she stopped to let me talk. it was then i realised i had nothing to say.

cue five seconds of awkward staring.

it was then that i realise that this was not, in fact, a fancy restaurant. it was a place with maybe three tables and a counter. i probably could've just grabbed a menu and sat down.

oops.

she didn't look like she heard me clearly. so i repeat myself. 'uh- two. people. to sit.'

she stares. 'just... to sit??'

i splutter pathetically. 'no......'

cue half a minute of stuttering on my end. 'uh. i'm ordering.'

'okay.'

SO, having given up on words entirely, i kind of just gesture vaguely to a table and then she nods, looking completely baffled.

i proceed to spend the next thirty minutes trying to burn a hole in the menu with the sheer power of my eyes.

...socialising? 0/10 would not recommend
