🌮🍗 Applebee's Chicken Wonton Tacos 🍗🌮

📋 Ingredients:

🐔 Chicken:

2 chicken breasts, finely diced

2 tbsp hoisin sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp minced fresh ginger

🥗 Asian-inspired slaw:

1 bag coleslaw

4 green onions, thinly sliced

1 tbsp sesame oil

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp honey

🌮 For tacos + toppings:

16 Wonton wrappers

Sweet chili sauce, to serve

Chopped cilantro, to serve

Sesame seeds, to serve

📝 Instructions:

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray wonton wrappers with cooking spray or brush with a bit of olive/canola oil, then drape over the side of a 9×13 baking dish. Bake for 7-8 minutes, watching closely so they don't burn. Take wonton shells out of the oven, then gently pull them apart while they are still pliable so that they are more easily filled with toppings. Bake another 7-8 minutes until crispy.

2️⃣ Mix diced raw chicken in a large bowl with hoisin sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Heat a large skillet over high heat and sauté chicken for 7-8 minutes, tossing frequently until cooked through.

3️⃣ Meanwhile, mix ingredients for coleslaw together in a large bowl.

4️⃣ Add chicken mixture to wonton shells, then top with coleslaw, drizzle with sweet chili sauce, and sprinkle with cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve and enjoy!

💡 Notes:

◻️ Substitute the chicken breasts for boneless skinless chicken thighs if preferred.

◻️ Make your own sweet chili sauce using a combination of hot sauce and honey for a personalized touch.

◻️ Add in extra toppings like grated carrot or minced mushrooms for more variety.

◻️ For a low-carb option, use lettuce wraps instead of wonton wrappers.

Ruby Rose is AroAce in my fanfic.

This decision was made actually when this project was first being started (which was a full year ago) as a rewrite.

I had contemplated making her lesbian to be with Penny but decided to save that idea for later, perhaps for a canon-adjacent V9 where Penny is healed by Ever After's magical properties and is reunited with Ruby as they start to find out their feelings along with the Bees and maybe Weiss and Jaune.

But that remains a concept for a later day, as I am happy with having Ruby remain as AroAce.

🌡️ Muslims’ attitude in Times of Affliction

My brothers, the norm of affliction is that it affects the believer, the disbeliever, the righteous and the wicked.

But for the believer, it is a purification and elevation of ranks (in Jannah), while for the disbeliever and the defiantly disobedient, it is a hastened punishment and a warning so that perhaps they may return (to the truth).

🕯️ The prophets were tested the most amongst mankind, then the next best, and the next the best... People are tested according to the level of their Iman [faith].

🦠 The Sahaba were afflicted by the plague, yet they were the best of people after the prophets, and a large number of them and their progeny died in it. They were nothing but patient and hoped for Allah's reward.

🔆 Whoever died from among the Muslims, whether in Turkey or Syria, has the reward of a martyr, because our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

📜 “There are five types of martyr: one who dies of plague, one who dies of an abdominal disease, one who is drowned, one who is killed by his house falling on him, and the martyr in Allah’s path.”

(Bukhari and Muslim.)

◻️ Whoever passed away has arrived to his Lord, but we, who are still alive must:

1. Think well of Allah Almighty. And know that He does not decree anything except there's a wisdom behind it. He is the Almighty who said:

📜 "Say, "O My servants who have believed, fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world is good, and the earth of Allah is spacious. Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account [i.e., limit].”

(Qur'an translated meanings 39:10)

2. Assist our people as much as we can. Our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim, He does not wrong him, fail him, or hand him over (to an oppressor)." [Hadith]

📍Through this affliction, Allah extracts from us the servitude of aiding our brothers and sisters.

It is the duty of everyone who can provide any kind of assistance and aid, to hasten to help his brothers as much as he can. "Allah assists His slave as long as the slave is in assistance of his brother" [Hadith]

3. Remember that this is a warning for us. The affliction has taken whom it has, and has left a warning for whoever is still alive. Allah Almighty said:

📜 "And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us]."

(Qur'an translated meanings 6:42).

So we must beware of being among those regarding whom Allah said:

📜 "Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing."

(Qur'an translated meanings 6:43).

📍🤲🏽 We must beseech Allah Almighty, seek refuge in Him and repent for our shortcomings.

My brothers, as you look at the buildings collapsing, imagine: did any of its inhabitants imagine that this would happen to them. By Allah, none of us are far from affliction.

i got lazy and didn’t post yesterday but i was pretty productive. i did good on a chemistry test and when i got home i mainly just studied apes (another test i did good on☺️). i’m so glad i haven’t been burning out as fast lately i think it’s because i’m finally working in time for myself. i only have 1 episode left of shadow and bone and i’m almost done with the final gambit I CANT PUT IT DOWN
