Okay so I read the shit out of your planet evans fic and here are few things I want to say if you don’t mind:
GURL WOW. LIKE YOU DID THAT. YOU ATE THAT SHIT UP SOOOO GOOOD OMFG THIS IS THE BEST THING IVE EVER READ AND YALL CAN COUNT ME IN AS PE!READERS NUMBER 1 FAN. FUCK CHRIS EVANS.
Lol sorry but literally so we’ll written. I love how pe!reader is such an complex character, like she has such an interesting depth. Her past and her work ethic makes her more than just an actress in the industry, she is literally a role model and wants to pave the way for all the young girls. I also love how she show that she actually went to therapy ( Chris hon yes this is for you it’s never too late to go to therapy) by her anders and how she handles things. Like in that fic scared? I guess when they were fighting she didn’t jump him and did nasty things no the bitch wanted to talk it out and be adults. This is so relieving to read bc not everything is about sex in life. Like sometimes people want to be heard or there are people that would gladly listen to you, it’s about finding those right people.
Im also obsessed with pe!readers style sooo much. It’s giving very much ‘yes I have money and I use it like how it should’ and I love that. I also see her wear a dress one of her fans drew for her on a red carpet bc my girl would totally do that and support us girlies. Pe!reader would totally go to war for her fans and interact with them as much as she could ( cuz I imagine doing the same when I’m a celebrity lol🤭) but yeah.
My girl is also a directorrrrr heyyyy I love that so fucking much. Lady Bird is my baby and the fact she directed nova you get extra point for that.
I also went trough the tags and I ADORE you for not giving pe!reader a faceclaim. Like iconic behavior idc. BUT I saw that most of your babes are claiming Hande Ercel as the faceclaim and YOU GIRLS HAVE TASTEEEE. I met her once when she came to Dubai bc she was the ambassador for a jewelry line and her face was on the burj Khalifa. ICONICCCC sis she is so prettier in real life I wanted to squeeze her so bad but I can’t afford a lawsuit so I sticked with the hug lol but anyways y’all did your research bc Hande Ercel is pe!reader energy.
Sorry for this lil rant but I felt like I owed this to you after I read the shit out of your fics. And the reason I didn’t like them is bc you said you hated spam likes so I’m trying to respect you and I will start reblogging them once I got this whole tumblr shit figured out cuz your girl is starting over.
So yea btw you’re my bestie now and idc what anyone else says
you’re so sweet for that feedback 🥹
i’m very very happy that you’re enjoying the fic and pe!reader, she’s my baby 🫶 i hope you stick around with us!
aw you’re not the first to say they’ve met hands and that she was sweet. makes me happy because a lot of times my anons want to see her as a face claim and i like giving them that every once in a while 🫶
thank you for not spam liking!!!!!!!
ofc xxx

Caring For Your Hormonally-Charged Bird
Hawks x Reader (NSFW)
Tumblr media
(I didn’t mean for this to turn into a monster with over 7k words, but I finally finished it. This is based off of my mutant headcanons and also takes some inspiration from user kazooli’s awesome thirst posts about Hawks. Happy Springtime, everyone!)
Edit: Now there’s a Part 2!
------------------------------
The songs of lovestruck birds rang across the streets. Freshly bloomed cherry blossoms rained petals down onto the pavement. Butterflies and bees hovered around the flourishing flowers. It was undoubtedly a beautiful day. Too bad you had to spend it in an office with an oncoming headache. A familiar voice spoke behind you.
“Wow, look at that. I don’t know what’s more gorgeous; the scenery outside or the lady staring at it.”
Hawks’s charm doesn’t affect you when he has pissed you off so many times in such a short span.
You’ve had the ‘privilege’ of working for the Hero Public Safety Commission for several years, from supporting public events to endless desk work. The pay was generous and life was overall more comfortable. All you had to do to stay on their good side was comply with every demand, ignore the condescending tones of the bigwigs, and turn a blind eye whenever you witnessed the occasional sketchy practice.
When they offered you a job as the personal handler of one of the top heroes of Japan, you almost fainted. You have always been a fan of Hawks. Fast, handsome, charismatic, he may not have the godly strength of All Might, yet he still felt just as flawless. You’ve been helping and guiding the winged young man since last summer and learned that he’s even more than what you imagined. He wasn’t just good-looking, he wasn’t just a sweet-talker…
He was also a fucking nightmare to work with.
You turned around to see said man ogling you a bit more than you were used to, his trademark crooked smile on his face, but you ignored that and went straight to business. “Your carelessness is trending again for the third time this week, Hawks.”
He drew a sharp breath in an exaggerated gasp. “Again? Oh, what could they possibly be on my ass for this time? Was I smacking on chicken wings too loudly in public? Did they catch the moment I almost flew into that crystal-clear window?”
You whipped out your phone, already prepared to show him a news page with a rather shocking photo. A man with an elegant and sleek appearance was beaten and bruised, his dazzling peacock tail fanned out behind him. The attacker was none other than Hawks, who was gripping the other man by the collar, his wings fully spread out with several sharpened feathers floating around his victim as an unnecessary precaution. It was a very aggressive display.
‘HAWKS LAYS SMACKDOWN ON PERVERTED PEACOCK’ was the headline.
“This is beyond excessive force. You could have just as easily restrained him with your quirk.” You scolded, fixing him with the steely authoritarian stare that you’ve been working on.
Hawks flinched, but you couldn’t tell if he was just playing with you or not. “Ma’am! I was simply defending the girl’s honor! She was very clearly uncomfortable and besides, wouldn’t flashing his tail like that be considered indecent exposure?” Yeah, that tone told you that he was clearly not intimidated.
“No, and even if it did, indecency and harassment wouldn’t excuse such a violent subduing. Furthermore,” you gestured at his threatening wing display in the photo. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were demonstrating similar behavior.”
He simply shrugged. “Just showing him who the bigger bird is around here.”
Your eye twitched. “For God’s sake, Hawks, you’re not an animal. Part of my job is ensuring that you maintain a friendly image that will keep the public at ease. This is not friendly. Shall I go through some of the comments for examples?” You scrolled down and cleared your throat in preparation. “Anyone else put off by how violent Hawks looks here? I didn’t know he had it in him to beat someone down like that. He’s usually all about being quick and efficient.” You scrolled down to the next one. “What’s the deal with Hawks? I was there and it was like watching a cockfight.” You clicked on a reply to that particular comment. “I know, right? I always wanted to meet Hawks in person, but after that, I was honestly too scared to-”
“Hold on, babe, I know you’re cherry-picking here,” Hawks, the little bastard, had taken out his own phone while listening to your reading. “Because those are nothing like my personal faves that I found on my Tweeter page.” You watched with silent frustration as his eyes scanned his phone until he found what he was looking for. “Ah, here we go. ‘Oh my GAWD, that look, those spread wings, he looks like such a beast!” He had raised the pitch of his voice for a mock feminine tone. “Leave it to Hawks to make all of us women feel safe. That pervert deserves to lose a few more teeth.’ Oh, and here’s the winner right here. ‘Just as I always expected, that hunk of a bird knows how to dominate. I can just imagine him towering over me, giving that same look while I take his big fat-”
“Hawks.”
He paused, but his shit-eating grin didn’t fade when he noticed your head being held in one of your hands. You hoped he didn’t notice that you were trying to hide the red that crept into your cheeks.
“…cock.”
You groaned loudly enough to most definitely be heard outside of the office. There truly were days when he would cut you some slack and be easy to deal with, but he has become downright unbearable for the past few weeks. His teasing has increased ten fold, yet he’s also been keeping his distance from you for whatever reason. It had taken you a while to notice, but he was normally more than happy to get in your face and ruin your professional act, but now, even when you’re the one trying to approach, he would casually step back to prevent the gap between you from closing.
And then it hit you.
Shit, it shouldn’t have taken you this long to connect the dots. You had even noticed how his wings appeared to be a shade brighter for the past few days, but dismissed it as a trick of the light. No, he had grown in his spring plumage.
“Uh, babe? You still there? Did the ‘C’ word break you?” Watching you stare into space was getting him a little concerned.
“You’re rutting,” was your simple reply.
Hawks’s face flashed into something more serious for a split second before giving a ‘tsk’ and looking away. “Took you long enough,” he scoffed. “Surprised the Commission hasn’t fired you for letting me go wild for so long. They must not have any replacements available right now.”
“Watch it,” you ordered. You pondered for a moment before asking, “Have you not been taking your hormonal medication? I know that you’ve been prescribed some for this time of year.”
He sighed and rubbed at the back of his neck, as if he was the one who should be feeling annoyed right now. Bitch, please. “Sometimes,” he muttered.
“Sometimes? They don’t work if you only take them sometimes, Hawks. I know you’re a busy hero, but you can put some effort into keeping track of your dosage.”
“Look,” it was the first time you’ve seen a genuine scowl on his face, the expression taking you back. “I just really hate that stuff, okay? They sap all of my energy and I put on a few extra pounds.”
You shook your head at his complaints. “Is that really worse than what you’re dealing with right now?”
“Yes. I’d rather be a horndog than a slug that doesn’t even have the will to move. It wouldn’t even be so bad if I could just sleep around every now and then, but that’s more trouble than it’s worth. I don’t wanna make your job that miserable.” He eyed you up and down for a minute, while you tried not to shy away from his piercing gaze. “Or I could find just one loyal partner that will help me scratch the itch?”
You stepped back, your heart racing at the unspoken request. “E-excuse me?” you stuttered.
Hawks raised his hands harmlessly. “Hey now, it’s just a suggestion. I’m pretty into you, you’re obviously into me, this could work out pretty well.”
An array of emotions were flowing through you, but you were more upset than anything else. “And what exactly makes you think I’ve been ‘into you’, as you’ve said?” Denial. You’re pretty sure that’s what this is. You know that you’ve been attracted to him since before you even met, but you weren’t going to let this overgrown brat have his way.
His sudden burst of laughter startled you. “You’re kidding, right? I still remember that look you had the first time we were in this room together, and it wasn’t the innocent ‘I wanna support my favorite hero’ look,” He was willingly approaching you for the first time in what felt like forever, every step sounding like thunder to your ears. “It was a ‘bend me over the desk and fuck me’ look.”
You were the one stepping back this time. You wanted to remind him not to use such foul language, to berate him for making such vulgar claims, but your voice was caught in your throat.
“We’d be doing each other a favor, right?” he continued, wings slowly expanding. “Keeping me in top shape is part of your job, isn’t it? I promise you that I’m gonna feel a lot better after this.”
You bumped into his desk, leaning back slightly as he finally closed the distance. His wings draped around each side of you, filling your peripheral vision with pure red. His face was only inches away from yours as he closed his eyes and inhaled deeply.
“You’ve been smelling so damn good lately. Been afraid that I just might pounce you if I get too close.”
A thickly gloved hand reached out and cupped your face with such a surprising amount of tenderness, you couldn’t help but wonder how it would feel bare. You were so entranced by his lustful gaze that you couldn’t find it in you to resist as he leaned in, feeling his hot breath as his lips drew closer to yours.
The door busted open accompanied by a shout. “Hawks sir! Your help has been requested at-OH!”
A genuine growl rumbles through Hawks’s throat and damn, that makes you tremble. By the time he turns toward the stumbling sidekick, he was already back to his cool and friendly self.
“Don’t stop on my account, buddy,” he beamed the younger man with an unwavering smile. “What’s the request?”
———
The next day, you tried very hard to pretend that little office incident never happened. You were not going to let something so unprofessional ever happen again. That was a promise.
Hawks, on the other hand, was being a persistent bastard. You were determined to win this battle. If he wanted the urges to go away so badly, then he can take his damn medication like he always has, not use your lack of authority and experience as an excuse to rebel. The only reason you haven’t informed the Commission about this is because you know that your head will be on the chopping block as well as Hawks’s. You will most definitely be in some shit once they realize that you can’t keep their most prized possession in check.
And to be fair, as the week went on, you really were wondering if you were cut out for this job. With his wings getting more vibrant, his advances becoming more frequent, and his feral rivalry against other men growing more severe, Hawks has officially become too unruly for you to handle, and you’re the goddamned handler. You couldn’t lose this job! What if they terminated you completely and you couldn’t get another position from the Commission?
You paced back and forth in the empty office. Hawks was late this morning, leaving you alone with your endless worries. He may act lazy, but he was never actually late for his meet ups. Looks like you’ll have to call him and pray that nothing serious has happened.
You jumped when your phone vibrated before you even reached into your pocket. Ah, looks like Hawks reached out before you did. You held your phone up, prepared to answer, and froze.
It wasn’t Hawks. It was the deputy, the very man that was kind enough to give you this job. He hasn’t called you since your first few days here to help get you started. With your progress, you doubt he was calling to give you a raise.
Well, as much as you wanted to throw the phone out of the window and find an appropriate place to bury yourself, you didn’t make it this far by cowering from these guys. Taking a deep breath, you picked up and greeted the man on the other side with a steady voice. “Good morning, Deputy.”
He addressed you with the same bored and unimpressed tone that you hear from every member in this cursed organization. Jeez, if you keep working here long enough, are you going to eventually sound as soulless as them? “I assume you are aware of Hawks’s current condition?” he asked.
Dammit. “My apologies, sir. I know that I have been neglectful of Hawks’s health and his behavior during this time. I have been doing my best t-”
“That isn’t the issue I am talking about, but thank you for confirming that you have indeed failed in keeping Hawks’s unsavory habits under control.” You flinched. Way to rat yourself out. “Hawks had managed to find and subdue the troublesome villain Libido.”
“Ah, of course. I have been informed of that, sir.” Libido was a cunning little criminal that has been causing trouble all over the city of Fukuoka. His ‘Love Breath’ quirk gave him the ability to exhale fumes with powerful aphrodisiacal qualities. The guy even made his own gas bombs, releasing them among unsuspecting crowds in the public. He was less of a villain and more of just a chaos-loving hoodlum that was too slippery for his own good.
The deputy carried on. “One of the sidekicks has told us that Hawks was exposed to his quirk.”
Oh. Oh dear. That’s some strong stuff to be subjected to.
“We have ordered Hawks to go home immediately and wait patiently instead of heading to a hospital. We will be sending treatment his way.”
Some of the tension left your body. “That’s good to know, sir. May I ask what kind of treatment he will be taking? I know I haven’t convinced you yet, but I want to do anything I can for his well being.” You hesitantly asked. Please, oh please let me make up for everything that has been happening.
You heard a faint chuckle from the other end. “That’s very good to know, because the treatment is you.”
You’re glad he couldn’t see the confusion on your face. “I’m sorry, sir. Are you saying I’ll be the one to doctor him? I’ll need to know what medicine he needs and how much rest he’ll be expected to-”
“Do you know how people affected by aphrodisiac quirks are normally treated?” he interrupted you for the second time. He didn’t even give you a chance to answer before continuing. “Given your questions, I’m assuming that you don’t. We can indeed offer drugs to weaken the effects, but Hawks will still be in great distress and will take a long time to recover, especially since he’s neglected to take his hormone medication with the help of an incompetent handler.” Ugh, you get it already. You screwed up. “But the quickest and most efficient remedy is, without a doubt, sexual contact and allowing the quirk to run its course. That is what we expect you to provide for him.”
What.
You took a full minute to collect your thoughts and ensure that you heard everything correctly. The deputy waited patiently. How kind of him. Once you gathered yourself, you conjured the most constructive response you could think of.
“Huh?”
An overly loud sigh sounded in your ear. Hey, it’s his fault for dropping this bomb of a request on you. “We can’t have the number two hero out of action for too long. The alternative is to strap him to a bed and sedate him for an uncertain amount of time. His rut has enhanced the quirk’s effects; this may even strengthen his arousal for the rest of the season.”
Your face paled. That sounds ten times worse than the way Hawks was already acting. “So, if I were to…be with him,” you blushed at the very thought. “That would provide the best relief?”
“That is the gist of it. You told me you would do anything for Hawks’s well being. Can I hold you to that?”
Your pounding heart was almost drowning out his voice. You didn’t mean to corner yourself like this. “O-of course. I’ll see what I can, um, do.” This discussion was getting uncomfortable.
“I didn’t expect you to be so hesitant. You’re a loyal fan of his, aren’t you? You should be thrilled. Few fangirls get this opportunity.” He laughed at his own joke. You sure as hell weren’t laughing with him.
“Yeah, of course, sir,” you grumbled. “I suppose I shouldn’t leave Hawks alone for too long. I’ll be on my way soon.”
“Excellent,” he said. “You’ll need to take some precautions, of course. Here’s what you need to keep in mind…”
———
You walked out of the local pharmacy, cradling the pills tightly to your chest like some sort of security blanket. The deputy’s advice echoed in your head.
“It’s best that you take contraceptives. Hawks’s mind will be clouded with feral cravings, such as the urge to breed. He is not going to accept condoms.”
You tossed the pills onto the passenger seat in your car.
“Again, Hawks is suffering from both the magnified effects of Libido’s quirk and his annual rut. It’s possible that he will not be of sound mind. If things get out of hand, you have the right to protect yourself.” the deputy paused for a moment. “Just try not to leave any marks on him, if you can. Hawks must look presentable at all times.”
Well, you did have a stun gun that you thankfully never had to use, and hopefully it will stay that way.
The deputy’s help made you way more anxious than before. Were you about to have sex with a horny man, or tame a dangerous beast? You still didn’t know what to make of this predicament.
You take your phone and select Hawks’s number. It’s probably best not to surprise him at his door. Hopefully he wasn’t too riled up and ignores your call.
The phone rings once, then twice, then you hear…whimpers? Shit, was it getting that bad?
“Hawks? Are you there?” you asked calmly.
“Babe.” Goodness, his voice was rough. He sounds like he just ran across the country. “Oh thank God. Talk dirty to me, baby.”
“Wha—no.” This was a mistake. You really weren’t prepared for such levels of horniness. He just blurted that out like it was nothing! “Look, um, I heard your urges are becoming too much to handle. I’m heading on over there to…help you.”
For a while you just heard what sounded like breathless laughs and weeping. Hearing him in such a fragile state had you genuinely concerned. “Y’serious? We’re-ah-we’re gonna fuck?” He was panting heavily between words.
Heat was gathering in your face. “Yes, that’s the plan.”
“Oh, fuck yeah. Get over here-fuck-so I can stuff you, babe. You’re gonna be mine. Oh I can’t wait to fucking have you.” This sounded like a goddamned porno and you couldn’t handle it. There was a strange sound in the background as he rambled, something like wet smacks. You kept hearing it in sync with his grunts and…
Oh.
“Just hang in there, alright?” You said quickly, wanting to end this call right now. “I’m coming.”
“Well, I’m not. My hand’s really not doin’ it for me. Gotta be inside you, babe. Gotta cum in that tight-“
You hung up.
You banged your head against the steering wheel harder than intended, but at least the pain got your mind off of…whatever all of that was. You can’t believe you just heard your favorite hero breathlessly talking about how he wants to bang you while jerking off. You didn’t know it was possible to feel this mortified, but that wasn’t the worst part.
The worst part was the tingle between your legs.
Hawks, one of the top heroes of Japan, the heartthrob of the generation, was lusting for you. It had you both excited and on edge. You remember the deputy’s comment.
“You’re a loyal fan of his, aren’t you? You should be thrilled. Few fangirls get this opportunity.”
You probably would indeed be thrilled if the circumstances were less dire. Your fantasies normally involved something simpler and more romantic, not saving him from his own sex-hazed mind. You still weren’t sure what you were walking into, and that was admittedly a different kind of excitement.
There was no time to waste with the state Hawks was in. Calming your nerves, you started your car and began taking the route to his place.
———
Here you are, at the doorstep of Hawks’s house. His place was surprisingly humble for a top hero, it made this encounter just a little less nerve-wracking. Pressing a finger to the buzzer, you waited anxiously, rocking back and forth on your heels. You really hope he’ll be dressed decently when he answers the door.
Your heart skips once you hear a click and the doorknob twists. It feels like it takes an eternity for the door to open and reveal…nobody.
Instead, you were greeted by a small flock of feathers suspended in the air. They slowly floated a distance away from you before stopping, as if they were waiting for something. You cautiously stepped inside, some of the feathers closing the door behind you. You don’t know what type of welcome you were expecting, but it wasn’t this. The feathers guided you, drifting up a flight of stairs and into a room with its door hanging open. You can hear harsh breathing inside, reigniting your fear. “Hawks?” You hesistantly called out without getting any closer.
A cracking voice cried out your name. “Help me. It fucking hurts. I’m so hot. Make it stop.” He sounded like he was crying. The desperate pleas prompted you to mask your fears for the umpteenth time and approach the room, taking in the sight of the man that has been waiting for you.
Hawks was naked, not to your surprise, but still to your absolute horror. He sat on his bed, skin glistening with sweat and a deep blush spreading throughout his upper body, making him look more feverish than aroused. His chest heaved with the irregular breaths that left his hanging mouth. His hair was even more unruly as usual, some of his locks sticking to his damp face. Your eyes locked onto his, pupils dilated and looking right through you.
He looked awful.
You came closer, trying your best not to stare at the very swollen and throbbing member between his legs. “I’m sorry,” you said softly, stopping right in front of him. “I didn’t think it would get this bad. I-I want to help. Just tell me what to do.”
He was on his feet the moment you finished, nude body just inches away from yours, but you kept your feet planted where they were. As his large wings slowly opened and enclosed around you, you noticed how brilliantly hued his feathers have become, practically glowing a vivid scarlet. It was captivating.
Two clammy hands came up to hold your face, the same hands he was furiously pleasuring himself with just a moment ago holy shit, and his mouth was on yours before you could even react. You gasped in shock of it all, allowing his tongue to slip past your lips. It was less of a kiss and more of just him hungrily ravaging every inch of your mouth, your own tongue wrestling with his to keep him away from the back of your throat. One of his arms lowered to wrap around your waist and pull you flush against his bare form, making you yelp when you felt his erection pressing against you. Hawks’s dick was on you.
You were too overwhelmed by his restless mouth and his DICK to notice the stray feathers hovering over you. A tug and a loud rip made you jolt. Hawks held you still, the sound of expensive fabric tearing making you flinch as your skin was slowly being exposed. The feathers were shredding your clothes.
You pulled away from his suffocating mouth just enough to take a breath and attempt to speak. “Hawks! Wha—” only for him to smother you once again.
“Don’t move,” he uttered between kisses. “Don’t want to cut you.”
With a few more slashes, your cherished suit was now scattered on the carpet in tatters, revealing your body to him, but the feathers weren’t done. The floating blades carefully slid under your panties and bra. You stood completely still, Hawks kissing you with less aggression in an attempt to soothe you as the feathers sliced through the last of your clothes. You were now just as bare as him. He simply held you tightly, face rubbing against yours with the occasional lick against your heated skin. Your eyes were closed shut, unable to process his frantic tongue, his surrounding body that felt like fire, his cock that was now pressed to your stomach you were going to drop dead holy shit.
“Smell so good. Tastes so good.” he groaned, still sounding short of breath. His mouth went down to your neck, sucking at it hungrily and giving the occasional nip, forcing a faint moan out of you. He continued his descent and reached your breasts, molding them roughly and attacking your nipples with hard sucks. Despite the rough treatment, a tight heat was building up in your abdomen, your hands cradling his head as he explored you. He ventured lower, now on his knees with his face right at your womanly mound.
Your heart was pounding when he leaned in, his nose lightly touching you as he drew in a long breath and giving a pleased sighed. His nose pressed in further and poked at your glistening pussy, your thighs clenching in surprise while he happily took in your scent. Fuck, he was really just kneeling between your legs and smelling you. You were ready to protest and tell him that this was getting too embarrassing before something wet and hot slid against your folds, replacing your planned words with a yelp.
Hawks apparently approved of your taste, strong hands grasping the back of your thighs as he brought you in closer to fully devour you. Your cries were impossible to hold in while he lapped at you, mind becoming too clouded with pleasure to stay modest. He moaned loudly into you, the erotic sound vibrating against you, tongue fondling every inch of your folds before his lips closed around them, sucking greedily and almost making your knees collapse. You were getting close, grasping onto his head in a desperate attempt to stay balanced, his mouth now assaulting your sensitive bud. Your blissful whimpers joined the filthy sounds of his feasting when your orgasm washed over you like throbbing magma. Once your legs lost the last of their strength, Hawks set you down gently on the floor, still licking your sensitive lips.
“Ah, Hawks…too much…” You whined weakly.
He got the message and pulled away to immediately climb over you, giving you a clear view of his face glistening with your juices. Bright wings were fully spread out once more; it feels like you were about to be taken by an angel, the most savage angel you could ever imagine.
He came down for a sloppy kiss, spreading your own womanly nectar all over your lips. “Hope you’re nice and ready now. Ready to take everything I’ve got.” He mumbled against your mouth. You couldn’t help but smile and feel grateful that even in such a frenzied state, he was still kind enough not to jump you the moment you were within sight.
You brought a hand up to caress the side of his face, watching his eyes flutter shut as he leaned into your touch like the needy animal that he was at the moment. His body was still unnaturally hot and he was still breathing harshly. It’s time to finally give this poor man some relief.
“Go ahead, Hawks. I’m all yours.” You were indeed ready for everything he has.
Hawks said no more, gripping himself and aiming right for your opening. The moment his head was pushing past your lips, he thrust forward, filling you completely and knocking the wind out of you.
You honestly thought he came right then and there with the totally profane howl that left him. “Fuck…!” he choked, looking on the verge of tears. Despite the seemingly paralyzing pleasure, he wasted no time in moving, his pace quickening at an alarming rate. Your pussy was still sensitive from his wonderful licking, his dick currently sending painfully powerful shocks that you just weren’t ready for, and yet heat began to pool within your core for a second time. Your arms were wrapped around his sweaty form, nails biting into his skin and forcing rugged grunts out of his throat.
The wet slaps of your bodies rang throughout the room, your limbs quivering as he pumped into you faster, his heavy balls slapping against your ass, full and prepared to pour every drop of its contents into your womb. Hawks had buried his head into the crook of your neck, letting you feel every breathless moan right against your ear.
All you could do was hold on and take the increasingly rough pounding. His rhythm was sloppy from the start, but the thrusts were becoming even more irregular as a sign that he was already reaching his peak. Not surprising, given the state that he’s been in all day. One well-aimed thrust hits your sweet spot, making you moan loudly against him.
The sound eggs him on, driving his hips at a bruising pace and fuck it feels so good it hurts. Your eyes shut tightly as another orgasm breaks free, your feminine walls clamping around Hawks, squeezing his own climax out of him. You gasped at the powerful throbs of his cock as it shot out stream after stream of cum inside you. The purely animalistic growl that rumbled through him had you shaking in the best way while you watched his wings twitch and flap, hitting you with a light gust.
After an impressive amount of spurts, Hawks collapsed on top of you. He was heavy, but having his weight on you like this was pretty nice. You rubbed soothing circles around his back, listening to the rather inhuman cooing sounds he made in response.
You just had sex with Hawks, your favorite hero and the very man you were paid to look after. Oh man, how badly have you screwed up your relationship? Not that you two had much of a bond in the first place, but now things will most certainly get even more awkward.
A twitch inside you interrupted your thoughts. What the hell? Hawks’s breathing was accelerating again as he suddenly lifted his weight off of you, and that’s when you realized even though he came, he was still hard.
With newfound energy, he pushed your thighs towards your chest and rammed into you before you could even register what was happening. His new angle had you seeing stars with each thrust, hitting you even deeper than before. The sensation was dizzying, your overstimulated body beginning to throb all over. Hawks had the most obscene expression on his face, glazed eyes watching your tits bounce while his mouth hung open, drool trailing down his chin. You didn’t know such a look existed outside of adult videos, and having it aimed at you was enhancing your stinging pleasure.
Looking down granted you the view of his drenched dick pushing into you, each slam of his hips rocking you into the carpet, which honestly burned like ouch. Thankfully Hawks was reaching his tipping point once again, his hips moving at a bruising pace before one final smack. You were spoiled with another wonderful image of his head thrown back as a choked moan escaped him, another round of cum shooting into you.
He finally slid out of you as he sat back to catch his breath, wings limply dropping to his sides. Finally. You didn’t know how much more your womanhood could take. The strain of moving your legs made you wince. Did he have to pin you so roughly?
Hawks watched silently as you pushed yourself up. You felt behind your back and…dammit, you really did bruise back there. Maybe you should go find a mirror; hopefully it didn’t look too bad. You noticed that Mr. Horny Wings continued to just stare, pupils still enlarged and his dick was still hard what the fuck. He suddenly shifted onto all fours and crawled behind you. The light brush of fingers over your blemished skin made you shiver. They weren’t big enough to be that painful, but you still hissed when he applied a little too much pressure, making him pull away.
“Sorry.” His voice was still raspy as he apologized.
You shrugged. “Don’t worry about it. Could’ve been wor—AH!”
Hawks shoved you forward, manhandling you until you were properly on your hands and knees. Fuck, your entire lower body was starting to ache, and here he was, ready to go another round. The head of his still-swollen dick was already pressing at your entrance. Grasping your hips, he pushed past your puffy lips and re-entered your heat. You bit your bottom lip and took the limitless strength in his hips, his balls sometimes smacking right into your clit and bringing you closer to your next climax.
His pace slowed down briefly in order to lower himself and suck at your bruises. “Nnngh, fuck, Hawks!” The combined pain and pleasure had your insides burning. He moaned and panted into your back, kissing up to your neck and sucking there as well. A pair of strong arms wrapped around your torso, pressing your body against his in an intimate embrace as he plunged into you more deeply.
It was impossible to not moan after each stroke. His face rested on your shoulder, and you reached behind to bury a hand in his hair. Shit, this was all getting so intimate. He was holding you and was so close, you could feel the ripple of his muscles as he caressed every inch of your inner walls. Your third burst of pleasure had you quivering against him as he continued to chase his own orgasm, stars appearing in your vision with each thrust. Hawks sank his teeth into your neck before bottoming out and releasing more cum inside you.
Both of you were lost in your sensual spasms before you collapsed. Hawks didn’t lay on you completely this time, his sweat-soaked form crouched over you, close enough to still be inside of you…
And rock hard.
You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me.
You stayed as you were, your face down and your ass up, as you felt him humping away at you again. You could barely whimper as your tender pussy took another pounding. Christ, why wasn’t he getting tired? If the quirk was getting any closer to wearing off, it sure as hell didn’t feel like it.
It wasn’t long before he came again, grunting with each hard buck as he filled you with his apparently endless supply of cum. Was he done? Please be done. You turned your head just enough to check the state of his erection.
Nope.
Hawks had enough mercy to carry you to his much more comfortable bed before continuing. He took you again.
And again
And again.
You were positively ruined, no more strength left in your body as he repeatedly claimed you with fervor. Whenever it appeared you were getting uncomfortable in a certain position, he would simply switch things up before carrying on. Despite how utterly exhausted and raw you felt, your orgasms kept coming, every surge of pleasure clouding your mind more and more.
You had lost track of time. Was this his fifteenth go? seventeenth? Keeping count was becoming a drag. It didn’t help that Hawks was in too much of a trance to even speak, giving you nothing but moans and growls. At least he didn’t sound on the verge of tears anymore, so maybe he was making progress.
Another orgasm was approaching; could your tired body even handle it? You were laying on the edge of the bed as Hawks stood and fucked you. Even through all of the overwhelming passion, you never got tired of staring at his wings, the dazzling red never failing to mesmerize you. They fluttered rapidly as the tension in your core spilled over, your mouth opening in a silent scream and a blackness closing in on you with every blink.
Your body was finished.
———
Everything hurts.
That’s the first thing you noticed when you woke up and made the mistake of stretching. Your arms and legs ached, a sharp pain shot through your back whenever you shifted, and between your legs…well, the throb down there didn’t at all feel pleasurable anymore.
Still, you fought the pain to sit up and examine yourself. Your nether regions were surprisingly clean, almost as if someone had already taken care of it. With all of the cum Hawks pumped into you, it should frankly be an awful mess down there.
Speaking of, where was the guy?
“Hey.”
Oh, there he was leaning in the door frame. He had obviously tidied up, no longer a flushed and sweaty wreck, and was now sporting a pair of loose pants and a tee. You had never seen him looking so casual. It was probably a privilege very few had, and knowing that ignited something in your chest.
He glanced around before looking back at you. “You alright?”
Realizing you were just gawking at him and haven’t said anything yet, you coughed to ensure your voice was still clear and functioning. “I’m fine.”
He snickered. It was a sound you were used to whenever he knew he had the upper-hand in some way, but something about it felt softer this time. “I just fucked you into high heaven for a whole day.” He could’ve acknowledged it in a less shameless manner, dammit. “I just wanna know if you’re alright. You look pretty stiff.”
A jolt shot through your lower back in perfect timing with his statement, making you flinch. “Yeah, I’m—I’m pretty sore. Very sore,” you admitted.
“Ah,” He stood up straight. “I’ll go get some, uh, pain relief. Be right back.” And with that, he was out of your sight.
You waited patiently for his return, actually observing his bedroom for the first time. It was surprisingly bare, the room of someone who didn’t spend much time at home. There was a window that you didn’t notice and holy shit he was right. It was nighttime; you spent the entire day in Hawks’s bedroom. The fangirl in you was squealing in delight. You told her to shut the hell up.
The man returned with a glass of water in one hand, a pill in the other, and a set of clothes draped across his arm. “Here,” he handed the water and medicine over before sitting beside you on the bed. You gulped down the capsule, sputtering a bit as the cold water flowed down your dry throat. “I’ve got some clothes that might fit you well enough. Sorry about your suit. I’ll give you some money for a new one.”
He’s never sounded so wooden before and you couldn’t stand it. You let out your best good-hearted laugh as you took the offered clothes. “Stop that, Hawks. You sound as bland as your bosses right now,” you joked.
He laughed along with you. “Heh, sorry babe. Just worried that I came on a little too strong at the beginning there.”
You simply hummed in response. His clothes were so warm and smelled like him. Despite being surrounded by his strong scent for hours, you still welcomed it.
“So…looks like you’re feeling better.” You took in his appearance again now that he was closer. There was still a tinge of red in his face, but he seemed overall back to his usual relaxed self.
“Oh yeah, much better. The feeling’s still there, honestly,” he saw your eyes widen and instantly blurted out, “Just barely! I can ignore it and think clearly just fine now.” A boyish smile spread across his face. “Looks like I’ve got a hero. You really saved me back there.”
A ridiculous snort left you after hearing such praise. “Is that all it takes to be the great Hawks’s hero? I’m flattered.”
“Hey, I’m serious,” He looked you square in the face, and you couldn’t look away from his sincere expression. “It’s never been that bad before. Not gonna lie, I’m embarrassed you saw me like that. That was worse than all of my teenage ruts combined. Damn villain’s quirk really messed me up, felt like I was going fucking rabid. I don’t know what state I’d be in if it weren’t for you.”
Your mouth opened and closed, unsure of how to respond to his gratitude. “You’re welcome,” was all you could say. “You don’t need to feel bad about it. It’s…” You looked down at your feet. “It’s not like I didn’t like it. It was very draining, honestly lost track of time at a certain point, but it, uh, it was an experience.”
Hawks nodded in response. “Sure was. Never thought I’d rail a girl so hard and for so long that she’d pass out. I’m impressed with myself.”
“Hawks.”
He hung his head in mock shame. “My apologies, ma’am! I completely forgot that such vulgar language isn’t tolerated around you.” And there’s the infuriating grin that you were beginning to miss.
Both of you were laughing, slowly melting away the tension and stress that filled the room since morning. This…this was nice.
“So, you probably still don’t feel all that great, sooo…” Hawks rubbed at the back of his neck. “You wanna stay for dinner? Already ordered a chicken pizza with some wings.”
“Oh?” You raised your eyebrows. “Taking me to dinner after the sex?”
“Hey now, you know me. ‘The hero who’s too fast for his own good.’ Sometimes I miss a step or two.” He winked before getting up to leave. “You just lay there and rest, and go pee already. Don’t need an infection on top of everything else you’re going through. I already cleaned up the horrifying scene between your legs.”
You shuddered at the crude comment before falling backwards onto the poor mattress that had endured so much today.
Tomorrow, it will be back to professionalism. Back to pretending that you’re Hawks’s superior. Back to sucking up to the Commission. You’re going to cherish every minute of tonight, enjoying the company of Keigo Takami, not Hawks.
A shout echoed from downstairs. “The bathroom’s still empty, babe! Get your ass in there and pee!”

Congrats on 300 love! I don’t think I’ve requested something yet from you even though I love your writing! Anyway, could I request a fic where Teruhashi and the (fem)reader are dating(usually I don’t mind what pronouns the reader has but for this one it’s kinda relevant. But you can make it gender neutral if you want)? So the two have been dating for a few months. The reason Teruhashi entered this relationship wasn’t because of “love” but because she wanted to get her fans off her back and what better was to do that than enetering a relationship with another girl. She this that it may help get her male fans off her and at first it’s great. Then the reader starts to see the relationship declining. At first Teruhashi was sweet and kind but now she is kind of rude to the reader, saying things like how she is embarrassing her or that if Teruhashi is so perfect why isn’t her s/o capable of being that way too. Mean ik (I don’t like Teruhashi if you couldn’t tell), the reader is also dealing with comments from her fans saying that the relationship is a charity case and such so she is feeling horrible in the relationship. A fight happens between the two and mean stuff is said. They break up and the reader isn’t taking it well. Not because she is upset she isn’t in the relationship cause she is happy to be out but because of the backlash from fans. Seeing this either Kuboyasu (jabjshsk I love him sm) or Saiki (love him too) comfort her and they begin to hang out more till they start to date. The two are now in a healthy and loving relationship and the reader gets to see what that feels like and how that wasn’t what she had with Teruhashi... I really just write this whole fic out lmao. I was going to write it but I’m simply lazy and I wanted to request something from you. As always ignore this or change anything if you don’t like it an take your time please don’t rush or stress yourself out. Ily hun❤️❤️
Hi!! Thank you so much <3! I wanted to say that I adore this request and honestly was ready to drop everything to write it, what an amazing idea you have here! I’m worried I focused a little too much on the Teruhashi part but, man, I’m a sucker for angst so it was a lot of fun. I think I may have gone a little overboard, as I don’t think I’ve written something this long before. I’m sorry if it’s wrong or not quite what you wanted. Thank you so so much for this request, I love it!
Small edit: I forgot to add I picked Saiki for this, as I think I write him a bit better than Kuboyasu!
— Reader is female! Warnings for slight angst, break up, fighting.

Teruhashi is the perfect pretty girl, on the outside at least. —————————————————–
“So, what I’m trying to say is… Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?” Teruhashi asked on the rooftop one fateful evening after school. She looked as gorgeous as ever, trying to hide her slightly blushing face as she avoided your eyes. The wind was blowing gently through her hair, causing it to sway ever so slightly to one side. The sun was setting behind her, giving her an even more angelic glow to her appearance. You said yes, of course, how could you not? It was magical, especially when it was from the world’s prettiest girl. There was no way you could reject her.
The perfect couple. That’s how it appeared to be. For some time, that’s even how it was.
Teruhashi Kokomi. Your stunning, admirable, and perfect girlfriend. She’s amazing. A few months ago when she asked you to be her girlfriend you were exhilarated. The thought of dating what many considered to be the perfect girl was a chance you knew you just couldn’t pass up. All the time spent with her felt like cloud nine, she made sure you were happy no matter what, and of course, you tried to do the same for her. Her reputation truly held up, even in private.
Over those months, it amazed you what a wonderful girlfriend she was, having seemingly endless affection and love for you. It felt like she was more in tune with your emotions than you’d ever been. She was always ready to listen to your problems, whether you just wanted to vent or needed solutions. She was such a giver in the relationship that you even felt a little bad about it.
She knew that, but she’d never tell you. Not yet, anyway.
So many precious memories flashed through your mind as you thought about her. From getting ice cream on hot summer days to study dates amid a cold, snowy winter (where there wasn’t as much studying as there was cuddling). All the late nights you had spent with her, talking about everything and yet nothing. Video calls at the bright and early hours of the mornings just so she could get your opinion on what she should wear for the day. Every little thing you did together seemed as perfect as Teruhashi herself.
So where had it all gone wrong?
The relationship seemed like it was going great. What happened? What had you done wrong? Recently, Teruhashi had been acting anything but herself. She’s been aggressive, rude, and not interested in anything to do with your relationship at all. She’d avoid you, ignore your calls and texts. When she did see you, she’d throw insult after insult your way, blaming you for problems that were far from in your control, ones that her in her life, not yours. But that wasn’t even the half of it.
What made it even worse? That was only in private. In public, whenever she was with you (or without) she put on her little show of being Miss Perfect. You don’t know how you didn’t see through it before, looking back it was so obvious how fake it was. While in public you were sometimes able to convince yourself she still loved you, clinging onto a desperate hope that things weren’t nearly as bad as reality would tell you. Maybe she was just having a rough time? Her life must be hard, with the constant stalking and fans harassing her along with the need to keep everything in her life completely in order. She must just be tired of it and need somewhere to vent her anger. You didn’t mind being that person, but just not like this. You couldn’t always expect her to be perfect, and you hadn’t. You did your best to make it clear to her from the start that you didn’t need her to be perfect all the time and that you’d be there no matter what. If she wanted to relax in private with you, she was more than welcome to. She never did.
You had it rough, too. Her fan club was constantly harassing you as well. They called you names worse than she did, and had gone to extreme lengths just to get you to break up with her. They stole your things, drew on your desk, and were all-around horrible towards you. They claimed the only reason Teruhashi was dating someone like you was that she pities you, Teruhashi could do so much better. Deep down, you knew that may be the case, but she still asked you out for a reason, right? You never once complained about it, nor told Teruhashi. It would be okay in the end, and being with her was worth it.
Looking back, the red flags were there from the start. It would’ve been better if you caved to the fan club’s wishes from the beginning.
Your arguments seemed to only get worse with time. Insults being thrown your way more than once a day. During a particularly bad argument, she expressed how she felt she was the only one keeping the relationship alive, the only one that truly cared. For the first time, you fought back.
“How could you say such a thing! I do my best for you, I’m sorry we can’t all be Miss Perfect! I try so hard and yet it’s never good enough, is it?” You yelled in frustration, your voice was a lot louder and far more powerful than you intended. Teruhashi was visibly taken aback, despite her constant berating, you had never once raised your voice at her. She paused for a moment, clearly to think. You could easily tell just what she was thinking about.
You had no idea she’d been keeping track of everything you told her. Well, you did, but you never imagined your insecurities would be used against you in the way Teruhashi has been. Screaming them, bringing them up to your face, and forcing you to face them without warning. Using them to insult you, making them worse, and letting them dig deeper into the back of your mind.
Her face contorted in anger, even angrier than before. Listing things “wrong” with you as if her life depended on it, Teruhashi began her angry ranting. She wanted to get it across to you that she’s perfect and you’re far from that. She listed everything you’d ever done that irked her, every annoying thing you’ve said, and every problem you’ve ever told her about. She mocked emotions you’d told her in confidence and confessed that she always found them dramatic and ridiculous. She expressed how embarrassing it was to be seen in public with you, how she should only be seen with people on the same level as herself. If that wasn’t enough, she dealt one last finishing blow.
“I never loved you anyway.”
She turned and she left, slamming the door to your house shut behind her.
Your mind went blank and you barely noticed your knees hitting the floor as you collapsed to the ground. You didn’t realize you were crying until you felt the tears soaking into your shirt. You couldn’t see nor hear, everything around you felt numb and dark. Did she really mean all of that? There was no way you were that bad of a girlfriend to her.
Why did you still not want to break up?
Days passed and you still hadn’t left your bedroom, let alone your house. Your phone was blown up with texts from your friends, asking if you were sick. You learned from glancing at a few of the messages that Teruhashi had told them that. Reading her name hurt, it made you feel ill as you remembered what had happened a mere few days ago.
Your phone dinged once again. You reached out and grabbed it with a weak grasp, not having the energy to do more than the bare minimum. The name on your screen made a wave of nausea come over you, the content of the message not helping either.
From: Kokomi♡
I’m coming over.
You really needed to change that contact name. That wasn’t what was important, though. Why was she coming here? What else could she possibly need from you, and what on earth else could you possibly offer? You didn’t have much time to think about it, you needed to appear at least somewhat put together by the time she got here.
Your hair was just finished drying as you pulled on clean clothes. You made sure the entrance and living room areas of your house were clean, along with the kitchen. The knock at the door sounded so familiar, Teruhashi always knocked the same way. It sent chills down your spine. Pulling on the best neutral face you could muster and forcing your legs to move, you opened the door.
She looked different. There was no glow to her anymore. She’d never looked less like an angel in your eyes. Even compared to when she’d been yelling at you. It was jarring, almost like she’s a total stranger. It’ll make talking to her easier, you mused.
You wordlessly invited her in, stepping aside as she avoided eye contact and made her way to sit in the living room. Even once you were sat in front of her, she still wouldn’t look at you. You couldn’t tell if that was because she felt shame or disgust. You just hoped it wasn’t the latter.
“What do you need?” You started the conversation, keeping your voice as steady as you could muster. You were quite impressed with how well you were doing.
“We need to break up.” She stated, still not looking up. You rolled your eyes.
“As if I’d stay with you after that.” You spit out, trying to keep your words from sounding too venomous. A moment of silence, you could feel your heartbeat quicken in your chest. The nerves were starting to get to you and one of you needed to say something before the panic could set in. Luckily, Teruhashi did.
“They were right, you know - the fan club?” She said quietly.
“What?” You were surprised, she knew about that?
“It was like a charity case. I only dated you to get them off my back. Didn’t work though. Shame.” Her voice was calm, way too calm to be saying something so harsh. She was fine just ending your relationship like that, no matter what you’d been through together.
“Oh... of course.” She really had never loved you. You were just a tool she could use to escape the mindless drones that claimed to support her. So it all had meant nothing. It was just too good to be true.
She stood and wordlessly left, walking out of your life for good. Good riddance.
Your pain was only beginning to set in. You couldn’t care less that she broke up with you, you were miserable dating her anyways. No, the hardest part was you would be truly alone now. You knew once word got out that she broke up with you the whole school would blame you. There’s no way their perfect pretty princess could do wrong. It hurt to think about it, you’d probably lose your friends over this. There was one person, though, just maybe one person you could talk to.
Saiki Kusuo. An average looking boy, he didn’t stand out much. You had been friends with him months ago before you dated Teruhashi but she forced you to stop talking to him when you started dating. You never understood why, but she eventually told you that it’s because she used to like him before she got with you and she found it awkward for you to talk to him. You understood. The guilt ate you alive, but you complied. From that day on, you’d never again spoken a word to him.
You could tell just by looking at him he wasn’t like everyone else. He didn’t fawn all over Teruhashi when she entered a room and maybe that’s what drew you to him right now. He’d be the perfect friend, someone that wasn’t obsessed with her. You just hoped he’d forgive you.
“Hey, Saiki?” You asked, shyly walking up to him. He glanced up at you, an uninterested expression plastered on his face. He wasn’t visibly upset by you, but that only made you more nervous. You have no idea what he’s thinking. Realizing he wasn’t going to reply, you continued talking.
“I was just wondering if you’d be willing to have lunch with me. I-I know we haven’t spoken in a while but there are some things I’d like to clear up.”
Saiki knew exactly why you stopped talking to him. He wasn’t going to blame you for that, either. It wasn’t your fault. Sure, he was a little upset about it, you were someone whose presence he actually could tolerate. You were nice to talk to, mainly because you knew when was a good time and when to stop. Traits Saiki greatly admired and appreciated in a person. He might have even liked you a little.
He wasn’t about to let you go. Not as easy as the first time. “Sure.”
His response was curt and blunt, but you couldn’t help the small smile that graced your features. It was your first genuine smile in months. Maybe the whole world wouldn’t be completely against you.
“Thank you.” You stated simply, turning to sit back in your seat. It seemed like such a meaningless thanks, but Saiki knew there was more behind it than that.
Lunch came quickly enough and before you knew it you were eating under a tree with Saiki. You explained everything that happened over the last couple of months, how awfully you’d been treated behind the scenes. You apologized more than necessary for abandoning Saiki, trying to convey that you didn’t want to, but your ex-girlfriend had somewhat forced you to.
Saiki was forgiving, and far more understanding than he needed to be about the situation you were in along with the one you found yourself in now. Deep down, he was happy to have you back. Even if you weren’t super close before, he wanted to help you feel better and get over the torturous relationship you had just left.
So Saiki was there for you. The little lunch meets becoming a daily occurrence and he did his best to keep the Teruhashi fan club away from you. Talking to Saiki felt different, it was like he was genuinely listening and cared about what you told him. He was eager to help and aided as much as he could in your recovery.
Weeks passed as the routine kept up. On the weekends you’d meet for dessert and studying. Everything you did with Saiki felt right, it felt safe and healthy. You hadn’t realized how suffocating your old relationship was - even during the good days.
It wasn’t until Saiki asked you out and you said yes that you truly experienced what being loved felt like. It was late, well after the sun went down. Saiki had snuck into your house, claiming that his parents were being annoying but you knew that was a cover for the fact he missed you. There was no way they were awake these early hours of the morning. He saw your tired face under the dim light that peaked in from your window, as you woke up from his sudden appearance in your bedroom. Saiki felt a small rush. He needed to tell you. Now.
“Y/N” He spoke.
“Saiki?” The confusion was evident in your voice, “You spoke?” You were clearly tired after being disrupted from your sleep. Never having heard him speak before wasn’t helping with your state.
“Yeah.” He whispered, reaching a hand out to brush the hair out of your eyes, letting it linger on your cheek. It was a little more than platonic, just like the look in his eyes.
“I really like you, Y/N.” He whispered once again, so quiet you almost didn’t hear it.
But you did. Your eyes shot open, blinking a little in surprise. There was no way he just said that, you must be dreaming. There was no way this pink-haired boy that made you feel more than anyone else ever had was standing in your bedroom, at four o’clock in the morning saying he likes you.
You sat up, “You really mean that?” It came out without you intending it to. It probably sounded rude, but you were far beyond the point of being awake enough to care.
“Yeah.” He said, a small chuckle coming out, “I do.”
You didn’t say anything, all you did was slide back on your bed, making room for Saiki and open your arms. He took the hint and made himself comfortable next to you. He let out a small sigh, doubting he’d be able to sleep like this despite his relaxation. He wanted to protect you for as long as he could. He stared at you, probably a little more than he should. Saiki couldn’t help it, his eyes wouldn’t leave your form. You looked like you belonged in his arms, or so he thought. He was having a hard time processing his happiness at your figure in his arms. It had always been you, he was well aware of that now.
“You still awake?” he asked, going back to his telepathic communication. You mumbled a small yes, prompting him to continue talking. “Thank you,” he started, “for asking me to sit with you at lunch that one day. For coming back to me.”
You let out a tired giggle, “You missed me.”
“I did.” He felt you tense when you said that as if you were shocked to hear it. That didn’t surprise him, he had his doubts you were told you were cared about enough, especially in your last relationship.
Looking down at you once again, he realized you’d fallen asleep. A smile grew on his lips as he made a silent promise to show you what real love feels like. He’d cherish you to the moon and back. It’s what you deserve and he was going to give it to you.

oh my bad, i didn’t see you didnt write for atsumu or sakusa. can you do the same headcanons (s/o who’s smol and fragile) but with kuroo, bokuto, and oikawa? if possible, i would still like to see these headcanons with atsumu and sakusa <333
hey hey hey anon!! ty for the requests :)
I think this is such a cute idea (´♡‿♡`)
I just started watching S4 soo I'll save your other request for atsumu and sakusa in my inbox and get to that once I'm done!!
in the meantime, I hope you enjoy some of my favorite captains <3
btw sorry it’s definitely not my best, I was having major writers block so this is basically all I could manage :(
•Kuroo, Bokuto, and Oikawa w/ a Small and Fragile S/O•
warnings: none
genre: fluff
characters: kuroo, bokuto, + oikawa
Tumblr media
•Kuroo•
Kuroo had teased you about your height ever since the two of you had become friends
it was his way of playful flirting, harmless really
“Ah, hey there chibi-chan, still need help with that chem assignment.”
“I thought I told you to quit calling me that.”
“Aw, but it suits you.”
It was all harmless until he began to actually fall for you
the way your laugher erupted through the air at one of his stupid chemistry jokes or how you would never fail to flash a pretty smile and throw him a wave whenever you two were near
every single thing about you drew him in and he just had to make you his, so that’s exactly what he did you said yes obviously
even though he spent quite a bit of time with you before making things official, he never realized how prone to injury you were
seriously you got hurt so often it was crazy
at first he thought it was just bad luck until he noticed that you collided with the majority of things that were in your path
it was actually quite entertaining to him a lot of the time, but even if he let out a chuckle he would always take care of you
didn't matter if it was him grabbing the first aid kit from the gym or keeping you company in the nurses office while you got checked out
as much as he loved to tease you for everything, he was always right by your side
even though he put on a calm and collected front, he got worried every time you got hurt
it didn’t matter how minor or major the injury was, he just wanted to make sure you were okay
he was always making sure you were taking care of yourself too
making sure you ate and drank water and took care of your injuries when needed
sometimes he’d even tease you by buying you a carton of milk and claiming that you needed it for bone growth
he definitely could be a huge pain sometimes, but it always brought a smile to your face
with your height differences, his favorite thing was to pick you up by your waist, hold you up high, and spin you around
he didn’t care who was watching, all that he was focused on in that moment was the lovely smile stitched on your face
he loved to lean down when you were standing around or talking with someone and rest his chin on your head and wrap his arms lightly around your neck
this was especially common when he noticed someone else trying to flirt with you, a piercing gaze followed as well in these situations
if anyone tried to tease you about your height he would pick you up, throw you over his shoulder, and run the opposite direction hey problem solved
as much as he teased you himself, he was always making sure to let you know how much he loved you just the way you were
he always eased you insecurities and whispered compliment after compliment in your ear when you were down
he was your #1 hype man no matter the time
he truly saw you as perfect and he wouldn't mind spending the rest of his life letting you know
Tumblr media
•Bokuto•
when you and bokuto first met, he was very upfront about your height
"HEY HEY HEY! Wow, you're super tiny!”
cue your pouting
bokuto noticed your change of expression and quickly saved himself
“OH! No no, not in a bad way, like a cute way, you know? Tiny and squishy!”
cue him pinching your cheeks like an old lady
Akaashi ended up dragging him back to practice but not before he turned your cheeks bright red, from the excessive pinching and his comments
after that incident, you saw bokuto a lot more
usually due to you bumping into him in between classes
you didn’t mean to but he was just so tall and you were just so clumsy
those situations usually ended with you both apologizing profusely to each other while bokuto walked you to the nurses office
overtime, you two grew closer and closer and eventually made things official
despite all the energy he had, he was always very gentle with you
he knew he could get a little much at times and with how easily you got injured he wanted to make sure he was never the one causing you pain
his touch was always very soft and loving, allowing you to feel just how much he cared
since you would get hurt so often he would always carry bandaids in his school bag they had little hearts on them
he would drop anything he was doing and sit you down to place a bandaid and a kiss wherever the damage was
“There you go, Dr. Bokuto is always at your service Y/N.”
“Thank you Bo.”
if it was something more intense he would walk you to the nurse’s office, hair drooping and tears in his eyes
he honestly hated seeing you hurt or in pain
if he could, he would take away any and all of your discomfort
he just wanted to see you smiling, that was his favorite look on you
no matter how much you would tell him you were okay he still would not leave your side until you got fully cleared by the nurse and the rest of the day he would be clinging to you with a pout stitched on his face
he adored the height difference between you two
your small hand fit perfectly in his and the was your tiny figure molded into his when you two cuddled felt right
he knew that sometimes you could get a little insecure
he never really understood why you couldn't see yourself how he saw you but that didn't prevent him from bring you up and letting you know exactly how he saw you
he truly saw you as the most flawless person he’s ever seen
compliments were always followed up by a lot of hugs and kisses
he always felt like you deserved to feel like you were on top of the world so giving you piggy back rides or letting you sit on his shoulders was his favorite thing to do
he never missed the laughter that escaped your lips when he would pick up speed definitely his favorite sound ever
his main goal was to protect you from anything and everything and make sure you were loved
and he succeeded with that each and every day
Tumblr media
•Oikawa•
oikawa had had a thing for you since middle school
you never really thought much of the way he would act towards you due to his high popularity
honestly, you just thought he was being polite
that was until he asked you out your first year of high school
ever since then you became aoba johsai’s power couple
you didn't really care about titles though, all that mattered was that you and oikawa were happy
and contrary to popular belief, oikawa was a really great boyfriend
he never failed to make you feel appreciated and cherished
he honestly just couldn’t believe he was with someone so perfect, and honestly the blush that spread across your cheeks was just too cute to pass up
this didn't excuse you from oikawa’s teasing, your height being a main target
“Y/N-chan, mind if I rest my arm here, it’s so tired from practice”
“Tooru, get your gross, sweaty arm off my head.”
“Ahh so mean baby.”
although he never missed the opportunity to rile you up about you height, he always recognized when to stop and followed it up with a bunch of compliments
he knew it could be an insecurity of your sometimes and he would never dream of making you feel less then perfect
if any of his fan girls tried to mention something involving your height, he didn’t hesitate to confront them
occasionally going the extra mile and pulling you into a loving kiss right in front of them
he didn’t care if they stopped supporting him, he had you by his side and that was more then enough
although you usually got hurt quite often, that all stopped when you started dating oikawa
you honestly couldn’t believe it at first
all the scratches, scars, and bruises that frequently littered your body and slowly healed over time and no new ones took their place
you could not wrap your head around how he managed to do it
he was very observant and almost had this sixth sense when it came to you and your injuries
usually catching you before you fell, pulling you out of the way of something, or grabbing something and moving it away before it could cause you harm
you were practically like a small child he had to watch
he always followed up his smooth movements with a flirty remark
“Ah ah ah, you have to be more careful Y/N-chan, I'm the only one you should be falling for.”
although he loved spending any moment with you, his favorite memories had to be watching you in the stands during one of his games, cheering for him
his jersey was so big on you, he found it so adorable it always smelled like you when you returned it which was a huge plus
his favorite thing to do during games was throw you a wink before each serve he did, watching you laugh and wink right back
he always played his best when you were there
watching you from the court made him fall in love with you all over again
you were his world and he would make it his top priority to remind you of that each and every day

🍒 NSFW 18+
🍒 Dazai Osamu from Bungou Stray Dogs
🍒 x Fem Reader
🍒 A/N: Hello! This would be my first time posting my work here. I create fan fiction on a different website but I'm linking all my R-rated chapters or one-shots here; also for y'all to enjoy, to whoever finds this.
🍒 Background:
The story I published on the other website is a book of Fem Reader x Dazai One Shots of them doing ordinary (and sometimes not-so-ordinary) things a couple would do. It's kind of parallel to the events happening in BSD, but they're not in chronological order. Every six short stories, I'll be uploading an NSFW 18+ one, and this is the first. Reader's character is consistent all throughout the stories.
🍒 My inbox is always open for suggestions, though I can't promise fast productivity because I have classes :) Enjoy! xx
Tumblr media
Y/n took another sip from her wine.
She grimaced as she swallowed the warm liquor, disliking the smell. Normally, she'd prefer champagne over this, but she had associated the sparkling drink with parties and celebration.
And nothing was worth celebrating about tonight.
Under the dark blue glow, Y/n sat on the couch overlooking Yokohama's city skyline. The clock reading almost forty-five minutes past midnight.
She pulled her silk robe tighter to her body. Even with the air-condition off, the breeze at an hour like this still managed to make her chilly. The alcohol was only doing so little to heat up her insides, and her uneasiness wasn't helping either.
Dazai had left her a message earlier that afternoon that he'd be home late. And that could only mean the agency had assigned him a job that so much required his ability; a job that was most likely dangerous.
Y/n trusted in his ability, and himself even without them. But she still couldn't help but worry about him at times like these. She didn't want to see him suffer terrible injuries, or at worst, actually die.
A sudden clicking from the door lock fortunately snapped her out of her building worries.
"You're awake."
Y/n placed her wine glass on the small side table, not turning to look at him. Instead, she closed her eyes and tilted her head back on top of the sofa's backrest, letting out a sigh of relief. "You know I choose to wait for you to come home."
Dazai walked towards her. "Ah, I wish you wouldn't. I would always come home to you no matter what."
She felt Dazai's arms rest on both sides near her head. Opening her eyes, she was greeted by her smiling boyfriend. His eyes glinted in reflection of the city lights right outside the big floor to ceiling windows in front of them. He looked extremely handsome under the teasing of the darkness.
How did she get so lucky?
He kissed her forehead, taking the time to inhale her scent, before making his way to lay on her lap. "Seriously, you should rest. I'll be busy often so you can't keep tiring yourself."
Y/n stroked his dark, perfect hair. "What was the task tonight?"
Dazai unconsciously drew circles on her thighs, the tip of his cold fingertips leaving goosebump on Y/n's already freezing skin. "Just had to er, capture a weretiger."
"The tiger that's been on the news?"
"That's the one."
"Why did they send you after it?"
"Him," he corrected. "The weretiger's an orphan's ability even he didn't know about. Poor boy scared everyone away at the orphanage, even himself."
Y/n let him continue. He might not proudly announce or show it, but she knew that he was growing to love his work.
The side that saves people.
He sat up and stretched. "Not even a scratch on me. Okay, Y/n? There's nothing to worry about."
She hugged him by the neck and kissed him right on his jawline, the most convenient place to land a kiss considering their height difference.
"Wait." He chuckled, standing up and pulling Y/n with him. "The job was done in a warehouse, I should probably clean up."
"All right." Y/n yawned and walked towards their bedroom. "I'll head in first while you go take a shower, you do smell like dust."
Y/n hung her robe by the door before sinking to relax on her side of the bed. She was grateful Dazai had been coming home more often recently. He'd sometimes choose to stay in the agency's dorm when there was too much work or when he felt like he was being closely observed by an enemy of some sort.
She closed her eyes, still trying to keep herself awake until Dazai joins her.
The door to the room swung open and she could hear his footsteps drawing closer. Dazai likewise found himself under the cool, white sheets and spooned Y/n, kissing her on the cheek while doing so.
"Y/n, you're hot."
"Thanks," Y/n mumbled sleepily.
He smirked. "Of course you are, but I meant your body temperature, kitten. Are you sick?"
She shook her head. "I maybe had too much to drink."
"You didn't have work to take home?"
"I drank while working until you arrived," she admitted. "It helps keep myself in check."
Dazai sighed. "How many times do I have to tell you not to brood so much."
Before Y/n could answer, she felt him lightly kiss her neck, his breath teasing the shell of her ear— her weakness.
"D- Dazai," y/n warned, doing her best to suppress a moan. "Aren't you tired from the job?"
She tried to control her breathing as she felt him go hard against her butt.
"I'm not tired," he assured, pulling her closer to him by the arm as his lips continued to plant soft kisses on her neck. "Turn around."
Y/n was sure her cheeks were flustered red by now. Good thing it was a little dark, with only the glow coming from outside the windows as their source of light. She turned to face him, now laying face to face.
He cupped her face with both hands. "You're too cute when you worry, but I'm sure you stress yourself enough at your internship."
She closed her hand around one of his and kissed it by the palm. "I don't mind. I want to wait for you."
Dazai smirked. "Then we must do something to relieve that stress, no?"
"W-Wha—? Dazai!"
In one swift movement, Dazai was on top of her, pinning her down with both hands at the side of her head.
"You're always so stubborn, Y/n." Dazai's lips hovered above hers. "But it's my turn now."
His lips pushed hard against hers, Y/n struggling to suppress a smile. Dazai rarely asked for them to do 'it' and like today, he'd usually find a way to pin the need on her benefit.
"You're playing hard to get, huh?" He kissed the area between her breasts, his hand finding its way underneath her tank top.
"Why can't you ask for this like a normal person?" Y/n moaned as he continued to play with her breasts.
He hummed in amusement, now tracing a finger from her nipple down to the hem of her pajama shorts. "Because I'm not a normal person, love."
Y/n held her breath as Dazai's fingers circled around her clit.
"So I'm going to make you ask for it." He kissed her on the forehead and pushed a finger inside her without warning.
On instinct, Y/n gasped and closed her eyes at the sensation. He was too good with his hands that even though she wasn't an ability user, she could suddenly almost understand how it would feel like to be nullified by his touch.
"No." He grabbed her gently by the jaw with his free hand, making her open her eyes. "Look at me."
"Dazai..." was all Y/n could muster through her moans as he continued to flick his finger from inside, and that's only one. She barely held his gaze as her own eyes would threaten to retreat at the back of her head.
"Yes?" He stopped abruptly.
Before she could stop herself, Y/n screamed out, "No!" And immediately avoided his gaze.
Ugh.
"You were saying something?" Dazai started again, now going for slow thrusts with the same finger. It was sliding in and out easily now that her body had given in to him, betraying her mind.
"Now that you started it," she seethed. "Please."
Even though he was still climbing back to the quicker tempo he had earlier, Y/n squeezed his free left wrist, signaling to him that she was close.
Dazai's love for control flashed over his dark orbs, he loved it even more when it involved applying it to Y/n in bed. "Please, what?"
He pushed another finger inside her, his other hand teasing Y/n's bottom lip before inserting two twin fingers into her mouth.
Y/n sucked on them to conceal her moans. She was reaching a different kind of high compared to how close she was a few seconds ago.
"F-Fuck—" Y/n struggled to talk now that her breathing has quickened, mimicking the pace of Dazai's fingers, while also still trying her best not to break their gaze.
Her body went rigid as she clenched around him, her fluids slipping past his fingers and onto the bed sheets.
Dazai took his fingers out of her mouth and covered it to muffle what was almost a scream from her, while his other hand continued to work their magic from below. His weight now slightly pinned half of her body down as she squirmed, overcoming her orgasm.
Once she was done, he retrieved his fingers and stretched them out with a smirk on his face, admiring the fluid dripping from them. "Can you talk properly now?"
Tears were forming at the corners of Y/n's eyes. She was already too sensitive down there, but she wanted more of him.
It could only get better than this.
"Please," she said with a shaky breath. "Fuck me."
"I love seeing you helpless like this." Dazai pulled out his member and stroked the tip with the wetness from his fingers. "Your wish is my command."
He grabbed a pillow and placed it underneath her butt to elevate the lower part her body, since she was smaller and shorter than he was.
They kissed again as he thrust inside, slowly but hard.
Y/n gasped into his mouth but he was quick to claim it again. His elbows resting at her sides, barely pulling out of her as he continued to stroke deeper and deeper into her insides.
She grabbed his hair as they continued to make out, fortunately stifling their moans for their neighbors not to hear. Every stroke made her eyes water up more as she reached for her second orgasm.
"Dazai," Y/n whispered in between kisses. "Faster."
He pulled away and grinned.
"Good girl." He pressed his lips on hers before rising to support his weight with his hands. "Safe word if it hurts, okay?"
Y/n nodded as he picked up the pace of his thrusts. She tried to grab at the pillow underneath her head, but Dazai reached for her hand and held on to it instead.
No sound came out of her mouth as she struggled to regain proper breathing, even though she was very near screaming her brains out. Dazai, too, was close to reaching his peak with his own moans muffled on to his shoulder.
She couldn't feel anything else with the rest of her body except for the part that's being pleasured greatly down there. She was so wet she could hear the sound liquid with every stroke, together with the sound of skin slapping against each other.
She squeezed his hand to signal him again. "Dazai, fuck!"
"Me too," he said, focused. "Fuck, I love it when you're loud."
"Cum in me."
"What?" He started to thrust rougher at the same fast-paced jolts. It was starting to hurt but it turned her on even more.
And he knew this. He brought a hand up to her clit and started rubbing them.
"It's safe today," Y/n tried to catch her breath. She was dangerously close now that Dazai had done his final trick.
Her back arched as she arrived at her second orgasm, a bit more intense than the first one. She could feel Dazai empty himself into her, his jaw clenched as he slowed down.
He collapsed into her arms, whimpering in satisfaction. "You feel so good, Y/n."
She was too breathless to speak, her legs were shaking and she was throbbing down there. Y/n was in ecstasy, but the exhaustion came crashing down quickly to her.
"I'll go get you water." Dazai stood up and took a box of tissues from the dresser to clean his member off before tucking it back inside his boxers. He then left the room.
He came back with a glass of water, and assisted Y/n to sit up.
She took the glass gratefully and began chugging down the water. She then placed the glass on the bedside table once she was done, trying to get her breathing right.
Both of them shared a smile as Dazai tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "You know I fucking love you, right?"
Y/n nodded. "And you love fucking me."

Upcoming KonRae fan fic wip withing my Au
Thought I would give a small preview for a fic I have coming out. Its in my Batman and Raven au. I romantic side story.
The chill of Gotham harbor made its way to Wayne Manor. The two stared up into the moonless sky above. The only light came from the patio below.
“I wish I could see more stars.” Conner turned to the young woman beside him. Raven stayed focused on the sky above. “You can never see them from the city.”
“You should come by the farm, surrounded by fireflies, just sit in the back of the truck and watch. Nice getaway from all this. You should come next time, Ma’s been asking when we would show up together.”
“Together?”
His face grew hot, “y-yeah, like buddies. She knows you’re my best friend.”
“Mhm.”
Kon’s heart raced in his chest. Of course he meant a couple. He wanted to be a couple. Everyday it grew harder to deny what was between them.
“Hey, Kon?” Raven’s voice drew him out of his head. “What’s it like to hold someone’s hand?”
“Huh?”
“What’s it like to hold someone’s hand? No gloves. Feeling someone's skin.” Raven turned, finally facing each other.
“Why do you ask?”
She stayed silent for a moment, sadness washing over her eyes. “I haven’t been able to touch another person without some form of protection since I was a little girl. I’ve forgotten what it feels like. The most I’ve gotten was a small pat on the head from my father. ”
Kon looked down at her black gloves covering her hands. He wondered what her hands would be like. Will they be soft? Rough? How does she keep her fingernails?
“Do you wanna hold mine?” The words left his lips with no thought. It was her turn to go red.
“I shouldn’t” Raven sat up, turning her back to him. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Oh please, I’m Superboy, remember? You can’t hurt me.” Kon reached out his hand. “Here.”
She eyed it suspiciously. Slowly, she slid her hand from the leather glove. “Are you sure?”
With a nod, she pressed her hand into his. The strange magic rush made him flinch. Raven yanked her hand back, mumbling apologies and shoving her hand back into the glove.
“Wait.” Her body froze at his words. Looking from the corner of her eye, Conner shifted to his knees. He held both his hands in front of him. “Please. I want to hold your hand.”
Raven slowly turned back, her eyes trained on him. She once again slipped off her gloves. Her hands trembled as she slowly placed hers in his. Magic surged from her fingertips. He held her hand in place. Fear washed over his body. Her fear.
“It’s okay,” he whispered. So many emotions swirled between them. Both their breathing slowed, fear turning into calm. She’s so soft, so perfect. A smile crept on his lips. A knot began to build in his heart. “This feels nice.”
Conner peaked at the woman before him. Her cheeks were flushed, lips slightly parted.
I wonder how they feel too.
“You’re warm.” He watched her lips as she spoke softly. A new feeling flowed from her fingertips. Suddenly, Raven leaned forward and pressed her head to his chest. Kon didn’t think could pound any harder. The smell of her perfume intoxicated him. Looking down at her, their eyes finally meet. Stars sparkled in his eyes. The light from the home below illuminated her face ethereally. “Conner?”
Before he could think properly, he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. Magic instantly tingled his lips. They slowly moved in sync with one another. Kon dropped her hands and moved them to her back, pulling her closer to his body. Her chest pressed into his, his heat seeping into her skin. Raven’s arm wrapped around his neck, locking their bodies together.
He pulled away, his breath still clinging on her lips. She followed him, chasing another kiss. They met again, the kiss growing hungrier. His tongue ran over her bottom lip, slipping past her teeth. Conner conquered every inch, his hands moved love down her back. He turned her, laying her down on the roof. Soft moans slip past their lips, their bodies pressed tighter than before. Raven kissed anong his cheek. He groaned as her teeth nibbled his ear. Conner dove for heer neck, kissing her pulse. Hands traveled every inch in search of skin.
“Raven!” A voice called from below. Both of them froze. They slowly locked eyes.
“Raven!” Her father called again. Both scrambled away, clothes heavily disheaved. Raven scooted to the edge of the roof.
“Y-yeah?”
“I’m going out, behave. Alfred has cookies on the counter when you two come inside.” Bruce disappeared before she could respond. Silence hung in the air between them. Their skin was still hot, lips tingling.
“Con-”
“I’m sorry.” Raven turned to face him, struggling to meet his eyes. “I shouldn’t- We shouldn’t have.”
“Was it bad?” Tears started forming in her eyes. How could he make her feel like that and just rip it away? Her heart pounded hard as the heat of his touch began to fade.
“N-no, it wasn’t bad. It’s just… I shouldn’t have kissed you. Not like this.”
“Like this?”
He sighed, trying to find the words. He crawled back over to her, pressing another kiss to her lips. “I thought our first kiss would be after I took you out on a nice night.”
Raven stayed quiet, eyes focused on the roof. A strong hand lifted her chin, their eyes meeting. Their breath mixed together. They both had their own starry nights in their eyes. He pushed forward again, the gentleness differed greatly from the claiming kisses they shared before.
“You have no-idea-how long I-wanted this, Rae.” He couldn’t keep himself from stopping from pressing more kisses. “I can’t stop.”
“Then don’t.” Raven took her turn, pressing close to him. “I want this too.”
“Ms. Wayne!” It was Alfred’s turn to interrupt. “It’s getting rather cold. You two should come inside before you catch a chill.”
Both sighed, losing their chance to continue.
“Coming grandpa!” she yelled back. The two stared back at one other, they were past the point of no return. Neither of them wanted to go back. “Let’s talk inside, I think there are some things we need to discuss.”

flustered |c.d.|
pairing: cedric diggory x reader (fem!reader)
summary: you’re cedric’s best friend and you realize you have feelings for him so you want to ask him to the yule ball !!
warnings: none
guide: (Y/N) = your name, (Y/L/N) = your last name
word count: 1949
One week. One week until the Yule Ball and you still hadn’t mustered up the courage to ask Cedric. It was a little bit pathetic in your opinion seeing as he was your best friend, but you just couldn’t do it.
A couple months prior, Cedric casually mentioned that he’d be entering the Triwizard Tournament. Naturally, you freaked out on him, begging him not to enter. Every single moment of every single day you would hound him about it, saying you couldn’t see him risk his life to prove something. Fortunately, he relented and decided not to put his name in.
However, what he said to you that night after your wave of relief had struck worry in your heart: “Merlin, (Y/N), if I didn’t know any better I’d say you fancy me.”
His teasing was like a slap in the face. How could you not have noticed before? You were mad about the boy! But instead of admitting that to him and giving him the satisfaction, you simply let out a nervous laugh.
It was a known fact to all of your friends that you got easily flustered. An over-talker, if you will. Like in your 2nd year you had fallen madly in love with the Head Boy. So one day when you got lost on your way to classes, he offered to help you and you told him that you got new shoes that you were almost too excited to break in and you were really happy with the uniform’s choice in footwear and what brand are these anyway? Needless to say, it wasn’t your proudest moment.
That fear was the reason why you were absolutely not excited in any way, shape, or form to sit with Cedric during History of Magic. Your heart pounded in your chest, increasing speed as you settled in next to him.
“What took you so long?” he asked. “I haven’t seen you all day!” You rolled your eyes at him as you fished your parchment from your bag.
“One class, Cedric. It was one class that we didn’t have together.”
“Your point being?”
A smirk tugged at your lips as you turned to look at him, but his close proximity to your face had your breath catching in your throat. You clenched your jaw, hoping not to say something stupid. Unfortunately, you weren’t so lucky.
“Well, you see, before I had Divination prior to this― a class which you don’t have― and that is about 45 minutes long on Mondays. On Wednesdays, however, that is quite the different story! I have a double then so-”
“Do I make you nervous?”
Your body froze. Why couldn’t you be quiet for once? You slowly turned your head towards Cedric who eyed you lazily, his chin resting in his palm, a grin on his face. You internally groaned at his handsomeness, scolding yourself for not just telling him straight out how you felt.
Instead, you cleared your throat and said, “What would give you the impression?”
Cedric chuckled and sat up, shaking his head. “Nothing, love, nothing.”
Only five more days and you still hadn’t said a word about the Yule Ball to Cedric. No, rather than risking you running your mouth at him again, you had taken to avoiding him and you did it like a champ. Switching seats in classes, picking up extra credit assignments, eating your meals in the kitchens. It was all fine and dandy until Cedric picked up on it by the second day; and you really thought that you were in the clear.
You spoke to Professor McGonagall about an essay that you didn’t do quite well on after class, assuming that Cedric had filed out with the rest of the group.
“I think that you could use some extra help,” McGonagall claimed. She looked over your shoulder, waving someone on from behind you. You wished you hadn’t turned around. “Mr. Diggory is one of my top students and I’m sure that he’d be willing to provide tutoring to you, wouldn’t you, Mr. Diggory?”
Cedric nodded profusely. “Absolutely, professor. You know, with classes over for the day, we can get started now. Do you mind if Miss (Y/L/N) and I use the classroom, professor?”
“I’m actually busy!” you practically shouted. McGonagall jumped while Cedric eyed you with confusion, causing you to cringe. “Sorry, I, um, am helping Professor Trelawney with some of her younger students today. Maybe another time.”
Your eyes glued to the floor as you scurried from the room, blocking out Cedric’s cries after you. It wasn’t until you made it to Trelawney’s room that you felt like you could breathe again.
“Three days!” your friend Beatrice reminded you. “If I have to see you pine over Diggory three more days then I might as well lose it. Ship me off to Azkaban!”
“Be quiet, would you!” you whispered hotly, tugging at her robe sleeve. “Anyone could hear you!”
“Merlin, that would be a miracle! Then someone could solve this for you― they could just tell the boy that you fancy him instead of going back and forth on an obvious decision.”
You scoffed. “Obvious decision? And what would that be?”
“Are you being thick on purpose? Just tell him how you feel! Poor boy is mad about you anyway.” You stopped Beatrice midstride.
“Mad about me? Really?” Rings of blush formed on your cheeks. “What makes you think so?”
“He only really listens to you. Do you think if I asked him not to enter the tournament that he would’ve listened? Absolutely not!”
You scuffed your heeled feet on the stone tiling. “Yeah, but I’m persuasive. I haven’t known him half as long as you have.”
Beatrice moved her hands erratically to emphasize her words. “That’s exactly my point! Diggory has been friends with you for what? 3 years, maybe? And he acts like he’s known you your whole life. Don’t stand here and pretend that the boy doesn’t like you even a little.”
Your heart swelled. Maybe Beatrice had a point. Even if he did like you, you were still nervous about asking him to the ball. Beatrice seemed to sense that uncertainty in you and placed a comforting hand on your shoulder.
“Worst he’ll do is say no. And if he does say no, pretend like you were asking him as a friend.”
Ah, Beatrice. Always with the sage wisdom.
Her words were the reason that you darted into the Hufflepuff common room in hopes of spotting a familiar mop of blond curls. However, he was nowhere to be seen. You huffed, exiting the common room. As soon as you stepped out, you heard voices down the hall. You hated eavesdropping but you felt as if your feet were bolted the floor, leaving you no choice but to listen.
“I know why you’re so nervous around me,” Cedric’s voice sounded, echoing all around you.
“Why’s that?” an unfamiliar girl’s voice replied.
“You fancy me, don’t you?”
“I...what?”
Your heart dropped into your stomach. You felt as if you were going to be sick. Every part of your body screamed for you to run but you still couldn’t move.
“I fancy you, too,” admitted Cedric. “Would you go to the ball with me?”
Hot tears pooled in your eyes and you finally were able to pull yourself away, darting back into the common room. You marched up the stairs to your dorm, cheeks turning red from embarrassment at all the eyes on you. Once you made it to your bed, you drew the curtains, reprimanding yourself for being so foolish to think Cedric Diggory would ever like you back.
The Yule Ball was tomorrow and you weren’t going. Not with Cedric, not with your friends, not by your lonesome. You just wouldn’t do it. You didn’t think you could bear the sight of Cedric with another girl. It was unfair to him, really, because you should be happy for him― he was your friend! But you knew it would hurt too much which is why you were in a rotten mood for the day.
“Professor McGonagall, I can work on my essay myself-” you begged. McGonagall tutted, shaking her head.
“Miss (Y/L/N), you don’t get that option anymore. Mr. Diggory and yourself will be working together in my classroom now. I will be in my office if you need me but I expect you two to be working. If this essay is not finished by tonight, you won’t receive a grade for it.”
Your eyes trailed after McGonagall as she left the room, your gaze locking on Cedric at the back. You felt a pit form in your stomach and your mind began to race for an excuse but there was no point; you couldn’t risk failing an essay just because you had a stupidly huge crush on your best friend.
“Hi-”
You barely managed to get your words before Cedric blurted, “I know why you’re so nervous around me!”
You blinked in shock. Wait, didn’t Cedric say that to the girl last night? You pushed down that memory, not wanting to dredge up your sorrows in front of the person who caused them. Everything that was going on was a whole new range of terrible. So instead of focusing on how awful and anxious you felt, you cleared your throat and asked, “Why’s that?”
Way to avoid the topic, you scolded yourself.
You swore you saw Cedric let out a sigh of relief. He sucked in a sharp breath, exhaling as if he were trying to calm himself down.
“You fancy me, don’t you?”
Nope, time to run. In fight or flight, you were almost always flight. As you ran towards the door and pushed past Cedric, your body went rigid recalling the memory from two nights ago. You slowly turned around, cocking your hip as you studied the boy in front of you.
“Okay, what is this? Some sort of prank?” you hissed. Now it was Cedric’s turn to be shocked.
“Pardon?”
“I heard you with some girl the other night saying the exact same thing. I’m not a practice dummy, Cedric. You could really hurt someone’s feelings.”
“You heard me?”
“Not by choice,” you grumbled.
“I was practicing asking you out! Cho was pretending to be you.”
You scoffed. “Yeah, and next thing you’ll be saying is you want to take me to the Yule Ball, too.”
“Yes!” he exclaimed.
He walked up to you so your faces were only inches apart. You held your breath at the closeness, feeling his own breath fan over your face. The way he smelled drove you absolutely crazy: it was like fresh laundry and grass stains, like vanilla and sandalwood. It overloaded your senses but you feigned calm, acting like it didn’t have you weak in the knees.
“You know, (Y/N),” he whispered, “I get nervous around you, too.”
Before you could respond, Cedric leaned in to place a chaste kiss against your lips. Your eyes were wide with shock. As Cedric pulled away, he began to laugh at your expression.
“Data shows that first kisses typically happen on the first date, but it never gets any more heated than a peck, really, but we haven’t even been on a-”
Cedric silenced your anxious chatter with another kiss and your eyes fluttered shut at the sensation. You finally relaxed into his arms, your own hands snaking around the back of his neck. When he pulled away, you met his eyes with a soft smile.
“Are you a little less nervous now?” he asked. You bit your lip in thought, tilting your head.
“One more for good measure?”

a lot of advanceshippers love to say such bs about Drew even to this day. Drew is not my favorite character & it’s fine to prefer advanceshipping over contestshipping and I kinda like advanceshipping , but some of the things they say are ridiculous! This is not bashing on all advanceshippers or advanceshipping in general, this is just some quotes (not exact) I’ve seen that I’ve had problems with.
”Drew is a jerk! Ash would treat her right!“
Tumblr media
Both would treat her just fine! Drew watches out for her & tells her when Harley is tricking her, saved her friends & brother when she was busy, saves her friends, cheers her up when she’s down, & they both calmly talk to each other when alone.
Besides, there are some things to point Ash being a jerk to her too! Ash yelled at her because he was butthurt he had no boat to get his next gym badge & skips out on watching some of her contest when May even watches him battle regular trainers.
And it’s not like May is an innocent angel herself. She yelled at Ash & Drew for no reason, had her torchic attack Ash, & forced Ash to agree to let her travel with him by bringing up her bike.
I know May & Ash have developed a lot sense than, but so has Drew & y’all are just stuck viewing him how he reacted at the beginning.
”May hates Drew & loves ash!“
Tumblr media
She doesnt hate Drew. At the very worst, she sees him as a friend & has seen him that way by “Who, What, When, Where, Wynut.” Like I said we seen them talk a lot when they run into each other & heck, she even ditched the group, including Ash as he was talking to her, to talk to Drew when she saw Drew. So tell me again how she loves Ash way more than Drew lol!
And in ”Spontaneous Combustion“ May blushes at Drew after he waved and walked off. May never blushed around Ash, even when some weird couple accused her of being Ash’s lover. And there was nothing in that scene that indicates her getting red met something else. She wasn’t sick, doesn’t look mad, didn’t do anything embarrassing, etc... so it looks as if she really likes Drew.
”Drew is a flirts with any girl & would cheat on May, but Ash would never cheat on her!”
Tumblr media
You people have nothing to back this up. Drew had fangirls gushing all over him? May being Norman‘s daughter and probably because she’s referred to as hoenn princess, has a lot of fanboys! In fact, Ash is more likely to cheat on May then Drew dispite him being oblivious, as Drew showed 0 interest in his fangirls & ran from them. If he was such a flirt, he wouldn’t run from fan girls, but would try & you know, FLIRT with them. Drew also showed 0 interest for other girls, & only teases May. You advanceshipper fanbrats (not saying all advanceshippers are fanbrats just the advanceshippers who think this) only pretend he is to make up reasons for May to reject Drew.
”He only likes May for her rack, & wouldn’t care for her if it was flat!“
Tumblr media
Talk about reaching. Drew only stares at her FACE! He never stared at them, & the anime gave her chest 0 focus. He isn’t just some creeper. Despite not being interested in her, he treated Breanna nicely & she was flat. He may just have puppy love/a crush on her, but saying he’s just trying to win her because of her rack is complete bs!
”Think about it, Drew & May would make ugly babies!”
Tumblr media
Based on what? Cuz Drew has green hair? As someone whose least favorite color is green (okay, okay dark/forest green is pretty), I think this is a stupid claim. Even with a weird hair color, there’s a chance the child could be cute, & really beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Hair color is NOT even close to a huge factor to what separates not ugly to ugly. And they don’t have to make babies if they do get together. They can just choose to adopt to help out those who need a home or just happily be with each other with no children at all.
”Drew is in less episodes with May than Ash, so advanceshipping is better & will be canon!”
Tumblr media
🤦‍♀️Misty has the most screen time with ash. By this cruddy ”logic,” Misty & ash (so far) are canon. Yes, misty has much more screen time with ash than May. Misty had all of Kanto, Orange Islands, AND Jhoto with ash... as well as a cameo with ash in Hoenn, and TWO separate cameos in Alola. And at this point, May could have spent more time with Drew. It’s been 4 regions that Ash hasn’t even thought of 1 of her Pokémon after all this time. I’m no pokeshipper, but let’s be real here.
And most of the time Ash & May are on screen, it’s them focusing on their goals/Pokémon. They cheer & encourage each other too, but it’s mostly friendship stuff. Could something happen later on between them to spark love? Sure. But nothing in the anime ever pointed to that. And you can literally say that with Ash and... ANYONE! Like Ash could grow up, met back up with Roxie & they could fall for each other.
When Drew appears on screen, you mostly see hard evidence for contestshipping, weather on Drew’s side, May’s side, or both. Yes, there’s evidence on BOTH sides that they like each other. At best, advanceshipping looks one-sided on May’s side. And even then, it mostly looked that way in the beginning of AG. There’s way more evidence that May likes Drew & vice vesa than with ash & May, even with “less contestshipping hints!“ A lot of hints for shippings are overblown. Not just advanceshipping hints, but poke/pearl/negai(actually never mind, negai is under looked & over hated)/amour/etc... are over blown & it’s just ash being his usual nice/childish self. With Drew, it’s obvious he likes her as how he constantly stares at her, teases her, gives her red roses (& says they’re for beutifly), etc... While I think I covered how May likes Drew enough already. And yes, this could just be a kiddy crush for the both of them, but in the end there’s still harder evidence that Drew & May like each other.
Plus there are a lot of canon fictIonal couples who had less screen time with each other than other characters. Naruhina, ichihime, Hinny, gochi, etc...
“Drew never saves May’s life, unlike Ash!”
Tumblr media
So? May never even tried to saved Ash, like she did with Drew!
Ash has also saved: Angie (who has a more confirmed crush on ash), Dawn, Pikachu (3x I can think of), Chinchar, Lillie (or at least attempts to help a lot of times), Celiebi, Erika’s Gloom, Serena, Misty’s sisters Pokémon, a ton of CotDs & their Pokémon...
And what of those who saved Ash? Misty, Sabrina’s... family photographer, Gary, Iris, Clemont’s father, Zeroara dude, a ton of officer jennys, Pikachu, a lapras, Paul, Drew (ya keep on hating him if it werent for him Ash Brock and Max would probably be dead in that crate Jessie, James & Meowth trapped them in so not even advanceshipping could happen).
“Rivals can’t be dating!”
Tumblr media
Where did you get this bs? Even in the pokeani IN THE AG SERIES this has been proven false. Watch Pasificlog Jam again. Who put you in charge of how couples should work anyways? If a writer wants to have rivals hookup in their story, than they have that freedom to have the rivals hookup regardless how upset you get over it.
“Ash & May kissed in a banned episode, so advanceshipping is canon not contestshipping!”
Tumblr media
Come on guys, they’re 10. The anime creators aren’t gonna have two 10 yr olds kiss on the lips. Its really creepy some person came up with this. No, it’s not creepy cuz I don’t like advaceshipping (I actually like some aspects of it). Again, it’s creepy because they’re 10. If they were like 13+ yrs old, it‘d be okay, but NOT 10. Plus, even Japan is very sensitive when having kissing on the lips happen with kid shows. Even with adults, they censor it/show something else as the kiss happens & just imply it happened. Expecally how they view kissing on the lips in the first place, they ain’t having 2 ten year olds kiss.
And there would be NOTHING to imply that they where going to kiss. Around this time this episode that they kissed claimed to happen (episode 357), Ash & co. where heading to fortree. Nothing ever was implied from the both of them even want to kiss each other. They just where supportive friends of each other with no hinting there where secret feelings or developing feelings from ether of them. Theres also nothing beyond that episode that implied the kiss happened. Because if it did actually happen, I’m sure something like that would impact the next few episodes, but nope no mention of any kiss nor do ash & May act any differently around each other in 358 and beyond. So even if it did happen, it was going to more than likely sink the ship, like it was some akaward thing they did because they were “under the mistletoe“ & afterwards just agreed to be friends & forget about it. The pokemon anime was always about friendship, adventure, and Pokemon themselves, never romance.
Also episode 357 is “Take This House and Shuppet!” not “A Kiss Under the Mistletoe!“ The Japanese episode is the same as the English barring names & episode number.
Were do you get such a sorce for this info? “my friend’s japanese friend who talked to the director of the AG anime & saw it!” or some other ridiculous unreliable garbage like that? Give me actual sources with interviews from the writers talking about this supposed banned episode. Bet you can’t, unless it’s fake & unreliable. If it existed, it would have floated up by someone from Japan. After All, even if for 20 mins that episode should’ve existed if it was just banned. Like “Electric Soldier Porygon” was banned completely & only aired one time in Japan. However, there are places that you can watch the episode despite it being completely banned due to putting a lot of children in the hospital from seizures. That was older than the supposed advanceshipping kiss episode as ’Electric Soldier Porygon’ is a Original Series episode in Kanto the 38th episode. No one can find this supposed advanceshipping episode nor is it even listed in the banned episode list. It should be harder to find this older banned episode than it should be to find this supposed banned kiss episode.
“Why should May choose Drew over Ash? Ash is like a literal god!”
Tumblr media
What? Yes, he’s befriended every legendary & come back though poketears, save the world so many times, has arua abilities (he rarely uses), & whatever else, but it’s not like he seems that BA or whatever. Ash not aging seems over focused on, when in reality NO ONE is aging. It took him 7 regions to win 1 league (a questionable one at that), can’t remember Pokémon he seen before & sometimes forgets what he learned, & needs saved by others sometimes. Some god, can’t even rescue himself. Besides, who knows what Drew has done on his adventures. Drew has also saved Ash, Brock, & Max from trouble, isn’t Drew awesome saving someone ”like a god!”? Drew also has beat him in a battle as well, is that y’all’s problem?
And where is Ash’s voice in all this? It’s like this in all this anti-Drew bs. “Drew is just this terrible creature who possesses all 7 deadly sins & is the creation of Giratina & thus May hates & so does everyone else! However... blessed by Arceus himself, we all just know not dense Ash Ketchem is waiting to sweep May off her feet & save her from the demonic spawn that is Drew who is lusting after her bewbs😡” (<-original ideas, do not steal jkjk). Like there’s NOTHING to indicate ash wants her. And do you think this of May as well? Like do y‘all think May is just this perfect, sweetest, most divine woman in the pokeani that only Ash “blessed by Arceus“ is the only guy that should be blessed by such an angel? 🤣
Look, I like Ash & I like May. But even with my favorite characters I wouldn’t go as far as to think so highly of them that it makes Helga’s obsession with Arnold look like nothing. And just because Ash is more amazing with more feets & whatever, doesn’t mean May has to love ash or that Ash has to choose may because Drew doesn’t measure up to him.🤷‍♀️ Just think about it, should Timmy’s mom go with Dinkleburg? After all, he is smarter than Timmy’s dad, has more money & is more successful than he is. And Wandesemo is more popular, not stupid, & mostly competent unlike Casmo. Should Wanda dump Casmo for him? Of course i understand wanting the best person to end with you’re favorite character. But that’s not how love works & in the long run isn’t fair to both Ash & May (& Drew, but I know you haters don’t care about that).

title: honeysuckle pairing: settsu banri/fem!reader rating: m (mature) premise: contrary to popular belief, there exist certain things that not even banri “easy mode” settsu is particularly good at, and that lacking skill just happens to coincide with yours.
Tumblr media
“Settsu-kun…”
Your voice is hoarse with desire when Banri trails a path of fire from the jut your collarbone to the corner of your mouth—a wicked smile ghosting across your feverish skin. When he raises his face to look at you, his sandy hair falls across his face in loose tufts, framing blue eyes that glint with hunger in the receding sunlight. He hovers over your pitiful form, helplessly pliant from where he has you pinned under his weight. Banri always wondered if you would kick his ass if he suggested kissing you on top of your desk in the council room, but the heady look in your eyes subverted his expectations entirely.
“Please,” you breathe, lips parted with need as you tug on the lapels of his blazer.
He spares you a soft laugh, dipping his head to nuzzle the crook of your neck—the sweet scent of honeysuckle filling his nose.
“Please what, prez?”
The mirth melts right off his face when he feels you squirming beneath him, raising one of your thighs to massage the growing heat in his trousers. Banri stiffens, the practiced charisma he’s gotten so used to taunting you with falling apart all in a single moment. When you pull him down to slant his mouth on top of yours, he’s too stunned to reciprocate but you’re too consumed by your own lust to notice.
“Please, I...I need you.”
Tumblr media
Breaking his predicament down to the roots, Banri supposes that this all started over a harmless discussion shared between his classmates.
He usually opted to just ignore people whenever they tried to strike up a conversation with him, and when the other party was a little more persistent, he’d scare them off with a single glare. Though he may not have Hyodo’s naturally terrifying disposition, Banri likes to think that he’s intimidating in his own right. He should have just done the usual and told those losers off with an offhand comment before playing hooky somewhere else. Yet, he ended up breaking character, falling prey to a teenage boy’s natural curiosities in the end.
“Kanae-chan’s adorable when I try to kiss her,” Classmate 1 (Banri doesn’t really bother remembering their names) bragged with stars in his eyes. “She turns all red and says she doesn’t want me to kiss her until she’s the one who initiates instead.”
Classmate 2 pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose with a scoff. (This guy pissed Banri off the most. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but he reminded him of someone—someone annoying.) “You like girls who play hard-to-get? That’s kind of childish. I want someone who knows exactly what they want.”
“You talk like you’ve already kissed someone,” snickered Classmate 3, who slings an arm across Banri’s shoulders despite the latter being a good three inches taller. “What about you, Settsu? With all those girls fawning over you, I doubt you don’t have any experience with any of them.”
Banri frowned, feeling his face flush. “The hell does that mean?”
“Aw, don’t be like that, man! Care to share your secrets with commoners like us? How do you get them wrapped around your finger like that?”
The more Classmate 3 implied that he was Hana High’s local Cassanova, the more Banri had to shove down the embarrassment that was beginning to bubble in his chest. What even gave these guys the idea that he was good at...at kissing? Sure, he was inherently talented in anything that didn’t involve cozying up to another human being, but that didn’t automatically make him a—
“Can you stop talking about girls like inanimate objects?”
Upon hearing your voice, Banri rolled his eyes more out of reflex than anything else. He could count on the student council president to badger him about every aspect of his high school life at the most inconvenient of times. You stood a few feet away from the corner of the classroom they’d claimed for themselves, hands braced on your hips as your brows knit with thinly veiled disgust.
“Prez, it’s not like that,” groaned Classmate 1. “I swear, you’re too uptight; always hounding people at the vaguest sign of disrespect—”
“So you do admit to disrespecting women.” You narrowed your eyes.
Classmate 3 sighed, peeling away from the group as he scratched his head irritably. “No wonder everyone else thinks you’re annoying. C’mon, guys. She isn’t worth arguing with.”
As your classmates stalked back to their own seats, Banri’s shoulders eased with finally being spared from their frivolous questions. He nearly made a beeline for the door so he could take a nap at the rooftop, but he caught the frown tugging on your lips from the corner of his eye, momentarily stunting his plans.
Not having any real sympathy for you, Banri merely sighed. “If you don’t want to be called annoying then stop being annoying.”
He left the classroom before you could offer up any sort of response, shutting the door behind him with more force than necessary. A bunch of girls from other classes greeted him on his way to the stairwell, earning themselves an irritated look from him that they responded to by giggling into their hands. What the hell was up with these people? Do they like asshole delinquents by default?
When he finally made it to the solitude of Hana High’s rooftop, he climbed the ladder placed right next to the door. Banri hoisted himself up with ease, sighing with satisfaction as he laid beneath a rake of warm sunlight. It was a bit cloudy today, plunging his surroundings in a temperature comfortable enough to lull him to sleep. But just when he was about to toe the boundary between slumber and consciousness, the sound of the door below creaking on its hinges reeled him back into awareness.
Banri strained his ears, hearing only one set of footsteps that paced around for a few moments before the door swung shut once again. He relaxed, convinced that whoever was about to interrupt his siesta had already gone—only to be caught off guard when someone emerged from the ladder.
“What the…” He scrambled to sit upright, squinting at the intruder. “What’re you doing here, prez?”
You swallowed thickly, averting your eyes from his scrutinizing gaze before hesitantly walking over to take a seat beside him. Banri observed you with rapt attention, watching as you pulled your knees to your chest—resting your chin on the ridge in between.
“You’ve never kissed a girl in your life, have you?”
He practically choked on the next breath he drew, causing you to whip your head to stare at him with concern lining your eyes. Banri muttered some half-hearted apology as he collected himself, wondering if he’d even heard you right. But the earnest look on your face told him that he really didn’t just hallucinate that. How the hell did you single him out anyway?
“What’s it to you?” he parried defensively, hyper aware of what little distance sat between the both of you.
You weren’t facing him yet Banri could make out the beginnings of a smile on your side profile. “Nothing, really. I just wanted to strike a deal.”
“W-What could you possibly want?”
Out of all the things he’d expected for the student council president to do, the last thing on his list would be this: you turning to him with an unreadable look, shifting from where you sat as you gently trailed your fingers on the side of his face. Your skin was burning despite the tenacity of your actions, but Banri couldn’t bring himself to pull away.
Your eyes fluttered underneath thick lashes, lips lightly swelled into a pout.
“Settsu-kun...do you want to practice kissing with me?”
Tumblr media
As a high schooler, Banri had a lot of firsts that he was yet to conquer. It was normal, and it wasn’t like he was in a rush to tick all the checkboxes for the sake of bragging rights. But his first kiss and the first girl whose house he would be intruding on came barreling into his life far sooner than he’d anticipated.
Your mattress was much softer than the one he had in the Mankai dorms, accommodating his body almost snugly. The soft glow of the twilight outside snuck into the room through the cracks in the curtains, but the ambience was the last thing on his mind right now.
“Is...is this okay?”
Banri couldn’t help the smirk that hooked across his lips, relishing in the embarrassment that painted itself on your face. Although he was just as flustered with the knowledge that a girl was straddling him on her bed, he was better at hiding his discomposure than most.
“I think so,” he offered, testing the waters by placing both of his hands on your hips. “Are you okay?”
“W-Why wouldn’t I be?” you muttered, unsure of where you should place your hands so you flop them over your chest instead.
He laughed softly, remembering all the bad porn movies he may or may not have come across at some points in his life (except he’ll cap this escapade at the kissing). This was the part where he should encourage you a little, right? With some newfound eagerness, he hiked his hands up your back, tugging you down without warning. You yelped in surprise, hands floundering around until they’re splayed on either side of his face. Banri’s mouth twitched into a sordid smile when he felt each bated breath you made fan across his skin.
“This is the first time I’ve seen you make a face like that.”
You sputtered, the redness on your cheeks worsening. “Stop saying embarrassing things, Settsu-kun!”
“You’re pretty cute, aren’t you?” Banri chuckled, trailing his hand on the back of your head as he twined your hair in his fingers. “We’ve come this far and you’re still embarrassed?”
Just before you could make the motions to hop off of him altogether, Banri’s grip on your head turned rigid, forcing you to meet his smoldering gaze. You let out a surprised squeak—a sound he found adorable, but was too occupied to comment on.
“Do you really want this?”
His voice was decibels softer than usual, an earnest look creasing on his brow. Though he came off strongly at times, Banri had seen Masumi fawn over the director enough to get a proper grasp on the concept of consent. Even if you were a perpetual thorn on his side, he’d never want to make you do anything your mind wasn’t a hundred percent sure of. The fact that you were the one to propose this whole arrangement didn’t change that.
Hesitation crossed your meek features, eyes inching away from his despite his firm hold on you. Banri breathed out a long breath, surrendering his tight grip as a last-minute apology rested on his tongue.
“I do.”
Before he could even form a proper response, you’d already screwed your eyes shut, dipping your face down to mold your lips on top of his.
Banri’s brain blanked out for a few moments, nothing but static feedback ringing in his ears. But he was quick to kickstart his senses back to life. One second, the featherlight weight of your kiss incapacitated him from coherence, and in the next, he suddenly knew how to put his hands to good use. He used his right to cradle your cheek, and his left to tug your head impossibly close. At this point Banri was probably grappling at the vague stories about a romance game Itaru once told him of in passing. Wait, why the hell was he thinking of Itaru when he was literally kissing—
When you pulled away, he hadn’t noticed the way your fingers curled around the front of his shirt, but he did notice the forlorn look that befell your face.
The laugh that escaped you was hollow. “I’m that bad, huh?”
“What are you talking about?” Banri’s voice was far more guttural than he’d intended it to sound. “I don’t think I’m any good at this shit either, if that makes you feel better.”
You began to peel yourself away, and this time Banri opted not to stop you when you sat on the edge of your bed. He barely registered the sigh that you let out over the sound of his chest pounding into his ears. Despite you claiming it was a bad kiss, the prickling sensation that bristled on his lips begged to differ.
He...kind of liked it.
“Settsu-kun, it’s getting kind of late,” you pointed out, and Banri didn’t miss the way your voice trembled. “You should probably head—”
“Can I kiss you again?”
Slowly, you turned your head to face him, eyes blown with surprise. “What?”
Banri shifted on your bed, crawling closer to you as he imitated the same thing he did in the heat of the moment, cradling your face once again with a gentle hand. His eyes shot back to the curve of your lips, much pinker after that little kiss.
Boldly, he repeated, “Can I kiss you again?”
He liked to think that it was relief that glazed over your eyes in the few seconds that passed before you careened into his touch, pressing your mouth back to his. Banri had a bit more initiative the second time around, languidly moving his lips against yours in a rhythm that he hoped could translate into his actions. But the two of you were still woefully out of sync—teeth clacking awkwardly, not knowing where to place your hands; the list went on.
But apart from the half-second breaks as the two of you drew shaky breaths, neither of you pulled away from the other.
Sometime in between those hasty kisses, he’d finally timed himself with your own pace. When he snaked a strong arm around your waist, it seemed to catch you off guard and Banri took advantage of the gasp you breathed against his mouth by kissing you even deeper. The press of your tongue against his coaxed a soft mewl rumbling in your chest—one that sent dangerous shivers skidding down the length of his spine.
Banri wasn’t sure how long he’d been making out with you on your bed, but by the time he made himself aware of his surroundings, the room had already darkened several shades and you somehow ended up lying back on the mattress with both legs dangling over the edge. This time he was the one peering at you from above, palms planted on either side of your head as he completely took in your disheveled appearance.
The collar of your uniform was rumpled, lips swollen and parted as you heaved one deep breath after another. He could tell your eyes were unfocused—or rather, so hyper-fixated on one thing that you couldn’t bring yourself to pay attention to anything else.
He could feel his own lips twitch with anticipation.
But despite the heat that coiled in his gut, fueled by the desire to just lose himself to the feel of your inexperienced yet mind-shattering kisses, he shakily got back on his feet.
Banri wanted nothing but to wipe off the disappointment that eclipsed your vehemence in the next second, but he told himself that if he indulged you even more, he might just lose control. Turning away, the actor patted down his clothes, carding his fingers through his sweat-stricken hair as he forcibly leashed his heart back into repose. Calm down, you little—
“Will you ever come over again?”
The question came with such an innocent tone that Banri suddenly felt all kinds of obscene. He hesitated, casting you a sidelong glance. You were seated upright now, but your hair was still mussed from all the tugging and pulling he’d done. The way your face was still flushed from your little session didn’t help in anchoring his sanity, either.
Somehow, he managed to mask all the emotions that clashed behind his eyes with an easygoing smile.
Banri leaned back down, breathing in the sweet and heady scent of your shampoo—his next words ringing like a promise.
“I will.”
Tumblr media
He wasn’t sure what made him think that things would be any different when you both saw each other again at school the next morning. Omi definitely noticed the spike in Banri’s disposition when he slid a plate of fresh toast and eggs over to him on the dining table—asking if everything was alright at school. Taichi wondered the same thing, while Juza opted not to comment on it. Although Banri could feel the bizarre look his rival cast his way, he strangely decided not to antagonize him for it. Even Sakyo was freaked out when he greeted the older man with a chipper, “Mornin’, Sakyo-san.”
But Banri’s pleasant mood ultimately depleted when he ran into you in the hallway.
“Hey, prez,” he spoke with a flirtatious drawl that he hadn’t intended to make. “How are you on this fine morning?”
Instead of the blushing mess he’d reduced you into the previous day, you assumed the mask of pensiveness you’d worn on literally every day since you assumed your position.
“Settsu-kun, how many times do I have to tell you to abide by the school’s dress code? The rules are there for a reason, you know.”
Even your voice was stone cold. Banri frowned, pouting a little as he slung his bag over his shoulder. If you were going to revert back to your usual dynamic, so be it.
“Never gave a damn about ‘em,” he muttered, brushing past you without another thought.
Tumblr media
You practically ignored each other for the rest of the week.
Banri knew that segregating work from play was an essential ability that an adult needed to have up his sleeve. But, given that he was months away from turning legal, he let himself wallow in his own pettiness for the meantime.
He was overreacting. He knew he was, but who could tell? It wasn’t like he wasn’t already skipping classes in the past. The only difference was this time, he was actively avoiding someone (read: you). But instead of hanging around on the rooftop, where he knew you could find him, Banri just decided not to go to school altogether.
Being the voice of reason among the Hana High boys, Sakuya reprimanded him for it every single time, but Banri waved away his concern—insisting he’d still be at the top of his class despite being a truant. But of course, slipping away from Sakuya’s wellspring of concern wasn’t as easy as it seemed.
“Banri-kun.”
He was just about to shut the front door when Izumi’s I-know-you-did-something-so-you-better-fess-up voice greeted him. Banri felt a chill run across his skin, the director harboring an uncharacteristically pissed off look on her face.
“Hey, director-chan,” he managed, trying his best to skirt away from you. “Um, I gotta—uh, take a quick dump. Is someone using the—”
“What is this I hear about you playing hooky?” She narrowed her eyes, folding her arms across her chest. “I thought we agreed that you’d cut that out already.”
That damn Sakuya.
Banri fell silent for a couple of moments, standing his ground against the almost-glare that Izumi was sending his way. But after a few moments, he felt her stringent gaze ease up.
“Is something the matter?”
He sighed. How the hell was he supposed to lie through his teeth when Izumi used her mother hen voice?
“It’s nothing,” he insisted. “I just...I don’t—ugh. Someone’s been avoiding me and I don’t know how to deal with it.”
Izumi blinked, not expecting for him to cave so easily. Nonetheless, she offered up a reassuring smile, patting the younger boy’s shoulder soothingly. “Well, I don’t know what’s going on but I’m pretty sure you won’t solve any of your problems by avoiding them, too. Have you tried talking to them?”
“Talking…?”
“Yes, talking. You know, the thing you do when you want a certain point to come across to another person?”
That incited a soft laugh from him, shaking his head. “Who knew you could be a funny guy, director-chan? The Summer Troupe might just recruit you.”
Mustering up a laugh of her own, Izumi rolled her eyes. “I’ve dealt with men like you in the past, you know. Based on experience, you wouldn’t have half the problems you have now if you just talked it out with the person concerned.”
“You’re not talking about the old man, are you?” Banri teased with one eyebrow raised.
Her reaction had no delay. “S-Sakyo-san has nothing to do with this!”
As Izumi flung the front door open in her haste, closing it behind her without a glance his way, Banri shook his head with amusement. He didn’t even drop any names. Nonetheless, the director’s piece of advice echoed in the back of his head even when he was already lying in the comfort of his own room.
Blue eyes peeked from behind the curtains draped across his window as he watched the sun slowly dip into the horizon. Banri briefly wondered if you were witnessing the same thing.
“Talking, huh…”
Tumblr media
“Settsu! There you are, you little fiend.”
His first day back (again), and the first person that met him at the gates was the guidance counselor, Azumi. Banri waved a quick farewell to Sakuya and Masumi before begrudgingly dragging himself to his teacher’s side.
“Did you miss me, sensei?” he joked, hoping to lighten up the mood. “I bet it’s gotten quiet since I—”
“You’re on marshal duty with the student council. They want a tough guy like you to round all the troublemakers up.” Azumi didn’t even bother scolding him anymore, merely handing him a red bandana with the word MARSHAL hastily scribbled with a black marker. “You can meet (Surname) at the council room so she can give you the breakdown of duties. Go on, now. Everyone’s doing their share for the school festival.”
Now that he’d mentioned it, Banri just noticed all the students milling around the courtyard. Some were carrying props to a makeshift stage in the quadrangle, and others strung decorations on the entrances to the school buildings. He’d been so caught up in his own sulking that he forgot about the school festival.
“Sure thing,” he responded with some semblance of enthusiasm as he pocketed the bandana.
Banri made the trip to the council room at a leisurely pace. He wasn’t at all in a rush, given that, despite the time he’d spent away, he still had no idea what to say once he saw you again. A bitter part of himself insisted that he didn’t have to go through all the trouble, since he didn’t seem to mean anything to you in the first place.
When he twisted the knob, muttering a quick greeting to whoever was present inside, he was surprised to see that you were the only one occupying the council room right this second.
You were nose deep into some paperwork when you spoke to him without looking up. “Oh, Kasumi, when you get back to the stage—”
“I’m afraid I go by Settsu, prez.”
The startled look that painted itself on your face was so comical, Banri had to resist the urge to pull out his phone to snap a picture. For a few moments, the room was plunged into thick silence as you gawked at him like he’d just grown two heads. Had you stared any longer, Banri would have used it as an opportunity to slip in some sly remark, but instead, you shot up from your seat—pacing the short distance that separated you before engulfing him in the warmth of your arms.
Banri let out a startled noise, internally panicking. What the fuck? Why the hell were you hugging him? But he couldn’t resist the urge to reciprocate your affections, shakily returning your embrace in spite of his embarrassment.
“Weren’t you avoiding me?” he muttered.
You flinched away from him, and he noticed the moisture that gathered on the lines of your lashes. A brief shot of guilt lanced through his chest. Did...did he do that?
“You’re the one who suddenly just disappeared after... that,” you sniffled, wiping your tears away with the back of your hand.
Banri breathed in sharply, reaching one hand up to brush your face with delicate fingers. “You were so cold to me the day after. Here I thought I was just a one-time thing for you.”
“Shut up. I just...didn’t know how to react.” You untangled your arms from his lean frame, curling your fists over his chest instead. “I even asked if you were coming over again, didn’t I?”
He found himself smiling fondly at the petulant look you sent his way. No one was as adorable when you made that face. With a familiar flare of courage surging in his veins, he leaned down to ghost his breath against your jaw—delighting at the shiver that racked your body.
“Do you want me to make it up to you?”
Your breath hitched somewhere in your chest, but the slightest tug you made on his clothes was all the confirmation he needed. Without warning, Banri switched your positions—nearly slamming you against the door to the council room as he braced his palms against the vertical surface. You winced at his urgency, seeming like you were about to tell him off, but he claimed your lips in his before you could utter out a single word.
The helpless whimper that you muffled against his mouth shot straight to his core, making him groan in approval when you tangled your fingers in his silky hair. Banri unknowingly pressed his knee in between your legs, forcing them apart as he continued licking into your mouth. The breathless calls for his name made this little escapade all the more dizzying; making him yearn for more.
Banri didn’t even count how many kisses it took to satisfy you—the only things filling his frazzled brain being the addicting plumpness of your lips and the sweet scent of your hair. (He wasn’t kidding about the last part. He’d have to ask you about your shampoo some other time.) And he would have continued ravishing you against the council room’s door had it not been for the three subtle knocks that reverberated from the other side.
“(Surname)-senpai, the vice prez is asking for the complete class lists for the second year students,” a gentle, feminine voice called out.
Your eyes widened in a panic, and Banri could only let out some muted chuckles as he lazily latched his lips on the column of your throat—nipping at your skin with a smirk.
“I-I left the folder with Secretary Ame. Could you look for him for me, Kasumi—hah!”
Oops. He didn’t mean to bite down that hard.
“Senpai, are you okay?”
“Y-Yes! Please don’t come in I’m—um, changing!” Banri had to admit that you sounded quite convincing there. “I’ll join you guys in the courtyard a little later.”
“Hm? Alright, if you say so.”
As he practically felt the relief wash over you, Banri breathed an airy laugh against your skin before wrapping his arms around your waist—tugging you closer. “Nice save, prez. You were almost subjected to the scandal of a lifetime: Hana High’s goody-two-shoes student council president caught in the act with the local delinquent. Now that’s a headliner.”
Chuckling at his whimsical words, you leaned up on the tips of your toes to plant a soft, fleeting kiss on his lips. Banri immediately felt his face flare up with heat.
“If it’s you I wouldn’t mind.”
Banri knew that people say things they don’t mean all the time. Even he did that to others. But even when the two of you had become engrossed with keeping everything in line for the school festival, those last few words you shared with him in the council room haunted him for the rest of the day.
Tumblr media
Omitting the part that he was doing it with you, the person who was only second to Azumi-sensei in setting him straight, this whole thing was a pretty sweet deal. He’d come over to your place every now and again to “practice” kissing, and that was one more addition to Banri “Easy Mode” Settsu’s ridiculous repertoire.
Although, he’d failed to factor in one thing before agreeing to your proposal.
You almost always had your house to yourself—the reason behind it being your parents often working late into the night. Banri didn’t mind, since the last thing he wanted was to be chased out of the house by an angry father wielding a kitchen knife. But there were times, much like this one, where he wished someone would barge into the door to personally kick him out. To yell some sense into his thick skull, because when you fell asleep on his shoulder while both of you lounged in the living room, he couldn’t help but stare.
He’d gotten so accustomed both the tough demeanor you showed him in public and the needy look in your eyes in private, that Banri didn’t think that he would still be surprised by new sides of you he was yet to discover. That realization only set once he observed how vulnerable you looked—trusting him enough to fall asleep in his company. Not that you had a reason not to. He was just a little... touched was all.
It’s been a good few weeks since you’d agreed to be ‘practice partners’, and Banri was beginning to think of the crunching days left before graduation. He used to be so ready to just get high school over with since it was boringly easy. But that was before he’d joined Mankai Company; before he let the student council president ruffle his feathers like this.
And with each shallow breath you drew, Banri counted all the times he began to think he was falling in love with you.
It was natural, wasn’t it? To catch feelings for someone he’d invited so close into his personal space? Sure, the two of you kind of did everything backwards, but you at least liked him enough to keep him around. It wasn’t too outlandish to maybe ask you to take...whatever your current relationship was to the next level, right?
Banri’s thoughts were thwarted when you stirred from your nap, gazing around the room with drowsy eyes as you asked him what time it was. He told you it was nearly time for him to leave, since the guys from the dorm might start looking for him, but with a hesitant whine, you snaked your arms around his torso.
“Can you stay a little longer?” you asked, and Banri had to physically look away from your pleading eyes. Goddamn it. You were pretty even after you’d just woken up.
Relenting, he let out a long sigh, praying Sakyo wouldn’t gut him for going home so late again. Banri tilted his face to plant a chaste kiss on the crown of your head, inhaling the familiar scent of sweet flowers in your hair.
“Just five more minutes, okay?”
Tumblr media
“Please, I...I need you.”
With his mind suddenly zipping back into the present, Banri feels the way his heart thunders in his rib cage. He must have made a face because the arousal in your eyes tethers back into reason, a question hovering above them.
“I…” Banri runs out of words before he can even fathom any. Because how the hell can he just say, I need you, too but I’m bound by my own moral principles not to do this until I’ve told you I’m in love with you without scaring you off?
He wants to pretend that he only sees you as a practice partner and nothing else. That he definitely doesn’t look at you with a yearning that he shouldn’t even harbor.
But even if he’s an actor, there are just some things he can’t fake.
Then again...you’re (Surname) (Name). The adorable girl he’s been fooling around with for the past few months. The student council president who climbed up his little private space on the rooftop with the strangest proposal that fell on his ears.
(The same person who weaseled her way into his heart.)
He’s almost too sure he knows you well enough to expect you not to run away from him.
“(Name)...” The syllables tumble from his mouth so naturally, he feels like he never called you anything else before. You blink up at him, the blueprint of pure innocence that you are. He falters for a moment, questioning his own gamble, but when you say his name once more, Banri recovers his resolve.
“There’s something that you need to know.”
Tumblr media
“Banri-kun, we’ll be late for the ceremony!” He can hear Izumi calling out to him from the gates, the urgency in her tone telling Banri to hurry it up. But he’s a little preoccupied in the garden at the moment.
“One sec, director-chan!” he yelled over his shoulder before turning back to Tsumugi. “These are good enough, right?”
His fellow troupe leader nods at him, sporting the kindest of smiles. “Yup. Honeysuckle flowers complement cosmos really well. I didn’t know you had an eye for flower arrangement, Banri-kun.”
“Not really,” he laughs, bringing the hastily put-together bouquet to his nose. Banri inhales the sweet scent he’s caught on your hair several times in the past. It took a little convincing, but you eventually told him what shampoo you used.
“Honeysuckle,” you said, going red in the face. “What are you even going to do with that information?”
Banri scrambles back onto his feet, adjusting the ribbon pinned to his blazer while he cradles the flowers in his arms. He does a few weird poses in front of Tsumugi before asking, “How do I look?”
“Strange. Why are you wearing the proper uniform, necktie and all?”
He nearly yelps in surprise when you emerge into the garden, arms crossed over your chest where you stand right next to Sakuya. Banri sputters a little, making a pathetic attempt at hiding the bouquet from your view as he asks Sakuya what the hell you were doing here.
“No one expected the prez to come over, Banri-kun,” Sakuya swears, stifling a few laughs. “She came on her own accord.”
“Oh?” You raise an eyebrow at Banri, peering behind his back. “Is that for me, Settsu-kun?”
The way you still address him makes his shoulders sag, and Banri grumbles as he hands you the flowers. “Is it so difficult to call your boyfriend by his first name?”
As expected, your face immediately colors itself scarlet at the mention of him being your boyfriend. He doesn’t blame you. He has to tell that to himself over and over so he wouldn’t think he was still dreaming, too.
“F-Fine,” you huff, caressing the vibrant blooms with a gentle finger. “This is really thoughtful of you, Banri-kun. I love them.”
“Anyone else you love?”
You pout, and both Sakuya and Tsumugi let out their own bouts of laughter. Before Banri can gloat about your flustered reaction, your little moment is interrupted by the sound of someone angrily pounding on a car horn. From where he stands, Banri can see Sakyo fuming in the driver’s seat of his car as Izumi placates him outside. Sighing, Banri spares Tsumugi a minute nod before seizing your free hand. You squeak in surprise, but you don’t jerk your hand away either.
“I’m waiting for an answer, prez,” he teases.
Rolling your eyes, you crane your neck up to place a swift kiss on his cheek.
“I love you, Banri-kun. Happy?”
Elated, he thinks to himself, but instead presses his lips to your forehead.
“I love you, too.”

I always got the impression that during Zen breakups, Donna more sided with Hyde than Jackie. What do you think?
Donna is often seen through an undeserved negative lens by a portion of T7S fans. Contradictions in her characterization do exist, thanks to inconsistent writing. But when her behavior, dialogue, and choices are examined closely, her true character is revealed. I do this in the metas linked below.
In Defense of Donna (an essay in eight parts).
In Defense of Donna: Supplemental
In Defense of Donna (Yet Again) in Her Relationship with Eric
Was Donna Mean to Jackie from Throughout Their Relationship?
Analyzing the facts burns away the foundation on which the biases about and misinterpretations of Donna’s character are built. After the cut, I discuss in detail her reactions to Jackie and Hyde’s breakups. She’s a far better person, and friend to Jackie, than is often recognized.
Jackie and Hyde’s first breakup occurs in “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You” (5x14), after Jackie shouts, “Get off my boyfriend!” to Annette about Kelso in the previous episode. Below is Donna and Jackie’s first discussion about it.
Donna: So, have you talked to Hyde about the whole, “Get off my boyfriend,” disaster? Jackie: No! And why is everyone making such a big deal about it? It's like every time I walk into a room, people look at me funny. Donna, how do you deal with it? Donna: Jackie, the reason people are making a big deal about it is because it sounds like you still have feelings for Kelso. Jackie: Well, I don't. I think the only reason I said it was because I was having an allergic reaction to the Formans' cheap, generic soda.
Here, Donna is being supportive of both Hyde and Jackie. She cares about them and their relationship. Jackie, however, has a tendency toward denial and self-delusion, which Donna has experienced extensively. She wants Jackie to be honest with herself, face reality, and not put herself or Hyde through the pain she went through with Kelso during seasons 1-4.
The next time in the episode Donna talks about this situation is with Annette at The Hub.
Annette: Guys, I really think there's some unfinished business between Michael and Jackie. When they were together, did she make him happy? Donna: Well, she totally dominated him and made him feel bad about himself. Annette: I guess what I'm really asking is, was she ever fat or anything?
Donna’s assessment isn’t accurate and nowhere near complete. This is not the fault of Donna but the writers, whose take on Jackie and Kelso is made clear in “Everybody Loves Casey” (4x26). Despite the few concessions the writers make during Jackie and Kelso’s exchange that give Jackie some sympathy, the onus for the toxicity of their relationship is put on Jackie. New “facts” that are never mentioned or shown in the series before this episode are introduced so that Kelso can give Jackie the responsibility for his cheating and the audience will agree with him, at least in part.
Donna’s assessment of Jackie and Kelso’s relationship in “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You” reflects the point of view given in “Everybody Loves Casey”. What actually occurs during seasons 1-4 contradicts this assessment. Jackie encourages Kelso and bolsters his self-esteem (see “The Forgotten Son” [4x09] for one of many examples). She buys him so many presents that he owes her $8,265 in 1977 (see “Baby Fever” [3x07)], which is the equivalent to $35,525 today (due to inflation).
Yes, Jackie also berates him, but she most often does so when he mistreats her by lying, cheating, and generally disrespecting her. She also tries to control him in certain situations, like how many of her stuffed animals she’ll keep in his van or refusing to break up with him when he asks to in “Red’s Last Day” (2x02).
But the so-called total domination Donna claims Jackie had over Kelso is false. If it were true, Kelso never would’ve cheated on her with Pam Macy, Laurie, a girl from Sacred Heart. He wouldn’t have avoided her for a week after the first time they have sex or treat her like a servant once he gets in contact with her again. He wouldn’t have ignored her many nos about having sex until she’s exhausted by his relentlessness and given into what he wants. The list goes on.
The point, though, is that real!Donna would not have said Jackie “totally dominated [Kelso] and made him feel bad about himself.” Real!Donna -- who’d tried to get Jackie to break up with cheating Kelso then stay broken up with him -- would have said that Jackie and Kelso made each other miserable and that it wasn’t a healthy relationship for either of them. This assessment would have given Annette, a virtual stranger, enough information without betraying Jackie’s privacy.
Jackie enters The Hub soon after this conversation.
Jackie: Donna, Steven broke up with me. Donna: Oh, Jackie, I'm sorry.
Donna is sincere in her compassion. She doesn’t say, “You deserved it,” or, “What did you expect?” Her friend is hurting, and Donna feels for her.
This is the last interaction between Donna and Jackie before Jackie and Hyde reconcile in this episode. Donna’s empathy is obviously for Jackie. We get no scenes between Donna and Hyde or dialogue from Donna that shows she believes Hyde is in the right for breaking up with her. She just wants Jackie to recognize why Hyde might feel hurt by Jackie calling Kelso her boyfriend.
Jackie and Hyde’s next breakup happens in “Nobody’s Fault but Mine” (5x23). Kelso tells Donna about Hyde sleeping with the nurse.
Kelso: [Hyde] doesn’t know it but I saw him kissing this lady at the hotel. Donna: Oh, my God, that’s horrible. Kelso: I wanna do the right thing, right? So I’m thinking that I’ll just tell Jackie, and then she’ll feel really bad. Then I’ll console her, and -- presto! -- we’re making out topless! Donna: No, Kelso! The thing to do is to tell Hyde that you know and then give him a chance to tell Jackie.
Again, Donna is concerned for the well-being of both Jackie and Hyde and their relationship. She cares about both of them, but Hyde’s behavior / choice is likely incomprehensible to her at this point.
Once Jackie breaks up with Hyde and the full truth is out, Hyde calls Jackie at Donna’s. Donna wants Jackie to talk to him, but Jackie hangs up the phone, and Donna pleads Hyde’s case
Donna:  I think this whole thing was a misunderstanding. Hyde didn’t know what was going on. Jackie: I know, okay? But after Michael, I promised myself that I would never be with another boy who cheated on me. Donna: But Hyde’s so good for you. Since you started dating him you’ve completely stopped quoting Nancy Drew.
Donna’s point of view, again, reflects the writers’ -- that Hyde’s transgression is a “stupid, one-time thing.” If Hyde had actually been written as real!Hyde during this episode and arc (after sleeping with the nurse), he would’ve put Jackie’s pain and feelings ahead of his own, shown true and lasting contrition along with self-awareness, and not expect forgiveness.
Donna’s argument would be much stronger if Hyde hadn’t displayed similar behavior to Kelso’s in season 2 (e.g., acting entitled to Jackie’s forgiveness and growing hostile toward her when he doesn’t get it in his desired time frame). Hyde’s relationship with Jackie does inspire her to grow and change, but that doesn’t negate his betrayal of her -- or vice versa.
Donna needed to give Jackie empathy in this moment rather than try to fix what Hyde had broken, but she does so right after Jackie rejects Donna’s argument to give Hyde a chance. Jackie cries on her shoulder, and Donna holds her during it.
Before Jackie and Hyde reconcile in “Join Together” (6x02), Donna continues to point out the positive effect Jackie’s relationship with Hyde had on Jackie. She’s neither Team Jackie nor Team Hyde. She’s Team Jackie-and-Hyde. She’s supportive of and compassionate toward Jackie while also maintaining faith in Hyde’s innate goodness.
Donna believes that Hyde, at his core, isn’t a cheater. That he isn’t Kelso, but this doesn’t excuse Hyde’s transgression. What’s missing during this breakup arc is a scene where Donna confronts Hyde about what he did, why he chose to act out instead of talk to Jackie, and where she tells him he has to own his crap. This would have connected nicely story-wise (or grown out of) the lessons she should have learned with Eric in season 5 had the show not rushed into their engagement arc.
Donna could have brought up Hyde’s childhood, the source of his deep fear of abandonment, and how he allowed this fear to seep into his relationship with Jackie. Hyde, then, might have admitted he’d fallen for Jackie when she’d chased him back in season 3 and felt betrayed by her ultimately rejecting him for Kelso.
Hyde: I guess that crap came up again when she became my girlfriend. Part of me always believed she’d always go back to him.
Unfortunately, the writers didn’t make these story and character connections, and the characterization and story suffered because of it.
During Jackie and Hyde’s season 7 breakups, Donna behaves similarly as described above. She’s Team Jackie-and-Hyde. She supports both her friends and believes they’re happiest (and best) when together. She brings Jackie to her martial arts class to get out her rage at Hyde in a healthy way. She consistently teases Hyde about his love for Jackie so he won’t deny it to himself or quit fighting for it. She’s always got a hug for Jackie when she needs it, and she calls Hyde on his B.S. (finally) in season 7.
So, no, Donna doesn’t side more with Hyde over Jackie after their breakups. She an equal friend to both of them, despite the flaws in the writing.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Kiss My Ass!!
Tumblr media
Words: 5,390 Drama, slight angst, a good ending A/N: it’s me! back again with a holiday special.
If you asked anyone to describe Jeon Jungkook in one word, it would always be “loyal”.  He was loyal to his friends, his family, and most especially his girlfriend of 7 years, Elodie. Jungkook had met Elodie on a trip with his family when he was 18. Both of their families had seemingly booked the same tour package of Paris. So for a week straight, Elodie and Jungkook were quite literally inseparable.
Both being freshly 18, they had quite a lot in common, even if Jungkook’s english wasn’t amazing. They still managed to communicate and enjoy each other’s company while their parents enjoyed the wine at every destination.
Somewhere between The Louvre and Versailles, they found an indescribable attraction.
Now, most would say distance would ruin a friendship or relationship, considering Jungkook lived in Busan, South Korea and Elodie lived in some midwestern town in Michigan whose claim to fame was the worlds largest Cherry Pie. However, both of them being determined to form a friendship, made it seem as easy as that cherry pie her hometown was known for.
It didn’t take more than a year for them to realize they both wanted more than friendship, thus they began their journey of a life together. There were many flights between the two, Michigan to Seoul; Seoul to Michigan. Late night phone calls from someone just waking up. Conflicting schedules and many times where they wondered if it would work.
It only took Elodie two years to decide she couldn’t handle the distance. So she packed her life up, said goodbye to the folks, and moved clear across the world to be with the love of her life. Unbeknownst to him, since he had just entered his military service to get it out of the way. With the help of his parents, Elodie found a nice apartment not far from their house.
When Jungkook was discharged, the first face he saw upon leaving was hers. The love that surged through him struck him almost breathless. He loved her with his whole being.
It took one year for them to officially move in together once Jungkook finished school.
One more year before Jungkook popped the big question during the Jinju Lantern Festival that Elodie had begged him to take her to. Of course, Elodie said yes.
Six more months to plan a move to Seoul for a job that Elodie had gotten at an entertainment company as a translator - Jungkook was the best teacher.
And one more year for Elodie to gain some of her closest friends and Jungkook to score his dream job as a physical therapist.
It’s obvious to anyone that Jungkook is loyal.
—————————
“Elodie!” A shout from across the cafeteria pulled Elodie’s attention from the book in her hand to the small blonde boy bounding towards her with a tall red headed woman in tow.
“Jimin! Lani!” Elodie greeted, marking her page before setting her book aside.
Jimin and Lani were two of the people closest to Elodie at work, and two of her very good friends. They had taken Elodie under their wings so to say when she arrived at Big Hit. Jimin and Lani worked as stylists but were on the same team for a boy group called Wild, that had just debuted when she started. Jimin had already been there for two years and Lani was finishing up her first year. If it weren’t for those two, Elodie was almost certain she wouldn’t have survived the hectic schedules.
Jimin sat across from Elodie as Lani took the spot beside her closest friend. “Today has been crazy!” Jimin whined, reaching for Elodie’s untouched coffee.
“Tell me about it, Wild is getting a bit...wild these days. It’s hard to keep up with them in interviews.” Elodie laughed, pushing the cup into Jimin’s searching hand.
“Girl, do not get me started!” Lani chimed in, shaking her head, “if I get one more fan complaint about them all wearing the same clothes I may scream. I can’t just go to the dorms everyday and dress them.” She scoffed and reached for the cup too, “they act like don’t own a thousand and a half outfits.” She finished.
“I wonder where they get it from.” Jimin mused, reaching once again for the now community cup of coffee the three of them were sharing.
Elodie had to suppress a laugh because she knew exactly where they got their bad habit from. The three of them often shared food, drinks, and Jimin and Elodie shared clothes here and there when they were out on long schedules.
That was always something that amused Jungkook to no end, Elodie coming home in a borrowed shirt or pants from Jimin if there were unforeseen circumstances at work. The most recent one being Daniel and Hyun were arguing over who got the last strawberry milk and when Elodie stepped in to hand them one she had found in the cooler, Hyun had swung his arms out and slapped the open milk container and covered her from head to toe in the pink milk. A story Jungkook spent half an hour laughing about as he helped Elodie clean the dry milk from her hair.
Lani’s phone buzzed in her pocket and she pulled it out with a groan, “what did those troublemakers do now?” She said mostly to herself. Her expression changed from annoyed to something Elodie couldn’t quite place. “Ah, I have to take this call.” She said and got up and all but ran from the table.
“Geez, what’s her problem these days?” Jimin huffed, his attention now on the half eaten cinnamon roll in front of Elodie.
Elodie shrugged and pushed the plate to Jimin, offering him the rest of the delicious pastry. “Who knows. I think she might be seeing someone. I caught her talking in the women’s room the other day and she got all flustered and ran from the room.” Elodie wasn’t one to gossip, but whoever has the red heads attention, has to be one hell of a guy and Elodie was curious.
Jimin frowned into the cinnamon roll and didn’t speak anymore until their allotted lunch hour was over.
Elodie made a note that she hadn’t seen Lani for the rest of the day.
—————————
If you asked anyone, they would tell you Jungkook would go to the moon and back for his fiancée.
So on this particular afternoon, when Elodie was running late because of a translation mishap with Wild, she had to call her fiancé for a favor. Nothing major, something seemingly harmless.
“Hello?” Elodie spoke into the phone when she heard someone pick up. A beat passed before Jungkook’s voice rang through.
“Elodie? What’s up? Aren’t you at work?” His voice sounded worried.
“Yeah, I have a quick favor. And before you say no, please just hear me out.” She rushed.
Jungkook urged her to continue, “can you pick Lani up from the train station for me? I’m gonna be running behind and I told her I would pick her up when she got back.” The other end of the phone was silent until Jungkook drew in a breath.
“Yeah. Yeah, I can pick her up.” He agreed easily than Elodie had planned.
“I know you two don’t get along very well, but I can’t get out of work. I wouldn’t ask if I didn’t have to.” Elodie murmured.
“Love, it’s okay. I don’t mind. I had to head that way anyway for a few errands so I don’t mind since it’s for you.” He said sweetly.
Elodie felt her love for Jungkook grow a little bigger as they said their goodbyes and she got back to work.
“You’re awfully brave.” a voice called from behind her.
Elodie turned her head and saw the oldest member of Wild standing in the doorway. “Thank you, Wooyoung. I think?” Elodie seemed unsure of how she was to take that statement.
Crossing the floor and plopping down on the overstuffed chair next to Elodie’s, Wooyoung watched her for a moment before speaking up again, “Do you really trust Lani with your fiancée?” He questioned.
Elodie’s head snapped in his direction and started laughing, “Wooyoung! Of course I do. She’s my best friend and Jungkook is my fiancé. Why wouldn’t I trust them?” She thought the idea was absolutely ridiculous that she wouldn’t.
“I’ve seen a lot of unloyal dogs in my day, even the most loyal can change if a nice pair of tits walk by.” Wooyoung explained, dead serious.
“Who has nice tits?” Jimin called walking into the room with Hyun and Daniel behind him.
Elodie caught the three up on the short conversation between her and Wooyoung. “He’s not wrong, Miss Elodie.” Daniel chimed in. “Men are dogs.”
Elodie exchanged a look with Jimin before the two burst out laughing, “honestly, where do you boys come up with this stuff?” Elodie questioned.
“Don’t say we didn’t warn you.” Hyun said before heading out with the rest of the boys, leaving Jimin alone with Elodie. The two sat in a thoughtful silence for a while as Elodie went over the notes she had on the last interview with the boys to figure out what she had messed up.
“How long have you and Jungkook been together?” Jimin asked.
“Seven years or so,” Elodie answered absentmindedly, her eyes staying on the paper.
She didn’t see the pained look Jimin had on his face, mixed with guilt.
————————————
Elodie and Lani’s friendship didn’t start out easy. Granted even if Lani had been the one to show Elodie the ropes, they had conflicting personalities and interests. Elodie was quiet and soft spoken and enjoyed reading and coffee. Lani was loud and outgoing and enjoyed drinking on weeknights and hooking up with anyone who caught her eye.
Of course, Elodie had been jealous of Lani at first, wishing she had the body or the confidence the red head had to live life to the max. But it had also been Lani who told her that even Elodie’s way of living was living brightly. There was no wrong way to live your life as long as you were doing what you enjoyed.
So when Elodie had brought Lani home to meet Jungkook, she was shocked that the two didn’t get along at all. Jungkook was the first to outright say it, that Lani wasn’t a good person. No explanation. And Lani had glared daggers at Jungkook all night. No explanation.
Elodie felt torn because she didn’t want to be in a position where she had to pick, because at the end of the day it would always be Jungkook; and the two knew that. Quietly accepting her defeat, Lani had told Elodie that she would never force her into a situation where she would have to tell Lani to hit the road. The only thing Jungkook and Lani could agree upon was that they would put up with one another, for Elodie’s sake.
Now, Elodie gazed at her reflection in the bathroom mirror of her apartment. Her black hair hung straight over her shoulders, and her once vibrant green eyes seemed dull in the soft yellow lighting of the tiny room. Her cheeks were smaller than they had been just six months ago, and her skin seemed paler than usual. One thing she knew for sure was that she needed some sleep. She would worry about her beauty later.
Returning to the living room she found Jungkook and Lani in an intense discussion over the coffee table where Elodie had left them. Upon hearing her return the two sat back and easy smiles replaced the tense looks that they sported moments ago.
“Everything okay?” Elodie asked cautiously while returning to her seat next to Jungkook.
“Peachy.” her fiancé gritted between his teeth.
Lani gave Elodie a sad smile and went back to picking at her slice of pizza.
Elodie knew everything wasn’t peachy.
————————————
If you were to ask anyone to describe Elodie, you would get several answers. Answers that ranged from “sweet” to “caring” all the way to “saintly”. Elodie had a big heart, and an even bigger heart for those she held most dear.
Lani and Jimin trailed behind Elodie as she browsed the racks of clothes in the department store. One of them offering fashion advice here or there in her endeavor to pick out the perfect gift for Jungkook for Valentine’s Day.
He had basically everything he could ever want, but Elodie still wanted to get him something nice; something special. Jimin had advised getting him a fancy new coat. Lani had suggested getting something more spicy for the bedroom. Both were good ideas, and Elodie was currently shopping for them.
Since she was too embarrassed to shop for the “something spicy” with her friends, she asked if they would tag along and help her pick out the coat.
“Does he truly deserve this though?” Jimin said out of the blue, his brown eyes never leaving the rack of coats he was currently picking through.
“What do you mean?”, Elodie laughed, “of course he does. He’s been so solid through this last six months in my hectic schedule. He’s been practically a saint.”
“A saint is what I would call you, Elodie, not your fiancé.” Jimin grumbled.
Lani elbowed him in the side and gave him a look Elodie couldn’t quite place. Jimin looked at her and spoke a mumbled apology before moving onto the next rack.
“Pay him no attention, girl. He’s just a little pent up.” Lani giggled into Elodie’s ear. “Oh! What about this one?” Lani picked up a long wool coat. It was black and had gold buttons down the front and at the cuffs of the sleeves. It wasn’t flashy but by no means was it plain; it was exactly Jungkook’s style.
“God! That would be perfect!” Elodie grabbed the coat and held it up to look at it closer, marveling at the quality. She knew she had to get it.
Lani tried to hide the proud smile behind her hand, but Jimin saw it and she rushed to Elodie’s side and out of Jimin’s eyesight.
————————————
If you asked anyone he worked with, they would say Jimin was hopelessly in love with Elodie. Everyone knew it. Except Elodie.
She was too wrapped up in her loving and loyal fiancé to notice the longing stares of one Park Jimin. He wasn’t shy about his distaste for Jungkook and he definitely wasn’t shy to show his feelings for Elodie, but he would never outright say it. See, Jimin had fallen for Elodie when she started at the company; love at first sight. Ever since then he made it his goal to bend over backwards for the petite girl.
When he found out she was engaged, it may have caused a falter in his step on his quest to make his way into her heart; but by no means did it stop him. He wasn’t pushy. He didn’t overstep boundaries. And he definitely didn’t make anything awkward. But he did make it a point to always be there when Elodie needed someone to talk to.
His love for her however, has caused him great misfortune. A while back, Jimin saw something he shouldn’t have seen. God, why did it have to be him? Why did he have to be the one to see it? He had information that could seal the deal and be in Elodie’s heart - but that information was a double edged sword. It could bring him and Elodie closer, or it could put her farther away.
Jimin was selfish, and he knew that. So for now, he sat with this information. Whether or not he chooses to use it has remained to be seen.
————————————
Elodie was busy at work as usual. Her phone constantly going off as she answered calls in regards to certain interviews Wild had lined up. She hadn’t been able to go home in almost 48 hours, and it was starting to get to her.
Despite the crazy schedule happening, she kept note of how many times Lani would sneak off with her own phone, a smirk plastered to her face, to return ten minutes later looking a little dazed. It hadn’t gone unnoticed by Jimin either.
A deep frown was set into his features when Lani came back to the dressing room after twenty-two minutes (Jimin had timed it). “Jesus, Lani. Get it together will you? We have fifteen minutes before the boys go live and you’ve hardly been present! Get their outfits and help them dress.” Jimin barked at her, pausing his movements so he didn’t burn Wooyoung with the flat iron.
Lani’s head snapped in his direction, a retort on the tip of her tongue before she decided better of it. Elodie watched as she sat her phone on the vanity and disappeared in the racks of clothes, angrily picking out the appropriate outfits.
Elodie tried to help Jimin as best as she could, but the most she was qualified for was adding a light gloss to the boys’ lips.
Lani handed each boy their clothes and dressed them quickly before they were called to the stage for the interview. Everyone filed from the room and made a beeline to be on standby.
“Shoot! I forgot the mics! I’ll be quick!” Elodie shouted, waving down Jimin who gave a thumbs up and hurried off the everyone else.
Elodie made her way through the dressing room until she found the box she was looking for. Lani’s phone was ringing and Elodie glanced at it. “My Baby🥵💋” flashed across the screen.
Without thinking, she answered the phone, “hello?”
“Baby girl, you’ve kept me waiting too long.” A voice rang through.
Elodie’s heart dropped to her stomach, “what?” She breathed out.
“Come over after work tomorrow. Elodie won’t be here, she’s working over time.  We can spend our first Valentine’s Day together.”
That was Jungkook. No doubt about it. Panicked, Elodie tried to disguise her voice as best as possible, “Sorry, Lani is busy. She left her phone.”
“Oh?! Oh, god. I’m sorry.” Jungkook hurried and hung up. Elodie stood still for a few seconds, her head reeling and her heart pounding.
“Elodie? Hey, are you okay?” Jimin ran through the room to Elodie’s side. He glanced at her hand and saw Lani’s phone and the grief and confusion on her face.
Jimin knew that Elodie had probably figured it out, but now was not the time to touch base on it. They had work to do.
Gently prying the phone from her hands and guiding her to the stage, Jimin sent up a silent prayer that she would never know that he knew.
————————————
Elodie’s next three hours flashed by in a mere second. She couldn’t concentrate on the interview and Jimin had to save her a couple of times in her headset to keep her focused. Her mind never wavering from the phone call.
Her eyes never leaving an anxious looking Lani, who kept checking the time on her wrist watch and visibly getting more agitated as the interviews went on.
When they barely managed to finish, Elodie dropped all of her things into Jimin’s arms and took off for the dressing room. Quickly gathering her purse and coat, she made haste to get home. A quick phone call to her boss asking for tomorrow off since she wasn’t “feeling well” and a shabby plan in place, Elodie headed into her apartment.
“Baby, is that you?” Jungkook called from the bedroom.
“Who else would it be?” Elodie snapped back. Ten seconds passed before Jungkook poked his head out from the bedroom doorway, confusion written on his face.
“You okay?”
Elodie couldn’t help but think that his concern was fake, but a part of her still believed that he would never do something as heinous as she thought he was doing even if the evidence so far said so.
“Peachy.” She kicked off her shoes and made a beeline for the bathroom. Running a steaming bath she allowed herself to emerge herself into the water, letting her body relax.
She laid there for several minutes before the sound of the doorbell chiming broke her from her thoughts. Listening she could hear Jungkook talking to someone in a rushed tone. Curious she got out and grabbed a towel, wrapping it tightly around herself and walked into the hallway.
At the front door was Lani, looking at Jungkook like he was something to be eaten. Elodie felt anger surge through her body. Holding her head high, she walked behind Jungkook.
Lani noticed her presence first, her sultry stare turning into shock and then to fear. Jungkook turned around and saw Elodie standing there with a puzzled look on her face. “Jungkook, I’ve been waiting for you forever in the shower.” Elodie said sweetly.
“O-oh? Oh! I’m sorry. The doorbell...” he trailed off unsure of how to reply.
“Lani? Is everything okay? Did I leave something at work?” She feigned ignorance.
“Uh, yeah! Actually. But I was just telling Jungkook that I forgot it with my stuff and just remembered when I got here. I’m so sorry to disturb you guys. I know  you haven’t been home in over two days and probably want some alone time with Kook.” Lani sheepishly said.
Kook.
She called him Kook.
“What was it?” Elodie pressed.
“Hm?” Lani asked.
“What was it that I left at work?”
Lani’s cheeks turned bright red and had the decency to looked ashamed, “a-anyway look I need to go. You guys enjoy each other tonight.” just as quickly as she showed up, she was gone.
Elodie watched Jungkook close the door in silence, marveling at the boldness of her best friend. Showing up here while Elodie was home to try and flirt with her fiancé. Jungkook’s eyes met hers and guilt was laid in them so deep, Elodie felt herself drowning in it.
Without another word, Elodie returned to her bath.
————————————
Elodie didn’t like to lie, she didn’t like to create a fuss. She liked to be straightforward and get problems out of the way. In this situation however, she felt she had no other choice but to lie. She still couldn’t believe the facts that were laid out in front of her, so she devised a plan to make sure once and for all.
She left for “work” at her normal time and headed to the cafe a few shops down from her and Jungkook’s apartment. It gave her the perfect view of the entrance so she could keep watch for Lani.
What she hadn’t anticipated was the long wait time. She entered the cafe at 8:15 AM and it was now nearing 11:54AM. She didn’t know how much longer she could wait it out or if she even had to wait. She was starting to feel ridiculous.
Another twenty minutes of waiting produced something interesting, Jimin had stepped into the cafe. He didn’t spot her at first as he made his way toward the counter, but it was peculiar to Elodie that he was here; this cafe was on the other side of town from his apartment.
Elodie watched him and waited for him to turn around and she waved him down. To say the least, the shock on his face was genuine. Their eyes held each other’s gaze for a solid five seconds before a smile dropped onto his lips and he made his way to Elodie’s table.
“Fancy seeing you here.” Elodie stated, taking a long sip of her boba.
“I was in the neighborhood.” Jimin said cautiously.
Silence hung between them like a thick curtain, both lost in their own thoughts. Jimin broke the silence first. “Listen, Elodie. I have something to confess.”
Her eyes met his and she gave a slight nod to continue. “I’ve been keeping a secret from you. It pains me to say that, please believe me, considering what the secret entails.” He took a long pause to gather his thoughts and Elodie waited for him patiently, still keeping an eye on the front entrance of her apartment building.
“I actually came here today to work up the courage to tell you what I’m about to say. I wasn’t in the neighborhood.” He confessed.
“I figured that much out so far..” Elodie mumbled.
Jimin huffed a sigh and steeled his nerves, “I caught Lani and -“
Before Jimin could finish, Elodie caught the red hair of the current topic heading for the front doors of the apartment building across the street. Her heart hammered in her chest and she felt her stomach recoil. “Sorry, Jimin, I have to go.” she rushed the words from her mouth as she took off out of the cafe.
Jimin watched her run down the sidewalk and disappear into her building. “Oh, for fucks sake.” He whispered and took off after her.
————————————
Elodie wasn’t sure what she was going to walk into. She was hoping Lani just magically had a friend in this same building, on the same floor as her and Jungkook. But as she looked at what floor the elevator had stopped on, she couldn’t convince herself of anything anymore.
Slamming her hand onto the call button, she began to panic. Her breathing became erratic, and her vision slightly blurry. Once the doors opened she stumbled in and hit the button she needed and leaned against the wall trying to catch her breath.
“Elodie!”
Elodie’s head snapped up and saw Jimin rushing towards her. She pressed herself further into the wall as he came crashing into the elevator as the doors were closing.
“Jimin? What the hell?” She felt all the air leave her lungs in shock.
“Elodie, please do not go upstairs. I am begging you.” Jimin gathered her own shaking hands into his, holding tightly and pleading with his eyes.
“No, I have to.” She reasoned.
Jimin shook his head and groaned in frustration, “Elodie we both know what’s waiting up there.”
It was then she realized what Jimin had to confess to her earlier. He knew about Lani and Jungkook. But for how long? How long had he known? Surely just as recent as her, because Jimin would have told her. He’s a good friend.
So was Lani.
Elodie pulled her hands from his and stood up tall, throwing up her guard. “We can discuss how you knew and when you found out later, but right now I need to confirm it with my own two eyes. So if you are here to warn Lani or stop me, then please do not get off this elevator once it stops.”
Jimin’s hands fell to his side and nodded in compliance. He had to make this up to her somehow, and he would start by doing as she said.
The bell dinged signifying they arrived. Elodie gave Jimin an odd look before walking off the elevator. He followed behind her silently and prayed Lani had enough sense to not make this difficult.
————————————
The loud moans and the soft grunting beyond her bedroom door clued Elodie in quickly to her worst nightmare. Lani’s shoes by the front door and their clothes dropped precariously throughout the house just set her sense of dread deeper into her chest. Jimin had decided to stay in the living room at her request, but she wondered if she should have kept him by her side for support.
Her hand lay gently on the door handle, pausing quickly before pushing it down and sliding the door open to a dimly lit room. Her presence wasn’t yet discovered, luckily for her.
Elodie’s heart thrummed inside her ribcage, her stomach dropped and her knees felt weak - her head remained clear. Out of the corner of her eye she caught the jacket she bought for Jungkook laid sloppily on the floor amongst the wrapping paper it was in.
“Ah, Kook! That feels so fucking good!” Lani’s shrill moans brought Elodie’s attention back to them. Before she could even make a coherent thought she spoke,
“Oh yeah, Lani? Does it feel good? Does my fiancé MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD?!” Her hand flew to the wall to slap the light switch, illuminating the room.
Jungkook’s head whipped around so fast Elodie was sure it would snap. Shock and horror reflected on Lani and Jungkook’s faces as they scrambled to move away from each other.
“Babe..” Jungkook choked out, stumbling towards Elodie’s stilled body.
Ignoring Jungkook entirely, she made her way to the bed where Lani sat covered in the sheets. Ripping them off and tossing them to the floor, Elodie pointed her finger to the bedroom door, “Get the fuck out, bitch.”
Lani’s jaw dropped and Elodie screamed, “NOW!” and sent her into motion. She ran from the room and Elodie could hear the surprise from her when she saw Jimin in the living room - she would deal with that later.
“Get some fucking clothes on.” She spat at Jungkook and walked into the living room to see Lani struggling to get dressed. “Don’t even think of trying to leave when you finish.”
Lani slipped her dress on and sat meekly on the couch next to Jimin, both wearing guilty faces. When Jungkook finally emerged from the bedroom, she nodded at the space beside Lani and he sat down quickly.
Elodie just stood in the middle of the living room trying to collect her thoughts. Jungkook started to speak and she snapped, “Shut the fuck up, Jeon Jungkook.” she seethed, “are you three having fun? Huh? Is it fun for you to do shady shit behind my back and think I would never find out? HUH?!”
Three pairs of eyes were on her and she felt like suffocating, “Lani, I never want to see you again.” She continued.
“Jimin, I need to know how long you have known.” She pressed, her eyes boring into his.
“Four months.” He answered honestly. “I wanted to tell you, Elodie, I-“
“Then you should have.” She said bluntly. “And you, of all fucking people, Jungkook.”
He had the decency to look ashamed, and had the smarts to keep his mouth shut. “I want all of you out. Get the hell out of my apartment and the hell out of my life.”
Jimin and Lani didn’t need to be told twice, the two jumped up and ran towards the door, but Jungkook remained seated. “This is my apartment too, Elodie.” He mumbled.
“Fine, then I will leave.” She decided, but Jungkook grabbed her wrist to stop her.
“Can we please talk this out? I’m so sorry, Elodie. Please let me make this up to you. I never wanted to hurt you.”
“When did you stop loving me? Hm? Before or after you started fucking my best friend?” She questioned.
“I still love you, with all of my heart. Baby please understand that.” his desperate pleas had no effect on Elodie, “it’s Valentine’s Day.” He whined.
“Oh! Oh my god you’re right!” Elodie gently smacked her forehead in feign shock, “Happy Valentine’s Day, baby,” Jungkook grinned up at her, “kiss my ass!”
Elodie pulled loose from his grip and strode towards the front door, Jungkook shouting after her. Ignoring him she stepped out into the hall and slammed the door.
Breaking into tears, she leaned against the front door letting them fall down her face. “Elodie?”
Jimin walked slowly towards her, looking defeated, “I know you don’t want to ever see me or Lani again, but I just wanted to let you know we both called the agency and requested transfers. You shouldn’t have to quit your job or move on from the boys, you have done so much for them and they would be more said if you left than us.”
Elodie nodded gently and stood up straight, “Thank you, Jimin. And you are right, I don’t think I can ever be friends with you or Lani again, but I do hope you both find success and happiness.”
Jimin felt his heart clench at her words as they both headed towards the elevator. They rode down in silence and went different directions once outside.
“I’m strong. I can do this.” Elodie whispered to herself. And she was - and she could.

Hi, everyone! Here today with another story for @bnhabookclub's Bingo Event, this time for the prompt "Nose Kisses"! I hope you all enjoy it! :3
Special thanks to @deliathedork for helping me with the concept! You're a doll~
Izuku fidgeted in the bed as he slowly lapsed into consciousness. He smacked his lips, finding them dry and cracked; similarly, the plane of his tongue was an arid desert. Water, he thought dully. Still blinking away the bleariness of sleep, he fumbled with unsteady fingers to pull the comforter from his sweaty body. It seemed that he had fallen asleep without the ceiling fan running, and thus, heat smothered the room.
Izuku yawned as he languidly slipped off the bed like a boneless fish. He wriggled his feet into his slippers and pulled the switch as he passed underneath the overhead fan; what good would retrieving water do if he just got thirsty thirty minutes later?
Izuku shambled into the restroom. Izuku had no care to be blinded, so he utilized his primitive night eyesight to grope around until he located the plastic cup he kept beside the faucet. He flipped the tap and bubbling, and lukewarm water gushed forth. Izuku filled the cup halfway and then downed it in one gulp, then did so twice more. He smacked his lips again, feeling moisture return to the parched skin. He lumbered out of the bathroom to collapse face-first into his bed. Then, his stomach flip-flopped in his belly. He grimaced as a long gurgling rumbled in his tummy.
“Snack…” he muttered aloud. He peered at the All Might alarm clock seated on his bedside table. The bright yellow numbers read 1:47 a.m. He pushed his hand under his shirt to scratch his abdomen, debating whether to sneak downstairs to acquire sustenance or snuggle back under the covers to see if sleep would claim him before he starved.
His yowling stomach decided for him.
The stairs creaked with every hulking step the sleepy Izuku took; they were clearly displeased at their stair-business being interrupted at such ungodly hours of the morning on account of his midnight munchies. The soft moonlight spilled in from the row of glass windows decorating the hallway, casting an ethereal white glow over the floor and furniture. His shadow danced along the polished wood as he shuffled into the kitchen. Izuku rummaged through the various cabinets, picking up a box to blearily inspect the label before deciding against it, before he finally settled on some animal crackers. The bag crinkled as he shoved his hand into the small opening, and he grabbed an entire handful of the sweet cookies before unceremoniously shoving them into his mouth.
“Yum,” he mumbled to himself, cheeks poofed out like a squirrel’s and crumbs raining from his lips. Munching loudly on the dozen cookies crammed into his mouth, he meandered around the common space, leaving a trail of animal cracker specks as he went. He stared out the window, watching the wind toss about the tree branches and bush leaves whose emerald green seemed blue in the gloom. He grabbed a carton of milk out of the fridge and guzzled a good fourth of it straight from the box, then shoved another handful of cookies into his mouth. He gazed at his hazy-eyed reflection in the flat-screen television, regarding his tousled hair and lidded eyes, before turning on his heel to begin shambling to the couch.
He froze on the spot, mouth open to reveal half-eaten animal crackers when he spotted Ochako Uraraka sprawled over the sofa in a position that looked way to uncomfortable for how pleasantly she was snoring.
One of her legs was slung over the back, bent at the knee with her foot hanging down. The other hung off the edge of the couch so that her foot was flat on the floor. One arm was bent over her head like she was cradling it, and somehow the other was stretched out to bridge the gap between the sofa and the coffee table. Her hand clutched a half-eaten milk chocolate bar. Her mouth hung open as she snored contentedly, and drool puddled on the throw pillow as it leaked out of her mouth. Izuku stared at her for a moment. Then, he snickered.
“Cute,” he thought aloud. He walked closer and set the box of animal crackers on the coffee table, pausing to use his pajama shirt sleeves to wipe the white crumbs from his mouth. In her violent tossing and turning, Ochako had flung the blanket from her body. It was now but a useless bundle of cloth at her feet. Izuku gently tugged it from underneath her splayed limbs and draped it over his shoulder, then set to rearranging her into a more comfortable position. He flushed when she abruptly groaned and began to shift, and he froze, still holding her left leg above the couch. She only smacked her lips a few times and adjusted her head, exhaling deeply before falling back into deep, even breaths. Izuku slowly lowered her foot down onto the cushion, then threw the blanket over her body.
“Here ya go, Ochako,” he murmured sweetly as he draped the blanket over her, settling it up to her chin. She had closed her mouth, and a pleasant smile now graced her round face. Izuku leaned over her as he tucked the blanket around her neck to ensure she wouldn’t so easily fling it off again. His face reddened, for he could feel her warm breath ghosting over his face. Just finish this real quick annnnd… He couldn’t finish the thought, because suddenly Ochako’s eyes fluttered open. Before he could move, her face jerked up.
Several comical things could have occurred, like they do in the movies. They could have bonked their foreheads together with a resounding smack! She could have flung him off completely so that he ended up a tangle of limbs crammed between the couch and coffee table. Hell, they could’ve had a full-on accidental kiss worthy of the cheesiest of shoujo mangas.
Instead, here they were, with Izuku’s lips delicately pressed to the tip of Ochako’s nose.
They both froze like deer in headlights. Seconds ticked by as the two of them processed the situation they were currently in. Slowly, realization dawned on them, and identical blushes began to creep up their necks. The flush spread up to the roots of their hairs.
Crimson-faced, they sprang away from each other with shrill screams.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” he sputtered as he scampered several feet away from her, one leg flailed up by his chest, and both his arms crossed in front of his bright red face. “I was… I was just fixing the blanket!” he explained with a frantic gesture at the cloth. Ochako blinked a few times, then glanced down at the fabric now surrounding her.
“O-oh! I see,” she squeaked after several seconds of silence. She shifted under the blanket, drawing it around her. “Th-thank you, Izuku.” The green-haired boy spluttered out something along the lines of “no problem.” He twiddled his fingers by his sides as silence descended between them once more. He cleared his throat and then awkwardly lunged for the box of animal crackers still resting on the coffee table. Ochako raised her eyebrows. “Midnight snack?” she laughed. Izuku flushed pink.
“Y-yeah,” he chuckled bashfully, playing with the curly hairs at the base of his neck. After retrieving a few of the animal-shaped cookies from the box, he held it out to Ochako. “Y-ya want some?” The bubbly brunette nodded and scooched over to the end of the couch to reach out and snag a few. Instead of just shoving them in her mouth to devour like Izuku did, she daintily bit the cookie in half, nibbling at it with her front teeth. She gazed wide-eyed at him when he began to giggle.
“What?”
“Y-you’re just really cute, is all…” he admitted shyly. A rosy hue flowered on her face, and she dropped the cookies in her hands to slap her hands to her cheeks. He squeaked and ducked down to hide behind the recliner, the closest object large enough to hide his small frame. “I-I’m sorry!”
“No! I-I mean, why are you apologizing?” Ochako asked bashfully, winding a swathe of her chestnut hair around her finger. She stared out of the bottom right corners of her eyes as a little smile alighted her features. “I-i mean… I-it’s nice, to be called cute, y’know?” Izuku blinked at her over the top of the large chair. She twiddled her thumbs anxiously as she squirmed. “Y-you know… The nose kiss wasn’t so bad either,” she offered slowly. Izuku’s green eyes blew wide, like two emerald moons floating in white space. Ochako turned bright pink and shoved her face into her hands. “O-oh my! Was that weird? Omigosh, I don’t know what came over me; I’m just super sleepy, hahaaaa!” she blabbed as she attempted to dismiss the strange remark. Slowly, Izuku rose from behind the armchair.
“Well… I could… I could do it again, i-if you like,” he whispered. Though he wanted nothing more than to crouch back down and bury his body underneath the inch of space between the recliner and the floor, he held fast, swallowing as he stared intensely at the shocked girl. Ochako’s lips drew into a thin line as she considered the opportunity.
“Okay,” she squeaked. Like an edgy house cat advancing on a strange new object, Izuku crept around the furniture to gradually approach her. Ochako gulped audibly and compulsively straightened as he stopped in front of her. Izuku flopped backward to sit on the edge of the coffee table. He inhaled sharply through his nose and rubbed his hands together, psyching himself up for the little kiss. Come on, Izuku. Just do it already.
“O-okay. Here it comes!” Izuku huffed, then went bright red, cursing himself for the silly statement. Thankfully, Ochako only rolled her shoulders once before fluttering her eyes and tilting back her head to present her nose to him. Izuku wiggled his fingers relentlessly, not sure what to do with his hands, before deciding to grip the edge of the coffee table as he leaned forward. Quickly, and without any more fanfare, he leaned in to press a light kiss to the top of Ochako’s nose. He jerked back after holding it for a second, his face reminiscent of a tomato’s hue. “Uh… um… How was that?” he asked stupidly.
“It was nice,” she answered honestly, opening her eyes to smile brightly at him. Izuku deflated like a balloon, a relieved sigh escaping from his lungs. Ochako hesitated a second, then quietly asked, “D-do you want one?”
“Oh, absolutely!” He realized that he was far too enthusiastic and turned a lovely shade of maroon. Ochako snickered before plopping her palms against his cheek, squishing the flesh a little. She leaned up to lightly peck his nose with her lips. A tingling feeling bloomed in the area, propagating across his entire nervous system, down to the tips of his fingers and toes. He couldn’t help the giddy, toothy grin that appeared on his face as she retreated. “Wow, that does feel pretty nice.”
“What are you two doing?”
The pair of them screamed and leaped two feet in the air as Mr. Aizawa’s disgruntled growl scared them out of their skins. The teacher slouched in the hallway, shining his phone flashlight on the two students. They both began stuttering nonsense and pointing in various directions, but Aizawa just glared at them, unimpressed. Izuku finally plucked up the box of animal crackers and thrust it at the teacher.
“I-I had the munchies!” he explained lamely. Aizawa’s dark eyebrows narrowed.
“Stop flirting and go to bed!”
“Yes, sir! Right away, sir!” Izuku shrieked and scurried away from the couch. Ochako followed, the blanket flowing like a cap behind her running form. They bolted for the stairs, terrified that Aizawa stamped behind them, and scrambled up to the landing together. “Wait, wait, wait, Ochako!” he cried and grabbed her by the wrist as she made to flee to her room. Grinning mischievously, he yanked her forward to kiss her nose again.
“Izuku Midoriya, so help me, if you do not get in your bed right now, you will be on house arrest for a week!”
“I’m so sorry, Mr. Aizawa!” he yelled and sprang away from Ochako to clamber on all fours up the stairs. He vaguely heard Ochako shout “goodnight, Izuku!” after him, and he fancied her tone to be airily blissful. He dashed into his room and threw the door shut. Exhaling deeply, he melted against the wood, standing there for a few moments to still his pounding heart.
Yet, it didn’t still completely. Every time Izuku thought of Ochako and her gleeful smile, his heart would resume pumping with gusto. He passed his fingers over the tip of his nose, recalling the sensation of Ochako’s plump lips. He still clutched the box of animal crackers in his hands. Smirking, he rolled the bag closed and sealed the container, then tossed it up in the air and caught it by the side.
“Heh. Thank goodness for the midnight munchies.”

Ooo!! Do one where they’re in the outpost and ms. V hurts y/n because she wasn’t following the “rules” and outpost!michael is there to protect her
Wow I took this one a little too far... 1.7k words too far to be exact, sorry anon! (sorry I’ve lost the gif maker’s URL so please let me know if you know whose amazing work this is)
Tumblr media
Showing pain was a sign of weakness to Ms Venable. Weaknesses shown in her domain at Outpost 3 were hers to exploit. To terrorise. To torture.
Silently sucking your teeth as the whip snapped against your spine, your eyes bulged as you tried in vain to appear resilient to her efforts.
“Pathetic,” Ms Venable seethed an inch from your face as Ms Mead cracked the whip again. “You can’t even hide your pain, let alone your guilt.”
“Guilt over what?” You spat, unsuccessfully masking a shivering flinch at the next searing impact, tugging at the manacles suspended from the ceiling.
“Cooperating with the Cooperative,” the redhead hissed, surveying your every response with a pedantic glare. “I saw the way you looked at Langdon this evening, quite the show you put on for us all.”
“What the hell are you talking about, Venable?” You contorted your face in abject confusion, helplessly expressing yourself using flailing hands against your rattling shackles. “I was listening to him explaining our fate, for fuck’s sake.”
“Tell that to your lovesick, puppy dog eyes batting at him the whole time. Anybody would think he was narrating a Hollywood romance, not instructing the Outpost on the survival of mankind as we know it.”
Inexplicably trying to reach out and slap her, your hand waved weakly in your cuffs and earned you a sharp whip. And another. Tears brimmed furiously in your eyes as realisation hit you — she had no tenable excuse for torturing you, it was simply her method of passing the time and whittling down her charges in the Outpost, one by one with no trial necessary.
“Look, Venable, the world is in nuclear winter a few feet above us and your priority is beating the living daylights out of me for looking at an attractive blonde? The first new man any of us have seen since we got sent down this fucking rabbit hole eighteen months ago?”
Venable’s lips parted softly, quirking an eyebrow and leaning in closer to your face, a radiating heat of anger hitting you in the face.
“So you admit it?”
“I’m not admitting shit, Venable, that would imply I’ve done something wrong.”
Hearing a gentle swoosh of the whip behind you as Ms Mead prepared the next hit, Venable raised a halting hand and leaned back on her cane, eyes narrowing as she chased a new avenue of questioning.
“What is it you see in him?”
“I don’t know, he just seems like a nice person. I feel like I know him.”
“So you’re in league with him?” Venable’s bitter tone returned to the surface. “This is quite the development. First Gallant yesterday, now this little cockroach too. Try her again, Ms Mead, let’s see what else comes tumbling out.”
The stout woman drew her hand back to lash the whip again, reaching behind her head before the deafening clacks of expensive heels against the chamber gratings broke the silence.
“I understand torture is the only interrogation method available to those lacking the evidence to support their outrageous claims.“
Langdon.
The familiar honeyed tone laced with spite boomed through the metallic chamber, stopping Ms Mead mid-swing as Venable rolled her eyes. Realising the Cooperative member was walking right in on you, chained to the spot, wearing nothing but unflattering white underwear, you clenched your thighs together in the vain hope your existence wouldn’t be noticed.
Langdon paced agonisingly slowly to Venable’s side, hands clasped studiously behind his back, stopping as his boots bumped her heels.
“What a shame you don’t have the physical strength to extract the information for yourself,” he snarled menacingly. “That is, if there were any information to extract.”
“May I remind you whose Outpost this is, Langdon,” Venable jeered, drawing a clack of her cane to assert her authority. “Just because the Cooperative didn’t delegate you to lead one, that certainly doesn’t authorise you to attempt to usurp mine.”
“Usurping? That’s all you think I’m here to do?” Langdon chuckled under his breath, a devious grin curling his lips. “Perhaps you’d do well to take off those rose-tinted glasses and see what’s going on around you.”
Langdon began circling around you with glacial, contemplative steps. Venable’s brows furrowed with every pace, pursing her lips with every click of his heels.
“As it would appear you’re struggling to understand, I’ll speak your language. With every crack of this whip, you slip further down the greasy ladder that permits you entrance to the Sanctuary.”
Venable huffed in surprise.
“You think this is about salvation?”
“Let’s be honest here, everything you do leads back to saving your own ass,” Langdon barked, his predatory motion coming to a halt in front of you. “So you either leave this poor girl alone or I leave you here to rot, see how long it takes the feral cannibals to tear through your mauve wardrobe.“
“I can’t believe you—“
“Did I not make myself abundantly clear, Ms Venable? Lay another finger on her and I will personally disembowel you myself, leader or no leader.”
Venable swallowed harshly, eyes darting to her feet before heading for the door, a dismissive hand waving Ms Mead obediently back to her quarters.
“You haven’t heard the last of this, Langdon,” Venable called back as she swung the chamber door open. “And neither has she.”
With the click of the door confirming her departure, Langdon snapped his neck to look at you. As his eyes met yours, his gaze bled from cocky authoritarian into terrified concern with a blink. The back of his hand ventured to your cheek, lightly pressing his baby soft skin against yours, his rings cooling the rising heat as you watched his demeanour change instantly.
“Did she hurt you?” He cooed softly, gentle breaths fanning your hair from your face. “Are you okay?”
“Sure, I’m... okay?” You replied tentatively, perplexed by his blatant worry as he ghosted his fingertips over the vicious welts peppering your shoulders and issued a sharp hiss through your teeth. “Nothing a bit of whiskey can’t solve.”
“She won’t get away with this, I promise you,” he muttered, anger boiling under the surface as he surveyed every injury, silently cataloguing the crimes of Venable’s authority blooming red and purple across your skin.
“Langdon, do—do I know you? I feel like I’ve seen you someplace before—“
His face dropped.
“You, you don’t recognise me? I—I thought you realised yesterday when I was talking to everyone, you were staring at me.”
“Yeah, that’s what Venable said,” you sighed, eyes darting to the floor. “I was just trying to figure out who you are, that’s all.”
“Well at least the identity spell worked,” Langdon muttered to himself.
“Hold up, did you just say identity spell?”
“Fuck, I knew this would be harder than it was with Ms Mead,” he wiped his face in his hands in exasperation. “At least with Ms Mead, I just had Kineros reprogram her.”
“What the fuck are you talking about, Langdon?”
“Look, just hang in there and I’ll explain, the plan’s not ready yet.”
“Fucking hilarious, sir,” you snarked, jangling your chains above your head. “What do you mean, what plan? You’re scaring me.”
“Oh no, no, please don’t be scared,” he cooed, leaning in to cradle your face in both hands. “Everything’s going to be okay, I just need more time to sort this place out and we can go home.”
You shook your head frantically, slapping away his hands as he stepped back nervously.
“Home? You better start making sense, Langdon, you’re driving me insane.”
He noticed the fear in your eyes, the way you stared through him, expecting the crack of a whip at any moment. Everything he said, everything he did, drove you further and further into your shell.
“Listen,” Langdon placed demonstrative palms in the space between you. “I’ll sort out the spell, but I need you to promise me you can carry on as if nothing’s changed.”
“What fucking spell? Please—“
You were cut off by his lips crashing into yours, his hands pulling you into him by the waist. Somehow, you melted into him, his soft kiss set off a blinding light in your closed eyes, followed by a searing pain in your head as everything span around you. As his lips left you, your eyes opened to see Langdon in a totally different light.
“Michael?” You whimpered, your eyes bursting out of their sockets as you finally recognised the man before you. He beamed from ear to ear, wrapping his arms around your waist and drawing you in for a tight, protective embrace.
“Baby girl, I’m so sorry,” Michael hummed into the nape of your neck. “This wasn’t how it was supposed to go.”
“Well how about getting me out of these fucking chains?” You shook your arms in demonstration as a pained expression washed over Michael.
“I can’t baby, they could come back in at any minute. Like I said, you need to act as if nothing’s happened. Just keep your head down, don’t mess with Ms Venable’s rules and we’ll own this place by the end of the week.”
“Have you found any of the witches yet?”
“Not yet, I think they’re under identity spells too, that’s why I sent you here. They planted a mole, I had to plant my own. I promise you, my love, everything will come together.”
“Okay, Michael, I trust you.” You smiled warmly back at him, safe in the knowledge Michael knew what he was doing. He kissed you again, a haunting, lingering kiss that spoke all the words he’d wanted to say since he arrived and painstakingly pretended not to know you.
Suddenly, three pairs of heavy footfalls approached the chamber, startling Michael into action.
“That’ll be Venable with her backup. Baby, I have to go now but please, remember what we said. Keep your head down, forget we had this conversation and we’ll be back in the Sanctuary in no time.”
“Then good luck out there, baby. Look after yourself,” you sighed, arms falling against your restraints and accepting your punishment at the hands of Ms Venable was far from over. “I love you so much, Boy Wonder.”
As Michael reluctantly turned for the exit, he sighed.
“I love you, more than you will ever know.”

Loner: let’s see those nips
♥chapter 4♥
masterlist | << previous chapter | next chapter >>
Tumblr media
Sometimes Phoebe Hertz forgot about just how much of an asshole Luke Friedman could be. She forgot about all their arguments, all the harsh words they've thrown at each other, all the tears she's shed because of him. All he had to do was look at her the right way and she was wrapped around his finger. It worked sometimes, but not right now.
"Luke, I'm not gonna suck your dick out of pity." Phoebe stood at the foot of his bed, glaring at the boy in disgust at what he just asked.
She stayed over with him to make sure he was okay, but she quickly regretted it after only a few minutes. Luke had been nonstop whining and complaining, claiming he was in too much pain to do things like reach the remote that was just out of reach. He was also, apparently, in too much pain to jerk himself off.
"Please, babe! It would make me feel so much better," he whined with, giving her puppy-dog eyes.
"Do it your damn self!" She threw her hands up frustration, hoping his parents wouldn't hear her outburst.
"Suck my own dick? I don't think I'm flexible enough t-" he was interrupted by Phoebe throwing a pillow at his face, catching him off guard. "OW!"
She froze, registering his angry and frustrated face, and realized she may have gone a bit too far. It's not like there was much he could do to her with a broken leg, but that still didn't stop the lingering sense of coursing through her body.
"I'm sorry, baby." She slipped a smile onto her face, watching as his anger melted away with her performance. "How about a compromise?" She crawls onto his bed and on his lap, hovering a bit to avoid hurting his leg, and brought him in for a deep kiss.
"Hmmm, well it's no blowjob, but it'll have to do," he says breathlessly once they pull away from each other.
"Shut up, jerk." She playfully hits his shoulder and goes to stand back up but is pulled back into a kiss. "Ugh, Luke, c'mon. We gotta get going," she pulls away from the kiss again only for Luke to grab her face and bring it towards his.
"Please, baby," he whispers as he uses one hand to keep her head in place and the other to unzip his jeans.
"But, baby, I don't wanna mess up my lipstick," she says sweetly, trying to convince him to let her go.
"Come on. It'll make me feel so much better." He held her face with hands, forcing her to look him in the eyes. "Don't you want me to feel better?"
He hadn't changed at all. Six months in rehab hadn't changed a thing. It just forced her to face what she had spent a whole year trying to blind to.
And when she looked into his eyes, it was like she was truly seeing him for the first time. Seeing him for what he really was, not the person he projected for everyone else to see, not the person the drugs and booze made her see. Just Luke Friedman.
"Of course, baby."
Tumblr media
"Hey, Bee, you doin' okay?"
She was not okay, but her friends were worried about her enough as it was, so she wasn't about to tell them that.
She felt sick. Nothing was in her stomach except what Luke made her swallow, and it was just sitting in her stomach like bricks. She wanted nothing more at the moment than to shove her fingers down her throat and force it out of her. It felt like a poison that was slowly eating her alive from inside. But she couldn't tell Anna any of that.
"Yeah, Banana! All good," she cheerily responded, throwing an arm around her friend's shoulders. "And by the way, you look so hot right now. Big fan of this look," she added, gesturing to Anna's "no bra" look in her cropped hoodie.
"Thank you, but don't act like you don't look sexy as hell right now too," Anna gesture's to Phoebe in a tight cropped red turtleneck.
"Awww thanks, Banana." Bee threw both her arms around the girl and drew her in for a hug.
"Don't go stealing my girl now, Delaney" Luke speaks up, making Phoebe suddenly remember his and the other guys' presence.
"It's not like it'd be that hard, Friedman," she jokes, cocking an eyebrow at the boy.
"Yo, guys!"
The group all turn their heads to see Joey approaching them, confidently strutting down the hallway in her "Free The Nipple" shirt. Everyone looked as she passed by, some in admiration, some in disgust, some in lust. For Phoebe, it was definitely admiration (though she would also admit her friend was looking very sexy at the moment).
It amazed Phoebe just how well Joey exuded confidence, constantly giving off good vibes. Bee wanted nothing more than to be like that. She tried her hardest and would like to think she did a pretty good job at it, but it was all an imitation.
"Looking pretty obscene, girl!" Anna called out to Joey, taking her phone out to record the girl.
"Really?" Joey asked nervously, suddenly feeling a bit self-conscious.
"Yeah, isn't that the point?" George asked cluelessly.
"No," everyone said in unison, making him frown in confusion. He'd look like a lost puppy if he wasn't such an asshole.
Joey tossed the guys some t-shirt that also had the words "Free The Nipple" on them. Phoebe laughed when Luke's shirt hit him in the face, causing him to jokingly flip her off.
"Nice! Yo, I can't believe you made these, Jo. Y'all craft as shit."
"Just don't put them on until after." Joey then turns to open her locker and whispers to the girl, "Seriously, do I look like a porn star?"
"Yes, but, like, in a good way?" Bee lets out a cry of pain when Anna hits the girl in the boob. "OW! Jesus, I'm just kidding, don't worry."
"It's mild, Jo. I was just fucking around," Anna assures the girl, ignoring Phoebe still clutching her left tit in pain. "Hey, check me out," Anna says, showing off her chest.
"Wow, ultra-mild," Joey jokes, playing with the girl's boobs. "I'm just fucking with you. You're perfect." She leans her head on Anna's and pulls away to look at Phoebe. "And what about you, girl? C'mon, let's see those nips!"
Bee rolls her eyes but pulls apart her jacket anyway, revealing her chest to the girl.
"God, okay that's hot. You should go braless more often." Phoebe giggles and swats away Joey's hands as she keeps poking her chest.
The girls quit their playing as they hear Luke speaks up and they turn their heads to the boy.
"You're gonna put something over it before the AP bio."
"Why should she?" Tim jumps in to defend Joey.
"We got a quiz," Luke says like it was obvious.
"Bro, part of the point she's trying to make is that her body isn't a distraction."
"I know and I'm obviously down for that, but-"
"And if it does distract you, that's your fucking problem."
"I got 99 problems, but a bitch ain't one," George cuts in, confidently nodding his head.
"No!" the girls look at him in a mix of annoyance and disgust, shaking their heads at what he just said.
"Timmy, you dick. If you think you're schooling me on misogyny, like I don't fucking understand? Yo, please."
Joey squeals and walks over to the guys, wrapping her arms around both Luke and Tim.
"Awww, I love you guys! My woke boys." Phoebe resists the urge to roll her eyes at Joey's words.
She found it extremely ironic how just that morning he was pressuring her to suck his dick, and now he was being called "woke". What a fucking joke.
"Yes, I'm gonna cover up until after the quiz. I'm not giving that bitch the satisfaction of failing me."
Joey turned back to the girls and linked her arm with Phoebe, who linked her other arm with Anna on her right. The group confidently strutted down the halls, once again turning heads as usual. If she were just by herself, she would absolutely hate all the eyes on her. But now, with her crew, all the attention felt almost euphoric, completely erasing how awful she felt just a few minutes ago.
"Sluts!" some guy calls out to the girls as they walk by, causing Anna to turn on him and threaten him. Phoebe laughed as the guy backed down and Anna returned to her side with a giddy expression, relinking their arms.
Turning to Joey, Phoebe's eyes move past her friend and she makes eye contact with the Freshman girl from the party, who she learned was named Leila. The younger girl watched the group with a mixture of admiration and envy, which was what they usually got. She sent the girl a friendly smile, watching as she sent a hesitant one back before looking away.
She didn't see any reason to be mean to Leila. It's not like it was her fault Luke broke his leg. Plus, she kinda pitied the girl for being George's latest fling. No girl should have to go through that.
Speaking of the devil, George looped his arm around her waist, pulling her away from the other girls and Tim as he and Luke dragged her over to the two Freshmen.
"Hey, how's your leg?" Leila's friend asks looking down at Luke's cast.
"Oh my God, yeah. Um...I'm so sorry about Friday night. Are you okay? I heard you're gonna have to sit out a few of your swim team matches-"
"Yeah, it's your fault," George rudely interrupts the clearly sorry girl. "Look, uh, Luke's parents need your parents' contact info."
Bee internally groans, catching onto what game the boys are playing. As if the poor girl hasn't been through enough.
"For what?"
"The lawsuit. I'm suing you," Luke responds with a straight face, shocking both younger girls into silence. Once they see a smile spread across his face and the boys start laughing, they let out breaths of relief.
"You guys are actual dicks." Leila's friend speaks up after their laughter has died down, clearly not amused with the joke the boys pulled on them.
"Yo, Leila, it's all good, homie. Alright? It's my fault. I was smacked off my ass, okay?"
Luke nudged Phoebe with one of his crutches as he started walking away. Motioning for her to come with him.
"Um...actually I wanna stick around if that's okay?" Bee asked, looking back at the two Freshman girls who'd be stuck with George if she didn't stick around. Luke nodded and gave her a kiss in response, though it was a bit hard with the crutches.
"No problem. Later, babe. Yo, later, G." He turns to the other now, saying goodbye. Later, Leila. Later, uh...Leila's friend. What's your name?"
"Rachel."
"Yeah."
With his friend gone, George finally puts all his attention on Leila. Bee stood by Rachel's side waiting impatiently for the boy to leave her alone and go away.
"Oh, you're, like, burning your bra today too, right? 'Cause you got to."
Phoebe glared at the back of his head, rolling her eyes at his comment. What right does he have in telling a girl what to do or not do with her body? That was the whole fucking point of what Joey was trying to do, but clearly he didn't get that.
Phoebe dropped her scowl and gave him a smile and wave as he walked away from the girls.
"So you're all anti "free the nipple", then he mansplains it to you and you're all into it?"
"Exactly! Thank you, Rachel. Like, how fucking weird was it that he was acting like he knew more about a feminist movement than an actual woman?" Phoebe scoffs in disbelief, Rachel nodded along with her, though secretly confused why the girl stuck around.
"Oh, hi, I'm Phoebe, by the way. I just wanted to apologize for my friends. They can be real assholes sometimes......okay most of the time." She returned the smile the girls gave to her, not feeling as awkward now that she introduced herself.
"Hey, you and George are close, right?" Leila pipes up.
"Well, I wouldn't say we're clo-"
"Do you think he's gonna wanna, like, do stuff later?" Phoebe frowns at the girl's question, not understanding her infatuation with the jerk.
"Yeah, he wants to hook up," her friend answers.
"Okay, but, like, what does that mean?"
"Honestly? He's gonna want you to give him a blow job or something, but that's about it. George is about the least romantic guy I know." Bee tells her bluntly, making Leila's smile drop a bit. The older girl feels a little bad so she sighs and plasters on a smile before continuing. "But, hey, that was all in the past. Maybe this is a new and improved George. He's been much nicer lately. I'm sure he'll be real sweet with you," she lies.
"Really? Okay, well, thanks."
"No problem, any time. And, hey, can I see your phone?" She holds her hand out to Leila who gives the older girl her phone in confusion. "If you guys ever wanna hang out or talk, just give me a call, okay? You guys seem super cool." She gives the phone back with a smile, watching in amusement as the girls let their mouths hang open a bit.
"Wait, you...you wanna hang out with us?"
"Uh...yeah? Did I not make that clear?"
The bell rings, cutting off their conversation much to their disappointment.
"Alright, well, I should get to class, but I'll see y'all around. Oh, by the way, cute dress, Leila," she compliments the girl, before waving at the two and walking down away, leaving the two girls to watch in awe.
Leila turns to Rachel with wide eyes and a big smile on her face, seeing a similar expression on her friend's face.
"Wait, oh my God. Does this mean we're, like, popular now?"

When Life is a Song
Genis narrowed his eyes, looking up at Lloyd and Colette both. “You two… What kind of dancing was that?” He frowned, standing on his tip toes, trying his best to be tall, though in comparison to his already tall friends, this only slightly worked. “How about we leave some room for Martel, huh?"
In which there is awkward dancing, awkward confessions, and awkward musings about a sleeping Goddess.
Fandom: Tales of Symphonia Characters/Pairing: Lloyd Irving/Colette Brunel, Genis Sage, Raine Sage Rating: G Mirror Link: AO3 Notes: This was a secret santa gift made for @poesby for the Colloyd discord server! Thanks so much for being a part of it! I had so much fun with this prompt.
-
It was at a school dance that Lloyd first realized he was in love with Colette.
That dance happened just a year before Colette would be off on her journey to regenerate the world, Lloyd remembered. No oracles had come down to Sylvarant, and no Desians had gone to attack the Martel Temple where she would train and take her lessons on the scriptures of the Angels. It was still just in the tail-end of spring, before the air would grow more humid with the coming of summer. The farmer’s crops had yielded their share, and the treaty still kept them safe, as far as everyone was concerned.
It was the Professor that had arranged the school dance to begin with, which had always confused Lloyd back then, even though she claimed that it was to celebrate a successful school year. Only years later, after the journey, would he realize that perhaps this had been his teacher’s way of giving Colette what had been denied her for so long. Never allowed outside of the village, with sometimes her entire days being holed up in that temple, Colette barely got to just relax and enjoy the normalcy that everyone else had.
But of course, Raine had to make that be a part of school somehow.
“Lloyd! Why are you so late?!” Genis was standing at the wooden door to the Iselian schoolhouse, hands on his hips, and looking very displeased. The air around them was warm, even in the early evening, carrying the scent of the oak trees that surrounded the village. “The party started a half hour ago!”
“Gah, sorry!” Lloyd said, rushing up to the entrance as if he had just run all the way from his house. Which, well, he did! Once he realized he was late… “Noishe doesn’t like to walk around the forest at night, and it’s really dark! Monsters are also kind of a pain…”
Genis wasn’t convinced. He eyed Lloyd’s outfit. “And you just wore the same thing you wear every day to a party ever since you were 13?”
“It’s not the same thing!” Lloyd proudly pointed at his familiar red jacket, but specifically at the buttons that lined up his torso and sleeves. “See? These are golden buttons! This is my fancy jacket!”
“…That’s stupid. You can barely even tell they’re different in the light!”
“At least I’m not wearing a lame bowtie,” Lloyd argued back. Bright red and decorating Genis’ little suit like he was a doll, Lloyd would have teased more had he not felt Raine’s sudden smack across the back of his head, his only warning being the slow smile on Genis’ face just a half-second before.
“Don’t be rude, Lloyd. And you are very late. This is going to affect your grade, you know.”
“What?! I’m being graded for a school party?!” But he barely got to argue, already being pushed along into the schoolhouse by Genis. To think that he’d have to go to school still on a weekend…
He hadn’t realized how that night would be so important to him then.
The schoolhouse wasn’t big, containing only one room for the entire class. But with the desks put away, replaced with tables of home-cooked food from local chefs in the village, and fun party decorations that lined the walls, it looked so entirely different. Streamers that were a multitude of colors flowed down from the ceiling, and even some balloons were tied around the place, some having cut loose and now floating way up high to the wooden beams overhead.
And honestly, to Lloyd, it still felt a bit like another school day with the other students here too. The girls who always gossiped in the corner were chatting away in the very same place, but wearing different dresses that looked like the colors of the grass outside. And the boys that he remembered being part of Professor Sage’s fan club were milled about in a small group, sneaking occasional glances towards the door where Lloyd and Genis came through, groaning when seeing their teacher wasn’t with them. They always had more and more members than he thought…
But the ages of everyone also ranged all over the place, from those being as old as him, to others as young as seven. He could already see a group of the youngest students trying to play tag with each other while flitting about the tables, treating the party as if it was just another recess period. That was what happened when everyone in the village had their classes at one place and with just one room.
But through all that, through all the people he recognized and the color that brightened the walls, he searched for her, barely finding a trace.
“Where’s Colette?” he finally asked Genis.
The boy pointed to the back of the classroom-turned party hall. “Over there when I last saw her. She tripped, and well…”
Lloyd winced, knowing exactly what that meant. “Ah man, again?” Hopefully she was okay, but then again this was the usual for her.
“She didn’t mess with my decorations at least, but I made sure Raine healed her of any injuries.” Genis nodded, looking proud of himself for that decision. “Anyway, I don’t think she’s moved from their since.”
“Why aren’t you hanging out her? She’s probably been really bored of this party!” Now Lloyd was starting to feel bad about being late if Colette had been by herself this whole time.
“Hey! It’s not boring!” Genis argued. “Besides, I can’t hang out as I’m in charge of chaperoning. Well, sis is, but I’m helping out!”
Lloyd tilted his head. “Chapa what?”
Genis frowned. “...Just go to her.”
Honestly, Lloyd didn’t need to be told twice, already heading off while Genis was still talking. “Whatever you say!!” Saying the last bit in a shout was not exactly the smartest move, the sound traveling easily in the room and making heads turn; from the kids playing tag, to the boys still gossiping, openly wondering why Raine wasn’t here yet…
It made her head turn too, just in time.
Underneath the dim lights of the set table lamps and the stars outside, he saw Colette, still brushing away the wood chips from her dress. A familiar-shaped hole was just behind her, which was about her very height and width. Maybe something that Lloyd could help fix up later…
But it was at his sudden shout, bouncing across the room that took her attention, made her turn to see him coming over. “Lloyd! You finally made it!”
And for one moment, Lloyd slowed his steps.
Back then, maybe Lloyd hadn’t understood what he felt just yet. Colette’s dress was different from her usual one, still covering her from head to toe. But it was more flowy than her usual, the edges trimmed with lace, her hem printed with star-shaped patterns. It was a summer dress perfect for the warm air outside, the kind that would let her feel the summer breeze. Her hair was also tied up in a bun, showing off more of her face, such as the red on her cheeks, and the dimples that formed whenever she smiled.
Lloyd hadn’t understood why his heart had beat so strangely back then, why he took a moment to speak… and why he suddenly felt a little ashamed at how he dressed, wishing he had gotten something cooler, like a cape, or maybe even a party mask… “Uh, hey Colette! Why are still over here?”
Colette laughed, though she looked nervous as she did so, still brushing away more invisible dust from her dress. “Ah, well, I messed up…”
She gestured to that hole, scratching her cheek in embarrassment. “I’m not even sure how I did it this time!”
“Oh right… It must be all these balloons here,” Lloyd offered as an explanation. “They’re in the way of the floor a lot!”
“Aw, but they’re really cute. I was afraid I’d pop them if I get too close.”
Lloyd reached out to one balloon floating nearby, its pink color so bright and pastel-shaded that it drew the eye a bit. “Nah, there’s no way these can just pop that easily!” He took its string, pulling it to him quickly. “You just gotta-” Pop!
The sound made both Lloyd and Colette flinch, along with a few other people who stood nearby. From the front of the room, he heard Genis yell out to him. “Lloyd! Careful with those!”
“Er, sorry about that!” Now Lloyd held a completely deflated balloon by its string, smiling at Colette shamefacedly. “Guess we both should be careful…”
Colette giggled. “It’s okay, I’m just happy you’re here. I thought that maybe you wouldn’t come.”
“No way! I uh, did kinda forget for a little bit, but then I remembered!”
Her smile was gentle in that dim light, and it was different than what Lloyd was used to, even though he was always seeing Colette’s smiles each day. How come…? She spoke again, breaking the brief little spell he was under. “And you have new clothes too! I really like those golden buttons.”
Lloyd stood there in shock. She noticed! “Y-yeah! It’s my fancy set! See, look, look!” He turned around, showing off the white ribbon strips that streamed from his collar, looking the usual to the untrained eye until…
“Oh! There’s patterns on it!” Colette said, reaching out to hold one of the ribbons, so softly in her hands. “They look like little dogs!”
“Hehe. I was using Noishe as a subject to make these! I still gotta get better at sewing though…” He turned back around, while Colette still held onto that ribbon, tracing the shape along the surface. He stared at what she wore as well, so used to her thick overcoat and not the dress that fluttered about her legs freely. “And, uh, you look pretty great too!”
“Hehe, thanks. Usually the Church doesn’t want me to but… they said it was okay for tonight.” Her voice lowered a fraction, her fingers still twiddling with the ribbons until the note of a flute floated in the air. She dropped it in surprise, raising her head. “Oh!”
Lloyd turned around, seeing some of the other students gathered near the very front of the classroom (party room?); one girl was holding up the flute that played softly, while a spectacled boy was by her side, strumming a guitar, and another was holding up a triangle, waiting for the perfect moment to strike it… “Isn’t that the music club?” he asked aloud.
“Oh, they’re playing for the party! That’s so nice.” Colette clasped her hands to her chest as some of the other students moved from their groups to go out into the middle of the room. The music was still in its beginning phases, but the tune was finding its place, delivering a rhythm that even the youngest student could jump around to. The song was simple, the beat easy to nod heads to.
“Wow…” Lloyd hadn’t expected this party to be much of anything, but the music stirred something in his chest. Did Iselia do stuff like this often? Was this what he was missing living so far off in the forests with his dad? He looked at Colette, finding her suddenly very quiet, eyes rapt to the front of the room.
“Colette, what’s up?” he asked.
“Hm? Ah nothing! Well maybe just, um, Lloyd…” Her voice held something soft that he didn’t understand, not just yet still, but it made him give her his full attention either way. The candlelight within the lamps shone off her tied-up hair, illuminated the stars on her dress, all as the music stirred louder around them. “Do you think… you want to try dancing?”
Lloyd only felt a twinge of nervousness – just a bit. But not enough to make him hesitate or refuse. With a grin, he held out his hand for Colette to take. “Yeah! Just uh, I haven’t ever danced before.”
“Hehe, that’s okay! I haven’t done anything like this before either, I think.”
“So that sounds like a pretty good excuse to try it then,” he teased, feeling her hand go in his. It always felt so natural to hold her hand like this, like it was just the right size when her palm pressed against his. His heart went ba-dump! all the sudden, but he only focused on Colette, walking with her to the floor, hearing that same flute play with more energy, the student musicians giving it all they had.
On the way, Colette caught the edge of her shoe against a small pile of confetti on the ground. Lloyd reached out with both arms to catch her, pulling her up. “Oh, uh, watch out for those!” It was literally just paper Colette had tripped on but somehow that was enough…
“Ah, I’m sorry… I’m just too clumsy.” She bit her lip. “Maybe this is silly…”
“Didn’t you just say you wanted to try?” Lloyd asked, genuinely wondering. And they were already here, weren’t they? A brief glance to their surroundings showed him how everyone else danced too; many of them just excitedly moving around each other in erratic patterns, while others interlocked their arms together, skipping across the floor. Genis was to the side, arms crossed, looking out over the place with a certain pride, with Raine finally not far behind. She was taking a red pen to a piece of paper she held in her hand… She really was grading people right now!
He had a few ideas on how he couldn’t fail on this.
Lloyd quickly looped his right arm into Colette’s left, keeping her close. He heard her lightly gasp, but she didn’t move away, her cheek brushing against his shoulder as she turned to him. “How about this? You definitely can’t fall if we dance this way!”
Colette looked radiant before nodding in approval. The warm light over her hair made it glow, and she gripped Lloyd’s arm back just as tightly. “Okay!”
Lloyd had no idea what song was playing, or if it was a mish-mash of many at once. (The students were still learning, after all). But as he took Colette out to the floor, he made sure to keep her standing upright. The most he knew about dancing was a few dwarven jigs, and Lloyd quickly kicked out his legs to imitate such a thing, moving to the beat of the song(s). “Dad taught me this!”
“Oh, I wanna try!” Colette saw and then attempted to follow through. The hem of her dress flew along with her, and already Lloyd could see her tilt a bit backwards at the motion. But he kept hold of her fast, and even when she lost her balance, soon she was falling back against his arm safely. “Ah! I almost fell again…”
“But you didn’t! See? I won’t drop you, promise.”
Colette’s face was nearby, a few stray blonde strands already slipping from her bun. “Okay, I trust you!”
Even as they tried out their dwarven steps that a few people raised an eyebrow at, Lloyd felt the night rush around him. They were clumsy on their feet, and they bumped into other pairs that were also out on the floor. But even through all the stumbles, Lloyd felt his cheeks ache with a constant smile.
Even for a party that he was being graded on, this wasn’t so bad at all.
Still, there were a few hiccups along their dancing journey. Colette would somehow, through by her own little miracles, accidently step on someone else’s toes, earning a complaint from the victim. “Sorry!” she’d say, and then trip over another person, and then sometimes, even accidentally planting her heel against the tip of Lloyd’s boots.
“Ah! Oh no…”
“Hey, that’s nothing!” Lloyd reassured, the pain simply brief and then forgotten. But he’d have to carry her closer, or hold her nearer to avoid everyone else. “Just follow my lead!”
“I thought I was…”
“Oh, watch out for that other balloon!” he warned before neatly whisking Colette off her feet, saving her from accidentally popping the party decoration. “Phew. Just in time.”
“S-Sorry about that!” Colette giggled, hands placed on his shoulders as he held her up by the waist. Her cheeks were red from their dancing, and she was catching her breath, all while she grinned so wide.
Lloyd didn’t move for a few moments, staring at her before finally getting the idea to set her down. “No more apologizing, remember?” he teased, one hand slipping from her side while the other lingered. Because they were going to keep dancing! Unless she was tired? “Did you wanna keep going?”
Colette nodded, and the relief in Lloyd was so palpable, he wondered then just what he would have felt if she had said no. The music still went in their same beat, bringing everyone else on the floor into more energetic movement. A pair of young children swerved around them both, one of them bumping against Colette’s leg and offsetting the precarious balance she always had.
With hardly any sound, she fell forward. Lloyd caught her deftly by the waist once more, because it was natural to do so. She was always so light between his fingers.
“Still not letting you fall,” he said to her with a smile, helping her stand up just a bit. “No matter how many little kids run into you!” In this room right now, that was a very high probability.
“Hehe…I’ll do the same for you!” Colette said, straightening, but only a bit. She was leaning against his chest, head tilted downward. He still held her, and she felt perfect against his palms. “Wow, those buttons are really shiny…”
“Told ya they were!” Lloyd said with pride, having made sure to extra polish them before coming over. But even with that, and the frenzy of the students around them who still danced to the music, he felt a little calmer then usual. Colette hadn’t moved away and he didn’t want to question why.
“Sorry,” she whispered again, hands reaching up to clasp before her chest. But her knuckles just brushed against the front of his jacket. Her fingers loosened their hold on each other. “Just trying not to trip…”
She was shuffling her feet across the floor. Lloyd found that he did the same, keeping the slow, slow pace with her.
Were they still dancing? It didn’t match the music, or everyone else around them…but he liked it.
“Dork, don’t apologize,” he chided once again, but softer. Would she be able to hear him through the noise? But she was so near, she must have. Her hands finally let go of each other to press against his jacket lightly. “But, this works out, doesn’t it?”
“Hm?” Colette, eyes half-lidded, raised them to meet Lloyd’s own.
“If you’re tired but don’t wanna stop dancing, we can just do this.” This seemed like the perfect solution, that and holding Colette this way made him feel so warm. “Right?”
“Yeah, hehe.” She nodded, her cheeks still a bit red, her hair still reflecting the dim light of the room. “Just tired… And, you don’t mind?”
He had more to say, but the way she looked up at him made his words catch in his throat for a short moment. How to say that he really, honestly, liked this so much? “I don’t mind…” he told her, and as she lingered in his hold, he wanted to say something more. “Hey, um…”
Colette gave him all her attention, a hand now over one of those bright buttons of his. “Yes, Lloyd?”
Something that his voice was doing, his own brain barely able to catch up. But with Colette, it felt natural still. Along with…
“Do you think…that maybe you and I could-”
“Noooope!”
And then he felt a sudden force between them, with Colette somehow further away from him? But she looked just as confused in the position, her hands held up in the air with surprise. Huh? What is-?
It was only the tell-tale peek of silver hair that brought Lloyd’s eyes down to see Genis was right in-between them, hands pressed against their stomachs as he pushed. “Red flag, you two!”
Both Lloyd and Colette blinked, looking down at their tiny friend, who was doing all he can to stretch out his arms. “Oh, Genis!” said Colette, smiling down at him, even though she was still very confused. “Um, is something wrong?”
Lloyd was less nice about it. “Yeah, what gives? Ow!” Also, Genis was pushing on his stomach way too hard!
Genis narrowed his eyes, looking up at Lloyd and Colette both. “You two… What kind of dancing was that?” He frowned, standing on his tip toes, trying his best to be tall, though in comparison to his already tall friends, this only slightly worked. “How about we leave some room for Martel, huh?”
That… made no sense to Lloyd at all. “What are you talking about?”
“But… Martel isn’t here though.” Colette argued, though she sounded just as confused. “I mean, I guess she is everywhere technically… Oh, Genis! Can you talk to Martel? Is she dancing with us?” Then a softer question, her concern so apparent. “Are we squeezing her too tight?
“N-No! It’s an expression!” Genis sighed, putting down his arms but still standing in-between them. “You’re getting way too lovey-dovey in here. You’re just lucky my sis isn’t watching right now.”
And that was it, the moment Lloyd completely understood what he had been feeling all evening just then. He could only hope the light was dim enough to not show off his blush, and that the crack in his voice was unnoticeable. “K-Knock it off!” Had that been it all along?
Colette also looked a little shocked…. Though maybe for different reasons. “I didn’t know Martel would be so angry…” She bowed her head to Genis. “I’ll tell her I’m sorry.”
“Colette, I just said it was an expression! Agh, forget it.” Genis still hadn’t gotten out of their way, which probably made Lloyd more annoyed at his friend then he had ever been. “I have to watch out for you guys all the time.”
“No you don’t!” Lloyd argued. “We’re older than you!”
“Sometimes I honestly wonder about that.”
Colette was more patient than Lloyd, but her hands still hovered over her chest, fiddling with her fingers as she could only just stand and wait. “Um, does this mean we’re not allowed to dance anymore?”
Genis sighed and waved away the question, already stepping away. “Go ahead, but again: No lovey dovey stuff. It’s weird!”
Lloyd was about to protest that it wasn’t that lovey! Even if the memory of holding Colette close got his heart racing just a little bit… But Colette stepped forward, taking Lloyd’s right hand in her left, while placing her other hand on his shoulder. The way she took over made him lose his very track of thought.
“Is something like this okay? Oh, maybe you can dance with us too, Genis!”
Genis flushed then. “No way! I’m still chaperoning! So you two better keep those hands where I can see them!” Pointing at his two friends, Genis walked off, maneuvering easily between other dancing pairs across the floor.
Lloyd stood there now, gripping her hand tightly in his, unused to this somewhat fancy dancing position she had gotten them into. “Is he still watching us?” Lloyd asked Colette, who still faced the direction Genis had gone off to.
Colette leaned past his shoulder slightly, the loose collar of her dress falling gently across her neck. The sight made him consider a few new feelings in him. “A little bit… But he keeps looking at the musicians a lot!”
“Genis always wanted to play that flute,” Lloyd said, letting his other hand fall to her waist again. Again, fitting so perfectly against his palm. “Um, did you still wanna dance?”
She smiled up at him, and even though she wasn’t as near, the sight of it got him feeling warm. “Only if you want to.”
So Lloyd took her hand and they tried again to dance across the floor with the others, not as slow as before, but careful to not trip Colette’s feet. Still, he had to swerve her out of the way of an excited third-grader, or another couple that kept stepping too near their pace. It was only a matter of time before Colette tripped again!
“If we danced outside it’d probably easier…” he whined aloud, needing to make another quick swerve to the left to keep Colette from running into a table. “More room to move around, also way less stuffy than in here!” That was also one other issue; having so many people packed into one large room made him yearn for fresh air.
“Hehe, and the moon outside looks really pretty too.” Colette turned her head to the windows, where the torches that served as Iselia’s light helped illuminate the dirt roads outside.
“You think so? I guess it kinda does.” Lloyd looked too, then back to Colette. She blinked up at him as he shifted his hands to hold both of her own. “Is Genis still watching?”
A soft pause, but she looked again past him. Her loose hair tumbled just past the shell of her ear. She then giggled. “He’s now trying to play the flute too!”
Perfect. He shared with her a grin, all while still holding her hands, that he had shared with her so much over the years, the kind that he knew Colette would recognize what it meant.
“So,” he started to ask, tilting his head towards the door. He had again seen the night sky outside, how inviting it looked, with the stars so intensely bright, with even the upright torches so warm. “Wanna sneak out?”
The party was festive, with music that was now accompanied by a few off-beat tunes from a certain flute. But it was always nicer when it was just the two of them anyway.
“Oh…” Colette breathed, and then he saw the hint of a smile at the corner of her lips. “You think we could?”
“Genis is distracted.” Another piercing flute note that made Lloyd wince slightly. Yeah, he was definitely distracted. “It’s now or never!”
He barely had to wait for Colette to decide – who already locked his arm in hers, head just slightly touching his shoulder.
“Just so I don’t trip,” she said, winking at him.
Lloyd knew exactly what he was feeling then, and it only made him smile. “Yeah!”
With the two of them together, they had all the awkward grace of a stumbling newborn deer, but it hadn’t mattered much. They had rushed out from the schoolhouse, once again underneath the soothing dark sky. Lloyd quickly ushered Colette, their boots stepping hard on the wooden doorsteps. “Come on, come on!”
“I am!” Colette agreed, but her eyes had caught something else, just behind them as they finally got out into the open world before them. “Oh, is that the Professor…?”
Lloyd swore he felt his blood leave his face at the mention of it. He dared to turn, saw that familiar frown framed by silver hair as their teacher stomped after them. “Uhhh let’s go right now! Hurry!”
“Waa! O-Okay!” And somehow, in their mad dash away from the schoolhouse, Colette didn’t trip or slow down. She held fast to Lloyd’s arm, and rushed alongside him down the Iselian roads. Dirt kicked up at their travel, but neither really cared at all.
-
“Okay…I think we lost her,” Lloyd said as stopped at a nearby hill to catch his breath. It was a place that overlooked Iselia, but still stayed clear of the forests where monsters roamed. He winced then, remembering. “Man…I probably got detention for a week now.”
Colette was also panting a bit, but each breath she let out was like an airy giggle, making her shoulders shake. “We ran so fast! I think I tore my dress a little too!”
“Huh!?” Lloyd snapped his head up towards her, and then immediately saw that tear on the hem of her outfit. “Dammit, it must have been when we ran past that tree and a branch got you… Argh, I’m sorry.”
“Why are you apologizing?” Colette asked, sticking out her tongue at him. “But if you really wanted, maybe you can fix it for me later.”
“Oh, yeah! I can do that!” Lloyd figured he could use the practice at sewing. If he could stitch up the face of a dog into his ribbons, he could fix up a dress!
“And besides, we can dance out here.” Colette reached forward to grasp his hands. “Like you said?”
“Heh, already? There’s no music this time, but we don’t need it!” And he went to grasp her hand in his, the other settling on her waist. “And no people to trip you.”
“Yeah! Unless you do.” Another tease, prompting out a ‘Hey!’ from Lloyd but she only laughed, and so did he. The night air was comfortable, and the flowers that were near surrounded them with the scent of pollen, mixed in with the pine from the forest.
And then – another trip.
Colette this time got her boot caught up in a tangled nest of grass stalks and weeds. She fell back, pulling Lloyd down with her until they were both sitting on the grass, legs askew.
“You let me fall!” she told him with a grin.
“I didn’t think you could even fall now!” Lloyd protested. He sat up straighter in the grass, hands still on Colette as he helped her do the same. “I want a do-over.”
It must have been something from before that made him still keep his hand in hers, that made his thumb brush against her dress, now not only torn, but stained from the grass. He hoped she wouldn’t be in trouble, not with her grandmother, or the Church, or with Professor Sage who had just saw them sneak out…
“Lloyd…” Colette asked, and her voice was now more serious than before. It made him pause, wondering. Maybe he was being too weird with her now, and she didn’t like it and- “Didn’t you want to ask me something before?”
Oh. He hadn’t expected that. There was no warm candlelight to color her hair, but the moon made it shine even more, highlighted the many ruffles and folds of her dress.
“Haha, um…” He did know. He knew exactly what he wanted to ask, even before he understood the significance. “It’s too lame though.”
“I won’t think so,” Colette reassured him.
“Why do you say that?” he asked, curious.
“Because it’s you, Lloyd. I know I’ll be okay with what you want to say.”
She was okay with being with him too, away from the party, their hands still clasped.
“Ah well…” he hedged, feeling suddenly so childish in all the wrong ways. “Maybe it’s a weird thing to ask.”
At that, Colette only looked even more curious, looking up at him. No crowd to continually make her trip, or the well-meaning friend of theirs to keep them from getting too close, or the teacher who probably already had their grades set.
It was just Colette, and no one else.
“Do you think, um…” Lloyd started, worried for an interruption; from the sky, from the forest nearby, or from Colette. But she waited for him to move on, to be brave enough in what to say. “Do you think you and I could be…I dunno, uh… more than…” It was sounding worse by the minute, even as he couldn’t stop holding her. “More than friends?”
It was the best he could say, and he only hoped that the silence that followed would be merciful enough. Maybe Colette would only make fun of him a little bit.
“Lloyd, is this your way of asking to kiss me?”
Huh?! Wait, is it?! He blinked, staring at Colette, who seemed to have also made her own little gamble on what should happen next. Her cheeks were still flushed, even long after they had stopped dancing and running, and laughing…
Maybe it was dumb, to take her bet just then. But he leaned down to kiss her, just like he wanted to at the dance so suddenly before being pushed away. It was quick and tinged with a bit of panic, but he felt Colette press against him, not turning away.
He was already laughing in mid-kiss, pulling away only to cup her face in his hands. “You’re really a dork.”
“So are you,” she told him, matching his smile. But then there was something so sad in her eyes then, that it made Lloyd pause.
“Oh…was it that bad?” he asked. It had been his first kiss! Not exactly something one could practice…
“No, not that! It was… really nice.” Colette reached up to brush her fingers against his hands, happy to keep him near. “I’m just thinking about what Genis said.”
Lloyd’s mind stilled. “You were thinking of Genis when you kissed me?”
“Not like that!” she argued with a pout. “It’s just, what he said, I can’t stop thinking about it.”
Lloyd let his hands fall from her cheeks to rest on her shoulders. “You’re gonna have to remind me what he said because I completely forgot.” Really, Genis was the last thing on his mind right now!
Colette wavered, hands now brushing from his wrists down to his arms, always continually touching him. He hoped she would keep doing that. “Lloyd, do you think…Martel would be okay with this?”
That had been unexpected, a weird splash of cold water that just got dumped on his head. “Um, why are we talking about Church things right now?” As if talking about Genis after their kiss wasn’t weird enough!
“Maybe she wouldn’t… Because I’m supposed to…” Then she trailed off, stopped.
Lloyd saw the defeat her eyes, a pain in them that he hadn’t understood back then. There had been so much he didn’t truly get until it was too late.
Maybe what he said next was careless, but the feeling gripped his ribs, wanting to be known. “It doesn’t matter what Martel thinks,” he said, and saw Colette’s eyes widen. “I mean! Well…this doesn’t have anything to do with her, does it?”
Colette blinked, her hands gripping his tight. “It doesn’t?” she repeated, thinking it over.
“I mean, not that she’s not important!” All he ever heard about Martel was how important she was, especially to Colette, a Chosen! He didn’t want to make her feel bad, but how best could he explain? “It’s just, well, this isn’t part of being a Chosen. So… it doesn’t have anything to do with her, right? Just us.” He paused, thinking it over again, liking that so much suddenly. “It’s just us right now.”
Colette still hesitated, and suddenly he was understanding that whatever she struggled with now, she had struggled with for years and years. All of it unraveling right before him, in his very hold.
“But anything I do… has to do with Martel.” She looked down, right at those golden buttons of his. “So, shouldn’t I…”
Lloyd tried one last thing, a thrown-out fact in class that he had somehow been able to retain. “But Martel is asleep. Would she even know what you’re doing?”
Colette didn’t say anything, silent, considering.
“And besides…” Lloyd continued. “Martel is supposed to be good and kind. So, even if she was awake and everything…why wouldn’t she want her Chosen to be happy?”
Still Colette stayed silent, still, she would not say anything.
Lloyd worried just then he had messed up, but he couldn’t take back what he meant. “But it only matters if you like this.” He grinned nervously, his lips still tingling from remembered warmth. “Because I definitely do.”
“…Me too,” Colette said, staring up at him again. The words came out fast, all as she looked up at him. “I- I really liked it!”
He hadn’t expected such intensity in her eyes. “Colette?”
“I do too, I really do, I-” she said it even faster, as if she was releasing something held insider her for so long, and then she moved to kiss him again, surprising him with the force of it. But he was eager to learn, eager to take whatever Colette was giving him right now. He held her close, kissing Colette underneath the many stars.
And if Martel really was watching and disapproving them right now in her sleep, Lloyd thought, then he didn’t care. Not if Colette wanted this too. She deserved to want things, and he promised since then, that he would keep helping her believe that with every part of her heart.
