children’s home, the strange inhabitants, the unnerving presence that made the air thick with whispers. There was something off —too much of one thing, not enough of another. Eyes lingered, questions went unanswered far too often, and people talked. Oh, they talked.

Not only that, but those with a bigger wish for power, for something bigger than themselves — that’s when it came. Came the murder, the stalking, the gouging of eyes and disposing of little bodies which had had no better fate anyways, abandoned by normal families who hadn’t hesitated turning a blind eye.

Miss Rhiannon couldn’t let that happen. Not to her children. Not if she could help it. She waited for the right moment — a perfect, sunny day, a light breeze, a good mood. And then, the loop. August 17th, 1951. Time stopped. The world froze for those who chose to stay, and Bath was theirs — forever so.

Remus headcanons 🌗

#1; Lyall wasn’t an asshole.

One thing I absolutely love about fictional characters? You can do absolutely whatever you want with them, and their stories — especially when they’re showcased as little as the marauders were.

One of the most important headcanons I have when it comes to Remus is that: Lyall was NOT an asshole. In my head, he was a perfectly fine father (which means he does not have those horrendous opinions about werewolves), and Remus getting bitten was just a coincidence. He was unlucky, and it happened. I like to think Greyback was just that screwed up in the head that he randomly just went after children and turned them, and Remus just happened to be one of them. Which leads me to my next point: Lyall did not work in the Ministry, EVER. My headcanon is that he came from a pureblood family, but one like James’, that didn’t really believe in the same things as the other families. He did go to Hogwarts, but he definitely worked in the Muggle world afterwards — where he eventually met Hope. I like to think he had some very important job, y’know? I went for Minister of Justice (because I can totally see him in that position, having a law degree and all that).

And I do not think that he distanced himself from Remus afterwards, pretty much the opposite, I think they got closer and Lyall probably had to engage a lot more with Remus as a father and a supportive figure.
