People on telegram asked for something colorful, while I needed something simple for small sketchbook, so now we have this art with Carmen and Elena ( @moonyscribe )

For unexplainable reasons I associate Carmen with magenta or pulm purple and Elena with warm yellow or amber, at least for summer (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

Also, now I need fanfiction about them all going together on summer vacation (probably need a vacation myself, but fanfic will satisfy)

Meet Cynthia, my adoptive daughter of wolfstar oc.

Species: Human + werewolf

Appearance: Light skin, gray-hazel eyes, long dark brown hair with fringe, beauty mark on the right side of chin and two below left eye, thin, tall, scars

Personality: Loyal, hard-working, kind, trustworthy, modest, appreciative, quiet, mom friend

So backstory, at 2-3 years old her parents were murdered by death eaters. Lived in group homes till the age of 8 when she was bitten by a werewolf and became one. Wolfstar finds this through the news (or newspaper) and immediately puts 2 and 2 together and goes to adopt her. (I love the idea that they adopt kids with lycanthropy) Personality wise she is very similar to Remus. Both have a love for books and tend to be on the quieter side, they're both also the mom friends. Cynthia also has a love for herbology and astronomy. She has a bad RBF and honestly looks scary/moody if you don't know her, but dw she's very sweet in reality. A big part of her character is that despite a lot of the stuff she went through (losing her parents, foster care, and getting lycanthropy) she's still kind. She believes that good things can still happen as long as you work for them and don't give up. She's surprisingly idealistic but she's still down to earth and realistic. (Think Kintsugi, it's similar to that philosophy)

I do have some other lore on her that honeycaksy inspired because I love exploring what the wizarding world may be like outside the UK. Unfortunately I'm not gonna post it yet bc I need to do some more research for it. All I'm gonna say is Cynthia is wasian. (Also moonyscibe I didn't realize how similar our characters were till I read through yours so mb, but hey they're sisters so it's fine.)

i really am so unpicky about pjo ships especially with the main characters to the point where they could all be a poly couple and i wouldnt even care. valgrace? valid. pipabeth? valid. jercy? valid. valzhang? valid. percabeth? valid. frazel? valid. jiper? valid. canon or fanon, the list could go on.

hey. what if hera didn't hate annabeth? what if she didn't really ever hate percy, either; just couldn't trust him. just some thoughts. what if it went a little more like this:

Annabeth is strong and capable, and she aches to prove herself and take her life into her own hands. She's bold and carefree and yes, a little childish at times. Annabeth will hold a grudge, and she has the tendency to feel jealous. Hera looks at Annabeth, grinning after a spar, laughing carelessly, sitting in her bunk and wishing she didn't miss her family so much... and Hera sees herself. Little Annabeth is a spitting image of Athena, and Hera can recognize that Athena is all the good and all the bad of Zeus, born from him only. Athena is just like her husband; the pride and the vanity, but so is Hera. It's been an eternity and Hera knows Zeus rubs off on her with every passing century. Hera is selfish and prideful and jealous, and so is little Annabeth. But where Hera hardly finds her good traits any longer, Annabeth is strong and good and ambitious. Those are things Hera can only remember feeling. So.. maybe Hera feels a touch of affection for the young demigod. Maybe she can't help it.

Things change when Perseus comes along. Hera's always been careful of that Luke kid; he was always sweet, but it felt like there was an edge. Perseus, on the other hand, is a steady mix of kind and good and loyal; there is no edge to how he feels for others, just some abyss in his heart where the end of his loyalties should lie. Admittedly, that makes Hera even more cautious. It's just... "Perseus" comes from her husband; the name, at the least. Hera would never wish her marriage on anyone, and especially not the little girl she sees so much of herself in.

And then Perseus starts getting quests. One after the other, near constant, and he brings Annabeth along with him. Hera knows how the hearts of mortals can twist in affection. They spend enough time together, and a bond is bound to form. It doesn't help that Annabeth watches Perseus trick their foes with pride. Secretly, Hera thinks that sons of Poseidon shouldn't be so quick to plan. It is not the bond Annabeth forms with Perseus that is Hera's primary worry; it's what those quests are shaping Perseus to be. Heroes turn out arrogant and prideful or monstrous, and to be fully truthful Hera would rather Annabeth have a quiet spouse. One to compliment her ambition.

When Hera thinks of Annabeth as adjacent to herself, it's only reasonable that Perseus becomes Zeus-like in her mind. The entirety of the half-bloods follow him, and his orders. Perseus is set to fight the titan Kronos, just as Zeus did. Hera worries that he will begin to think as Zeus does. Perseus fights the titan lord and wins, and comes out alive, and he and Hera's little Annabeth share a kiss and...

Maybe she's been too harsh on the boy. Those endless loyalties of his are still there, even after besting the Titan King. Hera only needs to be sure; she can't let Perseus have Annabeth if she isn't sure he won't be like Zeus.

Well. Hera did say she wouldn't wish her marriage on anyone. It's not that it was always bad. Zeus didn't sleep around until all that pride got to his head, and then he decided he could have everyone he wanted, that he deserved it. That's when he became dangerous.

So Hera sends Perseus away. Wipes his memories. It's not like she takes away his feelings, or his pre-recognitions. It's only for a short period of time, anyway, and if Perseus messes up with all that pride swirling around in his head, perhaps Annabeth will understand. If Perseus is like Zeus, the relationship will end without any more interference. Perseus will show both Hera and Annabeth who he truly is, and then....

But the boy remembers Annabeth. Hera left him his feelings, his pride over his victories and his emotions- and a tie to Annabeth as well. Perseus pushes the Roman girl away from him, tells her he knows he's in love with--that he knows he will always love--his girl Annabeth, even if he can't remember his own last name.

Perseus gets his memories back the next time Hera can feasibly let them out of her grasp, because she can't justify holding them any longer. Annabeth is given a token by her mother, a suicide quest, and Hera boils in rage. It is one thing to ignore Athena's coldness towards her children. Ignoring this "quest" is something else

Perseus falls into the abyss of Tartarus for Annabeth, and Hera learns why Perseus's loyalties stretched into a bottomless pit where Luke's had come to a cliffside.

Hera will tell the other Olympians that she orchestrated the switch to unite the children. She doesn't mention her fondness for Athena's daughter, or her husband's child Jason who had been fighting for too long. Artemis will come to Hera after her speech and sigh and raise an eyebrow. Artemis knows; it was Hera that brought her attention to Annabeth, after all. Artemis asks if Hera will try and "save" little Annabeth again. Hera thinks that maybe Annabeth is no longer so little, and maybe she isn't the only one with the girl's best interests at heart. Maybe, she can depend on that "Percy" to protect her girl's heart.

Hera would never wish her marriage on anyone.

But this bond she can bless.

Unpopular opinion but I think the way the seven drifted apart after their summer on the Argo II is actually very realistic. They all considered themselves family but when the looming threat of the end of the world wasn’t over them they didn’t have much in common because if the quest had never happened most of them wouldn’t know each other. If you’ve ever been to sleep away summer camp or a mission trip it’s exactly like that where you’re the closest people in the world but you’re actually like a beaded bracelet and once the string tying all of you together is cut you all go your separate ways.

one pattern i am starting to notice when it comes to anti-percabeth and specifically anti-annabeth stuff is that a lot of the scenes that are getting used and labeled as abusive e.g. the infamous judo flip or the one where annabeths mentions rachel in a conversation to “keep him on his toes” are just like normal things that you might find in a friendship ESPECIALLY when it’s between people who are very close but put in the context of a relationship they might come across as questionable to people

because if you put the judo flip in a context of “oh they’re friends who have been fighting/training with each other for years” that shifts the narrative of how that scene comes across in a whole different level

the scene of annabeth keeping percy on his toes is the same. you put it in a context of friendship as in “oh we have been friends for so long ha ha remember when this happened” and it comes across way differently

and i have already talked about this but percabeth as a hole has spent a lot more time being friends than being in a relationship and that immensely affects how they act around and with each other

also wanna add (and this is not an accusation and more so a phenomenon i have been seeing happening a lot) that if annabeth was a guy i think these scenes wouldn’t even be questioned because just think about it the hole play fighting, smacking each other around, “keeping each other on the toes” and etc. in what friendship do you find these aspects in a lot of different media ? between two guys

just my piece of thought about this, i would be very interested in what other people think

My take about percabeth is that yes it is "girl with abandonment issues"/"boy with loyalty as a fatal flaw" but I also think it's "boy that has never thought of anything for himself"/"girl who is ready with a powerpoint presentation of their future together"

Like, percy does not have any ambition. One of the first things he says about himself in tlt is that his life is "short and miserable". He has very low self steem and view of himself, and even though he has his mom, and friends, is not until he falls in love with annabeth that he gets an idea of what a future for himself would look like. The only times he imagines it is when thinking of annabeth. When rejecting inmortality, when in new rome and in the lete, when annabeth asks him what he wants to study. In tartarus, imagining marrying her and having children.

It might sound far fetched, but for most of the books he seems to be living his life as if just trying to survive day to day. He doesn't mind dying for the prophecy very much. Is only her voice that brings him out of the styx. Is only her that makes him want to look beyond what he is and makes him think of what he could be.

Trying to figure out a timeline for your fic when the author of the series your fic is based on barely even knows their own timeline is hell

with camp jupiter being more "militaristic" than camp half-blood, i've decided to run with it. i think everyone in the legion gets their army nickname and is called exclusively by that. if you don't know what i mean, it's common that soldiers in the army get a nickname based on an embarrassing incident/trait they have. to be clear, it's never not embarrassing. even if it seems heroic, it's not.

here's my two cents on what i think their nicknames would be:

jason – "staples". no further comment. sometimes they'd also call him "barcode" (coz of his tattoo)

reyna – "blackbeard"? (fired from a canon badly during her first wargames) (nobody's aware of the significance to her past actually lmao)

octavian – i think octavian actually IS his nickname. he's the eighth child in his family and he's a little weasel suckup, so he got (nick)named like that to be reminded of it

dakota – "kool-aid man"? "bloodshot"? (the red stain all over kinda looking like blood)

hazel – "pony girl" or "sparkles" (as in someone attempted to reference my little pony, but couldn't remember the names) coz you know. she likes horses. she probably talks to them more than the legionnaires the first few months in cj. also she'd sometimes get called "drop dead beauty" because of the fainting

frank – "carebear". you know why

mike kahale – "loverdove". the venus tattoo is a dove, and everybody loves to make fun of the jacked venusian football player (until he threatens them lol)

lavinia – "superglue", sometimes "sticky". got surprised during training and her gum fell out of her mouth, getting all over her and she couldn't properly even grab her manubalista because her hands were so sticky.
