this was before i knew what manifesting was... I used to be SUPER into JJBA and I really wanted this game!! suddenly my brother bought a XBOX with his allowence and also started paying for the xbox gamepass and "JJBA all star battle R" was on there!

I really wanted those ikea pegboards to make one of those pinterest kpop desk things but idk why but I didnt want to ask my parents... then like next week my dad bought them?? and installed them without telling me!

𖹭 송편 during 추석 (chuseok)

so my family is (half) korean and during chuseok ur supposed to eat 떡 (dduk) (specifically 송편) and my parents and brother are super busy and we cant really celebrate chuseok because we dont have any korean family here and the korean community is SUPER SUPER small around here... and all day during chuseok I was thinking "maybe we will have 송편 his year!" and thought about eating 송편. But unfortunatly when I came home and I asked my mom if she bought 떡 and she said no and I was SUPER dissapointed. Later that evening my moms friend sent us 송편 that she made and my whole family had some!

had some stretch marks cuz height lol ( im manifesting getting taller rn cuz I stopped for a little while.) anyway I just told myself they would go away even though everyone told me stretch marks stay even if they go lighter and they went away like 99%!

Happy 추석/Chuseok!

추석 also known as 한가위, is Koreas autumn harvest festival, similar to thanksgiving or other such celebrations. It's celebrated in both North and South Korea and lands on the 15/8 on the lunar calendar so it changes each year, but for this year it starts on September 28 and goes on until the 30th. Uniquely 추석 guarantees 3 days off; the day before, 추석 day, and day after.

Where Does Chuseok Come From?

Chuseok is an age old celebration so when it originated is a bit debated. Some think it comes from around 57 BC - 935 AD as a part of another celebration called gabae. Gabae was a month-long weaving contest between two teams and when the competition was over the winner would be treated to a feast from the losing team.

Other think that it is tied to celebrations for the harvest moon where people would offer deities and ancestors new harvests. Which means chuseok could have started off as a worship ritual.

Whichever the origins or history, 추석 has developed to be a big family event in Korea, with a lot of specific foods and events going on. The event celebrates family, food, and the large harvest before winter starts to come in.

Some common holiday foods are:

Hangwa ��과

Songpyeon 송편

Before there was more of a culture to make 송편 with family and go all out; doughs would be died naturally and made into unique shapes. There was even a common saying that said: “송편을 잘 빚으면 예쁜 딸을 낳는다” or in English: “If you shape 송편 well, you’ll have a pretty daughter”.

What are the traditions of Chuseok?

Visiting with Offerings Ancestors Graves:

추석 is all about family, both alive and past. Koreans usually hold a memorial service, or charye (차례), in honor of their ancestors and offer certain foods to them such as rice and fruits. Which additional food is offered changes a bit depending on region though, in Seoul salted fish and meat dishes are offered along with rice for instance.

When giving appreciation to ancestors Koreans also go to the family grave plot and sweep and clean the area. Then, they bow to their ancestors graves as a whole family which is called sungmyo (성묘).

Giving Gifts on Chuseok

People also need to celebrate their live family! 추석 gift sets are common to find around in Korea before the holiday begins in stores and supermarkets. Many gifts are very food and health focused; from having fruit, alcohol, and meat, to ginseng products, health products, and others.

Interestingly though; the fruit gifts are pretty pricey and filled with premium fresh fruits. So don't mistake them for the fruits you normally get at the grocery store. Quality Beef is also an expensive gift to give that people really love.

ARMY NOTES -Songpyeon is a traditional rice cake made and eaten during Chuseok. Most often they are intentionally shaped to resemble a half-moon. You can read more about them (+ recipe!!) here. -Chuseok (추석) also known as Hangawi (한가위) is a 3-day autumnal harvest festival held every year on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon. For the tag game, Murder Queen?

Not exactly little but I am so happy that you asked about my metaphorical baby. And again, thank you for tagging me!

So Murder Queen kind of started when I was watering my vegetables. I noticed that my neighbors on one side had painted their door and wondered if my neighbors from the other side had gotten a dog recently cause I saw their teen son walking a dog. But like, it could have been a side business and not a permanent pet. 

But that got me thinking. We know that on one side of Wayne Manor is Drake Manor. But what about the other side. Is there another neighbor? Or are the Wayne’s the house at the end of the (several mile long) street?

I searched google but found nothing except a Reddit thread where the Drakes were on one side, the Waynes in the middle and the Addams Family on the other. I’ll admit that it was hilarious. 

I put the neighbor question down after that until I saw a prompt by @stealingyourbones . Now, @stealingyourbones writes DC and Danny Phantom crossovers. One of those crossovers was if some batfamily member had an injury/scar soulbond with one of the bats. 

That got me cackling because of the angst and the drama that would come from gaining fighting scars from your soulmate, who to the best of your knowledge was not part of the cape community. 

I had learned in some odd ao3 fic that The Court Of Owls took the children of rich Gothamites and turned them into semi-immortal assassins using experimentation.

So I combined the neighbor, scar bond, and experiment of the Court Of Owls ideas. I also decided that the bat for the job would be Damian because he used to be an assassin. Then I turned the mess of ideas into my first title. Zodiac. Not sure why I chose that name, but I think that I was half asleep from a 추석 food coma when I chose the name.(추석 is like the Korean version of the American Thanksgiving. It’s known to actually cause major traffic jams in South Korea as families travel to the houses of their grandparents. There’s so much good food but my favorite is definitely the 송편, or colorful rice cakes.)

Rant over my favorite Korean Holiday aside, Zodiac eventually turned into A Queen With Wilted Wings, which focused more on the “recovery from the influence of The Court Of Owls”.

A Queen With Wilted Wings eventually turned into I’m Not A Noble Lady (I’m The Queen In Charge). That iteration turned into the draft that focused on the relationship between the main character (then given the name Sophie) and Damian as they navigated Gotham upper society.

I’m Not A Noble Lady (I’m The Queen In Charge) became Murder Queen. Murder Queen added onto the “experiment” aspect and gave the main character feathery Owl wings because I found and binged The Croaking on Webtoon. The Croaking is amazing and I adore the drama in the story but I wish Ky and Scra would communicate! Oh! And the creator is on Tumblr as well as @megjgrey!

Murder Queen also made The Court Of Owls more like the backstory of the main character so it (the court) isn’t really a big part of the story. The reason for that is because the main character (now known as Phoebe) became more of a Red Hood Style Mob Queen but for the ex Court Of Owls.

Reading back on this I’m questioning my life choices because it’s longer than some of my short essays but that’s a problem for future me.

저는 하루종일 잠만 잤습니다. 저녁을 송편 몇 개랑 양아 꼬치 하나를 일찍 먹었더니 배 고프네요. 아침에 제사 지내고 빨리 뭐라도 먹어야지. 할머님 댁이 여기 시골 집과 비슷한가 봐요. 이 집 짓기 전에 시골 오면 지냈던 그 컨테이너라고 해야 하나, 그 앞에 평상 있었는데 그때랑 비슷한 듯. 막내 고모가 집에서 키우는 강아지 데리고 오셨는데. 고모들을 보면 최애 자식이 있음. 우리 엄마가 나보다 오빠를 더 좋아하듯ㅇㅇ 그 컨테이너에서 '어린 왕자'를 발견해서 예전에 그 얘기를 꺼냈던 건가? 어쨌든 엄빠가 나 모르게 남자친구를 데리고 시골을 데려간 건 맞다.

이 집을 지은 것에서 아빠는 엄청난 프라이드를 느껴서 '아무나 사는 곳이 아니다'고 여기 올 때마다 말씀하시는데 귀에 딱지 앉겠다. 남자친구는 아빠가 대단해 보이고 존경스러울 수 있지만 냉정한 딸의 입장에선, 음... 그렇다고 딸의 입장에서 엄마가 ���화하기 쉬운 성격이냐... 음... 고모들을 만나면 '너희 부모님 성격 이해하지만 그래도 네가 부모님을 이해해드려야 한다'고 하시지만... 부모님이 저물어가는 해라고 해서 모든 걸 이해하며 참을 순 없잖아요? 모르겠다, 난.

약간 입버릇처럼 '독립해라'고 하고, '알겠다, 나도 진심으로 그러고 싶다, 그런데 나가라고 해서 나간다고 하면 또 막지 않았냐'고 하면 '나가라. 안 말린다. 그런데 네가 지금 독립할 수 있는 처지냐'고 하면 '적금 깨면 된다'고 대답하고 '그 적금을 왜 깨냐'고 하시고. '너 나가는 거 안 붙잡는데 내가 원하는 방식으로 독립해'라는 논리가 지겨워 죽겠음.... 그리고 진심으로 나가라고 하는 게 아니라 내가 굽히길 바라셔서 이렇게 코너로 몰고 가는 게 너무 뻔히 계산됨... 진짜 난 이해가 안 간다.

제가 1년 넘었나? 연예계 뉴스를 꼬박꼬박 살피는데 내 앞길 막으려 설치다가 오히려 아웃 된(혹은 쉬었다 복귀했다고 하지만 계약은 이미 해지된 채 들러리로만 활동하고 있을 거라 추측되는) 연예인이 추측으로 20명 정도는 되거든요? 과연 거기서 진짜 나를 엿 먹이려던 사람은 누구일지 다 살펴보겠다.

오늘은 딱히 한 게 없이 보내서 일상은 적을 거리가 없네요. 대신 요즘 인간관계에서 지친 면을 쭉 써내려간 듯. 연휴 푹 쉬라고요.

일들이 생기는 건 아니에요. 그럴 단계도 지났고. 근데 이런 인간관계에 내가 놓여 있다는 것에 엄청난 압박감이 평소에도 있다는 것. 이런 관계를 유지하고 있다는 사실 자체만으로도. 그래도 뭐, 난 긍정적이니까. 또 할 게 너무 많아 이렇게 스트레스 받다가도 내 할 일 하다 보면 다 잊습니다.
