[HSR 3.X Theory] What DOES The Remembrance want from Amphoreus?
A Cyrene and March Theory
*** Spoiler Warning: This theory contains light mentions of leaks but nothing too crazy ***
I want to take a crack at what exactly is the nature of the Remembrance’s involvement on Amphoreus and what roles Cyrene and March will play in the V.3.X story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In V.3.2 Black Swan states that since Amphoreus can only be seen through the Garden of Recollection’s mirror, Memokeepers have the right to collect the entire world for their collection. Moreover, she explains that there exists an extremist group of Emanators, who are closely aligned with Fuli, and will take a special interest in Amphoreus. Black Swan believes that if these Emanators can understand how Amphoreus became hidden from the entire galaxy, they can hide other planets behind the Garden’s mirror, destroy the planet, rebuild the world with memoria, and pocket it in their own collection. Basically an infinite memory collection glitch.
Leaks have stated that Cyrene is a level higher than an emanator, a throne emanator, part of a group of memokeepers that work directly with Fuli. It is safe to assume that the group mentioned in the leaks is the extremists that Black Swan was talking about.
My theory is that Black Swan understands part of the truth, but not the whole story. I do not believe that the remembrance Emanators are trying to figure out how to conceal Amphoreus. Considering that all signs are pointing to Cyrene being the creator of Amphoreus, and already successfully concealing Amphoreus from the galaxy, I believe that the emanators and Cyrene have already developed a method to obscure planets. Instead, Cyrene took an interest in Lygus and the Scepter because of its ability to simulate how to destroy a planet. The Remembrance may be able to convert destroyed worlds into memoria and seemingly have the power to conceal planets from the galaxy, but what they DO lack is the ability to destroy planets on a whim. That certainly falls outside of the scope of Remembrance.
Thus, enters the plan to nurture and cultivate the Remembrance’s very own Lord Ravager, Phainon. With the help of Lygus and the scepter, Phainon serves as a handcrafted destroyer of worlds who believes that he has a deep emotional bond with Cyrene due to his fabricated memories and is likely to follow her command.
The Remembrance can then convert the planets destroyed by Phainon into memoria, veil them from the galaxy behind the Garden’s mirror, and add the memoria planets to the Garden’s collection.
For the Hi3 connection, Elysia was a Herscher whose ultimate goal was to destroy humanity. However, she falls in love with mankind and sacrifices herself, betraying her creator and intended purpose. Who else is a powerful entity personally sent down to bring mass destruction in the name of a God?
Tumblr media
While running countless cycles, I believe that Cyrene will not only learn to love humanity through witnessing Phainon forging bonds repeatedly, but I also think that she will even fall in love with humanity through the simulated “natives” of Amphoreus as well. I believe that the Chrysos Heirs are based on real people that Cyrene has met in the galaxy and incorporated into Amphoreus. How can Cyrene meet people if she has been stuck on Amphoreus? The answer is March!
Tumblr media
March is Cyrene’s physical body separated from Cyrene’s memetic form that travels the cosmos, meets people that embody qualities of the 12 titans, returns the memories of those people to Cyrene, who then integrates those memories into the simulated world as Flame Chasers. I believe that is how March and Dan Heng will become Chrysos Heirs in Amphoreus. The SP versions will not literally be March and Dan Heng but instead simulated versions of them spat out from the sceptors based on the memories retrieved from Popsicle March. I also think that each time March has deposited memories on Amphoreus, she has instilled some of her love of humanity back into Cyrene. At some point, Cyrene will become convinced that she needs to ensure that Phainon does not become a lord ravager and will sacrifice herself to free Phainon and destroy the scepter. Truly a romantic story indeed.
If you have made it this far thank you so much! This is my first HSR theory so I would love to hear what you think!

Finished Epic and I need to sue for emotional damage. Like I don't think that I am ever going to stop crying. When you enter a haunting the narrative competition and you see Penelope walk in,,,, She truly is one of my favorite characters in the musical despite really only being in one song.

Knowing #that man's spirit Starfire won't be properly Black-coded in her new animated series. That being said, if I see pin straight hair on her head and not her gorgeous, voluminous, curly hair I will riot.

Are There Any Girly Pop Heroes?!?
Tumblr media
This morning I woke up to the amazing announcement that Starfire will be receiving her own animated series! Not only that but it will be featuring princess Amethyst (my fav) and a punk rock girlie named Crush that I'm excited to learn more about. I am skeptical of anything made by #that man but I'm cautiously hyped.
However, seeing this very femme coded space adventure made me wonder if there are any femme coded male DC super heroes that would fit into a space like this. I know that both DC and Marvel have gay/queer male heroes, but I honestly am looking more for heroes with outwardly queer aesthetics. Does that exist? The closest I can think of off the top of my head is Marvel's Wiccan (which some people debate if he even intended to be femme or not but that is neither here nor there).
Anyway please help me in my journey to heal my inner child that never had any heroes that made me feel seen by helping me find feminine male heroes! The pinker and more magical the better!

I need to finish listening to EPIC the musical because the longer I draw this out the longer I will have Greek mythology and any related media broadcasted across my eyelids every time I blink.
Something I have been curious about is the way Athena was a Patron for Odysseus, are their any notable people from Greek mythology tied to Aphrodite. Like was she patroning for anyone? Does she have myths where she interacts with humans on a non romantic level? I feel like I often have this idea of what Aphrodite is or what a goddess of love entails that never lines up with how she is depicted in popular media. To be fair, my conceptions of how she should act are based on no research just vibes, hopes, and projections. I want to read a breadth of stories involving Aphrodite to understand her role in mythology better. That being said I am both too tired and lazy to research this now, but watch this space for proper thoughts and findings on both EPIC and Aphrodite in Greek mythology once I stop procrastinating.

Steven Universe and Gender Expression
Earlier this week, I saw a fan art thread on twitter of various cartoon characters drawn at ages 10, 16, and 30 years old respectively. One of the characters in the line up was Steven Universe, and I couldn't help but notice that with each incarnation he was depicted as being more and more masculine. The intent of the artist was clearly to make Steven appear powerful and serious through the visual language edginess and Dragon-Ball-Z-esque power fantasies.
Seeing this fan art made me think about how it is relatively common to depict adult Steven with a much more "traditionally masculine" personal style: he normally wears much less or little to no pink, there is much less art of Steven cross-dressing as an adult, and he choses to grow out his facial hair–among other things. These are depictions that are not limited to fandom either as the show itself has often depicted adult Steven in a much more traditionally masculine light than his style during the main series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally, this has always irked me a bit. In a way, it has suggested that Steven's more feminine mannerisms, personal style, etc. is something that he grew out of. He wore pink, picked flowers, and wore dresses as a part of his youth, but ultimately it was something to "mature" past. Steven Universe Future has the episode dedicated to how Steven is a young adult now, and is no longer a 24/7 silly, goofy-goober. Unfortunately for me, it felt like Steven's more feminine presentation was lumped in with eating waffles and popcorn for breakfast or mandatory daily games of tag. To be clear, these are all personal feelings and thoughts that have been ricocheting through my mind all week. This is in no way a criticism of the show. I understand that Steven expression begins mirroring Greg's. More so, the evolution of Steven's style signifies that he no longer feels like he needs to be Rose Quartz 3.0. Shedding pink as his go to color, and taking off his mother's wardrobe serves the story well. Also, everyones personal style evolves and changes as they grow older. Also, also, I know that Steven is inspired by Rebecca Sugar's brother, and many of adult Steven's cannon designs sorta resemble their brother.
In Future, Steven sheds the pinkness and the softness to divorce his identity from the long shadow cast by his mother. Sometimes I wish that we got to see Steven reclaim the feminine parts of his expression. When I was a kid I fell in love with the character of Steven because he was just like me in so many ways. I was a girly little boy then who has grown into a feminine man(?). Again, this is not really any sort of criticism. Just me projecting myself onto fictional characters again.
Lastly, artists please draw more fan art of adult Steven in pink, in dresses, and wearing make up! I want to see what femme Steven looks like unburdened from Rose's legacy!

Ambessa's dying words to Mel in Arcane, "you are the Wolf" culminates the relationship between Mel and her mother perfectly. The dynamic between Ambessa and Mel is the classic tale of a narcissistic mother and her daughter.
For Ambessa, one must live as the Wolf or perish–including her own daughter. Thus, when Mel outwits her mother showing the power in being the Fox, Ambessa has her world view challenged. In her dying moments Ambessa is earnestly overcome with pride in her daughter for besting both her and the Blackrose. Ambessa finds relief in the revelation that her daughter has become capable enough to survive the ruthless world around her, and lead the Medarda family. Simultaneously, Ambessa is unable to reconcile with the fact that Mel is capable and powerful in a way that differs from her own methodology.
So, instead of fully seeing Mel for who she is (the fox, the wolf, and most importantly a compassionate soul) Ambessa for one final time projects her ideology onto Mel. In Ambessa's eyes if Mel is finally ready to take on the world on her own, then it must mean that she has finally become the wolf. To Ambessa there is no other way. Thus, Ambessa died as she lived: never seeing her daughter for the person that she truly is.
