How do you view the pain you’ve been through? From my experience, as long as you continue to talk like a victim, you will forever remain a victim (btw, that principle extends far beyond heartbreak). Don’t ignore the lessons that you can only learn in the storm. I think this is what a lot of us do when we get hurt, myself included: we experience pain and we seek immediate relief, we focus so hard on our healing and coping mechanisms, we look to blame something. We tell our friends, looking for sympathy, reassurance, and justification. We try to be “better versions of ourselves” in an attempt accept ourselves when we are feeling rejected, we close off and get jaded so we don’t get hurt there again. We seek revenge... Whatever the mechanism, the truth is, until you truly diagnose and understand the problem, finding a solution is irrelevant...
