Director: Rian Johnson Release date: October 1 Why it's great: I clicked on this LCD Soundsystem video fully expecting to hate it, but the star power of Sissy Spacek and David Strathairn, plus the blockbuster filmmaking of Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) won me over with a story of teleportation and grisly murder. Also, those pencil-on-paper shots at the beginning are like visual ASMR, and the song from the unretired Jay Z of hipster dance music ain't half bad either.

Street Food Cinema

For dinner and a movie, all in one, just follow the food trucks. During the summer and fall, Street Food Cinema throws together a series of mostly outdoor parties that include screenings of some of our favorite movies, paired with an assortment of gourmet food trucks and even a live music performance from a cool local band. The screenings are held in venues across L.A., and  alternate from week to week, so make sure to check the schedule. Some of the outdoor venues are dog-friendly, allowing you to bring your four-legged cinema lover along. New this year are two overnight camping events that extend the movie screening into a fun summer camp experience for grown-ups.

Swedish director signs to Pulse Films for UK representation.

Global content studio Pulse Films has signed director Joanna Nordahl to its roster for UK representation across commercials and music videos. Swedish native Nordahl, who divides her time between London and Stockholm, has created music videos, short films, documentaries and commercials as well as contemporary performance pieces, garnering her recognition both as a director and visual artist.

Animation director and illustrator signs to London prodco.

Strange Beast has signed Joseph Melhuish for worldwide representation. The London-based animation director and illustrator, who specialises in glossy and twisted CGI creations, has worked for brands including Vice, MTV and Adult Swim as well as animated illustrations for Bloomberg and Red Bull Music Academy.

Enas Rashwan will head up the non-profit organisation's first international chapter.

The One Club for Creativity, the non-profit organisation devoted to elevating and celebrating creative excellence in advertising and design on a global basis, has established The One Club for Creativity-Cairo as its first international chapter. The new chapter will offer creatives in Egypt an array of programming across creative disciplines, with all initiatives falling under four key pillars: education, inclusion & diversity, professional development and gender equality.

“Stop Trying To Be God” Travis Scott *Featuring Philip Bailey, James Blake, Kid Cudi and Stevie Wonder on harmonica

Travis Scott dropped a music video for his new song, "Stop Trying to Be God," from his latest Astroworld album on Tuesday, and it is definitely interesting, to say the least. Not only does it feature James Blake, Kid Cudi, and Stevie Wonder, but Scott's girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, appears in it, as well, as — wait for it — the Virgin Mary. Yep, Jenner is shown covered in gold paint while holding a lamb, and that's just one of the many biblical references in the video. Scott is also shown baptizing fans in one of the scenes, as well as walking through the street with a herd of sheep. You just have to watch the whole thing for it to make sense.

London-based visual effects studio hires EP & Flame artist

Fairburn, who joins as EP, started off as a runner, eventually moving into producing. He spent two years at Glassworks before joining Electric Theatre Collective, where he worked on campaigns for clients like Nike, Puma, and Tetley Tea. Whittle also began his career as a runner at MPC in 2010, before moving to Smoke & Mirrors and working his way up to Flame artist. Whittle's reel includes work for Fosters, Mitsubishi and Amazon and he was also part of the VFX team for Mitsubishi’s The Leader campaign.

Drake continues to stay ahead of the hip hop game with his multi-genre, stylistic music. “God’s Plan” made number 1 on the Top 100 Billboard hits and stayed there for 11 weeks, making “God’s Plan” Drake’s longest-leading Hot 100 number 1. This catchy single has already gone 7X platinum, and being the icon figure that he is, Drake was given close to a one million dollar budget for the music video. Every penny he was given was spent, but not exactly on what you’d expect.

John O'Hagan signs to 2AM

O'Hagan was born in Dublin, Ireland and now lives on the East Coast, USA. He graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts with a Master of Fine Arts in Film, having studied and worked under directors such as Todd Haynes, Spike Lee, and David Byrne. O'Hagan's commercial, Cat Herders, for EDS, has been consistently listed as one of the Top 10 Super Bowl commercials of all time. Skunk signs Blue

SKUNK have signed award-winning filmmaker Amanda Blue to their roster for UK and transatlantic representation. Born and raised in Sydney, Blue moved to London to complete a Masters’ degree in Film and honed her craft working for Oscar-nominated feature film director, Mike Figgis. An award-winning documentary filmmaker, Blue has been writing and directing documentaries and drama for the past 15 years and has a Best Director BAFTA nomination and a Banff award for Best Unscripted Series to her name.
