Was thinking about eleven year old Fawn Spots Harry and made myself laugh because he would be so angry that technology doesn’t work at Hogwarts.

Full on “What do you mean Olympus has cell service and the middle of Scotland doesn’t?! It’s not even the same plane of fucking existence and calls aren’t even long distance!” Little man has not been more than a phone call away from his family since he was adopted and he is not coping well, but beyond that the lack of online databases, easy way to compile notes and write the eight million essays they’re assigned, and actual entertainment that isn’t ’dangerous flying dodgeball’ (which he does love tbh but still not everyone does) would drive him up the wall. Fuck the lack of things like highlighters and binders would piss him off. 

He would show up with a spiral notebook and a mechanical pencil and a pureblood child would pass out from shock. He writes his family constantly begging for any and all stationary they can send. He uses breaks to type up last term’s notes and introduces the first final study guide in Times New Roman into Hogwarts and makes a killing off of selling them. The older pureblood students beg on bended knee for help making their own and the muggleborns realize oh shit they can corner the market per year and subject. Harry will drag Hogwarts into the modern age if he has to do so kicking and screaming.

fake psychic Tim but its just. its just psych. Jason dies and batman goes off the deep end so Tim (instead of becoming robin) starts going ham on the 'tips to the police' bc if the police can deal with the smaller crimes then Tim doesn't have to worry about batman killing a petty thief.

Except he's running himself into the ground and he starts getting sloppy bc he's giving the local police info, and bludhaven info (bc dick) AND probably giving Nightwing info when he can and someone catches him or he leaves a paper trail and then Officer Dick Grayson apprehends him and takes him in for questioning and Tim is like "you can't talk to me without my parents or a lawyer present, I'm a minor. And my parents are in Guatemala, so you better call my lawyer."

and Dick is like "kid you're not in trouble i just need to know who's giving you this information." Because there is NO WAY this kid isn't working with someone. Someone who is using a child to drop off information, which while noble to help the police, is putting this child in danger and tim is like, pretty offended actually. That it's being implied that he COULDN'T do this himself.

So he's like "im not working for anyone."

and Dick is like "you have to be getting the info from somewhere. I just wanna help."

and Tim is like AUGH ADULTS "I just- i figured it out on my own" and its CLEAR that Dick doesn't believe him which is, first off, super insulting, never meet your heroes, and second he shouldn't be talking anyway or admit that he goes out at night or Dick will do something stupid like try to make him stop. So he's like (rolling eyes) "I'm psychic. Are you happy? Can I have my phone call now?"

last post has got me back to the line of questioning i had when i was a kid reading ttc for the first time. why was luke holding the sky? did he only hold it after they captured annabeth to trick her? or was he holding it before? bc atlas, "the general," was free by the time percy and co made it to westover, and someone had to be holding the sky for that to happen. it makes me think luke was being punished, bc he failed to get the golden fleece...exposed his plan to the camp...failed to kill percy...failed to get thalia on their side. then when percy sees luke on the mountain before the battle, he says luke looks even worse, despite luke no longer holding the sky. and if it's true that luke was being punished, then it really highlights my comment of how the minor gods and titans don't act any better than the gods

I wonder why Chris Rodriguez joined Luke in the first place. Was he jaded against the gods like Luke was? Was he following his older brother's example? And then I wonder how he coped after the Labyrinth. How did it feel to know he was basically sent on a desperate suicide mission with almost no chance of success? How did it feel to know that the camp he turned his back on, the children of the gods he had renounced, one of the very gods he had been working to destroy, ended up saving him? What was going through his mind when he came back from his madness at Camp Half-Blood thanks to one of the very gods Luke and Kronos insisted didn't care about him? Is that why he chose to stay? Did he realize Luke was wrong about Camp Half-Blood and about at least some of the gods when they welcomed him back with open arms? Did he see Dionysus save him and realize that the gods are capable of caring when it matters? Did he realize that there was a chance for the gods to be better? Did he realize there was another way to get what they wanted without war and death and deals with monsters and Titans? Is that why Chris Rodriguez chose to stay at Camp Half-Blood rather than return to the Titan army?

I read your tags on the favorite blorbo post and honestly this is the first time I've seen anyone mention 6th grade leader in the wild. May I ask what you love about him? Cuz I love him too, he's determined and tough but still very much a snotty nosed kid in a lot of ways

Gosh dude I've been a fan of him and his friends since I was like, 8. I'm sure I loved them for some other silly reason back then but currently he's just funny. Accurate to his age group back in the day so there's a dorky nostalgic feel to episodes where he has proper roles as someone from a tiny rural town. I also think there's something funny about the 6th graders being a scary force and all in the porno episode and games just for them to be like... I can't think of another word(long work day) but like, lame. LOL. And I don't mean it in a bad way! There's just something so amusing about how 'scary' they are when the main 4 are straight up killing people and the like every other episode. The 6th grade leader still having his shirt with his face on it in Post COVID got me, though he doesn't look like he had a great time imo

But really it's just that he's a funny kid, I guess. The shirt, full dedication to seeing boobs(the entire chase for the porno and straight up kidnapping Cartman once they're out of the hospital in Trent's episode is SO funny), him and the others doing their fake motorcycle noises, his totally sick dance moves in FBW the other just couldn't handle(replaying like a month ago and heading Usher's name was like walking into a wall), etc etc. He's just a brat. He's always been fun to draw, too, which is an easy plus for me personally òvó9

I lost my train of thought and this is mostly a ramble now but he's funny! And not very bright! I know the games are hit or miss on being considered canon but I'd love a brother reveal 💔 There haven't been any prominent Asian characters from his time and I'm nosy.

Some of it also comes from an AU my brother and I made for fun a while back where 6th grade leader(senior), Michael(junior), Mike(junior), Butters(sophomore), Sarah Collins(sophomore), and a couple others work together at Burger King under Rick and the shenanigans of that have been funny. Working fast food brings people together in some interesting ways. Good and bad pfft

i think one of the reasons i enjoy the percy series so much is because it’s an adaptation of the novels and not word for word the same.

at first i was a little upset by all the changes, but after rereading the books, i actually like the series even more now. as much as we all adore the books, i think we can agree that they’re not perfect. sometimes there’s plot holes, inconsistencies, or just bad writing in general. this gives rick a chance to fix those things, and that’s OKAY.

the series isn’t perfect either, don’t get me wrong, but it is nice to see the characters going on the same adventures even with some variation to the original story. i think this will allow the characters to be fleshed out more.

we have to remember that a tv show and a book is not the same medium, so the way these things are presented cannot be identical. otherwise the characters in the show would probably seem pretty flat since the books are only from percy’s perspective. the series allows us to learn more about the motives and personalities of other characters, be it annabeth, grover, or luke (personally, i’m really excited to see how his character’s story goes).

anyway, all of this is to say that the percy series is great for what it is (an adaptation of a book series). yes it could be better (cough longer and more episodes cough), but i personally really enjoy it so far.

had to think on this one cuz i didn't wanna just reiterate anything ive already said in the video essay but i think one of my favorite rae-related stories is that time aaron's girlfriend during the 80s, who worked at cei as a programmer, left him for rick bailey. and then in the white album medley, aaron (as billy bob) has a bit where he talks about how revenge isn't worth it "even if they do something real bad, like steal your girlfriend or something" in reference to this event, which he did because he knew his ex would have to program it
