Cato and Annie Parallel
If I had a nickel for every time a Career tribute went insane in the arena, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice. Let me elaborate.
We all know that Annie Cresta went insane in the arena. She saw her district partner die before her, which made her go into hiding. I do believe that she was a Career tribute. My reason for this is that District 4 was a Career district, and if one of the girls didn't think Annie was competent enough to win, someone else would have volunteered. A lot of benefits come with winning, so it would make more sense to send someone with excellent skills.
On to Cato. In the first book after the supply bombing, Katniss mentions that Cato might not be as sane as he appears. This leads to the question of whether Cato was sane before the arena.
My theory is that he was sane before the arena, but with Katniss stealing the spotlight, his doubts of winning increased. I feel like the tracker jacker venom would have amplified that to the point of insanity.
This further enunciates the points that you can train for something your whole life and still not be prepared for it. It's also another way to humanize the Careers. They're seen as these blood thirsty murderers, but at the end of the day, they're just kids trying to survive and trying to provide for their district. Obviously, the Hunger Games have been turned into something like a sport in Districts 1, 2 and 4, but it's interesting to see the Careers realizing they were lied to.
This parallel might be a bit of a stretch, but I thought I'd just share my thoughts here. Also, why do paperbacks take forever to be released in my country :( I'm still waiting to read Sunrise on the Reaping.

Chuuya's Ability Theory
In Storm Bringer, it was revealed that Chuuya's original ability was amplification. It's only thanks to Arahabaki that he has Corruption and thus gravity manipulation. I was thinking, what if Chuuya's amplification ability is affecting his gravity manipulation? It's been a few months since I read Storm Bringer, so I don't remember if it says anything to disprove this theory.

If Huntri/x was a Real Kpop Group
After watching Kpop Demon Hunters, I thought it would be fun to note what Huntr/x would get allegations/hate from as a kpop fan. I'm sure I missed a few things.
-Being late to their show
-Overworked allegations: One of the girls at their show literally said how they are overworked and are going on hiatus once the show was over. Also, the fact that they released Golden right after their tour ended would make fans send protest trucks to the company.
-Lazy allegations: They dipped their live performance only a few minutes before it started.
-Dating rumors: For Rumi and Jinu, it's kind of obvious. Dispatch would be trailing them during their secret meetings, let's be real. Zoey and Mystery would also get a few rumors. As for Mira, Romance and Abby, they would either face dating rumors or sibling allegations.
-Jealousy allegations: They wrote a diss track about the Saja Boys. The general public won't know the reason, but they would make some connections. Especially since Soda Pop and Golden were going neck and neck for the number one spot.
Just for fun, I'll also add what the individual members would get hate for.
Rumi:
-Favoritism: Gets a whole solo moment in Golden. It's not just that she sang for a whole minute straight; she was alone on stage.
-Hate for being a nepo baby
-Dating rumors with Jinu
Mira:
-Bullying allegations
-This goes mostly towards k-netizens, but I feel like some would hate her for wearing a sleeping bag to the Met Gala.
-Siblings or dating allegations
Zoey:
-Hate for being a foreigner
-Dating rumors with Mystery.
To finish this, I don't know if it's been officially stated, but I want to give positions to the Huntr/x girls.
Rumi: Leader, center, main vocalist, lead rapper
Mira: Main dancer, sub-vocalist, visual(?) (It's either her or Rumi.)
Zoey: Maknae, main rapper, lead dancer

Chuuya When Dazai Left (My Headcanon)
Now that Asagiri confirmed that Chuuya thought that Dazai died when he left the Port Mafia, I feel like a new wave of mischaracterisation came. Let me first say that I love Soukoku, both as a romantic and a platonic pairing, and I enjoy the headcanon that Chuuya cried. But that's just a headcanon. The posts I see make it sound like it's canon and it has been confirmed. So anyways, here's my analysis on what I think happened (aka my personal headcanon).
Let me be very blunt, I don't believe Chuuya cried. Firstly, Soukoku have a love-hate relationship. They go on and on about hating each other, but personally, I feel like they came to appreciate the other. Secondly, Dazai has been going on and on about wanting to kill himself that it wouldn't have come as a surprise to Chuuya to find out he died. I think Chuuya would have been more surprised at the fact that Dazai has succeeded than him actually being dead.
Now, this does not mean Chuuya didn't grieve for Dazai. They had an excellent partnership, and they were one of the most feared duos in Yokohama. Also, Dazai was there to cancel out Chuuya's corruption. My take on Chuuya's grief towards Dazai is similar to how the world grieved for Queen Elizabeth when she died. I don't mean the royal family or the royal superfans. I mean like how the world paused and took a moment to appreciate the late queen. Now, obviously, having known Dazai personally, Chuuya's grief would have ran deeper, but I really don't think he cried.
Anyways, thank you for reading my personal headcanon on what happened. This isn't hating on the headcanon that Chuuya cried when Dazai left. This is hating on the fact that most of the fandom simplifies Chuuya's character to always be revolving around Dazai.

Odysseus's Crew
Lowkey, if I were part of Odysseus's crew, I'd rather die at the hands of Polyphemus, Poseidon or Scylla. I would not want to survive until the cattles because then the last thing I see before dying is Zeus violating a cloud. Justice for the crew that had to die to that.

More Greek Mythology Rants (Cause Why not)
I have more to rant. Because where else should I rant but Tumblr?
So, basically, I stumbled upon a post about Artemis (as one does), and the premise of it was a headcanon that Artemis cursed Callisto to protect her or something. I don't remember much about it. But this got me thinking, was it to do with protection or not?
In modern culture, there's a trend of justifying the gods actions. Like how people say Minerva cursed Medusa to protect her. And while this is a nice girl protecting girl kind of thing, we also have to remember she can't do much to Neptune. How does one punish a god? (Not a Trials of Apollo reference.)
The Greek and Roman gods are a manifestation of nature and humanity's best and worst qualities. And I was thinking, maybe Minerva's actions didn't have a justification, but were sheer rage. Athena cursed Arachne for being a better weaver than her. Minerva could have cursed Medusa out of rage and not protection. When women are in competition against each other, they will fight the hell out (sometimes/mostly). And it's usually over a stupid thing too.
I'm not saying that moralising Minerva isn't bad. Everyone believes their own things. I just wanted to give my opinion on the matter. And now I'll go back to my first paragraph and rant.
As mentioned above, I saw a post where someone headcanoned Artemis cursing Callisto for protection and a way to stay in the wild (I really don't remember the explanation). And it also said that she missed Callisto. I can see that, but not the first part.
Remember when Artemis cursed Acteon for seeing her bathing. Essentially, he was going to lust over her. A Hunter with a crush on her is also considered to be someone lusting over her. I personally believed she cursed Callisto, not just because she broke her oath, but to protect herself. Female rapist do exist, and as much as I doubt Callisto would do such a thing, Artemis would have doubt. And can you blame her? Callisto literally slept with who she believed to be Artemis at first chance. The goddess who swore herself to chastity.
Lesbian sex is still sex. It doesn't matter that they couldn't have gotten pregnant. It's about the purity that your body hasn't been touched by someone in an intimate way. In a vulnerable way. It's the purity of not having someone feel you in a way nobody has.
Anyways, thank you for wasting your time reading random thoughts I decided to type out. The Internet is a wonderful place where everyone has their own interpretations of media, and these are just mine.

Artemis's Mischaracterisation
Something that constantly pisses me off is the mischaracterisation of Artemis. In the myths (both Greek and Roman), she swore an oath of chastity and maidenhood. A lot of people now like to joke around that Artemis sleeps with her hunters. Artemis is not a lesbian. She is not attracted to anyone, man or woman. It really bothers me when people say she's a lesbian or that she has flings with her hunters because Artemis, as well as Athena and Hestia, is an early example of an aroace figure. This belief can largely be thanks to Ovid (who let's be real) was a fanfiction writer of his time. In the Greek version of Callisto's myth, Zeus seduced her in his own form. Ovid (our favourite Roman fanfic writer) wrote about Zeus turning into Artemis to seduce Callisto. (And I don't listen to what Ovid writes. Especially since he was the one who wrote the myth about Artemis romantically loving Orion.)
Another mischaracterisation I hate so much is the fact that Artemis hates men. This, I believe, is mainly due to Rick Riordan. (I'm sorry. I love his writing. Percy Jackson is literally the reason I live.) However, if you look into mythology, Artemis has had male hunters: for example, Orion and Hippolytus. I'm not going to talk about Orion, but Hippolytus joined the hunters, rejecting Aphrodite, which made her curse his mother into falling in love with him, and a bunch of dying. I won't get into the specifics. I think the main reason there aren't many male hunters of Artemis is because they fear to provoke the wrath of Aphrodite.
Anyways, this was mostly supposed to be a rant about the lesbian allegations with Artemis. I've seen too many posts about her doing it with her hunters, and I have had enough.

Finished BSD Storm Bringer
I finished reading Storm Bringer last night, and it was an emotional rollercoaster. It's both sad and beautiful how Chuuya was convinced he wasn't human, but his actions and feelings show that he is human.
I did not expect the PM to use its resources to find Chuuya's parents in the epilogue. I also find it bittersweet that he saw them once and decided not to introduce himself. It says a lot about Chuuya as a character since he was a boy with no past, and now that he does have one, he's decided to leave it behind.
I think it's quite possible that the scientists got mixed up between real Chuuya and fake Chuuya. However, I have a theory that Chuuya swapped places with his artificial version because he felt guilty he was the reason to bring the artificial Chuuya into existence.
There is this one plot point I'm confused about. At the end of Fifteen, Mori gives him Rimbaud's hat, which I think is the same one Verlaine has, but I could be wrong. And in Storm Bringer, Chuuya doesn't wear a hat until the end. Did Verlaine just steal the hat back or something? I might be reading something wrong, but I'd like someone to explain it to me.

Maomao Aromantic HC
After watching The Apothecary Diaries, Maomao gives such aromantic vibes with a sexual attraction to women. Unlike the other girls who are obsessed with Jinshi, she seems to not think much of him. Additionally, she only gets truly excited when poisons are mentioned or when she's getting close to solving a case. Making her aromantic wouldn't make her unemotional, since we can see she has good relations with other characters, most notably with Xiaolan. Then there's the matter of fact that she can look at the male body completely unimpressed, but when it comes to a woman's cleavage size, she's always commenting on it.
