In your older art (when he was a rabbit breeder named Nikita I think) Mikita seems much more… smiley than he is now. The first time I saw him (I think 2022) I remember him being gay + aro instead of aroace. I adore this character and I would love to know how he changed/developed over the years!

Oh gladly. I adore this topic. Mikita is my oldest one (8 years old now!) and i have quite a lot to say and show about him, so ill put it under the read more. For some reason the picture formatting is completly broken when i do it. Thank you for the kind words

Mikita went through quite a lot name changes now that i think about it, at least compared to my other ocs; it went hand in hand with his ethnicity mostly, as he was i believe polish first, then polish/lithuanian and only since... 2020? belarusian (which i agree is definitely... a pipeline, but theres no deeper meaning behind it; for the 70% of his life the world he lived in was 100% fictional, and at the beginning even fantasy-like). His first actual name (not "rabbit breeder", which was the title used for him in the original story instead of a name. Names were a modern au thing) if im not mistaken was Fryderyk, then Nikita, and then Mikita. That name change did probably happen around 2022 because a Belarusian belarusianized his name for me and I liked it so i changed it. Very nice of them it makes much more sense in the current story

Years 2016-2020-ish he was gay (but not aromantic) and also dating Mikołaj; frankly i do not remember when exactly that changed, but he and Mikołaj are some of my oldest still in use ocs and they were always a package deal of sorts. Last time i drew shipart of them was in 2021. I think it might have stopped around the time i realized i am aromantic? It was a very important moment to me and the second it clicked i realized most of my ocs were secretly aromantic all along too. It was pretty funny now that i think about it

Personality wise he was a bit insufferable. Well he used to age with me (like most of my ocs) so he was very much a 15 year old. Very bratty and unempathetic to others, actively manipulative and overly ambitious. He used to smile a lot yes it was very in character then and i think it makes him look more annoying so it stays. Well either way i made so much art of him in that time i actually canonized it as his younger self in canon, now that hes older. I think thats a fun choice and i still like his old design, so its good to reuse it. Art from 2020, 2021 and 2023. I think current Mika would hate his old self a lot

Frankly when it comes to my ocs the big shift from that more dystopian completly fictional setting to more historically grounded one happened at some point and i dont remember when that was. 2020-2021 ish possibly. Its hard to remember because it did not happen from day to day; i think i abandoned these ocs original story for months before i made that choice? and even then i dont remember how current DNS or such a clear idea for it came to be, especially considering that it changed basically every single character drastically. Its weird to me but i suppose that knowledge is lost. That being said i think it does coincide with the creation of Przemek, who quickly became one of my favourites, so maybe theres that. I dont know. Well either way its a very good thing that it happened

There are now Ukrainian troops on Russia's soil and over 133,000 refugees fanning out from the area telling other Russians of what's really going on near the border without censorship from Russian state media. The weaker Putin looks inside Russia, the sooner his invasion will end.

As I've said before, give Ukraine whatever weapons it wants – except nukes. Ukraine is doing NATO an enormous favor by keeping Putin at bay.

So Josephine had a horrible death in MBTT, and I had a thought while rereading the latest AWAU. Mikołaj says he literally got 3 proposals in 2 days of being a duke. How about him and Josephine hitting it of? She would become a Duchess of Velen as she was sort intended to in the other universe, BUT it would be a happy occurrence. And she definitely has a spine of steel, so she could help sort the mess the duchy is, all the while falling in love 💜

Oh now that's a good idea. I might have to use that. She'd probably make a really good duchess for Mikolaj!

QUEEN ANNE OF CILLI (1386 — 21 may 1416)

Anne of Cilli was born probably in the 1386 as a daughter of William, Count of Cilli and Anne of Poland. Her father died when she was around ten years of age and her mother had remarried to Ulrich, Duke of Teck. Because of that, Anne was left under the care of her father's brother, Herman. According to the legend, in 1399 King Jadwiga of Poland on her deathbed told Władysław Jagiełło, her current husband, to marry Anne of Cilli so he could still rule Poland. Anne was a granddaughter of Casimir The Great, the last king from the Piast dynasty, so having a descendant of him as a wife would strengthen Władysław's position on the throne. One year later a delegation composed of Jan of Oblichów, Jan of Ostrowiec and Hinczka of Rogów came to Cilli with a proposition of marriage between King of Poland and Anne. Herman, Count of Cilli immediately agreed and in 16th July 1401 Countess come to Cracow. She was welcomed by Poles with joy, but according to the Jan Długosz her future husband wasn't that happy. The wedding was postponed and Anne sent to a convent to learn polish language. Finally in 29th January 1402, in the Wawel Cathedral, their wedding took place. There were many guests, including Vytautas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania. One year later Anne was crowned a Queen of Poland and was able meet her mother for the first time since the Duchess left Celje.

The marriage of Anne and Władysław was quite cold at the beginning. The king often left the capital, leaving his wife alone. He was also known to be suspicious, introverted person, so it took him a while to trust Anne. It also didn't help that the queen had been accused of marital infidelity several times. The first time was in 1407: Klemens of Moskorzew accused Anne of cheating on her husband with Jakub of Kobylan and Mikołaj Chrząstowski and the proof was supposed to be the sudden collapse of the floor in Queen's chamber. King at first believed in that and locked Jakub. Polish nobles during the convention in Niepołomice defended Anne and the woman was found innocent. But year later she was accused of having an affair with Andrzej of Tęczyn — this case did not reach a public hearing. In 1411 the Queen was accused of having the infidelity with archbishop Kurowski, but some sources says that actually Anne accused the man for a inappropriate attitude to her person. Kurowski died during a trip to the royal court to clear things up. For a first few years of marriage Anne of Cilli didn't give a birth to a child. It is known that she had several miscarriages. In the 1408 their first and only child, Princess Jadwiga, was born. Władysław was disappointed that the baby turned out to be a girl, but for a many years she was considered the heiress of the kingdom and a possible future king.

Anne hated the Teutonic Order as much as her husband and unlike her predecessor, urged Władysław to go to war with them. And he did that. In 1410 after the battle of Grunwald, Jagiełło sent two laters to inform about his victory: one of them was sent to Anne. It is the proof that their relationship develop during the years and Władysław started to like her and see as a friend and partner.

The Queen accompanied her husband during the trip to Hungary, where Jagiełło was negotiating with Sigismund of Luxembourg. There she met with her cousin, Barbara, who was the second wife of Sigismund. Thanks to Anne, the polish regalia, which King Louis The Great once brought with him to Buda, returned to Poland. Anne also visited Lithuania and observe the Christanisation of Samogitia. In early 1415 she travelled with her husband and even met Alexander of Moldavia in Sniatyn.

Anne came back to Cracow and Władysław travelled to Lithuania. Probably at the end of 1415, the queen got sick. In 1416 a special envoy was sent to king with a information that Anne was seriously ill. Despite the news, Jagiełło didn't hurry back to Cracow. He approached the capitol in May and few days later, 21th May 1416 the queen died. She was buried in the Wawel's Cathedral, near to altor of Saint Dorothy.

Nicolaus Copernicus (Mikołaj Kopernik in Polish) was a Renaissance-era mathematician and astronomer whose heliocentric model of the universe revolutionized our understanding of space and celestial motion. He proposed that the Earth and the other planets revolve around the Sun, challenging the geocentric model that had been widely accepted for centuries.

Copernicus's groundbreaking work, "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium" (On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres), was published in 1543, just before his death. In this work, he presented a comprehensive model in which the Sun, rather than the Earth, was at the center of the solar system, with the Earth and the other planets orbiting around it.

“Anna! Stop fondling your sister and get over here, it’s Santa time!” Ryder called to her.

“Wha-?! I do not-” Anna, who was currently fondling her sister, tried to defend herself. Everyone, including Elsa, just looked at her for a while, as she started blushing. “Fine, fine, I’m coming.” She grumbled, got up, waited a bit for her kiss on the cheek from Elsa (who happily obliged) and went to get changed.

Her, Elsa, and Rapunzel were spending Christmas at Kristoff’s and Ryder’s place, since all of their families wanted nothing to do with them (reasons may or may not have included gayness and/or incest), and Anna has been voted to be this year’s Santa, which hurt Kristoff’s feelings just a tiny bit.

She went to the changing room, and thought about how lucky it was to find a friend group willing to look past some incest. Although she was not fondling anyone, they were just partaking in some very platonic cuddling, thank you very much.

She took off her I come in peace wooly sweater (and yes, she did knit it herself with some alien motive, and double yes, Elsa was currently wearing her own I am peace version) and put on the Santa… (Hoodie? Sweater? Jacket? Top? Crop Top? One of those, probably. She made a mental note to look up “santa crop top” later) upper article of clothing while huffing and grunting dramatically, because being dramatic is just what Anna does. She quickly put on the fake beard (having given up on growing a natural one somewhere around late June), buckled the belt, and went into the living room.

“Ho, ho, ho! ‘Tis I, Santa Claus, or, err, Nikolaus, Mikołaj, Ded Moroz and probably many more, depending on your cultural upbringing! I shall give off the gifts and or beating accordingly!” She exclaimed as soon as she entered. Kristoff hid his face in his hands, Rapunzel choked on her fist trying not to laugh, Ryder did laugh, and Elsa stood up, looking at her lovingly.

Elsa pointed at the chair near the Christmas Tree. “You must be tired after such a long trip, come sit down.” And guided Anna by hand. As soon as Anna sat down, she sat on her lap. Figures. Kristoff groaned, at which Anna hugged Elsa’s waist. “What would such a good girl want for Christmas this year?” She whispered, purposefully loudly, into Elsa’s ear, who shuddered a bit.

Ryder got up from the couch. “It’s literally Christmas, you idiots! Just give her her damn gift from behind you and let’s please move on.”

Anna shot him a look. “Wow, rude. I guess we all know who’s getting coal this year.” 

“Actually not a bad idea given the rising housing crisis and prices of everything, and this surprisingly cold winter.” Kristoff decided to chime in, very helpfully.

“Okay, okay” Rapunzel also butted in. “let’s just get this over with because at this rate Christmas will be over before the first gift is opened.”

Anna pouted, but Elsa seemed to agree, and so she reached for the first gift. 

She winced as she saw someone give Kristoff a deodorant. Not that she really disagreed with the sentiment per se, but you know, time and place? He also got a… “Best jokes 2023” and from Elsa and Anna some polish vodka he claimed to love. 

The rest of the gifts were also unimpressive, and the group returned to regular teasing and chatting. Anna was feeling too hot in her costume, but Elsa firmly refused to move her equally firm butt from her lap. It was a fair trade, if you ask her.

After a while of pretending to be happy with the crappy gifts, and being genuinely happy with the fact that their friends cared enough to give them some, they all decided to play spin the bottle, with an additional rule of one round of rock paper scissors to decide which of the sisters was chosen.

After Kristoff has dared Ryder to kiss him (“He’s your boyfriend you coward!”), Rapunzel told everyone that Elsa was her gay awakening (Anna could only nod in understanding) and Kristoff yodeled out of the window, fate had apparently chosen Elsa.

“Truth or dare?” Kristoff asked.

Elsa considered for a second. “Well I’m too comfy here to move” She slapped Anna’s thighs lightly. “so whatever, truth.”

Kristoff lit up as if he was hoping for that outcome. He smirked and took a deep breath. Everyone was watching him in anticipation. Finally, he spoke. “Do you have a crush on Anna?”

The room was silent. Anna blinked. Elsa didn’t move. Rapunzel was patting Ryder’s back, who was looking dumbfounded at Kristoff. “You are so lucky you are good in bed babe.” He said.

Kristoff just looked bad at him. “What? You can’t tell me you aren’t curious!”

Elsa cleared her throat. Everyone looked at her. She turned her head and kissed Anna. Anna kissed back. What followed was an uncomfortably long session of sloppy making out, and Anna loved every second.

After what felt like about two minutes, Ryder cleared his throat. Another minute followed (judging by the sounds, Rapunzel was now eating popcorn). After another, Ryder spoke. “Guys, I think you made your point. You can stop now.” Anna showed him her middle finger. Ryder sighed and she heard him tapping on the screen and tell Kristoff to close his mouth already.

Finally (too soon) they parted, and took a look around the room. Rapunzel was finishing a bowl of popcorn, Ryder was scrolling tiktok, and Kristoff, mouth now closed, was just looking at them utterly flabbergasted. Anna felt her cheeks burn a little.

After a moment of silence, Kristoff finally seemed to get over his shock. “How long?” He asked.

Elsa shrugged. “Hard to say, because we were always… you know, mostly like that? Which I guess is why you didn’t notice. We didn’t notice when jokes and teasing became genuine flirting ourselves for a while.”

Anna shifted a little, and put her chin on Elsa’s shoulder. “But our first serious kiss was like 2 years ago. And we first had sex-”

“I think that’s enough, Anna.” Elsa rudely interrupted her.

“Why didn’t you tell me? Why did they” He pointed at Ryder and Rapunzel, watching the conversation. “know, and I didn’t?”

“That’d be because you’re a moron.” Ryder chimed in, and Kristoff threw a pillow at him. He looked hurt.

Elsa finally got up, and she and Anna sat down on the floor next to Kristoff. “Well, at first we didn’t really know what’s happening.” Anna started. “Is it just a crush? Are we fucked in the head? Will it destroy us? When did it all change? So we didn’t really know what to tell you. ‘Hey Kristoff, I banged Elsa yesterday!’? Then our parents found out and kicked us out and telling anyone was the last thing on our minds, with you know, figuring out how to have a roof over our heads thing. We had to sleep at your place for a month, and we were terrified you’d kick us out too if you knew.” She shuddered a bit, and Elsa continued for her.

“Then when we settled we honestly thought either Rapunzel or Ryder told you, because you didn’t seem at all shocked at our progressive… closeness.” She added diplomatically.

“Well, how did they find out for sure?” He asked.

“I got to know them after we got together, so there was no ‘ah that’s just Elsa and Anna they were always weird like that’, and so after like, two days of hanging out I asked them.” Ryder responded. “They said yes, I said cool, we went home. I was sure you had to know.”

Kristoff nodded. “And you?” He asked Rapunzel, who blushed. “Well, it’s kinda… embarrassing. But I guess I’m over it enough to share.” She took a deep breath, and Elsa looked at her softly. “I had a massive crush on Elsa and asked her out. She said she was taken. I put two and two together, and confronted them after a week of gaslighting myself. They confirmed it, I cried for a month, we hugged it out, all is well in the world now.”

Kristoff took a moment to collect himself. Anna was scared. While they lucked out with two friends, incest is a big deal actually (which Elsa had to remind her every two days), and there was no guarantee Kristoff would be as accepting as the others. Elsa must have noticed her anxiety, because she moved closer, and hugged her side. She leaned into it, and waited.

Kristoff didn’t address them. He looked at Ryder and Rapunzel “And you’re both okay with it?”

They shrugged. “Well, my homosexual gay boyfriend, love is love, isn’t it?” Ryder said. 

“I’ve known them their whole lives, as did you, and I took a long time to try and analyze every memory of them I could, and I just… couldn’t really remember anything alarming. And they are happier now than they’ve ever been.” Rapunzel added, and Elsa and Anna both nodded.

Kristoff sighed, no, he sighed, for a full 20 seconds, before turning back to sisters. Girlfriends. Sister girlfriends. Whatever.

“I guess I’m happy for you.” He finally said. They both relaxed. “But, uh, how did your parents find out?”

Anna straightened her back. “Oh, they walked in on me eating Elsa ou-”

She got smacked, Kristoff choked, Ryder laughed, and Rapunzel snorted. Life was good.

w nocy budziłam się kilkukrotnie, głównie przez bardzo mocne wichury. byłam bardzo zmarznięta i miałam problem aby znowu zasnąć z tego powodu xD

wzięłam większość książek na dziś, gdzie nie mieliśmy ani jednej lekcji. pierw jasełka, potem oglądaliśmy grincha na angielskim a na polskim buntownika z wyboru. przyszedł czas na klasową wigilię. jako że moja wychowawczyni uczy w-f to mieliśmy ją w sali do fitnessu. trochę triggerujące doświadczenie. Ściany tam są bowiem Z LUSTER. zauważyłam w sumie że moje nóżki wyglądają nawet skinny i lekko mi się humorek poprawił. w każdym razie zamiast na krzesłach siedzieliśmy na piłkach do krzeseł a stołem były stoły do bilarda. wpisałam sobie do yazio 3 pierogi ale nie dałam rady podejść tam i sobie wziąć. wypiłam kubek barszczu, na stole były słodycze ale też nic nie zjadłam. centralnie pod nosem stały mi pierniki w czekoladzie... jedna dziewczyna upiekła piękne babeczki, udekorowane w świąteczne wzorki jak jakieś choinki i mikołaje oraz bardzo wilgotne. w sumie są trzy powody przez które nie jadłam — po pierwsze oczywiste kalorie, po drugie wstydzę się jeść przy ludziach, szczególnie ze szkoły, a po trzecie czuję się, jakby to jedzenie nie było dla mnie?? mimo że mam zapłacone wszystkie składki klasowe, to w sumie nie udzielam się prawie w niczym, z nikim praktycznie się nie odzywam i to uczucie wykluczenia było bardzo bardzo silne. wyszłam po dwudziestu minutach, a w domu od wejścia bardzo wkurwiłam się na mojego brata. po zjedzeniu zupy zaczęłam podjadać wafle, dużo wafli, wafle z dżemem, potem suchy chleb i crossainta, dlatego tyle kalorii. na kolację wsunęłam jeszcze skyr bo same węglowodany to tak nieładnie, postanowienie noworoczne to jeść chociaż ten 1g na kg masy ciała xd bo u mnie z nim żałośnie.

moje wzdęcia przybrały już taką formę że boli mnie brzuch i mam ochotę zwymiotować momentami. nie powstrzymało mnie to przed dłuższym treningiem. zamiast pilatesu na brzuch dodałam sobie jogę na właśnie problemy z jelitami, na końcu był krótki masaż brzucha i na moment poczułam taką ulgę... na moment, teraz znowu czuję się ciężko i mi nie dobrze 🤢

Bump Up Business - a Polish romcom?

The white poster is an interesting phenomenon in Polish cinema, because it's a tell-tale sign that the romcom it advertises is, well... bad. The Bump Up Business poster may be white, but if it avoids these 10 things that happened in bad Polish romcoms, it's far superior to them in quality. Dedicated to @sapphonoticeme who was keen to learn about the art of a bad Polish romcom.

1. The main character watches as their partner cheats on them in a public place, i.e. their car or a glass elevator in a glass building. Bonus point if it's on the day of their wedding.

2. The huge city the plot takes place in is actually really small, with only one coffee shop, one restaurant, one nightclub, one hotel, and the characters bump into each other all the fucking time.

3. The huge city the plot takes place is can only be Warsaw or Cracow, people from other cities don't fall in love. If a character isn't from these two cities, they're from the countryside.

4. The main character and their one true love bump into each other in a literal sense, often involving a car, and the more random the situation, the better. Nobody ever gets seriously hurt, unless you consider falling in love at first sight a sign of internal damage.

5. The plot is just a series of coincidences: characters meeting, characters talking, characters fighting, there's little to no motive and decision making that goes into it. Consistent characterization is a foreign concept, there're just plot points that need to happen.

6. There must be a really obvious ad moment that's completely divorced from the plot, i.e. drawing the audience's attention to a brand of sausage by having the characters throw it into a salad and proceed to talk about it. Berlinki.

7. If there's a foreign character, they speak perfect Polish unless it's a word like yes or thank you, which they keep forgetting. Additionally, Polish characters who are supposed to be "modern" and "cool" will throw in random English words, sometimes translating them right away. Ja to jednak umiem z każdej porażki wykręcić success.

8. Old people and kids are the wisest people on earth. The only wise ones, actually. Adults are all dumb.

9. The characters watch a nostalgic montage of their romantic moments taken from the actual movie, filmed by the camera crew, not any in-universe characters.

10. Nobody stays single until the end. Bonus point if all the characters get married at the same time in the finale.

Attention keeps me alive and I love receiving asks heyhey hey you should send me asks I need enrichment in my enclosure haha..... That being said I'm usually bad at articulating myself and prone to get overexcited/anxious when I try to respond, so I may take way longer to answer. They had to nerf me somehow. Non-fandom specific, we really like violent whump (not the fever type. the, uh... other one) or just terrible things happening to fictional characters. Wanting them crying, terrified and in pain is an expression of adoration from us <3 though we're too shy to post/reblog any of that sort of stuff for now since not many people are as into it. Oh yeah and also cat genetics, these are cool.
