I have this ‘Fic Idea’ list I started a while back and I thought ‘man I might as well post these.’ It’s a multifandom garbage heap, take want you want? Good luck deciphering them cause I sure can’t oops

(if anything looks like a fic you have already seen 1- I might have gotten the idea from there 2- post the name/author in the comments I love finding new things to read :))

I think this is very neat :)) it’s just the ‘random child knows things he probably shouldn’t but no one questions it’ vibe is always immaculate to me

Starting a new blog! I have never used twitter once in my life and I’m still figuring out this tweet making app but I think this could be fun! Ignore any weird inconsistencies please I’m trying. All usernames were made up on the spot I hope none of them are used by real people and if they are they weren’t intended to be.

Wrote a mha fic! One of my favorite tropes is Quirkless Izuku, so that’s what I went with- Blind eyes could blaze like meteors.

I’m still working on it, I have no clue how long it’s going to end up being. Currently have four chapters posted, a tentative outline, and a timeline subject to change.

And it was killing Danny.

It’s a bit shorter than the last chapter and I plan on doing some grammar/spelling fixes if I see something. I’m pretty happy with how it came out!

Aight so one trope I really like (or type of fic, rather) is Outside POV, or POV outside of the normal cast of characters.

Like a POV from a side character or a character the author created that could, theoretically, be a realistic character in universe.

It’s really interesting to me, seeing how different perspective can change the story and how the world is viewed. It’s kinda like camera and photo filters, one photo can be very different just by changing the filter.

Anyway, this a long way of saying I wrote an Outsider POV fic. Check it out if you want, or don’t. It’s the first fic I’ve ever written, so please be kind!

Hello there! 👋 I was wondering if you had any tips on how to motivate yourself to write? I write fanfics but I never finish them.

I always lose the motivation to finish them halfway through or not long after starting them, and it’s just been this endless cycle of me starting a new story, never finishing it and making a new one again and again.

And its driving me crazy because I do want to finish them, but I just can’t seem to put anything on paper. (It probably doesn’t help that I have a bad case of perfectionism and I’m almost never pleased with what I write) Is there any I can do to help with this or am I just stuck in this endless loop?

Hi there :)

First of all, I have to be honest, I'm at a point right now where if I don't finish it in one sitting, I won't finish it at all. So for now, I am only writing smaller pieces. 5k max and I will be writing for hours without stopping. And I'm happy with that at the moment, but I do hope when I have more time to get back into writing longer pieces.

I have some posts for you that help in general with writer's block and wishing to write more:

How to get rid of writer’s block

But since you are writing, but just not finishing, I will also give you some additional advice. Try to write short fiction. Write for 20 minutes and whatever you have then, call it finished. It's finished for you. Don't edit it, just let it be like this. If you've done this a few times, up your game. Set a timer for 20 minutes and write whatever you come up with. When the timer goes off, you have another ten minutes to give your story an ending and edit it if you want. Then stop and call it finished.

Now you have a short piece of writing with an actual ending.

Since you like to write fanfiction and it seems like multi-chapters could be a problem try this: start a collection, not a multi-chapter fic.

You can still find a common theme and some kind of overarching storyline, but it's less stressful for you to finish shorter, basically stand-alone one shots, than writing chapters that need to build on each other.

This way you can become more confident in your ability to finish what you start and hopefully this helps you with your perfectionism. Not liking a one shot is easier to handle than not liking a whole chapter of a bigger story.
