“It’s Fine.”
This prompt inspired me a bit! So here’s an introduction to my OC through the prompt. First though, some basic info!
Name: Aegistriker
Outlier: Plasma Shield
Frame-Type: Seeker
Faction: Deceptacon Neutral Autobot
The way it started out was simple. A-2YU was his designation, or something like that. He was a cold construct, and he expected to have two units to fly into combat with. The first time he felt surprise was when he found out there were three others. Three sparks that wove into his own. Siblings. A trine. They were one, they were whole. All of them were special, too. Told from the very beginning that they were destined for greatness
Some say their immediate deployment into the line of battle was brutal. Some even claimed it cruel. Everything surrounding cold constructs, surrounding seekers, was controversial. Even more when it came to their outliers. Despite that, they still had each other. They'd be fine. They were mostly bodyguards anyways. Intimidating bodies to surround a bigger being. Someone more important than them. Less controversial.
He never liked battle, and he sensed his siblings had a similar distaste. That's why they were one of the only trines that actively sought out guard duty. Some whined about their potential, but they didn't care. They just wanted the fighting to end. Even when the expeditions ceased, even when energon was low, they had it in them to smile. So did Auryu.
They didn't want to be deceptacons, but the world seemed to be pushing them in that direction.
The worst day of his life was marked by that need. The day they were going to slip away and join the cause. The day the Lightmakers died. The day a trine left behind the ghost of their brother, nothing more than his memories of them to even prove they existed.
It was the worst day of his life, yet he'd gotten up. He'd clawed his way out. He'd survived because they decided he was the best of them. It wasn't fair. It would sting his broken spark for the rest of his life.
"It's okay." He'd lie one day, sitting in a chair that feigned welcoming in front of a mech who mocked comfort. "I barely even remember them."
After that, he'd fled. He'd done what his trine would've wanted, which was to follow his own plan. They wouldn't want his choices to change because of them. He couldn't safely run to the Deceptacons yet anyways, so he'd bide his time.
Turns out, others had the same idea as him. A shuttle and two ground frames, specifically. All of them would flee Cybertron together, lose themselves in space in search of their precious life fuel. It wasn't long until they'd found it, refining as much as they could before being caught in a strike down between Autobot and Deceptacons. The planet was practically bombarded with bombs and gunfire. The only reason they'd survived was because of his shield.
That was when he became Aegistriker. He earned his title, his new name and self. Primus, he wished his family was there to see it. To watch him travel with his new friends.
Even that couldn't have lasted.
"It's fine." He'd say someday. "We weren't that close anyways." The mech sitting across from him would frown, concerned. He'd take it as apathy, and grow frustrated.
That wasn't the end of his struggles. As it turns out, war has a way of twisting one's will again and again. Especially when it comes to the Deceptacons. He wasn't particularly lethal or even interesting beside his initial intake. Meeting Starscream was... interesting. The fragger had practically made up a whole story about him before he'd even come to in the medbay. His outlier was soon discovered and it was expected that he'd attempt to fly up the ranks.
Their expectations were as shallow as his loyalty. Without his trine, his lifeline... there was truly no point. It would take him a thousand cycles to come to that realization. The truth. He'd only planned on joining them because of his siblings in the first place, and only followed through out of self preservation when that motive left him. He truly was nothing without them.
Fitting, seeing as he was the only one in the universe who even knew their names.
"It's okay. I'll live." He'd say someday, because what is left if he doesn't hurl forward? If he doesn't protect himself, doesn't live to see the other side... what was even the point of all this?
That's why he took his first chance to run. To escape the Deceptacons. Hiding on Earth was easy once they found him in that junkyard. He'd become a little celebrity soon after, having to do nothing but sit and wait. The humans had taught him a lot during that time period. He'd learned to like them, hard not to when all they talk about was how mysterious he was. They called him art. He was art to them, without so much as moving a muscle.
He had a favorite, a man who'd annoyed the crap out of him, initially. He'd become a janitor as what he called a temp job. So Aegis was fine with putting up with his nonsense. He'd babble to whoever would listen, going on and on about aliens and the government and how everything was against the people. He took so many pictures of Aegis, and was often at the museum late into the night just to clean and mumble to himself.
He wasn't sure when he'd decided to reveal himself to the human. Or why. But he surely remembered how his new friend reacted. They were so funny, so expressive in ways Aegis' own kind can't replicate. He tried to mimic those reactions, the teeny tiny differences in facial expressions that indicated entirely different emotions. His friend had laughed.
When Sector 7 found him, he expected nothing. Like every conspiracy theorist and odd stare-r, he expected they wouldn't find what they wanted. That was... not the case. They'd had a device of some sort, and his shield was active. The poor son of a gun who tried to attach it practically flew when it made contact. Still… Sector 7 promised him safety, fuel, help. He wasn't exactly in a position to disagree.
All that went out the window when Optimus motherfucking Prime showed up. He still thinks that running was his best option given the resources he had… but his ragged state got the best of him.
When he crashed, he expected it to be over. He gave in to the ache in his spark and waited for his family to come find him. To bring him to the all spark so they could be whole again. For the first time in a millenia, he prodded at his agonizingly empty bond. Like every other time, he felt nothing. Perhaps it was all for nothing.
"It's fine." He'd say, "I survived, didn't I?"
Someone was in danger. His friend. And suddenly, Aegis found the strength to stand. The instincts of battle were coming to him again. He wouldn’t let the fragging Autobots hurt the only person who’d given a damn about him. In the end, it wasn’t enough. He collapsed before he could even fight, before he could even defend himself.
It was all for nothing.
Then he was moved. He was... being held? A deep, heavy voice moved others into action around him as flashes of red and blue crossed his failing optics. He remembered feeling pain in his wings, sand and energon caking his frame and grinding against seams. He remembered making the most pathetic noises, mumbling for his sister to come save him. Even a millenia later and his processor couldn't fathom the reality that he was alone in the universe.
But he could understand what was happening, if vaguely. For the first time in his existence, he wasn't just being “helped” or given a quick repair. He wasn't fighting for survival.
For the first time, someone else was fighting for Aegistriker's life.
Why? Why help this dying, pathetic excuse of a seeker when medical resources are so scarce? Why save him?
He was so scared. Seekers aren’t supposed to be scared. They’re supposed to be prideful, powerful and demanding. He wasn’t that, he wasn’t half of that.
“First Aid reported that you seemed scared when you woke up. Do you want to talk about that?” The mech he’d dreaded speaking with would ask him sometime after, a neutral look in his optic.
“What is there to elaborate on? I woke up alone in an Autobot base.” He’d shrug at the question. “I was right to be scared.”
“I’m sorry you had to deal with that.”
“It’s fine.”
Then there was the time he got jumped.
“It’s fine.”
And the fight with Acidstorm.
“It’s fine.”
All the write ups he got from Prowl.
“It’s fine.”
Not to mention the mind control.
“It’s fine.”
Getting threatened by Ultra Magnus.
“It’s fine.”
The time he nearly killed Hot Rod…
“It’s fine.”
The holograms of his trinemates.
“It’s… fine.”
“You hesitated.”
“…”

Transformers prime decepticons as birds (ignore that two of them can’t canonically fly ok)
Tumblr media
Soundwave - barn owl (only one where the original bird colors are completely changed. The barn owl has a distinct disc like face, black glassy eyes, and has great hearing, which i thought fit him very well, so that should make up for the color inconsistency)
Megatron - bearded vulture (the bird’s already piercing red eyes matches Meg well, along with the black/greyish feathers framing the face similarly to his helm)
Starscream - peregrine falcon (one of the fastest birds in the world. It has a distinct brow bone and the black/white face matches his helm somewhat)
Knockout - northern cardinal (a bright red bird with a spiked crown and black eyes)
Breakdown - blue indian ringneck (a blue bird with yellow touches, along with a red/orange beak like BD’s face)
Skyquake - great green macaw (a large green bird with red touches and a strong beak meant for crushing, blue wing feathers changed to match the glass of his cockpit)
Dreadwing - hyacinth macaw (a color variant of his twin: blue and yellow/gold)
Airachnid - rook (first considered making her a raven, but the rook’s already white beak matched her face better, plus iridescent/purplish neck feathers)
Shockwave - victoria crowned pidgeon (a purplish chest and a distinctive red eye matches him fairly well, plus his many antennae and wings sticking out of his silhouette kinda fits the feathered crown)

If you can make small observations, observe little everyday actions and thoughts and things, you begin to notice details you wouldn’t have added to your writing before. It also makes it easier to create meaningless thoughts for a character to narrate for filler, world building, or character development.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be something important to their personality or even interesting. Not every thought a human thinks is profound. And it doesn’t have to be.
This exercise is also soothing, as often ADHD provides an endless stream of thoughts that one feels the compulsion to share. It can be stressful to keep it all in, but anxiety tells me to not bother anyone with my meaningless rambles. Luckily, we have writing.
Thought doesn’t always have purpose, but we still find our heads bursting with them. Writing is their escape.
Writing Exercise Idea!
Make a list of observations over a mindless or everyday task that you have to do. For my example below, it was cleaning out my car at the car wash!
Look at reblog for my notes on how this exercise helps with writing and anxiety (for me at least).
Things I noticed while cleaning out my car for the first time in 3 years.
Cup holder covers are not resistant to sticky liquids
For some reason, I have two sets of jumper cables
I need to stop leaving pencils in my car
Need to stop taking out my earrings in my car
The eye contact you make with the person at the spot beside you when one of you needs that side is worse than elevator eye contact
I have a lot more trunk space than I remember
The air compressor thing is super helpful for getting leaves out of places the vacuum can’t reach
The rags aren’t always the best, glad I brought extra supplies
There are a concerning amount of items that don’t belong to me in here
Their trash cans don’t have bags in them???
Sometimes you have to clarify that you don’t want any of the old car parts when they’re being replaced (I found an air filter, the stereo that came with the car, and a gas cap in my trunk)
WHERE DID ALL THESE LEAVES COME FROM?
This shouldn’t take as long as it is
Just because the guy with the car next to yours is in a suit and has a nice car doesn’t mean he’s better than you. You both drive a Chevy, after all.
The scratches on my hood look like fiberglass shards! They do not taste like fiberglass shards.
Your car is 16 years old. It’s okay if it has some scratches.
Just power wash the damn rims and mats. It isn’t worth it.
Gonna do that for the weird storage thing in the trunk too
OH MY FUCKING GOD THERES A THIRD SET OF JUMPER CABLES????
There’s actually a cool little compartment in the trunk for my emergency shit to go in :D
I also found a parking ticket from HIGH SCHOOL
Aww my soda got watery :(

Could you do some doodles of Rumble and Frenzy? Little ankle biters man, I’d say they’re even more feral than Starscream.
