it’s not necessarily that I hate the themes most prevalent in fiction set in the real world and it’s not necessarily that I don’t like stories revolving around real people or relationship drama or interpersonal issues it’s more like im a dog who doesn’t recognize that a pill is still a pill if it has peanut butter on it. I need like the little peanut butter spoonful that is aliens or robots or monsters or time travel or something fantastical and not at all down to earth real life so that you can approach me and be like “this story is about how friendships can deteriorate over time and also how this guy feels bad for being a bad friend and causing his buddy problems with their girlfriend” and then look at me making a face at you and be like “AND! they’re all aliens who are doing all that across spacetime” and I’ll be like OHHHHHH OKAY YAY (shlop shlap shlup the sound of a dog horking down peanut butter pills) wow what a poignant story

#kipspeak #I tend to gravitate away from things that are that close to real life for reasons im still sussing out. Feels like work? Feels too direct?#Maybe it’s just not fun? But you could tell the EXACT SAME story just with magic sword knights and I’ll be like YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY #I dunno. I feel like that’s slightly shallow of me but I also feel like I don’t care and it’s my house and I can think stories set on norma #Earth with nothing else different are boring #It’s like when they’re real life like that #Every theme they try to get across comes and sits in my house and goes Hey. I’m telling you about YOU and THE WORLD.#And im like ugh. Okay. Whereas magic sword knights do that and im like omg…. They’re telling us about You and The World. That’s crazy……#It is also maybe a little bit that I don’t like interpersonal drama as the driving focus of a story #They should go to space about it #otherwise im in class and I need to adopt an entirely different mindset to be able to have fun with what you just gave me #man these guys aren’t even furries. Lame dude……

Danny: Woah there, little lady, there is no need for that kind of language. Call him a fruitloop.

Dani: I'm sorry! It's just that Damian Wayne grinds my gears like no other. He totally stole my idea for the art contest!

Danny: Weren't you drawing Batman? That's like a really common theme-

Dani: I was drawing Batman being a protect spirit! Everyone else always paints him as a moster wating in the shadows, but I knew he's a kind soul! I painted him holding a laughing baby while smiling at it as his cape blocked snow from hitting them both! It took me hours!

Danny: What did he draw?

Dani: Batman holding a baby, lifting it up over his head and smiling at it. Keeping the laughing infant away from the flood. He titled it "Father's duty to protect a smile"

Danny: It sounds like you two are two peas in a pod-

Dani smacking her fist into her palm: I'll destroy him.

Danny: Okay that's a option too.

Meanwhile at Wayne Manor

Damian: She's got the prettiest blue eyes, sharpest of smiles and her art skill are out of this world. We even painted the same idea for the art contest. She's perfect Father, she's practically my soul mate!

Bruce: I don't know Damian. I saw the look on that girl's face. It's not the kind of look someone who is into you makes.

Damian: You just don't understand love. That's why your single despite having the ability to attract someone of my mother's caliber.

still the funniest plot point in all of pmmm that Homura Akemi is a 14 year old magical girl who realized that her sparkly transformation sequence did not come with a cutesy custom weapon like everyone else's so she just went online and googled "how to build a bomb"

#and so now everyone else is fighting with bespoke magical thematically-and-aesthetically significant #swords and spears and elegant floral bows that shoot magic light arrows #and Homura is standing right next to them and pulls out a very real and non-magical glock. that she stole with time magic #madoka magica

i think we'd do a lot better in collectively understanding privilege if we stopped thinking about it as some evil aura people have and start thinking about it as a resource that those of a privileged class or those who are accepted by that privileged class can gain access to by performing acts that reinforce the strength of that privilege i.e. bigotry

#the whole 'do trans men magically get privilege???' comments bug me #cuz like.. yeah when affirm the supremacy of men you gain access to privilages of patriarchy #it's not about magically becoming The Evil Thing #you have access to a resource but to get that resource you must act in violence to uphold your privilege #real revolutionary action will always make the privileged lose something #they lose those benefits because they have to stop acting in the interest of their privileged class #and that's a Good Thing #when we say someone has privilege it means you have access it doesn't mean you go around with the privilege sword murdering people every day

I wanted zoro on whole cake island because I think he's stupid enough to right place wrong time the plan and accidentally marry Sanji in full view of the whole wedding party in what becomes the most elaborately constructed comedy of errors ever written. we are NOT the same.
