a lil bit more detail on my editing process under cut ↓↓

im really proud of this edit, i wanted to implement a paper burning effect at the end but idk how to do that so i improvised instead!!

if you pay close attention you'd notice how the paper frame turns darker and moves closer as if it were burning and the video becomes brighter as if it were the fire, i think thats pretty neat anyway im proud of this edit

there was also some stuff that i decided to cut, one being an animation of baby bill blinking its not very good but i tried and if people wanna see it ill post it sure 💥

Mabel swallowed nervously, The end of the memory gun pointed at her head.

Mabel closed her eyes as she prepared herself for the- probably odd- feeling of the memory gun.

.. At least that was until the door was slammed open, and a very worried Dipper was there.

"M- Mabel-?? What- What are you DOING??" Dipper said, his voice louder than intended.

Fiddleford was confused, but for now, he didn't speak.. He didn't want to be caught in the crossfire of a sibling squabble.

Mabel whined in shame, looking at the ground. She felt warm, familiar arms wrap around her.

"Mabel.. What- Why?-" Dipper choked out, tears threatening to fall from his eyes.. Mabel gave no answer.

Some things are best left forgotten, Mabel thought to herself.

I heard sometimes you mix up rock specimens with rock candy

I occasionally mistake them for geodite eggs. They look nearly identical. I would lick them to make sure, but geodite eggs are coated in a liquid that when combined with spit, it makes a substance that is concerningly similar to acid.

It doesn't help that Stanley sometimes tricks me by placing rock candy in common geodite nesting areas.

Yeah! I mean, I don't see why what I did was all that bad, really... especially considering how long ago most of it was with the short lifespan humans have. You'd think he'd have gotten over it by now...

thinking about ideas i wanna explore with kat... it's hard to really dig into her deeply until paper lily is fully released, but basic concepts for my personal portrayal of her (aka these ideas may be inaccurate/end up contradicting her actual canon self in the future):

i'd like to see her like to open up to and trust more people. in general letting them support her and allowing herself some space to actually process her traumas and grief properly.

in some verses, i explore the idea of kat losing her confidence and proactive, action-oriented nature as a result of being traumatized by her experience with the occult... so it might be nice to also explore the idea of her gaining that back a little, learning that while it's not good to be reckless all the time, a little bit of courage and boldness isn't a bad thing either. maybe she'd do some more research on the occult without recklessly doing rituals, too, lol.

plus general coming-of-age stuff that comes with being a teenager... her finding a purpose in life, finding what she values, etc. i feel like she's been so absorbed in the occult that she's neglected the real world a bit?? there's also her fear of people leaving to deal with.

and in general struggling with trauma, having to be patient with herself and dealing with frustration about the things she can't do - dealing with general feelings of hopelessness and anger towards the world, too. i've also got a few thoughts on like, her reputation with her classmates and how that might change/affect her, but i might make another post on that later.
