non-privileged academia:
- learning how to read and write on your own
- cherishing school even though it’s not up to international standards
- getting information from the internet whenever you have a chance
- dreaming of going to university even though the chances are one in thousands
- dreaming of supporting your family
- someone gifts you school books and you cry because you will have the tools to learn this year
- long surpassing your teacher but still going because you love the atmosphere and try to help the others
- wanting to visit a proper library so badly that it keeps you up at night
This is the reality for people around the world and a reminder to stop being elitist and glorifying private school and everything dark academia that books like The Secret History actually warn us about. If you’re lucky enough to be in an environment that let’s you learn and provides you with everything to reach your absolute potential, please do cherish it.

Do y’all know where the phrase “eat the rich” comes from or do you just repeat it cause you heard it elsewhere?
It’s not a bad thing, I just saw someone say “we never said who would eat the rich” and realized a lot of y’all might not have heard the full quote
