Very sad to hear about the passing of L. J. Smith.

She was the author of The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, Night World, and more... books that were a big part of my teen years. When I was 16, I even won a fan art contest she ran on her website.

In her memory, I decided to redraw one of my old illustrations from that contest—Kaitlyn Fairchild, a character haunted by her ability to predict the (often tragic) future through her drawings, from the book Dark Visions. Her stories were filled with great characters, and I loved getting lost in the worlds she crafted. She’ll be sorely missed.

It's that time of year again! You may have seen this festive skeletal horse floating around on the internet over the last few years, and if you've not allow me to introduce you to the Welsh wassailing tradition of the Mari Lwyd!

Around Christmas/New year a horse skull is decorated with ribbons, baubles, bells etc. And mounted on a pole. This pole is then carried around by a performer hidden bellow by a white sheet.

The Mari Lwyd then travels door to door with a gang of fellow wassailers and engages in a pwnco. (A playfully battle of rhymes or songs) if the household wins the Mari Lwyd will leave but if the Mari Lwyd wins her crew is granted entry and allowed to raid the pantry for cheese, ale and other treats. And gets to keep the festivities going!

Drew some fan art for Mouthwashing, a haunting little game that explores the final days of a shipwrecked space freighter crew.

It felt right playing this horror game just in time for Halloween, and while all the characters were interesting in their own right, I really liked Anya. Looking like a space-y Shelley Duvall. ❤️‍🩹

It's finally starting to feel like Autumn here in the UK and you know what that means.. Cozy jumpers, pumpkin spice everything and revisiting all my fav Fall themed media. I'm talking NITW, Gravity Falls and of course Over the Garden Wall. Such a weird and wonderful little series(and genuinely unsettling at times!)

This is another one of those pieces that I'm in danger of messing with forever if I don't post it now. So here we are! SAYER itself! In the synthetic non-flesh! Well... not really because it's an incorporeal construct... but I'm so happy to draw SAYER again! As understandable as the hiatus was, that doesn't mean I didn't miss it!

Before Pride month ends I’d like to pay tribute to a legit historical BI-con. Julie d’Aubigny aka. La Maupin. A sword fighting, cross dressing, opera singing bisexual woman of the 17th century...she had a lot going on.. so here’s a quick rundown of some of her exploits:

🔸She was a phenomenal fencer who won many duels (including one against three men at once!).

🔸She was pardoned twice by the King of France narrowly escaping being executed.

🔸She rescued her lover from a convent by stealing a recently deceased nuns body and setting the whole place on fire.

🔸She became a famous Opera star at 17 and once stabbed herself with a real dagger on stage.

🔸She embarrassed a Countess she worked for by pinning Radishes the the back of her head before a Grand Ball

🔸She had many lovers both male and female and would often get into fights defending other women from lecherous men.

🔸Anddd she got sent to court for attacking her Landlord. (Icon behavior)

Her life was short but wild and I’d absolutely encourage you to look her up.

Hell yeah La Maupin, Happy Pride ❤️

Although my drawings have been depressing me lately. Nothing looks good enough and I've lost count of how many WIPs I've abandoned and restarted and abandoned again. Harry will have to do, so at least I've finished something.

Klaasje Amandou | Disco Elysium

Currently replaying Disco Elysium. Againnn.

I'm absolutely devastated that the original creators of DE have apparently been ousted from the creation of the sequel. There isn't a world I want to return to more than this one, but without the original creative team it just won't be the same.

This world feels so fleshed out and well realised. All the side characters are interesting and complex, and it feels like we've only just scratched the surface on all the stories that this universe has to offer. I hope we get to hear more from the people that made it, not just the people who financed it.
