I only have one favorite war criminal (most characters aren't!), and I can't really defend Sauron per se... On the making him worse side, it's canon but I'd like to see more done with the horrors of his necromantic ways. Or for a slight defense of part of the reason I like him, he's funny, has flair, and is more than a bit ridiculous, and while he sulks and broods, he's not soggy in the slightest, aside from that time he was surprised by a tsunami and that's literal sogginess.

This gave me surprising trouble to answer! It's not a debate per se, but one of the things I'd like to know more about is the Second Kinslaying and the leadup to it. The Fall of Doriath is a bit of a mess in the Silm and other books. The 'Concerning the Hoard' letter gives a version of the events leading to the Sack of Menegroth (the denoument of the Narn, from Hurin's release to Sarn Athrad) that are detailed, make sense, and that I like, but there's nothing about the Second Kinslaying and I'd like more on that.

This is it! I'd finally reached to all thirdy-one Inktober arts of 2023. It's been heck of a ride recently when working hard throughout this month. Despite some trials and errors to learn back from; especially from past months I'd finished almost of my previous completed Inktober arts this year. That's why where I'd listed from my Inktober list of 2023 for "Day 20" to "31" as question marks/unfinished ones. However, it's time to moving on to other things like checking my Filipino pal's previous posts. Also when continuing one of my previous topic reviews; including with my recent new controller. I tried taking breaks while I'm not doing busy art activities or something. Do hope I'll take a chance for awhile.

Now to close up by having two explorers and the naughty red panda kooplings story its conclusion. It turns out, that giant pumpkin suddenly contains with of course....sweet treats! This is unexpected for Sallie Chips, but her Awoofy companion is excited to see hoards of candy. She don't know if it's safe to eat or not, but this is Halloween. I don't wanted to tell them, but it still contains some magic stuff that the red panda kooplings accidentally cast spell; way back when riding on a clown car before changing a huge pumpkin. I can seen them chuckle from behind. It's this some kind of prepared pranks they're planning. Then It was an happy accident they can go along. Do wonder what would happened next? If Sallie Chips and Awoofy can take one pieces of candy, it'll have side effect whether changing forms or having sick faces. Probably both if you can imagine what it's like.

However, this will be the end of my Inktober arts of 2023. There's plenty of time to celebrate today's Halloween; unless I'm waiting to get some treats from my mom later. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy for October 2023 before moving to November; including feasts and floats. 🦃🎈

Some character exploration and headcanons as I write the Vos Possession AU:

Adventure trio my beloveds… [similarly to my last infodump, these are headcanons for the game, but are all canon in my AU]

weapon: sword 🗡️ (alternatively fists)

very headstrong and sometimes gets too caught up in the moment to realize something is happening

has a perfect sense of direction, survival instincts, and tracking capabilities

—Extras:

-Sea Temple leaves him with tinnitus, PTSD, and a partially blinded left eye

-used to wear more red apparel (where he got the nickname Velvet Tornado) but has since switched to colors that reflect his fallen friends (Vos- blue, Sammy- beige)

weapon: potions 🧪

inventory management (often overpacks for adventures just in case)

can enchant items without an enchantment table, only needs the lapis (knows all enchants by heart and can read/write the font)

—Extras:

-has cold hands, is very cold in general (always wears warm outfits no matter the temperature)

-fascination with sea lanterns

-developed photophobia while in the temple and was much more talkative pre-Sea Temple adventure

often built makeshift abodes for the three to stay in temporarily during adventures

very knowledgeable about biomes, mobs, and cartography from years of being an explorer with Nurm

speaks fluent Villic (they translate when the group enters a village)

-has a journal used to catalog flora/fauna from her expeditions

-collects plants

Interactions:

Jack and Vos have been adventuring together since they were young and are essentially inseparable, rarely going on adventures without the other (have matched experience and have saved the other’s life)

meeting Jack was the reason Sammy decided to take up adventuring in favor of exploring (inspired her to get out of comfort zone)

Vos was teaching Sammy to make tipped arrows (the potion in her inventory was from him)

Sammy introduced Vos to the concept of wrapping his hands (+ his leather boots were a gift from them)

Sammy usually has to keep the other two in check, but on occasion would need assistance from Vos to convince Jack not to do something reckless

Extras:

—The trio liked taking turns picking places to go adventuring:

Jack usually planned adventures around treasure hunting or thrill-seeking. (Dude treasure-hoards like a dragon.) He liked to test his limits and improve his abilities at any opportunity. If the other two were having trouble, he’d always be there to help them. These adventures were always challenging, but in a fun way (until the Sea Temple.) Favorite biome: desert / mesa.

Vos adored visiting ancient ruins and kept a stash of artifacts of unknown value. He also liked finding treasures, but would usually give them to Jack. On occasion, these locations would turn out to be more perilous and dilapidated than anticipated. Favorite biome: ocean.

Sammy usually picked places that were less dangerous to keep Jack and Vos from burning themselves out, but never strayed from thrill-seeking if she knew the other two were fine to handle it. Neither liked to admit when they needed a break: (Jack out of pride, Vos out of embarrassment.) Sammy would take every opportunity to teach the two about the world around them on expeditions, especially reminding Jack to slow down and appreciate the places he visited. (Rather than seeing everything as a challenge to be beat as fast as possible.) Favorite biome: jungle.

—All three have vastly different expressions of speech:

Jack is no stranger to cursing, loves making puns, and often uses Minecraft metaphors/similes

Vos’ exclamations of excitement are almost always references to poetry (“Callou, callay!” or “Frabjous day!”) and he prefers using nonsense words in substitute of cursing

Sammy often uses botany terms for expressions and they don’t curse either

—Structure Block preferences: (if they had made it to the final room in the temple)

Jack and Sammy would have voted to take the Tower of the Warrior.

Had the events of the temple not gone awry, Vos would have voted to take the Wall of the Builder. However, after being trapped in the obsidian cages for so long, when he finally sees the structure blocks, he likely would have avoided the Wall of the Builder at all costs.

—I associate the three with land (Jack), sea (Vos), and sky (Sammy). No idea why.

—Similarly to the Order of the Stone, if I had to assign them ores… Jack- gold, Vos- lapis lazuli, Sammy- iron or diamond, and Nurm- emerald.

—Nurm didn’t accompany the trio during the initial adventure to the temple. He only found out later upon reuniting with Jack.

Cooling Down

Characters involved: 🗡️ (Midas), 🐏 (Osric) CW// Self-inflicted injury

Midas storms out of the base, pissed off. Shepherd's words buried themselves deeply into his skin, causing Midas's face to glow red from anger. He clutches his fists as he stomps toward Liyue Harbor.

"Who does that son of a bitch think he is?" He mumbles to himself. "That ass-kissing, shit-eating piece of fucking—" His fume-filled grumbles stop when he spots Osric, watching his sheep ears subtly twitch as he converses with a vendor.

"Oh no," Midas groans, "why is he here..." He wants to approach him and say hi... but he's still frustrated; he doesn't want to accidentally lash out at Osric. The last thing he needs is to ruin a blossoming friendship.

He huffs, storming off into an alleyway before Osric can spot him. He fills his head with images of Shepherd's smug face and his teasing and taunting before punching at a nearby wall. Grunts echo through the dark alley as his raw, bleeding knuckles strike the stone wall harder and harder. His final punch sends an explosion of electrical energy into the wall, cracking it. Afterward, he calms down, his knuckles bruised and bloodied.

"My gods," he exhales, pulling his bandana from his pocket and ripping it in half before wrapping it around his knuckles. "This will have to do..."

He emerges from the alleyway, combing his fingers through his hair before approaching Osric.

"Oz! Buddy!" He calls for him, waving with a cheery smile on his face.

Osric brightly smiles when he sees Midas. "Hi! It's been a while. How have you been?" He hugs him, his sheep ears fluttering as he holds him tight.

Midas cheeks flush, taken aback by his embrace. "I... Um... I've been doing alright... What about you?"

"I've been doing great. I decided to take a break from exploring to enjoy the sights and delicacies of the Harbor." He studies the bandit's face, noticing the disturbance in his brow. "Are you okay?"

"Huh," Midas clears his throat, "No— Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry."

"... Okay," he hesitantly nods before pulling away, "What brings you here? I assume you're also taking a break, as well, from... treasure hoarding?"

"O-Oh... Um..." Midas flushes, not wanting to reveal the real reason for why he's at the Harbor. "Ah... Well... I guess you caught me." He chuckles nervously as he rubs the back of his neck.

Osric softly gasps when he notices his wrapped knuckles, growing concerned as he grasps his hand, caressing the blood-stained fabric.

"... What happened to your hands?" His sheep ears droop slightly as he looks up at Midas, worried.

Midas regretfully looks at the ground. "It's... Don't worry about it. I had a minor accident," he sighs deeply before returning his gaze to him.

"Do you want me to patch you up or something? I don't think—"

"I said I'm fine," he raises his voice. After sighing, he softly smiles at him. "I'm sorry... Please just... Don't worry about me too much, okay? I'll be alright." He gently ruffles Osric's hair.

Osric smiles back despite his concerns still plaguing his mind.

"How about we hang out? I know a cozy tea shop we can visit."

Osric's sheep ears flick as he considers Midas's offer. "... Sure. It'd be nice to try out some of Liyue's tea."

Midas smiles as he wraps his arm around Osric's shoulder, guiding him toward the tea house. They chat casually while they stroll, catching up with one another.

The both of you face a hoard of 100 buffalos. Taking about 1 damage * 50 buffalos seems to be unavoidable for both of you, unless...?

Out of sheer LUCK, 10 of the incoming buffalos redirect their destination, and, along with your trust lid, you only took 40*0.4 damage, while your opponent took 60*1 damage.

Unfortunately that strike left the lid smashed, rendering it useless. R.I.P garbage lid. :(
