My Children's Last Hope: From Designer to Begging for Their Lives

I'm Tareq. More than a year and a half ago, I created beautiful designs. Today I design survival plans for my 3 children - my wife Samar, and our children: Sham (7), Masa (4), and baby Wateen (1.5), who was born under bombardment. We had a home, dreams, and routines. Sham loved kindergarten and should be in 2nd grade now. Masa should be starting her education. Instead, they're surviving day-to-day in unimaginable conditions.

The War Stole Everything

❌ Our home was completely destroyed in Nov 2023

❌ 11 forced displacements between bombed-out buildings and makeshift tents

❌ Living in a rotting tent that can’t block summer heat or winter cold

❌ No electricity since the war began (Oct 2023)

❌ Constant hunger: Our children suffer from malnutrition

❌ Bathing in contaminated water causing painful skin diseases on all children

❌ Masa (4) cries holding her empty stomach - her malnutrition makes even water painful to digest

❌ Baby Wateen has never known life without bombs

❌ Most essential necessities are unavailable - bread flour, clean water, milk, cheese, fruits and vegetables, baby diapers, and more

In this haunting photo, rescue workers are seen pulling a lifeless child from beneath the rubble—one of Gaza's many innocent victims. This is not just an image of tragedy; it is a reflection of the fear that grips my heart every single day. My own son is still alive, but he is wounded and in pain—fighting to survive without the medical care he urgently needs.

I look at this child, covered in dust, broken by war, and I imagine my son in his place. I imagine the moment when help might come too late. This is the nightmare I live with—constantly fearing that my child will become just another number, just another name whispered in sorrow.

My son needs urgent treatment abroad. Every moment we wait, his condition worsens. I am a mother trying to save her child, but I cannot do it alone. Please, I beg you—help me get him the care he needs before it’s too late.

We have been through many wars before, but this war was not like the ones before it. Our lives were turned upside down. We became displaced from one place to another. We are the Anas family, residents of northern Gaza, specifically in the Shujaiya area. In the first week of the war, we fled our home because everyone considered our home to be in a dangerous area. We moved to the Rimal area, specifically in the middle of Gaza. There, we received the news that our home, which contained all our beautiful memories, was bombed. Suddenly, it was gone!!! Just thinking that your home, which you worked hard on and built from scratch and took a lot of your life, was gone in less than a second ! After a while, we left the sands to the Al-Zawaida area because of the heavy shelling. We stayed there for about two weeks, and then the terrorist army asked us to go to Rafah. We actually fled for the fourth time to Rafah and stayed there for two months, some of the most difficult days of our lives, as there was no way or means to live a normal life. 😔😔 After that, because of the invasion of Rafah, we moved to Deir al-Balah. Now, we are in very difficult and oppressive circumstances.

We are asking you with all shame to support and stand by us in these difficult circumstances that everyone knows because we lost our home, our work and any stable source of income. Thank you all.

Now we have been away from our city and our beautiful home for 9 months. We have lost our house that my father built stone by stone and he worked 24/7 to build this house. But the occupation destroyed it, and no house remained in my beautiful city remained intact.😭💔💔
