I just saw another post talking about Percy is better than Jason because Percy became Praetor in a week while Jason took years, and I'm like...
Motherfcker, did you expect Jason to be put in charge of an entire army when he was FOUR??!!!
That's what people forget. Percy was 16, nearly 17, and had been to Camp Half-Blood for about 4 years by that point, so he had some leadership experience. Jason was barely out of toddlerhood, and had just survived 2 years of traumatic, brutal, wolf training from Lupa, and was already stressed and so broken when he got to Camp Jupiter.
Would you, in your right mind, put a tortured 4-year-old under HUGE pressure when he's already struggling??????

But Jason Grace was the Jason Todd to Percy Jackson's Dick Grayson,

He'll Wait For Them ~ Jason Grace
The pain didn’t register at first. There was only the rush of adrenaline, the metallic scent of blood, and the sound of his own heartbeat thundering in his ears. Then came the cold.
Jason looked down and saw the spearhead jutting from his chest, slick with crimson red that was quickly turning purple, glinting mockingly in the light. Water sloshed around his feet—no, higher than that. It was up to his waist now. The ship was sinking. Fast.
He coughed, choking on blood and saltwater, and it hit him.
He was dying.
The realization was silent and immediate, like the click of a lock turning in his chest. He was dying. The spear through his lungs had sealed it. The arrows buried in his arms, legs, shoulder—those only confirmed it. There was no getting out of this one. No miraculous rescue. No godly intervention.
He would not be saved.
And gods, it hurt. Not just the wounds—though they burned and throbbed like fire licking through his nerves—but the sorrow. The grief that rolled over him in waves. He wasn’t going to make it.
He wouldn’t see his friends grow old.
Annabeth, wise and steady, laughing beside Percy—gods, Percy— with gray streaks in her hair. Going over blueprints late into the night. Frank with that kind, uncertain smile turning into the gentle strength of a leader and later a father. Hazel learning to live again in a world she finally had time to love. Nico maybe—maybe—opening his heart and finding peace, finding love. Even Reyna, solemn and guarded, finally letting someone in. His old friend.
His old friend's from Camp Jupiter. Dakota, Gwen, Bobby, and others. They didn't talk anymore, but he still saw their futures. Their bright futures once they moved to New Rome.
He saw it all in flashes, blurry and bright and agonizingly beautiful. And he wouldn’t be part of it.
He wouldn’t be there to laugh at Percy’s bad dad jokes, or to cry at Annabeth’s and Percy's wedding, or to hold Hazel and Frank's baby in his arms. He wouldn't get to see Nico and Will's relationship continue to grow. He wouldn’t get to be “Uncle Jason," or maybe even "Dad." He’d never know what it was like to love someone for decades, to sit beside them in the late autumn of their lives and reminisce. To hold a child that was his. His to nurture, to love, to teach, to hug.
He sobbed—ragged, wet, open-mouthed sobs that shook his whole body.
It wasn’t fair. He wanted to stay.
He wanted to live.
He wanted to grow old.
He wanted to tell their children about monsters and war and ridiculous quests gone wrong, about friendship and fear and flying without wings. He wanted to be there.
But he wouldn’t be.
“I’m sorry,” he choked, voice barely audible over the water crashing through the shattered hull. “I’m so, so sorry.”
He thought of Thalia—fierce, wild, protective Thalia—and his heart ached. His big sister. He loved his sister so much. She had already lost him once. Now it was real. Final. Irrevocable.
But then… clarity. A different kind of stillness began to settle over him.
If he was here—if he was the one dying—then Piper wasn’t.
One of them had to fall. And gods, he was grateful it was him.
Piper would live. She would thrive. And maybe—hopefully—she’d find someone who saw her the way he always hoped she’d be seen: fierce and kind and full of fire. She’d get to love again, to grow into something freer than their fate-bound love ever allowed her to be.
And Leo.
Leo was alive.
His best friend was alive.
The sobs shifted, softened, became something lighter. He laughed—just once, breathless and broken and full of something bright.
Leo was alive. That beautiful, reckless genius had done it. He was alive.
Jason’s tears now came with a smile. Small, weak, but real.
If it took his death to give Leo and Piper a chance at long, happy, love-filled lives…
Then that was okay.
More than okay.
He’d wait for them.
Because he knew none of them were going to join him too soon. He trusted Apollo to make sure of that. He trusted his brother.
Decades from now, when Piper’s hair was streaked with gray and Leo had grease stains on his wrinkled coveralls that he'd still think were in style, they’d come. Not in sorrow. Not in mourning. But with stories. With laughter. With tales of their children and their significant others, and their travels, and the million tiny moments that made up a lifetime.
Jason would listen. He’d smile. He’d hug them. And he’d finally get to say, “You did it. You lived.”
He was so tired.
So, so tired.
And finally, for the first time since he was four years old, there was no expectation. No weight on his shoulders. No orders. No missions. No thundering voice of Jupiter or cold stare of a general.
Just quiet. Just love.
He was going to rest.
Jason Grace died with a smile on his face, warmth in his chest, and love in his heart.
He would wait for them. Always.

I hate to say this, but I feel like Jason pre-Heroes of Olympus would bully the sh!t out of the Jason we had in Heroes of Olympus.
It would be like that mock battle between fanon!Cassandra Cain and canon!Cassandra Cain. Where fanfics and the fandom boiled Cass down to a girl who loves her brothers, loves her family, is always sweet and smiling, and can only communicate in sign language, when in actual comics, Cass speaks a lot, and really picks favorites among her brothers and family. She has a bright smile, but she also has a scowl and an intimidating glare.
Pre-HoO Jason: MOTHERFCKER, WE SPENT SO LONG FCKING LEARNING HOW TO GROW A BACKBONE AND SAY NO TO THE GODS AND FCKING AUTHORITY FIGURES AND NOW YOUR DOLL ASS IS BACK TO BEING THE PERFECT SOLDIER FOR THE GODS
Canon!Jason:... I-
Pre-HoO Jason: THE FCK YOU MEAN YOU COULDN'T BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF OCTAVIAN AT THE VERY BEGINNING????? JUST DO OUR WHOLE SPEECH ON HIM, DO THE WOLF-STARE, AND THE SLIMY SKUNK WOULD'VE FOLDED QUICKER THAN YOU
Canon!Jason: I feel like you've got some issues
Pre-HoO Jason: OF FCKING COURSE I DO IDIOT! I'VE BEEN FCKING ABUSED AND TORTURED FOR OVER A DECADE. I AIN'T ABOUT THE SIT LIKE A GOOD BOY WHEN THESE SENATORS TELL ME WHAT TO DO! I AM JASON GODSDAM ALEXANDER GRACE, AND I HATE YOU AND THE FACT THAT YOU'VE GONE BACK TO BEING JUPITER AND THE FATE'S LITTLE PUPPET! GROW A DAM SPINE!
Canon!Jason: We are literally the same person :(
Pre-HoO Jason: I wouldn't have died to some crusty, dusty, old antique ex-emperor.
(Not saying canon Jason ain't powerful or intimidating, but I think pre-memory wipe Jason was on a whole other level)

I feel like there are a lot of options for powers that Jason Grace could've had, and that these opportunities could've been golden if done right
Powers of Justice, Hospitality, Order, and Kingship. One thing that many people forget is that Jupiter/Zeus is also the God of Justice and Hospitality. Jupiter was known to have the final say on everything. It would have been interesting if Jason had powers like his father, where he was able to punish all those who had broken the laws of hospitality. committed some injustice, or ruined the natural order of things in a community. Like, sentence them to Tartarus or something cool like that. Judge and decide on what afterlife a person or monster was going to receive by having some scales of divine judgement. Be able to see all their life choices, and let the facts speak for themself as the scales shifted
2. Powers of the Constellations and Stars I sincerely think that Jason should've gained some abilities from Krios after he defeated him. Like, inherited part of his domain in some way. Powers like: tracking using the constellations to tell where he is, starlight manipulation that he can use to give his enemies, some bright bursts of light as a distraction, getting a better connection to the thermosphere and exosphere winds, being able to predict when the next eclipses and other spacely events would occur, Astrokiness in general, and being able to look at Earth from the perspective of the constellation Aries, and call upon help from it (The Ram). His eyes would also change to match the color of the sky overhead and outer space whenever he used these powers
3. Powers given to him by Lupa There is no way toddler Jason could've actually survived the Wolf House without dying at the Age of 2, without some help from Lupa. I think maybe Lupa blessed him with a stronger immune system, the ability to eat raw meat, and gave him fangs or other wolf accessories, like claws and pointy ears. Lupa is also known more for her abilities to shape others, rather than divine powers like all the other gods. Therefore, I think Jason learned that supporting nature and encouraging behavior after being with Lupa for so long. Lupa is also more connected as a goddess in the wilderness and wild, so maybe Jason had some sort of connection to the woods, and being able to have wolf-like hunting, stalking, body language reading, and increased endurance, stamina, strength, and speed from all his time spent in the wild and with the wolves. If you've ever watched the movie "Wolfwalkers," I'm picturing something like that.
4. Blessings by Hera/Juno as her Champion Juno is known as a protector of warriors. I think Jason may have had some of that mindset rub off on him, paired with the fact that he was raised by wolves, and they are known to be territorial, and that's why he's so protective of his friends and family. Hera/Juno is also known as the goddess of marriage and patron of women. Another perk, maybe he could tell if a woman was being abused or a marriage wasn't working out. (Tying back to the Justice and Order thing)
All in all, I think there are so many powers that Jason could've had in his arsenal than just storms, lightning, thunder, flying, electricity, and wind manipulation (Not that I don't think those aren't OP powers)
I think Rick should've spent more time expanding on both the Grace Siblings. Thalia should've gotten to get over her fear of heights and gained the ability to fly or some sort of power based around Justice, and maybe we should've seen some of the perks she had as being the Lieutenant of Artemis. They both should've gotten a Big Three Kid moment where they sucked the wind out of someone's blood and lungs or mind controlled them using the nerves in the human body, or simply just instantly killing people because of their ability to manipulate electricity.
We could've also gotten something cool like a Mind-Link between Jason and Thalia after they were reunited. They are the first siblings in history that are both born of the same mother, but one born Greek, and the other born Roman. They could've had some sort of mind-link that formed once the two camps made peace with each other and started co-existing in harmony, symbolizing the bridge between the two pantheons.
I think Thalia and Jason should've had moments where they sent out very clear messages proving that they were the Son and Daughter of the King of the Gods. And showing why one was the Lieutenant of the Goddess Artemis and the other the Champion of the Queen of the Heavens. Just like how it was made VERY clear in Blood of Zeus why Zeus and Hera were the King and Queen.

Nico: Why are you calling me this early?
Jason: I need your help. Something terrible's happened
Nico: Alright, put the corpse on ice. I'm on my way
Jason: Ok
**Later**
Nico:....
Jason:... Look. He challenged me to a fist-fight
*Percy Jackson's corpse*
Nico: How hard did you hit him??????
Jason: It never got that far
Nico:... Then what happened to him??
Jason: I tore off my shirt in a show of strength, and he just collapsed to the floor, bleeding heavily from his nose

Praetors of Rome
FCK the idea of Jason becoming Praetor during the Battle of Mount Othrys. He became Praetor when he was 13, and was Praetor alongside another legionnaire who had practically raised him, and taught him a lot. During this time, Reyna had only joined a couple of months back and was still training, working her way up, and forming her friendship with Jason.
During the Battle of Mount Othrys, Jason's co-Praetor is slain in battle, and it's Reyna who steps up to help him lead. Once the battle is over, Reyna is the one lifted on the shields alongside Jason, as she is hailed the New Praetor. Jason couldn't be prouder of her, and is honoured to be able to work by her side as they lead Camp Jupiter going forward.

Cassandra Cain & Jason Grace HC Parrallels
1. Mute/No knowledge on how to read or write because they were too busy training and fighting
2. Advanced with dozens of common and exotic weapons - swords and spears, yes, but also Black Ops Trench Cleaver, Flails, Bagh Nakhs, Butterfly Knives, and Axes (Also guns)
3. Both found killing horrible, but unlike Cass, Jason wasn't able to get away after his first kill (Which I very much believe was a human)
4. Both became numb to the pain that should have killed them, just because of how much they had to go through it and had grown used to it
5. LOVE ballet
6. The sweetest, most lovable people to others, and the deadliest and most savage in battle
7. Seen as perfect by others, but they're hurting so badly on the inside, and have no one to help them through their trauma
8. People pleasers, to the point that they hurt themselves to help others
9. Older brother who is beloved and has a relation to the color blue (whom they can beat in physical, hand-to-hand, and weaponry combat), but can also relate to the pressure of needing to be good
10. A best friend WHO THEY SHOULD BE DATING (Stephcass and Valgrace or Jercy if you wanted)
11. Expert readers of Body Language. Literally, their first languages
12. Got horrifically tortured - Getting sh0t with bullets
13. Never knew what Fatherly or Motherly affection was
14. Have so, so, so many scars

Perfect Harmony - Jercy Headcanon
Jason has pollen/flower allergies, or like the usual Spring/Summer allergy thing, but it's really bad, so it almost looks like he's sick, but child soldier training and endurance have built his immune system up to be able to bear the cold without getting sick. Percy, being from the sea, has an immune system that doesn't do well in the winter, so he gets sick a lot in the winter months, but he absolutely loves the spring and summer times when the ocean is at its finest. When either of them is sick, they will literally dote on each other and are at their most overprotective. Like, if you ask the "sick" one to do a quest during these seasons, the other will literally kill you (I LOVE JERCY) IF YOU HAVE JERCY SICKFICS DON"T BE AFRAID TO SHARE OR PLEASE WRITE ON SINCE JERCY WEEK IS COMING UP!!!!!!!

Pontifex Maximus
As you all know, Jason was considered the halfway point between being a Greek and a Roman. He was the bridge, and he represented them both. He didn't choose one or the other, he chose both...
But isn't that what isolated him?
Too Greek for Rome, and too Roman for Greece
There is no other character in the series who is explicitly stated as being part of both camps. (Percy doesn't count because at the end of the day, his loyalties lie with Camp Half-Blood, kinda the same for Nico. And Frank, Reyna, and Hazel never considered themselves Greek.)
Jason is in between both camps by himself. Imagine a straight line, Camp Half-Blood on one side, and Camp Jupiter on the other. Jason would be all alone at the center, while his friends and everyone else are on one side or the other.

Weapon... I am a Weapon
Jason sat alone on the roof of Cabin One, watching the stars blur behind storm clouds.
It was quiet. The kind of quiet that let your thoughts echo too loudly.
He exhaled slowly, a soundless breath that left no fog in the air, and stared at the bronze coin in his palm—Ivilius. Sword. Javelin. Tool. Like him.
People said a lot of things about Jason Grace.
Leader. Hero. Son of Jupiter. A good man.
They didn’t know. They didn’t understand.
Jason didn’t feel like a hero. He felt like muscle memory. Like precision. Like violence distilled into a teenage frame and polished until there were no fingerprints left.
He should’ve been hesitant to fight. His fatal flaw—duty—should’ve made him second guess every blade drawn. But it hadn’t. He’d learned young how to bypass that. How to be loyal after the blood was spilled. Because hesitation got you killed. Worse, it got your team killed.
So he didn’t hesitate.
He fought every fight like it was his last. Because that’s what he was taught. That’s what was beaten into him: how to read a person’s body before their face, how to spot weakness before hearing a name, how to look at a room and clock all exits, all cover, all vantage points in less than five seconds. His body reacted before he consciously did. Instinct. Training.
His first languages hadn’t been English or Latin. They were violence and observation.
Reading the twitch of an ankle before it turned into a lunge. Sensing a shift in posture that preceded a punch. Dodging without thinking, because thinking got you hurt.
So when he laughed—it felt unnatural. Forced. And more often, he didn’t laugh at all. Not even when Leo made that dumb dolphin noise that got Percy wheezing. Not even when Piper pulled off those perfect impressions of Chiron.
Because even then, even surrounded by friends, he wasn’t sure how to drop the act. Or maybe, this was the act. Or maybe he wasn’t acting at all, and that was the part that scared him.
They whispered sometimes—campers who thought he couldn’t hear.
“Why does he look so blank all the time?” “He never talks.” “Is he... okay?”
He didn’t blame them. He asked himself the same thing, sometimes.
He could go weeks without speaking. Months without crying. He could slit a monster’s throat and not blink when the blood splattered on his face. He could be drenched in it—red and thick and not his own—and it never occurred to him to be bothered. Not really.
He didn’t recoil. He didn’t shake.
Because weapons don’t flinch. And Jason Grace was a weapon, forged by Rome and honed by pain.
No matter how many campfires he sat by, no matter how many silly stories he half-smiled at, no matter how many times he tried to believe he was human—he knew the truth.
He was built to kill.
And gods help him, he was good at it. @sodamnbored, @starlightshadowsworld, @puriteenism

My take on Percabeth
'Kay, I'ma about to say something that might get me on someone's target list, but I DO NOT SHIP PERCABETH, HEAR ME OUT! I'm not anti to the ship, but I prefer friendships and sibling-type dynamics with any and all things I read... Im not big on romantic stuff (Granted their are some ships I love), and I just never really understood the hype about Percabeth. Like, I read the books, but it never struck me as something that would ever turn romantic. (Plus I seriously HATE that the fandom jumps to compare percabeth with any new ship that pops up, and then just hating on the new ship if it didn't make the supposed "percabeth standard")

Jason's Glasses
I don't think we understand how terrible Jason's luck truly is...
Like bro was already given the WORST most HORRIFIC childhood ever by Rick *cough Tumblr actually cough* Riordan, and on top of that... Man's gotta PAY to be able to see
He's got to give something up (money) to be able to have one of the most basic things in life - sight... Is there anything Jason got that he didn't have to sacrifice something for??????

Jason Grace Theme Song
Hiding in the Blue by Thefatrat and RIELL
[Verse 1] I'm alone here on my island Floating in the sky, I’m High above the world I used to know And I'm far from any danger Safe from any failure Guarded, I found shelter in the storm
[Chorus] I'm hiding in the blue Safe between the clouds In the blue Where I can’t be found
[Verse 2] Was a soldier in the legion Fought against the demons Fought against the monsters made of gold But they stormed across Arcadia Following their nature Washed away the place I once called home
[Chorus] I'm hiding in the blue Safe between the clouds In the blue Where I can't be found I'm hiding in the blue
[Drop] I'm hiding in the blue
[Verse 3] As time goes racing by, I'm wishing I could be fine But I'm still so stuck on what used to be Made a prison out of my mind Watch life as it goes by Battle scarred, my own worst enemy
[Chorus] I'm hiding in the blue Safe between the clouds In the blue Where I can’t be found I’m hiding in the blue
[Drop] I'm hiding in the blue I’m hiding in the blue
[Bridge] The world's passing by, and I lost sense of time, I've Gone numb, I miss the days when We were making legends The days come and go, I'll Wait through sun and snow For you to come and take me from This place and bring me home
[Chorus] In the blue Safe between the clouds In the blue Where I can’t be found I'm hiding in the blue
[Drop] In the blue In the blue
