“thank you so much for being on the show,” hannah smiles into the mic. “i’m shocked to even receive the email from your pr manager, actually.”

“no, yeah,” she grins, nails pressed against her lips, biting down on the bottom. she’s never actually been on a podcast before. “we were talking about making an appearance somewhere, but i’m kinda - very - intimidated by men. i chose this podcast specifically.”

“oh, you know of our existence,” emma gushes, giggling slightly. “we feel so honoured. thank you so much.”

“honestly, i’m always around men,” she laughs, scrunching her nose. “i live with a man. so being around women is always a very nice change.”

“right, you recently moved in with logan sargeant in the uk,” hannah points out. “if you don’t mind me asking, how did that decision come about? because you’re really good friends with oscar piastri as well, how come he doesn’t live with you guys?”

“oh, that’s an interesting point,” emma frowns. “i never thought of that.”

“yeah, so growing up oscar and logan actually stayed with my family on and off just because they’ve got brothers and sisters that their parents would have to attend to back home,” she recalls out loud, remembering the sleepovers they’ve spend in the living room with her siblings. “i think when i was… like 15, oscar was 16, and logan was 17, obviously.

i think my sister and i had a really bad fight that turned the house upside down. i mentioned that i couldn’t wait to move out and never speak to her again — i was very overdramatic as a teen. and they were like ‘yeah, that’s a good idea! we should get a place!’”

“oh, so you didn’t even propose the idea of living together?”

“exactly! they just love inviting themselves to be a part of my life. they’ve got cars while i don’t, so that’s a big plus,” she laughs. “then, well, oscar met lily when he was 18 and they got an apartment together after oscar landed reserve driver for alpine. which then left logan and i to kinda figure things out. then, we both landed a contract to race in the 2023 season and both our racing headquarters are in uk, luckily. so we made the decision to move in together earlier this year.”

“so oscar bailed!”

“that’s okay,” she scoffs, waving off the host’s concern. “we live pretty close by, so lily and oscar are always at our place anyway.”

“so, i totally don’t wanna get into it. but like, girl to girl,” hannah grins giddily. “and i promise we’ll get into the racing stuff in a bit, but i’m just curious.”

“it’s okay because i like you guys,” she jokes. “ask away.”

“there’s a lot of speculation that you and logan seem to be too close to just be best friends,” hannah explains. “and it’s seemed to be a trend since you were in f2 together, so i just wanna ask you if… well…”

she smiles. this isn’t exactly the first time she’s heard that. while they preferred to keep their relationship under wraps for several reasons, her and logan aren’t very discreet either.

there are pictures on the internet, after races where they head to weigh-in together with logan holding her things, laughing as they walk, which is normal. but there are also a couple of pictures where they were caught with logan’s hand on her cheek, or of them walking in the paddocks with her hands wrapped around his arm.

she’s not shocked that people talk about their relationship, but more shocked that everyone seems to shrug it off as them being really good friends.

“we’re actually not romantically involved at all,” she lies, though her cheeks flush up at the thought of her boyfriend. “i think we met really early on in life so we’re super comfortable with each other.”

“so, you’re setting the record straight. you don’t have a man.”

she nods firmly. “i don’t have a man. not planning to get one — i’ve just been really busy with my career. if anything, logan is my stand-in date for every event.”

“that’s true friendship if i’ve ever seen one.”

yooo is there any chance I can request parent headcanons for the safehouse crew (cod: bocw)??? been replaying the bo2 campaign and the Adler is Graves' father theory has a grip on me esp recently now that that mf is coming back

I imagine that Adler is a pretty distant parent, what with work in the CIA taking up most of his time and probably isn't able to see his kid much to begin with after the divorce, no doubt his ex wife has full custody of any of the children they had during that marriage. he's the kind of dad to buy his teenage kid expensive gifts to make up for the times he couldn't be there, usually related to something they were mildly interested in when they were like 7. And that thing is probably one of the only things he knows about them because they ranted about it to him when they were really young and naive. Russ is not as good as vocalizing his affection, but he's observant, and would zero in on any information and likes that his kid has when they express it... It's just that the usually don't with the distance between them. I think he does genuinely care about his child and still wants to show that they appreciate them, but just doesn't know how to properly connect with them on an emotional level, and usually doesn't even have the time. I don't think he'd treat his kid much differently based on their gender, he's still an emotionally-supressed mostly absentee father that his child would kind of just grow to resent as they get older. Adler is the 'he tried' dad. (I hc that Graves his kid is also the most likely to have a wild rebellious teens phase, and he'd kind of just let it happen so long as they aren't getting into any legal trouble because at that point their relationship would be so strained and he's just kinda apathetic about it. I think he's the type that would come home late to catch his kid smoking, and the only thing he'd do is ask why they started and if they know the consequences of it, then promptly asks for one and never brings it up again.)

Hudson, on the contrary, would be the perfect dad. Girl dad 100%, this man has a wife and two daughters (I think, might need to double check this one, but point still stands because I think he'd be good with girls). This man deserves a bo burnham 1985 edit. I think that he's really the type of guy who tries to squeeze in as much quality time with his family even with his work, and is the type to frequently show affection and pride for his children. Jason is completely soft for his wife and children, in contrast to how much of a no-nonsense hardass he is on the job. I am utterly convinced that this is the man who would always play along with his daughter's tea parties when he has tine and would never miss any of his son's games (he'd ask Jenny to record it for him if he's knows he's gonna be on a mission for a long time). I imagine that he really goes the extra mile to be the best role model for his kids, being both responsible and loving even with the limited presence he has because of his job. Hudson is the father figure some us needed in life ngl.

I don't think Mason would be an abusive dad contrary to what most people would take away from the one interaction we see with him and a very young David. I definitely think he'd have some major anger issues though, no doubt that trauma from The Numbers™️ and all the shit he's gone through as soldier and later CIA op would have an impact on him. He would never lay a hand on his own kid, but he's definitely shouted at them pretty frequently and has likely broken objects around them when he's angry. Much more so after his wife's death and being left as a single dad who barely has any idea what he's doing, and the only other person who can rein him in from it is Frank. I think he's more affectionate and less emotionally distant than Adler, but still just not as close as he should be to his child. He'd apologize for his outbursts and all but, being raised with traditional values from the 30s-40s, he isn't really the type to have those heartfelt talks about feelings because men are supposed to be strong and being emotional makes you weak and all that crap. Would be tougher with a son, and stricter with a daughter. Alex would become a lot more understanding and open over time when his kid grows older, and mellow out as an old man and just be proud of how they turned out despite how he was. The anger issues never really dissipates, but he learns to control it and be better for his kid for the remainder of his life. Mason is the dad you'd resent and have so much anxiety over in your teens and twenties but eventually make up with and get closure by your late thirties or so.

Woods would definitely be more of a fun uncle than a dad. More of the tough love type, but will always remind his kid that they're appreciated at the end of the day. But I also imagine he's a lot more reckless snd clumsy, specially as a first-time father. May not be perfect, has his own shortcomings in a lot of places, but he's really trying his best. I imagine that he probably tiptoed a lot when it came to raising David, trying not to yell at him too much and tried to be his anchor as much as he can after he was tricked into killing Alex (and then promptly going off on him when he shows face again after thirty years). Frank would be considerate and very vocal about his appreciation for his kid despite . Woods is the lovable old man that you'd have a lot of funny memories to look back on, and cussing you out is just his own way of saying he loves you.

I don't have as much thoughts on them but I think Park would be very overprotective, especially if she had a daughter. Would shelter her child and be very strict with them, making sure she knows how and where her kid is all the time, who her kid is with, and how safe they are. Would make her child wear a tracker watch and tell her all and any people they meet or see. Madam Shell's betrayal and her brother's death have definitely left a mark on her, and she would excessively worry about them at all times, to the point of it being suffocating and very invasive Lazar is the balance to this, more lenient and lets his kid have a right to privacy and freedom. Sure, he still worries a lot, but he has enough faith in his child to let then go off on their own when they're at an appropriate age. I also imagine that he gives the best best hugs. Sims would be somewhere in between, albeit more leaning on the stricter side.

How the Safehouse Crew treat their kid

Russell Adler

He's absolutely an absent dad

It's not that he does it on purpose, it's just what happens with his job

Russell tries so hard. So hard to be there, but a lot of the time he just can't because of work

If his kid does any sports, you can bet your ass that he's gonna be at any games he can

Now, that's not a lot, but still

Adler absolutely cheers the loudest anytime that his kid does anything

He'll also argue with the refs or umpires about dumb calls

Has been kicked out multiple times

Russell also buys his kid anything that they want

Christmas with him is like out of a damn movie

Presents are practically stacked to the roof and each one is more extravagant than the last

Is definitely the type of parent to dump a bunch of money on his kid for whatever they want

It's his way of making up for barely being around

Has missed his visitation days a lot

Every time he does, Adler sends money and presents as an apology

One time, his kid was staying over at his house because they got into an argument with their mom

He came home late and was met with the sight of his only child smoking cigarettes in the living room

"You know what those do to your lungs?"

The kid just stared for a second before nodding in shock

"Good. Don't be surprised when you get lung cancer. Lord knows I'm already getting close to that. Give me one."

The kid hands over the whole pack, and Adler takes one, lights it, and hands it back. "Don't tell your mother."

On the times that he actually has off and has the kid, he tries to make a whole day out of spending time together

Adler takes them to an amusement park or something, and its just plain awkward the whole time

But, by the end of the day, they're just a little closer

Mainly because they had a heart to heart on the car ride home

They even hugged!

And then nothing changed

Girl dad 100%

He's the dad that everyone needs

So supportive, no matter what

Jason does, in fact, have two girls. And, if I remember right, he loves them more than anything

This man absolutely has been caught playing princesses and knights with his daughters by his wife

His favorite thing is to sit at the tiny tables and have a tea party

Loves his kids so much

If he had a son, Hudson would teach him how to throw a football

Definitely would push him to join a sport

If he does, Hudson goes to every game

Just like Adler, he cheers the loudest

If his girls get boyfriends, you can bet your ass that he's going to let them know that he has multiple guns and absolutely knows how to use it

Hudson and his kid are going to have a long talk that ends in a hug and a promise not to do it again

Overall his kids are well behaved and he's a good dad

I love him so much, anger issues and all

Any time that he screams and breaks things in front of his kid, he calls Woods to come and pick them up so he can take care of things

He always feels horrible after he yells. Alex never wanted to hurt anyone. Quite the opposite, actually. He just doesn't know how to control his anger

Throughout the kids developmental years, he tries his best not to yell or get angry, but a lot of the time he can't stop himself in time

In comes one Frank Woods, who ends up coming over and taking the kid out for ice cream or to the park or just for a drive

He ends up being that cool uncle that the kid goes to when something happens

When he gets discharged (Honorably) from the military, Mason ends up going to therapy

And anger management classes

Only reason he does is because his kid ends up yelling back when he gets angry

And he realizes that he fucked up :(

So that helps him mellow out for his kids later years

Definitely apologizes to his kid for how they were raised

Alex won't over explain or get all mushy, but it'll come up as a simple "I'm sorry for how you were raised," and leave it at that

Will express his feelings through gifts or spending quality time with his kid

If he gets grandkids, Alex will take that as the time to make up for his kids shitty childhood

Best granddad for real

When he's older, he won't mind as much when it comes to telling his kid that he's proud of them

She'll try her best to stop if her kid says something, but her anxiety is way too high to stop fully

One fond memory that her kid would have of their younger years is her sneaking into their room and climbing into bed with them

She just sat there and held them, silently telling them how much she loved them

Helen thought their kid was asleep, not awake and hearing everything she was saying

Park definitely let her kid sneak into her bed when they had nightmares or got sick

She secretly loves it and is sad when they stop doing it

Consider the image of Percy on vacation in one of those Hawaiian shirts and big sunglasses. Also I do not apologize for the amount of Pike. She is everything to me<3 -Finn

"Now, I know reckless in a fight," Pike said, carefully wrapping a bandage around the deep wound on your leg. "I have been reckless in a fight. But that? That was not reckless. That was stupid. And stupid will get you killed out there! And then where would we be?" 

You knew her well enough to recognize the concern under the scolding, even as she wrapped the bandage a little tighter than necessary to punctuate her point. You felt bad about letting her look after you even after she had burned the last of her spell slots, but she hadn't been keen on taking no for an answer after getting a look at the injury, dragging you to your room in the keep. According to her, it was a miracle you’d gotten back to the keep at all on that leg after the battle. Even when you insisted you could wrap it yourself, she waved you off. Too kind for her own good with a party like this. Sometimes she was the only thing keeping you all from running headfirst to your demises. (Or at least yanking you all back when you tried.)

"I know, I know. I'm sorry, Pike. I just couldn't let Percy take the hit instead, he didn't see it coming, he would be worse off than I am now." You smiled at the cleric, shrugging your shoulders sheepishly. Pike didn’t look all that impressed, but you knew she understood. 

His gun had jammed in the middle of the battle, a familiar flaw of its mechanisms. But instead of teasing your lover about it like usual, you had seen an attacker lunge at him as he let his guard down. He was a ranged fighter, nothing should have been allowed to get that close in the first place. Of course, he dropped his guard for a moment. In any other fight, he would have been fine to unjam his gun while ducking back from the battle. 

It sent an uncomfortable chill down your spine when you imagined what might have happened if you hadn't been so close. Throwing yourself in the way and fighting off the creature had landed you with a blindingly painful wound on your leg and likely a couple of bruised ribs if the ache that came with breathing was anything to go by. It had been stronger than you'd expected, and getting hit with the flat of a weapon may have been better than the edge, but it still hurt like a bitch.

"Both of you were being stupid. If I see that happen again, you'll have Grog patch you up instead. And he hasn't quite gotten a handle on his bedside manner, yet." 

Laughing hurt, but It was good to know Pike was relaxed enough to joke. Meant that you probably weren't dying. 

"Pike! Are they-" Percy bolted into the room, looking for all intents a wild man, before stopping in his tracks at the sight of you. A load of tension dropped from his shoulders, but only for long enough for him to register your injuries. You knew you looked pretty rough. In all fairness, so did he, his white hair shot through with wisps of gray from gunsmoke and the black powder always left on his gloves. He must have been running his hands through it, if it’s messy style was anything to go off of. 

"Hey, Percy," you said softly, doing your best to offer a reassuring smile. It must have been closer to a grimace with the concerned noise he bit off  in response. There was something a little heartbreaking about the open stress and worry in his eyes as he stepped forward, hesitating to touch you. He so often had his emotions in check, that seeing them so openly on display felt unfair to him. You grabbed his hand, squeezing it a moment, and the contact seemed to pull him back out of his thoughts. 

"By the gods, what were you thinking? Are you insane? You could have gotten yourself killed! Who just jumps in front of an attack like that?" He wasn't quite yelling, wouldn't yell at you in your own room, but the panic set into his voice was more than a sufficient substitute. 

"Percy, it's not like you were dodging it, you would have been hit instead." You made an attempt at answering reasonably, trying to calm his worries, but if anything, it only made it worse somehow. 

"Then you should have let it hit me instead of throwing yourself at a blade! If it had hit you at a different angle it very well could have gone straight through you! Were you thinking at all?" He had dropped your hand now, pacing a circle in your room. 

"I was thinking about how you were going to get hit. Is it such a crime to look out for you?" 

"At the cost of yourself, yes!"

"I'm not going to sit and watch you get hurt if I can do something about it!"

"And make me watch you nearly die instead?"

Pike spoke up before you could say anything, pushing herself to her feet. "Both of you. Quit it." She was obviously both annoyed and exhausted. You and Percy both wilted under her tone as she turned to look at you. "That was a stupid and dangerous move today. Don't pull that again. Percy, Don't yell at someone who saved you, you sound like an asshole. They need to rest, so shelve your argument for later." 

The wind had been taken out of his sails, leaving him standing back by the wall, thoroughly chastised. "I, yes, of course, Pike."

"Don't walk on that leg today, take it easy," Pike said, looking back at you. "I'll be back in a couple of hours to double-check on you, but I need some rest. I'm plumb out of energy." 

"Don't worry about it, Pike, I'll be alright. Thank you." 

"Good. Now both of you, if I hear anything about you two arguing again, I'm setting Keyleth on your case." With that, she patted your shoulder and swept out of the room. 

There was a moment of awkward silence, Percy glancing around your room rather than meeting your eyes. He seemed to be debating on what to say, or maybe whether to follow Pike out the door to be out of your hair. 

"Percy,"

"I apologize. I shouldn't have been so harsh with you. Especially not while you're injured. I didn't- I, well." Staring fiercely at his feet, his apology was stumbling. There was something endearing about it, in the way there always was when he extended a branch of vulnerability. "I was worried about you. Seeing you get thrown to the ground after taking a hit for me was...terrifying, to say the least."

"Oh, Percy," you sighed, beckoning him over. "It was pretty fucking terrifying to see you about to be hit, too." 

He walked up to you, stopping in front of you and kneeling down so as to look up at you instead of towering over you. "I...can understand that. I simply don't want you getting hurt on my behalf. Or at all, really."

"Wouldn't that be lovely? Being adventurers who never get hurt." You reached a hand out, resting it softly on his cheek. He leaned into your touch, and you could see through the worry to the affection underneath it. "I don't want you hurt either. If today didn't make that obvious."

"I know, dear, I do." He nodded, turning his head to press a kiss to your palm. It was achingly soft, like he was still afraid that you would break. You wouldn’t, but the gentle nature of his love still squeezed your heart. "Could I at least look after you while you recover? This is my fault." 

"Don't be an idiot, I moved of my own free will. But, I wouldn't deny some extra time with you. And I'll need the help if I'm supposed to stay off my leg." 

"We can discuss who's at fault tomorrow, love. Tell me what I can do to help?" There was an exasperated fondness in his voice, the familiar pattern the two of you always fell into. It was soothing after the sharp tension of before. 

"Just hold me? We could both use the chance to relax, I think." 

He let out a breathless chuckle, nodding and reluctantly pulling back from your gentle hold. He wasn't fragile either, not like glass ready to break. But you couldn't help but want to treat him with care, the same way he treated you as he carefully helped you lie down in your bed, shedding his coat to slip in beside you and draw you into his arms.

For hazbin hotel au: in what scenario would cause both alastor and Lucifer to agree or find out the truth at same time?

Ngl, the wording of this has me a little confused. Uhh, so a situation where Alastor and Lucifer both figure it out at the same time?

It probably begins with Alastor suspecting but not actually knowing about Lucifer's past with his mother. And he doesn't really care enough to go digging. Until Lucifer moves into the hotel.

After the extermination when things have calmed down and everyone's getting used to the new hotel and living together, Charlie makes sure to stress to Alastor and Lucifer that she'd at least like them to be civil with each other, even if they can't exactly be friendly. They begrudgingly agree, which means they're spending more time in one another's vicinity. At some point the topic of favorite foods comes up and Alastor, being the mama's boy he is, begins praising his mother's jambalaya. Lucifer isn't enough of a dick to insult someone's mother's cooking, but he does chime in that the best jambalaya he's ever had was made by a really sweet lady he met whence upon a time when he snuck up to Earth and wound up in the middle of this really wild party in the southern US. It's a little funny; he doesn't remember most of that night. And angels usually have impeccable memories!

Alastor narrows his eyes. He decides to play a hunch.

"If you're so certain, why don't we just see how my mother's recipe measures up?" he challenges. Lucifer agrees. But he's certain that Alastor's cooking won't come anywhere close to his memory of that Mardi Gras in 190x.

On his way out the door, Alastor 'offhandedly' remarks that his maman told him stories about the Mardi Gras parade she attended in 190x.

Lucifer narrows his eyes as Alastor disappears into the kitchen.

Once dinner's ready, Alastor is watching very very closely for Lucifer's reaction. And Lucifer is very very aware of Alastor watching him very very closely. No one else is really paying attention, they're too busy digging into their meals. Alastor and Lucifer make eye contact.

Then, finally, Lucifer takes a bite.

His eyes go wide.

He meets Alastor's eyes across the table.

He knows. And Alastor knows he knows. And Alastor also knows that he knows that Alastor knows he knows.

Alastor simply smiles, cocks his head to the side, and says, "So, is it as good as the jambalaya you had in 190x?"

Lucifer doesn't answer. He eats the rest of the meal in silence. No one else at the table has any clue what that was about.

Alastor vanishes pretty quickly after kitchen cleanup, but Lucifer spends the next few days trying to catch Alastor alone. It's tricky, given that Alastor keeps to himself a lot when he's not actively doing something for the hotel or participating in some mandatory group activity. As soon as he's not needed he vanishes into the shadows again. It takes a while before Lucifer finally gets his chance to talk to Alastor. It... doesn't go well.

"I was just satisfying some curiosity," Alastor tells him. "In truth, I could care less."

After all, it's not like knowing the identity of the man who walked out on him and his maman will do him any good now. If Lucifer wanted to have some kind of father-son bond, he should have been there a hundred years ago. And he doesn't care for an apology either. If Lucifer wants to apologize to someone, he should speak to Nicaise. She went in the other direction, by the way.

2025 preview opinions!

Kind of a “meh” batch of previews but it’s the first week so I was already expecting them to start off with some of the less exciting maps

Halloween’s Here: it’s a kids map so I can’t really judge it. It’s silly and colorful and cheesy like a kids map should be. I like the costumes, hate the song. Tainted Love remains the only valid Ubisoft song

Poker Face seated version: Hell yeah! I’d like it better if it wasn’t seated but seated maps are good so I’m not complaining. Lowkey wish they used this aesthetic for the main map instead. Im biased though because I LOVE the magician magic cards aesthetic. So much. Coach looks great, background looks great. Excited for everyone to overanalyze all the cards. Speaking of overanalyzing, the coach has every card suit on her outfit except for hearts. What does that mean? Uhhhh something

The Lion Sleeps Tonight: again, kids map. Yes, the lion looks scary. And also kind of badly animated? The way the mane moves is off. Kids map so I can’t really judge it too hard but it looks worse than most kids maps. I’ll probably play it once for completion’s sake and then never again

Party in the USA: Cute! A really good song to put in JD. My one complaint is I hate when they just make a bunch of identical copies of that coach in the background doing the same thing (they did that in Hollaback Girl and it drove me crazy). I’m not super obsessed with it, but I could see it being one of the ones I realize is super fun after I play it and then love

Loving On Me: I don’t really like it? It’s weird in the way a kids map is weird but the song is very much not a kids song? Like if it was any other song I’d think it was meant to be a kids map. I know the alien coaches are reused from some past map but the blue one scares me. Why are his fingers like that he looks like a doodlebop

Payphone: YESSS! God I love how much effort they put into the bride and Rasputin maps, it’s SO funny. And using Payphone for it? Does this count as camp? Idk but I love it. Wild that Rasputin’s bachelor party looks like it’s at Polo and Ruben’s apartment (ngl I don’t really like when they reuse backgrounds but I’ll let it slide this time cuz it’s funny). I do wish he was in his new outfit but again, it’s funny. Also I’m laughing at everyone saying this is gonna be the conclusion to their story. I am fully expecting them to give us no answers again and leave us on another cliffhanger.

I find pre-canon Kabru's Crew interactions rather intriguing. Kabru and Rin growing up in a household of orphans managed by one mildly freaky (if loving) ex-death squad commander. Holm In Elf Jail. Mickbell lowkey terrified of the kobold who would gnaw off a man's face for him and yet increasingly attached to because he's the one person he has in the world (having had a rough upbringing Mick is hesitant to call Kuro family... yet), and Kuro feeling protective even if their partnership seems odd.

YES!! Anon you get it. I'm glad we got some extra comics of Kabru and Milsiril but ngl I would have loved some more Rin backstory. I don't think Rin grew-up with Milsiril though, but maybe eventually she got moved into that house??? And also she practices Eastern Magic but how did she hone it?? Is she just an excellent self study (probably)?? I need to know more!!!!

No wonder Rin loves Kabru he was the only beacon of hope after being traumatized and then after just days of this....

Holm is wild I think the only real mistake that is so, SO tiny about the anime that I'm kind of miffed about but I really will get over is that they had him eat meat when he doesn't like to eat meat (and he doesn't drink) for religious reasons. But also it's such a tiny little detail that I can forgive them, I really can, it's very much such a tiny detail in this tiny little side character. But also when did he become religious was he always like "I gotta respect the spirits" or did he double down in the elf prison tenfold? Why is he studying ancient spirit magic?? I need to know more, but it is a mystery and will probably always be a mystery.

I love Mickbell and Kuro I talk about them often but I really think it's kind of wild that they both have the "Wow, I gotta look out for this guy, he seems like he could get into a lot of trouble, good thing I know more about the world than he does" thought going on with each other. Incredible. 10/10 dynamic. Love these two.

Also you didn't mention her but I think Daya is really interesting, it seems like she has a lot going on under the surface. But also like speaking of pre-canon excuse me, what do you mean the Shadow Lord of the island is her distant cousin and also introduced her and Kabru? Huh? I? I'm flabbergasted. I think it's neat that she's also one of the only characters in a canonical romantic relationship.

Kabru undoubtedly gets the most development of anyone of his party and rightfully so, and I just love his development in the manga and how he never really strays far from his strengths either. He never does a 180 on his personality, he just adapts (because he's good at that!!)

I know these guys are the most side characters of side characters, but still. I love Kabru's party!!!

all of sanemi's siblings love kanae, they always follow her around when she visits and draw her pictures (mostly flowers, sometimes they draw her with sanemi and she keeps all of those pictures hidden from him in a box under her bed so he won't be embarrassed)

(butterfly girls are still a thing, they're all shinobu's and kanae's adopted sisters) aoi and kanao actually knew sanemi before he and kanae got together because they've been friends with genya since elementary school and shinobu finally admits he might not be as horrible as she suspected when she sees aoi tackle him at the door and he doesn't even hesitate before picking her up and swinging her around

they were caught making out at a party by tengen and mitsuri and when sanemi went "if you tell anyone i'll kill you!" mitsuri immediately reassured him that ofc they wouldn't tell anyone. she then turns to tengen like "right uzui" and he's on his phone; "hang on i gotta send this to the group chat- what were you saying?"

sanemi's hesitant with buying flowers, jewelry, clothes or anything like that for kanae because of his colorblindness and mitsuri picks up on that (besties because i said so) and offers her help so from then on sanemi sends her pictures of things to doublecheck and sometimes she'll go shopping with him and help him pick out flowers

kanae likes to put small gifts in sanemi's locker in between periods when they're still in school so sometimes he'll find small baked goods or a cute sticker or something like that and you better believe he puts all of those stickers on his folders and books (obanai tries to bully him about it but sanemi can't be bothered)

kanae always patches sanemi up when he gets into a fight and makes sure he's okay but it's obvious that she's upset about it and sanemi's trying to hard to stop but it's really hard, then a particularly brutal fight lands him in the hospital and that's what gets him to finally open up to her about it and accept her help (it gets better after that)

kanae loves sanemi's scars and she likes to subtly kiss them when he's feeling kinda down to signalize that she loves all of him (he knows what she's doing but he never addresses it because it kinda works and also he doesn't want to destroy the illusion of being sneaky for her)

And the MOTORCYCLE YESSS!!! My man's definitely a biker- He'd get a super cool one with wind designs on it- always bringing an extra helmet (and a small one for the kiddos if he's picking up either his siblings or her siblings). He'd get her one with flowers and butterflies on it cause she's adorable and deserves it. They'd go on long drives at night, her arms around his chest and face against his back. He'd love every moment of it.

I like it being Jazz. He's a young king being gifted a serious peace offering after winning a war with Vos. Vos did not expect the creation of the kings they killed to stomp them but they got stomped. The aquarium is climate controlled so Prowl and spawn don't overheat. They would dry out quickly if they tried to escape and Prowl would be quite upset about that. It's a beautifully planted tank but definitely not so big for a mech sized fish. Some extra sadness. Prowl used to be able to sing and hear the song of his brethren back. In the desert, he's alone.

Wild Praxians feel bitty for their captive kin. Some have rescued captive Praxians. They are a liability though, they aren't fast so a lot of wild Praxians won't procreate with an escaped captive bred Praxian for fear of their creations inherited their fins.

Prowl has escaped before. He may be a wild born but captive bred mer.

Candela Obscura S2 - Thoughts So Far

i had the pleasure of seeing the premiere in theatres and it was PHENOMENAL. im gonna get right into it.

first off! you don’t necessarily have to watch the first season. i think you’ll have a bit of a better grasp on things and it’s also just fucking fantastic so i highly recommend. but no, you don’t have to in order to enjoy this campaign.

everyone embodies their characters so well. you can absolutely feel the love and detail put into them. you can feel them getting into their roles as the episode goes on and by the end, you’re completely attached.

it definitely starts off a lot quicker than season 1. we get right into the good stuff with a cold open directly to action. it starts off strong and ends with a bang.

HELL of a first episode, i’ll tell you that.

the vibe is definitely different from matthew mercer’s campaign. spenser has a unique GM style that took a minute to get used to. threwe off a bit at first, but i think it fits the narrative so far.

i pulled together an auggie cosplay just for the hell of it. did some makeup inspired by s1e3 and got dolled up in my best paperboy attire.

unfortunately i was literally the only one dressed up (+ my sibling in just general dark academia clothing). i also had to walk around a very busy store beforehand. so that was a bit awkward but honestly, i was so excited i didn’t care.

all in all, it was incredible. if you enjoyed the first season or are into any kind of body horror or thrillers, give it a try.

i cant wait to see more of their backstories. im super happy with the amount of backstory we got this episode. not too much or too little. just enough to be intriguing and get you invested, while still leaving some mystery.

starting the episode into immediate action was a bit off putting, ngl. i was startled by the pretty significant difference in how spenser is GMs in contrast to matt. i adore his play style but it took a second to get used to. as the episode progressed i could tell it was working really well for this campaign, which is pleasing.

im immediately drawn to sean and marion. i loved auggie and have a fixation on newsies so i obviously have a specific character type i enjoy LMAO. their personalities and interactions with everyone are fantastic.

the PTSD-flashback-type scenes were a great addition imo. it added a lot to their characters. plus that interaction when marion gets his scar? 100/10, gorgeous, tore me apart. i will be watching that scene again when it gets posted and that is a threat.

marion’s breakdown shattered my heart and the other party members had such interesting reactions. im hoping we have more moments like that sprinkled throughout.

of course i love everyone so far. auntie b’s complex history with each party member, nathaniel’s bits of family history, jean’s struggle beginning to shine through, sean’s internal battle with trauma / vague history, marion’s conflict with his own abilities… its all so good.

needless to say i think we’re going to be fed well this season.

my sibling was crying during a few parts but i only really teared up when jean said goodbye to her dad. i knew it was coming but damn it still tugged at my heartstrings.

that entire last scene was just so. GOOD. the entire theatre was losing their fucking minds. you could hear whispering, gasping, nervous giggling. jean’s gilded 6 was wild.

my favorite part of the night was probably when jean was investigating the body and pulled an eye from his heart. as spenser revealed what she found, a loud cough/hacking sound came from the back of the theatre.

you could tell it was probably just a coincidence but after a few seconds of silence people started to laugh. it was just a silly moment that made me really appreciate the atmosphere. as someone who rarely watches films in theatre (or at all tbh), it was a pleasant experience.

anyway i fucking LOVE co and have not stopped thinking about it since the last season ended. so i am very obviously hyped. cant wait to see whats next!

Hey Anon, and thank you for the compliment! Thanks for asking, get ready for a small essay because I love talking about DnD haha XD I'm throwing this behind a cut so I don't spoil anybody for CoS on accident.

We're on a little bit of a break while our DM does real life job things, but we recently hit level five and cleared Vallaki and the Feast of St. Andral and all that came after it, and we're about to head out to check on the Martikov's delayed wine shipment. Our DM is doing an amazing job fleshing the module out and we love to take our time with things, so we're definitely going pretty slow - the Feast was followed up by another fight that ended in almost every single key player in Vallaki dying (Fiona, the Baron, Victor, and Izek all went down in one big dramatic Shakespearean fight, it was a wild ride). There's a lot of questions still open about the town, like why are our buddies the ravens hanging around the Blue Water and what was with some of the stuff we found in the Reformation Center our DM fleshed out for us, but we're leaving our good friend Rictavio behind to do whatever business he needs to do and keep an eye on things in the meantime. He hasn't told us what his business is beyond "collecting stories" but we're pretty confident he's trying to built a circus in the woods. A totally normal circus. A very normal thing to do. Anyway, we are definitely currently in the process of trying to convince him to come with us when we finally depart the area.

On a totally unrelated note (jk very related), Van Richten is also easily my favorite at the moment and despite the fact that I love all the NPCs we've met so far, even the ones I hate, I don't expect that to change because one of my favorite character types is "salty sarcastic old man who screams at the sky and has A Lot Of Baggage" - plus the whole aesthetic is just A+. This old man really rolled into Barovia saying "time to fuck around and find out" with those shoes and those sideburns, a vibe which is amplified by the fact that our RvR has not disguised himself beyond possibly changing a few facial features and the kinds of clothes he's wearing (we still haven't seen him without the hat on, but my boy Vrinn has Eldritch Sight as an invocation and has narrowed down the general categories and whatever disguise he has on is subtle). The party at large has yet to meet him properly, but Vrinn ,who was immediately obsessed with the old man, managed to get his hands on a copy of Van Richten's Guide and rolled a nat 20 to notice some similarities between the writer and wonderful not-a-big-deal-don't-worry-about-me-I'm-normal Rictavio.

So that's where we're at. Our DM has changed a bunch (for example, he let Vasili be a real Vasili and not a Strahd disguise which added a lot of depth and a really really really REALLY intense dinner where we assumed we were with a man who might be Strahd even though Vrinn has Eldritch Sight and Divine Sense and has used it multiple times and detected nothing, only to have him use both of those while sitting next to Vasili at dinner for a totally unrelated reason because I thought there might be an imp and realize oh fuck they're two different people and I'm five feet away from THE DEVIL disguised as Vasili and have to ACT NORMAL, truly one wild session) and so there's a lot happening that probably doesn't compare super well to other campaigns. I'm currently working on 1 or 2 more poster-style illustrations for our little stint in Vallaki, and possibly some small comics, but it's slow going!

feeling like the tpk might’ve been set in stone only after a bunch of them got downed? like it’s easier to reset a whole party rather than four out of six awkwardly and having to accommodate for weird old/new clashing

because i still feel like the whole extraction was doable. the table had six (6) passive perception. if murph hadn’t rolled a two and failed, i think team extraction with the hex could’ve done some real shit out there. rosamund hit the FGM once (1) for 12 damage and brennan was like ‘she can’t take much more of those, haha!’ FGM also had no strength mod or proficiency, and it seemed like she was out of spells pretty quick? like the intrepid heroes have pulled off much crazier shit. they all just reverted to FHFY brain and started splitting up and hopping tho </3

idk. i don’t think the tpk was planned from the start bc even for camera actual play, rolling six pc death saves can get boring! and the nat 20 pop back up was very VERY possible - 3-6 rolls from each pc when a nat 20 is a 5% chance makes it way more likely. if someone hit that number we’d be in a totally different boat right now. i feel like the tpk was a safety net he laid out for level one combat (what a wild thing to type), but he was very welcoming of any other outcome. mule ex machina was very fun and i wish alphonse’s gambit worked ngl

also the whole thing of ‘it takes all six of you to do this job’ or however it was said last episode. something something connected fate lines if one dies the world revolts or something? fully spitballing now but the ‘straying together’ also feels important in this context. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and that’s all on rambles with mimi folks i just had to get my thoughts out of my head!
