The Global 16 Days Campaign is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day. The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. Why is activism 16 days orange? For its 16 Days of Activism Soroptimist International of Europe will use the colour orange to signalise our outrage at violence directed towards women and girls and our hope for a better future. Among other things, we will“orange” our website and post a unique SIE calendar with pertinent messages, facts and figures. What is the main purpose of 16 Days of Activism? Activism (or Advocacy) consists of efforts to promote, impede, direct or intervene in social, political, economic or environmental reform with the desire to make changes in society toward a perceived greater good. ☡WOMEN ARE A BLESSING TO OUR SOCIETY. Sadar tidak sadar, kekerasan berbasis gender dan seksualitas ada dimana-dimana. Bahkan di lingkungan terdekat kita. Saya yang waktu kecil pernah menjadi saksi kekerasan itu terjadi. Dimana tetangga saya yang menjadi korban diancam oleh pelaku, merasa tertekan, tidak berani bertindak untuk meminta tolong kepada orang sekitar, bahkan keluarganya pun menganggap itu bukan hal penting dan angin lalu. Oleh karena itu saya mendukung @enambelasffest, karena salah satu pendekatan informasi melalui film dan diskusi adalah salah satu cara agar masyarakat lebih terbuka dan informasi yang didapatkan akan lebih tersampaikan.
