I couldn't stop thinking about what implications the Eternity in the Embrace of Sloth story taking place years into the future had regarding the other ancients. Which led to the thought of Pure Vanilla Cookie. Then one thought led to another and I suddenly could not rest until I saw Truthless Recluse and Protector of Paradise interacting.

Silent salt's other design

Okay, so I was scrolling down CRK twitter the other day, and stumbled upon leaked eternal sugar cookie beast raid art.

Nothing special, I thought ‘cool’, and moved on with my day before I decided to come back to it and check out silent salt’s design.

Since they are coming out soon, I wanted to see how different the beast raid silhouette was from the anniversary site one.....

AND WELL TURNS OUT THEY LOOK TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE BLACK/PURPLE SILHOUETTE!!!

One of the first things, you may notice is that silent salt’s souljam is on their sword, NOT THEIR CHEST as shown in their black/purple silhouette and their concept art. As you can see here.

But that’s not all, their color pallet is different from the previous design too. The most obvious being that their souljam is a different color, instead of purple, it’s light gray. At the end of the smoke coming out of their helmet, you can see it’s slightly red instead of purple. You can also see the red at the side of their helmet, underneath their arm, & sword.

Keep in mind, we don’t only see this in Eternal Sugar's beast raid art but the others as well!

While the other beasts certainly do effect salt’s color pallete, the red colors and soul placement stay consistent throughout all the beast raid art. At first, I thought this was just a concept design they left in there but after looking at all of silent salt’s previous appearances in both art and the trailer. I am convinced this is intentional.

We can see Silent Salt’s souljam is light gray and on their sword in a page from the anniversary book, shadow milk’s puppets, and even one of the beast yeast trailer. Speaking of that trailer, there is a red tint in silent salt smoke just like in the beast raid art. While I am aware this could be just the lighting,I thought it was worth pointing out.

And that’s all the appearances of this design so far……..... Okay, wow, that was a lot (more than I am used to). Anyway, I do acknowledge that this design could be just concept art, and I am looking way too much into this, however there is one too many instances of this “concept art” being used. While other beast silhouettes are different, they aren't too different from the final design. Now do I think they are gonna use this “design” instead of the one from anniversary site? No, since it’s clear that they aren't going to ditch that design based on the beast gacha art and, more recently, official artwork of the beasts going out for cake.

So what does this mean exactly? As of now, we don't have any solid answers, only theories. So since I am already locked, might as well put my own theory here on what's going on.

My theory

In this theory I shall be referring to the anniversary silhouette as Purple salt while the beast raid silhouette (and all the other instances of them I mentioned) as Red Salt.

Starting off this section, I believe Red salt is possibly the real silent salt as in the actual beast.In the beast yeast trailer, we see that precorrupt silent salt’s souljam color is light gray. While theirs and Red Salt’s soul jams colors are slightly different (mostly due to lighting),I am willing to bet that they are one and the same. Not to mention, It’s commonly theorized that Silent Salt’s souljam wasn’t originally on their chest. It used to be on their sword before it was moved onto their chest, but as we can see with Red Salt, their souljam is back on their sword.

So it would be safe to assume Red salt is Preccorrupt’s beast design....but if that’s the case how does the other one come into play ? We know eventually they did since in the ending scene Silent Salt’s souljam is purple instead of light gray.

I possibly have an explanation for this.It actually relates to one of two theories from an unreleased post theorizing why silent salt souljam looked different from their precorrupt’s.

The relevant theory to this post, being that someone else was possessing salt’s souljam. My reasoning for this being that the souljam color usually drastically changes when they get a new owner. We have seen this with dark cacao and mystic flour, golden cheese & burning spice, etc etc. That’s why salt’s case caught my eyes because their souljam color shifted from light gray to purple. While eternal sugar, shadow milk, & burning spice’s souljam colors(and shapes) do change, they aren’t a dramatic shift from their previous colors. Even in burning spice’s case, where the color went from orange to red.

The reason I didn’t post it because shadow milk’s & pure vanilla’s souljam colors were basically the same, and I thought that pretty much disproved my theory. Keep in mind, this was before the shadow milk update released...kinda wish I released that theory when I came up with it. :/ Anyway, what better time than the present, right?

Now am I saying that purple salt at some point, killed red salt and became a beast themselves? No, that’s not where I am going with this. I believe that Red Salt & Purple Salt are both sharing a soul with the now corrupt virtue of solidarity. Red Salt being the real beast while purple salt is either an alter ego or another soul possessing this body. The latter being possibly hinted at in silent salt’s plushie, having multicolor buttons.

How did this happen? I am not really sure since we haven't gotten many tidbits of lore for Silent Salt (aside from that one cutscene from the shmilk update). All we know for sure, it happened at some point during or after the virtue of solidarity’s corruption.

The best we can do is speculate, so that's what I am going to do in this final part. There is little to no evidence in bullet points. This is just me blabbing even more

Okay, so basically it’s theorized that silent salt is heavily connected to the witches in some way. So what if something relating to them that caused the creation of purple salt side. Just like with DE creation but instead of splitting, the two shared a body.

If it’s true that silent salt did in fact trapped the beasts, it would be kinda ironic. Like imagine red salt/real salt being one who caused the others to corrupt in the first place, while Purple Salt was one to put an end to their terror. To be clear, I don't think purple salt is 100% the good guy, we don't know their motives as of now. So at best, they could be a neutral.

Based on the beast raid art, I think red salt/real silent salt will come back within the story. Possibly being the one who lands the final blow to white lily.

Anyway, sorry for taking so long. This was supposed to be a simple rewrite of a previous post but ended up being a lot more than I expected. Feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions. I would love to hear them!
