Don't believe me? See for yourself ---> !!!
From the website:
"In The Magical Mysteries of Shazam! by writer Steve Orlando (Supergirl, Martian Manhunter) and artist Giopota, Billy Batson has had to grow up fast. Life with Tawny, a talking tiger and also Billy’s adoptive uncle, is humble. It’s not always easy! Billy lives with Tawny’s other foster children, Darla, Pedro, and Freddy. Despite all he’s been through, Billy is willfully hopeful. In addition to all the struggles a blended foster family faces, Fawcett City isn’t exactly the safest place to live. It might be a fantastic, whimsical city full of both humans and talking animals, but it’s also got a monster problem—in fact, a Monster Society! Soon Billy is granted the ability to say a magic word and transform into a mighty hero! Fawcett City cheers its new champion—and little do they know, he’s one of their own. Or do they? Because Billy’s siblings are pretty sure they saw him turn into a full-grown superhero."
____________________________________________________________
MY THEORY BRAIN IS GOING WILD!!!
The monster society! The Shazamily, but missing both Mary and Eugene weirdly. Tawney being their adoptive parent!!
Guys hold me down, I think i'm about to explode!

Freddy and Billy being separated is always weird to me because they'd lie down on a sword for each other. They genuinely love each other. Them being separated would cause more distress than anything positive.
The only way this could be done and would make sense is Freddy breaking into Wayne Manor and beating Bruce for taking Billy. Which, fair enough.
Baffled by the way so many Billy-is-adopted-by-the-batfam aus seem to be fundamentally uninterested in the fact that in most canons Billy Batson isn't actually alone in the world. Like forget the magical talking tiger who doesn't exist in every canon and the various non-superhero adults in this kid's life, where's Freddy? The lack of Mary at least has a Watsonian excuse because of the amnesia and the fact that in some canons she isn't Billy's twin sister, but Freddy? No.
And sure there's a million and one excuses for Freddy to not be present at the moment. But if a fic author doesn’t even seem to know that Billy's got a best friend named Freddy?
then I have to doubt their ability to write Billy in a way that's recognizeable to me as Billy.

Adding to my own post, because I can, I will say that I lack the concept of gender.
I do these kinds of things as thought experiments and as ways to experiment with how culture impacts the way people present themselves. I am legit just a nerd.
This all being said, I've never really viewed Billy Batson as having gender either. I've always taken him as non-binary.
A lot of people view him as transmasc, which is fun and valid, but I've always viewed non-binary as working more.
My reason? He cosplays what he thinks a man should be. Just like I spent a good chunk of my life cosplaying what I thought a girl was.
He knows what people think he should be, but because he lacks the vocabulary to explain why that doesn't apply, he just pretends instead.
He does this literally with the Captain Marvel form. He puts forward an idealized persona of what he thinks he should be, based on his father. It's not really his own presentation.
I'm bored, and it appears the only time I post stuff is at 1 AM now.
Gender bent Marvel Trio
♀Billy>
For a name, I'd simply go with Billie. Is it simple? Yes. But the alliteration is fun and the simplicity is useful. I don't want to have to find a name that matches perfectly, okay?
Billy as a girl would be very interesting, mostly because of her position in the world bring just so different. So, we'll break her down in two parts.
Mortal form: that's a homeless little girl. If Billy is unsafe as a boy, she's certainly unsafe now. Being a young girl wandering the streets would put her in more perceived danger than her male counterpart.
I'd say she'd probably be even more distrusting of others than her male version. And possibly more mean or aggressive. When you're a ten year old girl, by yourself, you learn very quickly that kindness is perceived as weakness, and that being perceived as weak is dangerous.
She'd still be naturally kind, of course. She's kind unconsciously, it's simply in her nature. But when she's thinking, she tries to come off as "strong".
Champion Form: that's a goddess warrior lady. That's basically Wonder Woman in a new suit.
She might end up with a reputation for being a kinder, sillier Wonder Woman. Just as strong, but somehow less intimidating. She's still built incredibly. Just has an aura of love and joy.
She takes her mother's face.
♂Mary>
For his name, I'd choose a name that's also incredibly common and begins with M. It's a toss up between Marcus and Max. I think "Marcus Marvel" keeps the OG energy better.
This is an upper class white man. For all I talk about my indigenous!Batsons headcanon, it isn't canon. That's an upper class white boy.
I think the mental image of this rich white boy running around with two homeless girls sounds terrifying. There is a definite power imbalance here.
For this reason alone, I think it makes more sense if Marcus is trusted slightly less in this version, at least by GB!Freddy. Especially when they all meet. Later? Inseparable. But at the start there is an air of distrust.
Obviously, he can't continue mocking people for losing to "just a little girl", like Mary does, but I think he does mock people for losing to a child more than anyone else.
It's worth noting that Mary is a very traditionally feminine character. She likes dresses and flowers and shopping. I think this would carry over to her male incarnation.
I feel like, for all his privilege compared to the other two, he's experiencing bullying in his own right from being a feminine presenting man. In the 40s, especially, this would be a recipe for disaster. He doesn't have to be queer for this to work.
♀Freddy>
Name wise, there are so many options here. However, I will go with Frida Raine Freeman. Freddy, as a diminutive of Frederick, means "peaceful ruler". Frida means "peaceful" and "Raine" means lady or queen. I think she'd only go by Frida, though.
Frida would, like Billie, be more distrusting than her male counterpart. I think it would be a reasonable response, given how vulnerable she would be.
After all, this girl would be a missed paycheck away from prostitution.
A lot of homeless girls have to turn to sex work in order to survive. That is the simple reality of the world we live in. I can imagine that a gender bent Freddy would have at least brushed against the field before getting her job selling papers.
I think she would also maintain her slightly dated fashion. She'd have incredibly long hair, something that stopped being fashionable in the twenties, and wear much longer skirts. This would keep people away from her, at least a little bit.
The skirt might also serve the purpose of hiding her leg.
Freddy, in his older comics, is actually seen flirting with girls. And I think Frida would also flirt with people in the same way. A kind of childish crush/first love vibe.
I do think that she may do it more subtly. There's a slight stigma our general culture puts on girls flirting, where the pursuit is a man's job and women that flirting are promiscuous in some way.
I do think that Frida would be the most affected by gender stereotypes. Mostly because Freddy is shown to struggle with society too. He's a disabled Jewish kid. He is repeatedly shown getting beaten by people simply for being in their vicinity. Especially with the 40s run where all his villains are Nazis except Sivana Jr. And so I think she'd conform the most, largely out of self preservation.
Just a girl trying to not die.
In her Capt. Marvel Jr form, she has a shorter skirt, and her hair is tied in two long plaits. Think, Mary but blue with plaits.

I'm an incoherent mess of a person. So I'm making this post solely to refer people to when they bother me.
So hi! I'm Kit, a non-binary Cornish person who is pagan in faith and disabled.
I mix cultural Cornish practices with hellenism a lot. I don't really mean to. It's how I was raised. I mainly work with Lady Hestia.
I am autistic, with a special interest in Shazam! It is the single most interesting franchise in the world to me.
My favourite character is Freddy Freeman. He's my baby boy.
You can bother me about head canons I've spoken about, or things related to what I've spoken about.

Imposing my own experiences onto characters? I would never.
Except I would.
Here's my childhood experiences as the Marvel Trio:
Billy> Ate rocks once. Tasted salty. Because he'd just stole them from a beach.
Mary> Highest grades in her year for a handful of subjects. Everyone goes to her for advice on them.
Freddy> Legit no clue what his parents looked like. They died when he was young, he can't remember.
Billy> left a handful of grapes as offering to a god once. They rotted. It was a mess to clean.
Mary> Bashed her brother's head into a wall while saying "I'll kill you until you are dead".
Freddy> Snorted spaghetti once. Up one nostril, out the other. Don't question it.

I'm convinced the 'God Bless us everyone' was an A Christmas Carol reference. (Tiny Tim has the same line and uses a crutch).
Freddy's grandparents on one side are canonically christian, as proven by Kit's story. However, Freddy is also canonically Jewish! So.. He can be interpreted as either, really.
Anyway, Happy Easter to all who celebrate!
Happy Easter Sunday!
I didnt draw much because I'm too busy in medschool, this has been in the folders for a while so here's my comfort character in a church (he's always the default character where I draw everywhere). Though it is very much
Incomplete...

I couldn't decide which colors to use, so it's either of them
Oh well:P
Happy Ressurection Sunday!!
And if you don't celebrate, Happy Sunday regardless!
This is inspired loosely from my small headcanon that Freddy is a Christian, though this is merely a headcanon:

1. Saying "God Bless Us Everyone" in a christmas issue
2. Cross at paren't funeral
3. Correcting a most commonly misquoted part of the New Testament about "Money being the root of all things evil" into "Love of money being the root of all things evil"

Also, something I will acknowledge.

Freddy has incredible handwriting. To the point of being hard to read. I'm scared. Those are pages in his diary! He's writing like that for no one but himself.
Also Freddy gas a canon diary, and this should be used more in fan works.

Silly question ahead:
In the Golden/Silver Age Comics, has there ever been a scenario where Freddy try to only be Captain Marvel Junior and not turn back to Freddy Freeman?
His Capt Marvel Jr form looks the same as Freddy Freeman, but he won't need his crutch anymore
+ unrelated doodle
Sorry for silly question
-end of silly question

Sometimes, when bored, I doodle.
Sometimes, that doodle is of the person I named myself after.

I love the different reactions to people learning that Billy has a twin sister in Captain Marvel Adventures #18
Billy calls it the greatest news of his life
Captain Marvel immediately decides that he’s her big brother
Captain Marvel Junior initially says that she might be his cousin
while Freddy Freeman says he’s a sort of half-brother
them all being different people with different dynamics is so interesting

The best part of this is that International Roma Day is in April.
Duke may very well have looked his Romani sibling dead in the face, on International Roma Day, and told him it's Black History Month.
And that's hilarious to me.
Dick: I just think, maybe, you're wrong.
Duke: Wow Richard, invalidating a young black man during Black History Month!
Dick, confused: Its April
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tim takes the last two cookies for him and Bernard.
Duke, who already had one but wanted one for school: Woooow Timothy, taking from a young black man during Black History Month!!
Tim: Its September!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jason accidently hits Duke a little too hard during a sparing match
Duke, who is completely fine the next second but is in that mood: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW—
Jason: Its fucking November and you're fine!!
Duke, ready to double down: WOW JASON PETER TODD, BEATING DOWN AND THEN INVALIDATING THE EXPERIANCE OF A YOUNG BLACK MAN DURING BLACK HISTORY MONTH!!
