I wonder if you think about

how small you made me

reduced me down

to just girl with feelings

I wonder if my name

is whispered in your hallways

proof of your failures

and cruel misgivings

I hope my truth

burnt you from the inside

singed your lovely reputation

that’s all I wanted

when you set my home alight

I held you to the fire too

December is approaching, and with it the summer heat.

I long to be kissed by the sun, to lay in the sea looking up at endless blue. To feel the sand burning my feet as I run towards the sea.

For now the days are humid and wet, with no sun to see past the wall of grey clouds.

But the moment that changes, you’ll find me by the sea.

thank you to everyone who has read, liked, reblogged or followed my poetry. every poem I write feels like tearing little parts of my soul out and handing them to you to be consumed; this practice of sharing is the most intimate and personal act I can do. I’ve been writing since I was fourteen, but the sharing aspect I’m very new to. I have more longer form, ‘journal entries’ if you will, planned in addition to poetry.
