Revelations
𓂅 𓄹 Summary: Miguel asked you to keep a secret, so naturally everyone is about to find out.
𓂅 𓄹 Pairing: Miguel O’Hara x spider-woman!reader
No warnings! Just a humorous drunk!reader drabble :)
“How much did she have to drink?”
“Maybe three beers?”
“Oh, she’s out of it.”
“How so?”
“She’s been tellin’ everyone she has a boyfriend.”
Jessica Drew’s eyebrows shot up. “Who?”
Hobie merely shrugged.
You threw them a death glare before trying to negotiate with Peter Parker for another bottle, but all to no avail.
“Please! Give me another one,” you whined, sitting down with a thump on the chair oposite to his. “I’m not drunk!”
“How many fingers am I holding up, then?”
You shove his hand away. “Seven… don’t be silly!”
He banged his hand on the table. “See? You have zero tolerance.”
“You have seven fingers on that hand, Jerry!”
“Who’s Jerry?”
You gasped loudly at the sight of Gwen sitting to your right. “When did you get here?”
“What? I was here the whole time.”
Peter cleared his throat. “Gwen, take a good look at her,” he mustered a serious voice. “You don’t want this to happen when you grow up.”
You leant back in your seat with a sigh of frustration. “I want Miguel.”
“Miguel… O’Hara?”
“Gwen, she’s drunk,” you heard Peter whispering.
“Hey! What did we miss?”
Miles and Pavitr nade their way through the busy crowd of fellow spiders, each holding a glass of apple juice.
“Took you some time!” Peter beamed with a wife smile, scooting to the side so they could join the group at the table. “Nice job, kids. The mission was a success.”
“Miguel seemed unimpressed,” Miles grumbled into the heel of his hand.
Peter hid a bottle away before you could snatch it from him, earning a grunt. “I’m sure he’s delighted!”
“Yeah? That’s his delighted face? Looked like someone had just threatened to break canon.”
Pavitr patted his back. “That’s just his regular face, Miles.”
“But he’s really hot…” you said dreamily with an ear-to-ear smile, leaning into Hobie’s shoulder.
Multiple pairs of eyes blinked at you.
Pavitr spoke first. “Miguel?”
Both Miles and Gwen were looking at you like you’d grown a third arm.
“Maybe we should get him here?” You heard Jess saying from behind you. “And you,” her hands gripped both your shoulders to straighten you up in your seat. “You need to sober up.”
You stuck out your tongue as the other spider-woman brought her travel watch to eye-level.
“Lyla, I’m guessing Miguel doesn’t want to come, but—”
The AI cut Jess off with a cheeky smile. “He’s on his way, actually.”
“Miguel is coming?” Peter beamed, unable to contain his excitement.
“Great!” You clapped your hands a couple of times, eager to see him.
Hobie took a sip of his drink. “Bet he’s gonna ruin the vibe.”
Miles nodded right away.
You were about to protest when a chorus of greetings from diverse spiders echoed throughout the bar.
“Evening, boss.”
“Miguel! Great to see you here tonight.”
“Howdy, boss.”
“Meow!”
He was here and once he came into your field of vision — albeit slightly blurred — you felt your heart flutter.
“Look who decided to come out of his cave,” Jess said, her lips quirking up into a smile.
“Miguel!” Peter punched his bicep playfully.
You were waving your hands enthusiastically at him. “Hiiiiii!”
But Miguel wasn’t amused.
His eyes roamed across the table.
“Who brought the beer?”
Everyone immediately pointed at Peter — you included — who was already smiling sheepishly while raising both hands in defense.
“Miguel, we’re just celebrating a successful mission and—”
“Peter, how many times must I tell you not to bring that stuff here?”
“She only had a couple of beers,” Peter replied. “It’s not that strong. I don’t thin—”
“That’s your problem! You never think,” he replied, jabbing a finger at bim.
You giggled. Miguel looked extra hot when he was pissed off. Poor Peter, though.
“Up you go,” Hobie said, hoisting you from your seat, trying his best to keep your balance. “Mind your feet.”
“Wait where are we going?”
“You need to get some fresh air,” he said, helping your arm around his neck for support. “Mr. Grumpy here is about to ruin the mood, I reckon.”
You didn’t want to leave, but figured Hobie was right. He was always right.
“Where are you going?” You heard a voice call out once you’d turned your back.
You twirled on your feet nearly tripping and knocking Hobie down in the process.
“Wait… why are there two of you?” You hiccuped.
Both Miguels arched an eyebrow simultaneously. Impeccable synchronisation. “Two of… what?”
You reached out with your hand to touch one of them but it met with nothing but air.
Huh?
“We were goin’ out for some air.”
You shook your head and the two spider-man 2099 had finally merged into one.
You fluttered your eyelashes dramatically at him. “The just one last beer… pleeeeease…”
“I really can’t do that.”
“But you can do me!” you blurted out with a wink.
Miguel pursed his lips.
Chaos immediately erupted from the bar table, causing some of the spiders nearby to shift their attention to the commotion.
“Language! There’s kids here!” Peter said, trying to cover Gwen’s ears.
“We are not kids!”
Jessica clicked her tongue. “No more drinks for you, young lady.”
“—you are still kids at heart!” Peter was now dealing three very grumpy young spiders.
Hobie, however, saluted you with a proud smile on his face. “You just left Miguel O’Hara speechless. Respect.”
You giggled at Miguel who was definitely not amused. At all.
Before your brain could process what was happening, your body was being hauled from the ground and tossed over someone’s shoulder.
“Time to go home.”
“PUT ME DOWN!” you protested, balling your fists and smashing them against a very hardened surface. “MY BOYFRIEND IS GOING TO DEAL WITH YOU!”
You felt your stomach lurch violently from the motion and decided to tap your webshooters in an attention to free yourself.
The result was…
“HEY! Get-get this off me!”
“I’m sorry, Pavitr!”
Your blob of web had landed on his face, sending the young spider into a frenzy as both Miles and Gwen hurried to aid him.
“Who’s the bloke, hm?” Hobie asked with a grin.
“It’s classified!”
The spider-punk scoffed. “Is that code word for ‘capitalist knobhead’?”
“Funny, ‘cause when I first met Miguel he—” Gwen started.
But was promptly cut off. “Lyla, deactive her webshooters before someone loses an eye.”
“On it, boss!”
You growled in annoyance as an orange beam hit your wrists, rendering the devices uselss. It didn’t take long before you were being dragged out of the bar, multiple spiders glaring you and whispering to each other.
“We can take her home,” Jessica offered, patting the top of your head endearingly. “It’s close by.”
“No, I’ll do it.”
Hobie seemed visibly amused. “Maybe we should wait for her boyfriend to get here.”
The big man carrying you halted his steps.
“What?”
You blinked a few times as you saw the pavement start to tilt and go into a swirl. “I’m going to fall!”
A strong arm came to wrap around your waist, keeping your firmly in place.
That was close.
“Yeah she’s been sayin’ her boyfriend’s gonna be here,” Hobie shrugged.
“She’s had too much to drink,” Peter said dismissively.
“And he is!” you snapped. “See, he’s very strong, Jerry.”
“Really?”
“He’s the strongest spider-man,” you smiled, pride evident in your voice. “Very handsome…”
The spiders in front of you exhanged confused looks and as the motion resumed, your insides flipped momentarily.
“He’s really big, too…”
Jess spoke this time. “Big? As in… tall?”
You nodded. “Right! But also… his dic—”
“Enough!”
“Bloody hell…”
“Woah!” Jess gasped.
Miles, Pavitr, and Gwen, on the other hand, were having the time of their lives.
“Miguel’s face!” Gwen chuckled as Miles leaned on her shoulder fighting back the tears.
Oh. Right.
Miguel was the one carrying you…
Peter was absolutely scandalised, urging them back inside. “Let’s finish our apple juice,” Peter called, ruffling Pavitr’s hair. “I have these amazing photos of Mayday to show!”
None of the budged, though, enjoying the show.
“Real shame your boyfriend isn’t here to witness this,” Hobie said.
You grinned. “But he is! Right here!” you accentuated each word with a pat between Miguel’s shoulderblades.
“Ah, knew she was talking gibberish,” Hobie clicked his tongue.
Jess came to take a look at Miguel’s face. “I… don’t think she is.”
“Well! What a fun night,” Peter said in his usual cheerful voice.
“Wait… WHAT?!” Gwen and Pavitr half-yelled in unison.
Miguel let out growl. “Go back inside. We’ll talk about the next mission tomorrow.”
“But—”
He turned to face them, which had you clamp one hand on your mouth from the turbulence.
All three of them rushed back inside with Peter following closely behind.
“No wonder you showed up for once,” Jess said adjusting her glasses.
“Please… don’t start,” Miguel sighed. “Especially you.”
Hobie adjusted a couple of pins on his vest. “Chill, bro.”
“Say bye-bye,” Miguel said, tapping the back of your thighs.
You waved your hand clumsily at them. “Byeeee!”
Both of them returned the gesture, chuckling.
In no time, you felt yourself being hurled into the night sky across the tall buildings that covered the landscape of Nueva York.
The cool air and silence allowed the realisation to suddenly dawn on you as Miguel carried you effortlessly with each swing of his web, red glow flashing around you.
Fuck…
“They all know, don’t they…” you mumbled into his embrace when he made a quick stop at a rooftop.
“Yes.”
“Sorry, Miguel…” you hiccuped.
He pressed a soft kiss to your temple. “It was only a matter of time, I suppose.”
You curled up against him, cheek resting on his shoulder as he heaved a deep sigh and ran one hand along your back in a loving caress.
He had wanted it to be a secret mostly because he feared others might see it as a liability. After all, as long as he put up a front that he had nothing to lose, then it would be a great asset to have in this line of work.
Or so he thought.
Feeling the pounding headache brewing inside your head, you merely groaned into the crook of his neck.

Arachnid Anxiety
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're Spider-Woman, and you've been tasked with babysitting Mayday. Maybe you have a bit of stress that you need to vent about, and Hobie comes along quite conveniently for that purpose.
Genre: Fluff, reader having anxiety, Hobie giving her advice, very cute, reader is a Jessica Drew variant, perhaps mutual pining if you squint, takes place during the movie but before Miles arrives to the Society, terrible british slang attempts (sorry Hobie :'))
Word Count: 2.4k
Tumblr media
Babies are hard to wrangle when they’re crawling up walls.
Of course, Peter B. Parker said that he needs a nap, just this once, and he needs someone to watch over Mayday while he sneaks away into the sleeping pods in the Spider-Society-System. Sometimes he and MJ don’t get sleep for days at a time, so you get it.
But Mayday is so curious, and you find yourself having to pull her prying hands away before she inadvertently tampers with things around Miguel’s labs and causes either a mass outage or a explosion or Miguel’s wrath. You understand why Peter is a little exhausted.
She’s a very cute baby, though, and you can’t help but coo at her as she clambers off the wall into your arms.
“Who’s a good Spidey? Who’s gonna be the best of us?” You shake her up and down and she giggles, wrapping her arms around you.
You instinctively flinch, feeling your Spider-Sense go off.
“Large statement to make. But I see where you’re coming from.” Spider-Punk comes up from behind you, and you turn to him. “She’s definitely punk.”
“Hey, don’t go claiming someone else’s kid as one of your own.” You joke, and Hobie scowls as he pulls off his mask.
“Don’t believe in claims. Or labels, for that matter.” He scratches his hair, looking effortless as he ever does, and you roll your eyes. “She is… who she is. Forgive me for using a descriptive word, Spider-Woman.”
“I get it.” You hold Mayday as she squeals at the sight of Hobie, and she motions in an uppy-uppy motion. She wants to be held by him, but he ignores her.
You never quite know how to feel about Hobie Brown. The Amazing Spider-Punk is revolutionary, known for being better than just his words– he holds himself to the very essence of anarchy. He practices what he preaches.
But you can’t quite get a read on the guy. You don’t know if he’s pulling your leg– or taking the piss as he would say– when he gives his bouts of advice while somehow simply being amazing through it all. He somehow knows what to say but he also isn’t the most comforting, and that in itself makes you drawn to him. He just happens to be kind of rough around the edges, and it’s because of that you know he truly means what he says.
No sugar-coating, ever.
But you hate yourself, because you’ve somehow managed to fall for him.
It’s not uncommon for Spideys to fall for each other. Peter Parker and Cindy Moon, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy. But you know this is the one time it just wouldn’t end well for you.
You can already hear Hobie’s comments if he ever found out. He’d probably rebuke you even though you’d never try anything. Tell you he doesn’t feel that way and you’re delusional for potentially thinking that he would ever tie himself down. Spiders are meant to be swinging free and all that.
Even worse, he just happens to be beautiful. You’re positive that if Hobie wasn’t so anti-everything he would have stuck with being a runway model. His face is molded in a distinctive way that has you trying to catch his glance, even if he only looks at you with nonchalance, completely unbothered, not a hint of chemistry in his eyes.
It is with great displeasure that you find yourself wanting his bored attention anyways.
And so you’ve been swallowing your crush for the greater part of a year now. You’re sure it will pass like all things do.
Pavitr, as much as you love him, has told you many times about the “chemistry” between you and Hobie– and you have told him every time to fuck off. Not in an actual harsh way, because again you can’t help but love the guy, but because you don’t need false hope.
You’re just Spider-Woman. Another red-and-yellow suited variant of Jessica Drew, you might as well just be another Peter Parker. You know that’s not how you’re supposed to think of yourself, but it’s just how it is. Canon events brought you here, and according to Miguel, it’s not something you chose– you just happened to be there at the right time and place. You’re no Jess, who comes in on her motorcycle, raging heat and excitement on her toes– you are one of the many, instead of being exceptional like the few.
You’re not like Hobie, who is as far as you know, one of a kind.
“What’s on your mind, Spider-Woman?” Hobie asks as he picks through random tech on the desk in Miguel’s lab, taking what he feels is useful for whatever it is he does with the stuff. He’s never used your name, because he doesn’t know it.
You and a few other Spider-People have chosen to stay anonymous, for different reasons, and only Miguel and Margo know who you really are. Hobie has told you before that that’s pretty cool– he only chose to give up his name because it was easier to get along with people that way. Hobie knows there’s power in people.
“Just babysitting. Obviously.” You motion to Mayday, who takes this moment to thwip out a web and swing away from you– but you’re faster and you grab her back into your arms, and she pouts.
“Nah, nah. I mean that sour expression upon your lovely little visage, imbecile.” He pokes your masked cheek, and you find yourself blushing but pulling away from him. Hobie is like that– overly familiar and no real sense of space because he doesn’t care.
“It’s not lovely.” You retort, fully convinced of it because he has never seen your face, only your incredulous expression through the eyes of your mask.
You think that Hobie is again being sarcastic about your unknown appearance, and because his back is facing yours as he searches through random shelves now, you don’t catch how his face frowns at your response.
“Disagreements about your anonymous-but-surely beautiful face aside– not that looks matter, mind you– you’re clearly miffed about something.” Hobie turns and crosses his arms, and it’s with a little embarrassment and comfort that you want his advice. Even if it’s kind of to do with him.
“Well, I guess, uh… lately I’ve just been feeling kind of down. Like what’s the point of all this?” You bite your lip, knowing Hobie’s feelings on nihilism. “I don’t mean like nothing in life matters, Hobie. I mean more that I don’t matt– I don’t… anyways, I feel useless. I don’t have anything special about me, I don’t really bring anything to the Spider-Society that wasn’t already brought.”
"Whoa whoa whoa. Nah, lady, you've got your priorities all twisted." Hobie pulls your arms, bringing you kind of closer to him, and rests his hands on your shoulders, making you listen. "This inner hatred stuff– that sick urge to feel shame and then blast it inside of yourself, all that repression, yeah? It's a crock of shit."
"Huh?" You and Mayday both peer up at him. You behind your mask, and she with her crocheted one.
Hobie picks up Mayday, finally giving into her wishes to be held by him, and she immediately giggles. There’s a subtle smile on his face that warms him to you a little.
"It might feel good in the moment. It might even feel revolutionary." Hobie scowls, and scratches his jaw. "It's worthless. Notice, Spider, I didn't call you worthless. The very action is garbage, a visceral thing that brings no productive value– that's what they want you to feel."
"Ah, because then I'll never fight against the establishment, right, Hobie? I'll be too busy fighting myself." You say mockingly, taking on a fake-pretentious-Cockney accent, mimicking him, but Hobie gives you a chill look and nods.
"Now you're getting it."
"Aw." You slump and slouch and sit on the counter full of gadgets and gizmos next to him. "I know you're right, but… don't you ever get people getting mad at you?"
"You've lost me."
"Like… being so responsible." You roll your eyes as Hobie snickers and whispers the spider-mantra you all know so well. "Or just living by your own ideology so… efficiently. It's almost like a slap in the face to the rest of us Spiders. We don’t know how to cope, and here comes along Spider-Punk with all his personal assurance that even if things aren't alright, he'll make it alright for himself."
"Oi, trust me, it wasn't all that easy." Hobie sniffs and sits down next to you, holding Mayday close and then letting her go as she crawls onto the wall in front of you. "You really think I haven't had a bad day? I haven’t had my moments of self doubt, huh?”
“Uh… well. When you put it like that, it does sound kind of crazy.” You admit, and nudge him with your shoulder. “I didn’t mean any harm, Hobie. I just feel so… inadequate.”
“Just stop.” He crosses his arms and closes his eyes, and you feel that yet again, he’s somewhat unreadable. “Don’t think those things. You’re not inadequate.”
“But I–”
“Stop.” He grasps your hands, and squeezes them tightly in his own, and you wonder if Hobie has ever looked this seriously at you, his eyes soft yet firm with affection.
You’re in trouble, you think. Your heart is pounding and you’re really glad he can’t see your face.
“I don’t think you know how important you are.” He utters so quietly, in that very deep voice that has you leaning in to hear him better. “You’re not nothing, Spider-Woman. You’ve done a lot of good for your Earth-257, I’m sure, and that makes you something special. Like the rest of us– you’re kind of irreplaceable, right?”
“I guess.”
“Not ‘I guess.’” Hobie punches the side of your arm and you pretend to say ow, laughing a little. “If you didn’t exist, we’d all be poorer for it. Peter couldn’t ask you to chill with his baby, and I couldn’t be here talking your ear off.”
“But I’m not– I don’t really compare to her, you know?” You say without thinking, and then immediately squint at your own stupidity.
“Who’s her?” Hobie is wary of how your expression is shifting. “Stacy?”
“Uh, no.” You inhale, exhale, and then decide it’s time to get it over with. “Jess.”
“Jess? Jessica Drew, huh?” Hobie smirks a little. “You don’t want to be adopted by her, do you?”
“More complicated than Gwen’s weird fantasy.” You shift on your spot on the counter, and pull off your mask after a minute of tribulations. “I’m… also Jessica Drew.”
You feel incredibly shy as Hobie takes in your face, wary of his every move as you feel yourself sweating, and he grasps your face gently, peering into your eyes and taking a look at your features, as if he’s really trying to remember them.
“Huh.”
“What is it?” You say a little too defensively, and he shrugs.
“You do have a lovely visage, you silly little sod. Even if it’s completely different from Jess’ face.” He laughs as you shove him away, covering your face in your hands. “No, don’t do that.”
He’s tracing your jaw, and he murmurs. “Maybe you could use a few piercings… a tat or two… ever thought about it?”
“No.” You shut your eyes. “I’m not cool like you.”
“Oh, shut it.” He leans in imperceptibly closer, and you blink, eyes open. Maybe Pavitr had a point that Hobie and you have something, because there’s not really another explanation for that look in his eyes. “You’re plenty cool, Jessica Drew. It was just a shit suggestion of mine.”
You think Hobart “Hobie” Brown is sweeter than you previously thought. You have half a mind to tell him about your feelings.
You and Hobie both look up, Spider-Senses tingling, and sure enough, Mayday is cooing from the ceiling– she leaps into your already waiting arms. She giggles at your expression.
Oh well, you think. There’ll be some other time to work up the courage to tell him.
Hobie half-smirks at her. “Way to interrupt us, Mayday.”
She looks at him all confused, tilting her head in a “huh?” motion, and you feel the same way, not entirely sure what Hobie meant by that and not willing to assume either.
He answers you by pulling your face in a sudden, swift motion, connecting his lips to yours, and in between the two of you, Mayday shrieks and laughs. She crawls off to the side of you, no longer smothered between your torsos.
Hobie is weirdly insistent– you feel like he’s been wanting to do this for a while, maybe longer than the length of your conversation (you don’t know if this is just a funny little fling for him, but you’re fairly sure it isn’t) and he’s a lot taller and lankier than you, so he really has to tower over you to reach your mouth better. He’s grasping your jaw and neck and the back of your head with a lot of intensity– you feel wildly dizzy when he pulls away.
“Uh.” Peter B. Parker is standing in front of you both, mouth wide open, and you look back at Hobie and he grins rather coolly, not really giving a damn. It’s enough to make you snort. “Wait, who are you?”
“Oh. Spider-Woman from Earth 257.” You remember Peter has never seen your face, either. “Jessica Drew?”
“Right, right.” Peter raises his hands in a whoop-de-doo motion, like he should’ve known that. “Nice to know what you look like behind the mask. Not nice to know that you’ve been avoiding your babysitting duties. Why are you two fooling around like prepubescent children? What happened to responsibility?”
“Ahhhhh, please, Peter. Live a little.” Hobie stands up, his full length of height drawing him to about the same height as Peter if not an inch taller. He picks up Mayday and hands her off to him. “Let’s not act as if you and MJ weren’t shacking up in the sleeping pods last week, yeah? Does Miguel need to know about how irresponsible you were?”
You think he’s kidding, but Peter pales and you clap your hands over your mouth, trying not to laugh. Miguel would absolutely throw a fit if he found that out.
“Uh…” Peter swallows. “At least that’s not an interdimensional tragedy-in-the-making like you two.”
“There’s no rules against that, I don’t think.” Hobie shrugs. “And if there are, fuck them. Miguel doesn’t know it all.”
“He really is punk to the very end.” Peter groans and leaves out to the hallway with Mayday.
Hobie flashes a smile at you as he sits back down, ruffling your hair.

Would they love you as a worm?
And how would they react?
(Platonic!)
Gn!reader
Some of these are short and I’m sorry for that, wrote this at 1:am and I didn’t rlly feel like adding or fixing anything ☹️
Warnings: Slight atsv spoilers!!!, really bad British slang(someone please help), idk if the terms I used for hobie are actual British slang or not….nor do I know how to spell them if they are☹️
Tumblr media
Earth-1610!Miles Morales- Definitely(but he Misses human you)
🕷️miles would ABSOLUTELY love you as a worm.
🕷️somehow someway you turn into a worm and miles is so protective.
🕷️I’m talkin’ like dude would keep you so safe, with a little terrarium filled with fresh soil and plants.
🕷️feel like he would also spend nights talkin’ to you and just spilling his problems out.
🕷️one time he got scared that his mom threw you out but she had just moved you…yea he almost had a heart attack
——
“Mom, where’s my little jar I had on my window?”
“Oh uhm….I honestly don’t remember where I put it..”
“…”
“Miles?”
And he’s already gone to look for you around the house.
It took him a hour but he finally found you…in a cabinet.
That night he spent singing sunflower to you
——
Tumblr media
Earth-42!Miles Morales- Kinda(he had to think about it)
⛓️ miles would have to warm up to you.
⛓️like 1610 miles, you somehow turn into a worm.
⛓️at first he thinks it’s a joke…but as time moves on he realizes you’re a worm.
⛓️he definitely would keep you safe though.
⛓️like he would keep you fed and made sure you didn’t dry out.
⛓️but like he doesn’t do the whole talk thing.
⛓️the only time he talks to you is when he’s checking on you(like twice a day)
⛓️he definitely hides you from his uncle.
⛓️he’s not ashamed he just doesn’t want to explain how you became a worm because even he doesn’t know.
⛓️though if Aaron ever found out I think he would just stare at miles and walk away.
——
“Yo miles, cmon man we gotta do a ru-”

the lobby was crowded. like always. spider people here, there, everywhere. floor to ceiling as they traversed to their different destinations whether that be another dimension to fix anomalies or just the food court to get some lunch.
your headphones covered your ears to keep the loud conversations at bay as you mind your business. nothing to do, just tapping finger to finger in random patterns as you observed everyone with your background music. with your eyes landing near the entrance of the building you saw gwen and hobie, along with someone you’d never met before but excited for the new face. literally new face.
“gwen! hobie!” you shouted after pushing the bulky headphones down to your neck before rushing towards them. they waved you close to them, gwen with a friendly smile and hobie with his watchful eyes but only filled with kindness.
you stopped before the three of them and gave the two of them quick hugs before they could make any objections. attention now on the new person. his was tall and lean and looked a few years younger than you. black kid with curly hair and wandering dark eyes.
“hi, i’m y/n l/n. or spidey or spider, if you want. but best to use my name since we’re all spiders.” mouth moving on its own. “sorry. just haven’t seen a new face or person in a little bit. no offense to the peter’s,” you leaned closer to his face and he leaned away slightly from the intrusion, “but there are too many of him. and a lot of them sound closely the same.”
“don’t let peter hear that.” gwen joke. she gave a quick nudge to her quiet friend. “this is miles morales.”
“h-hi. yeah, i’m miles. nice to meet you, this place is just… wow.” head turning in all directions to get the full scope.
“yeah, kinda crazy. but miguel worked hard to make all this happen for us. kinda nice to physically see you're not alone in the fight.”
“speaking of-“ gwen got cut off by miles glitching out and dropping to the floor in pain. you knelt with him and touched his shoulder. “he doesn’t have a watch?” frantic as you check his wrist for the bulky device but not finding it. gwen bit her lip but avoided eye contact and looked at someone behind you.
“here,” you heard the motherly voice of jessica drew, “day pass.” and saw how miles caught the flimsy band before slipping it on.
“why don’t we get some food?” trying to break the sudden tension jessica brought with her. but before anyone could agree or disagree with your idea, she spoke up. “actually the three…” her eyes lingered on you and the touch of your hand to miles’s shoulder, “the four of you need to see miguel. it’s urgent.”
you didn’t like that. you don’t like it whenever miguel calls for you and it’s not for a job. you tried making an excuse, “actually, i should get-“ “don’t lie your way out, y/n. just follow the rules.” jessica commanded.
she started to walk away, then gwen and hobie followed after her. “hey,” miles tried to make eye contact. you felt like shrinking into yourself. “don’t worry. i’m sure it’ll be fine.”
you knew it wasn’t but didn’t bother. a weary smile, “why don’t we stop by the food court?” fingers circling his wrist as you tugged him along. “miguel loves the empanadas and it wouldn’t hurt to keep him on the nice side.” miles happily agreed.
-
the walk to miguel’s ‘office’ was always dark and quiet. too quiet, the sound of just your breathing and footsteps sounding like blaring sirens that bounced off the walls. you hated the walk. instinctively you wore your headphones over your ears and played something, but at a low volume to still hear miles and hobie converse. gwen led your group, her back the only thing you saw as she didn’t bother with facing any of you. she felt closed off.
you eyed hobie as he nicked bits and pieces from walls, tables, and junk. you didn’t stop him like miles was trying, just watching with pure curiosity, wondering what he was up to. always doing something to rebel.
miles turned to you and you saw his mouth moving, but only faintly heard his words. pausing the music and moving the device back to your neck you asked him to repeat his sentence.
“so, how does one get recruited for this spider society?” he held the to-go box in both hands. his thumbs rubbing at the top in a nervous sort of gesture.
“i- i don’t think you’d like it very much.” not wanting miles to be stuck like the rest of you. “catching anomalies is very annoying. and very busy. wouldn’t you like to stay in your dimension? with your friends and family?” voice going soft and melancholy. fingers toying with the device at your wrist.
you didn’t notice how miles eyes softened from your tone or how gwen looked fully over her shoulder towards you, knowing the true meaning of your words. and hobie continued to knick bits.
“well…” miles tried to restart the conversation, “i mean. at least with the watch, i can visit my friends. i can hang out with you more.” a playful nudge to your arm pulled a smile. a new friend, you liked the thought.
“why not just make your own watch?” hobie commented. he broke something off a defective project and stuffed it into his vest pocket. “you look smart enough to build from scraps.” he kicked his thick boots at objects in his path.
“i wanna do this by the rules. by the books.” he shrugged his shoulders. face looking just a bit glum.
“are either of your parents' cops?” a simple question you posed.
he looked confused but still answered, “my dad. gonna be captain soon.” he smiled down at the ground. he must be very proud of his family.
now you nudge his shoulder, “well, i bet your dad is proud of you. knowing or not knowing. but sometimes, you shouldn’t play by the book.” a hushed whisper.
“aye, y/n!” hobie slapped his hands on your shoulders, “that’s what i like to hear! screw the system. do what you need to do, my guy.”
“guys!” gwen raised her voice, “please can we just-“ she trailed her sentence off with a tilt of her head. the four of you were getting closer.
“miles, just remember,” hobie leaned towards miles, “don’t join the establishment until you know what you’re fighting for.”
the hallway widened out and when you looked up, miguel had his back turned as he stood on his platform. miles looked to gwen and she held a hand up, “yeah. i know, but it’s his thing. so just…” and she trailed off again.
gwen and miles walked further into the light as you and hobie stayed near the dark. hobie situated himself along the wall, fingers playing with whatever he got his hands on. you leaned beside him with your arms crossed over your chest and hip cocked. just from this show alone, you know miles is in for a miguel tantrum.
“how’s it been?” eyes on hobie, “um… okay.” you picked at the nylon of your suit, “sometimes if i’m bored, i go to other places. they let me as long as i don’t cause trouble. sorry i haven’t visited recently.” a twist to your lips.
hobie waved you off, “ain’t a problem. pop by whenever. gwendys around most times.”
your heads turned when miguel raised his voice and threw the food box to the ground. you pushed away from the wall and walked closer to the light.
“what’d i do?” “miguel. it’s not his fault.” miles and gwen’s voices mixed. you heard a thwip and turned to see hobie stealing the free food.
“he’s screwed everything up! just like doctor strange and that little nerd from earth-1999999.” miguel pinched his nose bridge.
“i visited there once. interesting place.” miles seemed to be the only one intrigued by your story. “they have this group called the avengers.” eyes widening at the word.
“are they like a band?” miles cocked his head. “no earth’s mightiest-“
“who the hell cares!”
you flinched at the boom of miguel’s voice and slinked back into the dark shadows by hobie. automatically he threw an arm over your shoulder and pulled you to his side.
“someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” he muttered. you wanted to comment but felt if you even made a peep miguel would be on your ass. hobie, always the kind friend, noticed your silence and slipped your headphones back on. you didn’t need music at the moment just something to muffle the noise.
eyes watched how miguel and miles spoke. their bodies tense, miguel using his looming height advantage to have more authority. mile's lanky arms fling about and look from gwen to miguel. with your headphones, you couldn’t hear, but you saw how miles turned around and his face was graced with a smile as he ran to someone.
“oh great. humbling reality spider-man has joined.” hobie’s words muffled before you made your ears free again.
you saw peter parker, peter b parker, as he liked to be called. he and miles shared a hug and you started to look at the walls and ceilings.
“why do you have a baby carrier?” miles pointed at the carrier peter always wore.
“mayday!” you squeal when you see her crawling your way. the two of you were well acquainted since you’ll babysit for peter and mj on short notice. or whenever really, they were such a kind family.
the little bundle of joy yipped when you crouched to her level and pulled her to your chest. her tiny hands setting on your shoulders as her blue and green eyes darted over your face. a gloved hand smoothed some of her flyaways and wind-swept hair.
“you have a baby!” you heard miles. “i have a baby! yeah, it’s crazy kid.” peter sighed.
“how’s my favorite web crawler? huh? causing trouble for your dad?” cooing in a baby voice. pretending she could understand every word and would reply in detail about the chaos she brings. you pinched at her chubby cheeks.
“can we get back to business? serious business?” miguel always brings the mood down.
“you are the only serious spider person. we’re supposed to be funny. throwing quips as we punch bad guys.” peter grumbled and made a mocking tone of miguel. he looked about ready to send everyone away.
“lyla, do the thing.” the computer teased miguel for a moment before doing the thing he asked. she pulled up the web of life and destiny.
“it’s called something very scientific, but i like to just call it the spider web. short and simple.” a side comment to miles. “cool.”
“these are canon events. things that can’t change no matter what or the universe collapses.” getting bit by the spider. uncle ben dying or someone close to you. a captain saving a kid but getting killed in the process.
miguel showed different versions of spider-man in those different scenarios. he specifically showed the spiders mourning the death of captain stacy.
you pressed mayday’s head into your shoulder, not wanting her to see this. you turned to gwen and saw her poker face, but you could see the emotion swimming in her irises. she hadn’t been back to her dimension in a while, always crashing in different spots.
“miles,” you looked away as you bounced the child, “what you did back in pavitr’s reality, it broke canon. that’s what caused the black hole and hopefully, we can stop it. but it doesn’t always happen.”
you felt eyes on you. you didn’t like the sudden attention. but you were starting to get why jessica brought you here. why miguel pointed a finger at you to miles confusion. he wanted you to be on his side.
“y/n… do you want to tell miles what happened?” you ignored him. playing with mayday, knuckles caressing her rosy cheeks. “y/n… the kid needs to understand the importance.” you sighed and pressed a kiss to mayday’s temple.
“understand what?” miles walked closer to you. “y/n? what happened?”
you licked your lips. “my reality is gone. i… i got to love my gwen stacy. i didn’t lose any family or a captain who i was bickering friends with. i- i got to have it all. i ‘broke’ canon, but i don’t believe that crap.”
“y/n…” miguel had a warning tone.
“everything was wonderful. not once after each event happened a giant hole formed until one day it just did. it was just a normal day. gwen and i were having a date at this ice cream shop she loved, she looked so pretty. she always did. we were walking towards the met since she kept saying we needed to visit more.”
you raised mayday above you and flashed a toothy smile. she giggled and you pulled her close to rub noses. a sigh as you continue your story.
“it- it just happened out of nowhere. i can’t even place what the cause would have been. one minute it’s a normal day and then next a black hole a few blocks away which then changed into… reality being eaten away.”
you didn’t notice the tears falling until little hands touched your cheeks. mayday stared and baby babbled. a hand to your shoulder, peter giving a pitying look. you handed his daughter back to him and wiped your tears. done with talking, but miguel finished the story.
“they already had a watch and when i noticed what was happening and the rate it was destroying everything… i managed to pull them out in time. they are the last remnants of their home reality.”
it was quiet. no one was speaking and it still felt too loud.
“but… what’s this got to do with me?” happy that miles pulled the attention back to him.
“you are the first anomaly.” miguel voiced. “your spider bite wasn’t from your dimension, you already had a spider-man. and yet somehow… everything is fine.” he seemed pissed at the simple fact.
“miles in two days your dad is gonna become captain.” gwen spoke. her tone seeping in sorrow.
miles looked around. his face scrunched in confusion and growing anger. then he did another look at the images of different peters with captain stacy. his face was dropping.
“your- you're saying i just have to let my dad die? to- to avoid reality crashing? cause it’s a- a canon event?”
“yes,” miguel replied as if that didn’t sound crazy.
miles turned to gwen, “your dad. he’s a captain right?” she nodded. “you’re just, what? just gonna let him die?” her eyes fell to the floor.
“we have to do things to keep reality stable. it’s not always pretty, but it comes with the cost of being spider-man. you can’t have both.”
“i can! i know i can! i can be spider-man and miles!”
your senses went off just a bit and you took account of all the people starting to crowd the room. this felt wrong. it felt like a trap, and for once you're the bad guys. peter and gwen tried to calm miles down, he was understandably upset at everyone shouting orders at him. you wanted to pull miles away and hide the both of you from miguel and the others. this wasn’t right.
“this will hold you for a few days.” and miguel dropped one of his devices to the floor that changed to a red-screened cage.
“miles!” you rushed to the holoprojection and started to bang your fist along with miles. gwen and peter were bickering with miguel. and hobie popped up beside you with his palms facing miles with a knowing smile.
hobie pulled you away when you started to see the electricity start to spark. then suddenly there was a loud boom and explosion of air. everyone was swept off their feet. hobie was able to keep you upright.
miles stood free and looked at his palms as he panted. he quickly looked your way and you only could say, “run.” and he took off.
“no!” miguel roared.
he started to chase after him, but you shot a web to his feet to slow him down. his crazed eyes widened at your disobedience. “you have no idea what you’ve done.” he extended the red blades from his arms, cutting himself free and rushing out of the room with others following.
your chest was panting with fear and worry. you looked to hobie for help, but he stood in a portal and threw his watch away. “for the record i quit.” and he was gone in the blink of an eye.
you were the only one on miles’s side.
you shot web after web at different spider people. at their feet, wrist, faces, anything to slow them down and give miles enough time to form a plan and execute it. you tried to catch up to him, but a few people gave you a taste of your own medicine and fought you.
you were being held down by one of the many peter parker variants, “stay out of our way!” he shouted as he webbed you uptight. you struggled against the hold but it was no use. so you were left alone once the tower was emptied, you just hoped miles was okay.
-
you were sure how long you’ve been webbed up. your body started to get that prickly feeling when it wasn’t getting proper blood flow through the body. wiggling your body in the hold, hoping to loosen it, a voice called out.
“y/n?” eyes connected with miles who was hanging upside down on a web. one side of his suit was ripped, but he looked safe.
“oh thank goodness. i tried to catch up, but as you can see, i’ve been webbed.”
miles looked around. when he eyed you again he looked hesitant to free you, you understood. some of his friends that he’s known longer turned on him behind his back. but you knew he was a different case, miguel was just using this canon logic as a cover.
“go miles. i don’t want to keep you from getting home.” a reassuring smile to his tired eyes. but he didn’t leave, he started to pull at the webbing and helped you free.
“let’s go.” he led you to the go-home machine. he was able to go invisible as he worked the computers so you stayed on the ceiling in the dark shadows.
when the machine was up and running he hopped in and called your name. you looked to margo, spider byte, who was busy with lyla as the two tried to stop the stitching process. you dived in and stood beside him, the two of you getting anxious the longer it was taking.
“stop the machine!” miguel was charging forward. you knew margo shouted a comment back without hearing her.
the machine was getting closer, it was about eighty percent closed. you thought you were in the clear, but miguel sunk his blood-red claws into the threading and started to rip at it. you pushed miles behind you, “just let us go, miguel!”
“i can’t do that, y/n! why can’t you understand i’m doing this for everyone’s safety!” he growled. the threading was holding.
“because this canon shit is a lie! if miles wasn’t supposed to be spider-man, his reality would have broken a long time ago! you’re just trying to manipulate everyone!”
your body lifted into the air. it was time to leave. and just before you were gone, you did one more reckless thing. you tore the watch off your wrist and threw it to the ground making it shatter. you stared directly into miguel’s burning eyes.
“i quit.”

Could You Write Yandere Jessica Drew (Platonic) with A Child Reader (G/N)?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: yandere behavior
A/N: I assumed you were talking about teenager reader as I don't do child reader requests. But ty for requesting, hope you enjoy :]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her platonic behaviors consist of being manipulative, slightly possessive, and insanely protective. She’s seen what people have turned into after losing their most beloved family members, and she doesn’t want to risk anything; especially with your life.
While she is aware of her thinking is wrong. She can’t help herself when it comes to you. You’re her kid. You need protecting. She’s here for you, you know that right?
You’re likely a Spider Person or a friend of Miles which is how she met you, either way, you’re now considered her kid. Everyone in the compound knows who you are. She’s always taking care of you, often reminding you to rest as much as you can due to your brain is growing.
Now, if you are a Spider Person, it’s 50/50 if she’ll let you continue with the missions. If you’re known for getting into trouble or often getting Miguel angry, she’s more prone to ask Miguel to let her take you to her universe, watching you for ‘supervision aspects’. Which, ends up with you staying there - permanently.
As for the other part, if you’re quite a good teammate and get things done - with or without people - likely, she’ll let you continue with them but sternly states she’ll be coming with you from now on.
She’s easier on you than the others; especially with Hobie or Gwen. She’s incredibly gentle with you, letting you get away with a few things, and will cover you with an excuse from Miguel if you do something wrong. While she’ll likely give you the ‘mom eyes’ and make you promise not to do it again, she’d do it for you within a heartbeat.
Jessica is considerably a calm but stern mother. She has expectations for you that a decent parent has, and gets disappointed if you don’t follow her words. (Queue the: “I’m not mad, just disappointed,” type of talk.)
With parental intentions, she does respect your boundaries and needs for privacy; but does have her fair share of concerns. She gently suggests certain things: not staying out too late, making sure not to get into much trouble, getting enough sleep, getting help for school, and eating properly. This also includes if you’ve been staying in your room more often.
Again, she respects your boundaries in her heart. If you don’t like being touched, she will try her hardest to not touch you unless it’s necessary - often harshly reminding people when they go to reach for you. If you hate the taste and smell of fish? She’ll make sure to never cook it, and if she does, she’ll eat it somewhere where you don’t have to smell it. Need eye contact with talking? She’s staring at you with a gentle smile, nodding along to your conversation.
She always makes sure to be there for you, if you’re upset or in trouble, she somehow knows and is always there with open arms. Jessica makes sure to provide a safe place at her home, with all comfort items and a warm but inviting household. In this sense, there would be slight manipulation to get you to rely on her more, but as far as she is concerned, it’s all good as she’s helping you.
She allows you to keep an outside life. She doesn’t want you to ‘break’ or ‘lose sanity’, she wants you to keep being you; hence why she still lets you have friends, letting you talk to some of your family members with her permission, and goes to the mall whenever you want.
While it may come as a surprise, she loves spoiling you when she can. More often or not, whenever she gets from missions, she has a bag full of surprises for you; a few being your comfort food, a cute but new T-shirt, and a few more items that she hopes you’ll like.
Definitely brings you along with her when she goes shopping for the baby. She often stops to stroll at the baby clothes, letting out small gasps or whines when she finds a cute one-piece; asking you if this would be a good fit. And yes, she does beg you to let her buy a matching onesie with you, her, and the baby.
While she isn’t the one to smother you in huge amounts of affection, she does crave hugs, kisses, and times when she can spend time with you. She adores hearing how your day was during the times she gets home, asking how you felt, and often asking if you need help with homework, or if the two of you can see the new movie coming to the movie theaters.
Dating is a tricky part for her. While she does understand you will likely fall into the category of having crushes and having breakthroughs with dating, she’s not a huge fan of it. Sure, she’s happy you find someone. But that doesn’t mean she automatically trusts them - she will need clarification through them and you; how old are they? What high school do they attend? Do they have a job? If so, what is it? What is their home life like? Questions keep spiraling out until she likely exhausts you.
Jessica often makes you lunches to where you can take to wherever you’re going. She always makes sure to do cute designs, leaving sticky notes of ‘love you!’ and ‘have a good day <3’.

A Miguel O’Hara x OC series - link on AO3 (X)
Chapter 4: Society - previous chapter (X)
Pairing: Miguel O’Hara x Female OC
Words: 2.9K+
Rating: G - No warnings here! A side for one more barf at the beginning.
Summary: Peter B. gives Lisa a tour of the Spider-Society before Miguel debriefs her regarding the situation with her universe.
/////////
I ended up barfing three more times in the last hour. My throat was burning from the acid that was left over, and it pulsed every time I took a deep breath to calm myself. By then, Miguel decided he’d prepare something for me to help further explain why I was in another dimension.
“That bracelet will help you keep from glitching during your time here,” He explained briefly before turning to leave. “Peter will escort you to my lab once you’re well enough to move around,”
Before I could even get a question out, he was already gone. Both him and Peter had briefly explained the Spider-Society to me. An elite task force of multiple other Spider-People from other dimensions. I had asked Peter how many Spider-Men and Women there were in the multiverse. He said there were too many to count, but that didn’t stop him from trying.
“Let’s see, that I know of, we got Me, Peter Parker, Peter C. Parker, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Punk, Spider-Ham, Spider-Noir, Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Girl, Cyborg-Spider, Spider-Cat–”
I became immediately overwhelmed as he continued to list the names of all of the Spider-People he appeared to know at the top of his hand. There was a bubbling sensation in my stomach. That was when I barfed the third time.
“Oh geez, sorry!” Peter B. cringed at the display as he gently used his washcloth to clean my mouth. “I guess I’ll leave the rest of the explaining to Miguel,”
Spider-Doc checked my vitals once more before putting me through some physical exercises to make sure I could stand and walk on my own. When he was satisfied, he cleared me from his office.
“Alright, you’re good to go!” He proclaimed as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a Spider-Man themed lollipop.
“Thanks, Doc,” I took the treat in my hand, hesitating briefly before taking off the wrapper and putting it in my mouth. I was pleasantly surprised that it was strawberry flavored.
“Now from what it looks like to me, you’ve made it through the worst of the transformation side-effects. You’ll just feel a little sore and now with your throat, a little rough to speak for a while,” The Doc explained as I sucked on the candy.
“Transformation. . . meaning I’ll have Spider-Powers now?” I asked him with a curious gaze.
“Most likely,” He nodded. “it’s how pretty much all of us got our powers, with a few exceptions,”
Me? Spider-Powers? Maybe it was the rush of adrenaline when I fully processed it, but my brain immediately went to that scene in Hannah Montana where Jackson was complaining about working in the basement of their house, having gotten bitten by a few spiders and was anticipating getting “Spidey Powers” as he called it before doing the web sling gestures with his hands and making the sound effects.
Peter B. placed a gentle hand on my shoulder. “Easy now, don’t want you fainting on us again, or barfing for that matter,”
“Sorry I zoned out there,” I rubbed the back of my neck in embarrassment as I popped the lollipop out of my mouth. “Everything is just so–”
“A lot?” Peter finished the sentence for me. “Well, it’s only going to get a lot more from there,” He chuckled, snorting at his joke.
I gave him a perplexed look before he immediately shook his head, waving it off. “Okay, that was awful, I’m sorry,”
“Hey, an effort was made,” I reassured him as my expression turned sympathetic.
“So, this is only a tiny taste of what the rest of HQ looks like. We’ll stop by the food court and get you some food before meeting up with Miguel,” He explained as he motioned for me to follow him outside. “Come on, I’ll give you the grand tour!”
I watched as he walked forward, the automatic doors opening as he stepped through and I could see the brisk white and red hallways. Taking a deep breath to compose myself, I cautiously followed him, raising my hand to shield my eyes from the bright lights of the room as we entered the main hall.
What I saw made my jaw drop, my lollipop falling out of my mouth. The main hall was a giant room with walkways and pillars, allowing Spider-People to swing, crawl, and walk pretty much anywhere. I saw a Spider-Cop directing traffic, a Spider-Woman walking her Spider-Dog, I was so entranced by it all I almost didn’t notice a Spider-Janitor web shooting my lollipop from the ground and straight into a garbage shoot.
“This is insane,” I gasped as I craned my neck to take in absolutely everything I could.
“Come on, the food court is this way,” Peter tugged me along gently as I followed him down the hall.
He was kind enough to show me the normal route without needing to swing webs or wall crawl, taking a longer route. As we walked, it was hard to not notice all the stares and whispers from the other Spider-People around us. I hunched my shoulders as I tried to hide my face, shuffling closer towards Peter B.
“I take it this doesn’t happen every day?” I asked him.
“It has been a while since we got a new recruit to the team,” Peter B. answered as we walked, waving to some other Peter Parkers. “It’s definitely surprising seeing someone from your universe here,”
I remembered in between my barf sessions, Miguel had mentioned that the dimension where I’m apparently from, Earth-1218 is one of if not the purest dimension in the multiverse. Superheroes aren’t supposed to exist in our world other than as fictional entities.
I wanted to ask him further questions, but still feeling embarrassed about him seeing me so vulnerable, I didn’t pry on it. In that moment, I felt he was being patient with me, whether his intention was true or I was making things more difficult. But there wasn’t anything mistaking the sympathetic look in his eyes as he talked to me.
If everything about my dimension is true, does he blame himself for what happened?
Peter B. and I arrived at the cafeteria. He treated me to a Spider-Man 2099 decorative cheeseburger, fries, and a soft drink. I couldn’t help but smirk at all the themed items. So far this was becoming the most pleasant part of all this madness. The food did smell pretty good. Peter ordered the food to go so we wouldn’t keep Miguel waiting too long.
I unwrapped the paper from the burger and took a bite out of it. It tasted pretty good too.
“Like it?” Peter B. asked and smiled when I nodded passionately. “That’s good, that’s good. They’re some of my personal favourites to chow down here, but my favourite burger I’ve eaten is over in another buddy of mine’s dimension,”
“Another Parker?” I asked him as I ate and walked alongside him.
“No, no, Miles Morales,” Peter corrected with a soft smile. “He’s a really good kid. He’s been the Spider-Man of his dimension for a while now,”
“Is he a member of the Spider-Society too?” I asked, smiling at the man. It looked like he cared for Miles quite deeply.
I saw the look in Peter’s eyes as he paused, almost hesitating in his response before speaking, “Actually, no, he’s not. That part is a little complicated,” He suddenly became uncomfortable at the subject, his expression hanging low.
I dropped the French fry I was about to eat back into the bag as I placed a hand on his shoulder. “I’m sorry, was I not supposed to–?”
“No, no, it’s okay, no harm done,” Peter B. reassured me as we came upon a large set of doors. “It’s just been a while since I’ve last seen him. I miss him. He’s still learning the ropes and stuff so he just needs a little more experience is all,”
Passing through the doors, we left the bright main hall of the Society and entered a dark, almost gritty hallway. The room was just light enough allowing us to walk across without bumping into any computer consoles or metal beams that held the room together.
“Ah, there you are!” A female voice spoke up as a small digital figure appeared from thin air. “Perfect timing, Jessica and Gwen are here too!”
I jumped seeing the hologram, clutching my bag of food closer to my chest. “What the?!”
“Whoops! Sorry about that, didn’t mean to scare you,” She apologized with a snicker. “I like a good jump scare, I can’t help myself,”
“Lisa, this is Lyla, Miguel’s personal AI. She helps manage and run things here in the Society and monitors the multiverse. Lyla, this is–” Peter B. introduced me to her before Lyla zoomed in on my face.
“Lisa from Earth-1218! I’ve been dying to meet you! Wait, I need to document this historic moment,” Lyla brought out her own virtual phone as she turned the camera to face us as she snuggled in close. “Selfie!”
The camera snapped, capturing a picture of the two of us.
“Lyla, is that you over there?” A familiar tenor voice called out.
“Oh, that’s the boss, shouldn’t keep him waiting. Don’t be shy now, he may look intimidating, but he’s harmless deep down,” Lyla winked over at me before flying off forward. “Yep! They’re here, Miguel, I’m bringing them to you!”
Peter B. motioned his hand out, gesturing me to go first. I followed Lyla’s lead as she flew and zipped about the hall. We turned a corner and my lips parted open slightly as I took in the towering platform above us.
It was littered with holographic screens and computer consoles and mixed in with it all as Miguel. I watched curiously as he reached over, grabbing some sort of injection device, attaching a green vial. He lifted it to his shoulder where part of his suit dematerialized, showing off some of his skin as he used the device to inject the serum from the vial inside of him. As he turned around, I saw the iris of his eyes change from a glowing red to a calm brown and our eyes met.
I stopped, initially caught off guard by the gesture. Like I was a little kid getting caught by their parents doing something I wasn’t supposed to be doing. My cheeks flushed slightly as I averted my gaze, not meaning to stare longer than I did. It didn’t help that I could feel his gaze still lingering on me.
“Now that everyone is here,” A new voice caught my attention as I looked over towards Jessica Drew. Her dark hair was puffed out in a perfect afro with yellow glasses and matching hoop earring. She wore a red suit and belt around her waist that highlighted her pregnant belly. “Shall we get started?”
“Yeah, sorry about the wait,” Peter B. apologized as he stepped forward, looking up towards Miguel. “I got her some food, I figured she’d be hungry after, ya know. . .”
Miguel watched him briefly before using his red glowing web slinger to swing down from the platform, joining us all on the ground floor as he stood between Jessica and who I quickly assumed was Gwen. “Are you feeling any better?”
I nodded gently. “Yes,”
“Good then,” he nodded back. “Let’s not waste anymore time,”
Lyla appeared beside him as she did a gesture with her arms and suddenly white lines pulsed on the floor like a rain drop causing a ripple effect in a pond. A pure white light tree grew from the floor below us, its branches growing larger and stretching about the room until their structure and design resembled a spiderweb. Multiple webs in fact.
“This is. . . everything. All the dimensions and universes of Spider-Man connected into one giant web. They each go through canon events that push their universe’s story forward,” Miguel began as he reached his hand out and dragged the hologram along, showing us a specific web. “This is Earth-1218. Your dimension,”
I stepped closer towards the hologram. It was strangely beautiful to look at. While the other webs were highlighted in red, mine was coloured in blue.
“Your dimensions laws of physics and nature are so pure, that the very concept of a superhuman existing is out of the question. The science is not there,” Miguel went on as he slowly stalked around the hologram and came to my side.
“What about the Spider that bit me? Did it come from another dimension?” I asked.
The very question brought the memory of the Doc Ock fight back into Miguel’s mind as he replayed the moment of tossing him towards the Spider containment over and over again. He sighed, seeming tired and defeated. “Yes. Inter-dimensional travel is extremely dangerous unless you have the right tools. The spider slipped into your dimension, and when it bit you, it caused your universe to experience unplanned canon event,”
He used his hands to zoom in on the web and upon closer inspection I saw that some of the blue lines were pulsing with white light. Like a spark of electricity. “What is it doing?” I looked over towards Miguel with a look of concern in my face. “Is my universe in danger because of this?”
“Your universe appears to be trying to repair itself. If Peter and I didn’t find you when we did, more damage could have been done. Your universe is deciding whether or not it will accept a real Spider-Woman. Not just from your stories. If it doesn’t, the effects could be irreversible,” Miguel responded with a grim look.
“What about. .  if I will become Spider-Woman or not?” I asked with uncertainty.
Miguel looked at me for a hard second before web shooting my empty food bag and tossing it into the garbage shoot. I still had some fries left too!
Miguel raised a cocky brow at me as he placed his hands on his hips. “There never was a Spider-Woman in Earth-1218, and there never will be,”
“But Miguel,” Gwen’s voice perked up as she stepped forward. “She’s going to have powers now, right? She can’t just not use them, can’t she?”
“Gwen,” Miguel’s voice hung low as he shot her cautious glance. “Unless she wants her universe to not exist anymore, she doesn’t have a choice in that,”
“But what if something happens that’s out of her control and they activate?” Jessica asked. “She’d be vulnerable,”
“Out of the question. She can’t be Spider-Woman,” Miguel stated firmly.
I coughed loudly into my first, gaining everyone’s attention. “May I say something,” I looked up towards Miguel. “Please?”
Surprised by my sudden outburst, his iris pulsed red briefly before a curious expression showed on his face. “Very well,”
“If I can’t be Spider-Woman in my universe to preserve its existence, then fine, if it means protecting every life there. But what if I could still be Spider-Woman here?” I asked.
“I see, you’re on to something,” Peter B. smirked, nodding in approval.
“What is she talking about? Like joining us?” Jessica looked between us all.
My gaze returned to Miguel, my eyes pouring into his. “Train me. Let me practice here so I can better control these powers so they don’t accidental go off on me while I’m living my life,”
Miguel stared at me with a dumbfounded expression as he sighed, brushing his hand over his face and hair as he turned to the side, the gears in his head turning.
“I understand that preserving the Multiverse is very important to you, and I want to help you in any way I can,” I stated. “But without all of your guidance, I’ll be going in blind,”
Another sigh escaped Miguel’s puffed lips as his gaze glanced back towards me, sizing me up. “Lyla, ask Margo to construct a gizmo for Lisa, please,”
“Already did as soon as she came in,” Lyla winked.
“Gizmo?” I repeated with a bewildered smile.
“The Gizmo is a watch that will allow you to travel between other dimensions. In your case, between here and your dimension,” Gwen elaborated as she approached me, taking her mask off to reveal her side cut blonde hair with pink dye, eyebrow piercings, and navy blue eyes. “I’m Gwen, if that wasn’t obvious already,”
“Lisa,” I smiled as the two of us shook hands.
“The fate of the multiverse may depend on your cooperation to this plan of yours, Lisa,” Miguel lectured softly as he stepped closer towards me. “Do you swear to only use your powers within the vicinity of the HQ?”
His stern, intimidating stare sent a shiver down my spine as he towered over me. I sucked in a breath, gulping before I stood firm, nodding my head. “I swear,”
There was a hint of a smirk on Miguel’s face as he hummed before reaching a large hand out towards mine. “Then welcome to the Spider-Society,”
“You won’t regret this, Miguel, I’ll train hard,” I smiled as I shook his hand. His grip was firm, powerful compared to my smaller hand. I pulled back and silently cheered. “I’m ready to get started, the sooner the better!”
I fist bumped the air and felt a rush of energy course through my arm as something squirted out from my wrist. I looked up to see web fluid shoot out into the air. It hovered briefly before making a harsh descent, right into Miguel’s face.
The room was silent as everyone looked upon the display, eyes widened as Gwen tried to hold in her laughter. I gasped, covering my mouth with my hands. “I’m so sorry! That doesn’t count does it?”
With a quiet grumble under his breath, Miguel swiftly brushed the web fluid off his face, casting it aside as he shot me a tired glance. “Like you said; The sooner the better,”

Lord and Miller tease the return of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Multiverses: They're very hot right now. Between Everything Everywhere All at Once, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Hollywood sure loves a trippy tale that bounces between dimensions.
But no movie does it quite like 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the innovative animated film about teenage web-slinger Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore). When the original first swung into theaters, it almost immediately became an instant classic, reenergizing the genre and winning the Oscar for Best Animated Film. It's everything a superhero movie can and should be: ambitious, colorful, heartfelt, and deeply funny.
Now, Miles and his fellow Spideys are back — and they're about to face their biggest threat yet.
The first of two planned sequels, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, is scheduled to hit theaters June 2, 2023, and anticipation has never been higher. For EW's 2023 Preview, we caught up with screenwriter-producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who teased the next chapter in Miles' adventure, one that follows a slightly older teenage hero as he juggles growing pains with the high-stakes responsibilities of "great power."
"As he's growing up, he's trying to figure out how he can go out and see the world and spread his wings and leave the nest," Miller, 47, explains. "But he also feels rooted to his home and his family. It's that push-pull of your life as a teenager, where you're like, How do I get to be my own person, but also not lose where I came from?"
Fortunately for Miles, he's not navigating that journey alone. If the first film followed a squad of different Spider-People as they traveled to Miles' universe, this one finds Miles venturing into the multiverse himself. As he swings across dimensions — each with its own unique art style — he meets countless other Spideys. (Lord and Miller don't have a final number, but between major roles and brief cameos, they estimate about 240 unique characters were designed and modeled for Across the Spider-Verse.)
A number of familiar voices are back, as Miles reunites with Spider-Gwen (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) and Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson). He also links up with new allies, like Jessica Drew's Spider-Woman. Insecure's Issa Rae voices Jessica, a motorcycle-riding phenomenon who helps mentor Gwen. "A lot of work has gone into making that character look great," Lord, 47, adds. "If you've ever been around Issa, she's such a dynamo of talent and grace, so you just want to make the character look as cool as she is."
Oscar Isaac takes an expanded role as Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, who made a brief cameo in the first film's end-credits scene. Lord and Miller say that Miguel and Miles have a lot in common, but they don't always see eye to eye — especially when it concerns the safety of the multiverse. "He's not the villain of the movie, but he's sort of an antagonist to Miles because they both think that what they're doing is the right thing," Miller teases.
As for the actual villain? Jason Schwartzman voices the Spot, a cryptic baddie with the ability to create portals between different dimensions. With his goofy, almost dalmatian-like costume, he isn't necessarily an A-list comic book villain. But Lord and Miller say the Spot's trippy powers make him "a perfect character for animation," with abilities that allow him to bend reality almost like an old Wile E. Coyote cartoon.
"I like the villains best when they reflect the journeys of the hero — sort of a dark mirror of the protagonist," Lord adds. "And I think Spot's no different. He wants to be seen as legitimate. He's a character that has a silly costume and is not always seen as the top tier of Spider-Man foes, but like all of us, he wants to be taken seriously."
Still, despite all the jaw-dropping animation and clever cameos, Lord and Miller stress that Across the Spider-Verse is Miles' story, first and foremost.
"Even with all the whizzbang parts, we're always trying to look for ways to make them scenes between characters," Lord says. "That's the thing that everybody wants, which is so surprising to me. I never expected the star of [the first] movie to be people talking together in dramatic scenes. But that's the thing that people are most interested in."
"Really, the hardest thing is making sure that you've got a story that you care about and that you're emotionally connected to," Miller adds. "Without that, you've got nothing.

Helloooo it's me again! Thanks for making Spider-Gwen! I really loved it! If I can make the requests more specific, I'd love to see Jessica Drew becoming interested (read, obsessed) in a younger hero. Maybe she ends up mentoring them? Thank you so much! -Lonely Anon
Yandere Mentor!Jessica Drew/Spider Woman
Tumblr media
I'm glad to read that you loved the Spider-Gwen one I did. And I don't mind the request being more specific. I did make this more Platonic than Romantic, I hope you don't mind.💚
🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸🕸
Ever since Jessica saw you on the news for the first time, she just new there was something about you, something she needed to see for herself. Taking a seat back on the couch, Jessica started thinking about how she'd be able to play off running into you. She didn't want to come off as a weirdo, but she also really has this itch to meet you and how else will she do that besides donning her Spider Woman attire.
Hearing the alarms go off at a nearby jewelry store, you make your way there, suited up and everything. Being a hero wasn't all it was cut out to be. Who knows how many times you almost died, you sure don't. And besides you're just a kid, you shouldn't be almost dying or dying in general. Are you just in over your head? You should really rethink this whole thing, but right now you'll put all your focus and energy into taking down these robbers.
Mid-fight with these more professional robber than you had originally thought, Spider Woman bursts in, taking them down one by one, and you're more than thankful. You didn't know whether you'd get through this or not, you'd really have to owe her something.
Helping you to your feet, she starts making small talk, a few little spider pins here and there. You weren't really expecting to be, what felt like being, interrogated. She wasn't really coming off like she had any I'll intent, you just chalk it up to her being weary of a new hero on the scene. It made scense, most heroes were like that to some extent. You kinda welcomed the interaction, all the other heroes were more vocal about their displeasure in having another kid hero around, talking about it being unsafe and you were starting to believe them. You just kept trying to remind yourself not to give up too much information about your true identity.
Continuing your chat on a nearby rooftop, you were feeling a connection to the Spider Woman. It was nice having someone to talk to. Getting carried away with the conversation at hand, you didn't notice the way she looked at you or the fond smile she had when you would talk about something passionately. If you had, you may not have gotten caught in her spider's web.
Before your rendezvous is over, she asks you if you'd like her to take you under her wing and mentor you, and you couldn't be happier. Neither could she. The two of you shaking each other's hand in agreement to the new dynamic.
You both will learn a thing or two with your guy's new dynamic. She'll progressively learn that she isn't all alone in the world anymore and you'll learn a bit more about being a hero. Jessica is known to be quite angry and she can have outbursts from time to time.
Jessica would become more protective of you, the longer the two of you are working together. She sees you as a very important person to her and she won't let anyone hurt you. She doesn't want anyone to take away the only person who has made her feel anything other than alone or inadequate.
I could see Jessica later on trying to deter you from becoming a hero, she'll even use your older insecurities to make you stop. She doesn't want you getting hurt or dying.
She would lose herself completely if you died. The only person who she cared about and who cared about her dying would just cause her to be angrier and to close herself off.
She wouldn't hesitate to kill for you, especially if your life was at risk. Not giving it a second thought and just proceeding with dishing out their demise, Jessica would rush you to her home to care for you as best she could.
I could see her wanting to be a family, just you and her. She wants and needs someone around like you to keep her from digging herself a hole again.
She'll make it her goal to keep you safe and out of harms way, using whatever necessary to accomplish her goal.
Without you, Jessica's life would end up with her feeling that lonesome void again and she never wants to feel that, not after feeling accepted and understood with you. She wouldn't give that up for the world. She feels a sense of belonging and that's with you and only you.
A/n: I hope this is sort of what you were looking for. I feel like I may have gotten a few things wrong with Jessica Drew. If so please do correct me and I can fix them. But all the things I've seen and read pretty much said the same thing. Thank you for the requests. I've never done anything for her before do this was kinda fun!💚

SIM Prompt if you will - SIM had kidnapped Peter from the MCU dimension to replace his Peter that was murdered. Peter was taken against his will, but after receiving injections of Extremis, he forgets his old dimension and takes his place at SIM’s side.
Yaaaaas! And, because I’m a hoe for ‘only soft for one person’ Tony is only soft for Peter, kind of (like, he does kidnap the dude and force him into his own version of Peter against his will but he does it out of ‘love’).
Warnings: non-con experimentation with extremis, kind of non con in general? Like Peter is willing, but only after some real extreme circumstances that kind of strip him of his decision making skills. So like mostly non con dub con, I guess.
*
Peter is panicked and Tony figures he has a right to be. Holding someone with his strength hostage is difficult but he'd long ago figured out how to hold super people in his grasp- he’d had to kill a good number of them too. He could kill Peter too, but he’s hoping this one will work out. It had taken time to find him and this one is the most like his Peter, even his life events are the same. Not, he supposes, that he’ll remember that soon enough. But he does need to gain his trust first and that’ll be easier if he looks like his Tony. They’re already virtually identical, but the eyes are off. His Tony’s are a rich brown and his are a bright blue, almost unnatural looking but that’s because of the extremis.
Still, he needs to get Peter to trust him long enough for him to give him a dose of extremis, one of several he’ll need to properly rewrite over Peter’s DNA altered as it is. God damn spider, he’d had to find at least one hundred of the fucking things to figure out how it rewrote the victim’s DNA to begin with so he could properly modify extremis to code over it. Peter’s formula won’t allow for shape shifting the way his does and while he’s never had a use for it before, he’s already the perfect version of himself, he finds it useful now as he forcibly turns his eyes a dark brown. It looks off to him in the mirror, strange and unpleasant to look at, but it’s this or run the risk of Peter flailing around and he has no time for that. This has taken long enough, he wants his Peter back.
When he’s satisfied that he looks enough like Peter’s Tony, including a little grey in his normally dark brown hair, he makes his way out to Peter. He looks terrified, eyes wide and red rimmed as he looks around, locating Tony fast. Easy to do with super hearing. For a moment he stiffens, sure that he’s... well himself Tony is sure, but he relaxes when he notices the eyes. Excellent, then.
“Oh my god, Tony! Please get me out of here there’s another you and he’s insane and-”
“Shh,” Tony tells him as he steps up onto the platform that Peter is currently held on. He’s on his knees, arms drawn back behind him just a little too far to be comfortable. He’s found its the easiest way to hold people with Peter’s abilities. He supposes he can thank one Miles Morales for that knowledge. “I’m going to make you better, but you need to relax,” he tells Peter.
Peter frowns, “wha- what does that mean?” he asks, confused.
He brushes his fingers along Peter’s jawline, catching him off guard but it does result in him relaxing. Excellent, so he does have feelings for his Tony. Good, that’ll make this easier. Most of his memory will be wiped, but he’s hoping being here for the process will keep some of the knowledge of who he is around. It’ll make things easier later, when Peter takes his place by his side where he should be.
“I need you to relax, baby,” Tony murmurs, “this is gunna sting a little.” Peter frowns again but the needle is already in his neck and gone before he can think to shake his head any. Peter gasps, eyes going wide as the formula takes hold and Tony sinks down to his knees in front of him, letting his eyes fade back to their natural blue. “Shh, baby let it do its work. You’ll perfect after, just perfect,” he murmurs, petting Peter’s face softly. Peter whimpers and that hurts to hear but its a necessary evil.
*
The next round of extremis goes slightly better. Peter is disoriented and confused, but Tony tells him that he’s making him better, perfect, and he relaxes some. When he injects Peter the second time he waits, stressed, not too far away because a good number of his test subjects died at this point. Miles Morales had died, Jessica Drew, another version of Peter that had been just to the left of who his Peter was and he’s happy that he found this superior version of Peter now. The only thing off is his hair color, which is a little darker than his Peter’s.
But after several modifications to the extremis formula Gwen Stacy lived so he waits to see whether its successful on Peter too. After this it’ll need one more dose to fully rewrite his DNA and rid him of his pesky memories of his past life.
He waits for what feels like hours until Peter pulls through successfully and he lets himself relax. Peter is breathing heavily as he kneels beside him, petting his hair away from his face as he releases him from his restraints. Peter falls into his arms immediately, curling them around him and he lets out a sigh that damn near resembles a sob. Oh, he’s missed this. “Shh, baby I’m here,” he tells Peter softly. “I’ve got you, you’re safe,” he says as he pets Peter’s hair. “Lets get you to a bed, hmm?”
*
He waits by Peter’s bed waiting for him to wake up form his third round of extremis, the proper amount to mostly wipe the brain of memory. Plenty remains, but anything about his past life should be gone by now and it shouldn’t come back. Gwen Stacy has yet to regain her memories of her past self and now that Peter is back he won’t need to keep her around as a lab rat anymore. His work is done and so is hers.
It takes time but eventually Peter wakes up and Tony raises an eyebrow. Peter smiles a little, completely unthreatened despite the fact that he’s not disguising himself as his old Tony. Good. “What?” he asks, propping himself up onto his elbow.
Tony smiles at him too, “nothing, its just that your eyes are beautiful,” he says. They’re a brighter topaz shade than they were before, too bright to be completely natural so it must be a side effect of the extremis. He doesn’t mind the difference.
Peter smiles fondly and he wonders what he remembers to be looking at him like that. “You’re too nice,” he says and Tony resists the urge to laugh. Its been a long time since anyone used that word to describe him. Might have been his Peter, before his untimely death, actually.
“Mhm. What do you remember, baby?” he asks, reaching out and settling a hand over Peter’s.
He’s surprised, but not disappointed, when Peter lays his free hand over his. “I um... remember that... I don’t know, I must have gotten kidnapped I guess but you were there and you got me out. I must have been sick or something because I felt really feverish and you told me you were gunna make me better and I guess you did it because I feel fine now,” he says.
So he has some memories of his past but... well, if he were to guess they blended with whatever feelings he previously had for his Tony and transferred to him. That’s... not an anticipated side effect but he’s not going to complain about it either. “That’s good, baby. Anything else?” he asks, hoping to tease out any problems before they become problems.
Peter thinks, frowning just a little as his eyebrows draw together. “...No. That’s really weird because- oh my god, I don’t... don’t remember us, I’m so sorry-” he starts but Tony shuts him up with a kiss.
“Shh, its okay. I don’t need you to remember how you feel to know, okay? We can work on that later. So that’s it then, you just remember a little of what happened?” he asks, purposefully evading reinforcing what actually happened. No need to give him more to go on, if he’s lucky the memory will mostly fade over time anyway. If he’s extra lucky he’ll forget it entirely.
Peter relaxes some before he perks up, “do we have cookies?” he asks and Tony can’t help his smile. His Peter had liked cookies entirely way too much too.
“Of course baby. And while you probably eat the whole box I’ll reacquaint you with the house,” he says. And all his stuff- well, the other version of him’s stuff. This Peter is the closest he’s found to his and he’s going to make sure he’ll be exactly what he wants right down to what he wears.
Unaware of his plans Peter looks excited, “awesome!”
*
Peter is curled into his side sleeping in one of his shirts exactly the way his Peter used to. Its relieving to see after so long and this one is so perfect, just like his old Peter. He didn’t even question his wardrobe, he just slipped right into the previous Peter’s outfits without issue despite the fact that he knows this Peter never dressed the way his did. He’s happy to see Peter back and he thinks the ache in his heart will lessen as Peter slowly learns his role. It helps that he’s fully reliant on him to explain what he did and how he did it and he’s so sweet, so trusting. He takes his word at face value and does whatever he says, no questions.
God, he loves Peter. He’s missed him so much.
“Boss,” Ultron says over the speakers.
Tony makes an irritated noise, “what?” he asks, annoyed to be interrupted with his time with Peter.
“It looks like the version of you from the dimension has breached into this one,” he says and Tony lets out another irritated noise.
“Would you shut up!” he hisses at the AI. “Where is he?” he adds.
Peter stirs and shit, he better not have heard any of that.
“Outter limits of the city,” Ultron tells him.
“What’s going on?” Peter asks, rubbing at his eyes.
Tony panics for a moment. “Nothing baby, just a small snag outside the city I have to deal with. Go back to sleep, I’ll be back in an hour or so,” he murmurs, kissing Peter softly.
He melts into it, so soft and compliant. “Will you be okay?” he asks, eyes a little wide.
“Of course I will be baby, its nothing much,” he says, brushing a curl out of Peter’s face.
He lets out a soft huff, “then why do you have to go deal with it? Let someone else do it and stay here with me,” he murmurs, arms around Tony’s neck.
He sighs, giving Peter another kiss. “I’m the one who’s presiding over the city, its my job to deal with problems. I won’t take long, I promise,” he murmurs into Peter’s mouth.
Peter smiles, “great power comes with great responsibility. My uncle used to say that,” he says.
Curious, in this dimension his aunt and uncle died when he was a child. He happens to know that his parents died in the dimension Peter is from, though its strange that he remembers that. Or parts of it. Maybe he should keep Gwen around a little longer, prod her for more details of her past to see what bits and pieces she remembers. Strong emotional moments seem to be the connecting line so far, but he’s not looking to have to redo his extremis formula and risk Peter. But he’ll worry about that later.
“So it does. I’ll be back soon, baby,” he tells Peter, giving him one final kiss before he’s off.
*
He’s not hard to find in that ostentatious suit but Tony has to admit he’s impressed with the amount of anger on his face. “If you hurt him-” he starts and Tony rolls his eyes.
“He’s fine, perfect even. Go home,” he says, waving him off. He knows he won’t be nearly that easy to deal with but he can hope.
The other Tony snorts, “yeah, not a fucking chance,” he says as a line of iron man suits appear around them both. Theoretically they’re surrounded but he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve too.
“That’s cute,” he says, already half connected to the bots and that’s... strange. They seem to be connected to the other Tony’s mind too, but not via extremis. Hmm. Guess it’ll be a battle of wills then, and he’s not prepared to lose.

“After the disappointment of the Andrew Garfield-led Amazing Spider-Man movies, everyone’s favorite wallcrawler has been having a renaissance. Entering the Marvel cinematic universe in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, the webslinger fully redeemed himself with well-crafted live-action film in Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
Yes...okay...that was definitely what Homecoming was....
“and a wildly successful spin-off film Venom, ”
 I mean financially successful sure...
“In the midst of all his success, Spider-Man has quietly become one of the most inclusive and socially conscious superheroes of today.”
*raises eyebrow*
 Okay...go on...
“Last week, it was announced that Spider-Man: Far From Home would feature two out transgender actors playing trans characters, the first big-budget superhero film to do so. Spider-Man: Homecoming also featured a queer character, as well as numerous people of color.”
Wait who was the queer character in Homecoming?
“It’s also worth mentioning that Spiderverse included a Jewish version of Peter Parker, who is typically portrayed as either secular or Christian.”
 ....ehhhhhhhhh....yes and no.
In media adaptations barring maybe one (the 1994 show cos I do not remember where he got married) Spider-Man is portrayed as...I guess secular but really it’s more that they just don’t say anything.
It’s not that the character is not a believer in a faith per se, especially if you go by older adaptations during times when hardly anyone was secular. It’s just that they, understandably, aren’t saying anything.
In the comics Peter is some kind of Christian but probably a Protestant (unless you go by Amazing Grace where he is an atheist but that’s hot trash we don’t talk about) but we don’t really talk about it that specifically.
We just know that he and his family celebrate Christmas and very, very occasionally Aunt May references going to church and that she, Peter and MJ believe in a monothetistic deity they refer to as ‘God’.
And really apart from the Church thing there is no clue to Peter’s religion and Marvel probably (wisely) would rather keep it that way. He even got married in a civil ceremony!
However in the SUBTEXT...he’s Jewish. And it’s basically an open secret that he is and always has been Jewish.
“The Spider-Man video game also featured a wonderful easter egg for queer fans by having a giant rainbow flag, as well as several smaller ones, scattered around the game’s fictionalized New York City map. ”
I mean that’s wonderful but I wouldn’t call that an Easter Egg so much as...it’s just what you’d find in modern NYC.
“Even the Venom film got in on the fun, with fans shipping Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and the titular male alien-symbiote after the two kissed in the film. Sony even encouraged the pairing, releasing a romantic comedy-esque trailer for the film to promote the home release. While some complained of queer-baiting, most felt that it was all in good fun and included queer people in on the joke, instead of making us the target.”
Again, good for them but I don’t think that was the movie actively trying to be positive towards queer people.
Brock and Venom kissed when Venom was bonded to Brock’s ex-fiance and had a pronounced female form, being an adaptation of a character literally called She-Venom.
And it was based upon a script written in the 1990s so really it was more the movie did it and then people took it as a thing that was shipping Venom and Brock (even though Venom is sexless). Brock and the symbiote have been shipped numerous times in the comics but the subtext has always been that the symbiote, if any sex, is female. In the Spec cartoon it is referred to as Symbi (a pun on Cyndi) and in the Spider-Girl comics it is marked out as female (granted this happens after it’s bonded to a woman).
And again, headcanon away but like...that probably wasn’t intentional at all Sony were just being goofy or unintionally made something people took a certain way.
“Indeed, even in the comics, Spider-Man has always been a fairly inclusive hero. Miles Morales was introduced in the early-2000s, taking over the mantel from Peter Parker for several years. ”
Okay, this is so weird for me to be correcting such a praising point but lets really look at this.
First of all Miles didn’t take over Peter’s role for several years he did it permanently.
Second of all Miles is from 2011 so that’s not the early 2000s, that’s the early 2010s, but okay maybe that was a typo.
Third of all, is it really all that logical to say this franchise that began in 1962 has always been fairly inclusive and then cite a character from 2011 as proof of this? Wouldn’t examples from during the FIRST quarter century have been more apt?
Fourth of all...eh. Has Spider-Man been fairly inclusive from the start? Yes, no, its complicated.
Look there were exactly 0 LGBTQ+ characters in Spider-Man until maybe the 1990s and even then I couldn’t off my head tell you who they were. Felicia Hardy is bisexual but we didn’t find out until the 2000s and it was most prominent in an AU. Really the most significant LGBTQ+ character who’s had the fact that they are queer be more than a one off reference was Max Modell and he debuted 2011 and IIRC wasn’t established as queer until 2012. In defence of Spider-Man the Comics Code literally FORBID any character be anything other than straight until the 1990s and even then it was relatively rare, even in X-Men which you’d think it wouldn’t be.
If we’re talking POC again this one is a bit complicated Glori Grant, Joe Robertson, Randy Robertson are frequently appearing POC characters but not in every run and they aren’t usually as prominent as like Jameson, Aunt May, Harry Osborn, MJ, etc. Characters of other ethnicities are even less frequent and I don’t even know what we should make of Puma/Thomas Fireheart. I mean A for effort, they wanted a Native American character who wasn’t really a villain and wasn’t exactly a sterotype so there is that I guess.
Again though...most other Marvel franchises decade by decade weren’t much better with this and we should give credit where credit is due to the same guy who created Black Panther writing a nuanced scene where 2 black people in the 60s separated by age discuss different approaches to civil rights with neither being proven right or wrong.
When it comes to disabled people, outside of evil insane villains, forget it, there is nothing before Flash Thompson in 2008 unless you count Aunt May’s chronically poor health.
“Spider-Gwen quickly became one of the highest-selling female superhero comics. Spider-Woman was a prominently featured bisexual character, and the female Asian-American hero Silk also had LGBT supporting characters, Rafferty and Lola, who were in a healthy relationship. Additionally, many view vampire villain Morbius, who is getting a spin-off film starring Jared Leto next year, as a metaphor for those suffering during the HIV crisis of the '80s. ”
Again...Spider-Gwen and Silk are 2010s characters so that’s not ‘always fairly inclusive’.
I don’t even know if Jessica Drew is bisexual, I’ve never heard that but I don’t think she is.
Morbius as a metaphor for HIV...MIGHT be true if we are specifically talking about his 1990s solo-book which I’ve never read. But the character as originally created 100% was never about that because he was created in the 1970s before HIV was known about.
“Unlike his Marvel counterparts Thor, Iron Man and Captain America, Spider-Man’s world has accurately reflected real world diversity for years.”
 ....Not really.
I’m not even saying Spidey maybe haven’t been comparatively better at it than those guys but he’s deffo not been accurate.
Plus to be fair to the other guys, Captain America and Iron Man have had at least one major black supporting cast member and in Cap’s case he was fairly candid about social strife and issues.
And with Thor it’s not that fair to throw shade at him for not reflecting the real world given that 90% of this characters and stories are literally pulled from fantasy and myth. I don’t even know if there are any queer figures in Norse myth let alone poc.
“While it’s a seemingly simple idea that any of us can be a superhero, it’s sadly still a radical concept in a endlessly growing film genre that has predominetly centers straight cisgender white men. ”
Well that’s mostly because the comics the movies adapt are about those types of people.
“That is because relatability and inclusion has always been core to Spider-Man’s appeal and message. It’s why the late Stan Lee decided that, unlike other superheroes who expose parts of their faces, Spider-Man had to wear a full-face mask.”
Stan Lee only speculated that that was part of Spider-Man’s appeal, he never had any input on that design choice it was all Steve Ditko...who frankly was unlikely to have been thinking about that...
“Even further, Spider-Man isn’t the king of a country, a billionaire, a woman out of a Greek myth, or a brilliant scientist. He’s just an average high-school kid from Brooklyn who always strives to do the right thing even while struggling to balance his everyday life and hiding a secret identity.”
WHOA there buddy...Spider-Man isn’t routinely ‘a kid’ nor is he from Brooklyn.
MILES is from Brooklyn but Peter, as evidenced by that great big caption in Captain America: Civil War, is from QUEENS.
“And it’s the idea of balancing a secret identity with everyday life that has always allowed Spider-Man to connect with queer audiences long before comic writers were allowed to explicitly include LGBT characters.”
...I’m not denying this necesarrilly but whilst i’ve heard stories from poc who connected with Spider-Man I’ve never heard this about LGBTQ+ fans of Spider-Man.
“Indeed, perhaps the strongest part of Spider-Man’s inclusivity is the subtlety to which it has been done. While Black Panther, Black Lightning, and Wonder Woman rightly put issues of identity front and center, Spider-Man’s quiet diversity allows audiences who typically cry “SJWs are ruining my favorite characters” to actually see diversity showcased without it being overt.”
Errrrrrr...sure....*represses memories of when Miles Morales was first announced*
Lets um...wait and see what happens when those trans characters show up in the movie this year okay.

hi! Comics rec anon here! to answer your question, I'm not entirely new to comics, have read a few but not enough to say I have a specific type. The first series I read was all the jessica jones comics which I really liked, also the miles morales series which i enjoyed and the spidergwen series which was cute but the art was kinda annoying lol. i also like a couple of dc ones like mister miracle. so i think i prefer a general rec from you since the comics world is so big. thanks in advance!
Got it. Hmm… let’s see. It’s probably easiest to break it down by publisher then. I’ll try to give a mix of ongoing, finished, and “classic” stories.
Fair warning, I read a lot of comics (probably about 60 per month, and that’s not including manga), so even though this may feel like a long list, it’s short for me.
Marvel
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man - Relatively new series, and it’s been fantastic so far. Great art, and a bit more grounded than the Amazing Spider-Man run (which is also great). Stellar art, too.
Miles Morales: Spider-Man - A little YA-ish at times, but overall enjoyable. You get to see a lot more of Miles’ personality in this one, which is always fun.
Superior Spider-Man - Because nothing is more fun than seeing a semi-reformed Otto Octavius try to be a hero.
Captain Marvel - Kelly Thompson does a phenomenal job with this series. She has a great hold of Carol’s voice. Would highly recommend Kelly Sue Deconnick and Margaret Stohl’s previous runs to give context (Captain Marvel 2012-2017, Mighty Captain Marvel, and The Life of Captain Marvel).
Jessica Jones - Not sure if you’ve read Kelly Thompson’s recent run or just Bendis’, but hers is definitely worth a read.
Avengers (2019) - actually a solid run. I would check this out if you’re more into crossover, large-scale storytelling. They’re in the middle of War of the Realms, though… so maybe wait until like August or September?
Immortal Hulk, Daredevil, and X-23 - also good. I read them off and on (not really my fave characters to read on their own, I enjoy them in ensembles), but the stories are solid.
Rogue & Gambit - mini series that I absolutely love by Kelly Thompson (she does great character work) that came out last year. Mr. & Mrs. X is a follow-up to it and also tons of fun (nearing its end as well).
Runaways - I fell off of this when Brian K. Vaughn left, but I can say up through his run ended is well worth the read.
As far as classic stories, Infinity Gauntlet, The Dark Phoenix Saga, X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, Secret Invasion, and Secret Wars would be my first recommendations.
I would’ve recommended Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, but maybe wait on that. It’s about to end soon and transition to just Ghost Spider (where she leaves Earth-65 and comes to Earth-616 where Peter and Miles are). Same for X-Men. I’m currently reading Uncanny, but X-Men is about to be overhauled soon. So probably hold on that front.
DC/Vertigo
Honestly, not the biggest DC fan (I lean more towards Vertigo actually), but there are a few that I enjoy.
Action Comics (starting at #1000) - I am not a Superman fan, but I enjoy this series, which says a lot. I enjoy what Bendis is doing with him in this run.
Naomi - a new series, also by Bendis, following the story of a young Black girl who is investigating the circumstances around her adoption. Don’t want to give too much away, but probably my fave DC run at the moment. And Jamal Campbell’s art is fucking gorgeous.
Dial H for Hero - it’s fun. It’s weird. Not for everyone, but maybe give it a shot.
The Flash and Batman, New 52 runs - New 52 gets shit from fans a lot, but I thought these runs were awesome. Very good story-telling.
Dark Nights: Metal event - Probably one of the best things DC did in a long time. It’s a massive event that pretty much reworked the DC universe and all the characters. Enjoyed it immensely.
Heroes in Crisis - this miniseries ended very recently. It’s a story focused on a major event that happens at Sanctuary, a rehab for superheroes suffering from mental health issues (e.g. PTSD after doing something that nearly killed them). Not your usual superhero story, which I liked.
American Carnage - very gritty story focused on a white-passing Black man who infiltrates a white supremacist organization. It’s really fucking good.
High Level - I picked this book up randomly because the cover looked cool. I’ve been reading it ever since. I would say it’s weird sci-fi/fantasy/cyberpunk adventure. A little strong on the language, but very interesting story and great artwork.
Birds of Prey - awesome series with the DC women. A little shaky sometimes, but Gail Simone does really good character work. Her run is probably the only one I’d bother reading.
Deathbed - miniseries by Vertigo that ended maybe a year ago. It’s so bizarre and hilarious and out there. I loved it.
Batwoman (J.H. Williams run) and Batwoman: Rebirth - Kate Kane, my favorite lesbian superhero. Williams did a great job in his run (and the art is to die for). Don’t read the back half, they change writers and it’s a goddamn mess. But then Marguerite Bennett (a queer woman) picked it up in Rebirth, and it got awesome again. Also, shout-out to Greg Rucka for officially making her queerness canon in 52.
Wonder Woman - Wonder Woman’s my fave of DC main characters (along with Martian Manhunter and Wally West I & II), and my favorite run for her is Greg Rucka’s. He does a surprisingly good job of writing women. The run is over at the moment, but I’d check it out. Good stuff there.
For classic stories, Kingdom Come, Watchmen, Flashpoint (precursor to New 52), and Neil Gaiman’s Sandman are some of my faves.
Image
Image is probably what I read the most. Definitely has the most diverse pool of comics to choose from.
Saga - My favorite comic series of all-time. I’ve gotten so many people to read this and they love it. It’s weird - really weird, actually - but the storytelling is phenomenal. And it’s on hiatus right now, so plenty of time to get caught up.
Ice Cream Man - This series is so fucking weird, but I love it. It’s sorta like… Tales from the Crypt? Different stories (mostly horror) that all feature this demon ice cream man.
The Weatherman - This series is such a goddamn delight. I don’t want to ruin the plot but just… yeah. Read the first issue and it just goes crazy from there.
Man-Eaters - Sort of a niche story. Basically, this takes place in a society where when women get their cycle, they turn into giant cats and maul men, so they’ve given them pills to keep them from menstruating. Sounds weird? Wait until you read it. Probably a highlight series of the year for me.
Black Science - You might not like the art in this one, but maybe give it a shot? These scientists are trying to solve the problem of limited resources on Earth by hopping across dimensions for new ones (infinite dimensions, infinite resources). Only problem is, their machine got damaged so now they hop uncontrollably to whatever dimension it chooses for however long it decides. It’s a wild ride.
Middlewest - An interesting take on parent/child relationships and how the consequences of abuse, anger, and depression can manifest in dangerous ways. Sounds more bleak than it is - the story actually has quite a bit of humor.
Excellence - Very new series, but with a PoC lead, about PoCs, with mostly PoC creators. A story about a secret society of Black magicians and a son whose next in line to take on the mantle, and it’s pretty fucking cool. Issue 2 comes out this week - check it out!
The Walking Dead - I don’t think I have to explain this one, do I? Zombies.
Lazarus and Lazarus: Risen - Sci-fi story set in a dystopian society where the world is ruled by like 15 or so families, and they each have a Lazarus to fight for them. This is told from the perspective of the Carlyle family’s Lazarus, Forever.
Die - If Dungeons & Dragons and Jumanji had a baby, it would be this book. Sounds weird, but once you read it, you’ll find the description to be accurate.
Anything from Brian K. Vaughn - I have yet to read something from Brian K. Vaughn that I don’t like. Saga, Paper Girls, Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Barrier… his shit’s always good.
Independents / Not Marvel, DC, or Image
Some of these are nostalgia-based, so fair warning.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BOOM Studios) - very new series that’s out. Great art. If you were a fan of the show, I think you’ll like it. It’s a re-imagining of sorts. There’s also an Angel series that just started.
Nancy Drew (Dynamite) - Listen… I could not stand Nancy Drew as a kid. Never got into it and thought it was boring as hell. But I really loved this miniseries (another Kelly Thompson run). It’s maybe 5 issues?
Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and Go Go Power Rangers (BOOM Studios) - Honest to God, if you had told me 3 years ago one of my fave comics would be a Power Rangers one, I would have laughed in your face. Both of these series are really good and provide the continuity, nuance, and characterization the show lacked. Fan of the show or not, I’d say it’s worth checking out if you enjoy the teenage superhero genre. Also, just some really amazing art and world-building.
Anything from Jinxworld - This is Bendis’ own publishing company. He’s put out Cover, Pearl, Scarlet, and United States vs. Murder, Inc. All of them are really good.
Umbrella Academy (Dark Horse) - This is the series the Netflix show is based off of. Right now, they’re doing Hotel Oblivion in the comics, but start with Apocalypse Suite and Dallas.
So, there you go anon. There are FAR more I would recommend, but I tried to give a good range of books for you to choose from without (hopefully) overwhelming you. And if you have any questions, I’m more than happy to talk about any of them.

Hey, I’m interested in getting back in to some comics and hoping you can help/guide/advise. I used to read most of the Ultimate universe until Ultimatum, I got lost and couldn’t catch up again. I want to start with Spider-Gwen but also interested in Venom and what I need to know to understand MJ as Spinneret (spelling?). If you can’t help with this, thanks anyways and enjoyed reading your posts and thoughts here.
Okay.
Spider-Gwen: If you want the crash course and just wanna stick strictly to her solo book what you do is check out Edge of Spider-Verse #2 and then just understand that she then appeared in a big crossover with lots of AU Spider-People including Spider-Ham, Jessica Drew and Silk/Cindy Moon.
Then read Spider-Gwen Vol 1 and if you REALLY wanna go there, Spider-Verse Vol 2 which was part of Secret Wars. This features several Spider characters forming the Web Warriors team. You can then if you want check out Web Warriors #1 and the rest of that book if you want.
But that’s ONLY relevant if you wanna cover EVERYTHING Spider-Gwen. Really it’s relevant for just establishing Gwen is friends with AU Spider people, part of a team with them and has a device that allows her to dimension hop. This is important because it plays into certain events in her solo series beginning in Radioactive Spider-Gwen #1 (aka Spider-Gwen Volume 2 #1).
You can mostly read that series unto itself just checking in on certain issues of Spider Woman, Silk, Spider Women Alpha and Omega and Spider-Man (the Miles Morales title) whenever crossovers crop up. There are easily found checklists online and in the comics themselves detailing the reading order. She also appeared in Clone Conspiracy but I do not believe that impacted her solo book at all and you don’t have to read that because it sucks shit.
tl:dr: Edge of Spider-Verse #2, then you can mostly just follow volume 1 and 2 of her solo series.
With the Ultimate Universe fuck dude that’s huge I can’t help you. If you are talking Spider-Man specifically I think you can get away with just picking up Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man #1 reading all that up until the Death of Spider-Man, then go to Ultimate Fallout, then go over to UC: SM Volume 2 for Miles Morales. Read up to issue #10 then read the Spider-Men mini-series before continuing with the main book. When you are done with that switch to Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man and read that series it ends leading into Secret Wars.
You can check out some issues of the main Secret Wars 2015 mini-series as well as all of Ultimate End to see Miles’ adventures during Secret Wars and the wrap up to the Ultimate Universe.
If you STILL wanna follow Miles then you pick up Spider-Man #1 from 2016 and follow that up until issue #240.
Then you read Spider-Men II which resolves stuff from Spider-Men I and also has the actual final word on the Ultimate Universe.
Continue on with Miles’ solo book from issue #241 onwards up until the present and Miles will be getting a new solo book very soon.
Miles’ solo book has tie-in issues to various events like Cataclysm, Civil War II, Secret Empire and he also appears in All-New All Different Avengers and the Champions book as a regular member but these are not strictly neccesary.
tl:dr: Ultimate Comics Spider-Man>Ult Comics: Spider-Man Vol 2>Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man>Spider-Man 2016
Spinneret is way easier.
Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows Volume 1 #1-5>ASM: RYV Volume 2 #1-23
She might also appear in Spider-Geddon but we don’t know for sure yet

Due to an influx of Spider-men, Doctor Strange called together a meeting of the multiversal travelers to try and find a way to send them home. Instead of finding a solution, the newly formed Sinister Syndicate attacked. Everyone made it out, but answers still need to be found.
PLEASE NOTE: This chat happened before the canon reset.
THIS IS THE OFFICIAL CHAT LOG COVERAGE OF THE IC
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): "Looks like everyone is here. Or at least, let's hope- there could more of you popping up and it's just going to keep getting more and more crowded in here." Strange wasn't even trying to hide his annoyance tonight- made obvious by his drawn out sigh before he continued speaking to the gaggle of spider-people. He motioned to the lot of them. "This here- this is a problem. The fact that all of you are standing in the same room, in the same universe, should scare you. It certainly doesn't make me feel bubbly inside. The multiverse is vast, and it's not as resilient as you may think it is. The connection to each reality is complicated. Intricate. And we know very, very little about it. So, we cannot act like this phenomenon is normal. Aside from the problems with the multiverse this brings up, it's not also causing an increase in crime here. The Sinister Syndicate is connected to this, that I'm sure of. And it's all creating a bit of a mess. A mess that I have been unfortunately tangled up in."
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy resisted the urge to kick her foot around aimlessly as she stood next to Miles, raising an eyebrow at Strange's words before she awkwardly held a hand up to speak. "Excuse me, yes-- hi. You're not like... blaming us for all of this, are you? Because last I checked this was S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mess."
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Peter hadn’t yet been acquainted with all of the others in the room, but a few familiar faces provided him with an ounce of comfort. Giving Gwen an awkward wave, his gaze flicked between her and the multitude of other Peters. Other hims. “Jesus, this is weird.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): In truth he was a little perplexed to see so many versions of himself in one space…something about the whole experience still felt too surreal. Like someone was going to pinch him any moment now and wake him up. That wasn’t happening though, and by the looks of the wizard man—he was super not happy about that. Lowering himself from a single strain of webbing from the ceiling, he spun slowly around until he faced strange again. “what exactly is the plan oh wise one? —cause i’m hearing a lot of doom and gloom and not a lot of ways to fix it.” not that he was trying to go back to a universe where gwen was dead. that was very much not on his list of things to do. ever.
JESSICA DREW 1 (616): “Why do I feel like the only adult in a room full of overgrown spider children?” Jess asked, propped up against the back wall with one ankle crossed over the other. “This is 1-2-3-4-5 more Peter’s than I want on a typical day. Are we counting you?” She turned to the other Jess.
JESSICA DREW 2 (ULTIMATE): Jessica shrugged. “I don’t know. Which way are the clones leaning here?”
GWEN STACY 1 (65): Although she had her mask on, Gwen’s hood was resting around her shoulders. The pink and white eye slits had remained wide for the majority of the conversations start. Spider-man, Spider-man, Spider-man, Jessica Drew x2? She knew hers but not the others. “Hey, quick q.” She waved a hand. “You guys are all Peter, right? Except for Miles. There’s not, like, secret other Spider-men hiding here?”
KAINE PAKER (616): Kaine was stuck to the wall in a squat, soles of his feet and back flat against the brick as he crossed his arms. he was out of the way, just out of eyeline unless you looked up. He narrowed his eyes beneath his mask as one of the other spiders spoke from a strain of web stuck to the ceiling. why was every one of them in some kind of red and blue variation?
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): Strange, once again, sighed. "I am aware that petite girls with spider-powers can't fracture holes between universes. I'm also aware that this is a group that can be.. tiring. And the plan is to find a way to send you all home." He took a moment to compose himself, straighten up, reel back the emotion etched into his face."This problem is also tied to the Reality Stone- which is dangerous, but we've dealt with it before. The best solution is to send everyone back to the universe they belong in."
EDDIE BROCK (SONY): “No. No. No. Absolutely not,” Eddie clutched at the door frame with more force he thought he’d be able to muster. But Venom was much stronger. Obviously. YES, Eddie. We were invited! We have to show up. You don’t want to be rude, do you?? “You just— “ readjusting his grip on the Sanctum door, Venom took control of his legs and forced the duo forward, “- want to eat that Parker kid! Don’t try to pretend you’re just being— ugh- polite!” His knees locked and the sudden jerk of movement sent him sprawling forward, landing flat on his face. Venom materialized from his back and addressed anyone that happened to be looking, ”Hellooo.”
BEN REILLY (616): “well, some of us don’t go by peter.” Ben spoke up to the girl in the white hood. “Genetically…we’re the same but I go by Ben Reilly…. for this exact reason, actually.”
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles couldn't help but flinch and the sudden deep, raspy voice that materialized in a symbiote hanging behind the man's back as his eyes widened. "Oh wow. Okay. That's what's happening here today."
ANDI BENTON (616): “Amateurs.” Bubble gum popping between pierced lips, Andi stepped over Eddie with thick combat boots. She nearly clipped his head but managed to hit the ground instead. The two had walked there together; Eddie and Venom had done nothing but bicker while Andi and Silence found themselves in a companionable -- get ready for the pun -- silence. “We’re not all like this.” She clarified as heavily lined eyes glanced downwards. Silence rippled from her back as the Symbiote made itself known. Not at all. We also don’t want to eat you. Not at all.
GWEN STACY 1 (65): When the symbiotes appeared, Gwen’s own suit begin to wiggle and wraith. She flicked a spider off of her sleeve and shivered slightly. “Hate those guys,” the words were muttered to Miles, who was on her right. “I think we need a roundoff or something. Like, a roll call. I don’t recognize all of you and I’ve traveled the multiverse a few times.”
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): Awkward. This was really, really awkward. Peter positioned himself off to the side of the crowd, too anxious to say much of anything yet. This was his universe. He belonged here. That was the plain and simple truth, and if he were like Doctor Strange that would be the only thing that mattered. But it wasn't that simple. This was home but it felt far from it. Peter was alone, disconnected. He was surrounded by a swarm of people who were just like him and yet he had never felt less understood in his life. Stephen didn't know him anymore. He was 'Peter' but he wasn't the Peter that saved the universe with him, not anymore. He tried to listen the best he could as people around him threw comments out here and there. There were black gooey aliens and people with suits who weren't named Peter. It was an interesting crowd.
CINDY MOON (616): Frowning at Strange calling her petite, Cindy tried not to let herself be too offended as she slowly started to shake her head. "I'm Silk." She settled on, awkwardly waving a hand as an introduction.
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles glanced at Gwen and grimaced at her flicking a spider off of herself before snorting softly under his breath at her comment. "Agreed."
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): "If that will make this go faster, be my guest. I'll just be here, thinking of ways to stop the universe from collapsing." Strange paced slowly on the balcony above the crowd as they started introducing themselves, cape sweeping dramatically to the side as he moved.
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): "What is this, Spider-People anonymous? Why the hell am I even here?"
GWEN STACY 1 (65): “Ghost Spider.” Gwen waved a gloved hand. “Gwen Stacy. It’s not a secret.”
EDDIE BROCK (SONY): Eddie stood up, dusting himself off, “I— shouldn’t even be here, just - ignore me. Sorry all.” Venom still hovered above his shoulder, definitely not licking his lips as he took in the scene, “We are Venom. This loser is Eddie.” Eddie scowled but offered up an awkward wave.
PETER PARKER 5 (GAMEVERSE): "I'm Peter. Parker." He raised a hand and waved, a motion that was very robotic in nature. "Shocking, I know."
PETER 4 (616): “Me— me too.” Peter spoke up as well, “I… I don’t know what else to add if I’m being honest.”
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): Although not a team player or someone who liked group activities, the Wizard had been pretty firm that attendance was mandatory. Felicia had met her other self but cared little for the other woman. She was young enough to still be caught up in the shiny things and she loved whatever sparkled. The meeting had been spent with her barely paying attention, eyes trained on the exposed claws of her glove. She found herself loitering near a shorter Spider-man, silent with his mask on. “Let me guess, you’re the good looking one under the mask? Definitely the social one.” The earned a laugh from herself. One nail trailed down the curve of his shoulder as she leaned closer. “Felicia Hardy. And you, I’m going to say, are Peter #1. Blink once if your name isn’t Peter.”
MARY JANE WATSON (616): “Mary Jane Watson.” MJ basically leaned over Peter to introduce herself. “The one that belongs to this one,” she jutted her thumb at her boyfriend. “Well, not belongs to. You get it.”
PETER PARKER 2 (RAIMI): “See, guys, now this is productive.” Dressed casually in a light coat, t-shirt and jeans, Peter stood out with his casual youth pastor vibe instead of suited up Spider-man aesthetic. “I’ll be Peter #2,” he announced graciously before turning to the Peter who had just spoken. He knew that Peter decently well at this point following their shared adventure. “How about you, bud? Be Peter #3?”
PETER PARKER 4 (616): “Not gonna pretend being Peter #4 doesn’t hurt my feelings a little, but I’m okay. I’ll get over it,” Peter teased, reaching to intertwine his gloved hand with MJ’s.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): Seated quietly while her boyfriend (?) dangled from the ceiling, Gwen watched the other Gwen introduce herself with only mild alarm. “I’m also Gwen Stacy.” She shifted in her seat. “Not this one. I’m -- I’m the dead one.”
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): It would have been easy to chime up and let everyone know that he was the Peter who belonged to this universe. He was sure everyone was wondering. But he kept quiet, listening to his name bounce around the room between voices that weren't his until he was distracted by a claw gently tracing his shoulder through his suit. It sent a slight shiver down his spine, and he turned to the person the claw belonged too with the white eyes of his suit widened. "Peter #1?" She couldn't have known, but the nickname brought up a sense of familiarity that he had missed. He made a point not to blink, but was still feeling cautious (but also intrigued). "What makes you say that?"
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): A smile produced beneath his mask—no, a grin. “yeah, i’ll be peter 3.” he nodded between the two of them.  “it’s nice to see some familiar faces…no pun intended.” he immediately cringed at his own joke.
PETER PARKER 2 (RAIMI): Because his mask was not on, Peter’s smile was visible. “Guess all these masks are a good way to avoid having to judge who’s the best looking, huh?”
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles held up a hand and tried his best to wait until he wasn't interrupting to introduce himself. "I'm Miles. Definitely not another Peter, but also Spider-Man. Confusing, I know." He figured it wasn't a huge deal to give his first name to a bunch of fellow spiders, but he was cautious to leave his mask on. He couldn't help but to glance at his Gwen when the "dead" one spoke up. "Yeah, this is weird." He mumbled quietly.
PETER 3 (TASM): Peter’s head snapped around and he spun to look between Gwen and….Spider Gwen. Woah. “cool suit.” he muttered. “I dig the hood.” he tried not to physically cringe as Gwen said I’m the dead one, but he was unsuccessful as he went silent.
ANDI BENTON (616): “And we’re Silence.” The symbiote bobbed next to Andi’s head. “Well, she is. I’m Andi. Like Eddie, we’re not from here. I want to get the fuck home. What I’m trying to figure out is if we’re trapped because of you idiots.”
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): Felicia was standing next to MJ and Peter from her universe, and she couldn't help but scowl at the younger version of herself as she watched her practically throw herself onto the smaller Spider-Man. It wasn't like she could exactly talk, but it was still irritating to watch. Did she really look that ridiculous when she was younger? "I'm surprised he let you come." She commented, trying to focus her attention somewhere else as she spoke to MJ. FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): One leather clad shoulder shrugged. “Someone had to be. Why not you? Besides, I like you. You’re not being annoying like the others; just wanting to hear themselves talk.” He seemed nervous. Or, was it uncomfortable? Felicia didn’t know but wanted to find out. “Eenie meenie miney mo,” she pointed around the room. “Catch a Peter Parker by the toe. It’s a simple deduction.” Still close to him, white hair brushed his side. “So, tell me, am I right or am I right?”
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Peter let out a slight scoff/exhale in amusement, “Let her come? Oh man, you really shouldn’t have said that.”
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): emerald eyes taking in the scene before her , head nearly spinning at all of the information being presented , annie's eyes followed each voice of the various Peter Parker’s introducing themselves then her focus shifted to the partners of each version of her father. Confusion evident on her face, Annie tried her best to potion herself against the far wall of the over crowded area hoping that if she tried hard enough she would wake up back in her bedroom and this would be nothing but a nightmare she could one day laugh about.
MARY JANE WATSON (616): Picking up on Felicia’s voice, Mary Jane turned to look at her. “Hi, Felicia.” Her tone remained polite. “He didn’t want me to come. We both know that Peter didn’t have a choice. Am I seeing double, or is there a tiny you assaulting that poor little Spider guy over there?”
EDDIE BROCK (SONY): “You’re not idiots, only Eddie’s the idiot,” Venom let out a deep bark of a laugh as Eddie buried his face in his hands, “Unless you’re anything like Eddie, then you’re an idiot.”
GWEN STACY 1 (65): Spotting Annie, Gwen squeezed Miles’ shoulder before standing and moving across the room. “Long way from home, huh?” She sat beside her.
JESSICA DREW 1 (616): “You’re both idiots.” Jessica pointed at Eddie and Venom. “Both of you. And the Silence chick is giving me bad vibes. Why are the symbiotes here? Gwen excluded.” WADE WILSON (616): wade whistled the tune to the song that was stuck in his head, swinging both arms as he bounced his uninvited ass into the spider party. did they really think he was gonna miss an opportunity to see this shit show? “sweet jiminy fucking christmas this isn’t the bathroom…” wade gasped and removed an earphone blasting WAP. there were…one..two..three..four— too many to count “wow.” he breathed, taking a good look at each of them. “don’t take this as a compliment but you guys look like a comic-con.—right down to the body odor and raging hormones.”
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): Disconnection shifted into the feeling of curiosity- a new connection. Peter couldn't get a read on this Felicia, but at the moment she was a welcome distraction. "Those guys aren't so bad you know. But, I admit, we can be a little much." A moment later, he pulled off his mask and let out a soft huff of laughter. "Right now, it doesn't really feel like it matters which Peter I am."
TIANA TOOMES (616): Sighing, Tiana leaned back in her seat. “If y’all don’t want to hear what I have to say about the Syndicate, I’m out.”
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Peter let out an awkward chuckle and reached his free hand up to scratch at the back of his neck. “Is anyone else kind of warm? It’s getting way too hot in here —“ removing his mask in one swift, but clunky movement, Peter sucked in a deep breath, “— oh god, so much better.”
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): Felicia smirked at MJ's uncomfortableness, trying her best to remind herself that it wasn't nice to be smug. The smirk faded pretty quickly though at the mention of the other her as she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Unfortunately that's exactly what that is. Although, by the looks of it it doesn't look like he hates it. I guess all Peter Parker's aren't so different after all."
BEN REILLY (616): Ben took his mask off too “yeah, I’m not sure why all of us showed up masked…it’s not like it’s a giant secret.”
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): "What the f-" Strange whipped around as the door to the Sanctum opened and another red-cladded idiot walked in. "Spider-Man uses katanas now? That doesn't seem right, who the hell are you?"
EDDIE BROCK (SONY): “We we’re invited, madam!” Venom lunged at Jessica, extending further away from Eddie’s shoulder. “Hey! Get back here, asshole. You we’re the one just harping on me about being polite.”
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles' eyes widened at Tiana's words as he gently grabbed her hand, almost as a preemptive measure in case she tried to leave. "We'll get to it, I promise. There's just.." He trailed off at the sight of a man in a red suit with giant katanas along his back. JESSICA DREW 2 (1610): Tugging her mask off, Jess shrugged at Ben’s words. “Years of being hunted and vilified?”
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): gaze shifting to the woman who spoke to her , Gwen she remembered her introducing at the start of this whole mess. "Very." Pulling at the edge of her shaw nervously, "I'm Annie, Annie Parker." She introduced herself , offering the blonde a kind smile. "This is crazy right , like this cant be real."
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy opted to keep her mask on for the moment, frowning at the sight of the man in red as she furrowed her brows at him. "Is that Cardi B?"
JESSICA DREW 1 (616): “No you do not, sir.” Green crackled around Jessica’s fist as she held it up in case he came closer. “Jesus. This just got worse.”
WADE WILSON (616): “you bet your webbed ass it is. wanna listen?” wade offered her the other earphone. GWEN STACY 1 (65): Smiling back, Gwen tugged off her mask and shook out blonde waves. “Like I said, Gwen Stacy. You’re not a variant of Mary Jane, are you? I’m asking because of the red hair.”
BEN REILLY (616): “hmm, yeah something like that. you can’t always trust your own clone anyway.” Ben shot a little glance over to Kaine. MARY JANE WATSON (616): “Awe, there you are.” MJ briefly patted Peter’s cheek. “I don’t know who other you is talking to,” she admitted. “He looks like a Peter? What reality, though?” Did he have an MJ?
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy hesitated for a moment, honestly tempted, but then she heard mention of the Syndicate. "I should probably go hear what that's about, but nice taste." She offered a masked smile before heading towards Miles, Tiana, and Strange. JESSICA DREW 2 (1610): “Well, it’s also rough to be cloned from Peter Parker. Mine’s been dead a long time.” TIANA TOOMES (616): “Just utter chaos?” Tiana’s hand instinctively closed around Mile’s. “This isn’t my crowd, y’know? How many of these guys have put my grandpa away? I’m here to help, not socialize.” FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): Felicia rolled her eyes at Mary Jane's words, shrugging slightly. Maybe it helped her narrative if that was a Peter, but MJ was right. They didn't know, and that one in particular was staying fairly quiet. "What he looks like is small."
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): Shaking her head Annie's smile immediately fell, "No, Mary Jane's my mom." fear began to replace the feeling of overwhelming confustion as the reality of the situation they were in began to set.
BEN REILLY (616): “I didn’t realize it was so popular.” ben sounded half amused. “How did he die?”
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): Noticing Peter had gone silent, Gwen craned her neck upwards to look at him. “Your hair looks wild, you know. You should come down.”
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): "I know. I really appreciate you coming, though. And I know they will when everyone settles down and gets through with introductions." Miles insisted, slowly tugging his mask off, since mostly everyone else already had. It felt like a safe space, at least. His attention turned to Strange for a moment, and then back to Tiana as he waited for what she had to say.
MARY JANE WATSON (616): “Were you that little, Peter?” MJ asked. “Also, do you know that kid?”
JESSICA DREW 2 (1610): “Well, there’s three of us here but I came from a batch. It didn’t go well.” As a rule of thumb, Jess tried not to linger on her failed siblings. “He, uh, he died fighting the Green Goblin. It was terrible. Everyone saw.”
GWEN STACY 1 (65): “Mom? Holy shit. That’s cool. I didn’t realize there was a Peter/MJ offspring. They’re not here, are they?”
TIANA TOOMES (616): She arched a brow. “I think we’re past intro and straight into meme. First time I’ve ever seen a meme come to life.” Tiana wasn’t impressed. Pausing when Miles took off his mask, Tiana eventually sighed before unclipping her visor. “They asked me to be in the Syndicate.”
PETER PARKER 2 (TASM): Peter looked down at Gwen as she spoke, he felt a twinge of…what was it, shock? joy? every time he looked at her…all of it laced with a guilt he’d never shake. he didn’t need it voiced that she’d died or that he’d failed, it was always in the back of his head. always. Peter lowered himself and shook his hair at her, gently brushing her face with it before he flipped around and dropped to the ground. “oof, I probably shouldn’t have been up there that long.” he gave her a lopsided smile.
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): “Mhm.” She hummed before pinching two fingers together. “Maybe just a little. Hips swayed as she crossed to the other side of him, light eyes dissecting the room. “The more masks come up, the more I decide that I like your face most. And now, because you’re filling my time, it matters to me which Peter you are. Where’re you from?”
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): " Nope , and I have no clue why I am. " Focus shifting momentarily from the kind blonde woman to the man who seemed to have the most knowledge on their current predicament, Annie finally spoke up, "Hey Dumbledore, is there any rhyme or reason to who is here and why? "
BEN REILLY (616): “oh.” ben said. “I’m sorry.” he’d died a couple times himself. you win some you lose some.
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): "And I'm to assume that means you declined?" Strange asked as he landed in front of her. "Did you learn anything about what they want?"
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles shouldn't have been surprised by that, given who Tiana's grandfather was, but it was still something that made his stomach twist into knots when he thought about it. He knew she wouldn't accept the offer though. Right? He anxiously waited for her to answer Strange's question, tilting his head as he thought about the fact that at some point he'd probably run into these six (seven?) women who most likely wanted to kill him.
PETER 4 (616): Peter eyed the teen in question, “Maybe? I don’t know. Would it be too on the nose to say he looks familiar?” A sheepish grin interrupted his words before he turned back to MJ, “Man, I’m sorry you got sucked into this mess, but I’m so glad you’re here too. I don’t know what I’d do without you, MJ.”
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): Felicia's eyes slowly trained towards the wall as she spotted another Spider-Person who had yet to take his mask off. His suit was different, a black and red variation of the typical suit. The cat slowly trailed off from her Peter and MJ and leaned up on the wall next to the mysterious spider. "You're awfully quiet. Is it too on the nose to say cat got your tongue?" She smirked.
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): "Queens." Peter's reply was automatic as he watched Felicia slowly cross in front of him. He kept his eyes on her until he opened his mouth again, fumbling a bit on his words and fiddling with his edges of his mask in his hands. There was the smallest blush washing over his cheeks as he flicked his gaze to the floor. "This Queens, I mean. I'm the Peter that actually belongs here. In this reality. So if that makes me Peter #1 I guess you were right." When he looked back to her, one corner of his mouth pulled gently into a smile- one that barely trapped the loneliness inside him. "Where are you from?"
EDDIE BROCK (SONY): Venom dissolved back beneath Eddie’s skin, suddenly very bored. “Hey—! Coward,” Eddie muttered under his breath, also feeling overwhelmingly exposed now that the voice in his head - his roommate, if you will - decided to stop talking.
KAINE PARKER (616): He’d been a little occupied observing them all. It was pretty clear which handful of those in the room weren’t peter parker varients or clones—just spider powered. Well, with the exception of two snowy haired women in cat suits; Black Cat he was fairly certain was the title—she was usually too busy chasing around the original to cross his path in his universe. Who could blame her, he had enough scars on his face he’d probably get mistaken for a wade wilson variant before peter parker’s clone. “nice kitty, some of us are venomous.” despite the warning his tone mirrored hers more than anything.
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): Noted. Felicia kept her hands to herself as she kept her smirk and tilted her head in amusement at the suited man. It was better than sitting there and watching a younger version of herself. "Literally or metaphorically? You don't look so scary to me. Maybe a little jaded, but.." Her shoulders shrugged.
KAINE PARKER (616): “Bit of both.” he answered honestly. “Masks can be deceiving.” He may have been cured of the fucked up spider deformities but he still had all the scarring and two red eyes to change her mind. Not that he planned on removing the mask to prove any of that. “Tell me, what’s a cat doing in a spiders wbb?”
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): "That's why I opt for the goggles," Felicia teased, although she was intrigued. It sounded like there was a lot more to this than this dude was letting on, but she knew better than to push too much too quickly. She shrugged at the question, honestly wondering the answer to that herself as she glanced around the room. "Something about a multiversal crisis. Your bets as good as mine."
GWEN STACY 1 (65): Well, that was weird. Gwen had a few questions, but the girl pivoted to talk to Strange. She once again moved to drift around the room, this time ending up next to Peter and MJ. “You guys are gross. Also, I want to talk about the Peter with the other Felicia. He’s Peter Parker and I ran into him the other day when he was volunteering for F.E.A.S.T. Does that mean he’s from here?”
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “You were making a statement.” Gwen’s nose scrunched as his hair brushed her face. “I can see why you’d want to when surrounded by these guys. You’re Peter #3. That one guy -- Peter #2 -- he seemed to know you. Have you met?”
JESSICA DREW (1610): “Yeah, well, I don’t think I exist anymore.” Jess scoffed. “My reality collapsed. Some ended up here but I didn’t. I didn’t come to until last week. It’s nice to know that the universe hates me so much that it ate me.”
TIANA TOOMES (616): “Of course I declined. I’m not my grandfather. Maybe the Vulture wants to play with that shit, but I don’t. Besides, Lily Hollister is involved and she’s never been any good. She’s got claws in Harry Osborn and she’s unstable.”
MARY JANE WATSON (616): Smiling softly, MJ knocked his shoulder with her own. “You know that I would never let you get into a mess like this without me. Where would the fun be?” Then, Gwen was talking to Peter and Mary Jane was trying to not feel the aching sorrow at the sight of her. She scanned the crowd instead, noticing a girl with red hair and bright eyes. “Hey,” she elbowed Peter. “Does she look familiar?”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): Peter’s gaze was all over the place yet again, and the situation, the crowd full of Peters and Jessicas and Gwens all taking over each other was quickly becoming too much, “I uh— I think so, yeah.” He addressed Gwen without much more of an explanation. Eyes locking onto the other unknown girl a moment later, Peter couldn’t help but linger a bit longer on her. There was something familiar. Eerily familiar. But he couldn’t place it. “What did she say her name was again?”
FELICIA HARDY 1 (MCU): “Okay, Queens.” She drew the word out into an elongated purr. He was kind of cute, actually. A little timid but that could be broken and confidence could be taught. His next words caused her to arch her brows as she leaned in conspiratorially. “You’re Spider-man? The web headed menace that Jameson hates? Wow, you’re the most popular man in the city.” There was something in him that she could sense, something that Felicia felt in herself. She was bravado and allure, sure, but she still felt a void burrowed in the hollow of her chest. “Queens. Flushing, specifically. Biggest borough, best borough.”
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles realistically knew that Tiana would never accept an offer like that, but it was still refreshing to hear that she declined. "Do you know what they want?"
KAINE PARKER (616): Kaine smirked under his mask. “I don’t think they’d look as good on me.” he said. Pushing off the wall, he dropped to the floor next to her. “So, if you’re not a Parker Variant or a Spider…how do you know Spider-Man?” was she another girlfriend like the MJ’s and Gwen’s? There were two of her it seemed.
GWEN STACY 1 (65): “---Uh.” Gwen looked from Peter and MJ to Annie and back again. She did *not* want to be any kind of messenger. “Annie Parker. Her name is Annie.”
PETER 3 (TASM): “Yeah—when I first got here, he was the first Peter Parker variant I met. And Peter one is this universes Peter—that one.” Peter nodded to the kid over by the …uh, cat girl? Where was his girlfriend? “They both have an MJ, not a Gwen. I guess your alternate is a spider.” he smiled a little. That fit her to him.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “He looks old.” Gwen mused. “Not in a bad way. It works.” Peter looked older, too. That was hard to swallow. She turned to look at the younger Peter. “I thought people couldn’t figure out where that one came from?” That’s what they had said, at least. “So, I’m the special one? Or the outlier?”
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): "I'd dare you to take the mask off and see, but you seem secretive." Felicia shrugged, continuing to smirk as she shrugged at his question, her claws out and about as she waved her hand. "I guess you can call me a friend of Spider-Man." That was one way of putting it.
KAINE PARKER (616): “Use your imagination.” he shrugged and stepped around her. He was mindlessly fidgeting more than anything, more restlessness than nerves. “A friend.” he repeated. “Peter doesn’t have a lot of friends.” it felt odd to use his name in the presence of someone else but the…cat was out of the bag so to speak.
TIANA TOOMES (616): Glad that she was receiving some attention now, Tiana shook her head. “Kinda? They’re mad about Pleasant Hill, about men. Honestly, I don’t blame them on the second part. They’re just too extreme. They want attention and to make a scene.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): Peter scoffed but then made a face—he felt bad. “Not old…just…wise?” his voice went up half an octave. “You’re special to me.” His face grew a bit serious now, brown eyes leveling with hers. “If you’re smarter than me that means you’re smarter than most of these guys.” he wagged a finger around. “or, wait. Who was first at midtown again? was it me or you, i can never remember, i think it was me—” he’s teasing her again.
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy couldn't help but to intervene, a frown underneath her mask. "What do you mean by extreme?"
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles sighed, shaking his head a bit as he nodded at Tiana's words. "I can't blame them either. But.. we didn't cause Pleasant Hill. They have to understand that, right?"
TIANA TOOMES (616): The vigilante scoffed. “They’re psychiatric inmates. You think that they care?” The answer was a glaring *no*. “Extreme as in they want to kill Spider-man. Now, it looks like they have an extra challenge and seem extra up for it.”
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “Wise? Okay, okay. What about you? You wise yet?” Gwen asked, the ghost of a smile pulling up the corners of her lips. It flattened quickly at his next words, hands grasping at nothing as she fidgeted. “You’ve always been special to me, Peter Parker. You know that.” She’d always love him. Always. “No, no, no. It was me. I’m pretty sure it was me. You were close, just not close enough.”
WANDA MAXIMOFF (MCU): She wasn’t running late. Wanda had a million things to do and spells to cast. Stephen had asked her to look into the multiversal rifts -- and she had. Wanda had gotten lost staring into the void with her legs crossed as she meditated. The spider heroes kept getting pulled into the reality but she couldn’t pinpoint why. Realizing how much time she had spent, the Witch flew to the Sanctorum and let herself in. “I’m sorry,” she looked around the red and blue clad crowd. “You haven’t sent a single one back yet?”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): “Oof. is that your way of telling me I look old? Ouch.” he flattened a hand against his abdomen as he feigned injury. “I’m—I’m workin’ on it.” again his voice got higher. “Special.” he repeated. “I’m special?” he pointed to himself. “The universe’s got peter parkers falling out of the sky, I’m not special.” he shook his head. “Thanks though.” he couldn’t help but brush a gloved finger over her nose. she had the cutest nose. “it was you, you’re right. it was definitely you…i liked your speech by the way.” his voice grew soft. “i never did get to tell you that.”
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): "Yeah, that's me. Being popular in just this city is enough, believe me." His tone was tinged with a bitter edge. "You know, I'd like to say that Jameson might change his tune if he knew he was harassing a teenager but- I don't think he would." In fact, he knew he wouldn't- but that was a conversation for later. When Felicia leaned in he didn't back away. His heart might have picked up a little speed as she got closer, but she didn't need to know that. "I just got my own place recently, so uh- who knows. Maybe we're neighbors or something. Weirder things have happened."
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “I mean, objectively, you look older than high school. I like it. Your hair is --” she made an expanding motion with both hands. “Bigger. Scruffier. It works. It really does.” At his question, she began to nod. “Yeah, you. You’re special. All these Peter’s and all these MJ’s and you’ve got me. Maybe that makes us both special.” Her nose once again scrunched as it was was briefly covered by his gloved thumb. “My speech? You listened to -- you listened to my speech? I’m glad. It was a good speech. I know I gave it for everyone, but it was for you. I wanted you to know that. I hope you listened.”
STEPHEN STRANGE (616): "Finally." Stephen started moving at a brisk walk as soon as the doors opened and met Wanda halfway. His face scrunches together in frustration at her question. "No, I haven't. They decided it was time for a share circle and I tried to get some information about the Syndicate in the meantime."
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): “You got your own place?” That piqued her interest. “I’ll have to stop by, see if there’s anything of value. I’m from here too, you know. They’re sending the other me back.” She jutted a thumb towards the other Felicia and whoever she was talking to. “You know, I told you my name. Keep that between us. Unless we’re in your place, it’s Black Cat.”
WANDA MAXIMOFF (MCU): Wanda continued to walk past him, glancing over her shoulder as she passed by. “Don’t tell me to look into the Rifts and then get upset because it takes so long to look into the Rifts, Stephen.” She chided. “The Syndicate can be resolved far easier than the presence of all these travelers. I think I have the spell, but I need you and Wong to check it. The Darkhold has been... tempestuous, as of late.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): Without really thinking about it he reached out and tugged her toward him. In part because it made him feel like she was real and also maybe because it was easier to convince himself it couldn’t happen again if she was in his arms. “I…tried.” He didn’t want to lie. It was…difficult, some days it felt impossible. He was far from perfect and he knew he could be better but he tried. Being Spider-Man was never the hard part…being Peter Parker was a different story. Easier just to not have time for that.
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): "Yup," Felicia's lips hung onto the 'p' sound as she leaned back against the wall and shrugged softly. Her eyes caught another glance of her mini me and the younger Spider-Man and she couldn't help but feel a slight twinge of jealousy. She remembered how it felt when she'd first met Peter; the short-lived love affair before he got together with MJ. Part of her would always love him, but she'd gotten over the heartbreak for the most part. She'd grown and evolved, and there were other priorities in her life than hopelessly pining over Peter Parker. But she wasn't going to tell this complete stranger any of that. "Don't get me wrong, by definition I'm a criminal. But occasionally I team up with him when it's necessary."
BEN REILLY (616): “It…ate you?” ben asked. “where were you if your reality collapsed but you werent here?” he asked.
CINDY MOON (616): "Just Spider-Man?" Cindy clarified, frowning as she remembered Saya's words the other day. She wasn't sure if she was necessarily included in that, but she wouldn't doubt it.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): Relenting without dissent, Gwen allowed herself to be pulled near to Peter so that chest brushed against chest. “You tried.” She repeated. “Peter.” The concern was evident in her tone. But what was she going to do? Publicly chastise him? No. She just sighed instead. “At least you tried. Now, you can try harder.”
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): "Wonderful- because that's what we need. Tempestuous spellbooks while the multiverse is at risk." Wanda walked past him and he quickly spun around to follow her. "Wong thinks I'm going to burn the Sanctum down every time he leaves- I have a feeling he'll tell us to stop before we eve get started, no matter how good the spell is."
PETER PARKER 2 (RAIMI): Everyone was coupling up. Peter enjoyed seeing it. Sure, he missed his own MJ but that situation was complicated. He opted to flash Peter #3 a quick thumbs up before sticking his hands in his pocket.
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Peter snapped out of whatever thought cloud he’d been stuck in for the past few minutes and took notice of the newest presence in the Sanctum. The redhead chatting with Strange seemed familiar as well, but Peter couldn’t help but feel a dark, heavy energy wafting off of her. It was kind of terrifying, but something in his gut told him she could be trusted, that she was here to help, not make things worse.
WANDA MAXIMOFF (MCU): Tsking, scarlet flared at Wanda’s fingertips as she conjured the book. “All this judgement, but I don’t see you coming up with solutions.” The two spell casters worked together but differed in methodology. Stephen was arrogant, Wanda was a domestic terrorist. “I would rather burn down the Sanctorum than the multiverse. In this case, we will rely on you alone.” Red glyphs hovered above the page as she waved a hand. “A banishing spell, of sorts.”
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): Annie looked up at the Peter before her and offered him a shy smile, "this is sooo weird" out stretching her hand she figured it best to just be honest. "In another timeline, I'm your daughter."
MARY JANE WATSON (616): “Daughter?” Mary Jane deadpanned, even though the girl hadn’t spoken to her.
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Peter blinked, attention violently yanked back toward the girl in front of him, “I- you— what?”
KAINE PARKER (616): “He does have a habit of picking up strays.” he mused, glancing at the room full of the man he’d been cloned from. He’d spent a great deal of the beginning of his existence in agony and therefore out of his mind, but Peter was right there at the end of it convincing him he could do better. Be better. Some days he believed it. Others, he knew better. His eyes followed hers before they pinned the younger Spider-Man and what looked like a younger version of her. “Friends, you said?” the smirk was evident in his tone.
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): Offering the woman before a sympathetic shrug she continued, "I know trippy right" focus drifting back to Gwen she nodded a small thank you. This whole thing was doing her head but Gwen's friendly presence was a small comfort among the chaos
MARY JANE WATSON (616): Huh. “We make a cute kid?” Mary Jane looked to Peter.
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): At the sound of his name and the disappointment in his tone his brown eyes snapped to hers. Firm, but lively and bright. As she went on he planted a soft kiss to her forehead. He blinked away the image of her at the bottom of the clock tower as he nodded against her hair. “Whatever you say, boss.” a gentle, half hearted tease.
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): "Value? In my apartment?" The thought sent Peter into a short fit of laughter. "Unless you consider pre-owned GED-prep books and old sewing machines valuable, you're outta luck." His mind, however, flashed to the lego figure and coffee cup he kept on the table at all times. He had cleaned out the one-use cup and placed the broken shards of black glass from MJ's necklace inside. It wouldn't be their home forever- he had plans for them, but it seemed fitting for the time being. Peter kept the only valuable things he owned right out in the open, where he could see them. "Nice name. I should have guessed. Because of- well, because of the claws."
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): "Banishing spell." Stephen repeated the phrase as he contemplated the runes Wanda was showing him. "Sounds like that'll get the job done of keeping them out- but what about making sure they get sent back to the right universe? We don't want to create a bigger mess."
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Peter glanced at MJ, nodding numbly. This was too much. Annie was probably a sweet kid, definitely seemed like it if their first interaction was anything to go by - but he wasn’t old enough to be a dad? Or responsible enough, or- or— “Hi, uh - nice to meet you, Annie,” the rational side of his brain won and he stuttered out a semi-coherent greeting.
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy was about to speak again, ask Tiana more questions, but she paused when she felt a tingling in her forehead. Her Silk Sense was going off like crazy, but as she scanned the room she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. She zoned out as she continued to look around, panic evident on her facial expression.
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Just as quickly as he calmed down, Strange’s words riled him back up - his spidey sense was going berserk. “I’m sorry, banishing spell? What the hell is going on here??”
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): “I’m sure we could find something.” Felicia very nearly winked, a smile actually crossing red lips. This banter was fun, light hearted. She needed it. “You can come to my place, then. I have some pretty nice toys.” That time she actually did wink. “Cat ears and a tail seemed too far, don’t you think?”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): Suddenly an uncomfortably familiar prick trickled down his spine, like a chill. He stiffened and turned his head on swivel “what’s going on—hey what are you doing?” his eyes finally went to the wizard and the woman in red.
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): She felt for the Peter in front of her, they didnt look too far apart in age and Annie knew she'd be trying to climb out a window immediately if someone told her they were her nearly grown child from a parallel universe. She gave a small awkward wave, "it's nice to meet you too." Mary Jane's comment then registered to her and she couldn't help but laugh, "yeah I'd like to think so. "
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): If he wasn't blushing before, he was now. But before he could awkwardly answer, there was a shift. Instinctively, Peter straightened up and moved closer to Felicia. He placed an arm in front of her, blocking her from some unknown danger he could feel. "Something's happening."
ANNA-MAY PARKER (18119): As Peter repeated Strange's words, Annie's body went rigid and her wide eyes locked on the wizard man in the middle of the room waiting for further explanation.
HARRY OSBORN (TASM): In between the chatter and small talk in the room, a small bomb with an Oscorp label slowly clattered onto the floor, slowly ticking before suddenly blowing a hole in the side of the Sanctum Sanctorum.
WANDA MAXIMOFF (MCU): “Hoc spatium defende. Hoc spatium defende.” Wanda began muttering as quickly as she could, red covering the group to block the blast from reaching them.
PETER PARKER 4 (616): The force of the blast sent Peter flying backwards and he sent a web in MJ’s direction, keeping her tethered to his body for a moment to reduce any potential injuries.
MARY JANE WATSON (616): They had been in explosions before. Mary Jane latched onto Peter as she went tumbling backwards. “Hey,” she instantly reached for his face to check for damage. “I’m okay, I’m okay. Are you okay?”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): Time moved slowly, Peter didn’t have time to think or process or even feel the sudden burst of rage that exploded through him just as violently as the bomb that had blown. He still had Gwen in his arms when the blast went off and he was entirely prepared for the force to blow them back—he tucked her head down into his chest and stiffened to shield her…but then nothing. His head snapped back up and he saw a sea of scarlet blanketing over the firey blast. “Gwen—you need to leave. Now.” He told her, coming to stand in front of her as he backed them toward the wall, nearer to the exit. He wasn’t doing this again. No way in hell.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “Leave? Peter -- I -- leave to where?” Harry could fly. He could grab her. It had happened before. She wanted to say she was safest with him, but the kernel of guilt in her gut reminded her that wasn’t true. “Where am I supposed to go?”
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy felt herself get knocked back onto her ass, not catching sight of the bomb in time to brace herself as she grunted and tried to grab herself up using the nearby staircase.
PETER PARKER 4 (616): “I’m okay— I’m good, You’re okay - you’re okay— you— okay?” he muttered, frantically examining his and MJ’s rattled forms before scrambling to his feet and beginning to usher her out of the room, away from whatever this looming threat was.
MARY JANE WATSON (616): “I’m fine, I’m fine. Promise.” Mary Jane reassured him as he began to drag her from the room. “Peter, is that---?”
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): Peter started moving a millisecond before the bomb hit the ground. Everything happened at such a speed that if felt like slow motion, and it felt like fast forward. The clang of the metal against the stone floor was all too familiar a sound. It sent nauseating shivers down the length of his entire body. He thought he would never have to hear anything like that again, or at least he had hoped. And as he turned around and wrapped Felicia in his arms, all the rage and the fear and the guilt that he had slowly numbed himself to came boiling back up. That had to be Norman. Whether it was the same Norman from before, and the cure hadn't worked- whether it was Norman from a universe they hadn't talked about yet- Peter didn't care. It was Osborn and it was terrifying. But in a surprise turn of events, the bomb barely touched them. The force of the blast sent Peter and Felicia back a few feet, but he kept his grip on her and managed to take the brunt of the fall. He opened his eyes just in time to see the red barrier that had blocked the blast, and was left hyperventilating on the floor as his brain scrambled to catch up.
LILY HOLLISTER (MCU): She loved big entrances. As the smoke cleared, Lily stepped out from the hole in her new white suit. Black gloved hands rested on her hips as she looked around the dust covered space. “So, I heard this rumor that you wanted to send Spider-man home, and that’s seriously not cool. I’ve kind of been working on something and I don’t want it ruined.” Her lips pulled into a pout before they quickly snapped into a smile and she waved. “Hi. I’m Lily. That’s my friend Harry. I found him floating around out there and he seemed like a good time. Mind if I bring a few other friends?”
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): “Wait, what?” The sensual purr was gone from Felicia’s voice the second he moved in front of her. Then, they were being thrown backwards. Felicia’s body was covered by Peter’s as the two bounced backwards. Landing on top of him, she rolled off quickly and leaned forward so her face hovered over his for a moment. He didn’t look like he was doing well. Climbing into a crouch, Felicia popped her claws out and stood guard over him. “What the ever loving fuck?”
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): The blast sent Miles stumbling a few feet back, his instincts making sure to grab Tiana's arm in an attempt to brace them both. But ultimately he just ended up tugging him along with her as he got thrown back onto the floor, smoke flying everywhere. Thankfully Wanda seemed to have kept them all from burning to a crisp, but he still felt on edge as he coughed a bit and lookd up at Tiana. "Hey.. you good?"
TIANA TOOMES (616): Her wings had automatically gone up to shield her form. As they lowered, Tiana looked to Miles. “I’m fine.” She climbed to her feet and offered Miles a hand. “Are you okay?”
PETER PARKER 4 (616): Peter caught a glimpse of his counterpart’s equally panicked expression as he struggled to determine the best course of action to protect his once deceased love. In a moment of desperation, Peter send a strand of webbing toward Gwen’s hand and pulled her forward, linking her to MJ. “Get each other out safely, please! We- we’ve got this! I think—” there was a newfound confidence in his voice but panic still clung to his tone. There was no way this would end well for everyone.
HARRY OSBORN (TASM): Harry followed in with Lily, a smirk on his face as he caught sight of his Peter and... wait, was that-- "Gwen Stacy? Wow, this really is a party." He quipped, a crazed grin on his face as he made eye contact again with Peter. His Peter. Childhood best friend Peter. The same Peter who refused to give his blood to help cure Harry of his Retroviral Hypodysplasia. His mind tended to willfully omit the part where injecting himself with that same spider venom only expedited his descent into madness. "We've got some unfinished business, Parker."
LILY HOLLISTER (MCU): “We’re going to kill every spider we can find.” Lily clarified before Harry went onto some long I’m insane and scaly rant. “Just so you know.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): He shook his head wildly, no—no. This wasn’t happening. This wasn’t happening. This wasn’t happening. “You can’t be here, you can’t be here.” he was torn—part of him wanted to rip Harry limb from limb right then and there but another part of him didn’t dare leave Gwen.  What was he supposed to do with her? He couldn’t go up with her, he couldn’t webb her to the damn ceiling, suddenly he spun around to face her “you listen to me, when I tell you to run, I want you to run. You got it? Gwen—you’re gonna run this time?” he fought to keep his voice calm when all of a sudden she was webbed away from him and attached to Mary Jane. Peter didn’t have time to argue before  another voice snaked in and sent a chill straight through his bones. “Gwen this is the part where you run.” he spoke to her but stared at Harry. Peter’s heart raced, a wild thrum in his chest as he fought the panic back. “Funny. I was just about to say the same thing to you.” he shot two webs forward and yanked himself at what used to be his best friend. If Harry was too busy fighting for his life he couldn’t touch Gwen.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): Gwen was frozen. It felt like it had just happened. Harry’s hands on her, her stomach out from underneath her. He had killed her. Not directly, but they had been here before and she was back in the clock tower. Hand suddenly webbed to a red heads, Gwen’s neck whipped to look at her while still trying to process what Peter was saying. “We’re supposed to run with one hand?” They were targets now. Still, she stumbled backwards a step.
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): Peter sat up, and the world was spinning. He could barely breathe but he couldn't stay on the ground. Felicia had jumped into action and.. was she protecting him? Shit, that's the state he was in right now? Having a major panic attack after Osborn blew the building up, having people protect him? He was a mess. But through the fog in his brain he managed to hear the name Harry. Which meant that this wasn't Norman- it was his son. "Felicia.. are- are you okay?" Peter still sounded out of breathe as he finally broke the mental concrete holding him down and got to his feet. "We can't stay here, we have to- we have to go, we have to get everyone out, we-" He glanced around and saw the glider Harry was riding and the pit in his stomach grew. But his stood his ground, afraid of what was going to happen. Peter remembered hearing one of his alternate selves warn him against becoming bitter, about how he stopped pulling his punches- and now he was watching that same man go after his own best friend.
MARY JANE WATSON (616): “*Peter!*” The webbing was sticky and firm against her hand where it was bound to Gwen. Seeing someone who looked like her friend was hard enough. She wanted to reach out and hug her -- even though it wasn’t *her* MJ -- but they didn’t have time. “Are you kidding with this?”
ANASTASIA KRAVINOFF (616): Anastasia followed shortly behind Lily and Harry, crossbow slung across her bag and a knife in each hand as she scanned the room of spiders. "Eeenie, meenie, minie, moe." She pointed towards the Jessica Drew's and charged.
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles took Tiana's hand and pulled himself up, catching his breath for a second as he nodded his head, thankful to hear that she was okay. "You... you should go. Won't they hold this against you? You helping us?"
PETER PARKER 4 (616): “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Peter yelled before shooting a web forward and launching himself into the fray.
TIANA TOOMES (616): “I don’t give a fuck what they hold against me.” Tiana was livid. “What are they going to do, attack me? Risk the Vulture coming for them?” Not that Tiana needed her grandfather to hide behind. “I want to smack the shit out of Lily Hollister.”
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): “I always land on my feet.” Felicia kept her eyes trained on the glider and the Harry Osborn who came with it. “I work for him,” she muttered. “Or, a version of him. We’ll need to have a talk after this.” As Peter seemed to become more coherent, Felicia rose to her feet. “You get people out. The others seem to have the fighting covered.” Then, five women entered the room. “The goddamn Sinister Syndicate. How lovely.”
HARRY OSBORN (TASM): Harry scowled at his former best friend, his eyes trained on Gwen. Of course one of the other Peters was stupid enough to web him to another helpless significant other. It was like they were begging Harry to take them both out at once. His hand started to reach for another bomb, but before he could touch it suddenly a webbing was attaching itself to the wall behind him and he was being knocked off of his glider and onto the floor. "You made me do this." He muttered, going for a punch as he swung at Peter, completely distracted from Gwen and the redhead.
JESSICA DREW 1 (616): “Oh, hell no.” Jessica dodged the knife. “Did you know you’re as ugly as your father?”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): Peter’s spider sense picked up on the swing before it delivered and he ducked, returning the favor. “I didn’t make you do anything.” he swung again. “I tried to help you.” again, harder this time. “i tried to stop this!“ again.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “We have to -- we have to go.” Gwen nodded frantically. “Okay. Let’s go.” It took them a second but the two women began to move across the room.
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles resisted the urge to smile at Tiana's words, honestly just grateful that she declined his request to go. He knew she was more than capable of handling herself, and honestly there was no one he'd rather be smacking people around with than Tiana. "Same." He didn't hesitate to send a venom blast in her direction, bracing himself for a fight as he stood at Tiana's side.
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): Felicia was in the back of the room, hesitant on what to even do as she watched the fighting unfold. This was not something she wanted to get involved in, but she couldn't help but notice the panicked tone of the third (?) Peter at the sight of his blondie potentially in danger. As much as she wanted to get the hell out of dodge, seeing MJ and the blonde struggling to run out of the room to safety wasn't just something she could stand by and let happen. Groaning to herself, she rushed over to them and grabbed onto their webbed hands. "Come on. I've got your backs." She insisted, her claws ready should she need to fight anyone off of them.
HARRY OSBORN (TASM): Harry found himself letting out a guttural yell as he reached for a blade from his belt and discharged it, using it to attempt to stab Peter as he frantically shook his head. "No.. no! You don't get to say that. You did the exact opposite of try to help me. Look at me, Peter! You did this!"
MARY JANE WATSON (616): "I never thought I would be grateful to you, Felicia.” MJ let out a panicked breath. “Can you cut our hands free?”
ANASTASIA KRAVINOFF (616): Anastasia narrowed her eyes at Jessica's comment, dropping one of her knives in the process and just opting for half hand combat as she tried to corner Jessica.
FELICIA HARDY 1 (616): "Careful, I still have time to abandon you guys." Felicia quipped, even though she clearly wouldn't as she paused and used her claws to carefully cut through the webbing. Once they were freed, she paused. "Don't run off, just stick with me and you'll be fine." She insisted as she motioned for them to follow her through the Sanctorum towards the hole that had been blown in the wall. "That's our exit."
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): He felt like he was reliving a nightmare. He’d had this exact one over and over again, and he was never able to change the ending. Every night, no matter what he did, no matter how many people he saved, how many hearts that kept beating. He could still hear the sound of her hitting the floor, he could feel the slack in the web before it snapped tight again, still see the blood stain in her white-blonde hair. He hated him—a guttural roar erupted from peters throat, so raw it felt like tearing on the way out. “YOU KILLED HER!” he was so angry he practically didn’t see the blade and side stepped it at the last second, feeling the tip of it catch his sit. Peter swung again, aiming for Harry’s face. He hated him and he hated himself because he knew he was risking her life and he did it anyway. Even after he promised Captain Stacey. Even after he got her killed. Here they were.  Again. This was the universes way of showing him it was never going to be okay—her and him. As long as he was in her orbit, she was in danger. And if she could just get through this last night—he’d never put her in this position again.
FRANCINE FRYE (616): It was Francine who went for Miles and Tiana, electricity snaking across the floor towards them. “This could have been way more fun for you, Toomes.”
HARRY OSBORN (TASM): Harry may have been driven a little mad by his disease and the spider venom combination, but even he was taken aback by Peter's raw emotion as his eyes widened and he hesitated. The madness came and went most of the time, and just as he was starting to snap out of it a little, Peter landed a punch square in the center of his face, slamming his head down onto the tile of the Sanctorum as he groaned and tried to sit up, but then there was another blow. And another one. His nose was bleeding, and Harry's hands were shaking as he held them in front of his face and flinched. "P-Pete. Peter!"
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): She wanted to say something to Peter. He was angry, and rightfully so. Gwen didn’t want to die (again) but she couldn’t leave him either. “I can’t.”
MARY JANE WATSON (616): MJ bit back a sharp retort; something along the lines of isn’t this how you died once already? She flexed her newly freed hand. “Listen to Felicia. It’s not the time to be a martyr and die pointlessly. You’re brave, Gwen. I love that about you. Everyone would love it more if you stayed alive.”
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles wanted to go towards Lily, but before he knew it there was electricity crackling all over the floor and he stepped back when they were approached by Francine.
TIANA TOOMES (616): Flinching as she got shocked, there wasn’t room for Tiana to get airborne with all the Spider-men flying around. “You guys had to know it was a bad idea to come here, right?” Another shock, another flinch.
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy wanted to help out with the situation going on with the Green Goblin in the center, but she caught sight of Scorpion heading towards one of the other spiders and quickly expanded her webbing to block her pathway. "Not so fast," She quipped, raising her eyebrows as she shook her head. "Sorry, but this is a no access zone. Actually, the whole Sanctorum is. You guys have overstayed your welcome."
FELICIA HARDY (616): Felicia instantly rolled her eyes at Gwen's words. "Oh come on. We were so close. The door's right there. Listen to MJ and your boyfriend."
MILES MORALES (ULTIMATE): Miles could feel the electricity hitting his feet, shocking him as well as he flinched and twitched from the residual electricity. Thinking fast, he quickly grabbed Tiana's waist before attaching some webbing to the ceiling and using it to pull them up, kicking into Francine.
CARMILLA BLACK (616): She had been making a beeline towards Ghost Spider, but Carmilla paused when Silk got in her way. “Move.” She intoned. “I’m not trying to hurt you.” Her stinger lit up all the same, ready to take her power if need be.
CINDY MOON (616): Cindy frowned in confusion, wondering why the hell they wouldn't be here to hurt her. It wasn't enough of an excuse for her to let Carmilla charge Ghost Spider, though. She sent some more webbing out and quickly wrapped it around the black haired girl, shaking her head slightly as she stayed in the way. "What's that supposed to mean? Menace literally said all spiders."
TIANA TOOMES (616): “Thanks.” Tiana twisted to untangle herself from Miles so she could spread her wings out. “Water. Her weakness is water.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): Something shifted between them and he felt Harry pull back but there was no hesitation to the swings that came next. All Peter could think about was that if he left enough of him to walk away he could get up and do it again, and he couldn’t risk that, he couldn’t— could he kill him? He felt the wet warmth of Harry’s blood through the knuckles of the suit he couldn’t bring himself to stop, pull back; he just kept seeing it. Her hanging there, feeling the weight of her lifeless in his arms. But somewhere in the middle of it he heard his own name sputter from Harry’s battered lips and it wasn’t the goblin talking. Peter’s next blow was delivered into the concrete beside Harry’s face, splitting through it and imbedding his fist. He stared down at him, chest heaving—it was unspoken, but clear; there wouldn’t be a next time.
CARMILLA BLACK (616): Dark eyes rolled. “What doesn’t Lily say?” When Silk webbed her, she slashed with the claws on her toxin arm and watched them dangle to the floor. “Your girlfriend says hi.”
CINDY MOON (616): That was enough to stun Cindy as she stumbled backwards, eyes wide. Saya wasn't her girlfriend, but she didn't have to be for her to know that that's who Carmilla was talking about. There was no way that Saya was involved with all of this, right? Right? None of the Syndicate were even coming towards her, or making an effort. In fact, they all seemed to be actively ignoring her. Almost like she wasn't even there. "Jesus Christ." She muttered, resisting the urge to pull out her phone and call Saya right then and there. She opted to go help out the unconscious Annie, deciding she'd deal with that mess later when everyone was safe.
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): "You work for an Osborn?!" Peter definitely didn't have time to be outraged by that, but he allowed himself half a second anyway. He shook his head to clear his head of the thoughts racing through it and then buckled down to focus on the problem at hand. But yeah- they would definitely need to talk later. "I think I'll stay." Gwen and MJ were getting help from the other Felicia and the Syndicate was here- but Peter was having a hard time pulling his focus away from the fight between the other Peter and Harry. That rage- he understood it now. It radiated from the other Peter's voice and struck him deep in his bones.
HARRY OSBORN (TASM): Harry coughed up a bit of blood, feeling dazed and barely conscious as he stared up at Peter, flinching at the sight of his fist coming down once more. But when he felt it hit the concrete next to him instead, he looked up once again, understanding exactly what that eye contact between them meant. Harry needed help, plenty of it. This.. this wasn't him. It was what the disease was making him into. He would have nodded his head, but he was pretty sure he'd further any potential brain damage he already had if he did. So he opted to just lay there, slowly letting his eyes close as he let out a soft sigh of relief.
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): “I’m an independent contractor for a rich boy who likes things who don’t belong to him. No murder or insanity.” Felicia hissed. Peter was pissed and she wasn’t sure why. Felicia felt herself began to prickle slightly. Her temperament wasn’t primed for people making assumptions about her based on her work. Her lips were a dark line before she reached out and took his hand, pulling him close. “As much as I’ve enjoyed our first fight, I don’t like the look in your eyes. Something happened to you. Something *bad*. Put your mask back on and pull yourself together.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): For a split second, he felt good sitting there over him, but then Peter kept looking. This is what they’d come to. He’d nearly killed Harry and wanted to. Peter shoved himself off his former friend and stared down at his bloodied face for one last second before he took the bombs off his belt. Peter stomped the hover craft on the way out just to make sure it was useless and went to find Gwen to make sure she and MJ and made it out okay. He left Harry there with intent to come back for him—he needed help, and to be put somewhere where he couldn’t hurt himself or anyone else.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): It was over. Gwen couldn’t tell if Harry was dead. Despite what he did to her, she really hoped that he wasn’t. It wasn’t right for Peter to go down that path; it was, really, the antithesis of hope. With her hand free from Mary Jane’s, she left the trio to hurry back towards where Peter was walking away from Harry. “--Peter.” She reached out, hands cupping his face. “Is he...? Are you okay?”
PETER PARKER 1 (MCU): Something bad. Something bad? For a moment, Peter gripped Felicia's hand just a little too tight. She managed to pull his gaze away from the fight but now they locked eyes, and it all felt like the sharp snap of a rubberband. If he wasn't careful, every ounce of pain and anger would come pouring out the second he opened his mouth. It made him angry that she was right- that she saw right through him, that she wasn't going to let him sit in the fire and get scorched from the inside out. He thought it would be easier to pull himself away from that feeling after being forced out of it once before, but he was wrong. And that realization made him feel even worse. Peter said nothing as he withdrew his hand from hers and slid his mask on like he was told. Making taking it off around her was a mistake. Even when the entire world knew who he was, wearing the mask made everything feel slightly more under control. No one can see that look in your eyes with the mask on. No one can see you cry, see you bleed, see you. Once he had composed himself a bit, he turned to her and gave her a nod. "Thanks."
WANDA MAXIMOFF (MCU): Enough. This had been enough. Wanda raised both hands, the air stilling. One by one the Syndicate vanished, the women ending up in the basement that had once held similar villains. Her gaze was displeased as she looked over the remaining group and the broken body of Harry Osborn as he rasped for breath on the floor. “You do not belong here. You need to go home. I can’t do that right now, however.” She needed to recalibrate the spell. “Until I can do so, you are not to ruin this reality. Do you all understand?”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): When a pair of warm hands met his face, it took him a minute to register the one in front of him. He felt like he was being pulled out of a fog. “No.” he answered. “I’m fine—what are you—why are you still here?” his hands came up to gently grab her arms.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “Peter.” Gwen shook her head. “You looked like you were going to -- and I, I couldn’t let you. I couldn’t watch you kill him.”
FELICIA HARDY 2 (MCU): Her hand stung slightly where his gripped it, but she liked the pain. It kept her tethered and grounded. Pain was part of what drove her to do what she did, be who she was. It reminded her of where she came from. Felicia kept her eyes locked on his, refusing to look away. What she saw was too much. How could she see through someone so clearly the first time they met? Before that day, she had never heard of Peter Parker. She was a thief and looked out for herself. She wasn’t supposed to care or stand guard while he panicked. “Good boy.” The words were a low purr, barely audible. “I was being serious, you know. Your place or mine. I think we have things to talk about. Or, if you’d prefer, not.” The cat burglar adjusted her black goggles with one hand. “But you and I? We’re not done.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): “Me? I’m not the breakable one.” he grabbed her face, delicate between his palms. “Listen to me, I can take a twenty story fall and get up, I can’t live with myself if you die again. Why don’t you get that?”  he was pleading with her.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): That earned a scoff. “Well, you’re not invincible, Peter.” Her lip quivered slightly, head turning from side to side. “Let’s not do this here. Let’s go, let’s talk. Not here.”
PETER PARKER 3 (TASM): “aren’t you tired of being scared all the time?” he asked softly.
GWEN STACY 2 (TASM): “That’s the thing,” Gwen’s tone matched his. “I’m not. Now, please. Let’s go.”
STEPHEN STRANGE (MCU): "Well, Wong is going to have fun thinking of some terrible spell to torture me with when he gets back and sees this." He gently pressed a few fingers to the bruise forming near his hairline and winced. "Now if everyone could please- get out." Strange raised his voice so that it almost echoed around the rubble filled room. "We'll get you all back to the reality you came from but we've all got our own messes to figure out at the moment. I don't want to see any red spandex for the next week- at least."

As Spider-Man Rumors Persist, Andrew Garfield Reveals a Downside to its Fame
https://ift.tt/3ke7kIP
Andrew Garfield’s personal life can currently be described as events that occur when he’s not publicly denying rumors of involvement with Spider-Man: No Way Home. The actor, who broke big from relative obscurity with his two-film run in director Marc Webb’s abruptly-ended duo of The Amazing Spider-Man films, has been bombarded by questions—in some cases accusations—that he, along with preceding portrayer Tobey Maguire, will appear in Marvel’s multiverse-threaded threequel alongside current star Tom Holland. While he is undaunted in his denials, the actor is also reflecting on the path that playing Spidey has set for him.
Garfield’s Spider-Man turn will probably always be overshadowed by its status as an ignominiously forgotten casualty of industry events. Indeed, the grandiose franchise aspirations of the 2012-2014 Sony-licensed Amazing Spider-Man films were unceremoniously abandoned for a historic deal with Marvel Studios to bring about Tom Holland’s shiny new version of the Wall-Crawler. This was especially shocking for those who recall the pure, palpable passion Garfield displayed for the role, both on and offscreen. It also yielded him an (eventually-ended) IRL relationship with onscreen co-star Emma Stone, who played Spidey’s inevitably doomed love interest, Gwen Stacy. Yet, notwithstanding the nature of its end, his recent comments to Total Film paint an intriguing picture of his (maybe not so bygone) Wall-Crawler days.
“I don’t know about reincarnation, and if there is one opportunity for me to be alive, and I get offered the opportunity to do a prolonged dress-up as my favorite character of all time, there’s no way I can say no,” says Garfield. “And, yeah, the only thing that I knew was going to be a challenge was the fame aspect, and I knew that a lot of good would come with that as well. I knew it was going to provide a gilded prison… As a creative person, I knew I would have to balance it out with theatre and with waiting for the right movies to come along that would make sure that I stayed an actor, rather than this idea of a movie star. I love movie stars. I love The Rock. I fucking love Tom Cruise. This is in no way a detriment to them.”
For Garfield, the opportunity to play Spider-Man for a major release was too powerful, despite being a stage-driven actor-type who seems to prioritize the craft over the commercial. In fact, so great was the opportunity that it superseded any apprehension he may have had about the inevitability of instantly taking on the kind of merchandise-friendly fame he seemingly eschews. Yet, his apprehension was shared by a significant portion of the general public, since the 2010-reported initial news of the movie project that would become 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man was widely perceived as Sony’s cynical attempt to spin an unnecessary reboot, especially since the Maguire-headlined previous iteration’s last outing, 2007’s Spider-Man 3, was still relatively fresh, and rumors of a fourth film remained ubiquitous and topically diverse.
However, the early days of Garfield’s sentence in his proverbial gilded prison was nevertheless permeating with optimism. Details were slowly starting to be divulged about an updated, more serious version of Spider-Man—in contrast to the often-outlandish tone of Raimi’s films—emerging to match the significantly raised level of comic book movie pathos of the money-printing MCU movies. Moreover, Garfield provided a monumental moment at 2011’s Comic-Con, in which he appeared in a fan Q&A during the film’s promotional panel disguised in a cheap, pajama-level Spidey costume, at which point he ripped off the saggy, eye-holes-poked mask to reveal that he was the genuine article for the then-upcoming film, creating a raucous wave amongst attendees and those watching later on YouTube. Indeed, Garfield was anxious to prove himself, and, as he now reveals, his preparation for this layered, loftier, conspiracy-unravelling iteration of Spidey involved a significant amount of research.
“My intention… I started studying myth, which is the basis of comic-book films and comic books generally,” he explains. “And you go, ‘Oh, right. The responsibility of modern filmmakers is the same as the person telling the story around the campfire.’ Stories are the things that remind us of who we are as human beings, and we actually have an opportunity to provide deep wisdom and medicine and guidance. So, for me, it was like: How do I help to infuse this with as much soul and universality as possible, knowing that millions of young people are going to be watching? So, it’s not an exercise in selling t-shirts and mugs and Happy Meals, but it’s giving young people the opportunity to feel their own extraordinariness, and their own ordinariness, and seeing someone who’s just like them struggle with those two things living inside of themselves. So, for me, it was about that. And then, you know, there’s everyone else that’s serving their own masters.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home – Breaking Down The Sinister Six Villains
By Joseph Baxter
The tchotchke-churning franchise prospects were initially validated when The Amazing Spider-Man went on to gross $757.9 million worldwide in 2012, creating an upsurge of studio plans for not only the obvious sequel, but an Avengers-esque team-centric megamovie focused on Spidey’s coterie of archnemeses, the Sinister Six; plans that, even now, purportedly remain in place. Indeed, Garfield, in a recent interview with Collider, intriguingly shed some light on the state of things at Sony regarding that never-realized project, which had tapped a genre veteran in writer/director Drew Goddard. “I don’t know how close it got, but I definitely had a few meetings, and it was really exciting,” recalls Garfield. “I’ve got to say, because I love Drew so much, and I love Cabin in the Woods, and the other stuff that he’s made. We just got on like a house on fire. I loved his vision, he’s so unique and odd and off-kilter and unconventional in his creative choices. So that was definitely a fun couple of months, but life.”
Pertinently, the professional drawbacks Garfield divulges about his otherwise-fulfilling Spider-Man cinematic sojourn might be another form of denial amidst the wave of rumors that currently consume his days regarding Sony’s MCU-adherent Spider-Man: No Way Home. Said rumors snowballed significantly upon the long-awaited release of the film’s trailer, which confirmed the long-rumored notion of its plot centering on Multiverse concepts wrought by the magic of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. In fact, Garfield found himself in denial mode earlier this week during a remote appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where the host confronted him over recently-viral pictures of what is believed to be him on the film’s set. Perhaps at a point in which he’s used to his denials being met with instant incredulity, Garfield takes a light-hearted tone with his answer—in contrast to the exasperated tone of previous denials—stating, “I heard about it. And I did see it. And it’s a Photoshop. Look, if they want to give me a call at this late, late stage in the game, you know, I’m just sitting here in my tracksuit.”

Regardless, it will be interesting to see if Andrew Garfield’s internal struggles over commercialism as an artiste will ultimately lean a certain way for a nostalgic big screen trip as his angstier, skateboarding version of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the live-action manifestation of the Spider-Verse for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 17. In the meantime, fans can witness his chameleonic transformation (that, in no way, was a reference to villain the Chameleon,) as disgraced televangelist Jim Bakker, in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, opposite Jessica Chastain’s equally uncanny title role.

Note
i wanted to do B R E A D but some of those were boring so i'm also adding K W X Y bc those look more fun but i don't rmr what B R E A D all were so u can skip whatever if it's too many
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
IRINA/FORTUNATO
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
Buddy, I live for platonic relationships, so this question is a jerk, but also, I’m fairly certain that my top three at the moment are Ronan & Blue (The Raven Cycle obvs), Alice & Will (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland), and Anakin & Ahsoka (Star Wars: Clone Wars). They’re the ones that make me cry through my tears, “They love each other!!!!” while also being concerned that people will misinterpret it as shippy, but no romo, my dudes.
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?
Um, clearly my legacy of Morning Glories breadcanons. The height of humor and wit. Additionally, the ~200 words of Abraham/Gribbs that a total of five people have seen, but that’s like 100% of the people who still care about Morning Glories, so,
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Spideytorch really reared its horrible head this year!!!!! Like!!!!! I’m always Spideytorch but previously just in the way where I’d reread my favorite Traincat fic of the moment every two months, but then you and Phoebe had to get into Spideytorch too and now it’s just hell!!!!!
Alice & Will have been a nightmare because I’m rewatching OUATIW and they’re just a nightmare!!!!!
Shoutouts to all of the following: Clint Barton/Nick Fury (Ult), Lana Baumgartner/Jessica Drew (Ult), Luke Cage/Jessica Jones(/Matt Murdock), Jessica Drew & Johnny Storm (Ult), Bobby Drake/Johnny Storm (Ult), Ben Grimm & Reed Richards, Ben Grimm/Sue Storm (Ult), Matt Murdock/Elektra Natchios, Gwen Stacy/Mary Jane Watson, Casey/Jade, Hisao/Guillaume, Irina/Zoe, Amira bint Balqis/Corbin Underwood, Ronan/Gansey, Eve & Lucifer, also I’ve started rewatching Torchwood and every time Jack mentions the Doctor or Gwen and Jack have a moment I scream
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Sometimes I wish I liked S********l because there’s a lot of content, and I like Peter Parker, so it should be enjoyable, right? But also my taste is too good for that. I’m sure there are other ones. I don’t dislike Luke Cage/Claire Temple, but I begin to shriek whenever I consider the possibility of Luke and Jessica not being endgame, so,
I wish I liked any Star Wars ship.
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
YELLS ANYA (BtVS), WESLEY (Angel), ZUKO (A:tLA), TOPHER (Dollhouse), ROXAS (Kingdom Hearts 2), GWEN (Torchwood), EVERY CHARACTER FROM RTD DOCTOR WHO, HOLY SHIT. MAYBE KAREN PAGE FROM NETFLIX DAREDEVIL BUT LIKE SHE STARTS AMAZING AND JUST GETS AMAZING-ER SO IDK IF THAT’S A REAL ARC. God, Jessica Jones, as well, especially in the comics??? The one that probably takes the cake, though, honestly, is J. Jonah Jameson from Ultimate Spider-Man because his evolution is so unexpected and untraditional yet perfect I love him
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Character in love with their same gender best friend but unwilling to act for fear of ruining their friendship
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
Magnus and Alec kiss, Noora wears the good clothes and Isak and Evan(?) kiss a lot, the girls in Age of Youth are in love and one needs to break up with her boyfriend and possibly somebody is a ghost and possibly somebody is a hooker, Steven Universe has space moms who are also rocks, I’ve actually never read a Daken comic in my life, the brothers in Demon’s Lexicon love each other very much, Bokjoo and Joonhyung(?) are husbands, in Fire Emblem: Fates you have to blow on your spouse, Stephanie Brown is extremely good, as are all the bat children, Solanin is by Inio Asano, Transformers are gay, Hiei is short and sad and fire and in love with Kurama, who is a completely different character from Kuwabara. That’s everything I know about everything.
