Vet Reader coming to feed Yelan by the sea and finding that Arlecchino had followed her as well, making her feel vulnerable because now she had two apex predators eying her up like she’s food.

I imagine that Yelan and Arlecchino’s first meeting is similar to Furina and Lynette’s first meeting (except Arlecchino doesn’t bap Yelan on the nose) so Arlecchino just peeks over the edge of the water and watches as Yelan stares back at her with the same amount of interest. They seem to be silently communicating something to each other, but the Vet can’t exactly tell because they’re both such stoic women. Nevertheless, the tension is clear, yet being the mature adults they are, they nod in agreement for something that the Vet doesn’t know about…

Despite seeing each other as mate rivals, they both silently communicate that they enjoy “scaring” their dearest Vet, so expect to find yourself being circled on both land and water, as both women are keen on making you tremble out of fear and something else <3

Though the meadow grasshopper (Chorthippus parallelus) is typically distinguished by its green and brown coloration, a genetic mutation called erythrism leaves some individuals looking pretty in pink! Erythrism is the overproduction of red pigment. While these rare insects are beautiful to look at, pink grasshoppers are hindered by their vivid coloring because it makes hiding from predators much more difficult.

the other day i was thinking about how the first time i read htn, i was waiting the whole book for a twist about john. specifically, a twist in personality i was waiting for him to 'drop the act', so to speak, and reveal himself as a cruel, intelligent manipulator instead of the most pathetic piece of man i've ever read. but then the twist happened, and it completely blew my mind bc even after the twist, he still is just like that. he exploded the heart of one of the few people who maybe ever really loved him, but he's still just like that. and that hurt even more. the aspects of his nature that briefly endeared me to him suddenly became repulsive and honestly insulting. mercymorn is right, how dare you sit on the couch and discreetly eat peanuts. how dare you tell the child begging you for absolution to get a hobby. he can't even do fascism right. he literally just exists to eat hot chip and lie and that's so INSULTING. it's INSULTING. JOHN GAIUS'S EXISTENCE IS SUCH A SLAP IN THE FACE.
