INTRODUCTION POST:
Hey Homie, I’m Perry!!✨
[They/She]
I’m a self taught, and still learning, character animator that focuses on the Hermitcraft and Life Series! I use Tumblr as a looser creative outlet than YouTube!💖
{FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:}
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
✨What programs do you use? Procreate Dreams for all animation and movement. CapCut is used for editing the clips I want to animate together. Lastly, Procreate is used for regular art and making my thumbnails.
✨What brushes do you use? I typically use the 6B Pencil brush for line art and sketching, but I use any of the crayon like brushes for texture!
✨Do you have commissions? I currently am not doing commissions, but I will have them open someday!
✨Are your drawing requests open? Always, but it doesn’t mean I will get to yours! “:D I have over 100 requests in my inbox so I just pick from it when I want to draw!
✨Do you have a persona reference? Yeah! It’s here! :D
✨Can I use your art for ___? Yeah homie! You can use my art for whatever you want! Just make sure you give credit! :D But I draw the line at my animations. You can use them in edits—but that’s it, please no Gacha Reacts or compilations! ❤️
✨Are you okay with me using your designs? YEAAAAHHH!!! Of course!! Just make sure to @ me because YES I WANNA SEE IT(and credit would be nice ig 😒) BUT, I LOVE THAT SO MUCH, DUDE!
✨Are you neurodivergent? Im diagnosed with the silly! ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) among other multimorbidities. [Although it’s not neurological, I also have EDS and PoTS.]
✨Are you open to collaborating? YESS GOSH YES!!! I love working with others! Ask me and I’ll see if I can do it!!! :D DONT BE SHY HOMIE!!
✨Favorite hermit/lifer? SKIZZLEMAN!!1!1!11!
✨Can we be friends? No.
⚠️I do have silly shipping content on here, but obviously never anything explicit or the real creators.⚠️
Hello, what device do you use for drawing?I'm planning to buy an ipad for drawing but unsure what to buy what would you recommend?
Thank you!
(No pressure to answer)
Hi! I'm currently using an iPad Air, mainly for doodling or smaller drawings. I find it's more convenient than a regular graphic tablet because you can take it anywhere with you. It's nice to be able to draw at a moment’s notice.
As for the drawing software, I use Procreate. I tried experimenting with Clip Studio Paint too, but it's not well optimized for touchscreen (in my opinion). Procreate is great, and only $12.99 for a lifetime license.
I've used classic Wacom tablets for years. I would say the biggest advantage is not in the device itself, but the fact you have a wider selection of graphic software on PC. If you're thinking about animating big projects or creating huge drawings for printing, a PC+tablet combo would of course be the better choice, if only for the final editing. And yes, there's Procreate Dreams, FlipaClip, and other stuff for iPad... but still, it's a small device with limited resources, so unless you can spare thousands of $ for top-end iPad Pro I would stick to a Wacom tablet (or an alternative). The only real drawback is that you can only draw at your PC station.
If you're just staring your adventure with digital art, I would recommend *cough* borrowing a tablet from a friend lol 👍 if that's not possible... then a second-hand iPad Air is more than enough.
got bored and started to animate my drow Orpheus spinning like she’s gonna do a sailor moon transformation. Can’t wait for procreate dreams to come out but this is like a regular wip in procreate. It is a bit choppy but I think I have a decent foundation down. Also yes there’s a big pink line in it and that’s okay will clean it up later.
From the Bottom of My Heart
In real life, I am deeply sentimental and believe everything and everyone has a purpose and a reason for being. I’m known to write very long letters because I just want to make sure I don’t leave anything unsaid. Here goes...
My fiancé bought Red Dead Redemption II for me for our first Christmas together in 2018. My grandad, who loved cowboys had just passed away a month earlier. I didn’t get to actually play the game until March, but I kept thinking about how much I wished my grandad and mom, who also loved westerns, was there to see it. Neither of them were huge fans of video games, but I think we could’ve bonded over this one. They for sure would have laughed at my love for RD now because I was never interested in the various cowboy shows they’d have playing super loud all day long: Bonanza, The Rifleman, Cheyanne, and Gunsmoke.
I often think about how the game forces you on after the death of everybody especially: Sean, Hosea, Lenny, and Arthur. No chance to stop and catch your breath. I felt similarly after losing my mom and then my grandfather 4 years later. They, and invariably, the loss of them, are part of the reason I feel so strongly towards this game and towards this community. They were my two best friends, the people always in my corner, and I will always always feel their loss, especially this time of year.
That being said, my heart is so full. This is now the 7th Christmas I’ve spent with my lovely lovely husband to be. It's funny; he pretends to (or maybe not so much) get annoyed at my love for Arthur, but he started it all.
To you, this wonderful community, thank you for helping me find passion again. Creating is what I love to do the most, whether I'm writing, crafting, making silly edits on canva, or drawing up things on procreate. I’ve been writing since learning cvc words. I remember sitting at the kitchen table with a box of crayons and pain paper, making picture books about adventures I'd go on. In middle school, started writing cringe fan fiction about some guys in rock band in , then “matured” to writing and speech competitions in high school. I stopped creatively writing for a long time, and while I’ve been successful with academic writing: placing in competitions, publishing in academic journals, and being published in a book. (Not so humble brag, sorry lol) I did not/ have not gotten as much enjoyment out of that as writing fan fiction and my own original fiction. My biggest dream has always been to publish a novel one day, to tell an amazing story and have it touch people in some way. I've started playing around with my own original fiction ideas again, and it's been so much fun. I look forward to where that goes, even if it just stays on my hard drive.
Thank you, to each and every single one of you, for touching my heart in the way you have. This community is so beautiful, one of the best I’ve ever been apart of, and I hope you feel the love. Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Happy December 25 if it’s just a regular day for you. As my mom used to say, I love you to the moon and back.
With lots and lots of love,
Zae
Hi.
I hope you have a great day! Love you art! In which program do you draw and animate?
Hey! Thanks!
Actually, I used multiple programs for my animatics since I’m still figuring out the most convenient way to work with them. So sorry for the ton of text :D
With multiple projects I used Clip Studio Paint EX that has animation option and just added the song in the program itself and just added the drawings as I went. For example, I used it here (don’t mind the art, it’s pretty old at this point and it was one of my first ones). The program is available for PC. I’d say it might be a bit scary at first but if you used Photoshop or CSP for drawing you’ll get the grasp really easily. It also allows you to do stuff with 2D camera if you want to add some extra movement.
I also tried to use Toonsquid which is an app for IPad. It’s pretty easy and intuitive to understand, has some ok brushes, allows you to put the audio there and allows to do key frames and use 2D camera. I did this animatic in it. Pretty nice app, the only drawback of it imo is that isn’t as convenient and comfy to draw in as procreate or CSP but it honestly worth trying it you’re on iPad.
For the TGCF animatic I’m making at I’m currently using Procreate. Just the regular one, not Dreams because Dreams couldn’t add a lasso tool for more than a year since its release xD
It’s the first time I’m trying doing an animatic there so we’ll see how it goes but I’m happy with it so far. I just use Animation Assist option to draw the frames, it allows using onion skin and it’s kinda convenient because you can use all the brushes you are used to and flip through the frames conveniently. So it’s very much as a flipbook. It doesn’t allow to put the sound there so I think I’ll be using another program to time the sketches to the music. Right now since the animatic is a work in progress I just record the screen of my iPad as I flip through the frames to music to see if it goes well with the flow of the song.
When all the frames are ready I’ll time them to the music in Procreate Dreams (if I feel like I’m up to a challenge to try it again), in CSP or in Toonsquid, not sure which one yet but there isn’t a big difference.
cw: space odyssey au. inspired by the game haven! a little hurt/comfort a/n: probably will be part of a series if i ever get the time to write it lmaoooo
it's 2am and you can't sleep.
at least it would be midnight if you were still on regular soil, governed by your usual suns. you'd like to think you should continue to manage the flow of time with the numbers of your digital clock, but you'll land at your new forever home just hours from now, and who knows what waking and resting hours will be then.
the whirring of the ship is easier to hear at this time, although your friend insisted that this was a particularly fancy vessel the six of you manage to steal, nearly silent compared to similar vehicles of its size. it can accommodate many more than just six, perhaps a dozen people really, especially since you've paired off and share single rooms for the purposes of closeness (really lovemaking), however the extra rooms have been repurposed into many other things, including a small laboratory, a library, and a greenhouse, and a room just for tinkering on the engineers' in your party's request. you wonder if instead of sitting in the kitchen, looking forlorn in front of a bowl of reconstituted milk and dry cereal, you should instead check on the plants and the small temperature-controlled aquarium, that way you can keep your mind off things.
you don't think you regret your decision, but you are concerned for the future.
you pass the last room down the hallway, blocking out the muffled giggling coming from bakugou and his partner's room. they had not hesitated to formulate this plan to leave the second the Matching ceremony was over. if anything, they were the strongest believers in this plan. shoto and his love had been slightly more reluctant and particularly keen on asking about the details. after all, you're not sure this planet you are escaping to even exists. you are not sure what you'll find there, and you definitely are not sure you will live in bliss forever. but they have decided to let love guide them to a future where they are free to love whom- and however.
you want to be so sure, and you are sure that you love the man who is still asleep in your bed, but the what ifs continue to disturb your peace.
man cannot subsist on love alone, you've been taught since you were very young. That's why society has left the complicated matter of sex and love and procreation and family to the algorithms set by Credo. Credo is always right. Credo knows best.
so why hasn't Credo stopped you from falling in love? why were you assigned to someone you could not even dream of loving half as much as you do Izuku?
you can't eat love, you tell yourself. and yet, as you gently trace the leaves of the small potted pepper plants that greet you first in the hot humid greenhouse, you remember the way he looked at you with joy when you came to the dock in the middle of the night just weeks ago, panting and overburdened by overpacked bags, professing your will to reject your way of life, and you are full to bursting.
perhaps if your ship crashes you won't have to ever regret your decision, you think, pleased by your own dark joke. the smile quickly turns into a laugh, and then you are crying.
you've left your family behind, even if you will be surrounded by your friends and the love of your life.
you are a fool and so is everyone on this ship hurtling towards an uncharted planet.
even though you cannot subsist on love alone, love wakes to find you, sees you in tears on your knees in the dark of the night and crouches down behind you and holds you close.
love whispers into your ear that you'll be fine and wipes away your tears.
love thanks you for having the strength to follow your heart and promises to keep you safe to the best of their ability.
you turn and accept the consolation in his kisses but say nothing and he understands. you need proof that you'll make a safe landing, and proof that you have made the right choice to leave everything behind.
love carries you back to bed and holds you close until whatever awaits you in the morning comes.
Figuring out a work around in procreate dreams feels like I’m playing 4D chess with this app
So! Lack of good fill bucket tool, alpha lock, and reference in Dreams is unfortunate
But I figured out that if you press on the title of your project while in the project (ex. Mine says Dream 2) and here you get your settings and the option for quick export. You’ll want to export the frames as images and save it into your files app. Here you can see all of the transparent PNG of your frames. And once I get those dragged into procreate I do my regular process of coloring. Make sure your procreate and Dreams pixel dimension canvas are the same this will be important for later. And for each frame gets its own layer as page assist.
And make sure it’s in pixels this will allow a higher layer quantity size for the file your doing the coloring in
Once you do all of your coloring go to gallery in procreate and drag that file onto procreate dreams and it creates a new track as a group with all the frames you colored and the layers you did for those colors as separate layers as well!
And if the dimensions between the 2 canvases are the same there shouldn’t be any problem with sizing
