You flinch in an argument
Genshin men (Diluc, Kaeya, Tartaglia) and how they react when you flinch in an argument. TW: mentions of violence, reader has been treated badly in her past relationships.
DILUC
Diluc doesn’t get angry very often. At least, he does, but he never gets angry at you. He doesn’t know who has hurt you before, but he knows you tread lightly around him due to a past memory, a past feeling - maybe fear? And he often keeps this in mind, but today he’s just been so stressed and all his pent up anger just explodes.
How could you think he’d be the kind of man that cheats? How could you even imagine him in an affair? He’s tried his best to make sure that he’s the perfect husband. He wants to let you know he’s capable of love, of being a husband and a father. But today he’s tired, and when he sighs heavily and moves his hand towards his forehead, you squeak loudly and jump away from him.
Diluc’s heart shatters. He feels a sudden swerve of anger and protectiveness wash over him. Your normally happy and bright eyes are clouded with fear, and you look up at him, but the anger on his face is gone.
Diluc is a strong, stoic man, and you’ve only seen him cry three times, once when he was drunk. This time, his eyes fill with tears and you’re shocked. This is not the reaction you’re expecting from him - you were expecting a hand across your face, a bottle thrown at you. But instead, he flings his arms around you, sobbing loudly into your neck. You’re still so shocked that you cry too, softly into his hair (Diluc is fairly taller than you). “I’m sorry,” he sobs, nose running, “I didn’t mean to make you scared. I would never dream of hurting you, I love you so much.”
KAEYA
Kaeya is a yeller in arguments. While Diluc has many quips and thoughtfully curated hurtful comments, Kaeya screams. The rare times you fight, he is always shrill, and always uses hand gestures, which can be a bit of an issue at times.
“I can’t believe you’d think I’d ever be interested in her!” if he was a cartoon character, there would be steam blowing from his ears. His blue eyes have become incredibly dark. He throws his arms up in the air and you flinch away from him. Kaeya freezes.
He drops his hands, face softening. Kaeya cries more than his older brother, and the tears roll down his cheeks, but his eyes are filled with rage, a different kind of anger from earlier.
You run up to hug him and he growls into you, “his name. Now.” you shake your head into him. You already know what’s running through his brain, you can practically see the red he’s seeing. He can barely breathe as he holds you tight, the rage is ricocheting off his body. “Please,” he mumbles, “please tell me his name. I’ll fucking kill him.”
CHILDE
He’s a member of the Fatui, so Childe must often appear scary and heartless, but in private and with his friends, he’s funny, kind, and caring - except for when he loses his temper. Ajax rarely loses his temper over proper things, and when he loses his temper for silly things, it always ends with rough sex, but you’ve never seen him lose his temper like this. Tartaglia is the perfect boyfriend, almost as if not being perfect is one of his insecurities. He knows you’ve been hurt in your past. He doesn’t know what happened, or who hurt you or when, but he knows that that’s why you’re always so quiet around other men, even him sometimes. It was just today where he let his anger get the better of him.
“I said not to come!” he’s screaming the words, “I said they were dangerous but you NEVER KNOW HOW TO LISTEN! What would happen if I didn’t know any of the Harbingers? Didn’t you see the way they were looking at you?!” Childe throws his arms up in the air and you jump away from him, backing into the wall and his eyes flash dangerously. He knows immediately why you’ve flinched and suddenly his anger at you is gone, instead focusing on whichever man touched you.
“His name,” he’s breathing through his nose, “now. Tell me his name, now.” the name of your ex stumbles out of your mouth and he cries out in rage, punching a wall. Tears stream down his face, and his pretty, amber orange hair is messy. You’ve only seen Tartaglia cry when he’s had nightmares or when he’s frustrated, but never because of you. You suddenly feel guilty for burdening him, “I’m sorry,” your lip trembling, and he sniffles, wrapping his arms around you, “you have nothing to apologize for.” you’d thought the hug would last longer, but it didn’t. He pulls away and you blink up at him. “Where are you going?” and the danger returns to his face, “to kill your ex.”

AITA for telling my her ex I read her poetry?
I (F19) dated my ex (F18, Lacy) for about 9 months. I broke up with her because she had a lot of issues I just didn't know how to deal with and I also fell in love with my best friend (NB19, Alex, he/his pronouns), so I decided it was the best course of action. I broke up with Lacy on January of 2023 and started dating Alex in February.
Around this time, I found an Instagram account that posted poetry. There was nothing that could identify the author, but the poetry was really good so I started to follow them. With time, however, the poems started to look... familiar. Not the writing style, but some situations on them, for example: one of them said something like "your brother's night sky truck that took us to the stars" (my older brother has a dark blue truck he would lend me so I could take Lacy on dates) and another said "that old guitar you had that you never learned to play like you played me" (I have an old guitar I inherited from my father and I indeed never learned how to play it). These are only two examples, but I found many others that convinced me that account belonged to Lacy.
I know I should have left it alone the second I realized the account belonged to her, but it was so flattering to see she wrote all of that about me. I didn't tell anyone, not my friends or Alex, but I kept following the account and reading Lacy's poetry. I think my feelings for her started to rekindle after that, because no one ever wrote about me like that and, as months passed, she kept writing about me. She never got over me.
My relationship with Alex also started to have problems during this time. He got a job at an ice cream parlour and he started a D&D campain with his friends, which means we started to spend less and less time together. He didn't seem to be as interested in me as he was during our first months of relationship, and I feel like he's taking me for granted. Lately, more specifically since December, we started to fight a lot over small things too.
We went to a New Year's party one of our friends was hosting and Lacy was there too. That enough was reason for Alex to start complaining, since he has a lot of feelings of jealousy regarding her. We ended up having a fight because he thought I knew she'd be there, which I didn't, and he went to stay with our friends, avoiding me the whole night.
It was New Year's eve and I had just fought with my partner, who was monopolizing all of our friends and leaving me by myself, so I started to drink. I know that wasn't a good idea, but I was angry and frustrated and I thought that would help. It didn't, I just got super drunk.
Since my filter disappears when I'm drunk, I went after Lacy and told her her poetry was really good. At first she was confused, so I said I found her poetry account and her poems were amazing, and I was flattered she still thought about me like that, because I didn't think anyone else ever saw me in such a beautiful way.
After that, the panic in her eyes became clear. She started to cry, not full on sobbing but some tears rolled down her face and she didn't answer me, just left. Alex saw the interaction and came to ask me what happened. I ended up telling him about Lacy's poetry account, we fought again and I decided to go home. In that same night, I searched for the poetry account and it was deleted.
This whole situation didn't leave my head since it happened and I don't know what to think. Alex has also been avoiding me and I don't understand why everyone seems to be against me. Lacy blocked me everywhere and I'm beginning to think leaving her for Alex was a huge mistake. It was also never my intention to make Lacy feel like she had to delete her account.
AITA for telling her I knew about the poetry account?
What are these acronyms?

Right around the corner (4) - Azriel
I didn't mean to make it this long, but I hope you liked it! There will be a fifth and final part, I think. You guys wanted to forgive Azriel so I needed to show you what happened. Be careful with the tags!
(1), (2), (3), (4), (5)
Plot: after the damage has been done, Azriel finds his brothers ready to pick up the pieces.
Warnings: prepare a second tissue box. Also, mental health issues - our boy has been through a lot and doesn't talk kindly about himself.
Cassian only remembered a few big arguments between Azriel and him. While Rhysand had headbutted with the general at the beginning, Cassian and Azriel’s relationship had been natural. The first one was loud, abundant and had a deep, burning need of someone understanding his pain. The shadowsinger was the complete opposite, and they had instantly connected.
Their biggest argument so far, that had brought them apart for almost ten years, had been when Rhys disappeared under the mountain. Cassian had gathered an army and was ready to march on Amarantha when Azriel stopped him. At the moment, he had felt betrayed by his brother, frustrated and furious.
But even if it had taken him ten years, they had worked their way around it.
Before Rhysand winnowed them away, Cassian was ready to start the second, biggest argument of their relationship. Even if he tried to hide it, the general still had abandonment and trust issues, and that his brother had hid something so important from him, that hadn’t trusted him with something so precious for an Illyrian male, broke his heart.
He was ready for the argument, but wasn’t ready for Azriel’s cries.
The cabin was filled with shadows, that moved frantically around. The shadowsinger had lost control of his powers a very, very few occasions, never relying on his emotions. But when Rhysand and Cassian appeared in the cabin, the high lord had to create a barrier between them and the shadows to protect themselves.
“Brother” Cassian whispered when the shadows started to let go, enough to see Azriel curled in the couch.
“Azriel, what’s wrong?” Rhysand was by his side the second he was let through, a hand on his shoulder. The shadowsinger barely acknowledge them. “Damn it. You’re freezing”
“I’ll turn on the fire”
“And bring a blanket” Rhysand called out as Cassian started moving.
It was muscle memory, after so long. After so many nights where either of them came battered to the cabin and Rhysand’s mother would take care of them. In silence, Cassian moved around the familiar space, turning on candles and searching for clothes.
Meanwhile, Rhysand used his powers to get into Azriel’s mind. Instead of prying into his memories, to rip away whatever was causing him pain, his friend helped him to rebuild his mental wards.
The high lord managed to make him sit up, enough so he could fall back against Rhysand’s shoulder and the male could hug his friend. The sobs quieted down and the shadows disappeared, apparently happy someone was taking care of their master for now.
Cassian stared at them for a moment, torn between the need to comfort and to hurt. To comfort Azriel as he had comforted him so many times in the past, to be there for him and apologize to any feelings he had felt during the last hours. But also, to search for the source of that pain and tear it down to pieces.
Years of living with him had taught him to be patient, so he ended up sitting on the other side of Azriel, tossing a pair of trousers and a sweater on his lap.
“Come on, try to stand up”
In silence, between Cassian and Rhysand, they managed to put some clothes on the shadowsinger. Azriel was quiet all the time, with his gaze lost in the fire. Every now and then, his knees would buck down and he would hitch a sob. But each time, there were his two friends, ready to catch him and steady him.
It felt as if nothing had changed for a moment, as if it was Cassian beaten to a pulp after a bad fight or Azriel having panic attacks when the lights came off. So many times in the past had they been in that situation.
When they finished, they ended up sitting in the couch. Now, they were bigger, wider, and nothing similar to the scrawny boys that huddled together when no one else wanted them. The couch felt ridiculously small, yet they managed to fit just fine.
It took Azriel a while to talk, and they didn’t pressure him.
“I have a mate” he admitted.
Through the haze of sorrow and sadness, of not knowing if the bond would hold on for much longer now that you had realized what had been going on, Azriel didn’t feel any different. He had imagined himself saying it a lot of times, presenting you to his family – with good and bad outcomes. And it had made him nervous, wary, enough that he had decided against it.
As he confessed it to his brothers, his family, he felt no different.
And hated himself just a little bit more.
“Did they… do this?” Cassian asked carefully, feeling how Azriel’s body tensed under his arm. “They hurt you?”
“No”
Rhysand willed himself to stay calm and respect his privacy, but he wanted nothing more than to answer Cassian’s silent call to barge in his mind and solve whatever was happening.
“Her name is Y/N” he added, his eyes filling with tears once more. “She… The bond snapped six years ago. I’ve fucked up. I’ve fucked up so bad”
“Y/N” Rhysand repeated, trying to remember if he had heard your name before.
“Six years?” Cassian looked between Rhysand and Azriel. “That… can’t be. Six years?”
“I fucked up”
Azriel’s voice broke once more, and between sobs and hitched breaths, he managed to explain what had happened. He let it free from his chest, hoping it would make him feel better, but it didn’t. It only made him realize, once more, how fucked up he was.
Without interrupting, Cassian and Rhysand listened to the story of that pointless mission that took him right to your door, where he was supposed to ask you about a male’s disappearance. About the moment he felt the bond in chest, in his soul, and how he had run away and avoided you.
They listened as he broke when he talked about that day you had invited him over, ready to accept the bond, and how he had faked to be confident. He didn’t mean to disappoint you, so when you had asked with so much hope if that was what he wanted, he had said yes, even if part of him knew he wasn’t ready.
Azriel described how, during the following weeks, he had confused the happiness from finally being together, with no interruptions, with the usual high of mates accepting the bond. How he had realized later that it wasn’t normal the fear and anguish he felt after he left your apartment, and how without meaning to or knowing how, he hadn’t accepted your imprint on him.
“That’s why we haven’t noticed” the high lord said, taking it all in. His brother’s story, his hurt and pain.
“What were you afraid of?” Cassian almost cut him off, bursting out the question both of them wondered about. “We are your family, Az. You should know we will accept you no matter what. And a mate… that’s something wonderful”
“Because I don’t deserve her” Azriel finally looked up to Cassian, and his friend was taken aback at the emotions in his eyes. “She’s soft, and beautiful, and the worst thing she can do is squish a spider without wanting to”
“Azriel, that’s not – “
“It is. You should see her, Rhys” he cut him off, turning to look at him. “Y/N is… different. The Cauldron must have made a mistake, because she’s everything I’m not. And I don’t deserve her”
Azriel tried to let Rhysand know why he didn’t deserve you. Why, every time he thought about bringing you into his life and letting you know the spy master, it broke his heart a little. He wanted to keep you safe, away from anything that could stain you the way he was stained. And he had thought, apparently, that he could get away with it.
Feyre poked at his mental barriers softly, wondering what was happening. After sending a comforting message through the bond, Rhysand returned Azriel’s look with a different type of conviction.
“I don’t know her, and I would love to” Rhysand told him, giving him a soft smile. “But brother, I know that whoever gets to be your mate, to share their life with you, has been blessed by the Cauldron. Your family didn’t see you the way we do, the way she does. And what they did – that isn’t what you have to expect any time someone gets close to you”
“My family isn’t the problem here” he tried to excuse himself, but the high lord could see the truth in his eyes.
“It is. You’re afraid to committing yourself to the bond because you fear she will break it. Because your family broke your trust. And then you thought you had that with Mor, and – “
“Don’t go there” Azriel warned him. “Don’t read me”
“I don’t have to read you. I know you”
“Az, you… deserve a mating bond” Cassian spoke finally. “Everything you have been through isn’t your excuse to reject it, it’s the reason you finally have something good”
Azriel wasn’t ready to talk about it. He had never been ready to talk about how he had felt when his brothers, the people he looked up to, tortured him as a game. He hadn’t shared with them yet how hard had it been to know he was a mere observer of his family life, locked away in a dungeon and treated like a dog.
And the feeling of not belonging, of having a safe place sabotaged, had only grown each time he watched Mor from the distance with someone else.
He wasn’t ready to talk about it, but he understood, that he had to.
“I feel like it’s all a dream. As if I’m watching my own life unfold from the distance, like a good movie. Whenever I’m not with her, I have this… thing” he explained, opening his broken heart to his brothers. “Like I’m a fraud”
“You’re not a fraud” Cassian corrected him quickly, barely standing his brother’s self-depreciating speech.
“I am. I pretend I have it all together but I’m so afraid” he swallowed hard at the end, skipping a breath. Azriel ran a shaky hand through his hair, and his brothers only held him stronger. “Sometimes I think about… our future, about her with me, and I feel like drowning because what if she – what if she stops loving me? I can’t handle – She’s all I have, all I want. I love her so, so much. I can’t – “
That time, both males were ready when Azriel tried to fold into himself again, shadows shifting anxiously and turning off a few candles. They were ready to keep him up straight and, somehow, holding him together as he broke apart once more.
Azriel needed help, and his family was more than ready to finally walk him through it.
-
You didn’t know what breaking a mating bond meant, or if that was even possible. If the feeling of your chest at any hour was the void of Azriel’s bond or if it was just your imagination. Either way, you had never experienced such a pain.
Barely able to leave the bed, you had been forced to close the bakery. Not permanently, you told yourself, just until you had it all together once more. Even if you didn’t know what that meant.
The day after Azriel left was spent grieving, and thankfully, you had his shadows to help you around. You managed to make it to the bed, to slide the curtains shuts and cry in peace without breaking your back along with your heart.
A day turned into two, then into three. Before you knew it, it had been a week and you weren’t any better.
You had tried to find an explanation, to comfort yourself in the happy memories or forget the past events. But your mind brought you back to the horrible realization that he didn’t want you. That Azriel didn’t love you the way you did.
You were understanding, you had always been. A smile on your face, gentle hands and loving words. That was what you were, a kind soul, your friends told you. Never through a tragedy other than losing your wings, always loved and taken care of.
Azriel had taken it all away in just one night.
The first note came from Feyre, although it wasn’t the last one. Even if you ignored them, you received those same notes that had uncovered the truth during the whole week.
Hello, Y/N. It’s Feyre, do you remember me? I have my art studio in front of your bakery. I’ve noticed that the bakery is closed, some of your usual customers even came to ask me about it. Everything alright?
Hi, Feyre here. Should have told you in the previous note that I’ve heard about you and Azriel from Rhysand. I’m here if you want to talk.
It’s Feyre again. I’ve seen the new sign about you taking a few days off. I hope everything is fine.
I hope it doesn’t bother you, but my friend Mor has been begging me for days to let her write you a message.
Hey, it’s Morrighan. We don’t know each other, but I fixed your necklace once. We heard about your thing with Azriel. Just wanted to say that part of it it’s my fault, that I haven’t treated him right in a long time, and many of his insecurities are because of me. So, I guess I’m partly the one to blame and I’m sorry. And you should know how miserable he is without you.
Y/N. I’m Cassian. Hi. How are you?
Dear Y/N, we were wondering if you would like to join us for dinner on Friday night. Greetings, Rhysand.
You ignored each and every note they sent you, even the ones carefully delivered by Azriel’s shadows. You expected them to leave, and part of you wanted them to do so and forget everything that reminded you of him. But they stayed for the whole week, bringing you food and taking care of your wellbeing. And the other part of you, the irrational one, liked the pain of the familiarity they brough.
They even helped you prepare a bath when you decided to be functional again. On Saturday’s morning, you changed the sheets, prepared the laundry and ventilated the room. You tossed out every dirty tissue and food container you had accumulated as if something had possessed you to do so. Then, you took a bath and cleaned carefully every part of your body.
It reminded you of cleaning Azriel’s wings and hair, of taking baths together, and you ended up crying naked in the bathtub until the water was cold. It took you half of the day to be decent enough to even wonder if you were ready to open the bakery once more.
Not that you were able, because there was a knock on your door and you just knew who was outside.
“It’s Azriel”
His voice was muffled because of the distance, but you heard the roughness. You froze on the kitchen, where you had been having your silent debate, and your heart sped up.
None of the notes were his, not even a casual flick through the bond that kept you communicated through long missions. If it wasn’t for the range of emotions you had felt during the last days, some of them similar to yours but not quite, you would have thought he had disappeared.
But there he was, just behind your door. Some shadows slipped through the bottom, tangling between your legs. The cold feeling was different from the one the usuals left, and you realized they were panicked shadows.
Azriel had mentioned you that his emotions controlled his powers if he wasn’t careful, and that the shadows went and came with them.
The new shadows tried to push you to the door, and like a rag doll, you let them complete the small path. They disappeared once more under the door, only to appear again when you didn’t open it.
“Hi” Azriel croaked out, only the wood in between. “I’m sorry. They appeared a week ago and I can’t control them yet. I’m sorry”
“They’re colder”
Your sore throat matched the tone of his voice. It wasn’t more than a whisper, a useless fact that you knew Azriel already noticed. But still, you felt the need to mention it. There was no anger left, no deception. Just the feeling of the new shadows caressing your skin frantically.
You couldn’t bring yourself to open the door and face him again, because you knew you wouldn’t forgive him. There was a pending talk between the two of you, missing explanations. You wanted to understand what had happened during the last six years, and he deserved to know what he had put you through.
Instead of asking you to open the door, you heard him shift on his feet and flap his wings.
“Yeah. And smaller” he agreed. “Um, I tried to get rid of them. Are they… bothering you?”
Am I bothering you?
“No. Not yet”
No, you aren’t. Not yet.
“Right”
It was almost comical to watch the shadows move around you. You hadn’t noticed the single tear that escaped, but they did – and in a moment you were blinded as they all tried to wipe it out at the same time. They made you take a step backward and almost stumble to the ground.
You had never seen too much of Azriel’s shadows, of his power. Apart from the single ones that danced around you and kept you company, you had never met the real shadowsinger. All the stories around him felt strange, property of someone else rather than your mate.
Azriel must have heard you move, or gasp, or maybe the shadows told him. He placed a hand on the door.
“Are you okay? I should go back. I’m sorry. I can’t make them – “
“They feel different too” you comment, enchanted by the shadows moving in your line of sight.
They were dark, and you shouldn’t have been able to see anything. But in the darkness, you could somehow guess their shapes. Some of them were smaller, bigger, thinner and wider. They weren’t like the formal, perfect ones Azriel usually wielded around you. They felt raw.
It took him a while to answer, and you waited patiently for his answer. You didn’t expect anything from that conversation, weren’t even sure what the conversation was about. Just hearing his voice felt at the same time as a punishment and a reward.
Still, he surprised you.
“Madja says they are the original shadows, the ones that should have been around since the begging” Azriel confessed, his nails scratching the door. “The ones… She says I was so scared of my own power that I locked it in a cage as a child and created just a shadow of the real one. Which I could control and… understand.”
“Madja the healer?” you blinked, still surrounded by his shadows. “Why are you – are you hurt? What happened?”
“No, I’m fine. I mean, unharmed. I’m not hurt” he chuckled humorlessly. “She’s been helping me with other things”
“Like what?”
You didn’t know where it came from, but there was an urgent edge on your voice that kept you alert. You knew Madja, had seen her help Azriel after any nasty mission. He had even told you about getting rid of your scars with her help.
Her name brought the already familiar pain – that you knew about her because she was important for Azriel, but she didn’t know about you because you weren’t that important for him. You waited in silence until he decided to talk again. When he did, you could tell he was close to tears.
“I’m not okay. It has taken me too long to figure it out, and it has costed me what I love the most in the world, but I’m not. I… am afraid, all the time” he started. “I am afraid that you will see my true self, what I am in the dark, and hate me the way I hate it. I’m afraid that you will figure out what made my family despite me, toss me aside, and decide to do the same. Or that you realize that I’m not a good mate, and be too kind to tell me and live trapped in a lie”
Feelings wasn’t something you usually shared with Azriel. You were the sensible one, the emotional mate. Who talked about something that made you happy or sad, that expressed your fears knowing he would be there for you no matter what. But not once in your six years you had heard about his.
Each word dug a hole in your chest, from your own feelings or his. The shadows eased enough to let you take a step forward. As if there was an invisible hand printed out, you put your hand where his was on the other side of the door.
“I am terrified to hurt you without meaning to, or to not be what you need. All the time. I’ve… created a routine, apparently, to give myself a sense of false confidence. To build a reality” Azriel stopped to catch his breath. “You’ve shaken that reality where I just… survived, and I thought I could continue pretending everything was fine. It’s not. It’s all so fucking wrong in my head”
Your own eyes were filled with tears by then, ready to fall on your knees. Because, what were you supposed to do now? You wished you could just forget about the past week, about his words – because you had just accepted that he was okay, had missed any signal that he was struggling.
And that made you feel almost as bad as him not accepting the bond.
“So I’m gonna get right, I’ve been getting help” your mate finished, taking a deep breath. “And then we… I love you, Y/N. I don’t have much to offer, but everything I am and have, is yours. When I’m okay, I promise, I will make things right. I promise”
Before you could answer, his shadows disappeared and Azriel winnowed away.

Okay so since the soulfire talk is back I want to talk about how people were so convinced that Bolas is the definition of found family but it seriously isn't.
They were brought together by the fact that in purgatory you lose yourself or you don't and at the time everyone in bolas was not well beforehand and then they were put on an island that basically said "you are going to Lose Yourself." And then they did it all together and that's it. So it's kind of funny when people are like "oh they're no longer family :(" like yeah that's the point.
Then we have soulfire who I say most of the people on that team were alone for they were already close to each other.
Like this was around the time where Tubbo started to feel very alone and then he got pushed into purgatory.
Tina was learning about or remembering her past as a demon and how much she hated it. And she also only really had foolish and bagi. But was also kinda pushing bagi away
Everything about badboyHalo. Him and Tubbo are so alike that it actually drives me crazy. And homestly during that time he only really had dapper.
Bagi who was rejected by her brother that she spent FOREVER TO FIND and the relationship between her and Tina was just starting.
Like even outside of purgatory soulfire still respects each other. It's only badboyHalo and tubbo that are willing to defend each other when other people keep stealing from them. Whenever Tina gets to see her beloved tubward she's always excited to see him and just happy to be with him again. The constant of soulfire members calling tubbo coach?? My heart is melting.
OH AND LETS NOT FORGET Pac, Bagi & bbh going to Purgatory 2 simply to save tubbo and bring tubbo back?? I'm sobbing my eyes out. Why did they make that their canon reason??? Cuz pain.
Yeah there was a moment where they had some respect issues for Tubbo. But Tubbo Time After Time proved himself to be the best leader for soulfire. Like sure anyone could have led soulfire but it's just something about tubbo being the main guy that pulls it all together. And on top of that it wasn't just tubbo leading bbh and tina where also helping and leading as much as they could. It would just lead back to tubbo. Unlike the bolas phil Messiah thing they had going on, even though that was good!
bagi when they came back still had great care for Tubbo. And that's just a here thing bte, they all did. She was one of the few people that saw him cracking and I will always love her for that. Now tubbo and bad have such a strange respect for each other that You Don't See with other characters. And I love that with all my heart.
they are so found family coded and I love them for it.
Found family even if they aren't together constantly anymore
Soulfire you will always always have a fan in me.
If soulfire has no defenders I'm DEAD

living with an emotionally unavailable parent is soul crushing at times. yes i can say i have two parents who did love each other at one point but it came to an end. to my knowledge no one knows when my dad became a different person. always drinking, going from bar to bar every night, never affectionate to me or my mom, emotionally and apparently physically abusive.
he was never the parent to help you with homework at the dinner table, although if he did i left that table in tears, clutching my book and running up the stairs.
i always had a feeling he did that to my mom but i never saw it so i chose to block out those thoughts, until i saw the proof right in front of me.
there was many moments in which i thought they would eventually split up and i could just live happily with my mom but for some reason it never happened. reasons in which at this point im honestly scared to find out. seeing your parents relationship crash and never having a true representation of what love is can fuck with you.
which brings me to now.
silently crying in chris’ bathroom at 7am after a night out in which i drunkenly confessed to him that i loved him. i thought i did, but did i actually know what that meant? i sure felt it when i was with him.
home.
he felt like home. he felt like safety. he felt like comfort. he felt like when my world was crashing he could come with a toolbox and fix it within seconds.
sure thats what you would want out of your significant other, but i dont know what love truly is.
i sat on the toilet with the lid down with my face buried into my hands and tears that never seemed like they would stop. struggling to breathe for air as i my mind just raced with thoughts. my parents, chris, anna, everything.
knock, knock
fuck. me.
i get up and wipe my face, hand on the door nob slowly twisting it. i crack to door open and im greeted with the all to familiar blue eyes that i seemed to drown in every time i looked into them. his face saddens as i open the door wider and his arms come over my shoulders. “what wrong?” chris whispers as i wept into his chest. i dont respond and just shake my head against him. he pulls away and puts one hand on the side of my face and the other one is placing my hair behind my ear, “theres nothing you cant tell me y/n, why are you crying”
“i cant-“ i croak, dropping my head down and putting my hands up to face. “yes you can, what happened?” he sighs as he pets the back of my head. “i told you i loved you” i sniffle
“what?”
“i- i told you i loved you.” i say more sternly this time.
“why is that a reason to cry kid?” he whisperers wiping my tears. “chris what do i know about love, nothing. i was shown a fucked up version of an abusive relationship my entire life. thats no way to learn what love is, i dont know what it truly feels like. m- my dad fucked me over for my entire life by being who he is, i dont know if i can ever fix that part inside of me.” i let out a sob.
“well y/n i know what love is, i am standing with it right now” he begins, “this, this right here is love,” he points between us, “them, that is love” he points at the hallway meaning his brothers. “this” he kisses me, “that is love.”
i blink at him as he talks, just in awe of his way with words. “there is never a day that i dont worry about you, if your ok, if you want to stop this fake relationship, if you even give a shit about me.” he half chuckles, “i was shown love not just by my parents but by you.” he breathes.
“you might not exactly know if your in love with me but i sure as hell am in love with you.”
jaw, on the fucking floor.
“you what?” i sniffle. “i fucking love you”
i lean up grabbing either side of his face and pull him in to a kiss. the salt of tears and chris hitting my tongue and i continue to cry into the kiss as tears flow out of my closed eyes.
“i love you too.” i pull away and he leans in again.
home, thats exactly what this felt like. i had never felt safer than in this moment. maybe i didnt know what real love was, but i knew i felt it when i was with him. i felt it for months and it was right in front of me but i always believed it was too good to be true.

Hi! Um, I had this idea. How do you feel about broppy? It would just be fun to see some headcannons, in terms of their relationship, behavior among themselves. A wedding? hahaha. I know it's probably corny, but I'd like to see
Tumblr media
BROPPY HEADCANNONS
It’s no energy x too much energy
But we all knew that already
I like to think that after finding out Poppy is allergic to her favorite flowers, Branch would press the flowers and seal them so the pollen can’t reach her
He would literally go to the ends of the earth for her
Poppy has a scrapbook with photos of him and lil songs she wrote for him
She also keeps the scrapbook he made for her in a safe place with a picture of them both together
Sleepovers happen- you cannot convince me otherwise
I like to think that Branch has sensory issues so he has his own blanket at poppy’s pod so if a spontaneous sleepover happens, he can sleep in peace
If a wedding did occur
It would be small, contrary to popular opinion
It would be their friends, branches brothers and poppy’s dad and sister (along with Bridget and Gristle
The brothers definitely pulled the ‘first look at the bride’ prank
John Dory dressed up in a wedding dress and tapped branches shoulder, Branch turned around- expecting to see poppy and instead burst out laughing at his brother
It was a good moment
Then it happens for serious
Viva and King Peppy walk Poppy down the aisle
Viva is already crying- Peppy isn’t too far behind her
John Dory is proud, Floyd is sobbing with happiness, Bruce is smiling, Clay is shooting thumbs up at Branch
When Branch sees poppy walking down the aisle-
Everything disappears except her
He doesn’t even realize he’s crying until poppy wipes them off his cheeks
Everyone starts crying when they say their vows
“If anyone sees any reason as to why these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace”
Poppy smiles cause she knows no one will say anything
Branch glares into the crowd
You can hear JDs ominous knuckle cracking as everyone is silent

Girl Bradshaw
Summary: a little peek into the early years of your life
Pairing(s): Jake Seresin x F! Bradshaw! Reader
Warning(s): mentions of deceased parents, death of a loved one, fighting, bradley being a dick, daddy issues,
A/n: thank you for all the support on the first part :,) glad you all liked it!
Part 2: Chick
Tumblr media
Nick "Goose" Bradshaw
He was a man who was loved by all who met him. He was loved most of all by his family. His best friend, his brother from another mother, Pete, was his counterpart. Someone who'd always have his back, no matter what. His loving wife, Carole, was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. She just like him was easy to love. She was bright, sweet, a constant ray of love and laughter. There was also their adorable son, Bradley. A boy who loved his dad more than anything. Most of time you'd find him clutching a mini F-14 Tomcat in his hands, a gift from his beloved dad. Everyone who met Nick loved him.
You never got the chance to meet him. Nick died 6 months after you were born. Bradley was 5 at the time. He had 5 years with him, while you had nothing. Bradley had memories, however few he remembered, with him. And you? Nothing. You know who he is, but you don't know him.
Maybe that was the start of the fall of your relationship with Bradley.
Tumblr media
Despite never knowing your dad, Carole, always the good mother, showed you pictures of him, told you stories about him, let you watch the old videotapes that he was in.
Oh, how you loved those videotapes as a child. For hours, you'd lay in the living room, eyes glued to the TV that replayed videos of Nick. Some were of him with Carole, their undying love for one another as clear as day. Others were of moments with him and friends. Then there were some of Bradley, his first steps, preschool, birthdays, his little league games. There was only one of you and Nick.
It was the day you were born. Carole was asleep on the hospital bed with Bradley curled up against her side. You were laying in your hospital issued bassinet, your eyes wide and staring up at the ceiling. Nick, the loving father, pointed the camera down at you and cooed.
"Baby, you are beautiful. Just like your mama. You're smaller than your brother was when he born. You're like a baby chick! That's what I'll call you, baby chick. My chick." The camera shifts from you to Nick. He's smiling wide and his eyes are full of love. "I'll always protect you, Chick. I'll always love you."
You stopped watching the videotapes when you got into middle school. They were too much to watch, the heartache was all consuming. Pete around this time had filled in the void that Nick had left. When he wasn't on deployment, he was living in an apartment 10 minutes away from the Bradshaw house.
Although seeing you, Carole, and Bradley caused Pete to relive the worst event of his life, he stayed because of you. Whenever you'd get out of the school and you saw him, you'd smile wide and he'd see Nick. When you'd tell him a story about something that happened, your eyes would light up and he's feel his heart swell with love for you.
Carole never minded Pete stepping in as a father figure for you. He wasn't just Nick's best friend but her's as well. She was grateful that you had someone to look up. She didn't date since she felt that no one would ever live up to Nick, so Pete made life easier. Of course, he wasn't around every day, during those times you'd practically cling to Bradley.
Tumblr media
It was late one night when you'd gotten up for some water. Half asleep, you rubbed the sleep out of your eyes before stopping. You peeked around the corner to see your mom on the phone, her back turned to you.
"He's talking about joining the Naval Academy, Pete! Please! I can't," Carole let out a shaky breath, "I can't lose him too." Her shoulders were shaking with light sobs and you frowned. Turning around, you tried to walk as slowly as possible back to your room. The floorboard creaked underneath you and you stopped.
"Braidy?" Carole asked, her footsteps rushing towards you. Turning around, you pretended to rub your eyes and smiled at your mom.
"Just had to pee," you whispered. Carole bit her lip before she moved to wrap her arms around you. You let your head rest on her shoulder as you wrapped your arms around her. By this time, you were around the same height.
"I love you, Chick," she whispered softly. She removed her arms from around you and cradled your face. Tears started to pool in her eyes as she kissed your forehead.
"Mama? Are you ok?"
"I'm fine. Just tired."
Tumblr media
"Where is she!" Bradley yelled, his voice full of panic. The nurse jumped a little at the volume of his voice.
"R-Room 264."
Spitting out an apology, Bradley took off running. His heart was beating out of his chest and could feel bile start to rise in his throat. He stopped when he saw you squatting outside your mom's hospital room. Your body shook and your wails were muffled. "Braidy...?" Bradley whispered, immediately crouching down and wrapping you up in his arms.
You clung to your big brother as you continued to cry. "Bradley...Sh-She's gone..." you sobbed, your hands tightly gripping the back of Bradley's shirt.
Tumblr media
"HE PULLED MY PAPERS BRAIDY!" Bradley yelled at you, his face red with anger and sweat starting to form on his forehead. You let out a small whimper at his voice and pushed your hair away from your face.
"I'M SURE HE HAS HIS REASONS, BRADLEY! JUST TALK TO HIM!"
Scoffing, Bradley shook his head and pointed a finger at you. "DID YOU DO THIS? DID YOU TELL HIM TO PULL MY PAPERS?" Shocked, you shook your head.
"NO! BRADLEY JUST TALK TO DAD!"
Silence filled the room as you both took in your own words. Shaking, you brought a hand up to cover your mouth. Tears spilled from your eyes as you wiped him.
"Dad?" Bradley scoffed, his voice full of venom. "That guy's dead to me. And, so are you."

Whumptober Day 3. "Make it Stop"
Damian let out a huff, he couldn’t believe he was having to do this. But his brother had told him that he was worried about Timothy and that meant that Damian would have to do something about it. Who cares if the entire relationship between his two brothers was strange and made Damian’s head ache something fierce any time he did the mental gymnastics required to think about how this had even happened?
Danyal Al Ghul had been the heir to the Demon’s Head and Damian’s older brother. The man was seven years Damian’s elder and had been everything that Damian had failed to be as an heir. Until his older brother had disappeared off of the face of the planet. Danyal at ten years old had been shoved into the Lazarus Pits by a traitor of Ra’s and his body had never been found. Only for Tim to find him seven years later on his quest to bring Father back from the timestream.
The main issue, though, had been that neither knew of the other’s relation to Damian and had much to Damian’s horror and disgust, fallen in love.
There had been quite a story revolving around Danyal and Timothy and their whirlwind romance to bring their father back to the present time. It also did not help that Danyal had disappeared before ever learning that Bruce Wayne was his biological father, he had never gotten the chance to beat Mother in a fight to get that information.
Damian was still unaware of how Danyal learned about Damian and Bruce. Still, Danyal had made it rather clear when Timothy had brought him back that he was far from interested in being a part of the Wayne family. He had assured Damian that they would always be brothers and had even made a point of getting to know Damian just as he did with Bruce but it was still a strange relationship altogether. It likely had something to do with the fact that he and Timothy had fallen in love with one another. It made Damian’s feelings towards Timothy even more complicated than they had already been. On one hand, he found himself resenting the older boy for stealing yet another person away from Damian, yet on the other hand, he was thankful for Timothy bringing Danyal to him in the first place. Damian had only been three when Danyal had disappeared but he still had strong memories of Danyal and the love that he had provided Damian when no one else in their lives did.
“What are you doing here, Demon Brat?” Timothy muttered, bringing Damian back to the present, back to his current task.
Danyal had asked Damian to check on Timothy for him. He was apparently trapped in another meeting in the Infinite Realms and had been unable to get a hold of Timothy in the last two days. Damian had suspected that his older brother was overreacting but now, looking down at Tim’s disgusting room, Damian supposed that Danyal had reason to worry.
“Danyal,” Damian said simply as he looked over the room once again. Timothy’s vigilante suit lay in a heap on the ground in one corner. Damian counted out fifteen different cups and coffee mugs scattered throughout the bedroom. The room itself smelled stale and slightly of body odor. It was pathetic.
“Well you can tell Danny that I’m fine,” Tim muttered, burying his face in his pillows once more.
Damian clicked his tongue and shook his head. “I cannot do that. Danyal has given me a task,” he said with a sigh.
A soft sob slipped out of Tim’s mouth and Damian found himself almost pitying the seventeen-year-old. He tilted his head to the side, his brows furrowed. “What’s wrong with you?”
Tim let out a curse and rolled onto his back, rubbing the palms of his hands into his eyes roughly. “Nothing, Damian. Nothing that you would understand,” he said with a sigh.
“I’m eleven now, I’ll have you know that I understand a lot,” Damian said in a haughty tone before sitting on the corner of the bed. His relationship with Tim the last year was an odd one, that was one way for him to put it, at least. At the beginning, he had hated Tim and thought of him as an interloper, someone who did not deserve to be a part of Damian’s family. And then not only did Tim bring back Bruce, but he also brought back Danyal and Damian had found that he owed Tim quite a bit. Which made him uncomfortable as well considering he did not like being in the debt of others. Pair that with the fact that Tim had nearly died by Damian’s hands multiple times and Damian did not know how to feel about his older brother. Tim had always been polite, had always kept Damian at an arm's length even when Danyal was over. He always viewed Damian as someone who had to stay on guard around.
And at first, Damian was fine with that. Really he relished in the fact that he made Tim so wary of him. But that started to change when Damian came over to see Danyal more, and started to learn more about Tim during those visits and it had Damian wanting more, in a strange way he didn’t understand. He started to see Tim like his brother, like a friend. Yet he could never get close enough to act on those feelings and it was his own fault that he could not do so. He hated himself for it, hated Tim for it.
Tim let out a huff and Damian took in his brother’s features. The bright red nose, the red-rimmed eyes.
“Have you been crying? Are you injured?” Damian asked, now doing a cursory once-over.
His brother let out a dark chuckle and shook his head. “No,” he said softly. “It’s been, ah, how does Danny put it? A bad brain week?” He suggested and Damian furrowed his brow.
“What do you mean?”
Tim sucked in a breath before running a hand through his greasy black locks. “You know what depression is, yeah? B has gone over mental health issues with you?”
Damian nodded once, still watching his brother with worried eyes. “Yes, it’s a mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. It affects how you feel, think, and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living,” Damian recited dutifully and winced as the snort that came from the older man.
“What’d you do, memorize the definition from the Mayo Clinic?” He asked sardonically. Damian flushed slightly.
“Maybe,” he muttered.
Tim just chuckled and shook his head. “Well, I struggle with depression,” he admitted, staring at the wall ahead of him, eyes unseeing. “I’ve dealt with it since I was a kid since those days I was stalking Batman and Robin on the rooftops. But in the last few years, it’s gotten worse. To the point where now I wonder what I’m even still doing here. Ya know?” He said softly.
“Still doing here as in your apartment? Because I must say, the manor is much better than this place,” Damian said, crinkling his nose. Tim made a noise in the back of his throat and Damian realized that Tim was crying.
“No. I just want to make it stop,” he breathed out, his voice hitching slightly as he did. “I thought, I thought things were better now. Now that Bruce was back Danny and I have a wonderful relationship and things were going well with everyone, I thought things would be different. But it’s not, it’s not different and I still want to die.”
That had Damian pausing. “As in you no longer see life as worth living?” he asked, hoping that he was wrong.
Instead, another sob slipped out of Tim’s mouth and he nodded his head once. “Yeah,” he whispered quietly. “And fuck, you’re just a kid, you don’t need to hear about this.”
Damian reached over and clasped a hand on Tim’s shoulder. He stared up at his brother with a determined gleam in his eyes. “Your life is worth living, Tim. I don’t- I’m not good at words. But you are a good person, and you bring joy to a lot of people’s lives. Mine included,” he said softly. “But the way you make others feel does not matter. What matters is that you are worth it, your life is worth it and you have a bright future ahead of you.”
Tim sniffed. “That’s not it,” he whispered, shrugging from Damian’s grip on his shoulder. “If I died, it wouldn’t change anyone’s lives, everyone would move on and be fine.”
“That’s a lie,” Damian said roughly. “Danyal’s life wouldn’t be the same. I do not know everything yet as he hasn’t been comfortable sharing all of it with me. But I know that you are the only thing that brought him back to humanity. My life would not be the same. This last year of getting to come over and spend time with you and Danyal has been some of the best days of my life. I have gotten to reconnect with my Danyal and I have also gotten to know my big brother better,” he said, looking up at Tim. “And I am not talking about Danyal, our relationship is not there yet, I don’t think. But you are my big brother and I would miss you. I would miss coming over for movie nights and for the times we team up and roast Danyal together. I would miss the nights on patrol with you where you actually trust me and let me work with you.”
A sob escaped from Tim again and Damian found himself with an armful of his brother. He said nothing else as he hugged the man tight, clutching him to his chest. He would have to work harder to make sure that Tim knew he was appreciated, that he was a part of this family whether he liked it or not.
....
“We’re not watching Mission Impossible!” Tim exclaimed, falling onto the couch dramatically as he smashed himself between Damian and Danyal. “I can’t watch another spy movie or else I will actually start losing brain cells.”
“I thought that watching all of the spy movies of this dimension was important to my education,” Danyal said innocently, wrapping his arm around Tim’s shoulders.
“I should have never suggested that you and Damian bond that way,” he said with a huff before he tilted his head up to give Danyal a soft kiss, eliciting a noise of disgust from Damian who simply threw the popcorn at the two.
“Do you know how weird it is for me to think about my two brothers dating one another?” He asked, looking between the two, nothing but amusement sparkled in his eyes.
Danyal craned his head around Tim to give the younger boy a devious smile. “Do you really think that’s the weirdest part of your life? Not you know, growing up in an assassin cult, not being a vigilante, or oh! Not the fact that you’ve had multiple clones try to kill you? The weird thing is to have two brothers, who are not related to each other in any way, date?”
“Yes,” Damian said with a sniff.
“What about the fact that your brother is a ghost?” Tim asked.
“Or that your dad was thrown in the timestream?” Danny suggested.
“Or that you’ve nearly committed fratricide multiple times?” Tim pointed out causing Damian to glower.
“What about the fact that your best friend is an alien?” Danny asked.
“Better yet, what about the fact that your dad is fucking an alien?” Tim said and both Al Ghul’s looked at him in shock and horror. “What?” He asked innocently, looking between the two brothers in confusion. “You’re telling me that you guys didn’t know that Bruce is sleeping with Clark?”
“He can’t do that,” Damian whined, burying his face in his hands as he fell to his side on the couch.
“Why not?” Danyal asked, looking confused.
“Because I have a crush on Jon!” Damian cried out.
Tim and Danny looked at one another for a moment before bursting out into laughter.
“Ancients Tim, this family is fucked up,” Danny laughed, holding his sides as he did.
Tim just smiled and shook his head. “Yeah, but it’s mine,” he said softly

Reiner Braun General Yandere Profile
Requested privately on Tumblr.
Reiner is my favorite Attack on Titan character, so this was fun to write.
WARNINGS: NSFW portion, spoilers
Aware, Delusional, or Denialistic?
Is he aware of what he is doing or is he delusional/in denial?
Reiner is aware. I would say delusional, because he can be a little, but he knows what he’s doing is wrong. He cries over the guilt of what he’s doing on a regular basis, especially if it hurts you. He wants nothing more than for you to be happy, but he’s also very selfish.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Obsessive or Possessive?
Does he care more about you or about owning you?
Reiner is obsessive- he cares about you so, so, so much. He cares so much that it hurts. He does want you to be his, desperately, but he cares a lot about your comfort and happiness. It’s a struggle between wanting you and wanting your happiness.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Behavior Analysis:
How does he generally behave around you?
Reiner is a big brother figure in a sense. He’s protective, defending you from anyone that hurts you and from titans. If you’re an “island devil”, he wants to protect you from titan shifters too. He enjoys making you laugh and seeing you smile, so he often jokes around with you. He’s softer with you, finally happy for once in his tragic life.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Utilize or Avoid kidnapping?
Does he prefer kidnapping you or does he prefer finding other methods to obtain you?
Reiner wants desperately to have a normal relationship with you, but he’ll probably resort to kidnapping. His life is dangerous, deadly. He doesn't have a choice.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spiral Analysis:
Does he spiral out of control quickly or is he able to hold on to his humanity for a long time before he snaps?
Reiner spirals quickly. He definitely has attachment issues, so the minute someone shows him some understanding and kindness, he latches on to them. That’s bad news for you, because it makes him snap pretty quickly. After all, the world is a dangerous place.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Restrain, Threaten, or Barricade?
Does he resort to restraining you, threatening you, or locking down the building/room to keep you kidnapped?
Reiner locks down the room to keep you there. He would never threaten you, he loves you too much for that. And he knows you’d be miserable if you were restrained. He wants you as happy as possible, although you can never leave.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Escape Attempt Analysis:
How he would react to a successful or failed escape attempt.
He’d be heartbroken! Sobbing into your neck with his arms wrapped tightly around you as soon as he got ahold of you again. He knows you’re not happy here, but he needs you.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Manipulate or Overpower?
How easy would it be to overpower or manipulate him in order to escape?
Overpowering is impossible, I mean, he’s the armored titan and very strong in human form. Manipulation is a possibility, however. Reiner’s mental state is not very good, so if you can take advantage of his guilt and past trauma, you might be able to escape. But you’ll probably feel very bad about doing it.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lenient or Strict?
How long is the chain (metaphorical or not) that he keeps you on?
Reiner lets you do whatever you want in the room he keeps you in. He wants your happiness, so he tries to buy you things that will make you happy. He’s not rich by any means, but we’ve seen how he likes to spoil the ones he cares about, so he’d definitely try to spoil you.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rule and Punishment Analysis:
What kind of rules he has and what punishments you receive for breaking them.
Reiner doesn’t punish and he doesn’t set any rules. If you try to escape or say something hurtful, he’ll just feel like he deserves it.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rival Elimination Analysis:
How he deals with rivals and potential elimination methods.
Reiner doesn’t deal with rivals out of jealousy, but only out of fear for your safety. For instance, if you have a bully. He’d feel very little guilt about killing them because he’s saving you. But sometimes, all they need is a little intimidation, since Reiner’s a big, muscular guy with titan powers.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anger Analysis:
How easily he angers, how that anger looks, and how to calm him down.
Reiner doesn’t get angry at you, but he does get angry at people who threaten your safety, physically or emotionally. For example, if you’re Marleyan, Porco can be a real jerk to you, so Reiner’s easily angered by him. He sometimes picks a fight, but normally he stews in his silent rage. He’s calmed down only by you.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Above, Beneath, or Equal?
How does he view you: as something to worship, to own, or just as another human being?
Reiner is a worshiper. To him, you’re a perfect being, one that he’s lucky enough to just be near. He looks to you for comfort and affection and he feels like you’re the only person in the world who could ever make him happy that way.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requite or Reject?
How does he react to you accepting or rejecting his love?
He feels like he deserves rejection, but it fuels his desire to kidnap you. After all, how can he protect you when you don’t love him? A weak argument, but he needs an excuse. Accepting however? He’s over the moon. Now you can be a happy, normal couple.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Determination Analysis:
The level of determination to get you to requite or accept his feelings.
Like I said, Reiner feels like he deserves a rejection. I think, if he kidnaps you, he’d try to treat you right and secretly wish that you’d just love him back, make things easier for the both of you, but he wouldn’t pursue that specifically too much. He doesn’t deserve your love.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
NSFW
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dominant or Submissive?
Are they dominant, submissive, or a switch?
Dominant. He doesn’t mind being on the bottom, but he can’t help but take control even in that situation. He just loves the feeling of your tightness so much that he can’t help but pound into you.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Favorite Position?
Favorite sex position.
I think he’d like missionary because he can hold your hand and stare into your eyes. If he gets teary-eyed, like he sometimes does during sex with you, he can bury his face in your neck. He also likes doggy style though.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kinks?
Their favorite kinks.
I could picture Reiner maybe having a mommy kink, but he definitely has a size kink. You’re just so small or fragile compared to him!
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Favorite body part?
Their favorite body part on you.
Reiner’s an ass kind of guy, as we kind of saw with the female titan. He loves to grope your ass and watch it jiggle as you walk around.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Giver or Receiver?
Do they prefer giving or receiving pleasure?
Giving. I mean, don’t get him wrong, he loves when you suck him off, but that’s only if you’re doing it by your own choice. Otherwise, he loves to eat you out, especially when you sit on his face.

i know it won’t work

an; i recommend listening to the song “i know it won’t work” by gracie abrams, as that’s what this fic is based on.
please send requests! i’m running out of ideas.

clicking on nicks profile, you typed a message that you knew was going to hurt you. ‘hey, how’s matt?’
nick responded almost immediately, confirming your thoughts. ‘he really misses you, he’s cleaning out the closet incase you come to stay for the summer.’ you sighed, closing your phone and laying back onto your mattress. you knew you weren’t coming back this year, you couldn’t.
matt moved to LA for work over a year ago, leaving you in boston for school. long distance was hard, but for a while the two of you made it work. it worked, until it didn’t. continuing long distance was not an issue for you, but you both knew it hit matt hard. matt began to text you less, and he seemed less enthusiastic in his youtube videos, his career. noticing the change in his behavior is what caused you to make your decision. as much as you love him, it’s impacting his work life, and that brings both him and his brothers down.
you called matt’s phone, trying to decide what to tell him. he picked up the phone after two rings, and greeted you with a sad smile.
“hey n/n, miss you”
“hey, hows your week been?” you can’t do it, not today. you just need one more day of this. you missed him. after a slow and sad conversation with matt, he tells you that you should get some rest, as classes in the morning will be rough with a lack of sleep.
“i love you” he smiles at your tired voice, blowing you a kiss like he always did before ending a call.
“i love you too.”
this is going to be hard.
pacing around your room anxiously, your thoughts raced through your head at unimaginable speeds. thoughts of doubt, regret, and fear. you and matt had been together since high school, you were prom king and queen during your covid-interrupted senior year, and voted high school sweethearts in the yearbook. it all fades away as you sink into yourself, knowing what you have to do.
the call was tough. lots of tears, broken voices, and trying to work things out. however, in the end, you both knew it wouldn’t work out. in order to be the happiest and most successful the two of you could be, you have to do it without each other.
“i’m sorry matt” you cried into the phone. it’s not that you stopped loving matt, you’ll always love matt. but you know what’s best for him, and what’s best for him isn’t a relationship with you.
“it’s okay. we both knew it was necessary.” matt’s eyes welled up with tears as the two of you sat in silence for a moment.
“i do love you y/n. this isn’t going to change how much i love you. i will always love you.” you choked out a sob, unable to contain yourself.
“i love you too matt, i hope you know that this isn’t malicious in any way, i just want what’s best for you”
“i know”
after the call is ended, you slowly made your way to your couch. you were too upset to sleep in your bed by yourself. drifting to sleep on your couch, you can’t help but wonder how matt is feeling. maybe one day, the two of you will reconnect. you consider the thought of right person, wrong time as your eyes closed for the final time that night.

˚✧₊⁎ My Brothers Fiancé ⁎⁺˳✧༚
Rin recounts how he fell in love with Sae's Fiancé.
★ pairing: Sae x reader x Rin
★ wc: 2.53k
Rin remembers the moment Sae brought you home. Sae was in middle school and Rin was in elementary. He recalls his mom greeting you at the door before calling him over.
“Rin! Sae’s home! And his friend is here. Come down to say hi.”
Rin didn't care Sae brought home a friend, he just wanted to hang out with his brother alone, and now this friend would be interrupting them. However, Rin's thoughts quickly changed when he saw how pretty Sae's new friend was. You were so cute that Rin got nervous, choosing to stand behind his mom instead of saying hi. You laughed at young Rin's antics before pulling out a sweet from your bag to offer him.
You bowed slightly "Here Rin! Thank you for having me here!"
Rin approached you cautiously snatching the loli out of your hand, muttering a quick " thank you " and running away.
It would be like this for the next few years. You coming over to hang out with Sae and coddling Rin. To you, he was like a little brother, so cute with a chubby baby face.
It wasn't until high school that both Itoshi siblings hit puberty and shot up in height leaving you at a mere 5'2. Head pats to Rin became hugs and that cute little boy who would beg for treats and call you big sis, became a young man who was stubborn and rude. Unlike the growing issues between the brothers, you and Sae grew close. You were the only one Sae got along with and eventually, he began to see you as more than a friend. You've been with him for the last four years, comforting him, making him laugh, and encouraging his dreams. Despite the brother's disdain for each other, you managed to be a friend to both. You showed up to their football games, cheered them on, hugged them when they won.
You and Sae eventually started dating and Rin would see more and more of you, but this time in the arm of the person he was jealous of the most. Since then, Rin started to distance himself from you, no longer responding to your good morning <3 texts, and no longer inviting you to his games. You could understand where he was coming from though, he and Sae didn't get along so you could see why he no longer wanted to associate with you, That doesn't mean it still didn't hurt your feelings though. You valued your friendship with Rin, he was there for you when your cat died when you failed your math test, and when you had trouble with Sae. Sometimes he knew you better than Sae did.
Nevertheless, Sae was a good boyfriend, he never forgot an anniversary and always surprised you with gifts and flowers. The social media posts of you two really got to Rin. You and your "perfect relationship" flaunted all over your page.
Eventually, Sae had to go to Spain for football, but before left he planned a special event for the two of you and invited his family after. Sae told your best friends to take you shopping and get your nails done with his credit card then took you to a high-end restaurant. He brought you to the outdoor garden of the restaurant and got down on one knee.
" (y/n) You have been the love of my life for the past 5 years, we were childhood sweethearts to lovers and I cannot imagine my life without you and I can't imagine going to Spain without knowing your mine. When I look at the future I only see you. You've encouraged my dream and I hope to support you in yours. I will think about you all the time when I am away. And when I come back, I would like to make you my wife."
Your eyes swelled with tears, Sae was a romantic but this was perfect. While sobbing your eyes out you held out your hand for Sae to slip the ring on whispering one word " Yes."
You two went back to the Itoshi house to celebrate your engagement. Everyone was congratulating you, everyone but Rin. He was sulking in the corner thinking about the what if's. What if he didn't push you away. What if the moments you were hanging out with him while Sae was busy he kissed you. What if he wasn't a coward to confess his feelings. Would you and him be engaged now instead of his loathsome brother?
You were devastated when Sae left for Spain. Although you continued to pursue your dream as an artist and Sae as the best midfielder in the world, you two still made time for each other. As for you and Rin, your relationship got better. Your job was near his school so you would often walk home together or get food. You two even started having Friday night movie nights. It started when you started complaining to Rin about how boring life was without friends and Sae was always too busy for you. You also told him that you wanted to see the new Barbie movie but had no one to go with. And this is how you roped Rin into dressing up with you to see it.
You two got your drinks and snacks and made your way to the theater. Sitting in your seats Rin spotted a rowdy group of guys a few seats down from you. Realizing who they were he quickly ducked his head towards you, hoping to not catch their attention. However, a certain multi-color-haired person immediately recognized him.
"Rin? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE! I THOUGHT YOU SAID THIS MOVIE WAS LAME"
You look up above Rins head to see Bachira, Isagi, Chigiri, Nagi, and Reo. "Rin I think your friends are calling you." You said with a laugh. Rin didn't know his cheeks could turn any more pink when he turned around and saw his friends also all dressed up making their way toward him.
"No way you're here! ON A DATE TOO?"
You quickly shot that down saying you were Sae's fiancé and here to hang out with Rin. Ouch. Rin's mood immediately soured upon hearing that. You two had been spending so much time together and you still saw him as Sae's brother. The two of you and the Blue Lock squad all watched the movie together with Rin's mood slowly improving by listening to your beautiful laugh.
"Hey guys let's get something to eat, we haven't seen you in so long Rin! Hanging out with (y/n) too much." Reo just wanted some juicy gossip.
You pulled Rin along ignoring his protests to go back home as you all headed for the dinner. Seeing his friends was fun, he forgot how much he actually missed Isagi and Bachira's antics as well as Reo's confidence, Nagi's laziness, and Chigiri's coolness. But mostly he was focused on the way you lit up the room with your boisterous laughter and a radiant glow that had all the males' attention on you. You had the ability to engage in conversation, make people laugh, and make people smile, something that Rin had envied but with you he admired. You looked gorgeous all dressed up in your pink baby doll dress, white stockings, and pink high-heeled boots.
Then the question came. " So how did you meet Rin and Sae? What was Rin like when he was younger."
"Oh, I met Sae through school. He was my classmate and would always annoy me to ask me what we were going in class. He was always so zoned out so he would constantly poke me with a pencil to ask. Eventually, we became friends and I met Rin, who was a cute little snotty kid." You snickered at the last bit glancing at Rin who was glaring at you right back. And then you said it. The part that would shatter Rin's heart.
"He's like a brother to me. I can wait to be in-laws when I marry Sae."
You and the guys continued talking about your relationship and your past with the Itoshi brothers while Rin wallowed in his own emotions.
Like a brother
Those words echoed through his mind. Was he not enough for you. What did Sae have that he didn't. You guys had hung out every day since Sae left, heck SAE LEFT. He LEFT YOU. But not Rin, Rin was here every day for you. He ate lunch with you, listened to your problems, comforted you when you were sad, and cooked for you when you were sick. He saw you as a beacon of his heart, a light in his dimmest days, but here you were saying you saw him as a brother? Sae had everything, a promising career, skill, fans, but most of all he had you.
But no not this time Sae would not get away with everything again.
After dinner, Rin walked you home ignoring how your hands would occasionally touch.
"Thank you for tonight Rin. It's been really fun. And thanks for always hanging out with me. You know sometimes, you remind me of Sae."
Rin was fuming at that last part, but he chose to ignore it, he had to play his cards right if he was going to win your heart.
"I'm like Sae right? But better, I think I'm honestly funnier and more handsome than Sae... but listen, do you think I could stay the night? It's pretty late and I'm a bit too tired to walk home and I have a game tomorrow afternoon."
"Oh of course you can Rin! Come come, it'll be fun like a post-movie sleepover!" You dragged him into your apartment and set down your bet running off to your room to change. You had both decided to blow up the air mattress and let Rin sleep in your room with you like you and Sae did when you were younger. Ring Ring
"Oh Sae's calling ! He must have checked into his hotel." You quickly picked up the phone to see Sae's handsome face. " Hi baby, did you just get back to your Hotel?"
"Yep I just showed and now Im resting, how was your night?"
"It was good! Me and Rin hung out to see Barbie and then we met up with his friends at the dinner and It was sooo fun who knew Rinnie had funny friends."
"You've been hanging out with Rin a lot haven't you?"
"Yeah Rin lives so close we hang out all the time and-"
"Wait who's that behind you?"
Unbeknownst to you Rin's hair and shoulder were peaking into the frame. Sae knows you and Rin hung out but he didn't know Rin was sleeping over. Sae was no fool, he knew about Rin's little crush on his darling fiancé. He couldn't miss the longing glances of the younger Itoshi and the slight blushes every time you complimented him.
Rin jumped onto the bed right behind you. You could feel his chest against your back, the heat of his breath right in your ear and his hand resting on your thigh.
"Hey Sae. Me and (y/n) are having a sleepover." You could feel your ears getting hotter with the closeness of Rin.
You loved Sae but you couldn't ignore how the teal-haired boy made your heart race sometimes. As Rin got older you began to notice him more than just "Sae's brother" he was getting taller more fit and overall handsome.
"Yeah I didn't want him to go home so late so he's sleeping over !"
"In...your bed?" "No silly, over on the air mattress."
Sae couldn't deny the anger he felt towards his brother for trying to get closer to you but also towards you for being so naive to his brother's advances. Unfortunately for Sae his next actions would drive you straight into Rin's arms.
"Well, I'm pretty tired now. Im going to go to sleep."
"What already? We haven't talked in two weeks I miss-"
"Stop annoying me and being so clingy, bye."
And with a click, Sae hung up the phone, without even saying I love you.
You stared at the phone in your hand, heart feeling heavy and eyes welling with tears. You dipped your head down to let your hair cover your face in an attempt to hide your crying from RIn. "He didn't even say I love you. He hasn't called me in weeks, he called me annoying and clingy. It feels like he doesn't even love me anymore."
Rin couldn't help but feel a little guilty at this, maybe he pushed you and Sae too far. He wanted you but not like this, he didn't want to make you cry.
Your silence turned to tears and tears turned to sobs. Rin grabbed you in his arms holding you tight in hopes to soothe you. He let you cry in his arms whispering soft nothings about how everything would be okay.
You pulled away from Rin's neck seeing the wet marks of your tears all over his shoulder. "I don't even think Sae wants to marry me anymore, he probably has someone else in Spain."
"Good."
Rin's short answer shocked you out of your emotions. You stared up at him with betrayal before he continued.
"Good because he didn't deserve you. (y/n) you deserve the world. Sae should be kissing the ground you walk on. He should never make you cry and never make you feel hurt. (y/n) I'm so sorry about Sae. He's a jerk and he's been like that since we were kids. You are the most beautiful girl I've ever met with a smile that could warm even the coldest parts of the world. You are driven, passionate and someone I wouldn't hesitate to marry. If I was the one that put that ring on your finger we would be married the next day. I wouldn't care what the wedding is like as long as I'd know your mine forever."
Rin felt his heart pounding. He had basically outed himself to you and laid his feelings on the line.
You looked up at Rin with a newfound admiration and leaned up to him. "Do you mean that? Do you mean every word?" Your eyes glistened with what Rin could only see as hope and desperation. Desperation for a love you had been missing for a while.
Rin leaned down wrapping his arm further around your waist. Your lips met as you both melted into a sweet kiss. A kiss filled with a craving for love. After a few moments, you broke apart and stared deep into each other's eyes.
"How about you take this off and we can continue," Rin said motioning to your engagement ring. You looked down at the sparkling diamond.
This was the ring Sae proposed to you with, but he was in Spain now and here you were with this last reminder of him that kept you tied down. You took off the ring and placed it in your bedside drawer. Sliding yourself back into Rin's arms and closing your eyes.
Rin smiled looking down at your sleeping form. You were finally his .

It happened before your mom got remarried. You were back from school on summer vacation, after your stepdad helped you move out for the summer. It had been the end of your freshman year.
For weeks, you tried to convince your dad to help move you out, begging him to be somewhat active in your life. He hadn’t seen you since winter break, and that was only because you had to go over to his house. Because your brother begged you to give him a shot. But this time, he refused to help you move out. You don’t go to college that far from home, but he tells you he wants to save himself the trip if you’re just going to be home a few days later.
You don’t even have to ask your stepdad. He offers.
And this is what makes it not a big deal when he buys a car decal from your campus bookstore. It has your school’s logo, and says the name of your school, with ‘Dad’ next to it. You laugh and talk your whole trip home, and it doesn’t seem that deep. I mean, your dad has neglected you for years, treating you like a toy on a shelf, and you don’t even have to ask your stepdad if you can grab a snack for the trip home.
It’s just easier for you to be around him, and he really acts the way a father should. He isn’t even married to your mom yet, and you feel this great swell of love for this man, knowing that he’d be the one to be there without hesitation.
Your brother manages to convince you to go with him to get dinner with your dad a few days into your trip. In a few days, you’ll have people over. Your extended family, your brothers’ friends, and your friends from high school.
Well, your friend. Sam can’t make it; he’s having a root canal done.
But Danny will be there. Your Danny. Being in college hadn’t been enough to push aside your crush on your best friend. You suspected the summer would probably make that even more difficult. But you hadn’t seen him in a few months, and you missed him desperately. You focus on him to get you through the dinner from hell.
Your dad picks you up from your moms, your stepdad not yet home. You sit awkwardly in the front seat, anxious for a reason you can’t quite put a finger on.
But really, dinner goes sort of well. You push through the awkwardness of it all, and it’s not that bad.
Until he pulls into your driveway to drop you off. He sees the sticker on your stepdad’s car and starts screaming at you.
You scoff, telling him you find it rich that he’s making comments about your mom’s boyfriend when he let his wife absolutely torment you and your brother for years.
Before you can blink, he grabs you by the hair and smashes your face against the dashboard. He’s still screaming at you when you come to about ten seconds later. Your brother is screaming too, telling your dad to stop, and he’s pulling you out of the car. Blood runs down your face, staining a shirt you got from Danny. It makes you start to sob as you run into your house. You hear the slamming of car doors, and your brother follows you quickly, holding your bag and sweatshirt.
Your mom swears she’ll kill him, but you keep crying. You’re too sad to be angry. But you decide right then and there, you’re done with him.
When you go to the ER, they tell you that your nose is broken. They set it back into place and bandage it up, telling you to take it easy for a few days.
When you see Danny a few days later, he’s immediately concerned.
He holds your face gently, asking you what happened. You’re tired of explaining it to everyone.
“My dad. He banged my head into a dashboard a few days ago. Broke it.” You sighed. You see him tense.
“I’ll fucking kill him.”
“You’ll have to get in line.” You tell him. You take a sip of your beer. You move on from the subject quickly, asking how he’s been, what he’s been up to. He tells you that the band he had joined with the Kiszka’s is starting to pick up. You’re thrilled for him.
It’s hard to stay away from your attraction.
The night goes by smoothly, until there’s a knock on your front door. Your mom goes to answer it, and after a few minutes, she calls you over. Your dad stands there. He has a pile of papers in his hands.
“What do you want?” You ask, putting down your drink. He looks past you. Danny leans against the doorway to the hallway. You don’t ask him to leave.
“To give you these. I’m signing over my parental rights.” He tells you. It hurts more than the broken nose. You stay quiet. Inside you, you feel the ghost of your ten-year-old self screaming for her daddy, telling him to take it back. But you take the paper, and see he’s already signed and notarized them. “It’s been a long time coming.” You laugh, biting back tears.
“Fuck you. Get out of my fucking house, I don’t want you here.” You tell him, angry now. You want to yell, because he waited until three weeks before you turned eighteen to do this. It’s an extra punch to the gut.
“No more Christmases, no more birthdays, no more support, other than what’s mandated by the court.”
“Go to hell! You were never there for any of that shit!” You tell him. He just stares. “You broke my nose, if you care.”
“I’m sorry I hurt you, but I need to do what’s best for us.”
“Have a good fucking life.” You slam the door in his face. You ignore your mom’s gaze. You ignore Danny’s. You start to cry as you walk quickly through the house, dodging your family members. You make it outside to your backyard, where sobs rack your body. Someone says your name from behind you, and you know who it is.
You let Danny hug you, hold you, as you cry.  You cry for a long time, and he stays just like that, refusing to let you go. When you finally calm down, you’re laying your head on him when you ask him a question, and it breaks his heart into a million little pieces.
“Why doesn’t he want me?”
He just hushes you softly. But, you want an answer. You demand it of him, and he gives you one.
“Because he’s a fucking moron. You’re the best, you’re kind, and gorgeous, and fucking funny. You make me laugh constantly, and for so long you’re going to date men who remind you of him, because you’ll long for his love. But he doesn’t deserve your love. And what he does… That isn’t love. One day you are going to meet someone who never questions why you don’t talk to him, and they will be his exact opposite. You deserve that type of love.” He tells you.
You just look at him for a few minutes. Maybe it’s the alcohol. Maybe it’s the pain.
You kiss him. It lasts a few moments, and he kisses back. Then he’s pulling away, mumbling no…
No?
“We can’t. You’re drunk, you’re upset. I won’t kiss you just because you’re sad. I’ll kiss you when the time is right and you’re happy. I’ll kiss you when I know we’re both ready and in love.” He tells you. You feel betrayed. You know, somewhere deep down, that he’s right. That you both deserve a first kiss that isn’t full of angst and drama.
But you’re angry. Angry at your dad. Angry at Danny. Angry at yourself. Angry at God, who you haven’t prayed to since you were nine. You pull away from him, wiping tears that remain on your face.
“I think you should go.” You say softly. He knows you don’t mean it. But he respects your wish.
“I’ll call you tomorrow.” He tells you. “Don’t be a stranger.”
He leaves, and for a second time that night, you’re crushed that a man has left you despite telling him to go.
It’s been five years since that day. You’ve graduated college, and you spend most of your days waiting for Danny to get home from the studio or from a tour.
He finally kissed you again when you graduated college, promising to never let you go ever again. Promising to never let any other shit for brains guy hurt you because you wanted to be loved. He promises to hold your hand while you put yourself back together. He never insists on doing it for you, but he always supports you.
You’ve been in therapy for a long time, and most days, you don’t think about your dad. You have your mom and stepdad. But somedays, it hurts. And it doesn’t hurt you, it hurts that same ten-year old who lives inside you.
But you ignore it. You focus on your career, your life, your boyfriend.
And one day, a few months before your brother’s wedding, he asks you to marry him. You say yes. It seems so natural; you’ve only been dating for just under two years, but you’ve been in love for as long as you can remember.
You love being engaged. You love thinking about him as your future husband. For you, there are few questions about the wedding. You’ll get married in early fall, you’ll have your mom walk you down the aisle, you’ll have red velvet cake, and Josh will sing your first dance song as well as officiate.
All these things seem very natural to you.
They’re not as easily answered as your brother. When his fiancé got pregnant right before your engagement to Danny, he began questioning whether he’d have your dad there. You couldn’t say you didn’t understand it. There were times you considered reaching out. And with a kid on the way, you knew why he would want his dad in his life again.
It doesn’t stop you from booking an emergency session with your therapist when he tells you he’s coming to the wedding.
He won’t be part of the wedding party, and he’ll have no part in any speeches or traditions. He’ll just be there to support your brother and his wife. You’ll barely notice him; Danny reassures you of this time and time again.
The wedding went well. You focus on your brother and his wife, your sister-in-law. You’re so proud of him. Danny watches you the whole time. He thinks about how you’ll look at the alter of your own wedding, and he melts a little at the thought. Your engagement ring looks lovely with the flowers your sister-in-law picked out.
During the cocktail hour, in between the reception and the ceremony, he can barely keep his hands off you. He’s pulling you out of the crowd, kissing you against the walls, telling you how pretty you are. You don’t really think about your dad.
You sneak off with him, and he takes you into a nearby empty room. An employee from the venue almost walks in on the two of you. You can’t stop laughing. You tell him you love him again and again. There’s something about someone so close to you getting married that thrills you in preparation for your own wedding.
You sit with your mom, stepdad, and your sister in law’s immediate family. Danny holds your hand as your sister-in-law’s sister makes her maid of honor speech. You make a speech too, your brother dubbing you his best man, regardless of your gender. Your sister-in-law dances with her dad. Your brother dances with your mom.
Your stepdad asks to dance with you to Goodnight My Angel, by Billy Joel. You oblige. While dancing, you tearfully ask him to dance with you to it at your own wedding. He agrees, happily. The photographer takes a photo of you during the dance.
And that’s the last time during the night that you’re truly sober, and you spend the rest of your night dancing with your mom, and with your fiancé. You love calling him that. You slow dance to your favorite songs, and that night, you decide your first dance song will be a Loggins & Messina song.
You’re getting a drink at the bar when he finally says something to you. Your father. His first words to you are as follows:
“I saw you dancing with him. To that song.” You laugh spitefully.
“With Danny? Yeah, I’m gonna dance with him, he’s my—”
“No. With your stepfather. Why would you disrespect me like that?”
“You left. You abandoned me. You wanted nothing to do with me. You have no right to comment on my relationship with my stepdad.”
He stands up to face you.
“You were disrespectful. Rude. Horrible. Out of control, I couldn’t deal with you!” You glare.
“You’re so full of shit. He was always more of a dad to me than you were.” You can tell he’s ready to hit you, but you feel a hand on your arm from behind. Your head whips to see Danny. Your shoulders slump. You’re immediately calmer. Your other hand goes up to lay on his hand, where his thumb is gently rubbing your forearm. It’s then that your father sees your engagement ring. You go to say something, but he cuts you off.
“Engaged?” You realize he didn’t know.
“Yeah. You remember Danny.” Your fiancé says nothing.
“Of course, I do. You always were in love with him.” It almost makes you smile, the way your dad remembered your crush on him. But you just as quickly remember when he called you a slut for having two boyfriends in a year. You just as quickly remember him leaving you and your brother for hours, days, at home with your stepmom who refused to let you eat any food. You just as quickly remember the pain from the broken nose, and the worse pain of him showing up at your door to sign away his parental rights.
“Yeah. I always was.” You grab your drink and take Danny’s hand properly now. “Have a good night.” You tell him, and you lead Danny away from him, leaving your father at the bar, where he was always meant to end up.
Danny says your name, asking you softly, “Are you okay?” You let out a shaky breath, taking a sip of your drink. Tears brim your eyes.
“I love you, Danny.” You tell him weakly. He can tell that that’s a no. He guides you away from the party, this time to not make love with you, but to comfort you. Tears run down your face as you lean against the wall in the hallway, feeling the thump-thump of the music from the party. He frowns and wipes your tears, shaking his head. “I thought seeing him wouldn’t hurt anymore.” You say quietly.
Sometimes the child that yearns for your father slips out. You can’t keep them inside in this moment.
“I know, baby.” He says gently. “…Do you want to talk to him more after this? Invite him to the wedding?” He isn’t coercing you, isn’t forcing you to. He’s only laying out your options.
“No.” you tell him. “I don’t need him. I’ve got you. I’ve got mom. I have Mark, and my father be damned, I have a fucking dad. Not that asshole. I have a dad, and it isn’t him.” You tell him. Danny nods.
“You have grown into an amazing young adult. I’ve been in love with you for so long, and I am so proud of you. You’ve grown so much, and you’ve made yourself a damn good life.” He tells you.
“Damn good.” You confirm, your voice breaking.
“Damn good. You’re right. He’s not your dad. Dads don’t do the things he’s done to you. He might be your father, but he isn’t your dad. And it’s okay to miss him, but you have an amazing life without him. And we’re gonna get married. And we’re never going to make his mistakes. You are nothing like him. We’ll get hitched, and have sex every night, and we’ll die in our nineties after a long life of Rock n Roll, Sex, and love. We’ll dance to Loggins and Messina at your wedding, our kids will call Patrick ‘pop’ and he’ll never have a second of your life.” He tells you. You kiss him gently, unable to form the words to tell him how much that means to you. When he stops kissing you, just for a second, he tells you, “We’ll make a new home, with just the two of us. We’ll host holidays, and you’ll never cry on Christmas again.” He tells you.
His words heal something in you. He won’t let you be hurt by your father ever again. The war is over, and now you’ll try to heal, try to move on.
Danny wipes your tears and asks you to come dance with him. You oblige. You dance through the night and focus on your future.
And it’s just as your fiancé describes. You get married. You dance to ‘A Love Song’ by Loggins and Messina, sung by your officiant, Josh.
Sam is Danny’s best man, and your brother is your maid of honor.
You dance with your stepdad to that Billy Joel song.
On Christmases, Danny kisses you under the mistletoe and holds you close.
He’s nothing but romantic and good to you.
On Father’s Day, a particularly hard holiday for you, he brings you home a cake before you go out for dinner with your mom, stepdad, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew.
It’s white, and has small hearts all over it, and in red frosting, it reads, ‘You can’t choose your father, but you can choose your daddy.’ It makes you laugh, and you ruin your hair and ruffle your clothes making love before you leave for dinner.
That night before he goes to bed, he kisses you and tells you that he loves you. That he can’t wait to live the rest of his life with you.
It takes you a long time to fall asleep, thinking about your dad, your Danny, and your stepdad. You wonder if you’ll ever have the courage to have children, out of fear of fucking them up like your dad did with you. You wonder if Danny and you really will live a long, happy, sexually vast life. You realize he is your soulmate, and that he’ll always be your husband.
You decide you’ll be alright.

“MIN YOONGI!” You burst through the door of his studio after clicking on his passcode aggressively by muscle memory. Your boyfriend turned around his studio chair, staring at you with a puzzled look.
You stood at the door, your eyes filled with angry tears with your phone in hand, showing the military notice. That was until he realised about what he was going to tell you when he comes back to your shared home.
“Oh baby-“ He quickly got up to hold you, but you pushed him away quickly. “Don’t. Touch. Me.” You hissed. Yoongi sighed, knowing that you, his ever loving girlfriend of three years would take a while to fully take it in.
He slowly got up and closed the studio door behind you. Yoongi took your hand and lead you to sit down on his studio couch. You were still silent, not until Yoongi took you into his arms as you let out your tears. “I know, jagi, I know.” He soothed you, rubbing your back in small circles. Your tears staining his grey shirt.
“You promised to tell me Yoongi. I can’t believe I found out like this.” You sobbed out. “I thought we agreed to not keep secrets from eachother.” You continued, your voice shaky.
“Baby, listen to me. Look at me.” Yoongi called out to you in a stern yet soft voice. You pulled away, looking at him with tear-stained cheeks. He looks just as hurt as you. “We talked about this, I know that. But fuck, my love I didn’t even know how to tell you that it was coming soon. I just ended my whole tour yesterday.” He explained. “You didn’t give ARMYs a whole day, Yoongs.” You argued. “You didn’t even give me a day too. I knew it was coming but Yoongi, you didn’t have to remind me.” You continued.
“I know, all these 3 years of being with you and you’ve been there with me throughout everything and I can’t thank you enough. But I’ve let my postponement go on for too long, I have to go at some point too. The sooner I go, the sooner I come back remember?” Yoongi comforts you. Trying his best to calm you down.
You nod, understanding his explanation. “I know it’s my fault for not letting you know any sooner too. I know that it’s not easy to take in.” He rubs your arms. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I’m so sorry.” Yoongi apologised while peppering kisses on your cheeks.
Memories of the couple during Yoongi’s world tour flashes through your mind. The day out in Chicago, the small holiday in Phuket and diving. Shared kisses, meals and smiles. And intimate moments during the night. It all felt like a fever dream to you.
Tears streaming down your cheeks once more, trying your best to accept that time doesn’t freeze as you wish. “I feel like it’s just yesterday since you told me that you were going on tour, Min.” You said softly, cracking a soft smile at the memory. Both of you hugging and knowing that this will be one of your biggest memories with him. “I remember going on the flight to your first concert location. You were so excited to see your fans.” You giggled as Yoongi smiled apologetically to you.
“I’ll miss them so much too, jagi.” Yoongi spoke out. “And I’ll miss you the most too.”
Yoongi leaned in to kiss you on the lips softly.
“Promise me you’ll come back, or we’re gonna have issues.” You grumbled. It made Yoongi laugh softly.
“I’ll come back. To you, to my brothers, and to ARMYs. Safely.” He reassured you as he placed another comforting kiss on your lips.
He’ll come back safely. As he promised. He is a man of his words after all.

You kissed the top of his helmet, the cold beskar familiar to your lips. You shrieked as larger hands pulled you into bed and held you tight like you were one of Grogu’s soft squishy toys. You giggled at his enthusiasm and placed the box of food you’d brought him on your side table before settling into your mandalorian’s warm embrace.
“I brought breakfast,” you said, looking up at him from his chest. “Dad made a mixed vegetable fry.” From your vantage point, you saw a patch of the beard that still made your skin burn from how he kissed you. The bulge in his neck that wobbled when he spoke. His skin… Oh his skin that was soft and rough at the same time. All things he allowed you to see despite his strict adherence to The Way.
“He cooked for me? It’s definitely poisoned,” he said, his voice deep and gravelly from sleep.
“Oh, not you too!” You chastised, slapping his beskar clad chest lightly so as to not hurt yourself. Your dad had made it clear that he did not like the man you brought home. He was charmed by Grogu, as was your mom and little brother. But on the Din front, he was strongly opposed.
“What? He’s made it clear that he hates me,” he said, shrugging it off. You sighed and agreed with him, knowing he was right. The first thing your dad had heard about him was you sobbing into his chest over your break up. Things had gotten better and the two of you were back together. But your dad’s rage only continued to grow.
“Eat, okay? I’ll be back when you're done.”
“Don’t go…please,” he said softly, his vulnerability melting you.
“You need to eat, Din,” you attempted to reason even though you knew you would eventually give in to his request. Your separation had not been easy on either of you and now that you’d found each other again, you were determined to make the best use of every minute you had together.
“I’ll eat you,” he said, hand crawling up your thigh and sending shivers all over your body that made every hair on your arm stand up. “Your dad made you too and you’re definitely my favorite out of his creations.”
“Din!” You squealed, somehow shocked by his brazenness though all he had been throughout your relationship was brazen. A giggle escape you unconsciously but turned into an unattractive snort, making you bury your face in his chest.
“I need to have you, sweet girl,” he said as he explored your body. “I’m starving.”
“You had me last night, you sex fiend!”
“So?” He asked, head tilted. “Want you everyday. Twice. At the very least.”
“You won't have time for anything else,” you said, reasoning him out of his sweet delusions.
“That’s alright by me…” he trailed before removing his hands from you abruptly. You whined at the loss of contact even though you’d been the one who was trying to get him to eat so he would leave you to go eat with your family.
“Close your eyes,” he said, and you followed, eyes shutting out the world at his command as they’d become accustomed to do. It was a familiar one. You knew what came after. Shuffling, heavy metal against a surface— wood, your side table.
“Blindfold me,” You said, elated that he trusted you this way, yet doubting yourself. What if your curiosity got the better of you and you looked? What if you opened your eyes accidentally? You were never in control of your senses when you were drowning in his passion.
He returned with a piece of cloth, presumably from your wardrobe if you had to guess from his footsteps. He wrapped it around you, covering your eyes, and tied a knot in the back.
His lips found you and you kissed him back eagerly, searching his lips for your love, for the soft heart behind the hard beskar. He did not disappoint, pouring his passion into you, electrifying a part of you that you’d never felt before with anyone else. With the kiss, the insecurities of the past few hours melted away. It did not matter that you’d separated once. You found each other again. It did not matter that your dad did not like him. He would come to like him soon. It did not matter that he would be off-world to rebuild Mandalore and you would be right here, on your planet, far away from him.
Nothing mattered except the present. And at present, you were in bliss.

Mike Schmidt x Reader (Part 1)
a/n: ... i will not be explaining why I was gone for so long but thank you to those who stuck around even tho I was on an unannounced hiatus. i will try to get to what's in my inbox but at the moment, I'm finishing up my first semester of this year and my finals are literally in two days adkjhewiasdfkj
c/w: all hurt no comfort :), breakups, cursing, fighting, abby's got trauma from her parents being gone so this is rly sad for her-, there's blood in one part, there's sickness in one part, I forgot what nights had what happen but hey it doesn't rly matter all that much-
Out of all the babysitters Abby had had in her life, you were her favorite. You tried to connect with her and supported her when she needed it. You also got along well with Mike, which was a bonus.
It wasn’t until a few months after the first time you and Abby met that you and Mike formed a romantic relationship. You truly loved him, and he was infatuated with you. It was you three against the world, like a little family. More so than it already was with the two siblings.
Abby enjoyed having you around all the time, instead of just when she needed a babysitter. You acted like her mom, which filled the hole in her heart that had formed when both of her parents had died. Mike did his best to be a good guardian for her, but you just felt like a mom. She thought you and Mike would get married right away from how much you loved each other. For being ten years old, she was observant.
Everything came crashing down when you and Mike had called her into the living room for a conversation. Those weren’t ever good, so she was apprehensive. She swore she could hear her heart shattering when you said, ' We’re breaking up.’ What? Why would you guys do that? You were supposed to be together forever, that’s what Mike had said! You two had promised to love her forever!
“It’s the best decision for what’s going on right now, Abby,” Mike had tried to soften the blow of this news, but it was futile. Abby felt like she had been stabbed in the back, that much was apparent.
Abby had stood up and glared at her older brother. “No! You- you’re supposed to be together forever! You promised! You-” she sputtered, trying to think of something else to say. Her emotions took over and she said something she never meant. “I hate you!” She shouted and ran to her room, slamming the door behind her. You could still see the look of betrayal engraved on her face, and the look of shock and guilt on Mike’s.
Once that bedroom door was closed, Abby pounced on her bed and wrapped her blankets around her figure as tight as possible. The tears came quickly and plenty, falling onto her shirt, pillow, and stuffed animal that she had practically glued to her chest. How could you do this to her? She had already lost both her parents, she had no friends (well, save for the ones only she could see), and- and you both had promised!! That had been her main issue: you two had promised to be with her forever. Now you and Mike weren’t going to want to talk to each other, and you were going to leave, and you weren’t going to want to babysit her anymore, and she was going to lose her favorite babysitter, and- and-
She could hardly breathe with how much she had been crying. Her throat and chest hurt, but the sobs wouldn’t cease. She had laid there, curled up under her covers, with hot, angry tears staining her youthful cheeks, for what felt like hours. Maybe it had been hours, she couldn’t tell. Time didn’t matter to her. All that mattered was that she hated Mike a lot at that moment. A lot a lot.
You and Mike, still sitting in the living room, glanced over at each other. There was guilt present in both of you, but neither one of you said anything. What was there to be said? It wasn’t going to work out at this moment in time was what you had said. “...I’m… gonna call that guy back. For the night job.” Mike had broken the tension-filled silence, albeit awkwardly. He looked over at you hesitantly. “Would you still be able to watch Abby?” he had braced himself for your answer. No, why would I watch my ex’s sister? I never want to see you again, was what he had convinced himself you would’ve said. You had to have hated him. He had broken up with you… right? Or was it you who had brought it up? Maybe it was mutual? He didn’t know.
“Yeah,” you had given him a small nod. “I can still watch her.”
That was three weeks ago. It had taken a little while for all the paperwork to get done, but now, Mike was employed as a nightguard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. It didn’t pay well, and the hours were shit, but it was something.
You came over almost every night to watch Abby, a smile plastered on your face every time you saw her. Although she had recovered from the breakup announcement, it had put a dent in your guys’ relationship. She spent all her time in her room, drawing and talking to her imaginary friends. This behavior, although previously normal, was becoming alarming, as it was never this frequent. You had tried everything to get her to talk to you: starting conversations, waiting for her to come to you, bribery, et cetera. Nothing worked.
It was about eleven PM when you got to the Schmidt household, your overnight bag slung over your shoulder. You, per usual, opened the door and called out for the young girl. “Abby, I’m here!” You weren’t surprised to see her sitting at the kitchen table, coloring, and not giving you as much as a side glance.
Mike was dressed in his uniform, his vest fitting on his body perfectly. You had always admired how he was able to look good in anything he wore. He could’ve worn a pink onesie and you still would’ve thought he was hot. But you couldn’t tell him that, not anymore, now that you were broken up. Honestly, you thought about asking him if he was open to getting back together. But, then again, what would he even say to that? And even more mind-boggling was thinking about what Abby would say. She already felt betrayed enough- she would probably break down if Mike agreed to get back together.
“(Y/N), hey. Abby needs to be put down for bed, but she won’t listen to me. Think you can handle her?” Mike asked with a small smirk tugging on his lips.
You set your bag down on the floor by the door and walked into the dining room, right behind the young girl. “Hi, sweetpea. Whatcha’ drawing?” You placed a hand on her shoulder and smiled at the surprisingly detailed artwork she had created.
“My friends.” She said monotonously, not even looking up to glance at you. You had become accustomed to this sort of treatment by now, and while it hurt that your smiley girl no longer smiled so brightly, you knew there was nothing you could do to revert her.
She was obviously in the middle of the drawing, with you and Mike on each side of her. In previous pieces, you two had been side-by-side, holding hands and smiling. That was no longer the case. On Mike’s side, there were two other children: one with long blonde hair and one with short dark-brown- maybe black- hair. On your side, there were two more children: one with short blond hair and one with auburn hair. All the children were smiling, while you and Mike had blank expressions.
“Good to know I’m your friend, Abs.” You tried to joke with her, rubbing her shoulder as you spoke, but that seemed to have no effect. When you realized nothing you were doing was going to get her to talk to you more, you sighed. “Abby, it’s time for bed. It’s past eleven.”
Abby looked up, finally, and frowned. “I don’t want to go to bed. I’m not tired.”
“This isn’t up for debate, love. Bedtime, now. I’ll help you pick out some pajamas while you go brush your teeth.” Your voice wasn’t stern, more calm yet still authoritative. She must’ve realized you weren’t playing around, and with a dramatic huff, she left the table to go to the bathroom. Once she was out of earshot, you sighed and rubbed your face.
“She listens to you so much more than me,” Mike commented, adjusting the collar of his shirt. You glanced up at him and nodded, watching out of your peripherals as he leaned against the kitchen table beside you. An awkward silence bloomed in the already tension-filled air as you both stared ahead, watching the other out of the corner of your eyes.
Finally, you spoke. “This is, what, your fourth night, right?”
“Mhm.”
“Okay. Just making sure.” A partial lie, but he wouldn’t notice. You mostly just wanted to hear his voice again. As always, it was perfect, like the rest of him.
Upsettingly so, he saw right through you. Even worse was that he said nothing on the matter. He stood there, staring ahead just like you, not saying a word. The only sounds in the entire house were the sounds of you two breathing, the sink in the bathroom running (presumably from Abby brushing her teeth), and the soft hum of the air conditioning running through the home.
Mike was the first to move from this position, claiming he had to get going to work. It was disappointing that he couldn’t stay longer to talk, but you didn’t fight him on it.
“I’m gonna go help Abby. Stay safe.” You announced. Mike had never told you about what went on at the Pizzaria, so it made him do a double-take when you told him to stay safe. He stared at you momentarily before nodding and heading towards the door. And with that, it was just you and Abby.
You walked into Abby’s room and looked for some pajamas for her to wear. Sure, she was ten years old and perfectly capable of picking out her clothes, but it was something you had offered to do when you first started seeing her, and she never opposed the action. You finally settled on a pale pink t-shirt and some fuzzy pajama pants with little pumpkins on them. You laid them out on the bed and left the room, waiting for her to go in and change so that you could tuck her in for the night.
Once she called for you, albeit begrudgingly (she’s convinced she doesn’t even need a babysitter anymore), you went in and found her already under her covers, her stuffed animals crowded around her. You smiled and were reminded of simpler times when she would beg and beg you and Mike to read her just one more story or have you sing one more song because although those times are probably long gone, the memories are still embedded in your head. You tucked her in and kissed her forehead, smoothing her hair back before whispering goodnight to her. Thankfully, she whispered the same.
You left the room and went to sit down on the couch. Once your body hit the leather, you immediately sighed heavily and brought your hands to your head, rubbing your temples as though you had a headache. In reality, you were just tired. And maybe stressed. Scratch that, you were feeling a lot of both.
You wanted your family back; the family you had formed with Mike and Abby. You wanted to call him and tell him you still loved him and that you prayed he felt the same. You wanted to sing a million lullabies to Abby every night and tell her every bedtime story imaginable. You wanted that comfort back. But it seemed as though that wouldn’t be happening any time soon.
Sometime in the middle of the night, you woke up to the sound of knocking on the door. You had fallen asleep and groggily looked over to the clock on the wall, reading that it was four in the morning. You woke up immediately, not knowing if someone was trying to break into the house. You grabbed the nearest object, a broken table lamp (in retrospect, you should’ve run to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, not a fucking table lamp), and cautiously made your way to the front door. You took a deep breath and braced yourself before throwing the door open.
There stood an injured Mike and a blonde woman whom you had never seen before. Your defensive instincts fell, and they were replaced by fear for Mike, and jealousy, because who was this woman? And why was she so goddamn pretty? No, why was Mike hurt? Was he bleeding?!
“Michael Schmidt, what the hell happened?!” You practically yanked the two inside the house and immediately sat Mike down on the couch, looking him over. Your eyes darted from wound to wound as your mind raced with possibilities for what caused this.
He let out a shaky breath, as he was in excruciating pain. “Looks like I didn’t listen to you…” he chuckled, but it stopped once he realized you were glaring at him.
“What? Mike, I’m serious. What happened?” Your gaze moved from him to the mystery woman, who you realized was wearing a police uniform. “What the hell happened to him?” You demanded, your voice dropping.
The woman was quick to assure you that she was not the cause of Mike’s injuries. “Calm down. I can explain everything if you just sit down and let me talk.” She sounded so calm, and that fact pissed you off. How could she be so nonchalant about this?!
“(Y/N). Please.” Mike placed a bandaged hand atop yours, which had been holding onto his shirt sleeve. The action caught you off guard. It made your eyes widen as you realized how desperate he was.
You gulped and nodded your head. You sat down beside Mike, your legs brushing together, as you looked up at the mystery woman. “You’ve got five minutes.
Surprisingly, the blonde was able to explain a lot in five minutes. For starters, her name was Vanessa. She was a police officer, which was a job you considered in the same genre as Mike’s position as a security guard. She was rather vague about it, but what you got from it was that the pizzeria was a hotspot for kids in the eighties, especially for birthday parties. Once kids started disappearing, and the animatronics started acting ‘off’, the place was shut down. The owner never tore it down, supposedly for its ‘sentimental value’. The reason Mike was hurt, was because the animatronics had attacked him. That made your blood run cold.
“So you’re telling me that Mike has been risking his life these past four nights? For shitty wages?” You turned your head away from Vanessa and Mike and stared ahead at the wall. Did Mike know all this beforehand? Was he planning on keeping this from you, or would he have told you eventually? What would Abby think if she found out her brother got hurt, or worse, died?
You hadn’t realized it, but you began to quiver. You rocked yourself back and forth ever so slightly, your arms wrapped around your body, and your lower lip lodged between your teeth. Mike tried to reach his hand out to place on your shoulder, to comfort you, but you immediately recoiled. He looked more surprised than anything, but there was a hint of hurt there too.
“This is only the second time this has happened, (Y/N), I swear-”
“The second time out of four days of working there?!” Your voice raised but quickly lowered again when you realized where you were. “Mike, please, find another job. We can’t-” You stopped yourself from making a statement that made it seem like you were still a family. You caught yourself, changing up your word choice. “Abby can’t lose you.” Your voice was down to a whisper now, and you looked truly hurt that Mike kept this from you.
Vanessa stayed quiet and backed up a few steps to give you both some space.
You rubbed your eyes in both exhaustion and frustration. You couldn’t even look Mike in the eyes right now.
Mike tried again to calm you, opting to put his hand on your knee. This time, you didn’t push him away. “I’ll be careful. Promise.”
Finally, you glanced over at him. “You better fucking keep it. Because if you die…” You couldn’t even finish that sentence.
“I won’t.” His smile was infectious, and you couldn’t help but fall in love all over again.
You really should’ve just risked getting Abby sick, rather than stay home one night. You had come down with strep throat, and it just so happened that the last day you had it was when you needed to babysit Abby. You called Mike to explain the situation, and although he was a little frustrated because he couldn’t get another babysitter, he assured you that it was not your fault. And so you went about your day, laying in bed, watching TV, eating soup, really just doing anything you could to keep your mind off the guilt you felt.
By the time night rolled around, you were out cold. You had taken some medicine a little bit before bed, and the ‘helps with insomnia’ benefit listed on the bottle was not a lie. You were so deep in REM that you almost didn’t wake up to your phone ringing on the bedside table. Thankfully, you did. The caller ID read ‘Mike Schmidt’, and you picked up the phone, putting it up to your ear.
If you weren’t awake yet, you certainly would’ve been after he started talking. You were still a bit drowsy, and Mike’s words were partially intelligible, but the words you could make out were ‘couldn’t replace’, ‘animatronics’, ‘Vanessa’, ‘Abby’, ‘electrical discharge’, and ‘hurt’. You managed to form your theory as to what had happened, and boy did that wake you up. You shot out of bed and tugged a pair of socks on before slipping on your shoes, not even bothering to tie them. You were about to tell Mike not to hang up, but then he did.
You drove there in record time, probably going over the speed limit, but that didn’t matter. Abby was hurt. Your theory was that Mike couldn’t get someone to watch Abby in time, and so he took her to the pizzeria. That alone was enough for you to feel angry, but you were furious to know that Abby got hurt. Electrical discharges are no joke, and you needed to see her to at least look her over and decide if she was okay. Maternal instincts die hard, you guessed.
You practically broke the door by opening it so quickly. Abby and Mike were sitting on the couch. When she saw you, her face sort of glowed like it used to. She ran up to hug you, and you bent down and caught her in your arms. You swayed her back and forth, rubbing her back and combing through her hair as you whispered inaudible ‘thank you’s to God. She was okay by the looks of it.
When you let go of her, you immediately stared at Mike with the angriest expression you had ever had. He looked sad and guilty. But also sort of numb. Like he’s been through this before. Like he knew this was how it would end. This was how it ended with everyone.
“Abby, go get in bed,” Your voice was stern but softer than your expression.
“But-”
“Now.”
She looked like a kicked puppy when you ordered her away, but she did as you demanded, and slinked away into her bedroom, closing the door.
“(Y/N), I can explain-”
You laughed, but it wasn’t out of humor. It was dry, and he could tell you were pissed. Pissed couldn’t even describe how livid you were with this beautiful, beautiful man.
“You better have a good excuse as to why Abby got hurt, and why you took her to the pizzeria in the first place, knowing it was dangerous.”
Mike had never heard your voice sound this venomous, and it worried him. He was used to everyone looking at him with such disdain, but not you. He had never seen your soft face and gentle smile look like this. “...You’re right. There is no excuse. …I’m sorry.”
“Don’t say that to me. Say that to your little sister, who you’re supposed to protect. I thought you didn’t want to live up to your aunt’s opinion of you.” The moment those words left your lips, you immediately regretted it. That was a low blow, even if you were upset.
Mike’s lip quivered, and he visibly stepped back. “I’m- I’m don’t. I don’t want to live up to that. But if that’s really what you think of me…” His voice trailed off, leaving you two in silence. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. And although he tried to hide it, you could see the tears in his eyes. It was rare that Mike cried, and even more scarce when you witnessed it. You couldn’t bear to see him anymore; you had to get out of there.
And so you did. You left without saying another word. You didn’t even say goodbye to Abby, who would’ve very much appreciated someone coming to check on her. Although you thought she had closed her door, she only pulled it to. She heard every single word exchanged between you and her older brother. She was scared. Scared that you and Mike may never get back together. Scared that Mike wouldn’t be nice anymore. Petrified that she would never see you again. And she didn’t know how to feel about that. She curled up in her bed, pulled the covers over her head, and sobbed until her throat burned and she felt like her lungs were going to fall out. It was all her fault.
