Like I’ve said multiple times, I almost never like the main characters in stories. I either just don’t really care about them or hate them. But there are those really rare ones that I don’t just like, but actually love. So, inspired by how incredible of a main character Maura Franklin is and how perfectly she was written and performed, and how I believe she would’ve been written and performed to the very end of whatever her journey was supposed to be, because I trust Bo and Jantje, I have to give a moment of silence and remembrance to other two lead female characters that I loved. They were so damn good, but they were terribly destroyed and butchered by the writers of the shows they carried and that is really fucking sad.

So, I’d like to pay my respects to Juliana Crain and Lucy Preston. You were amazing, I am so really sorry it didn’t end that way.

- A character that was described with “I got to know a woman who would bet on the best in us, who bet on people, no matter what the world said about who they were, who they should be..........You were the only chance any of us had.” All this referring to her humanity, to her hope in humanity in a world where such a thing barely existed. How she was the same in every alternate universe there was and how she always, no matter what world she lived in, fought for something better and never gave up on people. Guess what? All of this was burned in a dumpster fire that the writers set this show to become. She went full 180, started killing people at every step, forgot about everything she used to be. While before she was loyal to her boyfriend in spite of having feelings for another man, they made her hook up with everything male on two legs and then as a cherry on top, kill the man she loved, who saved her life multiple times before and she his. What happened to her in the final season, I don’t know, because that much of horseshit I could not take and never watched it (though, I have heard from people who did that Alexa did not even make an effort to act and that she was reduced to a side character, so thank you Alexa, you are the queen). But, in this show I loved to death, every single character was butchered, so I will forever cry about it all and never in a thousand lifetimes will I be over them.

- And then we have a woman who started insecure, doubting herself in everything she did in life, imagined herself always in her mother’s shadow. Slowly realizing she was wrong and starting to gain her confidence because she found herself in a situation where the fate of so many people and things depended on her and she carried so many things on her shoulders. They showed her and her strongest and at her weakest, all of it at once. She wasn’t some girlboss feminist, she was strong and she was weak, she was all at once, like a real proper character should be. A woman for other women to admire. The beloved historian. Guess what? They made her end up with a douche who treated her like shit, never chose her first, got their best friend killed because of his douche actions, boasted about having sex with another woman in front of her, and acted like a world class asshole when she turned to another man, who respected her even when he was her enemy, admired her and actually payed attention and was there for her when no one else was, The worst part, they tried to paint her as a feminist icon after this, with some cheesy men-hating lines. You deserved better Lucy. But in this house we like to pretend that idiotic two hour finale never existed. Thank you very much.

I feel like Fallout 4's player character was created with the assumption that they'd stick with the main quest, at least until reaching Diamond City. The first impressions and contacts a vault dweller makes in the wasteland can change everything. Imagine if Codsworth was the first person Lucy MacLean met, immediately followed by Preston Garvey and Mama Murphy. Imagine if Ma June was the first human Sosu met, immediately followed by Maximus and Cooper Howard.

Fallout 4 companions as which Don't Starve Together character they'd main:

Cait: Wolfgang, and eats all the food so she can stay permanently mighty. I would say Wigfrid but she's too much of a team player, Cait's gonna run off and die unprepared and then whine if she doesn't get revived immediately

Curie: Webber. Cute little spider boy who can befriend spiders and make them friends with the team!! What's not to love?? Also enjoys being helpful to the team by getting a ton of silk and eating all the extra monster meat.

Codsworth: Warly 100%. He takes the work the others are too lazy to do and stays at camp the entire time. Probably has an list of every single crockpot recipe beside him while he plays.

Danse: Wilson. He doesn't get the point of picking a character with disadvantages and thinks having to jump through hoops to manage character-specific issues is ridiculous. He'll never play as anyone other than Wilson.

Deacon: Wes would be too obvious so I'm going with Winona. Doesn't go to base ever, people don't even know he exists, but whenever the team goes to fight a boss he already has a complex cheese setup with catapults and meatbulbs or something. Minmaxes everything.

Gage: Willow. Burns down the chests when his sanity gets low and gets banned immediately.

Hancock: Probably Wortox??? He wants to be a little freak of some sort, that's for sure. Completely abuses his teleports out of laziness and never actually uses his souls responsibly.

Longfellow: Chooses Wickerbottom, dies to Charlie on the first night, then turns off DST and plays Shipwrecked instead. Picks Woodlegs. Still dies on the first night.

Maccready: If not Wolfgang, he probably hears X6 talk about meta strategies and plays as Wanda! Finds it very entertaining that an old lady is one of the strongest characters, and not having a health meter makes him feel much stronger than he really is.

Nick Valentine: Picks Woodie randomly at the character select screen without reading his description, gets pretty attached to Lucy and the easy wood supply. You can imagine his shock on the first full moon.

Piper: Refuses to pick a main for the longest time and goes down the entire list every time she dies, until she reaches Walter. She just CANNOT part with Woby, no matter how much she sucks at playing as him.

Preston: Wendy! He needs Abigail to help him with fights, I doubt he's very good at games. Definitely says he's going on a quick supply run then gets sidetracked by helping pipspooks. He can't just IGNORE them!!

X6-88: W8-78 would be the expected one (same naming scheme!) but I doubt X6 would enjoy having to run around and scan rabbits with Jimmy. He'd probably pick some minmaxer like Wanda or Wolfgang and ruins rush day 1 or whatever. He totally follows an online guide and ragequits when he realizes picking a "meta" character =/= automatic win.

Mad World: A Timeless Fanfic

When Mikaela "Mika" Edwards, a 28 years old brilliant engineer and programmer working for Mason's Industries is being abducted by Garcia Flynn, a former NSA agent, so she can pilot the Mothership for him, a team is quickly set up in order to bring back Mikaela and Anthony Bruhl alive. The team consists of Lucy Preston, Wyatt Logan and Rufus Carlin and they will have to stick together to stop Flynn's deadly plans.

This story takes place in an Alternate Timeline as Mikaela Edwards and Geiger are fictional characters I came up with.

To be honest I thought the tags about smut would be higher. I had no idea Established Relationship would be so high up but thinking about my Timeless fics, yeah that tracks.

It's so interesting looking at pure stats like this because they only tell a partial story of a writer's journey. I had fun looking through these!

So I was somewhat inspired by the AUs @shitty-fallout-art would do, triggered my brain to come up with this backwards au. The Backout AU? Fallwards? Backfall? Outwards? Anyways- Some backwards in their goals, some backwards in their origins. Brain is still swirling with it.

Piper is either a secret informant for the Institute, or she gave up being a reporter after it resulted in the death of her dad.

MacCready is a Mercenary-turned-Gunner. Maybe lost Duncan to ferals and Lucy is sick and dying, their relationship is relationshit after losing Duncan, but he's still trying to find a cure for her and using his Gunner connections. This also kind of makes it make sense why he'd be fine about staying in the Commonwealth after getting the cure and being open for romance. Not completely but still. And it would make the Gunners a joinable faction, maybe

Maybe X6-88 is still a courser, but he's one who actually has his own mind and thoughts. His goal is to kidnap people for the "perfect society".

Curie is a synth who wants to be a Mrs. Nanny because she's tired of thinking so much.

Deacon was a member of the Railroad, until he lost his wife to a malfunctioning synth, and became part of the University Point Deathclaws.

Nick was a detective but sooner or later was oucasted and either left to rot amongst junk, or the Institute took him back in to help him.

Preston leaves the Minutemen to be a simple farmer.

Danse might have found out he was a synth, and joined the BoS in hopes to hide and even forget his identity.

Shaun will still be a child, and believes synths are equal people. And/Or the Institute actually wants synths to have free thought, the goal is to restart society underground and make free-thinking immortal people with the synths, which is their reason to kidnap people. I don't want to take them away from being villains, but I do want to make it so that their delusions of kidnapping and killing people for turning into synths to be more justifiable, I guess.

Cait maybe was a chem-addicted fighter whose parents gave her to Tommy because they couldn't feed her, and she ends up getting clean and finding her parents? Kinda similar to the Pauper in the Barbie Princess & The Pauper, tbh.

Dunno about Strong, Hancock, Sole, or Dogmeat though. Then there's the Railroad, Minutemen, and BoS stuff. Railroad and Minutemen might be more thriving this switch-around? And maybe the RR is for synths who escaped because they have the memories of the families they were taken from and see the situation as so wrong.

This whole idea would need tweaking and more thought, some doesn't feel like it's backwards and more of a switch or opposites thing. But characters having their stories made backwards or flip-flopped would be interesting!

If I weren't working on the fanfic with the vampire idea, I'd work on this instead.
