today was a good day, i had my first meeting for my internship, which went really well! i accomplished everything on my list, went to the gym, ate healthy, made a japanese study plan, and overall was very productive !

tomorrow i have an advising meeting for the classes i’ll take in japan, and thats all i really have on my schedule. im still waiting to hear back from the restaurant!

Le premier jour! • 100 jours de Français!

Salut tout le monde! Je m'appelle Ryan Aaron et je commence ce défi aujourd'hui. J’espère pouvoir relever ce défi sans échouer. Mon français n'est pas génial parce que je ne l'ai pas pratiqué. MAIS! Je vais essayer!

J'ai étudié le français au lycée... et, euhhhhh... j'ai vingt ans et je suis à l’université.... oups? Je m'en souviens d'une partie, spécifiquement le grammaire, c'est juste de la vocabulaire que je n'ai pas. Même j'écris ça, c'est difficile.

Si j'ai des erreurs, dis-moi, s'il vous plaît! j'apprends encore. Merci beaucoup!

Faire du sport (je me suis accroupi, j'ai fait le banc de presse, j'ai fais du jogging.)

My brain does not really wanna brain... Well, again, haha. And also, my back is hurting again. Dammit xD

But also, I've tried this app, Polygloss, and I haven't had this much fun with German in a while! At first I was thinking to use it for exam preparation, and it's not really good for that... But it is so much fun, that's really don't mind!~

Anyway, did the homework and a few lessons in Babbel. Soo tired (⁠´⁠-⁠﹏⁠-⁠`⁠；⁠)

I started reading a book about journalism, ran seven kilometers (this is a long distance for me), finished writing a chapter of my book and continued reading the book in Polish.

In the evening I want to finish reading the chapter of the marine insurance textbook, because today I have not done anything related to my work yet.

I think the day went great.

I am looking to recruit participants for this 45-minute interview.

Minority languages are spoken by less than 50% of the population or ones that are only rarely represented in your current region or region of heritage. Famous examples of minority languages include:

okay so i thought it might actually be the time for me to start moving towards my goals so i want to start the 100dop challenge after all!

i really really hope i won’t give up on this tumblr blog during the time but who knows… anyway, today is day zero for me! i’m going to line out some of my goals in my journal and prepare to be productive tomorrow

a reminder for myself and anyone who might need this:

and now that i’ve set that boundary, i’m ready to take on this challenge. wish me luck!!

i got a lot of stuff done today, so now i have the weekend to relax! and by relax, i mean prepare for my physics class and review for the class i'm proctoring in the fall 😅 i genuinely enjoy studying when time isn't a serious issue, so it'll be a weekend well spent. i was also able to sit down and review both korean and chinese vocab—go me! i forgot how much enjoyment i get out of learning languages. great day overall 🤩

day 1/60 ೃ࿔*:･

today was day 1 of my 60 day challenge, and im feeling good!

technically yesterday was supposed to be day one, but i just wasn’t really satisfied with it as day one for some reason. i half-asses everything and didnt even read, so i started over today. i started my morning with some reading, since for some reason i dread reading at night.

i had a job interview at a restaurant, so i can save some extra money for japan. i have an internship this semester, but i need a side gig to save money. i think the interview went well!

i went to the bank, deposited money, went to the gym, and then got some groceries with my friend. i also picked up the cake, since its my ex boyfriend’s birthday. he passed away two years ago, but i still celebrate for him.

i did some laundry and picked up my room to prepare for tomorrow. tomorrow is the first day of classes, and even though im not in classes this semester, my internship is through a program at my school so it also starts tomorrow! i have miscellaneous meetings wed-fri, and hope to get at least one hour of japanese studying in every day.

I’m thinking about doing 100 days of productivity to get myself up and back on track. Since I’m not a college student anymore this will not only be study themed. To accommodate my mental problems I came up with a layout / rule set, so I have a frame work to work with.

So basically I wanna do it like this:

Ah, there it is, the downside of a semi-set routine - I have almost nothing new to photograph, since it looks almost identical to the old photos, haha!

Well, anyway, I've set myself a bit clearer goal: among other things, to finish my b1 course at Babbel before my exam. I have about 80 days to do it….. and I'm not even halfway through A2. Guess I have a long road ahead of me, huh.

So, turns out that the Goethe Institut course includes predetermined flashcards. It was very useful and it saved me a lot of time. However I think I need to have an Anki deck eventually cause I need to get reminders for spaced repetition. Everything is going well so far, I’m in the first couple of lessons but I haven’t found it to be that difficult yet. But I’m aware that eventually more challenges are yet to come. Bis Morgen!
