I have a love affair photographing the Statue of Liberty. The way the Statue stands proud in New York harbor. Facing each new day. A call to freedom from slavery, tyranny. I am an immigrant that came in by boat in 1960 into NY harbor. To me, America represents a country where people help each. There is a beautiful hike above Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Culture National Historical Park, New Mexico. In the winter there is hardly anyone there, and the snow outlines the buildings wonderfully. This is one of my favorite places to explore in the United States. One becomes transported in time to when Chaco Canyon was the cultural center of ancient Pueblo Peoples. It is a world UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is essential for Americans to know about our history. I feel what makes us unique as a country is the Native Ameican heritage of the land.
