No longer broken, I'm learning to mend,

Sixteen feels like a whisper,
A memory slipping further away.
Somehow, I’ve outgrown the girl who once believed
That life could be simple.
Now I’m left with these coffee stains on my heart,
Wishing they’d fade.
But they don’t.

Scrolling through Instagram,
I’m trapped in a loop,
Getting older but still chasing the wisdom
That never seems to come.
Lonely but pretending I’m happy,
Because that’s what people do.

They ask me about my future,
And all I can do is smile,
As if I’m not still figuring out who I am.
A people-pleaser to the core,
Relating too much to every song that makes me feel something real.

God knows I’m trying to keep it together,
But some days, even I don’t believe it.
Maybe one day I’ll find peace,
Or maybe I’ll just learn to love the mess.

Be strong, my soul, in God's pure way,

Reflections in a Shattered Mirror

In a crowded room, would I choose me?

A question once asked, and I said, "No, you see,

I couldn't pick myself out too,

A reflection I couldn't pursue."

Mirror, mirror on the wall,

Who's the truest of them all?

"You," it said, "a pleaser of the crowd,

A heart in whispers, never loud."

My carriage of gold, now turned to rust,

A gleam of hope, now lost in dust.

The mirror I trusted, now shattered, spread,

A million pieces where I once tread.

They say emotions are not to be read,
