Play This Demo // Pacific Drive
I played the demo for one of my most anticipated games of 2024!
Ironwood Studios’ new survival game Pacific Drive has been on my Steam wishlist for quite some time now. After its late 2022 reveal, I was immediately hooked on knowing everything about this game, constantly checking for new updates or seeing if any release date reveals were dropping. Thankfully, Steam’s Next Fest has kicked off, with a Pacific Drive demo just for me!  Well..not really, but it…

On Deck // Kingdoms Eighties
The Kingdom franchise has been around for several years now. A 2D side scroller resource management sim was first released back in 2015. It gained a ton of popularity for its simplicity and addictive gameplay. I definitely enjoyed each of the released games but never played them all long enough to beat them. They were fun, but honestly, the aesthetic was meh for me overall. When Kingdoms…

Assassin's Creed Mirage // First Thoughts
I’ve been looking forward to a comeback for Assassin’s Creed, and I think Mirage might be it. Assassin’s Creed is one of my favorite game franchises. I’ve been a diehard fan for many, many years. I’ve played all the mainline games, outside of Rogue (I dunno why), and have enjoyed them all. For me though, as time went on, I started to miss the simplicity that the franchise used to have. Like…

New World Update // Season 4 // Eternal Frost
New World has been my go-to relaxing game for 2023. I jumped back into the game heavily for Season 3 and the new expansion Rise of the Angry Earth. I played through the entire season pass and really enjoyed all the new things they added. Like the flail weapon, and finally the mounts. I genuinely don’t follow the lore super heavily, I just play solo, run through quests, level up trade skills, and…

Tired Update // Happy New Year! // 1/4/2024
Hello everyone! It’s time for another Tired Update! Per usual, it’s been a while since the last post, but a lot has changed in the last few months. So let’s get into it. Last year I moved into a much smaller place for a while. I thought I could get back on track with many things that I wanted to do, like gaming and writing, but my time got filled with a lot of driving and more juggling of…

Alan Wake II // Chapter 2 Thoughts
Here we are, finally, Chapter 2 is completed. Returning to Cauldron Lake searching for a zombified Nightingale proved to be a wild trip. First, I know Alan Wake is a part of the Control universe, so I feel like I have been searching for anything that might connect the two in this game. Chapter 2 gives the first little bit. There is a guy named Steven who is fixing what he says is a monitoring…

Mini Book Reviews // 2023
I just recently started getting back into reading books consistently. In 2022 I read over 15 books, but when this new year rolled around, it took me a while to pick some new up. At this point though, I’ve read 3 books! This seems like such a small number, which is it for me, but two of them were physical books, limiting the time I get to sit and read. The other was a Kindle book, so I was able…

Alan Wake II // Chapter 1 Thoughts
I have been waiting for this game for 10 years and it is finally here. If you know me, I am a a huge fan of Remedy, from the Max Payne games to Quantum Break, and Control. The writing is always great, the games are fun, and the characters are interesting. Alan Wake is genuinely one of my favorite games of all time, and for the sequel to finally come out 13 years after the original is just so…

What I Played This Weekend // October 18-19, 2023

My weekend is coming to an end. So what did I play over my two days off? Not much new… New World Once again coming at you with some New World. I’ve just been grinding away at the season pass stuff when I get the chance. I think I’m around tier 65 right now, which is easily the highest I’ve ever gotten. I haven’t bought the premium tier track yet, but I’m thinking I am making great progress that…

On Deck // Remember Me
Remember Me has been in my backlog for years. I finally played it entirely on the Steam Deck.
Remember Me is a game that came out back in June of 2013. It’s wild to think it was ten years ago at this point. The game was developed by Don’t Nod. Don’t Nod’s reputation didn’t really get big until their Choose Your Own Adventure-style game Life is Strange came out. Seems to have dwindled over the years again, but they do have a new game I am looking forward to called Banishers coming out next…

What I Played This Weekend // October 11-12, 2023
Alright, I know this isn’t technically the end of the traditional weekend, but my days off are Wednesdays and Thursdays, so that’s my weekend! What did I do this past weekend with my gaming time? Check it out! New World Rise of the Angry Earth I’m pretty hardcore into New World again. I actually have been for the past few months. It has been a perfect game to jump into with some downtime, do a…

Tired Update // Oof, It's Been A Bit // Personal
I'm slowly making my way back, y'all.
Well, this year hasn’t quite gone the way I was planning. My main goal for this year’s blog was to keep up with it. Nothing too crazy. A post a week, minimum. Well, life got in the way. Not going to go into deep detail, but my life has been pretty rough over the last six months. So once again, this blog took a long hiatus. I actually took a break from social media for a little while as well.…

On Deck // Dredge First Impressions
Lovecraft horror meets fishing! Best game of 2023?
Who would’ve thought my favorite game so far this year was a fishing game mixed with some Lovecraft horrors? I knew absolutely nothing about Dredge before I randomly saw it on someone’s Twitter post praising it with a preview before it launched. I watched one trailer on Steam and was sold on it right away. Dredge is a fishing game, where you’re a fisherman who crashed near an island. You’re…

Tired Update // What I've Been Playing 4/9/23
New Tired Update is here! Recap of some old posts, as well as some new stuff!
Hey everyone! I figured it was a good time to make a new Tired Update, but because I am awful at trying to stick to the numerous plans and ideas I write in these updates, I decided to just stick to what I have been up to in life and in the gaming space! Diablo IV Beta Played through some of the Diablo IV Beta a week or so ago. I’m a fan of Diablo, but I’ve only played Diablo III. It was great,…

Sam B is Taking Over Dead Island Twitter Account
Remember "Who do you Voodoo"?
Sam B, the rapper turned zombie slayer from the first Dead Island game, has resurfaced and has taken over the Dead Island Twitter account. Sam B was one of the player characters from the original Dead Island game. Seems like he has come back and is answering future players’ questions right now. Not much interesting stuff has been answered so far, but you can keep up with it all here. Here are…

On Deck // Marvel's Midnight Suns Impressions
I've been playing some Midnight Suns exclusively on the Steam Deck! Check out my impressions so far!
Marvel’s Midnight Suns have been in my backlog for some time now. The main reason was that I wasn’t entirely sure where to play it. On my Xbox or my PC. Luckily it became playable on the Steam Deck, and that was all I needed for this turn-based deck-building brawler. Midnight Suns is developed by Fire Axis, the same people who have done the XCOM games, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that…
