They team up alongside Tim as they navigate the magically altered world of Bedlam. Many key moments include how they work together and their endless banter. This is also their inspiration for starting Young Justice. 

Young Justice (1998)

Almost every single issue they are present together will have some GREAT chemistry and moments showing their friendship, but the following stick out for the listed reasons. Issue #1 - The first issue, Kon protects Bart from being shot along with lots of banter that sets the tone between them for the rest of the series. Issue #7 - Bart and Kon banter during their Camping trip, highlights include Kon complimenting Bart’s hair and enthusiastically encouraging him for chasing off hunters with Secret. Issue #9 - Bart and Kon play chess together, showing that when there are downtimes in Young Justice they play games with each other. Issue #22 - Bart tries to help Kon get his powers back with comical results. (Note: this may be THAD but because publication time is not linear to comic in-world time, this is unconfirmed and it must be assumed that this is Bart.) Issue #31 - Bart tries desperately to get Kon to hang out with him, Kon is too busy watching TV. Issue #33 - Kon reaches out to Bart to have a hypothetical conversation but sadly did not compensate for Bart’s autism taking him literally. Issue #45 - Bart and Kon talk about comics and make sandwiches together. Issue #53 - Bart and Kon play Random Trivia, a game exclusive to them. 

Young Justice: No Man’s Land

Lots of banter and chemistry as they convince Tim to go to Gotham against Batman’s orders. Kon gives Bart his jacket for safekeeping. 

Young Justice #1000000

It’s the 853rd century and although Young Justice is no more, a new version of Impulse and Superboy are just as close as their original selves.  Impulse (1995)

Issue #47 - Bart seeks Kon out to ask him about the worrying behavior Superman is displaying. Issue #77 - Bart’s clone is killed on Apokolips in front of Kon - this is a catalyst to Kon’s many issues of depression. Issue #78 - Bart says goodbye to Kon when he quits Young Justice due to PTSD, Kon pets his head. 

Superboy (1994) 

Issue #83 - Bart tries to help Kon get his swagger back, even to the point of obtaining the Backstreet Boys chemical breakdowns bc he cannot see Kon like this. 

Issue #90 - Kon has a soft moment with Cherub who he is attracted to, it is revealed that Cherub is a clone of BOTH Tana and Bart. Issue #91 - The aftermath of Bart’s clone dying on Apokolips pt.1 - Kon reveals he feels it’s all his fault and has resigned that while Bart is in a coma, he is going to die. 

Issue #92 - The aftermath of Bart’s clone dying on Apokolips pt.2 - Once back home on the Kent farm Kon, obsesses over Bart’s “death” and current coma to the point of exhaustion and sleeps for 20 hours. Highlights include Bart implying he is wearing a Playboy Bunny outfit, and that Kon has subconscious bi-sexual feelings towards Bart. Issue #99 - Bart as Kid Flash risks death to save a de-powered Kon during the World Without Young Justice arc.

Teen Titans (2003)

Same as with Young Justice, there are a lot of interactions that show they are friends and have a long-standing dynamic even though Geoff re-worked both of their characters into entirely new people. The following are moments when they are alone and show blatant friendship. Issue #25 - Bart tries to get through to Kon during his possession, and refuses to fight him. Issue #82 - Kon protects Bart from Holocaust’s blast, then Bart beats the hell out of Holocaust for barely tapping Kon. Issue #83 - Kon seeks Bart out and talks about his relationship with Cassie. Issue #88 - A quiet moment between Bart and Kon as Bart reveals he is forgetting the future they were resurrected in. Issue #90 - Bart and Kon play pingpong, once again showing that they like to play games together.

Infinite Crisis

Issue #7 - Bart goes ballistic on Superboy Prime after he kills Kon. 

Countdown #43

Bart’s funeral and he speaks directly to Kon, sadly Kon never got to hear it because he was dead at the time as well. Final Crisis Legion of Three Worlds

Issues #4-#5 - Bart and Kon reunite and are resurrected together after dying.

Superboy (2011)

Issue #3 - Kon reaches out to Bart to propose a charity Race to benefit the Smallville community. Bart agrees. Issue #5 - Bart and Kon race and take time to catch up and talk.

finally finished episode 1 (and 0, before that, before you ask) of Of The Devil and as a certified american, internet user, acting (and game development) student, i felt it imperative to share my opinion of this project. im writing this at 4 am and while half-tipsy so if you see typos, no you dont.

the following includes significant spoilers for both episodes 0 and 1 of Of The Devil so if you havent played it, you might want to Not read this!

im just gonna go ahead and start with what i think overall: THIS IS A REALLY GOOD FUCKING GAME. Like, REALLY REALLY GOOD. Like, I enjoyed this more than many of my attempts and experiences to play some of its inspirations (re: ace attorney, danganronpa) which is NOT me hating those inspirations; i am saying the innovations and unique creative decisions made to set Of The Devil apart from other titles in the murder mystery genre of games has made it what i love about it.

starting with general Things I Love:

Character Writing: name one boring character in this game. (spoiler alert: impossible!) this game has mastered an art of bringing charm and whimsy to a variety of characters who vary in age, design, occupation, relation to one another--without a single stale mark among any of them. every character is multi-dimensional. yes, emma is a perpetually tired nerd, but also yes, she is a ruthless, meticulous, prompt, dedicated lawyer who has a repeated record of having beat morgan in trial several times over, and will come running at 4 am to work.

yes, morgan is a hard-ass. also yes, she is a murderer. also yes, she is a criminal defense attorney. also yes, she is the most trusted ally of david ashur--a world-renowned programmer--and has killed on his behalf before without remotely being asked to do so. yes, she has taken serra under her wing and hired her. yes, she refers to serra as it and questions serra's independent thought on several occasions. yes, she begins to accept serra's opinions, quips, and muses more, and in her mind, refers to her as spearmint (out of endearment? teasing?). hell, yes, she chooses to even keep serra in her life after opening the episode 1 case with saying once she'd fulfilled this debt to serra (and david), she couldn't care less how serra fucked off afterwards.

tl;dr: the characters feel human. even the not-human ones. and they cover a variety of personalities and dynamics that clash and harmonize in lovely ways. Dialogue Writing: insane banter, bouncing off one another, fun puns and jokes and quips to specific characters. highlighted even further by the lovely portraits that change through conversation. ISAT and OTD prove: 2D character portraits can really do it all, and beautifully portray emotion in games with no emotional vocality (voice-acting, chat,) to support them. would make a good fandub. (i know there is a jelloapocalypse one, but as an acting student, i could see this as a fun challenge myself too if i can gather a couple more friends...) The Mysteries and Puzzles: did you play the game? the mirror-bit of episode 0? the synatonin-poisoned water, kept in the body for hours, becoming deadly when mixed with alcohol, gagged back up with salt-and-water concoction to get away with a murder-designed-as-a-suicide-turned-into-murder-against-an-innocent-party? cause that was very fucking clever.

Music: banger. nothing more to say here. the greatness of the soundtrack speaks for itself.

Character Designs, Art Style, and Visual Choices:

art style: 1000000/10. speaks for itself. same with character design choices, a fine diversity of heights, complexions, ages among the cast, etc. i suppose i would like to see more black and afro-featured characters moving forward as isaac was really the only one thus far, but given how small the cast is, this isn't an awful ratio for now.

i wanna talk about the visual/cinematic decisions. i want to talk about the way we cut to type-writer font and text and cut to panels of what looks like it was ripped right out of the script; you know, the solid-colored, semi-static background stills? where the character name and dialogue line sit in the middle, in the top left corner, you'll find the location of the current scene, and at the bottom, the line number, like we're looking at the actual script on paper? i love those. they create a nice change of pace and highlight of satirical and interesting moments in conversation. same with the multi-colored text, italicized text choices, and the other cuts--where some lines would cut to a grey, new camera angle in another part of the room, with the dialogue in red at the bottom for some of the most soul-chilling realizations of the narrative? W choices.

Plot Twists and Surprising Additions: okay so actually playing episode 0 i joked it would be really fucking funny if morgan were the heartbreak killer fresh after clearing carlos' name and you can only imagine the look on my face when i clicked into the next panel to immediately see morgan in the doorway with a smoking gun in hand.

it seems like such a simple idea for a twist; let's make the criminal defense attorney, whose entire career has been responsibilities along the lines of clearing people of murder, a flat-out murderer. let's say SHE is the murderer responsible for the death of a victim whose case she is assigned to, to prove someone else's innocence for it. she goes in with full confidence KNOWING she is the one who pulled the trigger, and as such, the evidence to support carlos' innocence should be there somewhere. all while using her arguments (smell of gunpowder, for example) as ways to keep herself separated from suspicion (light a cigarette inside the interrogation room so that the smell of gunpowder potentially on her is overwritten with the cigarette scent). and then reveal those supposedly six people she's shot in the heart? yeah, they are FAR from her first victims. very far. even david's stalker was, at minimum, her 20th, maybe 30th, maybe 40th kill; she's too precise, too meticulous, too... comfortable and satisfied doing it. it cant be new. cant be a fluke hobby. its something she is consistently finding satisfaction within, almost therapeutically. why???? (let's find out.)

anyways. we WILL be tuning into episode 2. we WILL be buying any merch on the horizon, and we WILL be checking out the ao3 scene (and perhaps contributing to it...?)

Hi, I'm looking at the signups and I have a question about what qualifies as 'woman' in this instance. It's noted that "Trans and NB characters, can be included, so long as they’re either canon trans/nb or a canon cis woman character you headcanon as trans or nonbinary" in the FAQ, and this leaves out our MTF sisters as well as FTM with canonically male characters. I have friends, colleagues and students who all fall under that category...why are they excluded here?

.......trans women are included ?? ??? That's what we mean by "trans and NB (nonbinary) characters" in that context. Not that you can't include them at all. I've updated the FAQ to be more explicit about that context since it seems there's some confusion.

To clarify further, however:

Canon Trans women and nonbinary characters*** are eligible as part of the main ships participants can write about for the challenge. Any canonical men (cis or trans men) are not eligible, including any genderswap/rule 63 content to make a het or slash ship femslash (see here for clarification).

To again, be 1000000% clear on our position, trans women are women, and NB people can be sapphic or lesbians. The Femslash Big Bang does not endorse any kind of transphobic rhetoric.

***ofc this can be such a grey area with NB characters, but the rule of thumb (imperfect as it may be) is that if they are canon sapphic OR could be considered sapphic if they were with a woman/women (u can write all-nb pairings so long as everyone in the ship meets that metric). This can also include characters that fall into some more ambiguous niches or have no canon gender like a video game protagonist (i.e. like a DA Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor/Rook or BG3 Tav/Durge).

Summary

Over 800,000 years after Young Justice was formed by Kon, Bart and Tim - teens in their effigies piece together bits of physical history as the new Young Justice operating on Pluto. Everything seemed so simple to all three until Impulse begins to have unexplained memories of the past that threaten to challenge everything they thought they knew about him.

The space in Superboy’s mind was warm to Impulse. As a construct of the Speed Force, and a being that was never made of all that messy biological meat-stuff, engaging with the physical world was… an experience. Typically, Impulse didn’t ‘feel’ anything other than the unique vibrational hum of the universe and everything within it. But in Superboy’s mind he felt warm.  Anyone else’s head just felt like a head, lukewarm at best and gooey as tiny synapses crackled around him like static. Not Superboy’s. So long as he was in his head he felt as though he was wrapped up in blankets which was an odd thing for him to compare it to, because he couldn’t really remember ever being bundled in anything. At least he thought he didn’t.  He guessed Superboy’s mind just had that effect on him.  “Impulse! I know you’re in there. Get! Out!” the Superboy in question grumbled in mid-meeting with Robin.  “Meep!” Impulse squeaked as he exited his head. When he left he materialized like heatless fire caught in a sunbeam. “Sorry!”  “Man, why do ya gotta keep doin’ that! Knock it off!” Superboy rubbed his head in irritation and Impulse felt guilt scrape throughout him. He didn’t want to hurt Superboy, he just wanted to feel warm.

jihyo (twice/soloist) as katara

- extremely hard workers who trained for years to get to where they are now

- have natural leadership abilities and are total mom friends

- would cuss someone out if they were very annoyed

- thanks to jeongyeon and her water bottles, jihyo is actually a pro waterbender already (jeongyeon is pakku but without the misogyny. the entire pakku/katara fight is just a compilation every single concert encore where jeong and jihyo bicker)

- every time i see a clip of chan on a live i end up laughing

- i have also heard from stays that skz would collapse without chan and i very much think the same of sokka since he’s the ideas guy

- i mostly thought of this because heejin and hyunjin are former loona members and good friends. which would make the scene where suki saves toph from drowning even funnier imo

- but also have you SEEN this woman’s muscles??? i have full confidence that heejin could handle her own in a fight

- every sapphic i know who’s seen atla had a crush on suki growing up and every sapphic loona stan i’ve met (which is most loona stans) has had a crush on heejin

- heejin’s lore in loonaverse is basically being a god and i personally equate that to suki

- she’s also very good at looking evil in mvs so i think she could play azula

- that scene in the deja vu music video right before the last chorus when fire shoots up from behind her? she’s literally a firebender

seonghwa (ateez) as zuko

- i know absolutely NOTHING about ateez aside from a couple of their title tracks but this man looks so much like siyeon i couldn’t resist

- idk i just feel like they’d be good at being the fire disaster siblings

- he also looks like he’d eat up the “the scar is not on the wrong side” line for some reason???

- was probably an angsty teenager at some point

- nobody can out femme either of these two

- cute extroverts who could also be deadly (like imagine x-file miyeon during boiling rock)

- i am fully aware that bibi isn’t an idol but i couldn’t resist

- she just gives the mai vibes honestly. you know that trope where the guard asks the character to hand over all of their weapons and just stands there and stares as said character pulls out knives from everywhere? that is both bibi and mai

- bibi is also the queen of every concept so i fully believe she could probably play the entire cast of atla in a chaotic one-woman show

what i like about your blog: STARS. SHINY. besides that, though, you've also given me a fond appreciation for the colour purple because of your blog's main aesthetic, and i mean, really. i made you a whole icon psd based on that aesthetic. it was a lot of fun to incorporate the greens and purples of varying shades to fit your blog the best i could! because it's so different to my usual elements! and to top it off, i actually really enjoy how simple your formatting is (which is hilariously ironic when you look at my formatting in comparison)!!

what i like about your character(s): now i know you joke about it a lot but it's true that izuku has your whole ass braincell and i love that for you. we haven't been interacting as long as either of us have had our muses or blogs, but it really doesn't feel like that sometimes, because katsuki meshes really well with your portrayal! i mean. he's still an asshole. he still likes to mess with izuku when that poor boy has his guard down and he's all smug about it because ha, caught off guard, take that! but then izuku challenges katsuki with the same energy, and more often than not that's exactly what he needs, because bitch needs to get humbled.

this isn't even talking about the whole world we've constructed with your izuku's mute au and katsuki's villain-recovery au. MAN. we've plotted a whole decade or more for how that whole ass au works together, though we definitely kind of obviously ignore the canon progression and everything because fuck it we ball... but yknow what? worth it. it's been fun living in a silly little au world. i love canon as much as the next guy but sometimes an au is really where it's at.

what i like about you in general: well, i'd say you know better than most that i fucking SUCK at consistent (or just any) communication. but you've been so tolerant and patient about it, so i genuinely wholly appreciate that and i really hope you know that? not to mention you are a delight to talk to! and i do genuinely love to rattle off ideas with you, even when the brain is a bit foggy and i don't actually have anything coherent to throw at you. 1000000/10 amazing person to talk to right here guys

Anyways, I beated Genealogy today so ... here are my thoughts on it.

I enjoyed it. However.

The gameplay. Lord. Why, why, why, why are the map like that ??? Why are they so freaking massive ?! From what I understood from a meta pov (and Genealogy is very meta) it's because it's supposed to be like weeks of fight and a whole country but that concept is still completely insane ??? Those maps take not only forever, but you have like 1000 of objectives to fufilll and the enemies are all over the places !!! Boi, that thing males the gameplay sooo tedious, and not because of strategic challenge, but simply because they are suuuper long.

That said the feature of the fort at the begining to have a place to train is a good idea ! That's just... a pity you can actually access it even in battle... that makes the maps even weider then they already are.

That aside I like the animation, especially the magic one ! There are soo many cool spells in it !

Anyway... story part ... i think overall, the story is pretty ok. I do think however, as I feared that people tend to oversell it.

My problem with genealogy is how the gameplay makes the pacing incredibly weird.

So far, the storytelling is pretty on par with the classical SNES : you have a narration of the events and people often ressorting to "tell don't show"...but

Here's the thing, there is like only 12 chapter in total in this game. however, those chapter are made incredibly long by how long the maps are. However, there is 1000000 events that happen on those maps, in ONE chapter. What ?

As a result, the story suffers from this. This makes a lot of the events in the story feel rushed, even stuff that should at leats take some more chapter to flesh out. Like Sigurd and Deirdre's romance is introduced in chapter 1 and solved in chapter 1... like no joke, 2 second after he meet her and he finds her in the Forrest, Gugurd goes "I love you" and then the chapter end with them married... like why, why would you do that ? This goes too fast, and having character expostioning how happy and in love they are doesn't compensate. For Arvis it's fine since he and Deidre aren't as in love as he claim they are. But for the whole thing in chapter 5... this makes it kinda weak. And it's not like it's the medium's problem because Genealogy itself will prove you it can offer a fleshed out romance in a few interactions : just look at Lene and Ares. Their pretty much canonical dialogue makes the sole fact Ares has other love interest an insult in itself ! Likewise, I almost lost it when I realized that Talitu and Azel aren't canon. WHAT ?!

Seriously, this was so speedrun that even Chrom's romance with the Village Maiden in contrast seemed more fleshed out !

So yeah, I think stuff like that makes the story rushed. Instead of having several chapters to flesh out those moments, they are all happening in the map in one same chapter which makes what is otherwise a very coherent story feels fragmented.

Also, I know this fandom tends to exagerate things but while Seisen's lore is much more easy to digest then 3H's and that it actually managed to take advatage of all of it's worldbuildling ressources,... I wouldn't call the politics in it subtle by any means. I mean the politics in genealogy in the story are "The pacifist king started a war because of his evul concelor" or "the prince of the country left the country because of his evul uncles" or "Sigurd accidentally conquered the whole continent". I am not joking. Gugurd literaly conquered an entire country just to save his childhood friend, and another one in self-defense, and then another one in self defense, and the other one they did was because the Queen of the country needed help and then again, in self defense... like, this gotta be a joke. Seliph's story in contrast was him conquering purposefully territory as a member of the resistance, but his vater almost conquered all of Judgral because "self defense "??? I...

Anyway. I think the politics in Genealogy is the same level as every FE: war bad. Tyranny bad. While it mainly exist to come back to eat Gugurd's butt, ultimately, making the first act about politics rather then what I think it's actually about, the thematic aspect of the whole story, is kinda misguided. The politics doesn't exist in itself, but as a thematic thing and is more linked to the personal struggle of the character then the characters being concerned about taking over the country. Heck, even Arvis's conviction feels empty as they are being presented only in chapter 5 and in a way that feels kinda clumsy.

But I can give it to genealogy, they did the "The evul cult that worship the Evul dragon is actually the one responsible for pulling the string of the war" much better then Awakening and 3H reunited. However, I can't really say that I felt threatened by those guys, they are still the same level of the Grimeal. Cause like... they have as much deepth as a thin paper. Really, they are still very much comically evul.

Also, there are some stuff that bothered me. Like... what was Deidre doing in Marpha Castle ? I mean, she is supposed to not approach other humans right ? So why was she here in the first place and how did she managed to get to Aideen ? Was she here because she wanted to see how people fare ? Or smth like that ? I am pretty sure it's never explained how she arrived there.

But yeah, there are a lot of stuff that are rushed in this story.

So as a result, I think the act 1 of the story, while fine, is kinda weak. The second act is however, much stronger imo and has more narrative highlight.

I think it's mainly benefitting that compared to the first act, the second one is more focused on its goal and take more time to developp the story. The pacing is still as weird though, but there are some nice moments like that one bit about Selip and Lewyn finding the place where the Loptyrian were hiding and the scripture he find. That's a great moment imo and it does help seeing that the Loptryian aren't just pure evul... what a pity that the main people doing this in the story are as flat as paper. I can't even call them character...

Speaking of that... Deirdre... wow, people warned me she would have very little place in the story, but this woman's plot relevance is SO small I can't even agree with people when they say she has the personality of a flour sack because I spend so little time with her I can't even speak on that !!

Arvis doesn't far much better like.... is that what you call a good villain ? He is so bland. He barely appears on screen and in the second act, he is just some mere puppet bossed around by his teenager of a son !

As for Travant well... I could say the same thing where he is essentially comically evul but for some reason... he accept to sacrifice himself in the second act... because...

Yeah, I think the only character I felt were actually strong one were Gugurd (my man deserves better) and the Nordion siblings. That's incredible how Deidre with the screen she gets makes me unsure on whether or not I can tell if she has a personality of not but Lachesis managed to steal the spoltight the moment she is on screen.

Speaking of, I don't want to hear anyone ever ever again complain about the Avatar characters because Sigurd and Seliph are pretty much non Avatar character yet they too get to see the ground the walk on to be kissed by the people, and don't try to ressort by a "but they own it" cause Sigurd is being worshipped EVEN when he messed up ! In chapter 2, Baby Oifey is already praising him, and even though he got himself into such a position he is being frammed, the Queen of Silesse keep singing his praise to her son and.....

OH BOI LEWYN. WoW. I didn't though I would actually find a character that would annoy me but .... wow... I can't tell why, but I just can't stand him ! But really, I wonder why ? I mean, all he did was abandonned his home country under the guise of political problem instead of dealing with it, abandonn his wife and children, and essentially scold a 17 year old for having the pressure to deal with the salvation of an entire world on his shoulder and ignoring his own kids .... ok now I get why

And Seliph... boi, I don't want ANYONE to ever complain about Corrin and them having no personality when Seliph as the EXACT SAME FREAKING PERSONALITY as Corrin !! I know that you will draw more parallels with Alear, but utlimately they have the same personality ! Corrin is someone who is sweet and kindhearted, Seliph is the EXACT SAME.

*sight* anyway. Also... see Julius ? HOW IS THE FANDOM SAYING HE IS LESS GOOD THEN HIS DAD ?! Sure, Julius is still comically evil and he makes Rafal look like an actually good villain rather then a forced antagonist as well as joining the rank of "pretty boi is possesed" with Lyon and Rafal.. but boi, at least HE is more entertaining to watch then his failure of a progenitor. Each time the guy pop on screen, things gets worse, he actually gets me to have a chill down the spine the moment he is there !

But imo I think the fandom oversells way too much the stuff in Seisen... like Lachesis.. seriously ? That's what is making you go "Kaga shock value" or "Just as Kaga intented ?" One comment about how she wished people were more like her brother, an old hag's gossip and a wedding between Ares and Nana ? You gotta be joking... that's literaly child's play level, shez, fire emblems fans are such snowflakes. You all clearly haven't seen the real deal

Compared to that whatever Kaga did with Lachesis and Eldie is even lower then the average brocon trope in that time. Amateurs !

On a more serious note, when it comes to the dark stuff, you all are overselling it. Yes it is dark. A game that has child hunt, incest that bring back the literal devil and kill all the protagonist in first generation is indeed dark. I am not forgetting Talitu dying tortured by Hilda. But... is it all ? I am not going to sugarcoat it but it's obvious you all are way too impressed by how all of our units died and how it was a very audacious move from Kaga but that's not making the entire quality of Seisen. And tbf I am someone who, as an enjoyer of dark story, can assure you that if a story fails to properly enhance the darkness of it, then it's just edgy.

Just to give you an example. In one of the Seliph and Julia conversation, before they go to Miletos district, they have a very sweet conversation where Seliph try to cheer her up by talking about how he will try to make her visit the market of Miletos and the two of them having a shopping seance and it was genuinely soo good and heartwarming to see these two who had to deal with fight for weeks and month to think about something else, about having a moment of peace to enjoy their youth, a promise of an hopeful event in the darkness. More moments like that would have helped balance with the dark stuff. More moments of the first or second generation speaking of an hopeful tomorrow, about why they will do once the war is over, about their dreams and hope, more of them showing their softer or sillier side. Having fluff and soft moments is what help balance the angst. The worst part is that they COULD have that : Deidre and Sigurd's romance. It was right in front of you. Instead of the nothing burger we get in the canon, have at least 3 chapters where the two would meet and then fell in love. Really, seeing them talk and fell in love would improve so much and makes us feel more invested when chapter 5 comes out. Like, this one moment btw Julia and Seliph was genuinely soo sweeeeet... but Lewyn had to ruin it by existing making useless jokes

Either way, I did find the second act stronger then the first one. The story is still pretty decent. I wouldn't call it bad for the life of me. It's still good. But boi, does it gets weaken by ... everything.

Anway, while I do get were the 3H comparison comes from... I still felt it more familar to Fates and Engage. KId you not.

Genealogy as magical rings, story focused on sibling, a possesed pretty boi, an evil dragon symbol of despair that is at the same time hope for some people, a 17 year old teenager worshipped as a hero that feels overwhelmed by the pressure of having the fate of the whole world on the shoulder... doesn't that remind you of something ?

I am pretty sure that the whole bit about Veyle and Alear was a wink to Seliph and Julia !

And also... 12 dragons that gave their blood to humans that passed it down to their descendant ? .... hhmmmm... where did I heard that ?

Fates obviously draw a lot of inspiration from Judgral in it's lore, which makes it all the funnier when people mocks Fates worldbuilding as being bad and unexistant... but well, you also call Corrin the personality of a blanket when they share the same personality as Seliph...

That said, I am overall pretty neutral about Genealogy and the cast as a whole. I can see why people like it, I can still say safely the fandom oversell it (but tbf they do the same with 3H). I still enjoyed the trip !

“I really do remember though…every second with you."

So I’m in the last week of my bootcamp and I have a couple of job interviews this week and things are going I guess BUT my brain doesn’t really care about any of that.

Because Y’ALL. I’m still 1000000% inside the first episode of the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary specials. I’ve been waiting for this since I saw the first trailer in like September and David Tennant has been constantly on my mind and it was just everything. All the things. 

Wherein, after the 13th doctor regenerates into THE 10TH DOCTOR’S OLD FACE, he lands in London obviously and immediately runs into none other than Donna Noble, his very best friend in the entire universe who absolutely cannot remember him because if she does, she’ll very quickly die.

They did an  intro into the episode that explained the whole backstory which was a little forced and cheesy  but I get it, not everyone is insane enough to have just rewatched all of 10’s episodes just because this was coming (though they should be). 

I’m gonna admit I had no idea what the episode was supposed to be about other than reuniting some of my two favorite characters in the whole wide world, and I’m glad I didn’t. It was definitely a traditional Doctor Who romp: aliens crash land on earth, UNIT gets involved,  one alien faction is going after another alien faction, Donna’s family ends up in the center of it, they need to figure out a way to keep London from getting destroyed.

Ya know, the usual. 

The thing I’m here for, friends, is David Tennant becoming a new version of his own doctor because that’s fascinating, while still absolutely painted into his skinny suit (which is so Crowley somehow), and catharsis. All the catharsis.

After watching his entire run again, I stand behind the opinion that Donna got the worst deal of all the companions. Rose got to keep her Doctor human clone, Martha ended up with Mickey, but Donna had literally EVERYTHING ripped from her. Can you imagine the size of the hole the Doctor would leave in your subconscious after being removed? Like, how do you manage any kind of life after that?

But she did. She’s got a husband, and a kid, and she donated almost all of her lottery winnings while dealing with what I can imagine is an overwhelming, horrible sense of loss. Humans can get used to anything. And that thought is kind of devastating.

Which means all I really wanted was to see the two of them together again, and Russell T Davies delivered the goods. 

The Doctor runs into Donna basically immediately after landing in London of course and he learns her daughter’s name is Rose and I can’t get over how many times he shouted “WOT?” in this episode, I always loved 10’s incredulous “WOT!” 

She rambles at him of course and is messing with boxes full of stuff she’s holding so she misses the spaceship very NOTICEABLY crashing to earth because that’s her thing, always missing everything. But she’s ready to go so in true Donna fashion tells him “Nice to meet you, skinny man. Oh, word of advice. You can wear a suit that tight up to the age of 35, and no further.” Baby girl is still herself, and she’s ruthless, and I love it.

 After the Doctor follows the ‘crashed’ spaceship, he runs into a scientist from UNIT who is holding herself together insanely well considering she’s stumbled upon the doctor, and he tells her that all of this is swirling around Donna of course and he says “she was my best friend in the whole wide universe. I absolutely love her” and then he’s surprised that popped out of his mouth because you know 10 was never going to admit to that so thoroughly, and these are the interactions I need in my life.

Here’s the situation gang: I absolutely love a love story. I really do. If my Good Omens fixation is anything to go by. But I also really love a good, solid, perfect friendship. Two people challenging each other and accepting each other and just being on the exact right wavelength. I’ve had some terrible friends in my life, and so beautiful positive depictions  cut right to my heart. Which means I’m really here just for the two of them being those amazing friends again.

Meanwhile, Donna’s daughter finds one of the rogue aliens, AKA The Meep, which I found to be HELLA creepy, like everyone was all ‘aw it’s cute’ but nah y’all, I knew that motherfucker wasn’t cute. But just like her mother, she wants to help and she brings The Meep into her little shed in their backyard because obviously, and it all takes a turn.

The other aliens that were apparently pursuing The Meep show up, and Donna catches wind that there’s a martian in her house (I love it, everything is always a martian, she’s my favorite) and her mother, bless her, tries hard to make Donna ignore the entire situation because she cannot remember, but it doesn’t matter, the Doctor crashes in anyway.

I also love that she was instantly annoyed with him, still calling him “skinny man”  and wondering why the hell he was following her. And he does kind of try to extricate himself from her and her family but of course it was never gonna go that way.

So the UNIT soldiers have been overtaken by some weird light they found in the spaceship and they come to the house to start attacking and the other aliens are there to also attack and the Doctor’s gotta get everyone out, of course. They do some ridiculous trek through the attics in the attached rowhouses to try to get out to the car parked nearby. Miraculous escape, always! 

Also why am I weirdly all about the Doctor driving the car? I was like ‘yes’ but maybe that’s just a residue Bentley thing, who knows. The point is, he takes them to an underground garage and the other aliens tracking The Meep show up and TWIST, we find out The Meep lied about his backstory while the Doctor wears a ridiculous barrister wig he pulled from his jacket. Turns out The Meep is absolutely crazy because the sun his planet orbited went…psychedelic? Don’t look too much at what’s going on with that whole story, it’s fine, just go with it. 

So The Meep tries to attack! And the Doctor jumps to cover Donna and the dosed up UNIT soldiers show up and everyone is taken hostage and brought back to where the spaceship is being repaired. The Meep wants to eat them, or something? Because sure. The teeth they put on that thing, woooof. I knew that asshole was trouble from the get.

Turns out The Meep plans to escape in the ship and to do so he basically has to burrow under London which will obliterate the entire city. Surprise!

Not to worry about that though, the Doctor and the UNIT scientist create a scenario wherein Donna, her husband, Rose and the grandmother can all get away and the Doctor will handle this situation on his own, thanks. But Donna’s brain kicks in, and she says she has to help him, even if she doesn’t know why. 

She follows him into the ship. And he’s like ‘nah girl you gotta get outta here’ but she’s not having that of course, because that’s her. He tried to shake her a few times the very first time they met and he never could. It’s that friendship pull.

The point is, he’s trying to disable the ship himself but there’s a lot of buttons to press and he has to do a lot of weird shit (again, don’t pay attention to the crazy dialogue of the things he’s saying he’s doing) and then a separator comes down and splits the room they’re in, the Doctor on one side and Donna on the other. And he’s still trying to protect her. He knows they could stop the ship together, but he’d need her, all of her, to do it. 

He tells her that if she helps him, she’ll die. And she just says “okay.” She says her daughter’s down there, and 9 million other people, so who cares about her? And now we’re into what I was waiting for, he’s yelling “I DO!” She says she’s just no one and he emphatically tells her she’s not, and he screams

“WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE THIS?!”

Anyone else crying yet? No? C’mon. This is when I started crying at the trailer. It’s horribly unfair; he gave her up so she could live her life and he never wanted to involve her again, she’d helped save the fucking world already and 10 never really did get a break really, and here he is back at it as 14 and it’s still just as terrible. 

So he starts saying words. And his poor face. You can see it’s ripping him apart. “Westerly. Pelican. Dreams. Tornado. Clifftops. Andante. Grief. Fingerprint. Susurration.” And then she picks up on it, she says “Sparrow” and he says “Sparrow. Dance. Mexico.” 

And she finishes, “Binary. Binary. Binary.”

In true Donna fashion, as soon as she’s fully aware she starts freaking out at him about giving away her lottery winnings because she was trying to be like him and I love it, there’s a countdown to launch in the background and she doesn’t give a shit, it’s so the two of them but she jumps into action anyway again saying some crazy shit about what she’s doing. He tells her she has 55 seconds to live and she says “55 best seconds of my life” and she flips a bunch of switches and tada, they’ve done it.

The partition comes up in the room and The Meep storms in and Donna collapses in the Doctor’s arms. She asks him why this face had come back and she says “to say goodbye? Good fun though” and she fucking DIES. 

The way he cradles her. Jesus. It’s so tender. And the pure fucking anguish in his face. David Tennant’s face, goddamn. I can’t. 

The Meep is still trying to kill him though using UNIT soldiers and he doesn’t give a shit because he’s been basically foiled by “The DoctorDonna” but then, suddenly, the UNIT soldiers are released from their hold and Donna WAKES UP and everyone is like “WOT!”

And we see Rose, manning the controls outside the ship, brilliant as anything. I love this explanation so much: Donna’s metacrisis was too much for one person, but because she had a child, she passed it down, a “shared inheritance.” Her little shed in their backyard was an errant memory of the TARDIS, she’d been creating little stuffed animal toys of all the creatures Donna and the Doctor had met traveling, she’d chosen her new name herself,  the name of one of the Doctor’s most important companions. They realize, the two of them, Donna and the Doctor are binary, but Rose is not because 

“The Doctor is male…and female….and neither. And more.”

IT’S SO FUCKING CUTE. And perfect. And I love it. She had timelord energy strumming through her, her entire life, and it made her feel weird and different but also made her amazingly unique and wonderful. 

And then, to top it off, the Doctor tells them he still needs to heal them of the crisis because it may be slowed down, but it won’t stop. And Rose and her mother just scoff at him. They know exactly what to do. They just let it go. Because they’re incredible.

And I love all of this so far. But I cannot lie, my favorite part of the entire episode is when the Doctor convinces her to take a ride in the TARDIS so they can go visit Wilf. They go inside, and of course the TARDIS has changed again and I’m not gonna lie, it’s probably my favorite design so far. The Doctor freaks out about it, and Donna tries to be nonchalant but she finally admits “it’s GORGEOUS!” and the happy fucking look between the two of them, the Doctor is bouncing, he’s bouncy Crowley. And then he starts racing around the place, running up and down the different levels and honestly that just made me cry harder.

10 was always so sad, I always wanted that boy to be happy and maybe he was a little bit but everything was always so serious but now he’s been able to resolve probably his biggest regret and that’s such a gift. Which I think is gonna make it even harder for him to let go, a second time. I am not excited to watch him leave, again. 

The point is, after he makes her a coffee the way she likes, he says “ I really do remember, though. Every second with you. I'm so glad you're back, cos it killed me, Donna. It killed me, it killed me, it killed me.” And she deserves to hear that. It was one of the worst things he had to do. And 10 was never going to say it. I’m SO glad 14 got the chance. 

Catharsis. They needed it, I needed it. The Doctor back to a true and familiar form. It’s going to kill me to only have 3 episodes of this, but I’ll take it. As long as I get one last “allons-y!”

Then, most likely pang-weekend ito na ginawaang ng oras at effort pero gusto looks effortless. Dating locations may include physical games like basketball, arcade or console game, arts or something similar, puwedeng rin OOT or nearby depende kung busy much or not so much. Ginalingan ba? Saks lang. Basic pero upgraded. Probably ang goal is to reach 1TB Pro Max levels pero umeedad na. Meal choice syempre 'yung aesthetic na pakak sa tingin niya. Probably, something super OG or super new bordering eccentric. LOL. Tapos and ending tatanungin ka ng tanong to the tune of 'Wag Muna Tayong Umuwi. Tacca.

any is lovely, quite frankly, though I adore the ones that tell me how it made you feel. it’s such a rush to hear someone reflect my work back at me in words that aren’t mine; I get the keenest joy from knowing that when I tried to communicate to you a feeling or a scene or an idea that it reached you, as I intended. that you felt that way too. that you got attached.

general screaming is also 1000000/10. I think someone left a comment once that just read “affection!” and I still think about that one, too. It really does mean a lot.

listen if I’m not physically writing, I’m doing it in my head. if I see the light hit the trees at a certain angle, if the city has a certain vibe one day, if I hear someone say something and think that reminds me of a character. music, so often, sets me off on long trails of thought. I live for this. I want to create and describe and breathe life into this. I want to explore and feel emotion, good and bad, through the perspective of these characters. it’s cathartic, it’s challenging as fuck, and it’s fun. I don’t think there’s ever been a time in my life when I wasn’t story writing in one form or another. it’s my primary mode of creative self expression.

oh there’s so many and half of them are YOUR FAULT so I’m going to give you a very vague 😏 highlight reel as both treat and punishment and if you want more details you’re going to have to ask very nicely.

the second half of made for me features a nines who’s learned a little of sixty’s coy manipulation. the person he wants is being so professional and restrained but she looks so cute when she’s trying not to be flustered. he won’t let her just walk away. sixty caught him while he was doing something about it… did you?

I’m not even discussing the bolt-on to tailor nines because of COURSE you’d drag me into a follow-up sixty fic. take your flowers and go think about what you’ve done. actually, no, one tiny detail: there’s going to be a greenhouse cat. I decided.

I have a stupid amount of planning done for echoes and reflections, the darkest timeline au of the middle ground; it’s a very very different side to sixty but if I can get the parallels right it’ll bolster both in such an interesting way. he’s definitely the same person, but losing Connor instead of losing Hank sets his life on a very different trajectory and it’s really, really not for the best.

beyond this I have ideas for two corruption arc fics, a couple 😏 for MUCH neglected Markus, some unhealthy but hot canon-divergent fun with Connor and/or sixty and/or nines, and another human au for nines with a reader who really presses his buttons.

none of that includes how excited I am for the finales of a question of time and unbruised, or for some. possible follow ups to existing works 😏

Oohhh well I have no idea who raiden shogun is AHAHAHAH but I will certainly try and play some genshin impact this summer (if im not too obsessed with writing fics which I can't promise ehehe) BUT i did some googling.

So, I'm going to quote some wikia info about this character:

Do you know what that reminds me? LEVI LMAO Imagine putting this man - this man who's so very scared to show people how he feels and what he thinks - with a person who does the exact same thing.

Like, imagine two cold and stern ppl trying to get along. They wouldn't talk to each other, they would never learn anything about each other, and they would never learn how to read each other lmao this calls for the longest slow burn in the history of slow burns.

That's why it's always easier to pair a closed-up-to-himself character like Levi with a character that's more opened up. I'm not saying you should give this poor man a polar opposite (like hange) because they would be fighting all the time and that would be exhausting on both (even tho I do ship LeviHan 👀) but you should give him a character who's a little more open.

Levi by default is an insecure man when it comes to relationships, ok? He thinks he's ugly and he's got zero experience in that stuff. He needs reassurance that you want him 1000000% of the time.

BUT two cold and stern characters paired up together is a really challenging trope but def fit for a slow burn.

The Shogun is a puppet created by Ei to act as the ruler of Inazuma. This puppet follows a set of directives programmed into her, which are extremely hard to modify even by Ei herself. The Shogun thinks of herself as Ei's assistant, and does exactly as she wishes, no more and no less; she cannot act without Ei's direction

Do you know what I'm seeing here, anon? I'm seeing an Ackerman that can't do shit without a certain person's leadership. All Ackermans follow some leader that they think is aiming for a cause that's bigger than themselves.

If the Ackerbond was a thing (<- and you can make it in your fic), then that would mean that Levi would have no choice but to follow Erwin's orders, or Mikasa would be forced to do whatever Eren wanted her to do <- being puppets.

I mean, you could definitely have Levi and Shogun bond over this. It is something that they are both going through.

When pairing up two characters that are relatively the same, you should always focus on stuff that they have similar because they are many. Have them bond over this shit and you'll get a fic that makes bitches cry 👌👏

Plus, you said she's very powerful and Levi is also very powerful but they're both 'puppets' so what to do with all this power if you don't have control over it?
