I’ve wanted to draw an interaction between Riddle and Malleus’s dragon form so bad for months and after what feels like forever, I finally finished 😮‍💨. Procreate says this took me 90 hrs and 4 minutes…and that’s probably pretty accurate my gosh I’m a slow artist.

Though to be fair this is the first time I have spent so much time on a background like this. I’m still not 100% happy with it but I do like how the trees turned out.

As for my headcanons, I always imagined the Riddle isn’t afraid of Malleus’s true form, in fact he probably finds him fascinating as Riddle has been proven to be curious and obsessed with learning about things he doesn’t know much about in canon.

Malleus on the other hand is overjoyed by Riddle’s lack of fear and doesn’t mind at all being an overgrown heated-pillow.

So from what we have seen so far of the Equestrian club it seems like each club member focuses on a certain Equestrian sport; Silver with Show Jumping and Sebek with Dressage. Honestly I love that and I think both sports fit the characters really well! (I just imagine Sebek showing off in Dressage for his liege lol).

Now, that just leaves Riddle! I’ve seen Racing as a possible suggestion but let me bring my own suggestion…Cross-country!! For those unaware, cross-country is focused on not only jumping and endurance but also speed. It’s an insane sport to watch (and personally my favourite event to watch) and I feel like it just makes sense for Riddle and Vorpal. You need to be fast (which idk but I feel like that suits Riddle, like he can get some sort of freedom from riding fast) but you also have to be able to control that speed especially when coming up to a jump or traversing some more tricky terrain like water or hills.

I think Cross-country would be the perfect fit for Riddle so I’m crossing my fingers that, that turns out to be his specialty!!!!

Either way once his card is released I’m going to work on a piece with all three of the Equestrian club members together! The Equestrian club is my favourite so I’m gonna be broke after they come out in Eng (I swear they all better come home >-<). 🐴

Riddle and Malleus’s kiddo!

I’ve played around with some design ideas for a possible kiddo for Mal and Rid and I finally settled on this design! He takes most after Malleus in terms of visual appearance but he does have Riddle’s eye colour and a bit of his white hair (I headcanon Riddle to have naturally white hair that his mother used to force him to colour red, like painting the roses red). As for his name I wanted to keep the Male- from Maleficent and I just liked the sound of ‘den’ being added on.

He’s a quiet little fellow, who is very polite but will talk your ear off if you mention any of his interests. He loves to explore many hobbies but is always a little anxious as he tends to be clumsy which can be dangerous as he is learning to control his powers still.

Riddle and Malleus dote on him, both obsessed with giving him a better childhood than they had.

This took way too long to design lol (it was supposed to be a quick piece😂)

Ever since we got Malleus’s Prince attire I’ve wanted to design a matching outfit for Riddle so I finally got around to it!

I got some inspo from Malleus’s sleepwear as well with the colours and tree patterns. I didn’t take this too seriously so I just went with what I was feeling and it felt like it fit him. I also designed an emblem specially for Malleus so I added it to Riddle’s design as I imagine he’d wear it proudly. His crown is shaped to look horn like and when wearing full royal attire I imagine he wears cuffs on his ears that make them look pointed (Malleus of course doesn’t care that Riddle isn’t a fae but Riddle does and he does what he can to get approval from the fae in Briar Valley, so he wears them as a sign of respect).

As for his hair I 100% headcanon that his hair is naturally white but his mother dyes it red (like painting the roses red🌹) so when he gets free of his mother he lets the natural colour come back.

Also, here is a quick ref I did of Malleus’s dragon form for an upcoming piece I’m working on. I disliked that they used his mom’s model in game for him so I made some differences. Mainly his face is more narrow than his mother’s, more like Maleficent’s. I also adjusted the colours some and made them a little more saturated. I usually like less saturated colours but I liked the bright purple. Again this was just a real quick mock-up to help with the bigger piece I’m working on.

I may come back and change it again in the future but ehy for now I’m okay with it.

Do you think Riddle would be excited upon learning fae have their own set of rules? He'd study tf out of that shit and just casually follow it with Malleus whos all surprised and pleased.

Riddle would be soooooo happy about getting it all right, especially since Malleus would praise him left and right. Malleus would not say it, but Riddle is also scoring many Marriage Points. For reasons.

Omg, we are getting an SR Riddle and Malleus in the same event with a smaller cast!! I'm so happy, I hope they get to interact a lot!

I feel like they usually are only in events with large casts like glorious masquerade so with such a small card list they should get to interact more. I'm also excited to see more of the world outside of NRC too, those are always my favourite events.

Edit: AHHH designs dropped and oh boi do they look good. I'm going feral over both of these. Like Malleus's hair looks so good like that and Riddle's coral earrings are so cute!

Malleus finally has a friend that will invite him places!

I can just imagine that somehow an invitation Riddle sends to Malleus gets lost somehow. Several times.

So the only choice is to deliver it personally!

Riddle gets nervous because, well, they just met for a while while they were children... Maybe Riddle is putting too much weight on it. Yeah, it changed his life a little, but! Malleus is a prince! He probably has a lot of people in his life. Thankfully Malleus is also a housewarden, so Riddle tries to lean more on the side that it's good to keep close relationships between their dormitories. Sure, he does invite Diasomnia more than the others, but it just because Malleus is more receptive of his invitations.

Malleus himself is carefully keeping each letter in a beautiful box, re-reading them at least five times per night and hugging it while wiggling his legs in the air. Lilia has already told him to not jump the gun, even if he should have as much fun as he can, but. Well. Let the man imagine it being a love letter.

I think that Riddle would be so adorably defensive of Malleus. Everything Malleus could ever do was normal. Licking eyes? Lizard thing. Flying? It's a dragon, of course. Appearing out of nowhere? Maybe is is just super powerful, nothing here to judge.

Malleus wouldn't understand much, but I think he would pick up on Riddle adoring him.
