Thinking about how Chase's parents didn't feed him enough so he's likely used to not eating for long periods at a time, so he's actually pretty light as a result. Like, it's kinda scary how light he is.
Also thinking about how because of this, he's not at all picky and will eat most things served to him, given that 1. One of the Beach House Channel gimmicks is eating weird stuff and 2. He spends the first few minutes of episode 9 eating a bowl something likely made by Chef, even while Bowie and Emma are persuading Zee to join their alliance.
Bottom line, Chase's eating schedule is fucked up.
oh my godddd. oh I'm unwell about this. you're so real he is incredibly light. not only is he the shortest man in the cast he's also the lightest by a. terrifying amount. genuinely scary amount. and also given that the beach house probably has enough money that he's been able to live off of high quality/good tasting food for the past few years it's kinda weird that he would be able to eat chefs food without complaining. kind of strange. he would surely be the first to complain.
and he only lost in the wheel of vomit because he gets into a fight with emma. AND ALSO the reason he thought that the half chocolate bar was a good enough apology for Emma was because he wasn't given food by his parents so he still considers it a massive act. god I am. so unwell about him. youre always so correct

Thinking about the "Chase is used to not eating for long periods thanks to his parents not feeding him" thing and it got me thinking:
Even after getting away from them (via the Beach House/Total Drama/Moving in with Bowie), there are still times where he unconsciously doesn't eat for varying periods of time (few hours at best, nearly a week at worst), sadly because of just how used to not eating he is.
Plus, there are times where (due to having to binge on leftover pizza late at night just to not starve) he'll just start binge eating, particularly after unconsciously not eating for a while (more often than not then go back to not eating).
Nothing was really done about it at the Beach House, but after moving in with Bowie, he(Bowie) makes a mental note to make sure that Chase has a proper eating schedule (he just kinda, forgets that it's not like how it was with his parents) -ððŠ
what happened to hello. how are you. how are you going. clutching my head and collapsing onto my knees. he's got the worst relationship with food ever it's genuinely a cause for concern. he didn't eat for a week while on total drama and everyone got super concerned. then they did the wheel of vomit and he was accused of knowing the challenges in advance but he's genuinely just. like that. Bowie is trying his hardest to help him and he's doing a good job. genuinely how could you do this

Hehehehehehehehe, I'm super proud of this aughhh! I wanted to draw him for a while and finally got around to doing it. It took a few takes, but I'm happy with what I ended up with, at least for now! TvT
I definitely wanna think of more headcanons and lore for him, so expect that in the future. I already have some ideas swirling around, so I'm cooking up something! But I do have a few things, so take these ((all headcanons are based purely off of speculation from pictures)):
He's more on the serious side but friendly and inquisitive, and according to his supposed translated canon, he has a major sweet tooth! He loves his fruits, cakes, sweets, and sugars!!
He works for the more obscure/isolated branch of the Octonauts Organization in China, called "The Field," and lives with his coworker and right-hand, Agu the Hedgehog, at their Rainforest Outpost (basically the same situation as Tracker), in the Xishuangbanna Rainforest of the Yunnan Province of China.
