Kinda dumb, but for all my writer and reader friends out there:

The ending is when the story stops. There is no story in the ending, just void.

The story is the wild rollercoaster that eventually skids into the ending ass-backwards and sideways, somehow leaving you better than you started. Is there gonna be some shit? Yeah! Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen, Eragon, Darwen Arkwright, and literally any other protagonist ever goes through some shit! But that shit is the grubby, muddy, icky layer which gives necessary contrast to the absolute sparkling gems of existence that occasionally get beaned at your head like a major-league baseball pitch.

Tl:Dr: do you want your biography to be three pages long? No? Then keep putting one foot in front of the other.

do something good today.

call your loved ones, speak to them. listen to a new album from band you've heard about but didn't have time to get into. water your plants. draw a cat. but please don't give up, and keep living.

The best community I have ever found for exercise is rock climbers. (Here we go, I'm getting on my climbing high horse again lol)

In general, the community I found at my local rock gym is full of the BEST people. Once, when my area got hit by a hurricane, all the climbers who lived in the area got together the day after the roads opened again and had a hang-out in the gym. A couple people brought snacks, and everyone just vibed in that post-'yeah a huge storm just wrecked like 30% of our trees and a bunch of roofing shingles'-traumatic-event way. (I say traumatic event loosely, but my rant about the perceived danger of low-category hurricanes in prepared communities is for another time.)

ANYWAY, I really love rock climbing, and how welcoming my community is just goes to emphasize the above point! It might be a different thing for you, but the problem with exercise isn't exercise, the problem is the people who tie it to disordered body image ideals.

Tldr: idk man, throwing myself up a 15' section of wall unassisted every week or so in the company of Chill Peeps just makes my brain happy or somethin'.

more people would exercise if this culture didn't make it absolute hell

Is it weird for ao3 users from Australia to see the multiple form of 'AU'? Like, when used with proper grammar, I imagine it isn't *so* confusing: 'AUs' seems like it's distinct enough to avoid confusion. 'AUS' and 'aus', on the other hand, are both grammatical errors I've seen on the Archive, and even I occasionally blink and think, "Australia?"

Idk, if there's any Australian Ao3 users floating around, maybe lmk what you think. I'm interested to know!

IN A COFFEE SHOP

You: Hey, do you guys have any green tea?

You: With milk foam?

Ao3: Yep. Anything else?

You: And popping boba pearls?

You: I dunno, can you add spicy pepper caramel and two extra teaspoons of caffeine powder to that?

Ao3: ... no, but we'll have those by the next time you order.

Use The Sims Wiki for an easy list of different traits to include in characters!

Need a personality trait to really fluff that empty cotton sock you call a character? They've got those! Need the first glimmer of a hobby so your OC has something to do with those hands? The Sims Wiki has those, too! (Good job drawing those btw) Is it - horror of horrors - time for your OC to get a JOB? The Sims Wiki has a list of careers that sims can have!

Is it a complete list of all the hobbies, traits, and careers ever to exist on planet earth ever and forever? HA! No. Buuuuuut, it is a good launch point, and if you're really stuck in that quagmire of 'nice, super powerful, meek, badass, everybody hates her' Mary Sues, then The Sims Wiki offers such gems as:

The Mixology skill!

The careers have a handy-dandy master chart of all the games, but alas I couldn't find one for the traits and skills. Those, it seems, have a chart for each game.

Cardamom is such a good spice, I swear. My Dad just took me to a local place that does really good samosas and has fresh spices and stuff, and they had a variety of interesting drinks. He got a jeera masala soda, and I got iced karak chai with cardamom. The masala soda was not either of our things, but the cardamom chai was actually amazing! It reminded me why I love cardamom so much, as though I needed reminding.

Anyway, that concludes my love letter to cardamom, I'm going to go huff the bag of black cardamom pods we got.

So, SO tempted to write a letter to my governor congratulating him on his legal sex change.

Guys trump made everyone female???? Somehow???? Which means straight people don’t exist I guess???? This administration shares one brain cell that just did apoptosis. So um I guess everyone is either aspec or a lesbian? Idk I’m trying to laugh so I don’t cry.

It was an elective in my high school. Was. The ASL 1 teacher left the year I started, and the ASL 2 teacher couldn't cover the classes. The school just decided to give up on the program entirely, which sucks! What about all the people who could use that class in their daily life? Deaf people? Selectively mute people? People interested in extending common courtesy to disabled people?

As an interesting anecdote to reinforce the point:

I actually think learning ASL as a mandatory class would have helped me greatly. I have selective mutism and also long-term complications from a TBI, and talking is so freaking hard. I can write just fine, and I can communicate my needs easily, but sometimes talking feels like torture. I started learning ASL a few months ago, and already my stress levels have dropped because I don't have to worry so much about vocalizing my words. I didn't realize how much stress I was under, trying to make myself speak, until it lessened. I know less than twenty signs in ASL, and it's already made me more functional than pretty much ever before because I'm not worried about giving myself a headache when I'm speaking. Also, the physical motions and facial expressions involved are easier for me to remember and recreate than the vast array of tones, volumes, inflections, and sounds required for verbal speech!

Long/short: TEACH KIDS ASL, DANG IT!

Like, I thought it was just sort of... generally accepted that Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Peter Parker, etc, etc are all chronically malnourished because their superpowers all pull from their metabolisms, and without something like an NJ tube, they physically can't eat enough to maintain a healthy backup store of nutrients. If they're not constantly eating high-calorie food, they're going to be devouring their own fat stores and eventually their own muscle fibers for nutrients.

There was a whole minor plotline in the CW version of The Flash that addressed Barry Allen's food issues, and the STAR Labs team had to synthesize him a specific meal supplement bar or he would have starved to death in days. I know, I know, mixing fandoms when this started in Marvel, but it's a valid point. Even some normal irl humans have extra dietary needs due to metabolic issues!

(That is also why I always assumed they draw superhuman heroes so buff. They have literally zero body fat, because they can barely manage to reach the nutritional requirements that let them maintain their functionality as organisms, much less all the extra stuff that human bodies try to put away just in case.)

But like, yeah, these peeps are basically starving All The Time. I'm more surprised that only Wolverine is kinda an asshole about it, tbh! /hj

We need to talk about the drawbacks to super healing more. Healing takes a LOT of calories. If it happens all at once, you're 1) gonna drain your energy, and 2) probably gonna lose a little weight. Also, healing too fast is why humans get scar tissue (partially). And not to mention blood clots can end up happening as well.

So basically, as nice as it would be to walk off a stab wound in like a day, there's gonna be a LOT of consequences

Stock bones. Like, when you eat bone-in steak or roast, you just toss the bones into a pot with herbs and spices, and you let it simmer for a few hours to get all the good stuff. Humans are just soup, and our bones are just there to make the mouth-feel better.

For Cass, I figure she's wearing some kind of stilts, because I have enough faith in the JL that I would hope they'd notice if Batman changed his uniform to include platform boots high enough to reach the upper atmosphere. Then again... lol!

Whenever Bruce can't do something as Batman he sends one of his kids in the cowl. Literally any of his kids. To deal with having to wear the cowl, they turn it into a game: will the justice league notice that Batman isn't the person under the mask?

Spoiler alert, they don't.

Somehow, the league never notices when it's not Bruce under the cowl, or at least that it's not the same person they all know.

Like never.

Idea: could the colloquial term for 'ghost racist' be 'ectophobic'?

Superboy Prime punched through the multiverse. This, of course, defeated the enemy he was fighting that was trying to destroy the world, but multidimensional punches dont just affect the mortal plane.

The ghost zone, the infinite realms, felt the punch like a nuclear blast. Haunts destroyed, ghosts displaced through time and space. It was chaos.

Whats worse? Danny's friend is missing.

Danny had met Robin in the GZ during one of his adventures, the two dead teen vigilantes took to each other like ducks to water. Danny helped Robin learn about being a ghost and Robin taught Danny life skills such as: throwing a punch, lockpicking, and how not to fall for obvious traps that villians set up.

Even Sam and Tucker had met Robin, although since Robin was such a new ghost he wasnt strong enough to leave the zone for long. Young ghosts (halfas aside) needed to spend the first decade or two in the zone before they were stable enough to go back to the mortal side. Danny had offered to fly to gotham with a message for batman, but robin had declined.

Batman and he had had a fight before he died, the guy probably didnt want to see or hear about the robin that failed after all.

Robin had forbidden Danny and the others from looking into Gotham.

Danny would not be in Gotham if his friend hadn't disappeared after the sonic attack that had rocked the ghost zone. He had no idea who Robin had been under the mask. Even in death, his friend had not shared his secret identity. But Danny needed to find his friend before he destabilized into ectoplasmic goop.

So now Danny has to find Batman, convince the guy that ghosts are real and that his adopted son Robin is a ghost. He manages to find the bat signal on top of the GCPD and hails the hero.

Who has a new robin with him.

It hadnt even been a year!!! Batman had replaced his friend with a younger model, this one was wearing pants instead of shorts!! What the hell!!!

Danny is so offended that if he didn't need Batman's help to save Robin, he would so punch the guy in the face. Multiple times.

Danny explains the problem to Batman and FAKE Robin all while keeping his cool.

"His ghost probably ended up near his grave. Just get me to the cemetery, if he's there, i can find him and save him before he fades forever."

Batman agrees.

Internally, Bruce is bluescreening. His mind is just thinking: Jason. Jason. Jason. Jason! Over and over again. He needed to get to his son. Right now.

Tim wasn't expecting his first mission as Robin to go like this, he had just finished his training, but nothing he had trained for prepared him for a ghost that told him that he met Jason while fighting a magic ghost dragon.

When all three get to the cemetary, they find Jason Todd's grave empty. A hole in the grass, just wide enough for a person to crawl through. The casket has a hole punched through it. Parts of the suit Jason was buried in were torn off and caught on splinters of the wood.

"I am gonna be honest. I did not know zombies were a thing." said the ghost.

With that, all hell breaks loose in Gotham.

I misinterpreted this at first, and it looked like Tim and Jason had tied Dick to a chair or something, so Jason was saying they needed to kill Dick, and Tim was agreeing. From that perspective, it gave me huge Sibling EnergyTM.
