Eclipses

Maybe just like the moon and the sun, I am unable to catch up to you.

Just like the moon, I am drenched in darkness, illuminating unfamiliar alleyways wherein I find myself the most comfortable, and love, you are the sun, in all its magnificence, bright and burning with passion that I cannot baptize myself in for we are too far apart from each other.

We are two star-crossed lovers, hoping one day, we find common ground, and I promise you that when we do, we’ll form an eclipse way up in the sky; and the whole world will marvel at the sight of us together.

But love, the reality is that eclipses only happen on rare occasions. Eventually, we’ll part ways and, soon enough, be caught up in another chase.
