like there is definitely an argument to be made about the lukewarm politics of the last few years (kerblam unfortunately springs to mind) but they did a whole ass episode on rosa parks. 13 was tried as a witch. ryan was racially abused and yaz referred to racial abuse she received in the modern day. there was an episode about the partition. climate change. your opinion on these episodes aside (i don’t necessarily love them all) they exist, and saying otherwise is just genuinely quite thick of you, sorry hun

disclaimer written by the OP: You should never try to help your snake shedding if you don’t know what you’re doing or do it prematurely. I am helping the snake because it had messed up part of its shedding while going through the branches in the enclosure, so I made sure everything comes out in one piece. The snake isn’t getting harmed in any way, and the skin was more than ready to come off; you can see the snake contracting its muscles, unbothered, pulling itself out of the skin.

"pickle wanted to date taco" i don't think you really. understand pickle as a character. the whole thing with him and taco is that he just wanted a friend and very very deeply cared about her despite taco not being the best person to him on s1. pickles character revolves around his friendships and people meaning the world to him (platonically).

if anything taco is the one who wanted him. i'm sorry but people loveeee to make pickle as the one who's not over her (and her as the one who doesn't see him like that) meanwhile uh. he was hurt. i'm sorry but did all of you forget that taco was the one who left him. she was straight up the one who left him on the ii finale and she told him that it was never real between them and that he was an idiot. he didn't go and look for her, TACO was the one who didn't let go of him.

meanwhile taco was pretty much harassing him for years with the letters even if it was very obvious that pickle didn't want to do anything with her. and don't try to justify her because that's literally what she did. she's not over pickle and he's the only guy she cares about genuinely (aside from mepad), meanwhile pickle, has moved on after so long thanks to knife's advice and finally allowed himself to make friends after a long time. it's still difficult but he has.

i think this comes from the fandoms inability to understand men's mental health (and treating them as less than human, only caring for them for shipping or yaoi) and the woobification of taco (people are treating her as someone who just can't do no wrong and that she is just a poor poor victim when that's not the case (she was one of the main antagonists and took pride on being awful, God forbid if you try to depict taco as a bad person when she literally still is)((even if you bring up the code for this argument, taco's damage is still pretty real regardless. just because you were coded it doesn't mean that all of your actions are immediately forgiven. you have to work on yourself to break out of that. and yes the movie did a horrible job at trying to change taco on this))

my point is. that i don't think any of you actually see pickle outside of his relationship with taco when he's one of the characters with the most interesting friendships and growth. he could not care any less about taco nor does he want her back, but taco desperately needs him. did he love her as a friend years ago? sure, but that's because she was his friend. he was more than in the right to be upset with her and whenever anyone says that he had to forgive her, that's just. straight up ignoring his trauma regarding her. this has also happened with mic but the movie did ruin that already so like. whatever.

after watching several povs, there's something so striking about the way mumbo died.

he dies at home, first of all, which is notable in its own right because so much of his time was spent running about, usually in pursuit of kills. he dies with grian, too— to a thing grian created, no less, but it isn't actually grian's fault for once.

mumbo dies in that tall tower and when lightning strikes, from all across the server, everyone looks. their eyes land on that tower, and everyone is watching. even in grian's perspective, you can see everyone at renwood mound, lined up and staring. those at the bamlands looked on too.

they didn't see mumbo die, but they saw grian's grief. grian, who, throughout this season, has seemed cruel and untouchable to those outside of his circle due to his involvement with and knowledge of the wild cards. they watch grian immediately crumble under the weight of mumbo's death; several of them even explicitly comment, "look at grian, he's grieving, he's in mourning."

i like to think that, until that moment, grian was almost god-like in their minds; now, though, he's the quintessential concept of humanity. grief can be religious if you do it right, after all. even beyond the grian aspect though, isn't this just the most despairing omen of what's to come?

i mean, there's something about this image of a man fallen from grace, crying out as he holds the mangled corpse of his friend in the home they made together, high in the sky, on display for all the world to bear witness to. and the world did bear witness, be it with pity, horror, joy... it doesn't matter, because they saw.

the canary curse has been broken, but this was a fittingly foreboding, tone-setting image that did a stunning job filling its shoes
