help I'm cosplaying as a cis straight person for the extended family christmas dinner and I actually the only thing that helps is pretending I'm just sirius black before he started rebelling against his parents 🫡🫡🫡 is kinning every marauders era character a problem?? usually. but right now it's saving my sanity.

okay but remus 'eat. you'll feel better' lupin who learns his saying because he uses it to remind sirius on his bad days.

sirius, who comes to hogwarts basically starved after being home, who often doesn't eat because he tells himself he doesn't deserve it, tells himself nobody will want him around if he's not slender.

when he starts dating remus in 5th year, things get better for a while, with his moony pleading with him to come to the great hall and showing him that he'll be loved regardless or his weight and looks.

james and his family help too, once he runs away. they take him in and make sure to cook his favourite foods, encourage him to help himself to food, and remind him that they will never think less of him or punish him.

but the habits never go away. when regulus dies it gets really bad. from there, the habits only reappear on his bad days, days where he hates what looks back at him in the mirror, days where he argues with remus, days where he's very anxious.

and remus, james, peter, his best friends, support him. as they always promised. it becomes a routine when they notice, peter will bake for him and james will remind him they love him, and remus, the one who can always help even when everything else fails, will come and sit next to his boyfriend. 'eat love. you'll feel better. I'm here'

and it works, even after azkaban, when things get really bad again.

I love 'amazing friend' peter pettigrew because it makes the betrayal so much more painful. give me peter who learns that james has adhd and researches it for how best to support him. give me peter who spends hours in the potions lab and herbology classrooms trying to create numbing and soothing ointments to help remus on his bad joint pain days. give me peter who joins in on girls night, gossiping with them and letting them do his nails and makeup. give me peter who realises that sirius is in love with remus before they even realise themselves, and who prompts them in the direction of each other for months, without them ever realising. give me peter who tries to save regulus from his fate even as they both work for the dark lord, only because he knows how much sirius cares about his little brother.

idk man I just love peter pettigrew. (pre-betrayal....obviously)

i just keep thinking about trans regulus, and his family's refusal to acknowledge him as a boy until sirius leaves and they want a son, not a daughter, to be the heir.

also that regulus decides not to go with sirius because his parents tell him they'll let him be a boy if he stays with them.
