Sonic is sitting on the floor beside the bed, frowning down at their kid’s birth certificate which lists him as the father.

“This is just… so convenient, isn’t it,” he almost spits out.

“Hedgehog, you should be in that document. Since I fathered them, it is only fair—”

“Yo, Shads, I was there when that baby was made,” he smirked at the scandalised look. “All three of us are going to raise them! Pretty sure that makes me their dad anyway.”

“Still… I want it to be you.”

“If he thought about his… that he would leave us…” Sonic puts the paper away not to crumple it and covers his face, teeth bared and voice now choking. “He couldn’t imagine a world without us, he said. How easy was it to imagine one without him, you think?..”

When it comes to doctor appointments, does Silver react like how a feral cat would at a vet, specially with shots? (I'm giggling at the thought of Silver wearing one of those pet cone collars you see in a vet)

I think every single alarm bell his body contains goes off the moment someone around him mentions he should go to a doctor. Eggman Nega has led to that term being all but tainted for Silver! And no amount of sweet-talking and logical reasoning are going to make him change his mind. So getting him to the doctor is already quite a hassle, getting him inside the building even more, taking him into the room is all but impossible, and that doctor kind of needs to fear for their life once Silver sets his eyes on them. Espio, Vector, and Sonic are needed in the room to pin Silv down on the bed so the doctor can do some basic things like give him a full body check! But I think the fact that none of those three seem particularly worried does tip Silver off that he might not be in that much danger here, and the doctor could show some basic procedures like measuring blood pressure and listening with a stethoscope on Sonic. Considering Sonic doesn't immediately drop dead and comes out of it all entirely fine, Silver at least is convinced to not immediately bite the doctor for getting into his personal space. But he hates every second of it, especially when they get to more invasive things like cleaning out his ears and eyes or drawing some blood. And the absolute hell he raises at getting shots (he later admits that he's been through much worse pain but it is the principle of things and it caught him by surprise) is remembered in the clinic for quite some time to come! In the end, Silver leaves with every single word of warning in bright red plastered all over his healthcare record, he is crabby for hours afterwards, and Sonic, Espio, and Vector are entirely spent. Subsequent visits go somewhat better, if they do less invasive procedures on him. But overall, Silver would not be sad if he never has to go to the doctor again!

Awhile ago I asked for sonamy headcanons (and I’m always hungry for more!) and I received the most beautiful headcanon from @hedgethemaze and I just had to illustrate it!

Sonic and Amy’s favorite nighttime pastime is stargazing 🌙​⭐​🌠​👀​

Amy enjoys making out constellations and discovering new figures drawn in the sky and would occasionally make up stories with them – She knows Sonic finds this a bit childish, but appreciates that he doesn’t let it show and listens to her stories, instead (even participating once in a while, throwing in some action to keep them from being too daydream-y lol).

Sometimes, looking at the stars would remind Sonic of Starfall Islands – of cyber space – of Amy being at arm's length yet, an entire plane of existence out of his reach. The thought makes him reach for her hand as they lay on their backs on the grass, with a whole new appreciation for the feel of her hand nestled in his - Amy, aware of the gnawing memory, would shift her hand and intertwine their fingers, successfully chasing the memory away.

And some other times, she’d say those stories are just bedtime-story-practice to tell their 'future' child/children, only to tease him because there’s nothing as amusing to her as watching Sonic go from cool blue to cherry red live in record time 😆

About stargazing - it occurred to me that it could be more than likely for Sonamy to catch sight of a shooting star.

Well, I imagine Sonic would notice Amy staring at the shooting star in silence, knowingly waiting for her to say something but then the star disappears from view and he'd say "huh... kinda thought you were gonna wish something for a sec,"

Amy, realizing what he means, would jump a little on her spot next to him, they'd still be holding hands, but she scooches over and rests her head on his shoulder.

"Oh! Well, actually," she rubs her cheek on his shoulder and her grip on his hand tightens "I have everything I could wish for already."

Sonic notes she's got her eyes closed, now more interested in the warmth their bodies are sharing amidst the nightly breeze. Sonic blushes, hoping in vane she doesn't notice his body getting warmer at her statement.

"What about you? Don't you have any wishes?" Amy is genuinely curious (she can feel his awkwardness, so she doesn't tease him 'this time').

Sonic looks away, the hand that's not being held by Amy scratches a very reddish cheek, taking a deep breath to cool himself, "Nah..." the shyness quickly evaporating from his voice and he braves returning her gesture by, ever so slightly, snuggling against the top of her head. Leaving Starfall in the past, to focus on the present, Sonic's already made up his mind. "I'm good, Ames."

Shadow pretends to hate hugs and cuddles when other people are around.

He absolutely doesn't, he will actively seek out Sonic for cuddles and warmth when the two are alone together.

LOL I like to imagine Shadow is very touch starved. He was only ever really physically affectionate with Maria and he doesn't really know how to go about expressing his fondness for anyone else. Thankfully, Sonic is pretty forward and is usually the initiator, so he can take a bit of a backseat and just reciprocate at his own pace.

I do think that once they get closer and their situationship evolves into Sonic crashing at his place all the time, Shadow would slowly start being more affectionate behind closed doors. No need to worry about someone seeing him let his guard down! He will still get annoyed if Sonic teases him too much about being touchy-feely with him, but thankfully Sonic is at least tactful enough to know when to pump the brakes with his teasing. He doesn't want to scare Shadow off, after all!

If he's caught being snuggly with Sonic by anyone else, though, he will immediately grab him by the arm and throw him as far as he can away from him LMFAO

...Sonic doesn't mind. He thinks it's fun. 😂

Unbreakable Bond Headcanons

• when Tails’ fur has grown out quite a bit, sonic will tie up his long fur to give him lil pigtails

• Tails really likes Owl City, and will frequently play the albums on the speakers in his lab while he’s tinkering around on his projects. He finds the songs very relaxing to him….But when a banger or a really good part of a song comes on, he turns up the speaker volume and it becomes a dancing musical number in his lab. If sonic is there, it a dance off against his older brother…he gets no work done afterwards

• tails will randomly decide to fly up to the nearest tree, cling onto one of the branches and cry out to sonic for help, who will rush over and help bring him down safely. Tails will be like “thank you! 😊” and go back to his day. Meanwhile sonic stops and pauses, suddenly realising his baby brother was plenty capable of getting down himself in the first place

• Tails uses Scratch (it’s a fun, goofy lil coding program) to make silly little games for Cream or Charmy to play when he visits them. Sometimes he’ll teach his friends how to do a simple code on it.

• Often at times he will catch Sonic playing his scratch games. He’ll go into his brother’s room, and find the hedgehog sitting on his bed, face glued to the screen on his phone, his quills raised in deep concentration. Who knew his brother was so keen on trying to set the record for catching the most falling tacos?

• Sonic will look up to find his little brother leaning on the door frame. “Isn’t it a little too…I don’t know…childish, for you?” the fox teased, in which Sonic retorts in a backfiring of compliments and rambling on about what almost appears to be his newest addiction. Deep inside, Tails is overjoyed that his brother loves his work so much, despite its such simplicity.

• Sonic could look Tails dead in the eye, and still not catch a single word he said

Tails: …okay you copy that?

Sonic: …🙂 (imagine that small loading symbol over his head lol)

Tails: *sigh* so as I was saying…

• So in the Mario and Sonic Olympic Games (specifically the 2020 one) sonic does this victory emote in soccer when he scores a goal…I like to call it the Airplane..

Sonic heads outside about to go on another run, when he spots Tails running around doing the Airplane. Tails sees his brother and runs to meet him.

“Whatcha doin’ bud?” Sonic asks, ruffling his hand through the fur on the kit’s head

“I’m you!” He responds, explaining about his victory moves he did in the Olympics.

“You’re so cool..” Tails looks up at his older brother, his big baby blue eyes sparkling in admiration of his favourite person.

It took everything in Sonic’s being not to break down sobbing after those words.

Then Tails grabs Sonic’s hand, begging him to do the airplane with him.

Why go run anywhere else when you can run around in circles, being silly with your greatest admirer, supporter, fan…brother

Ok I know I've seen some people say the sonadow dynamic in prime is "recently broken up" (compared to boom's "broken up a while ago" lol) but personally I think in prime they're in the pre-relationship instense flirting stage. Except Shadow doesn't even realise he likes Sonic. He's like "yeah I can't turn down Sonic's challenge, I can't not enjoy fighting him and showing off in front of him. What do you mean I like him. No I don't." Meanwhile Sonic is flirting very much on purpose but he won't outright SAY he is in case Shadow doesn't feel the same way. Also they're both sorta aroace so "intense flirting" means beating each other up and teasing.

When researching about hedgehogs, I found out that some owners tend to give catnip to hedgehogs, which is safe as long as they don't eat it. Do you think Silver would be affected by Catnip?

I think Silver would definitely be affected by the smell, though I don't think it'd be harmful for him if he ate it (since anthros do not seem to share any allergies with their real-life non-anthro counterparts). Though, I do figure Silver might be embarrassed by people teasing him about how he's gonna go completely bonkers if he gets close to the catnip. And thus he grumpily and vehemently denies anyone putting it in his vicinity.... until he is alone. Then his curiosity becomes too much to handle, and he gives it a very careful inspection and promptly goes nuts, haha! He might be flustered once he leaves his catnip high again and he realises that people might have seen him, but luckily everyone knows better than to comment about it, since it'll mean Silver will never go near it again. But he's definitely affected and it does make him all silly and hyper for a bit, I like to think!

So I've been thinking about the aftermath of the main story in my Scrapnik Sonic au. Mostly in regards to Tails and how much of a mess he's going to be.

I dont really have the details hammered out but once its confirmed/revealed to him that Scrapnik Sonic is indeed the real Sonic? Its going to fucking tear him apart. Hes going to especially feel guilty knowing that he attacked him. I mean sure, he didn't recognize him as Sonic at the time, but he still attacked him! And all because he couldn't control his temper...

Then there's all the what ifs.

If he had just looked a little harder would he have found Sonic that day? What if he had broken Sonic beyond repair when he attacked him? What if Sonic secretly hates him now? And probably more I can't think of right now.

It's going to be very tense and awkward between them for a while...

Speaking of awkward, how the hell are they gonna break it to the world that Sonic is technically alive?? That he just got turned into a robot? It doesn't help that the whole world thinks hes dead...

Also thinking about how tf Shadow is gonna react to this development. Fuuuuck. I havent even started thinking about it but I just know its gonna be so fucking complicated. ;-;

I watched all the Sonic Prime episodes in one day LMAO I LOVE IT SO MUCH

Anyways,

PROLOGUE HCS

As most hcs with this mf starts, it took forever for him to finally trust you, let alone get into a relationship with you

I mean, can you blame him really? He's lost a lot, he's gone through a ton of shit, it's kinda to be expected

He talked to Rouge one day about how he felt more comfortable around you than others and she teased him relentlessly

"Shadoooow, you like them?"

"I prefer them over others, if that answers your question. Why are you making that face?"

Lowkey funny thing, when it finally hits him that he liked you he tries to figure out why he likes you.

At first he thinks maybe it's your looks so he stares at you a lot trying to pinpoint what part of you he likes, but he's got a rbf so it concerns you gravely

"Shadow are you angry at Y/n?"

"No, of course not. Why?"

"You're kinda... glaring... at them..."

"Oh."

Then he theorizes that it must be something from your personality. So he starts asking you a ton of questions randomly, but like, theoretical questions

'What would you do if two of your best friends were drowning and you only had enough strength to save one?' Type questions y'know

Then he tries to see if it's something you do, like if you're 'useful'. So he keeps a mental tally of how many times you do something for him or others. When you pay for yours and Amy's lunch, when you give Sonic the rest of your bag of chips, when you hold the door open for Rogue, etc.

Finally he realizes that it's not something in particular, he just likes you

He reveals this revelation to Rouge and she snorts lmao

She sets up a whole date-confession-thing without either of your knowledge to get Shadow to confess

REAL TIME HCS

He's very quiet with his affection

He'll pat you on the head or back, give you a small smile, make you lunch, help you with some work, small things y'know

If you're a human and a lot taller than him he uses this to his advantage and climbs you so he can see more

^Some of the few times he will allow you to carry him

He'll text you updates about what he's doing and when he'll be home and expects you do the same

If you forget he'll scold you like a toddler lmao

Don't forget the skin-care routine and ironing the sheets every night according to the Twitter takeover LMAO (it should have been me)

He's not one for going out on dates but he does enjoy going to the library or the park with you, somewhere quiet with not a lot of people

Shadow would enjoy theatre all the way (I don't say this cuz I'm a theatre kid nope def not)

Also not a fan of PDA but he'll hold your hand or have a hand on your shoulder

He gets jealous easily lol

Like if someone starts talking or, God forbid, flirting with you he'll be standing right behind you glaring at them

His pet names are demeaning LMAO

Like how he calls Sonic 'hedgehog' it's the same for you

He'll call you more typical terms of endearment if it's laced with sarcasm

"Well, dear, if you had done like I said earlier this wouldn't have happened."

"I'm sorry, I should've known making toast was too difficult for you, darling."

Shadow has a phone and social media and the only reason is so you can send him memes you find funny to him

I like to imagine showing him a funny video and he just sits there staring at it for a bit before turning to you and going "This is hilarious."

If you're in college or work from home he'll help you with some of your work

Okay but imagine he's standing behind you helping you with homework and he leans over to grab a pencil or something and then you're pressed between him and the desk JAGFHEBAUWVDHJ– ANYWAYS

He likes keeping his space clean so if you're mentally ill like me (LMAOOO) or just messy in general he's willing to help you clean up

Just enough to keep him satisfied :)

Okay but imagine stay-at-home dates with him like:

Cooking dinner together

Laying your head on his lap while you two watch a movie

Playing games or doing puzzles

Speaking of games, game nights are a regular thing with the group and Rogue drags Shadow along so in turn he drags you along

I ask you to imagine a huge game of Uno between Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, Cream, Big, Team Chaotix, Rogue, Shadow, and you.

Yeah, fucking insanity.

If there's any game where you have to pair up Shadow immediately grabs you

Absolutely NO chance he's pairing with Sonic lol

Moving on, he likes playing with your hair

If you need help doing a complex or a protective hairstyle he's got you fr

If you wear makeup, whether it's natural or more bold, he will compliment it

He'd probably help you with your makeup too if you asked lol

On a more sad note, he has times where he gets upset about his past so just give him space or comfort, whatever he needs at the time

If he gets upset about Maria ask him about her. It helps talking about her in a positive light when she was alive than replaying her death on repeat

So if you have your own bouts of depression (*cough cough* me *cough*) he'll understand and try to help in any way he can

On a more happier note, he likes getting you gifts

Homie is a very gift giving/ acts of service type of lover fr fr

Btw dating Shadow means being friends with Rogue and Omega, no exceptions
