Kickstarter connects creators with audiences who want to support them. For the queer community, it can sometimes be difficult to locate the projects that are made by queer people or feature queer characters. I post the projects I find, so it can be easier for you to support them too. I most interested on comics for myself, but I do keyword searches for different identities to locate other projects. Identities I'm regularly searching are: queer, transgender, asexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, intersex, and indigenous genders/sexualities.

Here is a two page preview of the comic I made as part of the For The Love Of Monsters anthology currently fundraising on Kickstarter! It’s a monster romance anthology, which is one of my most favourite genres, and I’m so excited I got to be a part of this book!
My comic is called “(Don’t) Let Them Consume You” and is a short surreal story about love and longing and the desire to remain constant and consistent in the face of change. Also… it’s about a big maw and lots of teeth because, look: it’s 2018 and (Marge Simpson voice) I just think they’re neat.
For The Love Of Monsters is currently funding on Kickstarter and the campaign is entering its last week, which means time is running out to back this great book full of romance, monsters, and more! Check out the project to learn more of the lineup and the anthology right here! >> https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/30379842/monstrously-queer-comic-anthologies

The story
Eve's New Brother deals with the familiar-to-many story of a child meeting their new sibling. This story explores the emotions of Eve as she tries to accept this new small person and the difficulties she faces. The story is nestled among the tangible closeness Eve shares with her mothers. Her parents listen to her fears and encourage her to work around them, be patient and find a way to accept Stanley.
Eve's parents are two women. The whole idea behind us setting up Parakeet Books was to create inclusive books featuring diverse characters with all genders, ethnicities, and abilities represented. That includes different kinds of families too. The stories are not about the fact that the characters are 'unique' in any way, but are standard kids adventures that just so happen to feature diverse families. It's a proven fact that same sex parented families create a wonderful nurturing environment for children so we thought they should be better represented in the world of children's books.

HEARTWOOD: Non-binary Tales of Sylvan Fantasy
HEARTWOOD: Non-binary Tales of Sylvan Fantasy is the first ever non-binary comics anthology, made entirely by cartoonists who identify as a non-binary gender! The book is 250+ pages long, B&W interior, and features 21 young-adult stories.

Across time and cultures, humanity has spun tales about the forest: tales of caution, adventure, rites of passage, and discovery. Some of those stories persist as the folklore and fairy tales that delight our imaginations today, and the forest remains a symbol for facing the unknown and emerging transformed.
This anthology is for everyone who’s walked through the undergrowth, in the silence of nature, and longed for an adventure of their own to unfold. These stories of modern-day sylvan fantasy showcase some of the best non-binary cartoonists of our day, guiding characters like us into the woods and back again.
Back us today to make the magic happen!

Welcome to the Heartstopper: Volume One Kickstarter!
Heartstopper is a YA LGBT+ webcomic about Nick and Charlie, two British teens at an all-boys grammar school. It's written and illustrated by me, Alice Oseman, author of YA novels Solitaire, Radio Silence, and I Was Born for This!
Charlie, a highly-strung, openly gay over-thinker, and Nick, a cheerful, soft-hearted rugby player, meet at a British all-boys grammar school. Friendship blooms quickly, but could there be something more…?
Heartstopper has been updating thrice-monthly on Tumblr and Tapas since September 2016, and is currently still ongoing. It has amassed over 50,000 subscribers, so I reckon it’s high time I make this thing into a real book!

Skate and Date is a rhythm game/dating sim that became a reality due to my love for rhythm games, rollerskating and the 70s! It follows the life of Maggie Price, an athletic, optimistic junior in high school as she develops a crush on Patricia Romano, an outcast at Diamond Park High. Both girls are a part of roller derby teams, but since they’re on different teams it heavily affects their relationship throughout the game.

Gender is an elusive subject. Gender is deeply personal and subjective. It depends on who's asking, who's looking and who is living it. But it is also objective, rooted in history and a harsh, confining, reality for some. This anthology – a collection of short stories, essays, poems and comics – explores the subject without forcing certainty and definition upon it's reader in a quarrelsome, uncompromising way. We think it offers something for everyone through a wide range of perspectives on the nature of gender, how we define it and ultimately how we identify ourselves.
Uniting ideas about gender across such a pantheon of opinions and experiences has been not only challenging but deeply informative. We have delighted in getting to know our contributors better and working with them to shape their stories into an anthology that explores our past perceptions and experiences, how things may be perceived in the present, and how they may evolve into the future. As a fledgeling publisher, we have a great deal to learn and are deeply grateful to all our contributors who have helped and guided us towards what we hope you will agree is a bold and relevant collection.
Featuring: femmes fatales, brazen boyishness, fierce feminism, mythos & eros, intersectional discourse, non-binary experiences, modern masculinities, speculative futures, supernatural beings, perspectives on 'passing' and everything in-between...
Our line-up of 22 fantastic humans for Volume 1:

Love & Bubbles is a collection of short stories of underwater romance. The characters range from classics like mermaids and selkies, to creative interpretations on the theme that take you to the Amazon river basin, alien water planets, and an ice-crusted lake.
We put out a call for love stories of all gender pairings and styles, and were surprised to discover the bulk of our submissions featured lesbian couples. Of the eleven base stories featured, eight feature relationships between queer women. We considered going ahead and focusing this anthology solely on queer women, but... I think you'll agree the three stories featuring queer men and straight couples are well worth the uneven distribution of pairings!
Creators:
Adam & Galeta by Ellen Denton
Color and Pressure by Evvan Burke
Kiss the Girl by Sarah Hollowell
Familiar Waters by V. S. Holmes
The Wheel-Bearers by Alyn Spector
A Happy Place by Maggie Derrick
The Selkie Wife by Lia Cooper
Dwindling Forest of Kelp by Victoria Zelvin
Summoned by Minerva Cerridwen
Thawed by Sonni de Soto
Worlds Between Us by Riley Sidell
In addition, we have six mystery stories that will be announced as we get closer to our stretch goals!

Habibi is a new zine-style anthology featuring prose stories and comics weaving together stories of love told by Muslim women. Each piece is a unique perspective on what love can mean to someone, whether it's romantic, familial, or even love of self.
Very rarely are Muslim women part of the narrative on love in any of its forms and now we're speaking for ourselves.
Habibi is available as a softcover and PDF printed in black and white that includes stories from fifteen writers and artists spanning the globe. The printed version is a 6x9 paperback featuring an amazing new cover commissioned by artist Anoosha Syed!
Habibi is edited by Hadeel al-Massari (organizer, GeekGirlCon) and Nyala Ali (journalist, Women Write About Comics), and published by Bedside Press (The Secret Loves of Geek Girls).
It was important to tell a wide range of stories about something so personal as love. Our contributors are truly diverse and include women-identifying and femme Muslim women of different races, levels of practices, sexualities, and country. Here are our contributors:
Autumn Crossman • Priya Huq • Sofee • Nusaiba Chowdhury • Naziyya • Candice Montgomery • Karuna Riazi • Zainab Bint Younus • Heraa Hashmi • Tanzila Anis • Iqra Mehdi • Ivy West & Sahktah Khatun • Loujain Alzhrani • Reem Madooh

For a long time, we have been enthusiastic lovers of myth and legend, so when we first decided we wanted of creating an anthology, mythology sounded like the perfect topic to focus on. We both lamented the fact that in our Western world, mythology has so often been told from a Eurocentric, masculine perspective. That's why our vision was to bring more diverse voices and stories to light. As a result, WANDERLUST celebrates queerness and ethnic diversity.
WANDERLUST was created for the lover of mythology who wishes to broaden their horizons and delve into unique stories that differ from common Greco-Roman myths that are often shown in popular Western media.
WANDERLUST, A Mythology Anthology, edited by Mariah Jarvis and Zoe Au, is a book of reimagined mythology, legends and folklore that celebrates stories from all over the world. Our 40 artists and writers have come together to bring this collaborative work to life, many of them sharing from their own cultures and experiences. We are extremely proud to showcase the diversity in our talented creators and the stories they tell.
WANDERLUST is filled with all-new comics, illustrations and short stories for every lover of mythology. Inside the book, you will find 40 original works based on myths from 24 different countries and cultures. Each work puts a unique spin a different myth. Creators were given creative freedom to reinterpret any mythological story, and were encouraged to be as inventive as possible.
In their works, our creators answer questions such as: What happens when a mythological being falls in love with a human? What if such magical beings walked among us in our modern world? Would ancient gods and goddesses use cellphones or ride motorcycles? Would they play Dungeons and Dragons? Our creators answer these questions with unique tales of meandering adventures, aimless wanderers, journeys to self discovery, and more.
The book will be 8" x 11" (22 cm x 28 cm), perfect bound, with 208 full color pages. If funded, we will be using the services of PrintNinja for the production of WANDERLUST.
