James Gunn replies to a fan asking about Bucky's arm in the GOTG Holiday Special, and claims that Nebula (herself a disabled character with artificial limbs) "took a trip to Earth and tore it [Bucky's artificial limb] off his body because she was feeling Christmassy."

This is truly horrible.

Not only is it graphic violence toward a disabled character for no reason at all, it also shows that this whole bit was pure Abelism from the start.

From writer's room to your screens, Ableist jokes for the sake of laughing at disabled people.

As fans it is up to us to say No, we don't accept this. We won't accept this.

Disabled characters and disabled fans deserve better.

Re-entering my Stucky hyperfixation full force after rewatching Endgame for the first time in years

I’m still not over the fact that Bucky - despite his selfish behaviour and despite ignoring Sam’s texts for, probably, months, and despite inviting himself on a mission just to be annoying and cause problems - has never had any actual doubts about Sam’s role as Captain America.

His actions and arguments might have been wrong, but from the very beginning he didn’t voice a single complaint regarding Sam’s new title - and, what is more, most of his mistakes came from defending the mantle being taken by Sam a bit too hard. A typical example of having your heart in the right place and manifesting it in the worst way possible.

Which is funny to me, because if there was a single person, who would have any right to voice an opinion (including a negative one) about Steve’s choice of a successor that would probably be Bucky. And yet... even though he already had a somewhat tense relationship with Sam, he was always supportive of him - albeit in a slightly misguided way.

And finally... I really like how with Sambucky you can see a very similar thing happening on both sides... 1) “Sam, do you have a problem with Bucky, because he was the Winter Soldier?” / “No! Not at all. He was a victim in that situation, I don’t blame him for anything that Hydra made him do. ...He’s just really fucking annoying, you know?”; and 2) “Bucky, do you have a problem with Sam, because you don’t approve of him taking up the Captain America mantle?” / “The fuck you talking about? Sam Wilson is the only person alive who’s worthy of being the new Cap and you’re lucky to have him. I support him with my entire heart! ...But he’s also a little bitch and I have to remind him every once in a while.”

am i the only person getting really sick of the "haha let's take bucky's arm" jokes?? i'm terrible at tagging so like spoilers for gotg holiday thing or whatever, but okay i want to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe the arm nebula gives rocket is a replica, or maybe bucky gets a new arm and he's in on the joke, idk.. but it's stuff like this ⬇ where i'm just like..

is it funny? it is really?? because i don't think so, and it's pretty sick that you would think so. and there are so many other ppl on twitter sharing this same sentiment, that it would be so funny if nebula threatened or beat him up and took his arm. even bucky fans?? people who love him??? make it make sense please!

bucky being an art buff . bucky being a museum buff in * general * but LOVING art museums . never been sams thing . i mean , sure , he likes them okay , but he’s the type of person to look at a painting for a couple moments and say “ nice “ and move on ( unless there’s one that really catches his eye ) . but for whatever reason , there’s just something he loves about going with bucky and listening to bucky talk him to death about the significance of the most boring painting he’s ever seen
