i've lived with anxiety and depression for so long that sometimes it shocks me that that's not how normal people feel all the time. the other day i was talking to my friend about normal anxiety stuff, like being afraid to leave the house, to live, to be unable to keep a job and she said "yeah, but that's the disease" and it shocked me because i hadn't considered that, to me it was just how life was supposed to feel and the reason why i wanted to die.

but besides shocking me, it also comforts me, because diseases have a cure, and when it doesn't it usually gets better, the symptoms get better, it's not paralyzing forever. i will get better.
