Yesterday

Time passes by while the weight of the world slowly consumes me

As I've aged, this body has resisted the crushing force with brazen tenacity.

Against all odds it arrives when my soul chooses not to. How long has it been since I hid here?

Sometimes I feel like I've been gone for years, in that time amassing friends, partners, lovers...

Though secluded within these walls, I see glimpses of them. The silhouettes of their bodies and souls captured in stills of moments that faded long ago. Do they still see them too?

I remember the days I spent with them vividly, yet I don't feel like I was there for some.

I can still feel the love in their eyes piercing through my shell striking me as few can. What does it mean when it's gone? How does it inform the present?

Through the eyes of these people, I have seen myself but have they ever seen me? If not I take the lion’s share of the blame. What can be found in a man that withholds his truth from himself?

Whether through desire or the ire therein, I wish to move past this. Though loved and long for, those times have passed. I love them still... but why tend a withered fruit?

Cascade

Emotions carry us farther than we can bear

A wind in the sail’s worth more than a prayer in the veil for pains they can’t assail

An anti-climactic didactic prophylactic

A flare in rarefied air to spare us something tragic

A gun in a face is quicker than a bid in a race

But the magi’s pace declares we walk in grace

A paradox that devours our inner space; An obstacle in the eternal chase

Semiautomatic statements ring in fear of their replacements

A disproportionate response to our stance in the matrix 

A spark in the dark; a disturbance in the stasis 

In time we find there’s little to do but face it

Yet the universe awaits us to embrace it

The fear of self is yet understood

A limitation in man for its own good

A demarcation from the great “I Am” that limits the mind but keeps alive the sensation that through it all 

“I am…”

An emotion made whole through stages

A footnote in a tome of ages

The blood of creation rushes through the veins of all nations but its fixation that keeps them from the equation

Its the false pursuit of sensation

The sequence in relation to one’s self

The storehouse of our inner wealth

Questioning the foundations hidden beneath tribulations

reveal the source of our frustrations

The emotional trauma…

The seething rage…

Signs of a torrential rain that expels our inner pain and supplements what we’ll gain

The transmutation of grief into vitality through the manifestation of self in totality 

 A swell pushing from our inner hell to the outer limits of reality  set forth by the palpitations of our spirit rejecting finality

A Blessed curse to those who fear it 

The amalgamation of eons of evolution filling and bursting with absolution warping  causality 

Til it cascades…

Iris (A Fading Dream)

I have been many things in this life

Broken

Disjointed

Transfixed

Stuck in a dream of my own creation

A maze  to guard my heart from destruction  

A decoy for the man that lurks beneath

In my haste to avoid self I left behind the bonds of youth

Tethered solely by the parameters of this dream

Connected…

To no one…

To nothing…

Exalted by my faults

Suspended in my esteem

All an effort to avoid the pain life inevitably brings

But Calamity comes for us all

With it, baring the death of who I was

A resounding howl from creation that “you are not all”

“A spec so great; so small”

“A man part of a design he has yet to understand”

“A  building block in a castle made of sand”

Questions displace fallacy

Yearning devours doubt

If all things are ephemeral and I am never without

Where is the adversary for which I mount?

From what immutable truths have I been in defense?

What use are scars left by chains of my own construction?

What path leads me from further destruction ?

“Redemption”

“Ascension”

“The next steps in a path laid from conception”

“The acceptance of all you are and will be”

“The cementing of all you’ve gleaned”

“But what have you seen?”

That the scars I bare are not brands..but proof

That the seed I propagate is of a sacred fruit

That I am one path to a greater truth

That I exist  

Ever in pursuit

A shard of the godhead ever pressing toward the source of its creation

Its reason to be

But I’d have to leave the dream to see….
