yeah no fr you get it. i notice so many little things that just feel weird when games try to be too realistic. like modern fallout games? you immediately notice when character's mouths or animations are wonky. tbh i play far too few super-realistic-games to really point out any ones i have flaws with but like!

final fantasy! 15 is pretty realistic but still keeps that anime vibe. prompto's hair is a little silly but hey, its ff! and it fits in the world and doesn't feel off. kh? entirely silly. even in kingdom hearts 3 where there's a lot more like "high-def" textures and stuff, all the characters are so silly and anime-esque that it still just works.

hell i sometimes think ts2 has more polish and personality than ts4, and that came out in approx 2004...

idk man i love my silly anime games and my clunky/chunky/low-poly graphics. realism is fun as are pretty graphics but man. i can look past shitty graphics if the story and characters are fun and i have a reason to care. but if the graphics are slowing my device down and i can barely play? that's just a pain.

on that note why are assassin's creed games so fucking big. i had to dl over 100gb for ac: valhalla awhile ago. is this even necessary anymore...? ngl i like ac4's graphics more than the more modern games sometimes...

No, but exactly, that's why i brought up ff. It has a dash of realism to it, but the charas look so stylised in the anime way despite that, that flaws don't jump out as much as they do in the RE engine, to me. I very much remember wonky hair being a thing despite the fact that i played one (1) 3D final fantasy entry, and that was years ago, but it never struck me as odd, because... it was stylised, and it could get explained as part of the style. When you aim for photorealism, even the most minor flaw registers as - a flaw, cannot be explained by saying "it's stylised".

And, yeah, real. I can't tell you for Valhalla or Odyssey - I don't own them and don't really have an urge to get them either (not in an elitist "it's not a proper ac game", but just a bit of a side-eyeing "i play ac for certain reasons, and odyssey and valhalla took a path that removed those reasons"), but from what I hear they have a fuckton of content. I think Origins also took so much to download, it was ridiculous.

aubrey has had a rather typical life within panem for a capitol citizen. all their life, they have been draped in luxury and finery, and it’s something that ultimately? it’s something they’re incredibly unapologetic for even to now. panem is the greatest country in the world, with its shining jewel the capitol being the place that they had the honour to call their stomping ground.

as a child, they had everything that they ever wanted. and what they wanted most? was attention. in school, they had to be the one with the nicest clothes, with the most friends. what they wanted nothing more was to be adored. maybe that’s why from a young age they looked up to the victors of the games with such high regard. they built themselves from nothing, they faced challenges head on, they came out victorious and were lifted up above the people of their districts to be remembered and hailed as heroes. that’s what the capitol let its residents believe, and it’s not something that aubrey ever questioned. they were idolised, their memory going to live in a hall of fame. that’s what aubrey wanted, to be remembered.

the flickerman family were well known in the media. so, at the age of eighteen when aubrey began to show an interest in what they wanted to actually go ahead and do with their life, they looked for options— and each one pointed to the same. they wanted their name up in lights in some regard. they dabbled in acting, and it’s something that they weren’t fully set on. no, what they enjoyed, what they lived for, was being known as themselves.

“i want my own show.” they said to the board of directors. their family name carried weight, and they knew that. just look at the country’s most beloved host of the hunger games, for example. their name alone would bring in views. demanding? perhaps, but they knew that they could portray themselves as charismatic, if not flirtatious to the audience watching and who didn’t like a dashing face on during daytime television. 

SPOTLIGHT is a show that revolves around the happenings of the capitol and the districts of panem (the latter having been pushed upon them against their will, because they had to ‘connect to the districts’). a weekly daytime talk show where they will have special guests, performers, past victors, even representatives of the districts on to show the people of their country the truth of what happens in and out of the capitol. on the runup to the games, the show becomes more about the hunger games themselves, as much does every other television broadcast across the country. 

do they sprinkle in random tidbits of white-lies to stir up the pot and get the city talking? nothing that they’d ever admit to. after all, they’ve never lied in their life (they say, completely lying). 

although they’ve heard rumblings and whisperings of some sort of rebellion, and even though there was a very public display of apparent suspects of the uprising being broadcast to the masses, ultimately? aubrey isn’t much fussed. if the districts want to have another war to be crushed by the capitol, that’s on them. at the end of the day, they’re paying penance for a war that wrought their land and cost the lives of countless panem citizens, but they aren’t going to really give much of a shit either way. it’s as a wise woman once said-- let them eat cake.

i can't believe there wasn't mayonnaise involved in this someway. hannah, hannah, hannah... i've known you for so many years now and I haven't regretted a single moment of one. from hook and anne pirate bonding moments, to dutch and anne, to prompto and anne fighting daemons .. we've literally just about done it all. You never blink at crossovers or making something work, you're game for whatever and I think that's so fucking beautiful. Watching you and Mel since the two of you found one another on this site has been so much fucking fun. There's sparks when two people click that hard writing wise and you guys never cease to amaze me with what you come up with. Thank you for always astounding me with your writing and the stories you tell while also making the dash such a fun and lighthearted place. WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE :  i heard about ffxv from one of my brothers (rock) and saw kingsglaive first. needless to say, i was dying for more information and started playing the game when my other brother (shane) left his copy of the game at my house. noctis’s resolve despite everything he’s gone through and how fucked over he’s been by the astrals really caught my attention along with several other aspects.  WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVORITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :  first was that he only has one parent - same as me, but i lost the opposite one. noctis was ignored in favor of regis’s duties and that resonated quite a bit for me given how i grew up being ignored for other family members. wasn’t hard to relate to that but my all-time favorite has to be that he did what he had to even if that meant he wouldn’t see the end result of what he was dying for. some serious bravery there and i hope to be even a fraction of that one day. WHAT’S  YOUR  BIGGEST  INSPIRATION  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  WRITING :  music, replaying the game, imagining noctis’s reaction to other media/games. FAVORITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS : angst for the most part but mainly i just want an honest to god fucking story. i don’t want to have them sit in one place and do nothing but talk for almost twenty replies. something big and epic even if it’s not wholly planned if my absolute favorite. seeing where the muses go with their reactions and then being left on the edge of my seat wondering what might happen is incredible. even if we’re plotting together on discord, there’s always that chance that how something is worded or what the character picks up, moves, breaks, or even finds in the room can really change the direction. most of all, i like knowing my partner is as invested and having as much fun as i am. BIGGEST  STRUGGLE  IN  REGARDS  TO  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :  the dying fandom. noctis is my one muse that’s always awake and ready to go but there seems to be fewer ffxv rpers running around. plugging him into different games/fandoms via verses helps but there’s always that want to explore other relationships in his canon that i’ve not yet touched, mainly: luna, gladio, ignis, regis, cor, drautos, and talcott. guess you could say that’s something of a wishlist.
